College football 25 Road to Glory Oklahoma State National championship game

welcome everyone to the ultimate game in the college football season everything has built to this the battle for the national championship and college football immortality a moment that every young football player grows up dreaming about and these two teams have survived the expanded playoff grind they have battled regular season multiple playoff victories all sorts of challenges and adversity and they've arrived at this moment to battle for that precious trophy as we'll see the number 11 seed in this playoff the Cincinnati Bearcats taking on another team from the Big 12 the Oklahoma State Cowboys for EA Sports college football I'm Chris Fowler joined here as always by Kirk curb Street Kirk everything has been building to this it's time for the national championship let's Crown a champion [Applause] first down here for this offense and on the carry he's heading left breaks lose at the 40 breaks clear End Zone ahead and he runs it into the end zone touchdown Cowboys and the Oklahoma State offense is back out on the field it didn't take long to reach the end zone last time a perfectly blocked running play and they keep it going here Chris it's pretty surreal to get to the National Championship in this day and age of college football when everybody wants to spread out and throw the football this offense has been pounding the rock all year long and here how about the first half this back is having a big day offense needing to keep this drive alive it's a third down play quarterback drops back cling the secondary he's going to pull it down and run tiny space at the 20 and they finally make the stop but that's a huge gain in the scramble he found some space and just went for it and the Cowboys will line up here on first down and goal keep it on the ground on first and goal voler brought down at the four offense in great scoring position here a pretty good push up front here by this offensive line to get some positive yards here you wonder if they're going to be able to run it in or they going to have to spread this defense out and try to find a one-on-one match up to put the ball through the air for the touchdown coming up second down and [Applause] goal keep it on the ground there's the handoff fights his way into the endend Zone touchdown Oklahoma State I think we're starting to kind of see a theme here Chris today that's his second touchdown the offensive line doing their job and he's doing an outstanding job of just reading the def finding the hole and being able to pick up big yards and [Music] touchdowns time for one more play here in the quarter they're going to run it defense makes the tackle as the final seconds of this first quarter went out well Oklahoma state has the lead here so both teams settling in this battle for the national championship through one quarter let's check out the game summary we'll see if this game gets out of hand before halftime The crucial second quarter beginning right now here's the second down play off play action he's looking to throw it's incomplete he took a hit as he threw the football and it brings up a third down see if the offense can move the chains off that [Applause] incompletion shotgun formation here on third down he's hit right as he throws it incomplete well the defense picks the right time to get after this quarter first down play call coming up how aggressive will it be look him out throwing here to start the drive looking for a deep completion the catch is made for a huge pickup Chris it's so easy to get excited about the receivers on the outside and their ability to make big plays but the slot receivers are just as exciting especially with their finesse quickness and ability to make guys miss in the middle of that field [Applause] big guys up front lined up it's first down it's a shotgun run call they get him down but the game moves the ball to the 37 all right let face most of the offensive linan today they're big they over 300 lb but that doesn't mean they don't have to have agility and the way they can get out there in front of the runner create space sometimes it looks like they're going in One Direction and a runner uses his eyes to take him in another Direction because he's been blocked so well love those misdirection or counter plays and this one worked out really well for a nice piece of yards and a first down the offense will take their first time out of the half the talk strategy [Applause] here that's solid run good for first down yardage and the ball is handed off out of the shotgun great cut there heads out of bounds as a short gain on play when you can get good chunks of yardage like this on early Downs it just keeps you on schedule leading to more manageable third down situations never underestimate the value of consistently getting four more yards of pop like that important second down play coming up and from the shotgun an inside handoff he'll get the first time yards before they finally bring him down look I realize on any play call it's properly executed it can go to the house for a touchdown but the runs that really make a game plan work are the ones where you get just what you need and he barely got the first down but he got it the Cowboys begin a new series here first and 10 there's the snap he's looking to throw makes a spectacular diving catch it's a big play by this offense they go on the post route it's a perfectly Run route it looks like the ball is going to be overthrown but how about the receiver laying out to bring that one in for the big game and the Cowboys hoping to punch it in here they have first and goal there's the snap they'll set up to throw quack looks to his right and finds his man he'll take it into the end zone touchdown Cowboys still early but this [Applause] off and the okoma State offense takes the field the last possession was a passing game Clinic they moved it right down for a touchdown can they keep it going off the play fake looking to throw on first down fires it to the wide out oh and he can't make the Cs across the middle it'll bring up second down we know it's not an easy job to go out and catch passes when people try to tackle you and knock the ball away but the bottom line is that's a pass you got to have to come up with and make a catch quarterback looking to pass here on second down he's escaping the pocket now great move there another beautiful move big play in enemy territory all the way to the 41 yd line Cowboys come to the line in a three up the offense will Now quickly spend a [Applause] timeout how aggressive do you get on First and 10 ver back drops back from the shotgun looking to make a big Play Down field the passes Dro incomplete would have had a huge gain took his eye off the ball Chris I thought he had his hands on that football I thought he was going to come down with it but give the defense all the credit with a big hit to knock that ball loose so second down after the incompletion he snap it quarterback looking to throw the ball and the junior able to get home with the side and a quick timeout call by by the offense after the play Chris that is textbook by this defense in manto man coverage nowhere to go for this quarterback he's looking around everywhere to find an open Man by the time he figures it out it's a sack for the defense quick throw to his receiver he's got an open man downfield and it's C they make the tackle but it sets the offense up for a first and goal from the 10 so the offense takes the field in the final seconds of the half chance for just a couple more plays on First and 10 looking to throw and it's caught touchdown Oklahoma State well that's a thing of beauty right there good job all around offensive line gave the quarterback enough time quarterback puts it right on the money and with this receiver running a route like this makes it pretty simple all he had to do is get his head turned around catch that football he's already in the end zone for the touchdown [Music] and the Cowboys offense is back out on the field they take the field with serious momentum they have been tough to stop so far can they keep it going pressure is coming and the sack is made that's a nice play there by the the offensive line will have to regroup after the sack it's second and 13 quarterback drops back the pocket breaking down the pass rush has got him again back to back sacks so a tricky situation here third and very long inside your own 20 how much of risk do you take you know this defense could be very aggressive at this moment the defense swarms to make a tackle for loss on that third down catch man this line getting set up it's a first down play they'll run it out of the shotgun Breaking Free at the 35 tackle is made but that's good for a first down of the 47 big runs like this are just demoralizing for a defense it's one thing to give up big plays over your head against the pass game but when teams can run the ball and pick up yards like this really affects the team's mental psyche and their confidence and you'll start to see some M tackles following a play like this game makes it second and medium offense moving receivers around now before the snap now the play fake he'll look to throw it bringing pressure he'll avoid the sack but it's brought down after a short gain offense looking to keep the drive alive it's third down they'll try to move the chains here on the ground Breaking Free at the 35 oh and he breaks free it's a foot race makes it across the goal line touchdown [Applause] Cal and the Oklahoma offense is back out on the field on First and 10 here looking to throw the ball finds an open Target on the left side Play Moves the ball to about the 45 that's good for a first down how about this aggressive approach by this offense they've got the lead in the fourth quarter and these guys are continuing to throw the football I think the offense coordinator understands he can't allow his team to get too comfortable or complacent even with having a lead here in the fourth offense getting set second down play here out of the shotgun he'll hand it off this one up the backers and make the play can he get there on the ground breaking free at the 35 oh and nothing but green grass ahead touchdown Oklahoma State no chance to catch him Chris all week I wondered if this back might get loose and come up with a big [Applause] and the Oklahoma State offense is back out on the field he'll use that running game trying to bleed the clock here Chris good job here on that stop but remember the ball is inbounds and the clock keeps moving here late in the game and you're trailing as a defense got to start thinking about utilizing those timeouts you got all three to use what point you going to start putting those into play that's a nice wrap up there by the junior see that's how you limit what an offense wants to do this time the defense just won the battle up front of the line of scrimmage not giving up any big plays everybody and now the ball comes out a disastrous play from the start defense grabs the football it's a turnover oh what a play by this defense trailing in the second half really the only way you can get back into this game is create turnovers balls on the ground they bounce on it and the ball back to their own offense and the Oklahoma State offense takes the field can they play keep away here just protect this lead in the final two minutes that's a solid game moves the ball to the 29 and now it's the defense that calls timeout here trying to get organized and preserve as much clock as possible the game makes it second and Med from the shotgun now here's a hand off inside Nowhere to Run they'll caral him for no game now a timeout taken by the defense trying to preserve as much clock as possible for their offense offense facing a third and long from the 28 got to have your pass protection in order on this play that's caught it's Andrews oh and he's in the clear now it's a foot race and he takes it all the way to the end zone touchdown Cowboys another touchdown strike you win national championships with Elite quarterback play and this guy's putting on a show so the job is simple here just take a knee run out the clock and begin the celebration that's it it's official out our national champions with the last team standing at the top of the mountain C national champions well it's been so much fun to watch this team play all year long they've had some challenging moments they've been able to overcome them and how fitting a close game in a national championship they come through one more time and as you say they hold the trophy they are the national champions of the Year well that's going to do it for us and wrap up another
