SHELTER AND SERVICES THROUGH OPERATION DIGNITY. >> HERE IN SAN FRANCISCO, WE ARE LUCKY, WE DON'T NEED TO HAVE AIR CONDITIONING, BUT I CAN ONLY IMAGINE IN THE EAST BAY, AND EVEN IN THE NORTH BAY, THOSE THINGS ARE CRANKING OUT SOME POWER RIGHT NOW. >> OR NOT, AND THAT'S A PROBLEM. >> THAT'S ABOUT 90 DEGREES IN MY HOUSE RIGHT NOW BECAUSE THE AC JUST STOPPED WORKING THIS AFTERNOON. SO, IT'S NOT GREAT. FIXED TOMORROW HOPEFULLY , BUT BY THE END OF THE WEEK IT WILL COOL DOWN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER. WE ARE GOING TO GET SOME RELIEF FROM THE HEAT THAT HAS GRIPPED THE BAY AREA ONCE AGAIN , INLAND PARTS OF THE BAY AREA OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. LOOKING OUTSIDE OF THE MARK HOPKINS HOTEL, THE FLAG STANDING OUT A LITTLE BIT. WE ARE SEEING TEMPERATURES STILL HOT AROUND THE BAY AND FURTHER INLAND. AROUND THE BAND ALONG THE COAST TOMORROW, ONE MORE DAY TO GO FOR THE HEAT ADVISORIES AND EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNINGS. THUNDERSTORMS IN THE SIERRA, I WILL SHOW YOU THE REPLAY MOMENTARILY. LIKELY NEW FIRES GETTING GOING THERE, EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ENTIRELY DRY STORMS. TRENDING TO BELOW AVERAGE WITH HIGH TEMPERATURES BY FRIDAY AND OVER THE WEEKEND. SO, THERE IS SOME RELIEF IN STORE, WE JUST HAVE TO WAIT FOR IT. HERE IS THAT RADAR REPLAY OVER THE PAST 12 HOURS, LOOK AT ALL THAT LIGHTNING BUBBLING UP. ONCE WE HIT NOON IT'S LIKE FLIPPING A SWITCH, THE ATMOSPHERE GETS UNSTABLE ENOUGH THAT IT RISES UP AND DEVELOPS INTO THOSE THUNDERSTORMS. SOME RAIN, BUT NOT ENOUGH TO ATTENUATE THE FIRE THREAT, AND TOMORROW WILL BE ANOTHER DAY IN THE SAME LOCATIONS WITH THE THREAT OF EITHER DRY LIGHTNING OR NOT ENOUGH LIGHTNING TO OCCUR WITHIN THE SIERRA OR MUCH OF THE NEVADA OVER UTAH AND ARIZONA AS WELL. CLOSER TO HOME HERE, WE WILL BE SEEING AIR QUALITY, I THINK IT WILL BE A MIX OF GREEN AND YELLOW DOTS BY WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON. ELSEWHERE IN THE STATE RESTING IN BUT MOST OF IT ELEVATED IN THE ATMOSPHERE, WE SHOULD IMPROVE AS THE TEMPERATURES DROPPED STRONGER ONSHORE BREEZE SENDING US TO THE GOOD AIR QUALITY LEVEL BY FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. JUST A LITTLE BIT OF FOG. A SHALLOW LAYER SNEAKING THROUGH THE GOLDEN GATE RIGHT NOW. CURRENT TEMPERATURES ARE ALL OVER THE PLACE. 70 IN SAN FRANCISCO, JUST ABOVE 70. 80s IN OAKLAND, 90s IN OAKLAND, SANTA ROSA AND AT OR ABOVE 100 DEGREES IN LIVERMORE. CONCORD, THE FOG WILL NOT BE A BIG HELP FOR THE REST OF TONIGHT. IT WILL MAINLY BE CONFINED RIGHT AROUND THE BAY AND ALONG THE COAST, NOT MAKING MUCH OF AN INTRUSION AT ALL INTO THE INLAND VALLEYS. NOTHING TO SLOW DOWN ONCE THE SUN COMES UP TOMORROW. TEMPERATURES START OFF WARM TO BEGIN WITH , WITH THE RELATIVELY SHORT NIGHTTIME HOURS AT THIS TIME, HERE, THERE IS ONLY SO MUCH THE ATMOSPHERE CAN DO TO LOSE THE HEAT DURING THE DAY. INLAND TEMPERATURES ARE A MIX OF MOSTLY 60s AND A FEW LOW 70s ON THE MAP BY EARLY TOMORROW MORNING, THAT GIVES US A HIGHER JUMPING OFF POINT FOR TEMPERATURES TO REALLY TAKE OFF ONCE THE SUN COMES UP, WHICH WILL HEAT US UP, ONCE AGAIN. HOPEFULLY NUMBERS WILL APPEAR ON THE MAP, HERE, I THOUGHT I HIT THE BUTTON. IS ALWAYS HAPPENS ON LIVE TELEVISION. IT WILL NOT BE AS HOT TODAY BUT IT WILL STILL BE HOT. HERE IS A LOOK AT TOMORROW'S HIGHS, STILL 100 DEGREES IN MORGAN HILL, JUST BELOW THAT FOR LIVERMORE, AND ANTIOCH. TEMPERATURES IN CONCORD AND IN FAIRFIELD INTO THE UPPER 90s BUT STAYING OUT OF TRIPLE DIGITS. 80s FOR FREMONT, 90s FOR REDWOOD CITY BUT MID-60s FOR HALF MOON BAY, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s AND A COUPLE OF SPOTS GETTING CLOSE TO 100 DEGREES. NOT QUITE AS HOT FOR INLAND COMMUNITIES IN THE NORTH BAY UNTIL YOU GO MUCH FURTHER NORTH, 90s AROUND HERE, IT REALLY ISN'T THAT HOT FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR, AND THERE IS THAT TIME OF RELEASE IN-STORE RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER. LET'S CHECK OUT THE SEVEN DAY FORECAST. BY FRIDAY IT'S A WHOLE DIFFERENT STORY. TEMPERATURES ONLY TOPPING OUT IN THE LOW 80s, AND BY SATURDAY, INLAND HIGHS AROUND 80 DEGREES WHICH MEANS WE WILL SEE A MIX OF UPPER 70s AND LOW 80s, SO THAT IS ACTUAL RELIEF FOR LATE JULY. TEMPERATURES RETURN CLOSER TO NORMAL BY MONDAY AND TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK. NORMAL WARMTH, WE CAN HANDLE THAT, WE JUST WANT TO KEEP THE EXTREME HEAT AT BAY FOR AS LONG AS WE CAN. TEMPERATURES AROUND THE DAY AFTER THE UPPER 60s FOR HIGHS SATURDAY AND SUNDAY, ALMOST AUTUMNAL WEATHER, AND A RETURN TO LATE SPRING. TEMPERATURES ALONG THE COAST DON'T CHANGE MUCH. YOU WILL SEE LESS SUNSHINE, GRAY SKIES OVERHEAD. BY THE END OF THE WORKWEEK THAT WILL CONTINUE INTO NEXT WEEK AS WELL. >> HOW LONG HAS YOUR AC BEEN OUT? >>
