game circled all the way back to the beginning of the off season so you got to be able to play Under Control with passion with enery fires into traffic it's picked off God room on the return and he's going to take it all the way done down buffalo possession nice job by the defense coming out and striking first in [Applause] this what kind of field position can he help him with on the return he was looking for the big return there but he'll go out of Bounds at the 28 Utah has a back on the offense coming onto the field the big thing now don't get rattled by that last pick six David N it was a big mistake uh obviously defense took advantage of it but you got to put it behind you Jesse I'm sure you know a thing or two about throwing a pick six and and how to rebound I believe I've only thrown one in my life but yes I do because of that singular instance I'll say this you can't let that play Beat you twice you got to go out not try to get it all back here in one play Just execute the offense toss sweep to the [Applause] right and they'll get it to the 39 yd line and they'll move the chains the offense set for a first down [Applause] play he leaves it with his back not a whole lot of room there three yards maybe second and seven they have relished this tight victory since the last time these two got together Palmer it's just winning is beautiful and when you beat your rival and you get those bragging lights Palmer it is a glorious thing for a whole year and sometimes longer that's the best thing about rivalry games like this for the winning team whoever pulls this one out here today their fans are going to be bragging about this one for a long time the youths are marching down the field back to throw it's ryy finds the tight end and a nine yard gain on first down leaves him with second and short really important for a ranked team going into a environment like this one not to give the underdog reason to believe yes reason to believe and don't give the fans reason to get jacked up and excited come out early be in a business mode mindset now they're really starting to threaten as they pick up the first down at the 34 yd line and the yous come to the line with a new set of downs easy Red Pass it's complete and a good job in coverage there as they stop it after just a few great play by the cornerback he was just way too physical at the point of attack he beat his man trying to block him and he tackled that receiver on the screen quarterback wants to throw on second down working that left side now that is exactly what you're looking for when you talk explosive plays the defense finally able to make the stop down to the 12 yd line it's first down he wants to throw extending the play B a little time let's It Go finds his big tight end couldn't quite nudge it in not sure you could get much closer but it'll be first and goal really good job when this play went off script and that's the job of a tight end find the soft spot and stay in the quarterback's field of vision yeah and it's just frustrating to play this kind of style of quarterback that's always going to extend the play make it harder on you as a defense and it's caught touchdown you touchdown and what a nice start for this offense the throw game getting working getting the touchdown pass this quarterback getting a little bit of confidence this passing game getting in a rhythm nice start for this offense lining up for the pat hit that one with some aggression for the point after so it's a 73 yd touchdown drive and they close that drive going to the air for the final few inches and we're all square as he's set to kick it away here's the return from inside is 10 he's able to sneak his way across the 20 and steps out at the 21 so the offense will try to get something going with their first possession typically the last thing a defense wants is to have a backer on a wide receiver but we may see some of that today guys and typically you don't see linebackers that can run like this guy and that's why they feel okay letting him cover this Dynamic wide receiver one-on-one yeah and and feel okay it's not going to be a good thing you better get your hands on him early put your physicality let that win it ain't going to be your speed and he's able to shed one tackle and pick up pretty good yard line well it's plays like that that will help this offense stay in Rhythm all game long if you can have that kind of success on first down running the football it just opens up your entire Playbook moving for the big pickup on first down leaves him with second and one looking for a crease it's Hayden runs through the tackle he had all kinds of company as soon as he got and he had to fight his way back just to get to the line of scrimmage that's the end of entertaining first quarter and we are all locked up after one as we take a quick look at some [Music] stats they fought to a standstill in the first let's see who gets the edge early in the second back on the field after the break and we'll start the quarter here on third down the offense showing motion from from the tight end trying to get a read on the D trying to pick it up on the ground they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one and the buffalos will call on their punt team able to get the first one of the day away they did have to send him out three times in that Victory last week they'll put that return to a stop at the 33 but the offense set up in pretty good field position and now the the offense will come onto the field again this could be a real turning point in the game they scored a touchdown they got to stop and now a chance to break the tie yeah this offense has got it cooking man and how about the defense great job getting that stop getting the football right back to the hot hand now this offense Palmer has a chance to take the lead you can see the offense too they that type of play can really give you a shot of momentum trying to move the sticks on third down through the air and he's got it inside the 25 and he cruises his way to the house touchdown UT well this offense is top 10 in the country in points per game because they've got a lot of speed and they've got home run hitters they score fast they don't need 10 plays to go down the field you saw it right there they've recruited well they've got Playmakers they are going to be a problem for defenses all year long getting set for the point after ex [Applause] point and the extra point is true and they're on top by seven and let's check in with Kevin Conor that and how about that I know Kevin and those guys will be keeping an eye on it for us he'll pull it on the re and he won't quite get there before boy after that pickup just a few inches to go for the the sticks with a first down all right well look I know the defense was feeling real good about their run de coming into this one and how they've been playing up to this point but finally David the offense breaks through and they finally generate something positive on the ground and I can't tell you how easy it is when you're going to throw the ball consistently and I know it I'm going to pin my ears back and I'm going to get to the quarterback it makes life really easy on the defensive line but when you can have balance now the defense doesn't know what's coming they need more of this that they're going to be successful on offense movement here from the tight end they'll keep it on the ground really nice stop there from this senior leader all right well the offense here they're trying to get this run game established they obviously don't break off a long run there but they're just trying to find their footing at this point third down after the run they'll try to bully their way for the first they get him on the ground but not before he gets enough for the first down we reached the two-minute warning and we have ourselves a ball game and they have a chance to take the lead here before the half the buffalos are on the move looking to pass it's Sanders good quickness to grab it off the bals gets him down at the 26 big play there give him 15 yds on the gain and they move the sticks he'll come out throwing on first down and he just overshot his man and threw it out of bounds incomplete offense walks to the line for play number seven of the drive right back to the air on second and 10 catch in the middle it's Hunter they make the stop trying to pick up just a little bit of a time to get to that first down Mar already in Chip Shot field goal range at the 21 but this third and short they're still thinking touchdown got it and he's into the end zone touchdown box yeah the passing game comes through man and we need more of that in the second half an extra point away from tying this football game trailed a little bit in the first half stayed calm if this passing game can continue to heat up look out for second half all tied up and just about set to kick it away looking for an alley from inside his own 10 nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the 16 the Utah offense returns ready to go back on the attack after standing on the sideline and watching that long touchdown Drive they really really need to put something together to give their defense a rest and that's a real thing man like football cuz it's a two-prong problem you've got to score points in answer but you've also got to take your time and give your defense an opportunity to get their win and this set of downs get started from the 33 first and 10 looking to move it through the air that's caught it's Stanley and he goes out of bounds after a nice pickup on that one yeah and I think you've just seen how the quarterback has so much confidence in this guy catching the ball too right receivers aren't open tight ends aren't open he knows he can find him running out of the back field or if he lines up a wide receiver this dude can get open and he can make positive things happen after he has the ball nowhere close on that one as he got thrilled trying to deliver the football and now they face third down to throw it's ryy he's got it man and he's knocked down immediately but not before he moves the chains the offense will have to use its first time out of the half the youths have it with a first and 10 he's looking to throw it makes the catch it's Stanley open space at the 25 ripped off a huge chunk play on that one as he gets the first down before he steps out of bounds well after that last play you can see how electrifying this guy is and how special he is after he makes the catch if I'm on offense I'm trying to find a lot of ways to get him touches in this game that's reeled in it's Woods they'll immediately call timeout well he made the grab but the doors closed quickly after that and I like this I want to find my running back but man he's got to do a little more damage after the catch I need I need a stiff arm I need a spin move I need something where he can make that guy Miss and can pick up a bunch of yards and make it get a big play out of it he's brought down quickly minimal gain there still a bit short of the first down offense calls a timeout here critically important to make sure they have the right play call and everyone on the same page here looking to throw for it the throw he caught it and he will score touchdown you and I just love the execution by this offens late in the half man you want to take the lead you want to get that momentum on your side and they do it they finish it with the passing game and I tell you what heat that passing game up you can keep this lead keep the momentum and keep putting up numbers ready to try the point after the extra point and the extra point is true and they're on top by seven an 84 yd drive there and the score comes on a 12yd touchdown pass they're lining up to boot it away set this one away and it'll be a Touchback the ball will come out to the 25 yd [Applause] line time dwindling away as they try to put points on the board right before the half Al [Applause] they go to the ground got to be smart patient great vision uses all of that to get to the 29 that's going to wrap up the first half here and now we join Kevin with the halftime update phas what an environment there today all the animosity and Flatout hatred that comes with a good old fashion rivalry game on display in that first half and it's been said football is a game of Ines and guess what based on the comparison between third down conversion rate today and the average yard per play how can you argue that I mean the low-lying fruit is to look at some of the explosive plays we've seen and panic but really this game is going to come down to which team is more efficient when they have the ball and how they play when it matters most with that let's throw it back to the guys to see how this rivalry matchup plays out all right Kevin about ready to get things cranked back back up here and he'll just take a knee and this drive will start at the 25 and the Colorado offense is coming back onto the field they start this third quarter one possession game and hoping to get an early drive going this offense is ready and they're ready to take the field here and see if they can get something established they don't have to change everything and reinvent the wheel they've had some successes in the first half so let's get that continued here on the opening ground yeah and I love getting that break at half to go talk with my coaches and pick my offensive coordinator's brain so I know exactly what I need to do to attack this defense and I get ball first coaches always harp about staying ahead of the chains and when you can run with that type of efficiency on first down man you are doing just that they can really be aggressive after that last play it's second and three the give to the bat that's what you expect from a senior don't don't give them any extra yards great tackle there they have it at the 43 third and short trying to avoid making a decision on fourth down they'll put the tight end in motion on Third and short trying to impose their will and move the chains they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one and the buffalos will bring the punt team onto the field this will be the second time they've had to kick it away found a little Running Room on that one picked up some nice blocks before he's right out of bounds Utah has it back on the offense coming onto the field David they love to do what they did last time and put this one in the end zone you ain't lying they did a great job the offense and that pressure just engulfed him a sack for this defense I think going into halftime trailing this defense knew that they were going to have to start making plays here in the second half and early in the third quarter here on this drive they get a sack that is really good news for this defense they'll try the toss to the left he's knocked down in the back field a swarming defense and he'll lose seven I love DBS that want to tackle and they get an opportunity to look like Heroes on these outside toss plays physical play by the corner there getting the ball carried down he's going up top he's got it downfield for a huge game all by himself down the middle and he'll take it to the house he got loose touch down Utah now they've got a little Breathing Room Factor momentum can be in these types of rivalry games David So this game's still far from over and this is where my leadership ship and my experience comes into play when you got guys that have been through these fires been through these rivalry games you know the swings happen quick now you got to swing it back your way 2 colado 14 he thought about bringing that out for a half second but he'll take a knee and they'll bring it to the 25 Colorado has the ball back and the buffalo's hoping to put their team in Prime position on offense now we'll get a chance to see if they can answer that last score trailing by 14 yeah and at this point of the game I feel like offensively you should go back to what's been working for you in this game don't be afraid to dial up plays that you've already had success with running it and throwing it it's okay to repeat plays down 14 at this point and I would also say Palmer kind of understanding that my defense is not playing great so I know offensively I got to put some good possessions together here make something happen on this side of the guys this offense is already reeling down multiple possessions really need to cash in on this drive they'll move the running back to try to force the defense to adjust and I don't think he got there no they stopped him short he does not pick up the first down and the buffalos line up to punt it away let's see if he can help the coverage team out with this one and he's going to get it up to about the 29 yd line before he's brought down UT the Utah offense returns ready to go back on the attack this has been exactly the way you draw things up David the offense has really been moving the football and it's been great and he breaks into the open inside the 30 the 10 and the defense couldn't Corral him and he took it all the way touchdown you the Mantra is always face finish and they're trying to do that here in the regular season with this week 12 performance man this guy is such a weapon because he's so dangerous if he gets into the second level great vision and then David shows you the speed just straight Wheels erasing angles a lot of times when you're chasing guys that are so fast like this you're like I got him I got him no I do not what a big long touchdown run pad those stats young fell he'll try to add another to their lead and the extra point will tack another one onto this lead let's go to the studio now and check in with Kevin Connors Kevin what do you got all right guys a little update on what else is happening in college football this weekend SMU is getting smoked today this is an eye opener it's the type of game that can just demoralize a fan base they're trailing by 14 to it's Sanders he's got an open man oh look out there he goes the 10 touchdown camarado and once he found some daylight it was time to make a house call and this receiver is on fire he's got all the skills that you look for in a big time Target that's already his second touchdown of the game and the extra point is good but they still Trail 3521 lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown Drive fielded In The End Zone it's Stanley I know he thinks he can house every return but sometimes you just have to take a knee as he stopped at the 14 Utah has it back and the offense coming onto the field here they're trying to get to the edge across the 25 he's got room coming out attacking from deep in their own end and they're out at the 26 for the first down play caller love it offensively when you can run the football when the other team knows you're going to do it that is called imposing your will and here in the fourth quarter with the lead very first play of the drive you break off a nice run he might just call the exact same play right again here not able to hook up they incomplete and you see those balls in practice sometimes they're just off the mark you don't you don't know how to control you don't know what goes wrong but sometimes QBs Miss and it's an incompletion he's got it on the right he knew exactly where he wanted to go with that one and they've got enough for the first down defense just hasn't had an answer for this guy he has been on point this is about as good as I've seen him play at the quarterback position and here in the fourth quarter with the big lead he's still taking shots starts to scramble to the left he makes the connection and he'll step out of bounds after a very productive play out of this is so interesting right now watching this offense stay aggressive they've got the lead in the fourth quarter and you're thinking at home we got to just run the ball and try to bleed the clock they found something on defense they're taking advantage of two straight completions I won't be surprised if they throw it again R play was a near disaster now dealing with second and 13 they'll try to get the edge with the toss play here and a nice run there before the defense finally makes the stop yeah this offense is going to try to run the ball and do it in a variety of ways you'll see Zone reads you'll just see straight downhill running we'll get the toss play going as well to try to keep this defense on theels really nice job to convert that third down and they've got it at the 33 and the youth have it with a first and 10 they've softened them up with the run now to throw it strong pass rush gets to the quarterback and they get get him at the 46 the and that is a great job by the defense containing and constricting the pocket there was nowhere for the QB to go and he did not have a lot of time he went down quick and this defense is bringing the heat on the offensive line he's taking the shot and he's got it inside the 15 yd line slippery slide find his way and ran away from the crowd into the end zone touchdown Utah they put another score on the board as they try to push this winning streak to three and the extra point splits the uprights and they're up a full three touchdowns a 21o cushion in the four 42 colado 21 kickoff team has the ball teed up and they're about ready to go he'll start the return inside his five just never had a chance to shake loose and he'll be brought down at the 24 and the Colorado offense is coming back onto the field the deficit is large hope is fainting but they'll try to finish strong they made a lot of mistakes in this game and that's why it looks like they're going to take the L lots of things to improve on lots of things to coach upon and at this point I think if you're a head coach David you're just trying to see which of your guys aren't witing late yeah which is a real thing by the way who's going to compete to the final whistle who what do we talk about all the time coaches are always preaching to these guys don't worry about the Schoolboard just compete as hard as you can so good opportunity to try to finish this game with something positive they'll hurry to the line with the clock still running first down comes out throwing on first down and recepted never really got that return cranking but the offense is set up at the 30 the number one objective for a defense is to make the offense onedimensional well when they're trailing by this much late in the game they're onedimensional they have to pass the football we can bring more speed on the field you see it and he's running in the open he's at the 20 touchdown Y and the beat down has ensued they've now extended that lead and they're trying to hang on for a week 12 Victory man it's easy to call plays when I got guys like this who can take the ball and rip it 70 plus to the house how about the speed he showed you a little bit of Wiggle this dude's got it all nice touchdown run by the running back [Applause] lining up to add another kick the kick is up and good and put one more on the lead they couldn't draw up a drive better than that one just gashed him for the big play in the running game one snap one touchdown he'll bring it out from inside his own 10 he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic but they get him on the ground at the 20 Colorado has the ball back and the Buffalo hoping to put their team in Prime position on offense this offense has pretty much been stuck in the mud the entire game it's been a frustrating performance Jesse Yeah and listen you can't be hanging your head just yet this game's not over this coaching staff is still evaluating their player so if you're on the field right now you've got to finish this game You' got to try to prove something well the game is over to be clear they're not coming back but I I hear what you're saying keep fighting keep showing your coaches it matters and maybe find something positive here late that you can build on for the weeks to come and he was looking over the middle and couldn't make the connection and this defense has put a game together like it is hard to put all the facets of Defense together run defense pass defense they've been so good man dialed in you could tell they were ready they were fast they were physical they dominated of this football game he's run out of bounds but not before turning in a big pickup and moving the sticks for a first down the buffalos come to the line with a fresh set of downs he wants to throw it again snagged in the middle it's hard they make the tackle at the 36 but they're in plus territory now with the 15 yd pickup they've got it at the 36 on First and 10 he's going to pass how about that play to get a hand in there and force the incompletion and this is just one of those days man where everything has gone wrong right like they just haven't been in a rhythm they haven't they haven't got it going and never built the momentum this is this is one of those days that you learn from you try to grow from a lot of things that we're going to show in the film that people aren't going to like but hopefully you can learn from it and do better next time this drive was clicking along but after a couple of misfires threatening to stall out out on Third and 10 looking for a man it's Sanders quarterback feeling that pressure and he's knocked down at the 42 it's pretty obvious this defense came into this one knowing they were going to have to play a complete game until there were zeros on the clock especially against this quarterback you cannot take your foot off the gas and that's exactly what they're doing here late in the fourth quarter they're still bringing it and they get another [Applause] sack toss to the outside still on his feet at the 45 oh and the defense in Chase mode and they finally get him down at the 35 big reason why his team has the lead right now late is because of his performance running the football well over a 100 yards in this game they knew that they were going to have to really put a lot of pressure on him he'd have to shoulder the load and he has delivered for his offense all game long they'll use a timeout with 26 seconds left on the clock well this guy's been eating them alive all game long finally though David you wonder if the defense has been able to make some adjustments find something positive to help slow this guy down hey baby steps right that's a tackle for a loss I know he's got over a hundo on the game but his defense is definitely going to have to be more aggressive commit more guys to stopping that bad man after the strong run on second down third down coming do they do it again looking to take a shot and we have breaking news they score yet another touchdown and they say play to the final whistle this offense took it to hard scoring late maybe they could have wasted the clock they made no doubt about it this one's over [Applause] lining up to tack one more onto that lead and with the extra point the lead is even bigger quick work on that scoring drive just four plays and they top it off with a 31 yd toss for six1 on the move season they put together three consecutive won seemed to
