the Rocky Mountains provide the backdrop in Boulder Colorado and if you're looking for the Buffalo they ain't hard to find as we wind our way toward the end of another college football season one of the grand tradition is paying tribute and respect to those who have just poured their souls into the success of this program and honor the seniors on senior day as we'll see a squad from the Big 12 the Utah youth taking on the winners of 11 straight the Colorado buffal glad to have you with us for EA Sports college football I Davis David Po and Jesse Palmer with me in the booth ready to te it up and the youth will get us started with the opening kickoff on the run from inside own didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 so the Colorado off takes the field and the adrenaline is pumping on overdrive in games like this guys and it's crucial to get your emotions under control no doubt in rivalry games you got to limit the got to limit the penalties cuz those will kill you and you got to come out under control it means so much we know that the fans are all talking about but it's just football on first down leaves him with second and four they'll go to the ground slam to the ground but not before he gets the first down the defense it was going to be a guys are going to have to at the point of gets and Tack couldn't stop the off picking up that first on [Applause] that they'll give it to the back and he's swallowed up at the line of scage by the big defensive tackle we had a the last time these two teams played and no reason to expect anything else between these two bitter Rivals attention to detail and I think the sense of urgency David in a game like this just goes well and I think managing the emotions in these type of games you know last and theck off he was looking for a little more on that return but he hands this off a field at the 35 well statistically this defense is not one of the better units against the they're trying to change that here today what a great job tracking the ball down making a play on it stabbing it out of the air for a big interception early that should be massive for their confidence first down for this offense from the gun the ground game good pick up on that play it'll bring up second and four you want to talk about making it easy for an offensive coordinator pick up a bunch of yards on first down make that second really really manageable that's a great job by the offense they try to pop a on thew up the middle ISU for No Gain coming to the line looking for that first down on Third and from the 29 looking to throw for it fires and picked off and they drag him down after a good return on the interception and the senior just took that one out of it the other way Colorado has the ball back and the buffal hoping to put their team in Prime position on offense he's looking to throw it fires to the middle it's complete a quick tackle but he's got ready for the first down here's this off with a set of [Applause] down looking for a physical attack from The Gun Room at the 35 a huge gain on that one before he ran out of bounds and he has the first down well there's the offense trying to take advantage of this running back speed I like the call hand off to the left to the outside put him inace and let him go to [Applause] work they're in the red zone and they'll pass it coming after him they get to him as throws can't find his man as he took a shot trying to deliver that football and it'll be second down couldn't make the connection last time let's see if they throw it again pressure coming and he got smacked just as he released the pass it's incomplete this quarterback is going to have to be precise with his timing and his accuracy he's already thrown a pick that one got swed away guys we're only in the first quarter these windows are tiny to throw into on Third and long trying to have a big completion here and that's where they'll Mark him but a very play and they'll move the chff line up first on the ground into the end zone he goes Buffalo they can use this first score to sort of set the tone guys in this rivalry match up feel good to come out getd involv get thees out of the Palmer when you're playing in a big rivalry yeah I think momentum is always AIG thing in but in rivalry games that because everybody going to feed off that first score almost ready to kick it away after scoring the touchdown [Applause] and no chance at a return here they'll start this drive at their own 25 Utah has it back and the off coming on to the field boy they hope this next Drive is more productive after throwing a pick last time Jesse Yeah and the coaches did a good job on the sideline there just talking to the Young quarterback and making to turn the page calm him down to go out and refocus this drive yeah and some people do that better than others but you got to show some trust in him maybe get the ground game going around him a little bit with this system F now to throw grab over the middle it's Stanley really good move the CH and he's got4 he'll PLL it on the re they'll pick up four second and Six coming you know this Zone replay is something they read over and over and over in practice this guy can run it and execute it in his sleep good decision there keeping the football grab behind the line it's Stanley he almost pick up the first down on that one but he'll be just a little bit at the 25 they're in field goal range but they love to convert this third and short to the ground to try to pick up the first they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one and here comes the field goal unit all the fake he's going to throw it and the Freshman will up a sack it's nice to be a river gam all but when it goes [Applause] against off the play fake on first down to throw can't find his man as he took a shot trying to deliver that football and it'll be second down couldn't make the connection last time let's see if they throw it again they'll run it and he's to the 48 yd line that'll be good enough for a first down here's off with a FR set him down they'll ride the hand and maybe they want to try somewhere else because there is nothing doing in the middle of this defense and it really doesn't matter what the decision is on the RPO when your defensive line can reset the line of scmm like that get off blocks and make [Applause] points they'll try the Run he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple that back had absolutely nowhere to run the football actually is he counting I think he's counting to there's only 11 guys on defense third down conversions are a huge and this one would be a doozy if they can pull it off from the gun wants to pass wide open down field touchdown colado what a grab and goal for the score this is a receiver that is so good running routs you never know which way he's going to go at the top of because he doesn't he doesn't where he's going the timing on corner is so important the quarterback did a nice job getting it out early so his receiver could make the catch and take it into the end they'll try to add another to their lead and the extra point makes it 14 nothing a very efficient five scoring drive and the final 53 y coming courtesy of that the kickoff team takes the field to and they desperately wanted to attempt a return but decided not to instead they'll take the touch one final play before the end of the quarter here's the hand off and a gain here in the first quarter will come to a close guys colado has the lead here they largely dominated this first quarter as indic by the St just about ready to get things started here in the second we'll see if they continue to fle muscle after the three yd pickup they come to the line Second and seven got it in the middle it's Stanley really good job to pick up a chunk of yard and get it out to the 39 yd line here comes the offense on first down and off from the shotgun they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one defense now at stats of what is the yards per rush they look at how many negative plays they can create CU why now you look at second down man it just BEC very predictable for this off nice job great first as an having sucess on a like thatly in the game just opens up all the possibilities of your play moving forward play action running the B throwing the ball screens anything is at your disposal at this point and the defense but they finally wrestleing down short of the first down the yous will call on their punt team a fairly short the sidelines not and the off is coming back onto the field they wanted to set theone strike quickly Jesse they've done exactly that up to touchdown and this quarterback has been dialed in too he's been so good reading coverage going to the open guy is with the football they've been up and down the field so far and this defense needs to make something happen right now you've already given up a couple touchdowns your off has got nothing going still early in the game get a stop create some momentum for your offense finds man on the left finally out of BS but he rolling with a first down set of downs after that completion looking to go up top on first down knew where he wanted to go with couldn't find his Target it's incomplete they'll spread the defense out going five wide on second and 10 he's looking to throw showing the arm strength to the left it's caugh down field makes the grab and a nice gain gets it to the 35 and the buffal are moving quickly down the field trying to find his man on first down firing to the right complete brought down at the 21 y takes the hand off it's you'll take this time five yard on the first down play I don't know man if I'm on defense here and I'm watching the way my D Line's get manhandled I might have to guys in the Box I might have to sacrifice his safety and try to get more hats close to the line of scrimmage to slow this running back down and there on aen down he goes well obviously at this point in the first half the defense is finding themselves in the hole you just get the feeling if they're going to get back in this they're going to need more plays like that they're going to need sacks they're going to need turnovers they're going to have to create negative plays to get themselves some momentum they run into a bit of trouble here third and long from the 25 the last thing they want is to get knocked out of field goal range looking down and he needs a bunch how about that play to get a hand in there and force the incompletion and now on fourth down they'll try a field goal it's good and that will extend their lead fur and he knocks another one through how about this kick good way to start off your season right like what do you have at the spot sometimes you don't know can he make those kicks starting off hasn't missed one yet been very dependable for this squad and good work by the coverage team to get the Return Man Down On The Ground the Utah offense returns ready to go back on the attack these guys have taken some body blows in the first half but now a chance to do something to feel a little better going into half Reese they got to respond now they got to put points on the board right here cut into this deficit create a little bit of momentum because this one's going to get out of hand otherwise yeah there are a lot of offenses out there that might just say okay let's just regroup and figure it out this offense doesn't have time to do that they've got to be aggressive they've got to trying to beat the D and that one's incomplete worth taking a shot there but couldn't hook up they'll try to get on the same page this time second and 10 from the 31 he's looking to throw fires to the wide out CAU over the middle it's Alexander really confident throw and catch there big pick up and they have a first down linebackers shuffling around trying to keep the quarterback from getting a read unloads to the wide out fires into traffic it's picked off and the senior the ball out of the and gave it back to his off this is obviously not a great start for this quarterback here two interceptions already in this game he's got to do a much better job with his decision trying to start the drive with a pass oh he drops theball he right the of the field inad it'll be second down couldn't make the connection last time let's see if they throw it again they go to the ground breaks the tackle they ripped off seven on that one now a third down and three trying to pick up a first down wide out in motion they'll go to the on third andag in the middle it'ser The Tackle is but he's got on the doorstep ofing it in for the off quarterback checking off wants to go up top looking to scramble and he rolls the house well that didn't necessarily go as but it I love down in the Red Zone this quarterb didn't have anybody open didn't Panic he just decided man I'm going to go do this myself I'm going to use my wheels on the board and he put through the extra point they got the late touchdown on the board now about to kick it away and hoping the defense can keep them from answering he'll start the return inside five not a lot oface to be found good Hustle by the coverage team and they stop him at the 21 Utah has back and the off coming on the field this late in a half you're behind you'd love to create something before the break to build momentum Jess you've also had some mises on offense big part of why you're losing the game right now I take it into half make my adjustment and come out ready in the second half yeah I'm going to take it in half time too but I'm trying to put some points up right here be aggressive set the tone be like Hey listen this is what you're going to get in the second half so find something really quickly you can go toag on the Stanley and he is going to lose to run as he is forced out of bounds and the buffal will try to kick this one deep to get way in the second half on the move from inside is five and the returner is STO Utah offense returns ready to go back on the attack when you're facing a deficit like this one to start the second half you really can't afford to waste a single possession fresh start here in the second half that's the only way you can look at this if you're on offense things did not go your way there in the first it starts with one play to get our confidence going just got to get something going early here on this dve one play Stay aggressive now now I think I can be even more aggressive on Fourth Downs because obviously I've built a deficit my defense has got to make some plays for me to they make catch is to keep Drive Alive tring by multiple possessions and it's getting late shotgun snap wants to throw it on third got him down field all kinds of Running Room he's at the 10 and he ran away from the crow and he'll take it [Applause] in they line up to go for two quarterback's abilities to read the field is huge and also the anticipation to be able to throw the football Jess and hit a guy in so he can get run after the catch and get in the end zone that was a nice job by the quarterb yeah it's critical David listen lot of touchdown passes aren't thrown into the end zone you got to read the coverage hit the open guy and the rest the 2 and almost even with the would have gotten with a touch back has the ball back and the buffal hoping to put their team in Prime position on offense wound up with a touchdown they'll try to do it again yeah so I don't expect this offense to change too much re they had a great Drive they got the touchdown everything I would expect him to keep pushing this ball down and just imagine if they could put another [Applause] touchdown they'll try to bully their way for the first and he's a real no man tackled in this no gain land well the defense got the stop there on Third and one let's see if they can do it again here on Fourth and inches then I just got to find a way to fall forward be physical this all we go for this is probably one of those plays where you wish you had a doover button so you could just punt that thing away they'll start this drive with a passman able to get home with theck yeah and I like teams that are aggressive when offenses go empty and spread you out you only got so many guys to protect your quarterback and the linebacker comes through and hammers the quarterback and get [Applause] and the to the Seline a but not enough for the first wide when [Applause] canat field goal here he'll have to generate power and some accuracy a 50 y the left half and the kicker delivers the three ball to finish off the drive well that kid just show off his hammer for a leg he it EAS so they're lining up to kick it off after that last Drive put a three spot on the board and now the defense will try to shut him down out of the end zone he stopped than 20 at the 19 and probably wishes he' just taken the touch back the offense is coming back onto the field I know they put up really good numbers on offense but David they're starting to feel a little game pressure right now exactly that scoreboard starting to get a little bit tighter cutting into that lead now you know every possession matters a little pressure for this offense yeah and so you can't get tight right the best players on this offense now need to step up and they need to start making play you got to identify where those one-onone got three on first down it's second and seven [Applause] he's looking to throw catch in the middle it'ser he's down quickly minimal G there still a bit of the first down here they come trying tot a third and from the 28 quarterback will Audible wants to throw on third down the quick out he's right out of bounds a that and it'll be a first willle the line def the stud every third down situation you got to be ready for what they do how they do it and then be able to adjust great job by the off now a first down from the 45 yd line Ed the play fake now to throw fires to the wide out he makes a catch had cimet ACC throw and get the first down and the buffal have it with a first and 10 he'll just keep slinging it got it set up on the outside and he'll go out of bounds this aial attack just continues to this defense into tiny [Applause] slices a first down R in the red zone and he'll step into the end zone DOD down prision locking up front the open Lane and the running back follow it yeah it's pretty easy to follow an offensive line that makes holes and gives youav all the way to theend what an unbelievable job blocking up cover kick that [Applause] dri and he takes from inside the five he was hoping for something a little more Dynam they him on the ground at the 20 Utah has it back in the offense coming onto the field man how comforting is it to know that even yours out a little [Applause] Jessie he will out ofs but [Music] not I'm a defense I got way to get pressure on the quarter Orr their timing and their rym I can't give them these big Chun plays through the I got to aggressive or do something a little bit different he's down solid but a little of the first under minute to go here in the third quarter the give from the gun he's out ofou but not turning aing the SS for a first Bunch form trying to Spring a guy free to the air on first down now he's going to Glide away from pressure they'll wrap him up and he didn't find the same kind of Running Room this time as he did on the previous play and now on second down for this [Applause] offense he his they make the stop right there good pick up still of the first down and the have push it inside the [Applause] they'll try to run for it tackled after picking up the first down here's this offense with a fresh set of [Applause] down guys colado has the lead here and as we switch ends of the field let's take a quick look at the national rankings they'll break the seal on this here on first down Corners right up on that line of scrimmage they're going to ride this running back away from one not a lot oflight there let's give him one to the 14 going to work in the Red Zone they can pick up the first down without getting it into the end zone he's got it on the right and they pick up just a few on that completion I don't like the play call at this jum in the game you're down you got to take shots the defense is not going to be blitzing so these screens probably aren't going to work he wants it all he makes a catch in the end zown Utah it's so underrated the relationship between a QB and a wide receiver the timing the ability to know where he's going to be and be accurate the football that's what leads to nice touchdowns Jess the chemistry between these has to be right throw because coverage is going to be tight the throw might not be perfect but this is something these two guys have been repping and practice over and over and over and he paying dividends now on game and'll get as out to start the next and now the off will come onto the field again comes out throwing on first down looking to the big tight end got it in the middle it's Ryan they make the stop but not before they work up top and pick up a first down big CH play to start this drive now they'll really try to take it to this [Applause] defense he'll come out throwing on first down and it's incomplete if you're going to take a hit like that you might as well hang on to the ball quarterback knew he wanted to go to his tight end on that play he's a big physical Target but he was the hit on the play that forced the incompletion misfired on the last play they go back to the air catch in the middle it's Miller and they exploited that soft spot they get it down to the 35 and the buffal come to the line with a new set of downs was to throw on first down let it fly deep down field he snares it in the end zown they've extended this lead in aival game you get and you fight back that hard man you've seen crazy comebacks and crazy swings of momentum and rivalry games you just need that first thing to break your way I think it really comes down to their players they can come back these guys need to take ownership now is the time in this type of game they have got to step up and start making plays he'll bring it out it's Stanley he's brought down at the 16 would have been better take the touch back Utah offense returns ready to go back on the attack looking to move it through [Applause] the 4 and the expess the gets it to the 49 yd line and this offense has got to kick it in high gear making a big play that is great but we got to go up Tempo we got to go fast we're this B game we got to put a lot of drive together kick the Qui was a quter believe in your match my running if I can the in he's going to win a lot of times he that time is ready nice job in the open field making a nice tack y from the gun wants to pass quickly complete at the5 he's loose he's there to make the stop but the damage has as they pick up the first and the youth are on the Move he's going to pass grabbed in the middle it's Kane looking to push the pace with the no h it's amazing how fluid and potent an offense can seem when you get a great pick up on first down and the tight ends a terrific place to go tight ends now and he'll the end Z this game must be moving so slowly for this quarterback he sees everything two or three beats ahead way ahead I mean it's been been really really easy I better get some more hits on something to make him feel uncomfortable cuz right now it's just like oh run yeah that's easy I mean he's already read your mail you better change the address do something different they'd hope to get that thing bouncing around but the hands team is able to Coral it Colorado has the ball back and the buffal hoping to put their team in Prime position on offense [Applause] smart move to keep it on the ground they'll wrestle him down just short of the first down I don't even think they're going to bring out the change to measure this now second down as they try to run this clock looking for space it's well the buffal get the first down looks as if we have an injury on that last play and we'll take a break to check him out now on first down from the 28 [Applause] might as well give it to him again knock down after a yd gain to the 25 small gain I know but again the defense knows he's going to run the football he's willing to run the football not just drop back and pass make him on to the Run game you got to do a lot of this we reach the two-minute warning and this off is that much closer toting away a victory at this point the defense has little choice but to sell out to stop the run on second and [Applause] seven they'll test the right side they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one quick timeout called by the defense stopping the clock to save as much time as possible for their offense they're close enough for a makeable field goal from the 26 but they love to third and long throws to the wide out complete downi defense makes the stop but the Chang move in first and goal from the defense uses aout quickly trying to get that b back and preserve time for their off they'll run it on first and goal he pushes his way down to the four as they get closer and closer timeout called there by the defense desperate to get the ball back and save as much time as possible they pushed it ahead to the four they'll try to cash in on second and goal tries again to get it in he works the and with the there Jesse on second down this little third to midrange you got two downs what are you thinking here maybe getting your quarterback out on the and giving him a run pass option see if you can get the defense in a bow third and goal and he's got it there's no mercy rule in college football they lead in quarter they are still Chu they are still that lead and no problem on the extra point as they push the lead here in the four so they March the ball 41 y on that drive and they finish it up with a three yd scoring toss about to kick it off aftering it in for theou [Applause] and it'll be a touch back the ball will come out to the 25 yd line Utah has a back on the offense coming onto the field it has been a rather forgettable day that's finally coming to a close David yeah it's been an awful I mean just not not functioning well on offense defense giving up a lot of points this is a day Palmer they'll like to forget yeah you're going to find out a lot about their character right now obviously not what they hope this would be and that's demoralizing for a lot of these kids that have worked really hard and practice all week but at this point here you're just trying to prove your coaching staff that you're not going to going up top on First and the fresman will up a sa they'll hurry to the line with the clock still running and they'll get to the line and Spike it to stop the clock third down conversion a huge St they've got a third and long from the 27 he's looking down field to throw unloads to the out complete in the middle he was fighting and struggling his way try to get that first inad they'll be fac makes the grab well past the sticks crosses the 30 got away a huge shark play on that one as he gets the first down before he steps out of bounds the youth come to the line with a fresh set of downs they'll throw it on first down pocket starts to collapse Rush coming in hot and they got him at the 29 a big play for the defense with the first down sack now Advantage KN as the offense comes up on second down third and after this play the cake will be baked on Third and long doesn't need to take the check down and the pass is incomplete they were going for the fabulous paring gift but instead we'll just go home with the Los win win win win win win win it seems the only obstacle in their path could be getting bored or not paying close enough attention as they continue their run toward Perfection and everything's just lined up beautifully for this team this year we knew coming into the season they had guys that could go out and make plays and win games we knew all about the coaching staff but they've been able to avoid the injuries the schedule has been difficult at times but they've been able to overcome those challenges this team right now Unstoppable Force St but everything that gets put in their way they're just knocking just mowing them down shutting them down doing everything they need to and you know what's great about this time of year as a player award season the Banquets are around the corner the Heisman Trophy Awards all those the top defensive player Awards in the country those are all coming their way with what they're building right now so that's going to do it for us for Jesse
