Eagles CHANGING UP plans for Cooper DeJean! Quinyon Mitchell STARTING + Howie RELEASES Caden Sterns!

Intro all right so the Eagles got in their final practice before flying out to Brazil and we've got a promising injury report plus Jaylen Herz is leading by example and prepared for the blitz against Green Bay but while there's optimism there slay isn't as keen on traveling to Brazil however where's the real concern on the defense and who's got the most pressure to perform also Vic fangio's plans for Cooper de jeene and quinon Mitchell might be changing but it could be a good thing so let's talk about all the latest storylines and why Hoy Roseman decided to get rid of another safety but first that hopefully it's similar to what they did last time they played Green Bay because Jaylen put on a master class with qb1 accounting for 153 passing yards and two touchdowns while also racking up 157 yards of the ground and being virtually Unstoppable where as we all remember the birds won a shootout 40 to 33 okay yeah I highly doubt it's going to be that high scoring and I hear you we probably don't want Jaylen running the football 17 times However the fact that he's shown that he's full fully healthy and can be a threat in the running game just makes this offense that much more Dynamic but let's be honest while he'll likely run the ball less Herz is improving as Kell Moore admitted once again that qb1 has really grasped the offense and taking control of the added responsibilities for Jalen Hurts getting more responsibility example like calling the protection and growing in that area of his game but I think there's a different approach in some areas and some facets I think cam has really done a really good job um just taking taking taking that role on and really um taking on the responsibilities of what comes with u leading that group you know I think in the end I think when you look at um this upcoming season and and what you may have seen from years past is just different autonomy in different places you know we had a great player here just KC who who took on a lot of responsibility and and in result of that I was told not to worry about a lot of things um and so um my eagerness to learn and all of that over the years you know kind of was Haled because of who we had but but now times are different and I'm excited for that Journey for this foot team there's things that happen at the line of scrimmage um there's some teams that it's all you know all the quarterback there's some teams that it's all the center there's some teams that's a mix and you know um and so again it was it was you know Jaylen being able to do some other things uh at the line of scrimmage and and Kelsey handling a big portion of it there's yeah that's that's yeah what he said is yeah what what he said is 100% true this is going to be one of those areas to really keep an eye on for Friday night because new Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Halley isn't hiding the fact that the cheesee heads will be going after herdz citing goals Packers challenging QB1 to confuse and create turnovers while believing they can ultimately lead the league in turnovers forced well sometimes dreams can turn into nightmares L I can appreciate the fact that he has optimism but really I mean who knows at this point because it's the first week of the season and obviously that's one of the Beauties about the first week is we'd have no clue about how the teams are going to perform but yes we've got to see the offense handling the pressure but remember k Morris had a good track record against the blitz improving both Dak Prescott's numbers and Justin Herbert's numbers when facing that pressure plus kellen's given jayen the autonomy to change things at the line of scrimmage based on what he's seeing which obviously for those in the know we've seen glimpses of that throughout training camp and various practices so I mean it's not a surprise even though we don't necessarily know what to expect Lane Johnson and the offense are definitely believing with P the lane saying Jaylen has become more vocal and BEC a much bigger part of that since Kelsey's gone while also admitting it's a good thing that the Eagles have been trying to throw a lot of different Blitz packages during practice having hot checks and making sure they're ready for it because teams are no doubt going to look at last year's film and keep coming with the blitz until the offense stops it exactly combine the growth with the new scheme and obviously one of the most dominant running backs in the NFL and the Outlook is promising oh yeah not to mention our new wide receiver three who I've mentioned previously about the fit in the offense and one of his biggest areas for impact as did AJ Brown who pointed out why Jan doson will prove crucial to the success of this season he has a big Jahan Dotson’s big opportunity uh big opportunity in front of him I'm not going to put too much on his plate but he he does and and and I can tell you guys uh when I line up I know they're yelling out 11 in the slot 11 outside you know and most of the time I'm getting coverage rotated to me you know most most most importantly and you know Smitty has his one-on-one matchups you know and and I don't know how they do with Smitty um so I don't speak for myself but but I know they account for SMY as well so when you look up you're not I going to say you're not really worried about them but they they're probably not gonna put their best guy over there they can only do so much they only can do so much you know and you know it's very rare that certain teams probably have three all like three really really good DBS and so he has a big opportunity in front of him to to he has MIT matches all day and uh you know and I I hope he he maximize those MIT match obviously we're not asking datson for five catches a game but the fact that Elam zakus only had 10 catches last year albe at a couple really big ones means there's definitely room for exploitation there after all like I've shared in previous videos and I'm sure everyone's aware by now but Kell Moore is going to get his wide receiver three involved a lot more within his offense hear me out I'm not saying something crazy like Johan Dawson is going to be a pro bowler this year or anything like that but 30 to 40 catches something like that it feels like that's possible but what do you guys think if you had to pick numbers-wise predictions for Johan Dawson in this offense what are you going with also just real quick because I had this topic brought up to me the Eagles offense is definitely different and we all get that but this whole narrative being pushed that Jaylen was at odds or even thre shade at Kelce because he was calling protection and limiting Jaylen is ridiculous sure I'm Eagles comfortable? not saying it didn't stunt hurt's growth at all but the two are professionals and Kelsey's a Hall of Famer granted most all quarterbacks do that job anyway so at least they're finally having hers take the Reigns so no nothing odds or relationship wise with Kelsey heck he's going to be in the building he said that many times before ultimately this comes down to Jaylen Herz taking that next step in his career which is a promising sign so while that's a non-issue one thing that is an actual at odd storyline is the deal with the Jets and Hassan reic as neither side has made any progress while ha still is not attending anything with the team meaning his fines are somewhere around the $4 million number like not great for him obviously but also here you have the Jets and GM Joe Douglas being down a pass rusher and third round pick in 2026 with nothing to show for it leaving them in an understandably uncomfortable position one that Adam Sher gets the sense is only continuing to sour and not headed in the right direction meanwhile the Eagles are in a comfortable position or at least more comfortable with the birds flying in style to Brazil thanks to American Airlines offering the biggest plane in their Fleet in order to help the squad remain as comfortable as possible my dogs are barking today oh that feels better I get that some things are really irritating especially with the recent reports of Brazil and the concerns and questions there like the wildfires around the city Brazil Banning usage of X and just general concerns for Public Safety plus to have a home game in Philly taken away has caused more than a little frustration from fans add on top of that takes like this from the players and it only adds fuel to the fire man I do not want to go Slay doesn’t want to go to Brazil to Brazil you want to know why I'm here to tell you why they already told us not to leave the hotel they told us we can't do too much going on because the crime rate is crazy you know what I'm saying I'm like NFL why y'all want to send us somewhere with the crime weight this high and and like we out the country so you know the first thing people think is like something teror can possibly happen I told my family do not come down there because like I'm not gonna be nowhere to be found really I'm be in a hotel chilling mind of my business playing my game after a long n and a half hour flight so I don't have no intentions on doing nothing I'm going to eat Hotel food I'm doing everything but they said yeah man it going to be pretty crazy down there you know uh the police said they going to be you know try to be the best they could possibly be the Top Flight security of the world Craig you know what I'm saying so we hope for that that might not be the most endearing to locals in the area even with the Eagles attempting to Pander to The Crowd by matching the Corinthians home kits Other concerns for travel reminder they'll be rocking the black helmets with white jerseys and black pants yet as we know it's not just slay there CJ Garner Johnson asked if it was safe to play there and we also got not biggest endorsements from guys like Devonte Smith and AJ Brown for the records slay did come back and say that he apologized to anyone he offended that it wasn't his attention as well as looking forward to playing in a beautiful country with all the passionate fans however on the flip side Mr breed of one is attempting to take a different approach I think it's a it's a Hurts: “Once in a lifetime opportunity” Once on a lifetime opportunity something to be very excited about you know the international stage Brazil from what I've heard this is a very amazing Place beautiful place um and a very very passionate passionate place as well when it comes to sports and and their fans and so I'm excited to get a taste of that look I can at least appreciate him trying to calm everyone down and take the positive stance which is what serani also attempted to do as several media members noted the head coach seems the lightest he's been in quite some time and who Nick Sirianni more relaxed than typical knows perhaps that's due to the fact that serani said he's letting Kell Mo handle the offensive meetings allowing him to step out whenever he needs to meet more often with hoe or just take time to himself I just stare at my desk but it looks like I'm working I do that for uh probably another hour after lunch too I'd say in a given week I probably only do about 15 minutes of real actual work and I will say I appreciate the fact that serani changed even if it was more of a volun told situation because at least the Vibes seem much better now with a newfound belief around the building and speaking of that new found belief Vic fangio doubled down on his thoughts of quinon Mitchell's ability he's just played good you know he's done Vic Fangio starting Quinyon Mitchell a good job picking up his responsibilities um done a good job playing and uh he will be out there we did play him at nickel early on and he did fine in there um I do think for him personally it would be good to lock in at one spot because even though we've been very happy with his development and his learning abilities I you know he still is a rookie and I do think if he can get comfortable at one spot it would be to his benefit but we may not be able to do that it probably wouldn't surprise most people to see Q playing the outside by the middle of the season however it does seem like he's destined to start on the nickel and then figure things out as the season goes along by the way the hint of not being able to do that for Q playing one position is most likely due to the fact of Cooper de Gene not being ready I Cooper DeJean not ready yet think he's as prepared as he can be but having said that no you know not where he needs to be who doesn't appreciate brutal honesty for real I mean sure you'd like to hear Coupe as good to go yet fangio calls it like he sees it as Dee had a couple good moments in his only preseason game but also had a couple miscues so combine that with the fact that he just hasn't been able to get in as many reps due to the hamstring injury to start camp and that's not really a surprise although again once he's fully ramped up that's where I'd imagine Coupe ends up being the guy at the nickel also I know this has been an ongoing topic but fangio's comments change your thoughts about Coupe or Q or anything there with the nickel or how about Bryce Huff who the DC said is improving but still needs to continue improving especially when it comes to seeing new offensive looks and getting the Reps in and then there's also the Jalen Carter ready to handle the workload take about Jaylen Carter and Jordan Davis's conditioning as vanio believes in both players yet admitted he's not sure because they haven't been pushed to play the number of intense snaps like practice that they would in a game just I got a lot on the shoulder and I'm ready for uh ready to step up to the plate and show what I can do do you like that like the that there might be some pressure on you oh yeah I like that I ain't got no problem with it it's football is my job it's going to be pressure some weeks and then some weeks is not you know it's on and off and stuff like that how do you deal with that stuff I just be myself how much do you lean on Jordan how much do you lean on Jordan Davis too how much do you lean on him and regard to that on him rock you know he big we him first second down he he does a third down so we get a three and out you know I talk to him every day every down when we in the game practice and all that we learn off each other by the way as if that wasn't enough the linebacker topic was also brought up with no guarantees on solidified starters since the positional battles will apparently continue on into the season which personally yes I don't love to hear again I love the brutal honesty and I want to know what's going on with the squad but at the same time there's some concerns there especially with the dline the linebacker area safety depth all the side on the defense I think there's a lot of question marks coming into this game still I mean let me just say I'm trusting fangio but it's just one of those that you're like okay it could be better hopefully it starts to transpire that way as we get going of course yes no player Mis practice completely due to injury but Devon white was listed as a limited participant due to an ankle injury while also Isaiah Eagles injury updates Rogers was limited with a hand injury but apparently I think all things should be fine anyway lots of questions on the defense especially the ones that fio mentioned what's the biggest question mark for you out of the ones that I mentioned also a positive is that Sydney Brown is basically a foregone conclusion at this point that he should be ready by week six and then the same hope is with James Bradberry but we'll see on his official timeline however in the more immediate news the Eagles injury report seems to be pretty promising ahead of Friday's game as all 53 guys were practicing in some capacity which is the same to be said for the Packers as Green Bay head coach Matt LeFleur said it's one of his healthiest units he's had entering an opener so let's go both squads at full strength and I know I've said this before but my excitement level is probably even more than serani seeing saquin at this point this is Philly's first chance to see squin Barkley I'm just excited as them my tell all time Hyped to see Saquon Barkley he's he's a superum u so excited to see the show over the last six years I got to see him twice a year uh watch him do some of the most amazing things I've seen a running back do on the field um and just uh he fits so well into our offense and I'm really glad he's here he's going to be a lot of fun to play with I mean he he made a run at practice yesterday and I just remember like I I was wearing sunglasses it was sunny out just kind of looking taking my sunglasses off and looking at a couple coaches I'm like all right this is awesome you know that we that we got him here not only for the play that he brings to the field and the cut that he made yesterday at practice but also his leadership and and the person and Devon just told us that everyone should look forward to seeing the Sequon show for real because just it's been so vanilla with what we've seen in preseason how excited are you for that to really put out for this I'm I'm looking forward to see the Devonte show the AJ Brown Show jayen Herz show Dallas go show all those guys yep about to see that acquisition pay huge dividends like it literally feels like Christmas is right around the corner or maybe even better than that which could be why the Eagles announced another Philly special Christmas album that will be released on November 29th so of Philly releases Caden Sterns course you know I'll be giving one of enough with the Eagles announcing they signed Jack Driscoll to bring him back this time to the practice squad as well as wide receiver Kyle Phillips while releasing tight end Kevin folch and safety Kaden Sterns so cool good for Driscoll and not a bad option for for the practice squad I suppose but what the heck is up with Kaden Sterns I mean I was already on the fence with the move anyway since after all the Broncos released him only for the Panthers to sign him and then for Sterns to f a physical and get released however after how he made the move to pick him up knowing full well that he wasn't healthy it seemed like it was a long-term play yet unfortunately the 24-year-old patella tinant injury must be worse than they had even hoped as he's now being let go so hopefully he's able to recover but still all in all it's a weird situation now as for the other signing of Kyle Phillips he's a former fifth round pick out of UCLA in the 2022 draft by the Tennessee Titans where over the course of 196 offensive snaps Phillips New WR added to the roster managed to haul in 23 catches on 35 targets for 259 yards so yeah not great but it's probably his punt returning as to why they added him to the practice squad since Phillips has recorded nine returns for 85 yards at a 9.4 average obviously you hope that Britain cubby never gets injured but clearly howwi he felt like these moves
