today I just want to give y'all my thoughts because when I first heard them I was like I would love to hear y'all thoughts Chad Dak Prescott is an MVP candidate you feel finished second should have been first but he finished second is what is so the idea that we need a new quarterback has always been a little strange to me cuz he finished second in the MVP shouts out to Jeff kavar right I've been a fan of his for a long time but me and him are like you know we're I don't we're like friends now something whatever um shouts out to him but he used to always had this quote when when he was talking about cowboy team building it was so pointy he was like hey man why why we get worse on purpose why would we get worse on purpose sometimes your worse on purpose makes a little sense you know like if you move on from a 90 year old like bodywise like Tyron is really like 32 but bodywise he's like 90 if you move on from a 90 year old Tyron Smith and and and end up with like um Tyler giden I mean that that makes sense right you get a little worse on on purpose there but you project that Tyler giden can be better than an older always hurt Tyron Smith that makees sense but besides those particular type situations you know what I'm saying like getting worse on purpose don't really make a whole bunch of sense to me right here's me wrapping that up in the boat if you move on from the dude that's that was runner up in the MVP voting and just me speaking frankly he's had years better than the MVP year if your next quarterback ain't close to that you're kind of hustling backwards that's like you saying hey man even if you even if you said this though right so I listen to a lot of cowboy fans right even if you listen to this even if you go I would get rid of Dak Prescott take those pcks then use those pcks and trade them to the Jaguars and get Trevor Lawrence you not getting no better than that boy you not getting you're not getting better than that you you got worse on purpose cuz everything that you sick and tired of you know dealing with Dak for that's what the Jags are dealing with with traing them they good enough to be good enough or Justin Herber them keeping it in the buck with you it's only a handful of quarterbacks in which their fan bases look at them and go hey when you get to the playoffs at least you win games there's only like three or four quarterbacks that that that do that no matter how Elite you are they're only three or four that actually do that now we here with Trey Lance boy Tre Lance is a projection if I've ever seen one but damn Dakin is second an MVP what you gonna do if our quarterback was Drew blo if Drew blesso was 30 years old in 2024 V would actually get on this camera and go hey man we need to see what's going on with Trey Lance we need to see what's going on with Tre Lance now you're only you only want to see what's going on with Trey Lance because some of y'all sick of D but if Trey don't finish sing an MVP you got wor on purpose if Trey doesn't win you 12 games three years in a row you getting worse on purpose for what to save $60 million to save a organization $60 million and they going to spend it in the first place they ain't going to spend that money Cowboys going to get that money and resign somebody I just want to encourage Cowboy fans to not even worry about the $6 million sometime don't a worry about that man [ __ ] that $6 million ain't your money nowhere don't worry about that $60 million the Cowboys have to worry about it but we shouldn't worry about that $6 million cuz they not going they not going to pay for nobody they're not going to give Michael Parsons a running mate they're not going to pay for this Elite running back to go help Trey Lance They're Not Gon to add another All Pro to the offensive line know they ain't doing that so just roll with four but there have been conversations about Trey Lance right there have been conversations by Tre Lance the only way that this TR l Lance conversation makes sense to me if like maybe Trey Lance is not an MVP candidate right let's just be clear here because Jordan loves not an MVP candidate but he could beat your ass in a in a in a playoff game right what if there's an idea that Trey Lance is not an MVP candidate but his clutch genan isn't I don't even know how to make this [ __ ] make sense you know what I'm saying yes not this time yes we created a similar event this time no you're right time it's totally right P our research I don't even know what to say about it is it true or I don't know what to say about it it sounds crazy hey man he not the MVP but he better than Dak for four games out the year so that's all that matters I [Music] mean would Trey Lance have won you the Green Bay game would Trey topic here right I think this only makes sense or this is only an argument because Tre Lance was once the first overall pick you know pardon me he was a top three top second third overall pick third yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah Zack Wilson was second Trey was third I think this is only a conversation because Tre Lance was the third overall pick and maybe with a change of scenery your third overall pick can act like a third overall pick did you hear what I said maybe cuz as as because up to this point he a been acting like a third he he like third overall pick he even acting like it he's been acting like Cooper rush but he ain't been acting like a third overall pick but he hasn't got a lot of reps neither so maybe there's this idea that if you put trade in a friendly system and you give them some reps and you let them learn under a a stud quarterback for a couple of years like they've done with Jordan love maybe the idea is when you're finally done with Dak or when you see Dak decline in two or three years or four years I don't know then maybe that's when it's time for Tre Lance to come about Tre Lance said this they was asking about this Cowboy offense and [ __ ] and Tre Lance was like man it's a little different this is what he said different yeah just just a different offense um you know we didn't San Francisco we weren't really dropping back in pass boy Tre Lance wore number 15 for two weeks didn't he Tre boy look look Tre Lance had that Jersey for 30 for what 24 hours did not he wearing not he wearing a receiver number that's crazy just just a different offense um you know we didn't San Francisco we weren't really dropping back and passing out of the gun on First and 10 too many times um it's just totally different here where we can do that we have the guys to do it let me go back and see what he said yeah just just a different cuz the nerve with Trey Lance to try to make look like San Francisco offense ain't [ __ ] ours just so much better like that's good for the change of scenery M McCarthy had a comment about Tre Lance your head coach said this about your backup quarterback I hate when the cowboy when Cowboy fans love they backups more than they like MVP proo All Pro level starters that sh made me S but here's what Mike had to say about Tre L and his new start in his offense I mean there's thresholds in development for every position I mean quarterbacks there's thresholds in development for every position that's really bars from from from from Mike though there's threshold there's thresholds for development there's a threshold for development chat write that down that will be on the test put that in the chat for me there there's there's there's thresholds in development for every POS I ain't got five years to wait media person it'll be great to get into the psyche of Mike McCarthy right here right and it'll probably give us some insight on how long you plan on having Trey around it'll probably give us some insight on what you think about like rookie quarterbacks that start off quickly what you think about Jordan love here and his threshold of development because it took Jordan love a long time what do what do you think about Brock P's threat Brock P's threshold for his development the followup question should have been iMed OT I mean there's thresholds and development for every position I mean quarterback's no different and Tra how long you take coach how long it take a quarterback to get on track coach because if you ask mik McCarthy directly hey how long does Trey L have before he gets pushed off a bridge hold I'm not going to tell you that I'm not gonna speak on a a player anything but if you simply use what he just told you as a followup and this ain't me telling y'all how to be threshold for different positions is is is it's different time period i hey man how long it take for quarterbacks to get ready and acclimated in your personal opinion in your personal opinion and you and and look you Green Bay guy Aaron Rogers development guy Aaron Rogers wasn't a year one guy what's the threshold what's the time period what's the development what's the duration here because if Mike McCarthy says five years we go all right cool Trey Lance on year two so we kind of got a feel for how long it'll take for try to you know what I'm saying to finish mik McCarthy's quarterback program what if mik McCarthy says oh well quarterback should be developed by a year or two now we looking at Tre Lance like [ __ ] your time going to run out of at the same time Dex Dex time's goingon to run out I don't work for the media but I would have asked but here what M mcard had to say's no different I mean obviously he had a prior experience in in San Francisco so I mean that that's obviously an experience that always the nerve of y'all sit up here and act like San Francisco don't know [ __ ] about offense boy the nerve of both of y'all y'all the nerve of y'all draw from and then you know we're involved in a different offense um in just the way the positions played which is you know it's played differently for every quarterback in every in in every organization so um so my point is he's crossing the threshold to training I've been very very pleased um you know the athletic ability is topnotch uh you know we we've adjusted some things you know in his um you know not only his motion get I get into specifics of that but um you can see the Improvement the timing and in in young quarterbacks and he's no different he KN reps you know and we're trying to get him as many reps as we can uh throughout this offseason program and and he will take a large part of the the preseason that's the design so um him and I talk about preseason quite often because I mean that's that's where we're building towards so here's what I would have asked next here's just what I would have said what what what did your quarterback do different in the Dallas offense than the San Francisco offense he may out answer but he might have when you see what San Francisco's done with Brock py why do you think they couldn't they couldn't get it done with Trin let just ask question like is the West Coast more quarterback friendly than like a Shanahan West Coast oh both y'all Run West Coast oh my fault oh Trey need reps so to go back to your previous threshold question it's going to take some years for Trey to get these reps huh athletic ability so does that mean that Tre Lance is g to have a part of the part of the Playbook that Dak doesn't have like if Dak was to get hurt does tre Lance run the same play as Dak run or does tre Lance gonna have more running opportunities because he's young and not worth $60 million allegedly I asked all them goddamn question oh Trey needs reps Okay so preseason where you going to get him where you going to get him besid preseason in practice does this mean Trey GNA get way more like much more preseason than Cooper Rush that's what I would ask but I'm curious as to see what the next question was I'm just curious you're number three receiving option we talk about boy this [ __ ] talking about Jaya TOA godamn boy brought up J toer boy he said man your number three receiving option look let me tell you something I don't look I could if I'm media guy I can walk in with a notepad with questions that I want to ask Mike McArthur but if Mike own to something like if will still asked the question that Mike started saying some [ __ ] and it was interesting I'm putting down my jayen tobert question because I think that this Trey Lance question probably means a little more in this time then I believe he asked the I hate when the media ask questions to to [ __ ] that we know already right we don't know how long it's going to take for Tre Lance to develop only mik McCarthy knows that so yeah we can answer that question I think Buddy ass hey man look so jayen told your wide receiver three how do you how do you account for the wide receiver three [ __ ] right like how do you account for helping at wide receiver 3 oh V to tell you man [ __ ] thr your tight ends I said last week Jake fer is probably be tight end three you know put your running backs if run the football different Personnel I know the answer to that I don't want to ask M Mard the question that I have the answer to already and and I'm not just here to critique the media members this is just questions that I'm posing to my audience we just talking let's hear what Mike got to say though we just listen often because I mean that's that's what we're building towards and you're number three receiving option we talked about Jaylen tolber y um but what the tight end depth that you guys have does is that kind of factor in as well where your number three receiver might come out of a different position given the depth that you guys have also I hate when they answer their own question you just answered your own question yeah your your tight end room will help you at wide receiver 3 I think sometimes they ask questions just to make themselves look smarter I don't hold hands in football I just assume that you smart enough to make that assessment already I I have an incredible audience in my chat right now everybody watching live right now none of y'all ass is NFL coaches none of Y me neither but none of y'all as NFL coaches but y'all could hey Chad so listen uh uh so Tober is your wide receiver three but I don't feel great about it what else we going to do to help him out in that third receiver stand we going to use tight ends y'all say yeah man Ferguson's probably G schon's going to make some catches BR may make some catches your running backs might make some catches but here's my MC talking about Jaylen tobert and supplanting some of his attention some of that Michael Gall work with tight ends definely I mean really when you know we're going through right now you know offense is really put in in in three three categories you know you have one back offense two back offense and and no back offense So based off of who the number you know two three four tight end is no difference in receivers they all need to you know learn to play both inside and out that's it's a very important component of how we look at player acquisition as far as the players we select and how we want to play here uh we don't we don't want guys that just can only play one position uh there are exceptions I'm not ignorant to that but you know the one thing we talk a lot about um you know when we talk about the roster is is players you know what are the two things he can do and uh because when you get into the 53 and then you get down into the 48 for the you know for the we Weekly game you know special teams usually factors in that so yeah so I'm these we're in a great spot because we got we got numbers and in depth we got a lot of guys will be fighting for those spots the answer is yes tight ends will help you sir what's
