ALL RIGHT. 1217 ON THIS THURSDAY AFTERNOON. IT IS A WEATHER IMPACT DAY. JOHN, THINGS ARE CALM RIGHT NOW, BUT IN JUST A FEW HOURS, THINGS WILL REALLY RAMP UP. EXACTLY. YEAH, THAT'S GOING TO BE THE STORY FOR THE REST OF THIS AFTERNOON. THAT ACTIVITY IS GOING TO BE CLIMBING AND CLIMBING SEVERE WEATHER THREAT IS GOING TO BE RETURNING TODAY. STATEWIDE STORMS A LOT OF ACTIVITY. IT'S A VERY BIG SYSTEM. AND THEN AFTERWARDS IT'S GOING TO BE COOLER, LESS HUMID, ESPECIALLY AS WE GET INTO THIS UPCOMING WEEKEND. BUT IT IS VERY HUMID AND HOT AS YOU STEP OUT THE DOOR RIGHT NOW. IN FACT, AS WE JUST GET IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS, THAT HEAT IS STILL GOING TO BE BUILDING JUST A BIT. IT'S GOING TO FEEL LIKE UPPER 90S EVEN CLOSE TO THAT 100 DEGREE MARK. AGAIN, THIS IS THE HEAT INDEX, NOT THE ACTUAL AIR TEMPERATURE. WE'RE GOING TO STAY IN THE 90S ON THAT, BUT IT'S STILL VERY HOT, VERY HUMID. BEFORE THESE STORMS. AND THEN AS THEY PUSH IN, WE ARE GOING TO DIAL DOWN THOSE TEMPERATURES. AND THE FEEL-LIKE TEMPERATURES AS WE GET INTO TOMORROW, AS WHAT I'VE BEEN TALKING ABOUT A MASSIVE SYSTEM STRETCHING ALL THE WAY DOWN TO LOOKS LIKE ARIZONA GOING INTO CANADA. SO YEAH, IT'S STRETCHING OVER THE PRACTICALLY THE MIDDLE PART OF THE UNITED STATES, AND IT'S KNOCKING ON OUR DOOR. IT'S GOING TO BE HERE VERY SOON AS WE GET INTO THE NEXT FEW HOURS. WE'RE ALREADY STARTING TO SEE THESE STORMS START TO FIRE OFF. AS OF RIGHT NOW, JUST CLOUD COVER HEADED TOWARDS THE METRO, POTENTIALLY GOING TO BE LOOKING AT SOME RAINFALL WITH THAT AS WE GO IN THE NEXT HOUR OR SO. BUT AS OF RIGHT NOW, THAT'S JUST GOING TO AT LEAST PREVENT THAT TEMPERATURE FROM CLIMBING TOO QUICKLY FOR THE REST OF THIS AFTERNOON HOUR. BY HOUR, AS WE GET TO 2:00, SPECIFICALLY. THAT'S WHEN WE'RE STARTING TO SEE MORE STORMS FORM, AND ESPECIALLY BY 4:00. AND WE COULD EVEN SEE A CHANCE FOR SOME SEVERE WEATHER WITH THIS. IT'S NOT EXACTLY AS HIGH AS WHAT WE'RE EXPECTING ONCE THIS COLD FRONT MOVES THROUGH. THAT'S THE LINE OF STORMS THAT'S ENTERING THE STATE AT 4:00. SO THIS WHAT YOU SEE ON THE SCREEN RIGHT NOW ALONG I-35, THE NORTHERN HALF OF THE STATE, MORE ISOLATED TO SCATTERED SHOWERS AND STORMS. THE WIDESPREAD STUFF WILL BE MOVING IN 6:00 FOR OUR NORTHWESTERN COUNTIES. AND THEN MOVING INTO CENTRAL IOWA AS WE GET TO CLOSER TO 8:00, RIGHT AROUND THAT SUNSET TIME. AND THEN GETTING INTO THE OVERNIGHT HOURS, 10:00 THE STORMS STILL PUSH ON THROUGH. WE'LL CONTINUE WITH THIS EVEN AT MIDNIGHT. BUT THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT STARTS TO DROP OFF AT THIS POINT, AND WE'LL STILL BE DEALING WITH THOSE SHOWERS AND STORMS UNTIL VERY EARLY FRIDAY MORNING. THEN IT JUST TAPERS OFF TO SOME LIGHT RAIN ACTIVITY. CLOUD COVER. YES. BUT THEN WE'RE GOING TO CLEAR THAT OUT. AND IT'S GOING TO BE A PRETTY NICE DAY AS WE GET INTO FRIDAY AFTERNOON. THIS IS NOW RECENTLY UPDATED, ESPECIALLY UPDATED SINCE THIS MORNING. NOTICE FURTHER NORTH THAT LEVEL THREE RISK OUT OF F FIVE. THAT'S GOING TO BE IN CENTRAL MINNESOTA. HERE CLOSER TO HOME NORTHERN IOWA AND PARTS OF CENTRAL IOWA AS WELL. IN THAT SHADE OF YELLOW THAT IS GOING TO BE THE TWO OUT OF FIVE CHANCE FOR SEVERE WEATHER. SO THE AREAS THAT HAVE THE HIGHER CHANCE, THE HIGHER THREAT FOR SEVERE WEATHER. ROCKWELL CITY, HUMBOLDT, ALGONA, JUUL HAMPTON, GRUNDY CENTER. WHAT YOU SEE ON THE MAP, INCLUDING AMES, THE METRO JUST OUT OF IT, BUT WE ARE STILL GOING TO BE LOOKING AT A CHANCE FOR THOSE STRONGER STORMS. AS FAR AS WHAT WE'RE EXPECTING WILL BE. THIS WILL KIND OF WHAT WE'RE LOOKING AT AS FAR AS THE STRONGER ON THE HIGHER WEATHER IMPACTS WILL BE DAMAGING WINDS AND ISOLATED LARGE HAIL WILL BE THE PRIMARY THREATS. TORNADO THREAT IS LOW. IT'S HIGHER IN CENTRAL MINNESOTA. BUT AS FAR AS THE HEAVY RAIN, THAT'S ALSO GOING TO BE PRACTICALLY A FOR SURE THING BECAUSE LOOK AT THESE RAINFALL TOTALS THAT WE ARE EXPECTING. 1 TO 2IN OF RAIN WILL BE EXPECTED IN SOME SPOTS AS WE GO DEEPER INTO THIS AFTERNOON. AND EVENING, AS WE WRAP UP BY FRIDAY MORNING. HERE'S THE EIGHT DAY FORECAST WRAPS UP FOR FRIDAY, AND THEN WE CLEAR THINGS UP FRIDAY AFTERNOON AFTER TODAY AND TONIGHT, WE ARE CLEARING UP AND WE ARE DRY. WE'RE LOOKING AT SOME COOLER TEMPERATURES AND MORE COMFORTABLE CONDITIONS, LOWER HUMIDITY FOR THIS UPCOMING HOLIDAY WEEKEND. EVEN YOUR LABOR DAY MONDAY. WAKING UP ON THE CHILLIER SIDE. HIGHS WILL BE IN
