but the players that they got guys like Austin Eckler has been in the league a long time he's going to be a sounding board for Jayden Daniels he is incredibly readymade five years of college experience I think is extremely important as part of the jayen Daniels uh narrative and how he Tak shape as a rookie Hanah I personally I'm going to Echo what a lot of people here have said I would not be surprised if we get to the end of the year and we say oh Jaden Daniels had a better year than Caleb Williams and I think for Cliff Kingsbury is the new offensive coordinator tapping into that dual threat ability but finding the right balance is going to be Paramount for his success early on you know you guys I'm just going to go ahead and jump straight into the Washington commanders at this point because this team man so far this off season has built out a team that I think is going to be a lot better and as we get closer and closer to the NFL season we're about to see them on the field in action we saw them add multiple pieces to an offense that desperately needed them and we also saw them do the exact same thing to a defense that is now ran by Dan Quinn and that's why I think this team is going to be better they had some weaknesses but they were able to feel the majority of them and because of that I actually think this team has a chance to be a sleeper Contender if don't miss any commanders videos as we get closer and closer to the season okay so to get right back on topic with the Washington commanders this team of course had a horrendous 2023 season where they went 4 and 13 and honestly just weren't able to do anything the offense couldn't score points and the defense couldn't stop the opposing team from scoring points and when those two things are happening at the same time you're probably not going to win very many football games but this off season the commanders as an organization had a goal to make this team better and they started off doing that by going out and getting themselves a new head coach in Dan Quinn that I actually like a lot Dan Quinn's a guy that's been in the NFL for a long time and he's had a lot of success for a very long time and I don't think he's just going to bring in a great scheme I also think he's going to bring in a culture that's something the commanders have been missing for a very long time he's going to get these players to buy into what's going on and make them want to play for this organization and that's a lot bigger of a deal than most people realize but obviously even if you do that you still got to have the players to make it work and I think the commanders really do somewhat have that to start let's look at this offense because this is obviously where they made the biggest move of the off season by going out in the first round with the number two overall pick and taking that guy Jaden Daniels out of LSU this pick wasn't obvious but it was kind of expected due to a lot of the rumors that went around the number two overall pick because they said the commanders like Jane Daniels all off season but people still had question marks about whether they would take Drake May or not but as we know now they didn't do that they stuck with Jaden Daniels and I think that was the right decision jayen Daniels as we all know is an absolute freak of an athlete at the quarterback position and because of that he was the best quarterback in college football last year and he honestly had one of the best college football seasons of all time which is why he ended up winning the Heisman this is extremely promising to see for a guy coming into the NFL and I really do think with what he showed us in college it's going to transfer over to the NFL pretty well and if that happens this offense is going to be really really good almost immediately Jaden Daniels obviously can run the ball at a really high level kind of similar to a guy like Lamar Jackson and then at the same time he also throws the ball very well especially deep down the field and I think that's something we're going to see Cliff kingsberry use a lot to put Jayden Daniels in the best position to succeed there's not much you can do to stop a quarterback when they can run the ball like a running back and they can throw the ball at a really high level I really do think Jaden Daniels has a chance to win rookie of the year but it's not just because of him it's also because this weapon group that the commanders have really isn't that bad starting off with that guy Scary Terry Terry mcen in my opinion is one of the most underrated receivers in the entire league simply due to the fact that he's never had a good quarterback to throw in the ball but even though he hasn't had a good quarterback he still put up great numbers after great numbers year in and year out and I expect expect him to put up even better numbers now that he has jadden Daniels throwing in the ball he's one of those receivers that can pretty much do it all and he's exactly what you want in a receiver number one so for Jayden Daniels to come into the league and already have that it's a really promising sign now behind Terry mclen you have that guy Jan Dawson who also like a ton especially since he's only going to be going into his third season Johan Dawson is a quick speed guy that finds ways to get open at a pretty high level and he really isn't a bad receiver too at all and I expect him to also go up in production this year with Jed and Daniels playing quarterback and if that happens I really do like the duo that the commanders currently have now Behind these two guys you have a few guys that could play but the guy I'm most excited about is the guy you took in the third round and Luke mcaffrey who I think actually has some potential to be really good he's not the craziest athlete ever but he is a really good route Runner and he has really good hands and I think he's going to be a pretty good safety blanket for Jayden Daniels whenever he needs it he might not be able to take the top off but he will be able to get some chunk plays and that's all you can really ask for from a rookie receiver so when I look at this receiver room as a whole I'm actually pretty high on what they can potentially be and then when you pair with that that you also have Zack s in the tight end room and you have the guy you drafted in the fourth round out of Kansas State and you see that all over his college tape so I think this guy actually does have a chance to come in and make a huge impact to make this weapon group as a whole even better so overall I think jayen Daniels is going to have plenty to throw to and I think Cliff kingsberry is going to put him in a great position to succeed and then when you pair with that that I also think the rushing attack is going to be pretty good as well that's when this offense really starts to come together when you look at the running back room you of course signed that guy Austin Eckler who is known as one of the better running backs in the league especially as a receiving threat and then behind him you have another guy that I like a lot and Brian Robinson who is only going to be going into his third year and he still has a ton of potential I think those two guys are a perfect Duo to mismatch with each other and if you use them in the right way I think this run game can be pretty good which will allow you to open up play action and get guys even more open down the field which is exactly what you want for a rookie quarterback so with that being said I really do think this offense has a chance to be a top half offense in the league if not a top 10 offense in the league and if that happened in Jayden Daniels first year that' obviously be a success but as we all know if you want this team to actually be good you got to have a good defense as well and I think Dan Quinn has done a pretty good job of going out and getting guys that he knew worked well in his system to make this defense better than it was last year the first thing you notice on this defense of course is the defensive line mainly the interior of it because you have Jon Allen and donon Payne on the inside that are both absolute studs these guys play great football year in and year out and they're going to be able to clog up the middle so that's of course always good to have but what's crazy is the interior doesn't just stop there you also were able to go out and draft a guy in the second round and Johnny Newton who's also an absolute freak and I think he's going to come in and have a huge impact as well I know he has some injury concerns but I would definitely take the risk on the injury concerns in the second round because of how good of a player he is and that's going to make this defensive line even scarier to play against so the interior is obviously really good but to make the defensive line good as a whole Dan Quinn added a few different guys like dorren Armstrong and Dante Fowler to add a little bit more juice to this pass rush room so they can actually get after the quarterback and we all know Dan Quinn is one of the best in the game at building out great pass rushes so I'm excited to see how well the commanders are able to get after the quarterback now when we move back to the linebacker room you're also stacked here because you have Bobby Wagner who played really good last year even though he's a little bit old and you also signed another really good linebacker and Frankie louu to pair with him which makes up a Duo that's going to be really really good this gives you a great front seven that should be able to stop the run and be pretty good against the pass and when you pair with that that you have a secondary that's really not that bad either I really just don't see a world where this defense is absolutely terrible I mean they might not be the best defense ever but they're not going to be a terrible defense and when you pair that with an offense that I'm extremely extremely high on this team like I said earlier on in the video really does have a chance to be a super sneaky contender
