to kick [Music] [Applause] off and we are underway in Buffalo and from The End Zone Deontay Hardy will bring it out and he'll be brought down shy of the 20 so the decision to bring it out of the end zone not a good one their 18 Y Line here's cook as they begin on the ground the game's first play produces six yds brings up second [Applause] down Allen going to throw got it complete to CER secure that one a first down pick up of eight I think that's a big pick up for a first down because when you run a drag route against Zone you're sometimes asking for trouble because you might run into a Defender yeah well there they ran into a first down exec exed it to [Applause] Perfection from the 32 now here's first and [Applause] 10 throwing now is Allen a hit as he throws there incomplete really good coverage all over the field it took away his intended read and almost dared him to try for his guy out of the back field no surprise on that one it doesn't connect second and 10 come on come on come on option play here's cook and he is met in his tracks behind the line of scrimmage it'll go as a loss of a yard so now they deal with third and 11 well that kind of hit will certainly fire up your team both on the field and tackles for loss yardage they're always welcome throwing is Allen on third setting up the screen for cook and he'll get this only to about the 38 as they stop him a few yards shy of the line to gain running for it here's cook and he's got the first down yardage as he brings this up to the 47 and the drive stays in motion with a nice 8yd pickup on Fourth gof wants to pass it and that's to and Ross St Brown and this will be a gain of five as he gets it to the 30 I think defensively you're okay with that you're in the first quarter he's going to get some catches but they rallied to him quickly and that's what you count on and I like what you just said first quarter can you do it all game long they catch it you tackle they go down on the spot because when you're able to do that you don't give up big chunks of yardage after the catch now you put the offense in a position where every series they have to work hard to pick up first downs and you tend to stall them out when you do that now a shot taken on third down but it's going to wind up incomplete you get a sense of what this game plan might be they think they can take a few home run shots against this defense they tried it there on the opening drive but that Ball's incomplete on fourth down G and is caught and out of bounds on the other side of Midfield at the 45 14 defensively a bit of a collapse allowing the fourth down play to result in 23 yds so first and 10 now in Buffalo territory at the 45 yd line they'll try the Middle with Montgomery and the result here a pick up of eight leaves him with two to go on second down y brings up second and two to throw is gone off this ball tipped and it's going to be incomplete fortunate maybe to get that back it's third down they'll come to the line needing only two yds to gain the first here y they'll run it here's Montgomery and they pick up the first down there with a gain of four yd pick up on the play and the Lions they'll keep pounding here with Montgomery [Applause] touchdown Detroit David Montgomery 32 yds and the Lions have taken the early lead on the road here in Buffalo a nice run by him don't get me wrong but the blocking up front was a thing of beauty I think for an opening drive how about that for an exclamation point just what you said good blocking good vision and he accelerated to the end zone extra point by Badgley up and good and that makes the score seven [Applause] nothing Jack to kick off for the Lions here are the Lions now as they line up and kick this one away and from The End Zone Deontay Hardy will bring it out and that decision to bring it out ends up not being a good one cost him about five yds as he's tackled at the 20 yd line Allen and the bills now with a first and 10 at the 20 they start the drive with cook he work his way up the middle for a gain of about four second down Brandon to me what's important right here on this drive is for them to get at least two first downs they've got to give their defense a chance to settle down catch their breath a little bit after they give up a touchdown on the opening drive now Allen a throw out wide going to be incomplete Charles already trailing by touchdown early this offense how imperative is it for them to get get points out of his Drive well they feel like they have to go ahead and match because of what was already on the board against their defense but I think even more so you just want to avoid three and outs you want to be able to stay on the field for a little while let your defense catch their breath a little bit even if you don't score any points on first down [Applause] Allen got him man that's Tren sherfield and they're going to have this across Midfield and inside the 45 the end result 20 yards and as a quarterback you always want to exploit gaps in the defense and he finds one here Crossing route working from right to left across the field and once you get Defenders going in the wrong direction it is awfully hard for them to Pivot back and you end up getting the first down escaping the pressure right and he is out of bounds but not before he's inside the 30 a nice job there on the escape and scramble a first down a 16 yd gain give him a little extra credit there his head was cool as the play broke down didn't force a throw and in the end got to show off his athleticism with a nice gain to bring up a new set of downs Allen's throw is complete and that's the type of play gives you a chance to win nothing forc down field where you don't have a guy open swing it out to the back on maybe even check it down whatever you want to call it gain of five you're just trying to get four on first down they're ahead of the chains now here's Allen to throw it and he's got it and he doesn't quite make it taking it within an eyelash dropped at the one a well executed 22 yd gain one yd cook no signal and now they say he did not get in he is stonewalled at the one no G on the play after one seven nothing on EA Sports second quarter now in Buffalo it's the bills in control of the football as they come up now second and goal from the gun it's Allen touchdown bills Dawson knocks a touchdown grab from Josh Allen and the bills are an extra point away from Drawing level well down in this part of the field CD they love to get him the football and right there a little pitch and catch for the score yeah and he's such a weapon when it's that close to the end zone and they love being able to rely on him to make those kind of catches talk about trust talk about confidence and he produces extra point by bass up and good and we are tied at seven each team's had it each team has scored 7 seven here as the kicks away here's Raymond bringing it out and he's able to get this across the 20 but not by much as he's marked down officially at the 21 at their own 21 yd line [Applause] the Detroit offense ready to begin their drive a lot of time for this unit to game plan on the sideline after that drive that they watch The Other Side just score but remember last time they were out they scored as well we'll see if they can seize that momentum right back and they have had a lot lot of time to cool off from reaching the end zone the last time so have they been able to keep themselves mentally sharp and into this game even though they haven't been on the field and you and I both know one big play though gets them right back up to that level early down stuffs have put this offense in precarious position we know the securing the point of attack especially against the big body guys in the middle of this day has got to be Priority One [Applause] throwing on third G able to find the open man that's complete and he'll be out of bounds but able to get it up past the 45 a pick up of 24 on the third down [Music] [Applause] conversion first down here's the run with Montgomery and they'll get this just to the 47 one yd gain no doubt about it a really nice job there by the defense not allowing him to get to the perimeter but that means your defensive ends your outside linebackers the guys that you pay big money to to sack the quarterback they also have to have interest in the running game as well and they did a nice job there of holding the point of attack and not giving ground ball on the 47 yd line here's second and nine here's G and that's hauled in by St Brown over the middle so the completion results there in nine yards and that's going to make it third down and less than a yard it [Applause] third laundry on the field this is going to be a false start on the offense sometimes you have to slow things down a little bit when things get heated the Cadence has to be slow and deliberate at times to make sure your team's ready to go now G and that will be incomplete whether that's a little grabbing a little hand Fighting by any means necessary on third down he was able to get the job done in the secondary and SWAT that one away ging his guys not coming off the field they're going for [Applause] this back to throw here he's got his Target that's complete and he is tackled inside the 40 not quite to the 35 the conversion is successful with a sizable gain of 13 and the decision to go for it looks like a smart one we've hit the two-minute Mark of the first half all kned up at seven so from the 36 now first and 10 they'll try to run wide side with Montgomery and he is is going to be stopped cold behind the line of scrimmage that was Terell Bernard navigating his way to the back field and dropping him for a loss sometimes I forget how much information he has to go through before the balls even snap but what a diagnosis right there saw the Play Shot Through The Gap like a rocket ends up spilling it for a loss a rare misstep on that last play cu the drive has been strong but now it's second and 12 they'll fake the give now G and he'll be hit as he releases it and that'll fall incomplete I think he had to unload that one before he wanted to he was right up in his grill I think he was a dentist there without a license don't you just not enough time for the play to develop just lucky it wasn't a fumble really [Applause] they'll fake the handoff now GF man open it's St Brown he's got it and he's got a first down as the tackle made at the bills 12 yd line a good pickup there 26 yds with the kind of game he's had so far you had to know that on third down that they would be looking his way and they did for big yardage and a first down I think the defense fell asleep at the switch on that one I would have doubled him tripled him anything to keep the ball out of his hands Montgomery back to the ground and strong running there as he's inside the 10 and down to the 8 yd line the Lions need to move they're hustling to the line now it's a gain of five brings up second at the 8 yd line gof now looking to throw and he's got his man it's caught for a lion touchdown alen Ross St Brown as the first half is winding down and the Lions have taken the lead here in the final stages of this first half badge Le on for the extra [Applause] point and he's got it it's it's now a 14-7 ball game [Applause] Li Jack Fox to kick off for the Lions so not much time to speak of remaining in this first half as the kicks away and here comes a return from the middle of the end zone and he's probably realizing he should have stayed in the end zone as he can only muster a return to the 14 yd line for most people the excitement of a kickoff return is to see a long one that goes back in the opposite direction but for the guys covering it is being able to stop them deep in their own territory how about that incredible form tackle right there show holder into ball carrier and down he goes final 12 seconds of the half now as they've got it first and 10 Allen now looks to throw it's Knox the tight end making the catch now a timeout taken perhaps a chance for one more quick play and then another timeout if they hurry we'll see first and 10 at the 35 yd line 35 now as they come up on First and 10 to throw it's Allen he rifles one and that's going to be intercepted picked off by Kirby Joseph and the lions are going to get the football here as he gets this up to the 38 yd line well Charles you know so close to halftime there you throw the interception not only that you do give it to them in plus territory as well yeah they were pushing real hard to try and get something more on the board on their side of The Ledger right before the half looking at it with 2020 hindsight though might have been better to hand it off a few times hoping to get something to break instead of putting the ball in the air and of course putting the ball in Jeopardy the Lions offense ready to kick off their next drive and they'll have time for One play that's it 3 seconds to go before intermission he'll let this go deep for St Brown and he knocks the ball away and it falls incomplete time for a break we've hit halftime two quarters down two still remain we step aside this is the NFL on EA Sports welcome back Charles and I settled into the booth ready for quarter number three jackx to kick off a one touchdown ball game 14-7 our scores we get back at it on EA Sports and no fireworks to start the half this will be a Touchback the bills come to the line to start their next Drive well Charles we saw pretty entertaining first half close ball game remember there toward the end of the second quarter the opposition scored to take the lead now we'll see if these guys can get a score of their own to regain that lead yeah they want to have that type of a response don't they because they want to find a way to take control of this ball game one more time golet's been thrown down they want to see if they're ready to answer it so the big play gets him across Midfield now for first and 10 they'll try the Middle with cook and and this time not quite to the 30 it'll be down at the 31 yd line they're going to hurry back to the line now now Allen throwing on second down works right side into the hands of the tight end Knox and Knox is going to have a Bills first down as he'll take this down to the 22 yd line they get nine out of that one and as a result the drive continues 42 yd first down and they're going to throw with Allen and he's going to be taken down here a sack back at the 32 John Kaminski credit him with a sack as he buries him for a loss of 102 yd line now Allen oh he tries to force it in and it's intercepted picked off by Cameron Sutton and the lions are going to take over one once again and they'll have it at their own 8 yd line so it was a drive that had real promise here to begin the third quarter but ultimately derailed by the int and that was the position you wanted to be in coming out to start this third quarter get a nice drive going looking for the End Zone possibly got a little bit too greedy right there now a throw right side taken in here to start this drive and way up past the 35 before he's taken down that's good for 28 yds as it began this drive I was wondering how they were going to attack since they're playing with the lead would they continue to try and push the ball down field well after one play it appears that the answer is yes Montgomery on the counter this will be stopped about two yds shy of the marker 8yd gain second and two y the BRS up again they'll go ground with Montgomery and he'll go down right around the 47 this time and now they're in the hurry up three on the play first down Detroit now whistles and a flag down looked like one of the Lions linemen might have moved a f start backs him up five first and 15 following the penalty Montgomery and he is met in his tracks behind the line of scrimmage up and 17 at the 40 yd line throwing on second and long gof that'll be caught it's St Brown and he'll be out of bounds just shy of the 40 these two have hooked up nine times now this afternoon as they pick up the first and that last reception puts him over 150 yards now on the game Charles and now it's not just execution it's not just performance it's a mental aspect that's going on because right now he's got the defense so much on their heels got them looking at each other who's going to cover this guy and what type of coverage can we put out there to try and slow him down call it a full three yds in the wrong direction there brings up second down now a play fake and it's G and seeing nowhere to throw he Chucks this one away from harm incomplete now it's third down a great job defensively taking away his receivers and he was forced to put that one into Lake eie but that's what good quter backs do they don't take unnecessary chances if they don't have to now on Third and long they'll look to throw throw to S brown complete on the left side he's going to go out of bounds but he takes this one down just shy of the 20 that's the third time on this drive that these two have connected with each other they've got a real Rapport going and right now it's paying off with big chunks of yardage as shown by that last play and that is going to do it for this third quarter of action we'll return with more after this you're watching the NFL on of four and it'll bring up second down let's just make this one succinct nice job there all 11 guys on defense diagnosing the Jet Sweep and putting it down this drive's taken more than three minutes off the clock already as they come up on second down [Applause] G he shakes oh no oh he lost the football oh and one of the linemen on the other side has got it and his crew will take over with a football at the 35 yd line well partner here's where team football gets tested a little bit because I know the defensive guys were over there chilling on the sidelines and all of a sudden they heard the sudden change call because that fumble puts them right back on the field and they've got to go out and finish the game now themselves absolutely nursing that slim lead here in the fourth a costly turnover first down here's the run with cook and some Nifty running here as he'll take this across Midfield and down to the 47 this drive starting off on the right foot 18 yds we'll definitely see some open running lanes and he's taking advantage of it right now but that shouldn't be a surprise defense has the lead they're playing for the pass first the throw down the field caught by his running back he'll get this one down near the 20 yd line just shy of the 20 26 big yards on that one it's another first down this defense has certainly had an outstanding second half haven't they I know they just gave up a first down there and for the offense they're hoping that that's something that they can jump start with and maybe start to move the ball a little bit better but it's been tough sledding for him here the entire second half here's Allen on First and 10 throw right side caught by Davis call it a gain of three on the play and it'll be second down the goal of a wide receiver screen is get enough blockers in front to create a wall and let him pick his spot to run the football how about the defense there swarming to it and not allowing that to happen did not let him get down field that'll go for a gain of seven and they'll be faced with a third and inches so a decent gain there but not their fourth consecutive first down like they had on the first three plays he sound almost disappointed there you want to fire the offensive coordinator on that one what they had gotten into a rhythm I thought they were just going to keep going well almost a win for the defense but if that's your win you're not doing very well right now Allen going to try and throw on third down finding knocks there complete and he'll be taken down but he does have first down [Applause] yardage they'll run with cook and the hole closes quickly here he can fight only to about the four we've got a ones score game with inside of two minutes remaining second down goal to go here's Allen and it's caught gosh given the time in the short game would he have been better off just dropping that yeah when you look at the clock you think so but it's hard to get a receiver to drop a football they're trained to catch everything but just a gigantic play here here both sides this is third and inches now Allen firing quickly here and that's complete touchdown Dawson knocks a touchdown grab from Josh Allen and the bills are an extra point away from tying this game here in the final minutes important extra point up and through and partner we've got a tie game here in the fourth pass to kick [Applause] off now this one setting up for a great finish all tied in the fourth as the kicks away and that one will bounce out of the back of the end zone so we will start here at the [Applause] 25 here's first and 10 [Applause] now it's G and he'll toss this one incomplete seeing no options he throws it away work with me partner take a deep breath cuz that's what they're doing down the field now that incompletion allowed them to Exhale a little bit get in the Huddle kind of scan the crowd see if any celebrities are here relax a little bit as they start this big [Applause] drive now G and this will be well too low for him to bring in it's incomplete so back to- back incompletions now third and 10 and first things first before you think about marching the ball down the field you got to Mo the chains you're exactly right got to get back into Focus here get the first down that's what's vital to them this Buffalo crowd letting him have it third down [Applause] now going up the gun Montgomery and this will not get close to the first down marker as he's brought down at the 26 well the guys who are paid to make the tackles deserve some Kudos there but I think they deserve even bigger ones because in that situation they had to be thinking pass loosened up defense go into pass coverage instead maybe they surprised him a little bit running the ball yet they rallied to it and stopped them well short of a first down it's got a haveit Time fourth and nine just a little too laxidasical Charles and they didn't get up and snap the ball in time delay of game yeah and I'm not sure if he understood where the clock was located in different stadiums it's in different places you have to check that in pregame and make sure you're aware so you don't run into penalties like these got to avoid the flags defensively here's fourth and long they go ahead and snap it Go and it's incomplete they cannot convert and they turn it over the Lions turned away on fourth down and the bills are going to take over in excellent field position they'll come up first and 10 here to throw is Allen pass delivered successfully to Knox on the out route and he gets it inside the 10 to the nine that tight end position it just seems to continue to evolve every year in the NFL yeah you're getting really terrific athletes a lot of them maybe were wide receivers at one point they continue to give you speed great hands and big bodies which make them excellent targets for quarterbacks Allen going right back to Knox and again a completion it drivve some people crazy to see those short throws underneath they've got to find a way to gash the defense down field here now second and goal throwing Allen out to the left he's got his tight in Knox the bills are going to go ahead and use their final timeout as they stop it with 14 seconds to go in the game got to give credit where it's due really nice defense on that play the pitch and catch was successful but not any run after it a lot of tired bodies on that field but this is a big play Third and goal here's Allen they'll roll him out right and this is going to be caught he got it it's a touchdown and forget overtime barring a miracle they're going to win this thing in regulation and the kick makes it through but Flags come flying in as well it appears we're going to get a roughing call tacked on K off after the touchdown bass to kick it away they're going to take this up close to the 40 so really good starting field position [Applause] this is first and [Applause] 10 one last throw here for G and it's incomplete so their final drive comes up empty and with that the ball game is over and a fun close ball game comes to an end on that last play Charles they were on the wrong side of Midfield they needed something near a miracle and they couldn't get it done yeah the effort that was good very good in fact they were just a little too far out to get a decent look at the end zone for that last going to bring up second down and he's already got two catches on the opening drive they know he's going to be a handful and sometimes you game plan for that offensively you want to make sure that guy touches the ball and sometimes it just happens naturally and then you change your game plan when he has the hot hand you keep going back to him because he's running routes with confidence as the game goes on and he'll get it down to the 47 here so on the other side of the field now it's first and 10 as they've got things rolling on this drive up the middle it's Montgomery and good space to operate there as he takes this down inside inside the 35 yd line from the 34 now here's first and 10 G going to move his guys around a bit Maverick Maverick go go they'll look to throw here on first down and that one incomplete but now a penalty flag coming in late that might be Pi a little too aggressive defensively and the flag comes out and no one trying to cover is going to like a call going against them but you have to like the effort there went for the interception just unable to get it and the flag did come out now G on first down looking left side and he's got a man it's Montgomery they get him to the ground right on the cusp of the Red Zone after a pick up of five or six and they're getting him involved early you feel like they saw something on tape or they just have a sense with him because he's had a good week of practice or something in that area that they want him involved just as you said they want him to touch it either in the running game or the passing game but they must like the matchups they're getting on second down Montgomery and he gets it inside the 10 to the n it's a good gain of 11 sets him up first and goal they've taken this opening kickoff and marched it right down the field defensively not much resistance and that's the point because my admiration is for the guys moving the ball right now they know what they're doing their plan is working but I flip it over and watch and say okay what are you going to do to change things up because if you don't they going to put that ball in the end zone real soon a terrific opening drive has them knocking on the door first and goal [Applause] back to throw gone and a big loss here as he's taken down the sack there by Brandon Graham coming in and bringing it down to the ground well there's still time to rectify this situation because the Silver Lining they took a sack on first and goal but that close to the goal line that still definitely hurts [Applause] first down a bit of a disaster and now on second and goal back even further now it's gone throw left side complete that's Montgomery down he goes at the 23 a pick up of four driven it down the field nicely here on the opening drive and now it's put up for shut up no doubt about it because to make that type of a drive drive and ultimately kick a field goal would feel very disappointing but I'm just wondering is the head coach thinking is this four down territory Mighty go for it hey Li now Goff on Third and goal oh it's intercepted a drive killer there picked by the former Li and Darius Sligh and the Eagles are going to take possession of the football as they force the turnover on the opening drive a no doubt a very disappointing end to what was a pretty strong opening drive they had three points in their back pocket it was there for them if you don't like what you see just throw it away make sure you get those points on the board don't get too greedy he forced it there you saw the end result hers and the Eagles come up here first and 10 at their own 21 on playaction they'll throw and his throw here is incomplete I think he's got to be careful not to force anything into coverage right there there weren't really any throwing Lanes but the best part for him he's got second and third down to fall back [Applause] on they go here with a former lion it's DeAndre Swift down the left sideline and he will finally be wrestled down at the Lions 33 we're scoreless after one start of the second quarter and it's the Eagles in possession as they've got it with a first and [Applause] [Music] 10 off the play fake here's herds wide open as Watkins he's got him and finally down he goes as they work it inside the 10 to the [Applause] seven here's Swift and he's going to press this one forward as they stop him right around the one second and goal from the one Herz that's complete to Swift out of the backfield touchdown Eagles DeAndre Swift from a yard out and the eagles post the first points of the ball game as they take the lead here in this second quarter didn't have anything downfield swung it out to the flat he did the rest such a staple of so many offenses we see now you know in our discussions with offensive coordinators how many times do they tell us hey this offense is designed for either a touchdown or a check down we saw the check down on that play and boy was it successful we saw a touchdown too now after the touchdown here's Elliot on to kick it away khif Raymond now here's khif Raymond to return a lane opens here he's past the 30 and they'll have good field position here as he's out of bounds up at about the 34 yd line [Music] [Applause] the Detroit offense ready to begin their Drive they threw an interception the first time they had the football wound up leading to a touchdown the other way how do you approach Drive number two going back to your game plan coming in everyone has matchups that they like better oh his early struggles continue here's another one intercepted Zack Cunningham with a pick and he takes this one back into the end zone and the Eagles defense gets a pick six TD now the offense they really not been able to mount anything yet on that drive and the defense made sure they couldn't Mount anything the interception and the return adding six to the scoreboard and that's no small return for a linebacker partner he took M oh they flip it to the kicker he looks like he's going to throw it and it's caught inside the five and he gets in when no one was expecting a fake there but they add two more on to their [Applause] lead so they throw the pick six they'll get another shot at it now as this one's in the air and his guys will get the football right at the 20 yd line take over first 10 their yd the Lions offense ready to kick off their next drive and job one here Charles just keep possession of the football two drives two turnovers to this point you're exactly right doctor hypocritic o Do no harm right now they're Haring themselves on offense I like that no one is mistaking me for a doctor though but thank you Dr Davis back to Montgomery on second down and he is met at the line of scrimmage and he goes down right there third and two G and he bats it away and it falls down incomplete offenses all over continue to be aggressive and most people never turn down a shot at a deep Ball but often times it attracts a little bit of extra attention and it did on that play and that one got knocked away hey 76 76 up here we go on Fourth G able to find the open man that's complete and they nearly get this all the way to Midfield marking down at the 49 so not only do they convert on Fourth but they pick up 22 yds in the process and that's a big pickup of a first down and you know that all week both sides of the ball offense and defense are going through every situation and in this case the offensive guys had the right play dialed up because defensively you work on fourth down situations as well and deflating for the defense they can't get the stop here it's complete to Williams so the completion good for six yds and it's second down [Applause] [Music] again G looking left side and he's got a in that's Montgomery two minutes remaining in this first half of [Applause] football play number seven now coming up on the drive third and five [Applause] St Brown in motion right he'll get it here on the Jet Sweep just a gain of two there and it's going to bring up a fourth down defensively they had that one pretty well figured out yeah one of the things about this play it can be even more effective when you run a lot of motion and there's plenty of times you don't hand it off the offense is not leaving the field they're going to stay out and go for it on Fourth and three here's G work in the middle of the field and he's got a man complete and he's going to get this one down to the edge of the Red Zone defensively a bit of a collapse allowing the fourth down play to result in 23 yds so after the big play on Fourth here's first and 10 from the red zone now G Montgomery under Target in catch and the lions are going to have a first and goal coming up as the tackle made at the three yd line now a play fake and it's G rolling to his right give him a couple on the scramble it's second down they made a nice effort to stick it with a woss for that play but it's going to take more than that to keep from advancing the ball should be an entertaining battle anytime he touchs and runs over the second half of this contest now G and he'll get into the end zone touchdown Detroit it's a one yd touchdown run and the lions are on the board here in the final minute of the first half hey you're down on the scoreboard but now your offense is in close and this is where as a quarterback you say I've got to make a play here doesn't matter whether it's a pinpoint throw or a scramble like this one he takes m into his own hands and delivers a touchdown run extra point by Badgley up and good and this is back to an eight-point [Music] game so the lead trimmed down to eight as here comes the kickoff and it's away this is going to be returned from the middle of the end zone oh a dangerous Return Man showing it here and he is out of bounds as they'll start up pass the [Applause] 30 the Eagles offense set to begin their next drive and with time quickly fading here in the second quarter not sure how aggressively offensively they want to play this I think we'll find out just how much they trust their guys in this situation if they decide to take a shot that stop made by Jack Campbell and you see get this football first as the third quarter gets underway this will be brought out from the middle of the end zone and the decision to come out of the end zone is going to cost him five yds as he's taken down right at the 20 already at the line This Philly offense set to [Applause] go third quarter starts with a run from Swift fights forward for only about a yard up to the 21 well it's time for them to be good teammates right here and what I mean by that is possess the ball for a little while get at least two first downs give their defense a chance to settle down a little bit after they give up a touchdown now he dumps this off over the middle and he gets this one just shy of the 40 down at the 39 a big pickup there for the Eagles first down 18 yds good route good pick up for first down yardage and that is a tough one to cover the angle route because a running back if you're trying to cover that especially if you're in the linebacker spot and a rifles one and that's going to be intercepted picked by Emanuel Mosley loose inside the 30 inside the 10 and he will bring it back an interception return for a lions touchdown well dare I saying it's kind of quid pro quo both defenses Now with an interception return for a touchdown your vocabulary sir well done a golf in that Lions offense staying on the field they'll try for two they'll try and throw for it that's caught and this play is not going to work he's out of bounds well shy of the goal line and the try for two unsuccessful so they'll get another shot on offense following that pick six and now the kick is away and here comes a return from the middle of the end zone and he will be brought down here inside the 12 20 good coverage as he's dropped at the [Applause] 17 the Eagles offense set to begin their next Drive still enjoying the lead here in the third quarter despite their defense giving up that last touchdown now they'll see if they can get the equalizer here on this drive and able to break one tackle but then quickly brought down but a nice little gain 63 yds rushing for him now the ball game from the 24 now here's second and three now a toss for Swift left side and he gets this up to the 34 out of bounds there 10 yds there and an eagle first down we've seen him break off a big run already in this game and for a second that one looked like it might be another yeah I think that any defense would say look we can't let him get to the second level because sometimes he'll break off the big run on his own but often times you get additional blocking into second level which gets you deeper into the secondary now this throw caught left side and they're going to have this across Midfield and inside the 45 and they're going to hurry back to the line now on First and 10 it's swft and he is going to be stopped cold behind the line of scrimmage so the first down run lost a couple now they come up second and 12 they go playaction with hers this is is caught it's brown and it's going to be another first down as they'll get him to the ground at the Lions 23 23 yds the pickup there and a good quarterback facing Zone coverage if he has just a little bit of time to survey the scene that's what's going to happen no doubt about it if there's no pressure he's going to continue to pick them apart because he'll have all that time to find someone open downfield you can only cover for so long so maybe they want to go to a Zone Blitz scheme get a little bit more pressure remember Carolina did that against Denver they lost the game ultimately they dropped the defensive end out and he ended up with an interception in that game in Super Bowl 50 maybe some sort of scheme like that to try and get more pressure at the passing third quarter of a two-point game a good one so far here's second and 10 playaction here's hers this is caught touchdown quz Watkins 23 yds for the touchdown as his guys are able to extend their lead that's one of those long drives where not only do you score but you really tire out the defense too that's a great point because now they've been on the field for a long time them going to the bench trying to make adjustments trying to figure things out but they'll do so fatigued and that flag accepted after the roughing penalty on the pat they'll kick off from 15 yds further up field and this will be a Touchback as that sails over the in [Applause] line GF in this Lions offense set for a first and 10 at their own 25 yd line Lou Lou Lou they'll come out throwing here to start the drive that pass caught it's Williams and they nearly get this all the way to Midfield Mark him down at the 49 looking to speed things up here going with some Tempo y on first down it's G and this is incomplete the coverage keyed in on him since that last completion his way he earned a little more attention on that out and that made it a lot tougher to get a clean throw his way so second and 10 now here in the third quarter from [Applause] Detroit to throw is G and he takes a shot on the release as this will be incomplete when defenses get to the quarterback that quickly a lot of times it's called a jailbreak it wasn't quite that fast but fast enough that he had no time to look down field and set himself to throw the ball and as he tried to do that he was hit and it forced an incompletion this offense in desperate need of a conversion as they come up on third down they'll try the Middle with Montgomery and good space to operate there as he takes this down inside the 35 yd line now a timeout called for by the offense it's just their first so two remaining as they burn one here in this third quarter [Music] yd here's gone and his throw is going to be incomplete well a momentary speed bump there with that throw partner the defense had other ideas and they're trying to mount a small stand before this drive reaches the end zone here's second and 10 [Applause] G that'll be caught it's St Brown and they'll work it inside the 15 yd line before it's all said and done that'll put him at 66 receiving yards now for the game and he's got a first down y [Applause] now a timeout called for by the offense and that's going to leave him with just one timeout remaining still in the third quarter we'll see if that comes back to haunt him we'll be back here's a first and 10 at the 14 yd line off play action here's G and he just throws this one away smart decision here this close to the end zone and it brings up second down and when youve thrown as many interceptions as he has in this one you definitely start getting a little hesitant to throw the ball out wide because that's Prime pick six territory that time he made sure the only guy was going to catch it was sitting in the third row on second and 10 G he'll get this underneath to mgber and in for the Lions touchdown David Montgomery a 14 yd touchdown and the lions are able to get a score back in the final stages of this third [Applause] quarter the CD you know he's got great options of wide receiver tied in but there he looks to The Back Field and it results in a touchdown I love how you laid that out so many options you may me forget about some of the ones that you should be covering and they made them pay one didn't they you forget about the guys in the back field they're eligible too extra point by Badgley up and good and the lead is down to two so the lead shaved to two now as the kickoff is away this is going to be returned from the middle of the end zone and he will be taken down here on the return on what will wind up being the final play of this third quarter we have played three quarters you're watching the NFL on EA [Applause] [Music] Sports already at the line This Philly offense set to go and they've seen their lead nearly extinguished after that last score but bottom line they are still on top with the football he's got him in complete and he has a big gain inside the 40 before being dropped a heck of a way to start the fourth quarter just south of 40 yds on the pickup well partner I'm not sure how this drive is going to end but how about the way they flip field position there a nice attacking play that picked up a heck of a chunk of yardage so how about that for a chain mover they're all the way down inside the 40 now for first and 10 off the play fake here's Herz that one complete down to field with Smith touchdown Philadelphia Devonte Smith 38 yards and the Eagles get an important score there to extend their lead here in this fourth quarter so a heck of a drive right there with a game potentially hanging in the balance a very good drive and now conversion to make it a two-score game and a solid lead the Eagles going to take the first of their timeouts that'll leave them with two remaining we'll be back after [Applause] this Elliot now to add the extra point and that makes it a nine-point [Music] [Applause] game now after the touchdown here's Elliot on to kick it away here comes khif Raymond from his in zone first the Detroit offense ready to begin their Drive well that last touchdown we just saw what an important one now it's back to a two-score deficit for This Crew as they take the field here and they are in desperate need of finding the end zone they'll fake the handoff now G oh what a heck of an effort there as he'll make the diving catch and he gets this one just shy of the 40 they'll Mark him down at the 30 nine from up near the 40 now after the big play to start here's another first and 10 G now looks to throw flushed out right and he will go down outside of the pocket for a sack tried to get away but could not Fletcher Cox able to take him down it's a loss of three so after the sack they'll come up on a still manageable second and 13 a give this is Montgomery and he'll be brought down just shy of Midfield at the 49 yd line the Lions on third down they've only converted once in four tries they're looking at third in the nose of the football they'll run it here's Montgomery and he is going to have all liance first down at least at first glance as he'll spot the football just beyond the marker they find a way to convert on Third and inches first G on first down and he slings one that's incomplete nice progress down the field was halted by that incompletion they could try for some safe yards here to get things moving again or keep throwing it and pushing it down field to try and pick up bigger yardage hand off comes to Montgomery and great blocking downfield as he's got this almost to the 35 yd line 81 yds rushing for him now as he has been tremendous all day long two minutes left to play in this football game here on EA Sports One timeout at their disposal but more pressing is the need for two scores obviously here's first and 10 waa now [Applause] gone this one swung out to Montgomery and he'll cross over out of bounds right at the 25 they certainly had success throughout this contest getting him the ball in the passing game and there he picks up another first down whatever they saw going into this one they've been able to capitalize on it and no adjustment has been made to take it away here's first down now [Applause] G that's going to be caught touchdown Jared G to Alan rth St Brown and the Lions have made it a onore game again here the fourth okay game on don't go anywhere yet you got a onore game now probably going to rely on the onside kick coming up yeah they have to it's not a high percent play but it's better than not having a chance at all and that's when you put your leapers and your flyers on one side get that high hop and hope that one of the guys can come up with it and on the other side get that hands team ready no doubt about it set now to kick this one away and off it [Applause] goes this will be brought out from the middle of the end zone and that decision to bring it out ends up not being a good one him about five yds as he's tackled at the [Applause] 20 the Eagles offense set to begin their next drive and barring mistakes they should be able to kneel this one out and finish it off and there's only one timeout remaining on the defensive side of the ball so that doesn't really come into play either the Lions quickly now going to use the last of their timeouts as they'll talk things over prior to this upcoming second down [Applause] play he's going to get it again just looking to get forward and protect the ball and they'll get eight out of this before being stopped at the 28 and the offense moving quickly to the line here's Herz to throw that's complete to Swift Out of the back field and that should do it he's got a first down and the eagles they can run it out from here but they picked up a little bit of yardage there and now in this situation should be in no hurry to run a play really fast let the clock wind down now it looks like he'll throw here and he can't get a throw off he's taking down what a huge play at this point in the game flying in for that sack Aiden Hutchinson they tried to go with a little play action there but nobody on the defensive side bit Yeah they adjusted in time and in a big way and ultimately got the sack on offense sometimes you're running play action just to set up a certain blocking technique in this case none of it worked now the Eagles will use the second of their timeouts that'll leave them with just one remaining in the four play they'll come up facing third and five herds that is intercepted picked by Emmanuel Mosley and the lions are going to have it here at their own 32 yd line my how the tables have turned now they were trying to Salt this one away but that interception potentially a game changer and I've just got to think to myself at this point of the game I I know you've been aggressive I know that you're Mo and that's fine and all those teams that talk about all gas no breaks you better have the emergency lever to pull occasionally they could have used it right there they put themselves in a tough spot with that [Applause] interception G going to shift him around back to throw throwing left side line there but it's incomplete and let's face it this defense has had it Sheriff struggles all game long and they know that they can put it all behind them if they defend well here in the two-minute drill excellent coverage right there to force the [Music] incompletion they'll try again here second and 10 [Applause] gof now to throw wow and that is incomplete so after all of this it comes down to one final play and just think of what it's going to be because from this distance you got to be prepared for everything hooking laterals tip balls you name it a lot of laterals after a cat just got to be prepared stay on your feet defensively and Tackle someone on third down they go Montgomery and he'll take this for a short gain on what will prove to be the final play of this ball game and a fun close ball game comes to an end on that last play Charles they were on the wrong side of Midfield they needed something near a miracle and they couldn't get it done yeah the effort that was good very good in fact they were just a little too far out to get a decent look at the end zone for that last opportunity couldn't
