YEAH. NEEDED IT THE PAST WEEK. THIS WEEKEND WON'T BE AS BAD. IT WILL BE ACTUALLY. NICE POOL WEATHER, NOT WHETHER WHERE YOU LIKE NEED TO BE IN THE POOL TO BE OUTSIDE. OUTSIDE HERE. THIS MORNING, TEMPERATURES ARE STILL PRETTY MILD. WE'RE HOLDING ON TO UPPER 60S TO AROUND THE 70 DEGREE MARK IN MUCH OF IOWA. NOTICE THE COOLER COLORS THERE ARE UP IN NORTHWESTERN PARTS OF THE STATE. THAT'S WHERE SKIES HAVE STARTED TO DRY OUT. CLEAR OUT JUST A BIT AND OUR TEMPERATURES ARE DROPPING AS THE FRONT CROSSES HERE FROM WEST TO EAST. EAST OF THAT BOUNDARY. STILL A FEW SHOWERS, EVEVEN A COUPLE OF STRIKES OF LIGHTNING IN FAR EASTERN IOWA TOWARDS THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER VALLEY CLOSER TO THE QUAD CITIES. A FEW SCATTERED BATCHES OF SOME RAIN DOWN TOWARDS PLACES LIKE SIGOURNEY, OTTUMWA, FAIRFIELD, AND THEN FARTHER SOUTHWEST FROM THERE. MOST OF US STARTING THE PROCESS OF DRYING OUT. WE'LL HAVE CLEARER SKIES THEN, AS WE HEAD TOWARDS THE LATER PART OF TODAY. SO THOSE SCATTERED SHOWERS GET MORE SCATTERED TO JUST SPOTTY HERE AS WE HEAD THROUGH THIS MORNING. BY LUNCHTIME, I THINK MOST OF US ARE DRY BESIDES A SORT OF SPOTTY FEW SPRINKLES LEFTOVER FAR OFF TO THE EAST. TEMPERATURES NOTICE THEY'RE NOT ROCKETING UPWARDS AS MUCH AS THEY HAVE IN R RECENT DAYS. WE TOP OUT ONLY, I THINK, PROBABLY IN THE LOWER 80S THIS AFTERNOON. MAYBE SOME SPOTS ONLY GET TO ABOUT 80 AND NOTICE WE'RE GETTING MORE SUNSHINE TOO BY THE LATER PART OF TODAY. COOLER THAN AVERAGE OR RIGHT ABOUT AVERAGE, WHICH IS A NICE PLACE AFTER BEING SO HOT HERE. THE PAST FEW DAYS, WEEKEND LOOKS GOOD AS WELL. LET'S TACKLE THOSE COLLEGE FOOTBALL FORECAST. THERE'S NOT MUCH TO WORRY ABOUT. HEADED OVER TO IOWA CITY TOMORROW AFTERNOON. TEMPERATURES FOR TAILGATING IN THE MORNING. ABOUT 60. BY THE TIME WE GET TO THAT 11:00 KICKOFF MID SECONDS, WE'LL END THINGS IN THE AFTERNOON AROUND THE LOWER 80S. NOT TOO MUCH HUMIDITY, NOT TOO MUCH WIND. SAME AS YOU'RE HEADED UP TO AMES THE AFTERNOON KICKOFF HERE. THAT 230 WINDOW LOOKING PRETTY GOOD. LOWER 80S HERE. AND WE'RE GOING TO BE ONLY IN THE UPPER 70S BY THE TIME WE HEAD TOWARDS THE EARLY EVENING. LOTS OF SUNSHINE, LIGHT WIND, PERFECT WEATHER REALLY. AS WE HEAD TOWARDS LABOR DAY. IN FACT, THE HOLIDAY ITSELF ONLY ABOUT 80 DEGREES. AND LOOK AT THE MORNING LOW. ACTUALLY ON LABOR DAY LOW 50S. HOW ABOUT THAT? WE HAVE HIGH PRESSURE SLIDING ON BY LIGHT WINDS. CLEAR SKIES, A LITTLE BIT OF A COOL FEEL THERE. TO START OFF THE HOLIDAY. AND THEN AS WE HEAD POST HOLIDAY AND INTO SEPTEMBER NEXT WEEK, WE'RE GOING TO BE DEALING WITH JUST SOME 80S AND DRY SKIES.
