welcome everyone to the farm in paloalto home to the Stanford Cardinal and the legend such as lway luck and mcaffrey all of whom went through battles like the one we'll see in this one maybe you need a little caffeine or maybe the sheer energy of this matchup will keep you wide awake as we know anything can happen when you kick off after dark as we see a squad from the Big 12 the TCU horn frog taking on a team from the ACC the Stanford Cardinal for EA Sports college football I'm Rees Davis David poock and Jesse Palmer with me guys it's time to get it going and the horn frogs will get us started with the opening kickoff he'll start the return inside his SP and the returner will be brought down so Stanford's return team certainly didn't do the offense any favors there and this Mig fella can beat you in a number of different ways in the passing game David yeah so much fun to have a guy that I can rely on that can beat guys over the middle of the field that can beat man-to-man cover this guy's the Ultimate Weapon and I love that this guy has an awesome catch radius you don't have to be perfect as a quarterback when you throw to him he can make you look good I I like it just frustrate the defense get that five to six yards make them honor the Run make them know you're willing to run the football and run it effectively halfway there on first down it's second and five running behind that left side Nifty little dance step tackled but he has a first down and listen the offensive line has to do their job but a really good job by the running back understanding where his hole is go hit it get the first down don't mess around nice job following his hole getting positive yards they'll snap it from the 25 here on first down they'll run it out of the shotgun and they'll shove him out of bounds after the short game and the running back didn't get much there nice job by the defense you can tell they're focused in on this running back on this run game being physical getting knock backs and limiting his carries didn't get much on first down it's second and nine after run run run now throw got him down field and they'll finally catch up to him but not before a big chunk of yardage is picked up and there was no question in that scenario that's where the quarterback was going he knew he had his receiver in a matchup that he liked running a route where he would find himself opening nice job between those two this Stanford offense moving quickly down the field power football with the Run they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one listen I know there are a lot of DBS out there that all they want to do is get interceptions and dance in the end zone this dude likes to put his face in the fan get close to the line of scrimmage and tackle and on the opening drive that he's out there he gets a huge tackle for loss early that is a statement play wide receiver coming across in motion with Jet Sweep pass he's there to make the Stop and they threw it in reverse losing yardage on that play well I love the aggressive nature of the defense on that play everybody playing with eye discipline they saw the pre- snap motion they knew who had the football and you saw guys play with excellent Instinct running downhill and making a tackle a third and long coming up here on the run it's Daniels and it's incomp complete on third down well they try to throw forth there on third down on the opening drive of the game they don't get it but let's punt the ball away let's trust our defense and guys let's also trust this home field advantage and the crowd to get loud and make it real difficult on our opponent Stanford lines up to pun it away you'd think they would have had a good chance to down that one deep but the bounce carries it into the end zone for the Touchback so tcu's offense will take the field for the first time as we take a look at out impact players for this one what are you looking for Jesse for a guy to make an impact well these are simply put the leaders of this football team and generally games go how these guys play if they make plays they've got a shot to win this one no doubt they got to show up the these are the team leaders these guys have to play well if they're going to win the football I love this linebacker because able to dissect what's happening in front of him and he reacts downhill uses his speed to get to the line of scrimmage and create the negative play the horn frogs are in the hurry up back to the ground with the running back finds a little bit of space gets three to the 22 [Applause] third down conversions are a huge stat and this one would be a doozy if they can pull it off from the gun wants to pass and this is going to be incomplete on third third and long situations are really hard to convert the defense knows it's going to be pass the pass rushers are getting up field you're under pressure you don't have timing and as a result now fourth down and the Horned Frogs decide to punt it away let's see if he can help the coverage team out with this one slips through the line he'll put a stop to that return as he gets it up to the 41 yd line Stanford has it back the Cardinal offense returning to the field that last Drive fizzled out Jesse they had to punt it yeah they did and David they're just going to have to do a better job this time around erasing the mental mistakes and just trying to solve the defensive riddle understanding what they're trying to do to you and attack them offense threatening at the 45 yd line on First and 10 they'll ride the hot hand at the 35 he's got room and he's sprinting he'll take it all the way touch down cardal huge play it's so nice to have guys that can create these explosive plays like this you hand it to him he can do the rest look at the speed look at the elusiveness get into the end zone nice run lining up to tack one more onto that lead and he's got the extra point and it's seven nothing to start this one only took two plays to find the End Zone on that drive and gashing them on the touchdown run finished it off the kickoff team takes the field to boot this one away he'll bring it back from inside to SP and R returner will be dragged down TCU has it back in the horn frogs go on offense the last time we saw this offense we had to look quick it was a three and out Jesse he just had no rhythm in that last drive so someone's going to have he's Off to the Races and they are pushing the ball down the field a big pick up on that one and the tackle is fin made and as a defense how scary is it having to defend this guy he's one of the fastest players in America and you saw it on that last play it's not necessarily throwing him the ball over your head they just get it to him quickly the hard part now is running and tackling that guy not easy to [Applause] do off the play fake on first down wants to throw and incomplete on the Deep ball man that when is going to make this quarterback sick to his stomach that's almost always automatic for him yeah that's that's pitch and catch that's that's day one when you go out and watch practice the ball very rarely hits the ground unless you have a Defender uh because these QBs and wide receivers are so good but man just a just a mishap a little overthrow now the play fake right down the middle can't hang on it's incomplete and you can't worry about the footsteps when you're running those those Crossing routes it'll be third down yeah and he looked like he had the opportunity to secure that obviously open over the middle of the field but you know how that works middle of the field more Defenders am I going to get whacked when I hit this thing it makes those guys think a little bit and you see more drops over the middle of the field got it in the middle it's Williams makes that one pay off and they finally get him down at the 38 it'll be first down when you're a player like this guy is your coaches are going to dial up plays intended for you especially on third down that's what you saw in that last play there was no question where the quarterback was going with that football all week long they decided on the biggest Downs of this game we're going to Target our best player and we're going to make sure that he gets looks it doesn't matter what the coverage is and you saw it right there on that they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one so you get stuffed on first down you had an idea of what you wanted to do on second but I'm guessing it's back to the drawing board now yeah you got to figure out who you are and what you are uh what's your next best play or what is the defense going to do they've been aggressive okay if they've been aggressive I'm going throw that deep ball if they've been sitting back I might sneak a draw here fast motion from the offense the playaction fake and the heat gets home they knock him down back at the 45 this defense they are tenacious and they've got guys up that are athletic and that are so strong and then can collapse the pocket you saw it right there in that play action attempt this is a third and [Applause] long they're trying to slow that Rush down with the draw and the defense holds firm no pick up at all on that play and just a great job by the defense being Stout right that's your job be Stout up front stuff in the Run play make them get in more passing situations but do not let them run the football that's 101 stop the run first the horn frogs will punt this one away this will be the second time they've had to kick it away the punt goes out of bounds and a nice job to get them backed up I think they'll spot it right around the 15 wide receiver shows motion give to the running back and they try the middle of this Stout defense and they rise to the challenge how about the defender being a heat seeking missile he was on radar lock he found the football and flew down with some bad intentions got stuffed on first down it's second and 10 hand off to the lone back and he was able to get away from one tackle but plenty of help was on the way decent pick up on that play running backs Square their shoulders up it's when they have the most power you see them Square shoulders up break tackles be strong continue to plow his way forward just making it really easy on everybody in this offense by breaking tackles looking to throw it's Daniels makes his connection really nice job to get it past the stick pick up the first down at the 30 man he had to get rid of that thing I don't even think he had time to find the laces when he picks up the first down yeah and that's a great job you know third and short the defense is bringing pressure he sees the pressure gets the football out and gets just enough for the first down they'll give it to the back they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one that linebacker saw the express lane right to the ball carrier and a great job by by the defensive line getting some push making them use their resources on him linebacker comes free be to make in the back field for a tackle for a loss lost one on that last one it's second and 11 he's looking to throw not able to hook up there incomplete let's see what call they have on Third and long from the 28th from the gun wants to pass feeling some heat just threw that one away to avoid disaster defense has been looking so good on this drive so far they already set up third and long and now they take all the throws away down the field great job in coverage great job reading the QB's eyes so there's nowhere for him to go with it he's got to throw it away St for l up to punt it [Music] away and he'll work his way on the return out to the 35 yd line before he stopped TCU will send its offense back onto the field they hope to be able to cash in on this drive David after having to punt it last time yeah and I think this offense needs to start it with the first play you need to be successful and productive on that first play and it gets you in less predictable situations no doubt too don't you just feel like there's a little bit more sense of urgency on this drive it just feels like they've got to be able to put some points up on the board here and the horn frogs want to crank the tempo he'll pull it on the re they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one well they were trying to set up the option but the quarterback had no chance did you see the defensive tackle penetrate what a great first step he shot right through the offensive line and got the tfl they line up and it is a long way to the sticks from [Applause] here looking to pass it's Hoover getting some heat and he is coralled short of the line to gain the horn frogs line up to punt it [Applause] away no return coming he'll call for the fair catch the Stanford offense making its way back onto the field they'll have another opportunity to extend this lead after punting last time David and it's important to put that punt behind you it's it's over Let It Go get back to what you were doing that built this lead yeah and defense obviously they won a few Downs uh that last drive so we got to put them on their heels here maybe mix up a few Personnel groupings and try to show them some pictures they haven't seen yet eight yd pickup on first down leaves them with second and short motion from the offense quick hand off finally pulled down but not before moving the chain for first down and I don't care if I get it by two by 20 by 30 by 40 I I just I just want to get the first down understanding the situation understanding where the sticks are doesn't have to be sexy but I got to make sure I get to that stick get to the first down Mark they've got it first and 10 from the 25 they'll leave it with him makes a man miss out across the 30 mark down at the 35 after the 10yd gain and with that run goes over 100 yards we knew coming into this game tonight they wanted to force feed him the football they knew to win the game they were going to have to establish the running game and be the more physical team in the trenches you turn around and give this guy the ball good things generally happen and we've seen that over the course of this game the GI to the back got enough for the first and he's still going and he's brought down after a nice game another good run man he has been picking up yards in bunches today Jess he's showing off all the skills and he's showing no signs of slowing down David this guy just gets better as the game goes on he is a beast Stanford going back to work with another first down on the ground it's buckler the big defensive tackles in the middle they're not always the best pass rushers but they are strong and I say country SC they put their hands on you you feel it they lock people out on the line of scrimmage they creates separation they wrap running backs up and usually they don't get out of the midst of those big boys didn't get much on first down it's second and nine back to pass it's Daniels safe completion on the screen didn't have much room to run and not a whole lot of help short gain there and still plenty of ground to cover for the first down you can hand it to him you can throw it to him either way he's making his presence felt those are your favorite plays Rees the him plays right they're finding ways to get him the ball because he can make plays whether it's running or receiving out of the back field they're going to continue to highlight this guy can't make the connection on third down thanks to that tough hard-nosed pass defense and now it's fourth down this is a point where you just got to be able to focus and the critical down and distances in this game like that third down right there when it's a good throw you got to make the catch you've got to be able to make that play the Cardinal will have to Bo it away he'll try to really get into this one and you couldn't ask for much more than that a perfectly placed punt pins them inside the [Applause] five he'll do it himself and he's brought down and this defense gets the ball back for it's own he pulled it and kept it on the option but he couldn't keep it away from the defense I think the QB made the right decision not to pitch it he needs to do a better job with ball security the defense they were able to get swarm to him quickly and dislodge the football from his body a huge opportunity guys for this offense to take over after the fumble recovery and start first and goal they'll try to get it in with the Run they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one this defense obviously knows they've got to be able to stop the run if they're going to win this football game and you wonder if they've been able to make some tweaks and adjustments to try and take this running back away defense roll up deep in its own end on that last play now a second and long coming wide receiver now comes in motion he'll run it to the middle looking for the End Zone they get him down after a four yd gain to the six unsuccessful second down and now I'm immediately thinking I got a little bit more than I want so what are my pass plays what am I going to get into here offensively to try to have success on third down they'd love to make this short field payoff with a touchdown instead of settling for three but it is third and goal dropping back it's Daniels just had to get rid of that one to save the yardage on third down third and short in college football today you see so much more pass than you used to the offense stays aggressive and I think they stay aggressive because they know they're in field goal range they got that three in their back pocket they're happy enough to try to take the points as the field goal unit heads out and this one shouldn't be too taxing a 23 yd try just drives it between the uprights and that lead grows even bigger give the defense a ton of credit in this Sudden Change situation their offense just coughed it up and this defense comes out they go three and out and force a field goal that's a win you're defense so they were able to put up a three spot on that last drive and now the kickoff team out there as they prepare to put boot to leather on the move from inside is five didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 TCU has it back in the horn frogs go on offense P it finds his man on the left and they pick up just a few on that completion you know the short passing game is a great go-to weapon for any offensive coordinator in the first quarter because it's reliable obviously but it also allows you to see how the defense is going to react and play you so for coordinators this can really open up the rest of your playbook for the rest of the game and the horn frogs want to pick up the tempo quarterback on the keeper that's what you expect from a senior don't give them any extra yards great tackle there a third down try for the [Applause] offense at the end of the quarter it is Stanford holding the edge they largely dominated this first as indicated by the stats this could be a pivotal moment in this game as we open the second period and they try to find a way to answer back to throw it's Hoover not able to hook up the air incomplete really nice job by the defense the offense has the whole Playbook open to him on Third and short they try to SLI in the screen did not fool the defense at all nice stop by the defense the horn frogs will call on their punt team they'll look to pin him deep might have thought he'd want to try to pick up a few yards there but he's content with making the fair catch right around the 35 yd Line running back searching for a hole a and tough efficient run gets it up to the 44 coaches always harp about staying ahead of the chains and when you can run with that type of efficiency on first down man you are doing just that the big pick up on first down leaves them with second and one they go to the ground still on his feet at the 45 and he breaks into the open def makes a stop but the chain move and it's first and goal from the e every time he touches the ball you can feel the excitement from this home crowd cuz Palmer He Can Go the Distance with that game breaking speed you're right David he's a special talent I'll tell you these fans they come here to see this guy play because he has gamebreaking speed stuff you can't coach you saw it on that play and that big Gainer on the last one has them threatening from inside the 10 here's the snap looking to throw Falls incomplete and he did everything perfectly except catch the football second down coming I love the coverage on defense in the Red Zone everyone's got their eyes on the quarterback and they're flying to the football and you saw that there on the incompletion defense rolls up deep in it own end on that last play now a second and long coming back to throw it's Daniels he's got it on the move that throw and catch gets him down to the six and the defense is running out of answers they flexed out that tight end a little bit and you know the tight end's always open always open quarterback's best friend and this guy's a problem ree he's a matchup problem because he's too big for DBS to cover and he's too fast for linebackers to cover he's showing you his athleticism there wants to fire It In The End Zone on Third and goal he's got it in the end zone touchdown Stanford I don't know exactly what the defensive coverage was but it certainly wasn't part of the plan to leave him that wide open well I I don't think they know what their defensive coverage was either how do you leave that big guy open down here in the Red Zone you know the quarterback loves the big tight ends in this area really poor job by the [Music] they'll try to add another to their lead and with the extra point they now have a thre possession lead at 17 a very efficient five play scoring drive and they get it in into the end zone with a 6yd touchdown pass just about set to kick it away and he takes this from inside the five he was looking for more Running Room but none to be found as he stopped at the 23 TCU will send its offense back onto the field trailing Now by 17 David this is an opportunity that they need to answer and down by 17 it's not panic mode yet like I know we just gave up some points defense hasn't played great but I think this offense can still be who they are and stay consistent no doubt lots of football to go but you do get the feeling this is the time of game where you know it could get bad if you don't score and all of a sudden they get the ball back they take it down the field and put some points up this thing might be over so absolutely this quarterback he wants to drive this offense down the field and at least put something on the board throws to the wide out wide open downfield and they'll pick up the first down and Mark it at the 4 seven I'll tell you what that's great execution between the QB and receiver they looked like they could execute that throw in their sleep quarterback took his steps threw it on time great route by the receiver nice job securing the catch and the horn frogs in the hurry up to the air it's Hoover gets it out quickly got room at the 35 hit the afterburners kid and after gobbling up some serious yardage and showing off those Wheels he's finally out of bounds well after that last play you can see how electrifying this guy is and how specially is after he makes the catch if I'm on offense I'm trying to find a lot of ways to get him touches in this game they use those backto back explosives to set him up first and [Applause] goal he'll try to get it in with the Run he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three there is nowhere to run and nowhere to hide on these situations you know the physical ground game comes into play inside the 5 ydd line and they match the intensity nice job everybody flying around to the football making the tackle for a loss nice job by this defense he'll run it up the middle trying to pick his way to the end zone he pushes his way down to the four as they get closer and closer and on offense you know this is four down territory you have to come away with a touchdown you're getting boat raced in this game right now and you're going to have to make this possession count yeah definitely because of the slow start now putting yourself behind the eight ball I think this offense is going to have to be aggressive the rest of the game on Third and goal they'll throw it and into the end zone he goes touchdown frog and what did I start for this offense the throw game getting working getting the touchdown pass this quarterback getting a little bit of confidence this passing game getting in a rhythm nice start for this offense now they'll line up for what they hope is automatic and with the extra point they close to within 10 down 177 so that scoring Drive took only six plays and they they cap the drive with a four yd touchdown pass so they've got the lead down to 10 here a little more interesting as they're set to kick it away on the run from inside his own five he was looking for more Running Room but none to be found as he stopped at the 23 Stanford has it back the Cardinal offense returning to the field from the shotgun now here's an inside GI his way and gets four out to the 27 when you're a defense it is stop the run first that is your first responsibility it makes the whole game easy and right now they got it going on the ground the defense is going to have to change something up these little tiny Dink and dunk Dink and dunk you keep doing this they'll go all the way down the field on you so you might want to get a little bit more aggressive leaves it with the running back defense not budging he's still able to get two to the 29 they're strong and strong defensive tackles they're strong there's such big jokers in the Middle where they just lock out those offensive lineman and running backs listen they don't have much of a chance when you got that 300 plus pound guy grabbing you around the shoulder pad you tend to go to the ground pretty quickly looking down the fires a bullet now it's picked off he would have loved to make the big return there but he still gives his team the ball at the 37 Zone equals eyes when I say that DBS linebackers all covering the middle of the field so many guys over the middle of the field trying to take away the easy stuff but reading the quarterback's eyes the whole time whenever he breaks to throw that football and that hand separates from the ball I'm breaking on it you could tell they had a beat on it nice Cut nice instincts give me that int TCU has it back in the horn frogs go on offense last time they had it they took it down the field for a touchdown they can build some confidence that they could go backto back scoring drives here yeah and remember it's not uncommon for offenses to find themselves as the game goes on they had some things not go their way early but they found something last Drive David let's see if they can build on that yeah you you you just pick and pick and pick until you find that place where you're like okay this is an advantage I have theyve clearly found that dude they score here we're in for a ball game scanning the field it's Hoover finds his man in the middle and he's brought down for a nice game you know this sophomore has a big arm and there were some revolutions on that one and a nice job working the middle of the field I think it's so important to keep defenses honest and you can't just Dink and dunk outside you got to work the middle great job finding this wide receiver over the Middle [Applause] Field and the heat will get home and the quarterback goes down at the 17 how about this defense coming out aggressive on first down they're in the Red Zone they're like no no no we're going to take the fight to you now setting up a second down and long and putting them in a great position to be successful a first down sack can wreck a drive let's see what they've got on second and 14 pulls and fires it complete to the right and he cruises his way to the house touchdown TCU timing and better execution that is just what a quarterback and wide receiver need it's timing it's route running right you got to be precise you got to know exactly what yard you're running to the quarterback receiver on the same page that's why you get the touchdown on to attempt the try and it's up and good as they draw Just a Touch closer quick work on that scoring drive just four plays he'll bring it out from inside his own 10 really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 the Stanford offense making its way back onto the field boy they hope this next Drive is more productive after throwing a pick last time Jesse Yeah and the coaches did a good job on the sideline there just talking to the Young quarterback and making sure he's able to turn the page calm him down to go out and refocus this drive yeah and some people do that better than others but you got to show some trust in him maybe get the ground game going help around him a little bit with this system one play in this drive and already out to the 41 it's first down the running back it a confident tough efficient run gets it up to the 44 you know it's so important for offense is to want to keep third Downs manageable the way you do that is by having success like that running the football on first down solid pick up of four on first down it's second and six mind as well stick with him really nice stop there from this senior leader you know runs like this often times are like a boxer in a boxing match obviously it's not a knockout punch but these are body blows and as the game goes on these small gains are going to turn into longer runs here on third down will they go back to the running game back to throw it's Daniels shoots it to the left all kinds of room to throw that one in there finally run out of bounds but he has his offense rolling with a first down just Beau and that's a great feeling as a quarterback when you make that throw and keeps your offense on the field keeps the offense in Rhythm obviously not as good as throwing a touchdown pass I'll tell you this way better than having to trot off over to the bench and wait for your turn to get another shot off the play fake on first down to throw can't hang on and he'll tell you he really should have made that catch and he had an opportunity right in the middle it'll be second down couldn't make the connection last time let's see if they throw it again from the gun give on the inside squeezes out a couple of yards down to the 32 they line up with some serious work to do if they want to convert this one on Third and long triy to convert through the air got his man on the right they were counting on making a few yards after the catch on third down instead they're staring at Fourth yeah and I think a lot of times you trust your guy you you throw it to him and you say I can make somebody miss or lower my shoulder and get to the sticks the defense had none of that nice job t nice job forcing the fourth down splits the uprights good well you're always going to wonder what would could have should have happened on Fourth and inches had they gone for it but with this kicker I like taking three points and putting it on the board so after the last Drive ended with a field goal the kickoff team out there to send it [Applause] away looking for those open spaces and opportunity not a lot of space to be found good Hustle by the coverage team and they stop him at the 21 TCU will send its offense back onto the field looking for a man it's Hoover zings it complete to the right and a good good job in coverage there as they stop it after just a few he saw man coverage and the idea just get it to my receiver as quickly as I can and let him work David see man and and see the cushion and see the guy backed up a little bit now I know I can get it to him right now and get a positive game off the play fake and this sophomore able to wreak some havoc and get the sack well I think one of the biggest reasons why this team finding themselves in a hole here in the first half is this has been a sack party they can't keep the defense off of their quarterback they haven't been able to get the ball deep down the field throwing it with the consistency they want because they can't keep their quarterback standing up straight when you've already set your punter out four times at least he knows he's going to get his varsity letter and his leg might get a bigger work out if they don't convert on Third and long he's going to have to turn one loose down field he took a hit as he threw it and couldn't deliver the football it's incomplete and fourth Down's coming and this is why this team is losing this game they cannot protect their quarterback he's already been sacked a bunch of times almost got sacked right there this guy doesn't have a chance with the way this offensive line is playing another punt on the way got to make sure those hammies and glutes all AC activated don't want any muscle PS from overuse Stanford has it back the Cardinal offense returning to the field they've got the lead here last time they settled for a field goal but David got to find that balance oh he dropped it and this fumble will squirt out of bounds you know fumbles really just comes down to luck oblong shaped ball just can bounce any which way whatsoever and offense right there very lucky that one went out of bounds now they'll try to cash in this drive first and 10 from the 50 to the ground he's got it again and maybe they want to try somewhere else because there is nothing doing in the middle of this defense well this defense obviously knows they have to be able to stop the run now in the second half if they're going to win this game and you wonder if they were able to make some tweaks and some adjustments at halftime maybe getting some more bodies close to the line of scrimmage to give themselves a chance to come back in this game wide out in motion from the gun the G looking for room they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one well this guy's been eating him alive all game long finally though David you wonder if the defense has been able to make some adjustments find something positive to help slow this guy down hey baby steps right that's a tackle for a loss I know he's got over a hundo on the game but this defense is definitely going to have to be more aggressive commit more guys to stopping that bad man oh what a grab by the defense looking for more room smashes through the tackle after making the interception he sets up his offense by running it back to the 39 and this is obviously not a great start for this quarterback here two interceptions already in this game he's got to do a much better job with his decision making TCU has it back in the horn frogs go on offense after a punt on their last possession they are set up in plus territory this time and honestly it wouldn't have mattered if they scored a touchdown their last possession you've got to be able to turn the page and see this as a brand new opportunity to go get points yeah and your defense has set you up for a position to get points right away now let's get this offense back rolling again create some momentum just get a few first downs and I'm in scoring position the horn frogs head it quickly to the line [Applause] LS to throw on first down off the play fake just a short pass to the tight end and he'll step across the sidelines after making a good gain on that one you know we joke that the tight end's always open David but play action almost makes it impossible to keep them cover and yeah because those guys they're such good blockers most of the time they're big in pH physical and they sell block for a second and then they run open and they find holes in zones or they get good matchups and man those tight ends nowadays are nightmares for defenses to try to stop off the boot looking for his man here comes the rush and they've got him wrapped up at the 28 what a great job by this defense setting the tone early in the first half they've been hitting the quarterback early and often make him feel uncomfortable make him feel that pressure keep him the ground that's why they've built the lead a little less room to work with now as the ball is at the 28 and it's third and long dropping back it's Hoover and he's all bottled up and now it's worse the ball's loose One Step ball was loose offense didn't have a chance Defenders everywhere it's a turnover there is little that warms the hard of a Defender like a strip sack even better if you get the ball and I like the aw of this defender on the play because he knew he might not actually get to the quarterback and make the hit but he was able to still SWAT away use those long arms to create the turnover they'll try to get the corner here on the Jet Sweep just couldn't get away from the tackle and a great job seeing the motion coming across the formation understanding the jet sweeps a possibility pulling the trigger going and getting the guy on the ground and now on second down for this offense he's looking to throw quickly out to the tight end and that is good versatility there and a big hit from the backer in pass coverage it's the two-minute warning and we'll see if the offense can tack a little something extra on their lead before the break coming to the line of scrimmage on third down they'll try to pick up the first through the air and they'll miss the connection here on third down and I like the aggressiveness on Third and short trying to throw the football take advantage of a look that they got they weren't successful and now it's Fourth and short territory who knows what they're going to do Stanford lines up to puted away and the punt hits at the six and they can't down it and it'll be a Touchback TCU will send its offense back onto the field ball security going to be Paramount this time Jesse Yeah and and sense of and the defense makes a play sacking him back at the 10 you can just see the excitement this defense has every play they're almost wishing this quarterback drops back to throw because they know they're going to get home to him that's the sixth time they've registered a sack this offensive line has just been unable to keep them away from the quarterback now it's second and long wants to throw it's Hoover got his man in the middle the defense going to stop the clock with the timeout they want to make make sure they have everybody on the same page really nice job by the quarterback understanding I needed to throw this ball hard like I got to fit in there tight and a nice job by the wide receiver wearing it because he really didn't have a choice cuz he was going to wear that one regardless just couldn't find any room and he wound up throwing it in reverse they lost yardage defense going to use a timeout can't afford to have any confusion on the call here and the horn frogs will try to pin them back with the punch doesn't say much for your drive when you're looking forward to the punt he gets a block looking for Running Room he'll get it to the 43 yd line before he stopped the Stanford offense making its way back onto the field boy three and out last time David they'd like to be more productive this time around yeah in the last Drive nothing really clicked no rhythm got off the field really really quickly they need to put something together here B yeah David bad execution on that last drive so they got it take a collective breath and start playing like a unit on this drive and here comes the offense on second down they'll throw again after the incompletion and the pass to the sideline will pick up a short game look as an offense you're always going to take completions over incompletions and interceptions so the offense they're able to make that third down a little bit more manageable but honestly not that much if they can convert here that type of play can really give you a shot of momentum on Third and long he has to throw for it and the pressure gets to him down goes the quarterback here's a Timeout on the field tight game here late in the first half they'll tell you that somebody's always going to pop open but it didn't happen in time before they got the sack no it did not and you know what I'm going to remember this I'm going to remember zone defense they didn't really have an answer they weren't ready to get rid of the football quarterback hesitated I got to him and got him on the ground might be a good call later on in the game looking to throw it's Hoover unloads to the wide out got his Man Down field there's a timeout called as this offense tries to find a way to draw a little closer they'll snap it on first down from the 35 he's going to pass throws for the tight end he's got an open man he puts him in business across the 50 into the 46 yd line it'll be first down the magic bean is spinning out of control already over 200 yards in the first half yeah they're being aggressive offensively throwing the football trying to take advantage of this defense on the back end they've got their quarterback right now in a Groove they'll throw it on first down fires to the middle HS it in icing and dicing through this defense and they've got it down to the 23 wow the quarterback knew he had to get that one to his receiver quickly on the end route did you see the velocity on that [Applause] throw the horn frogs have it with a first and 10 he wants to throw fires to the wide out he makes a catch we've got a timeout in the waning seconds of the half maybe a chance to get off a couple more plays just a few seconds remaining here as they try to put something up before halftime not much of a chance there he just had to get rid of it to avoid the [Applause] sack defense roll up deep in its own end on that last play now a second and long coming [Applause] he's looking to [Music] throw and that one was way too far for anybody to catch except ticket holders it's tough to throw the ball down here in the Red Zone man these windows they open and they close so quickly you've got to have great timing and right now this offense doesn't have it they've thrown two straight incompletions setting up third down and in the closing moments of the first half they'll try to put a three spot on the board and he'll try it from the right has and the angle shouldn't be too bad from this distance oh and the attempt is no good guys they could have cut the deficit in half if that field goal would been good still down by six we played two quarters here time to go to Kevin Connors in our halftime update thanks phas looks like you've had a very enjoy day there today in pelto these two defenses have really been up to the task so far and it's hard to ignore how each of these two secondaries have impacted things they've stayed true to their assignments covering each receiver like a blanket and you know what else they've done they've wrapped up and tackled with that said let's send it back to the guys on the farm Stanford will kick it off to start the second [Applause] half from inside his own 10 he'll try to help out their field position and the coverage team able to wrestle him down TCU has it back in the horn frogs go on offense a big reason they find themselves trailing to start the second half those two turnovers in the first yeah and I think coaches will tell you the number one thing that you got to make sure you do is take care of the football you want to create explosives you want to put up a bunch of yards but step one Jesse taking care of the football it just goes to show you how critical those mistakes are only two plays that's really what separates this team from potentially having the lead if they clean up the a they've got a chance to win this [Applause] game BS and fires complete to the right he's close to the first down but they're going to Mark him just a little short you know the defense doesn't have an answer for this slot guy right now they may want to think about bracketing him having a Defender play to the outside and to the inside probably some sort of Zone coverage where you're trying to get two bodies forcing the quarterback to have to go some somewhere else with the [Applause] ball bully ball on Third and short and they're able to get a third down stop here see if they go for it on Fourth well the offense is trying to get it down on the ground there on third down but they just can't seem to make it work because of how physical the defense has been guys it's made this offense very onedimensional I mean the only way it seems they can move the football is when they try to throw it and the horn frogs will line up to away he's going to try to flip the field with this one not going to risk a return here he'll make the fair catch Stanford has it back the Cardinal offense returning to the field they missed an opportunity to extend this lead the last time they had it Jesse yeah they got to be able to regain that M makes the catch and a huge play on the left side it's a beautiful passing catch I love the job the quarterback does manipulating the defense with his eyes he froze that safety and that allowed his receiver more room to work his rout one big play and you go from a little backed up to threatening it's first and 10 from the 40 looking to move it through the air he's right on target they make the stop but not before they do their work up top and pick up a first down that was a nice pickup running the drag route and finding that quiet soft spot in the zone yeah drag routes not only work against man coverage they work against zone two if you can find the soft spot and the quarterback gets it to him early he can turn up field and you saw that right there dropping back it's Daniels it's complete to the right I like the decision by the quarterback here just get the ball out of your hands get it to your playmaker a lot of times he'll dance and make even bigger plays than he did here but it was still a positive game Stanford hoping to pay off this Red Zone opportunity they'll ride the running back and leave it with him they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one no doubt offense wants to keep running the football to win this game but I'm wondering if they're starting to go to the well too often they got to start showing some new wrinkles here in the second half now on third down this offense has been rolling can the def and Stand Tall off play action throws to the wide out touchdown Cardinal made the grab and finished the deal in the end zone [Music] now a two-point conversion attempt coming up barges ahead he's not going to make it stop short of the goal line and they are unable to end this lead any further almost ready to kick it away after scoring the [Applause] touchdown here he comes from inside his own five he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 TCU will send its offense back onto the field that last Drive won't go on the Highlight Reel after ending in a punt they'd like to be more productive this time David and I think this offense has to be a little bit more balanced find a little balance between the Run Jesse and working in that pass and I think too David it's just going to take a spark it just takes one play to get this thing picked up and going the horn frogs come to the line in the hurry [Applause] up off play action on first down the short hands it's Richardson and the defense had that one well covered just a short game there I love offenses and quarterbacks that are willing to take the easy stuff take those easy throws that are guaranteed to get positive yards yeah I'm going to take big shots down the field too but don't forget it's easier to pick up second and five third and five than it is when we start getting those long yard situations they'll go to the ground he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple that DB had a different story he had something to say coming up making a physical tackle if every Journey begins with a step this offense needs to step into a third down conversion and then try to turn it into some scores and fast and the complete pass will bring up fourth down it's so nice when you know it's third and long you know a pass is coming you worked on it all week get your feet set at the sticks understand that quarterback's got to be rushed get him off of his spot nice execution by this defense and the horn frog send out the punt unit cover guys do their job and they get him stopped at the 22 y line the Stanford offense making its way back onto the field that last drive an absolute aerial assault for the touchdown Jesse it was a nice job in play calling too David just giving the quarterback some easy looks and reads so he could go out and execute and he knew exactly where to go with the football everything looked really really easy he was hot the ball was coming out of his hands the defense better do something different he had the perfect play to open the drive and now they'll snap it again from the 38 coming out on first down with the play fake he wants to take the top off and the DB making a huge play knocking it away down field nice job in coverage there offense trying to take a shot down field the defender able to tip that one up in the air and force it incomplete maybe a little frustrated after that last incompletion it's second and 10 from the [Music] 38 he'll keep it himself nowhere to run on that one he loses four on the carry well he couldn't find any Running Room at all and he'll end up taking a loss on the play yeah great discipline on defense too because if you're going to stop the option you have to play assignment football everybody doing their job there was just nowhere to go there for the QB on Third and long he'll have to turn it loose deep didn't have much of a choice just had to throw that one away it'll be fourth down and this is why you don't want to get in these situations third and long defense knows its pass they're playing pass playing deep QB has nowhere to go with the football so he just throws it away Stanford lines up to punt it away they're up to a half dozen kicks today good job by the coverage unit put a stop to that return TCU has it back in the horn frogs go on offense David the punter got some work last time theyd like to keep him on the sidelines in this drive yeah it's not something you want to say very often you don't want the punter out there this offense needs to get back lathered up and get a little bit more of a rhythm best way to do that identify where your best players are and just get them the football give these guys some touches to Kickstart this offense the horn frogs want to move quickly [Applause] the give to the running back from the shotgun runs ahead and Powers his way for four yards out to the 30 I think that was an example of the offensive coordinator trying to help out his quarterback he's trying to keep these third Downs manageable you know you throw the ball on second down and it's incomplete now you've set up third and long and now you're set up the fail this is where you make the money on the drivve ball at the 30 it's third and short trying to pick it up on the ground and the horn frogs pick up the first down and I just love when guys know exactly where the sticks are you could tell ran with purpose finished through the sticks and got just enough for the first down and a nice job up front too right good communication everybody knew where they had to go hat on a hat work the double teams and get some push hand off from the shotgun got enough for the first down and a really nice run and pick up there before the defense avoided disaster and stopped the really big play first down physicality wins football games being able to run the football and create balance and and right here just chws up another first down gives you another chance to maybe continue to run the football and I feel like this guy too is just an explosive play waiting to happen his vision his quickness and he's got a burst if you give this guy just a crease he's going to hit it and right now he's doing some damage on this defense hey bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one most offensive schemes are predicated on first down productivity that will not go down as a productive first down Play No it will not reys give this defensive line credit because they were able to get penetration right off the snap and force a negative play been showing them the run now they'll throw it how about that play to get a hand in there and force the incompletion well I know that one fell incomplete but what a day this guy has had throwing the football multiple touchdowns and he's done a really nice job with his decision making hasn't thrown any picks which has really helped keep this offense on schedule and this offense just can't afford not to get the first down here already trailing big and the clock is not their friend that's why it's so important for this defense to win first and second down you set up third and Longs like that you can show your exotic looks you can get the pass rush going everybody in the back end expecting throw and that's how you force incompletions and Force fourth Downs the horn frogs will send out the punt unit a fairly short distance here toward the sidelines not his best work Stanford has it back the Cardinal offense returning to the field here's another opportunity Jesse to stretch out this lead after punting last time I think it goes back to your Playmakers ree I think it's finding the guys that have been working for you earlier on in this game and getting them the football yeah and there's obviously no need to panic I mean think about it you got the lead you got the football you got to be smart with the football make your plays put a good drive together here maybe a little frustrated after that last incompletion it's second and 10 from the [Music] 38 wide receiver coming across in motion quarterback touch pass on the Jet Sweep the defense wouldn't let him lose there and it was a completion but they lost yardage the first thing you have to do to make these plays successful offensively is I have to block The Edge I I got to get my speed to in space they didn't do a good job of getting that guy out there in space where he could really use his Jets nice job by the defense understanding it seeing it rallying to it and tackling that guy for a loss to the air it's Daniels unloads to the wide out complete to the left big play for this offense as they get it to the 32 well how about the offense setting that play up we've seen earlier in the game a couple shorter throws they're just trying to suck those safeties closer to the line of scrimmage anticipating that they would get an opportunity to take a shot they called the perfect play at the perfect time right there Stanford gets set to snap it on first down the give to the tail back got the first down and more and the defense finally makes a stop after the sweet run and good gain and David how demoralizing does it have to be for a defense when you know they're going to run it everyone in the stadium knows they're going to run it and still you cannot stop it there's nothing more demoralizing as a defensive lineman because it just it ticks you off it gets in your head you you know that guy's going to come off and smack you and you got to do something and he throws another interception his third of the N they didn't give him much of a chance to make that play even bigger but the turnover has him set up at the 16 tell you what defensive players don't always see where the ball is they see the receiver and they get to chase him but really good job seeing where the receiver is going and making an interception making a big play getting the ball back to your offense TCU will send its offense back onto the field their Drive chart is starting to look a little monotonous punt punt punt David and their defense starting to get a little frustrated too they just keep putting me back on the field possession after possession Jesse this offense needs to get their heads out of there you know what the punter's on the sideline with the oxygen mask right now he's been playing so much he's not used to this this offense they just got to stay on the field they've got to put a drive together and get some balance going running and throwing the ball using his legs it's cook they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one well the most insightful analysis I can come up with on that one is that didn't work back to the drawing board to see if there's something that works a little better sir or if I can quote the great ree Davis that was very UNG good not a productive first down play and the horn frogs moving quickly to the line running it to the right and you can forget running in the middle against this defense linebackers in today's football obviously guys have gotten smaller they got to play in space more cover fast guys out on the perimeter but how about this linebacker coming downhill and making a physical tackle in the hole they've made third down offense a key it'll be tested on Third and long from the 28th fires to the middle a strike downfield he found plenty of room and he gets it to the 39 yd line and a you have to be aware just cuz this guy lines up all the way to the right that doesn't mean he's going to run routes all the way across your face they lost track of him and because of that it was a big explosive play the horn frogs had their offense in high [Applause] gear off the play fake on first down can't find his man as he took a shot trying to deliver that football and it'll be second down they've already got a bunch of sacks on him today and another quarterback pressure this offense has to try to find a way to get the ball out a little bit quicker to protect the quarterback a little bit more whether it's screens whether it's draws whether it's rolling your quarterback something has to change for this offense to protect the quarterback a little bit there hand off to the single back and it's SED out he picks it up still on his feet and as a defense you just want to steal some possessions create some turnovers you force the fumble but man what a break for the offense to fall back on it those are those are moments that you just get a little bit frustrated because it's just it's the luck of a bounce and this offense can ill afford to come up empty on this drive already trailing by multiple possessions little over anxious out of the early and it's a false start the officials offer the deal and the coach accepts that they will take the penalty on Third and long you'll need to push it down field grabbed in the middle it's Williams and he unleashed the RPMs on that pass man this sophomore has an arm a really nice day from this quarterback over 350 yds passing now Jess he's had a plan all game one he just seems to find his best matchups and he's done an awesome job giving his guys opportunities to make [Applause] plays comes out throwing on first down fires to the wide out got him down field touchdown horf frog and they add six more to the board with that trip to the house well they started with horrible field position but ended with perfect field position in the in the middle of the End Zone it all comes down to execution Rees you've got to have guys going out and doing their jobs you saw the offensive line up front there were physical skill players made it happen with the ball in their hands and the quarterback really showed command on that last Drive ready to try the point after [Applause] and the P will draw them one point closer lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown [Applause] Drive he'll start the return inside his five really disciplined job by the coverage unit to down there and make the stop at the 19 the Stanford offense making its way back onto the field off the play fake on first down to throw trying to get behind the defense and it slips through his fingers in complete that would have been a huge game if he could have held on and the big tight end a lot of times that's a bigger Strike Zone a bigger dude and you could tell they put the hit on him and that ball came out and it came to the turf nice job playing physical by this defense out of the gun the running back has it he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three those are the kind of plays in the second half you have to make this back has had plenty of success he's gotten a lot of touches now defensively we got to show him things are about to be different this defense has kept them backed up now one more stop and they can get off the field on Third and long to throw it's Daniels firing to the right complete and he's not going to get there the defense Stands Tall and makes the stop you got to love that on defense one of the most critical statistics out there is how do you play on third down how do you prevent the opponent from keeping drives alive right there tackling the catch you gave up the completion whoop-de-do you set up fourth and long you're going to get the ball back go get some water and celebrate fourth down and the punt team sends it the other way he will signal for the fair Catch and take it just inside the 35 TCU has it back in the horn frogs go on offense to the ground with the back and a lot of times you want those big plays you want those Splash plays but sometimes you're going to take some losses you're not going to run the football overly well but if you continue to run it you can at least create some balance you at least have the threat of it otherwise you're just going to AB and now it's just going to be a passing game and the horn frogs will hustle to the [Applause] line from the gun they'll try to impose their will creating good effort on that one to work his way up to the 42 and you know when we talk about great third down defenses it really starts with them getting stops on first and second down you've got to get those stops early in the drives to set up third and long so that's a missed opportunity on that second down by this defense musling ahead on Third and short they get him on the ground and that'll be the final play of this third period at the end of the quarter it is Stanford holding the edge they're sitting in a strong position here with the lead let's take a look at our game summary not only is a scoreboard on their side but so too is time as we open the [Applause] forth they've softened them up with a run now to throw it complete to the left and a nice grab there big pick up down to the 35 yd line oh man did he turn that one loose and fired it into the teeth of the zone and you know as a quarterback re when you're throwing it to the perimeter of the field on these curl routes you got to have some heat you've got to have arm talent to get that ball out quickly into the hands of your receiver before all those Defenders can get to it man this QB's got a [Applause] C Ed the play fake now to throw unloads to the wide out that is just a sideline credit throw catch tow drag everything you want and now he's in the 400 Club 40 pretty good day at the office when you're putting up over 400 yards this defense hadn't had a lot of answers the horn frogs come to the line with a fresh set of downs from the Red Zone he's going to throw it quick completion on the out route makes the catch and he's brought down and that's kind of a lot of today's running game right spit the ball out quick get it to your Playmakers in space get positive yards it's instead of running the ball a couple yards up the middle now you out wide and a lot of times if you break a few tackles it could be even bigger operating in the Red Zone here on second down the give to the back that back had nowhere to go defensive line AE up a blocks how about the linebackers swarming in coming in and making a great play on the ball camera boy they love to move the sticks here and take a shot at it on first and goal on third down he'll try to pick it up through the air touchdown TCU and they've moved out front here in the fourth and some of these guys make it look so easy but these are tight windows down here man there's not a lot of space on the field and he drops back knows exactly where he's going with the football throws it in there the play and more importantly now his team is in the lead in the fourth quarter they're going to go for two here and try to extend that lead to a field goal looking to throw it's Hoover he gets into the end zone for the two-point conversion and the cushion is now three and impressive 66 ydd touchdown drive and they finish it with an 11 yd touchdown Dart they're lining up to boot it away he'll bring it back from inside to SP couldn't find a way to create that broken field as he stopped at the 25 Stanford has it back the Cardinal offense returning to the field caught in the back field it's Taylor there's not a lot more beautiful in football than the playaction and the open tight end because it freezes those linebackers it freezes those safeties because they have to come up for a second and play The Run and then the big tight ends big Targets on the back end can catch the football and make big plays second down coming up they'll try the running game off the right tackle pretty good job of running you get two there to the 32 will they keep it on the ground again here on third down looking to throw for it just gets rid of it to the running back underneath makes the grab and it's enough for the first down before he's dragged to the ground you know it's a nice throw by the QB there when you're throwing to running backs you got to make it easy on them so you want to put it right on their body make the catch simple and let them go to work like they did just there getting that first the offense lines up at the 41 with a first and 10 hands it off oh what a move they finally get him on the ground with the big running play moves to change for the first down well they get another big run for a first down and if you're on offense you love the way your offensive line is blocking early in this game they're getting tremendous movement and they're making life pretty easy for these running backs right now this Stanford offense is huming set up with another first down looking for room it's Butler that's what you expect from a senior don't give them any extra yards great tackle there and the defense doing a great job committing to the Run when you commit to the run like this obviously you can give up some plays in the passing game but you got to stop the run first picked up two yards on that last one they need eight on second down he leaves it with his back and just wedges it ahead a bit before he's brought down they love to make this kick Easier by picking up a few on third down it's 56 yards out from here to the air it's Daniels wide open down field offenses gain momentum with third down conversions like that they've got it at the 25 there's a reason third down is called the money down what a great find by the quarterback great job finding his receiver at the end of the game you look at third down percentages it tells a huge story goes a long way in deciding who wins a football game trying to find his man on first down quick strike complete they make the stop trying to pick up just a little bit at a time to get to that first down marker Stanford now has it in the Red Zone f motion from the offense touch pass on the Run he is stopped behind the line of scrimmage they'll lose yards on that one got to give the defense credit watching film anticipating they knew that this offense had this play in their back pocket they knew about the speed of this wide receiver in different ways they were going to try to get him involved everybody on defense on the same page playing together I love it try to get the edge with a quick touch pass got some room headed to the goal line touchdown Stanford and that one will give him the lead man how about this quarterback right away seeing I got to get rid of the football there's a lot of guys near the line of scrimmage he spits it out and I let my receiver do the rest let my playmaker make me look really good really nice pitch and catch and guess what you got the lead now in the fourth quarter [Music] lining up to attack one more onto that lead and the extra point is good in every Point counts it's now a fourpoint lead in the fourth about to kick it away after scoring the touchdown on the move from inside is five he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic that they get him on the ground at the 20 TCU will send its offense back onto the field he wants to start this drive with a and the pass it'sit picked off didn't get much on the return but what a huge play and they are in business at the 24 as a quarterback you've got to give your receiv opport to make the play you got to put the ball on his body that throw gets away a little bit from the QB and that leads to the tip in the interception offense in an empty set going up top on first down he looks that one in nicely they stop him almost immediately short gain there and still a little ground to cover to pick up the first that's a bang bang play three-step slant they rep this over and over in practice so they can go out and execute it on game day like that line getting set on second down to the air it's Daniels he's got it and still on his feet that completion will take it inside the the offense is threatening nice job by the receiver on the in route there and how about the speed after he made his break he was able to actually separate a little bit from the DB helping out his QB on that one this offense not only has a chance to extend the lead but they can also drain that clock wide receiver shows motion they'll dial up the run on first and goal and he'll find The End Zone touchdown cardinal wow this offense they have a lot of faith in this running back knowing if they get down into this area of the field he can get it done and he can answer the Bell two rushing touchdowns already for this offense [Music] they'll try to add another to their lead and the extra point is up and good and they have an 11-point fourth quarter lead quick strike offense on that three play scoring drive and they finish it off with the score from the four about to kick it off after punching it in for the [Applause] touchdown and he takes this from inside the five didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 TCU has it back in the horn frogs go on offense out of the gun they give to the back and he was fortunate not to lose yardage on that play able to wedge it back to the line of scrimmage it's hard to run on a defense that comes off the ball like that and runs to the football like that good luck no holes anywhere and the horn frogsac to the line in the hurry up honestly I don't know what that player could have done to hold on to that football that Defender absolutely popped him he knocked him into last week there was no chance he was holding on to that ball they've got the Big Fellas out there a three tight end look on First and 10 motion from the offense one back in the back field and they'll give it to it and I think they'll give him two on that one second and eight coming up at this point of the game the offense has the lead the offensive coordinator knows they want to keep running the football so he's going back he's looking at his playlist and he's saying which runs work the best for me in this game what can I lean on right here to make sure we win this one after picking up a couple it's second and eight touch pass on the Jet Sweep pass the sticks and he may get more and they make the tackle but he has plenty for the first down and just went with something very easy very reliable Flip It Forward let your receiver do the rest I only got to get a few yards nice job nice execution first down just outside the Red Zone first and 10 from the 21 wide receiver now comes in motion touch pass on the Jet Sweep the defense wouldn't let him loose and even though it's a completion they lost yardage really good job by the defense seeing it and going and getting it nice job understanding the touch pass it could happen those guys go in motion man I gotta understand safety's got to see that start flying down getting ready to play that nice job by the defense being ready for that play looking down field it's Daniels makes the grab on the left tackled immediately after the catch and he just continues to put up numbers and that number is now over 300 this guy just throws completions man the ball doesn't seem to touch the ground he's back there he's making the right reads right now he is locked into what this defense is trying to do now facing a third and long looking to throw it again fires to the wide out makes the grab gets out of bounds after the big play and they'll be set up in business with a first and goal he has been the go-to guy on offense all game long and under critical third down here in the fourth quarter surprise surprise guess who they go to that guy and if they can find the end zone here that might be all she wrote first and goal he'll try to find room outside on the Jet Sweep he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple well you obviously want to get your receivers the football down here in the Red Zone but it's tough to throw it to him because the windows are so small so I like the he won't be able to get in as the defense gets him down at the one so the officials take a cler look in the replay Booth will overturn the call and now with the extra point they're up by 18 here in the fourth almost ready to kick it away after scoring the touchdown on the run from inside his own five he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 TCU will send its offense back onto the field they're going to open this drive with a pass got it set up on the outside he makes the stop but a nice pick up there on first down leaves him in second and manageable here's the deal you're down three possessions you know it doesn't feel likely they're going to come back and win but we've seen crazier stuff happen in college football it all starts with a big completion on a two-minute Drive they'll get the momentum started in your direction quickly complete a quick tackle may but he's got plenty for the first down and that RPO play was run to Perfection the Run fake forced and sucked the defense up and a nice job on the route by the receiver not telegraphing that he was breaking to the inside on the slant the horn frogs are in the hurry up thrown against Zone coverage you cannot Telegraph where you're throwing the football you cannot eyeball wide receivers so great job by the quarterback using his eyes not staring down his guy and then throwing him open they'll throw it on first down unloads to the wide out and he had it for a second but it just dribbled out of his hands at this point of the game in in the fourth quarter it is going to be tough for this offense to get some completions here because now trailing by this much the defense is expecting pass and they're putting a whole bunch of extra DBS on the field to help them out in coverage second down after that incompletion he's looking to throw spits it out to the back grab near the marker it's cook he's R out of bounds but not before turning in a big pick up and moving the sticks for a first down and see so many smart wide receivers so many smart tight ends nowadays that they know where the holes in those zones are and they work with their quarterback and they find them and they sit down in them and make big plays it's tough to sit back in zone against such smart players nowadays he'll take a shot he snares it in the end zone touchdown hard frogs this quarterback really does a nice job seeing the field and reading coverage and when you go empty and you spread the defense out it's easier to see what the defense is doing P unit on the field hit that with some aggression for the point after so that scoring Drive took only six plays and they cap it off with a 32y touchdown pass they are running out of time here they need to get the ball back they'll line up for the onside kick few anxious moments there but the hands team true to its name as they make the grab and get the ball first down here with time for maybe one more play until the two minut warning they'll keep it on the ground the clock is on their side didn't get much done on that run he'll fight his way out and maybe maybe pick up a yard we reached the two-minute warning and this offense will be quite content just to drain the rest of the time away ordinarily on second and 10 you might look past but here you just want to keep that clock moving wide out in motion right back to him on the ground and a decent gain there before the defense makes the stop timeout called there by the defense desperate to get the ball back and save as much time as possible going to the running game he's able to fight his way for a couple of yards but it'll be fourth down in three quick timeout called by the defense stopping the clock to save as much time as possible POS for their offense the Cardinal will have to boot it away and that is textbook instructional video out of bounds right around the goal line from his end zone lot of room to throw down field grabbed over the middle it's Williams that is exactly what you're looking for when you talk explosive plays defense finally able to make the stop how nice is it as a quarterback when you don't have to throw post routes to get great stats no I can just throw it quickly to one of the fastest players in the entire nation and let him burn this defense sprinting to the line to try to get this one off clock's running looking for a man it's Hoover throws to the wide out it's complete he's R out of bounds but big play on that one and it'll be a first down hey you know the defense here in this situation with a huge lead they've got to anticipate that this offense is going to be trying to throw the ball to the sideline so they've got to work different coverages to try to force the quarterback to go over the middle of the field with the football wants to throw on first down finds his big tight end that had all the makings of bug meet windshield but how about the little corner taking on the big tight end and keeping him from getting the first the hurry up now second down clock ticking he's looking to throw using the quick game he will step out of bounds but not before the big pick up and a first down for this offense well this offense has a ton of work left ahead of him here in this two minute situation late in the game but the drive off to a good start you get the first down you get out of bounds you work in the perimeter of the field that is exactly what you want to do looking to go up top on first down and it's incomplete if you're going to take a hit like that you might as well hang on to the ball and this is really the story of the game this offense has no chance in the passing game because they cannot protect the quarterback all game long he's been under duress you got to give the defense ton of crap the incomplete pass leaves him with second down he's looking to throw got his Man Down field give him six and give them a chance with the late touchdown still alive in this one and listen still a ways to go but great job by this offense getting you back in the ball game now we got a one possession game we got our score we did what we're supposed to do now how do we get this stopped now the defense has to come up big and get me the rock back first part of the equation complete with the touchdown now the two-point try if you want to make the deficit just a field goal now on the option dives into the endone for the two-point conversion so that scoring Drive took only six plays and they get it into the End Zone on a 36y touchdown pass they got the touchdown they needed now trailing by a field goal they'll line up for the onside kick he's able to grab the football and the hands team gets the job done running out the clock seems to be a mere formality here as they are
