[Applause] they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one it's a bad sign on offense when you have that many people running free at your running back that means guys up front aren't getting their blocks just too many hats getting to the ball carrier I love his effort making multiple guys miss but still it's a negative [Applause] play third down conversions are a huge stat in this this one would be a doozy if they can pull it off looking for a man it's locked unloads to the Wi out nice defensive play e there and knock it away and the Badgers will bring the punt team onto the field he ought to be able to use his first punt to pin him deep no return coming he'll call for the fair catch so the Miami red Hogs offense taking the field first chance we have to see them today as we take a look at our impact players for this game David what do you look for to make an impact from your leaders your leaders not only have to lead the football team but they got to step up and make plays on the field keep everybody calm these guys typically do a really good good job of it yeah David and they also generally set the tone for their respective football teams regardless of which side of the ball they play on the teammates look towards them to step up in big games like this he wants to pass it on second down he's right on target they make the stop if this passing game does some damage and they move the sticks with the first down he'll do it himself he's down in the back field he'll lose a couple I'll tell you this is a hard defense to run against if you're going to go sideline to sideline because of that guy speed at linebacker he can get all the way to the perimeter chase the quarterback down on the option and make the tackle behind the line of scrimmage impressive that's what you expect from a senior don't give them any extra yards great tackle there this crowd going to try to make life miserable for these guys they go to the draw he breaks a tackle picks up just a few before he's brought down not really willing to take a risk there on Third and long the Red Hawks will try to pin them back with the punt this will be their first punt of the afternoon no return possible on this one it goes out of bounds and they'll mark it right around the 30yd line the Wisconsin offense will come back on the field to jump around a bit they hope to be able to cash in on this drive David after having to punt it with the first play you need to be successful and productive on that first play and it gets you in less predictable situations no doubt too don't you just feel like there's a little bit more sense of urgency on this drive it just feels like they've got to be able to put some points up on the board here good spot after that seven yd pickup on first down it's second and three looking for a crease it's AER wrestled down at the 4 three after getting five well there we go we finally see some life in this offense running the football nice game to pick up the first down got to get more of that going moving forward cuz they have not run they'll ride the running back and leave it with him and how about the work up front by that big defensive line got stuffed on first down it's second and 10 dropping back it's locked that pass is incomplete and they might be fortunate it wasn't knock free for a fumble it'll be third down it's hard throwing in the pocket man you got bodies and 300lb dudes falling all over the place they're trying to hit you that time the pressure got to him and it forced the incompletion on Third and long he has to throw for it and that pressure just engulfed him a sack for this defense the Badgers will line up to pun it away this will be the second time they've had to kick it away he'll call for the fair catch here Miami Ohio has it back the Red Hawks offense heads to the field that last Drive fizzled out Jesse they had to punt it yeah they did and David they're just going to have to do a better job this time around erasing the mental mistakes and just trying to solve the defensive riddle understanding what they're trying to do to you and attack them sixy pick up on first down leaves him with second and four hand off to the single running back and after the tackle we are headed to the end of the first [Applause] quarter we've reached the end of the first quarter and it has been a defensive battle in the tell the tale so far let's see if the offenses can find a little rhythm here in the second a third down play to open up this [Music] quarter they try to pop a run on the draw they sto him after a short game probably just wanted to mitigate the losses with fourth down coming and the RedHawks will send off the punt unit this will be the second time they've had to kick it [Applause] away and they'll get him on the ground as Yaz comes out to start the next drive all right guys so here's the offense back on the field Again David the punter got some work last time they'd like to keep him on the sidelines in this drive yeah it's not something you want to say very often you don't want the punter out there this offense needs to get back GED up and get a little bit more of a wi best way to do that identify where your best players are and just get them the football give these guys some touches to Kickstart this offense back to pass it's lock got the back over the middle and they'll move the chains and get it to the 47 yd line the Wisconsin quarterbacks always know their role sometimes they got to make the big plays from a Daryl bevel to a Russell Wilson and knowing your role means knowing that you're going to hand the football off a lot you're going to be a playaction team and pick and choose your spots but it won't be an offense with Wisconsin that it's opening up it's throwing the football 30 40 times a game here they come on second and 10 from the 47 after the incompletion this fired on the last play they'll go back to the air little too much juice on that one from the junior I love the decision by the quarterback he found the open man just don't love the throw got to be a little bit more accurate make it easier on your Target on third down he drops to throw and the incomplete pass will bring up fourth down it's so nice when you know it's third and long you know a pass is coming you worked on it all week get your feet set at the sticks understand that quarterback's got to be rushed get him off of his spot nice execution by this defense guys we'll see what this Red Hawks to offense can get done this time the last time we saw this offense we had to look quick it was a three and out Jesse he just had no rhythm in that last drive so someone's going to have to step up and make a play David and get this thing going yeah let's find some juice find your guy find those plays that you know you can run inside out forward backwards get some first downs get some positive momentum from the gun the ground game that keeps the running game churning pick up of five to the 23 I know the passing game sells and the passing game is exciting but it's not exciting to get five or six yards a pop on the ground but it will be very successful gives it to the back on the draw he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple but the red hwks will call on their punt team he'll try to really get into this one he will signal for the fair Catch and take it just inside the 35 and Wisconsin has its offense back on the field they've hit a bit of a love here and they need to get things cranked up with this possession Jesse just haven't had a rhythm these last couple of possessions but I'll tell you the best way to get back into one is to run the football establish yourselves up front the line of scrimmage and help keep these third Downs managing yeah and the best news is your defense at least forced a punt of their own so now you can go answer with that good stop while this game is still close let's just keep putting more points on the board and let's see less of the pun really nice stop there from this senior leader you know runs like this often times are like a boxer in a boxing match obviously it's not a knockout punch but these are body blows and as the game goes on these small gains are going to turn into longer runs finds the tie end nice pitch and catch there and they'll have enough for the first down they pick up the first down on the drag route I know that seems like a simple rout but it's a lot more complex than what it looks like because that route changes based on whether it's man or Zone if it's man coverage he's flying across the field but the Zone he's got to sit down over the ball in a soft spot giving his quarterback a place to go with it nice job of those guys being on the same page there got eight on first down now looking at a second and two they'll try the run and they try the middle of this Stout defense and they rise to the challenge you got to have that def that you know you need to go to in running situations your base defense when you say okay this is where I'm going to start and I'm going to stop the run stuff it up front my guys play Big up front then if I need to add some blitzes to it later on down the road I can a great job in the base defense making a play they make the stop but not before they do their work up top and pick up a first down and the Badgers are moving quickly down the [Music] field he wants to throw right down the middle and it's incomplete if you're going to take a hit like that you might as well hang on to the ball after the misfire now on second [Applause] down back to throw it's locked fires to the wide out and it'll be incomplete this defense is physical and pass deep this drive was clicking along but after a couple of misfires threatening to fall out on Third and 10 looking to throw it again unloads to the Wi out oh man another incompletion that's three in a row now on fourth down they'll settle for a field goal try this try will come from the left pass and he'll try to curl it in from 38 not a chance missed it after the Miss no change in the score the Miami Ohio offense returns to the field their Drive chart is starting to look a little monotonous punt punt HT David and their defense is starting to get a little frustrated too they just keep putting me back on the field possession after possession Jesse this offense needs to get their heads out of there you know what the punters on the sideline with the o mask right now he's been playing so much he's not used to this this offense they just got to stay on the field they got to put a drive together and get some balance going running and throwing the ball first down here with time for maybe one more play until the two-minute warning the clock has stopped and we've reached the two-minute warning before halftime they'll snap this one from the 32 it's first down looking to move it through the air s spot in the middle and he gets a big chunk of yardage to the 34 yd line this first half of offense won't go on the Highlight Reel so far starting to get things moving it's first and 10 how about that play to get a hand in there and force the incompletion that is a tremendous job by the defender on that play Because when the ball was thrown his head was turned around he was watching the receiver quickly spun the head turned his shoulder located the ball and then knocked it Downs it in and they'll finally catch up to him but not before a big chunk of yardage is picked up and the Red Hawks will have it first and 10 from the Red Zone he's going to throw it he's got it on the move they go up top to get it down to the five yd line as they try to pay off this drive going to work in the Red Zone they can pick up the first down without getting it into the end zone to the air it's Quinn he's got it so close to that end zone he could almost taste it but it'll be first and goal for this offense defense is backed up shadow of the goal post trying to defend their own End Zone quarterback on the keeper he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three the offense calls timeout it's the second one they've used this half he wants to throw here on second down and he will score touchdown Miami touchdown and I just love the execution by this offense late in the half man you want to take the lead you want to get that momentum on your side and they do it they finish it with the passing game I tell you what keep that passing game up you can keep this lead keep the momentum and keep putting up numbers and the extra point makes it seven nothing so it's an 80 yd drive and the score comes on a 5yd touchdown pass the kickoff team out there and ready to go here he comes from inside his own five and returner will be dragged down just a few seconds remaining here as they try to put something up before halftime they'll run it from the gun across the 25 he's got room he will step out of bounds but not before the big pick up and a first down for this offense quarterback will Audible they'll ride the hot hand that's what you expect from a senior don't give them any extra yards great tackle there they'll use a timeout right before halftime maybe time for one or two more plays they'll have just enough time to get one more snap before the [Applause] half on second down he's looking down field makes the grab on the right plenty of room on that play and they find their way to the 36 there's a timeout called as this offense tries to find a way to draw a little [Applause] closer just enough time for one final play of the half [Applause] easy going up top on first down oh he loves to fire down field pass is incomplete and that's going to do it for the first half first half in the book time now to join Kevin Connors in our halim update kickoff and kickoff return teams on the field and we are just about ready to go in the second half and it'll be a Touchback the ball will come out to the 25 yd line Miami Ohio has it back the Red Hawks offense heads to the field a quick pass to the left and a good job in coverage there as they stop it after just a few didn't get much on first down it's second and [Applause] nine to the air it's Quinn and that's going to be incomplete a lot of contact on the play but no Flags it'll be third down they line up with some serious work to do if they want to convert this one on Third and trying to have a big completion here and it slips through his fingers incomplete that would have been a huge gain if he could have squeezed it the RedHawks decide to punt it away fourth time tonight we've seen this guy come on to punt he gets a block coverage team was down there to Corral him they made the Stop and they'll at the 39 the Wisconsin offense will come back on the field and jump around a bit the sledding has been tough scores have been at a premium Jessie in every possession seems like it could switch the momentum of the game yeah Reese for this offense just feels like they just haven't been as physical for this offensive coordinator David he's having to go and the good thing is there's not a ton of game pressure cuz the other side's not scoring either but if you can find that one thing that get that one positive play and then maybe you get those juices going and something can start to beat that's a good looking throw and I know when we talk Wisconsin offense we're always talking about running backs but they've seen their fair share of QBs too Darren Beville back in my day Scott toine had some success and then of course Russell Wilson also this guy right now in this game he needs to get himself into a rhythm and if he gets there he's dangerous on the ground it's AER and they'll stop him after a minimal pickup it's just simple simple first down run showing your physicality setting your offense up at a good spot on second down wants to throw firing to the right complete and an absolutely Fearless tackle giving up size still got him on the tur passing game very effective on second down what about here on third grabbed over the middle it's Henry now well within Striking Distance as that third down play gets him first at the 29 the Badgers have their offense in high gear wants to throw on first down got it behind the line it's Anthony he is going nowhere stop at the line of scrimage I'll tell you the offense might be setting up a shot down the field here you might see them later fake the wide receiver screening see if they can hit a tight end or another receiver running up the boundary keep your eye open for that defense getting stingier in their own end of the field it's third and long from the 28 wants to throw it's lock and they can't make the connection on third down nice job by the defense they're mixing up their look they're third and long in field goal range they go Zone coverage so everybody on the back end has the eye on the quarterback and they're able to break the ball forc the incompletion oh and he missed it no good after that Miss still a seveno game guys miamiin [Applause] guys we'll see what this Red Hawks offense can get done this time man oh man these offenses just haven't been able to find any room to get things going David and to quote the great philosopher reys Davis this is very un good just nothing working for this offense Palmer they got to find something well the plays look good against the scout team during the week in practice but they have just not been able to find a rhythm against this defense today he'll pull it on the read they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one and that is beautiful execution by the defense what do I do with that option string him along don't let him make a quick decision don't let it be obvious did a good job slow playing it stretching it out everybody being able to run the football use the sideline as a Defender nice job by the defense they finally get him stopped but what a good job by that front wall to set up the screen and create some Lan for their running back the give to the tailb and I think they'll give him two on that one second and eight coming up I never know if it's grammatically correct to say a team is being out physical you hear it a lot in football though that's happening in this game they are just not getting the push they need all game long up front to have's a b now it's picked off and the offense makes the tackle in frustration after the interception Drive comes up EMP it's a turnover and I tell you what when defenses Play Zone all eyes are on the fo you have a Zone to drop to and you're setting on the quarterback reading his eyes great job by the defense understanding the ball was coming out breaks on the football goes and makes the int complete in the middle and he was Off to the Races finally tripped up at the 36 really want to try to pick up at least half of the yardage needed on first and 10 he's going to pass and he got smacked just as he released the pass it's incomplete another incompletion and I've said that a lot and these teams are just strugging I mean the offense just doesn't know what to do nothing's working ground game Throw game it's kind of been a rock fight on both sides how bold will they be on third down after that last run to the air it's lock intercepted taking it the other way he's inside the 40 and a big return after the int sets up the offense for this possession and this ball looks like it just got away from the quarterback I think he made the right decision he was going to the receiver that seemed open but just not very accurate on throw and that leads to the interception the Miami Ohio offense returns to the field boy they hope this next Drive is more productive after throwing a pick last time Jesse Yeah and the coaches did a good job on the sideline there just talking to the Young quarterback and making sure he's able to turn the page calm him down to go out and refocus this drive yeah and some people do that better than others but you got to show some trust in him maybe get the ground game going help around him a little bit with this system nowhere to run on that when he loses four on the carry and if I'm the running back I'm like listen hold on can you give me something can you give me some space to try to make somebody Miss and not have another guy right next to me I'm giving the offensive line an earful I need some holes need some space up front I got to do a better job keeps the legs moving they bring him down but a solid pick up to put them in position to pick up a first down really need to pick up this conversion and avoid having to settle for the field goal he's looking to throw caught in the back field it's West he'll be stopped just short of the end zone but they'll have it first and goal and the Red Hawks look to keep this drive humming off the play fake on first down wants to throw and the defense makes a play sacking him back at the 10 that is a great job getting the quarterback and when you're playing in Camp Randle stadium and one of the loudest atmospheres in all of college football and your offensive line can't hear the snap count you've got dudes like T watt or JJ Watt coming off the edge it's not a lot of fun it's not really fun for this quarterback right now either with this dud rushing they' love to make this short field payoff with a touchdown instead of settling for three but it is third and goal looking to throw it's Quinn reels it in in the end zone touchdown RedHawks well he's a matchup nightmare because of his size and his speed so difficult for defenses to defend this guy nice job there working the post route really accurate throw and it ends up being a touchdown and the extra point pushes the lead to 14 so they move the ball 37 yds on the drive and they finish it up with a three yd scoring toss and he takes this from inside the five didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 and Wisconsin has its offense back on the field now we'll get a chance to see if they can answer that last score trailing by 14 Jesse Yeah and at this point of the game I feel like offensively you should go back to what's been working for you in this game don't be afraid to dial up plays that you've already had success with running it and throwing it it's okay to repeat plays down 14 at this point and I would also say Palmer kind of understanding that my defense is not playing great so I know offensively I got to put some good and that ball is picked off didn't get a ton on the return but the most important thing he got the ball and they've got it at the 48 listen we all want to go back to back but not on interceptions come on now we got to take care of the football let's make sure we change something up on the next drive two possessions two picks offensive coordinator excuse me get the bullpen one up offense set on first down looking for a physical attack from the gun able to pick his way forward for a decent game before the defense gets him down second down coming up they'll run it out of the shotgun and he finds no Running Room at all and the third quarter is over maybe more Open Spaces coming in the fourth that'll do it here in the quarter guys and Miami Ohio has the lead they built a comfortable lead after three4 of play Let's Take a look at how we got here [Music] one more period to go and we'll see just how much fight they've got left in them we've got this third down play to open the quarter looking to throw it's Quinn receiver looks at in it's complete a quick tackle made but he's knew what they were getting into a really good running back we talked to them this week it was the main focus point of this offense stopping the Run game stopping the Run game boy have they showed up and showed out and answered that challenge that pass is incomplete and they're probably fortunate that it wasn't knock free for a fumble on third down he'll try to pick it up up through the air safe completion on the screen love the execution there in the screen the running back shows pass protect pass protect last second turns around so he's able to get the ball the D linan have already run past him now he can turn up field for a big Gainer field goal is good and that lead grows even bigger and for a quick update let's go to Kevin Conor in the studio Dynamite match up this week fellas let's in the hurry up yeah and David you just wonder at this point is it just too little too late this is one of their best Playmakers offensively but they just haven't been able to get him going in this game big reason why they're losing yeah and the defense has done a great job understanding that I got to take that guy away that's priority number one understand it late in the game now up by multip scores I'm playing my defense a little bit different can't give up the big plays time is on my side hit hard as he released the ball on that first down pass and it never had a chance wonder if they'll throw it again after the incompletion second and 10 from the 49 makes the grab not a big window and that throw was money and they've got it at the 30 after moving the sticks with the pass here we are on first down looking down field it's lock throws toward the end zone and it was worth going for a chunk play but the long pass is incomplete unless there is a dramatic turn of events this is not going to be a way to cool off that hot seat and they're going to have to be able to handle adversity and handle the outside noise moving forward because losing this game in week one all the detractors all the naysayers that noise is going to get louder that hot seat is getting even hotter and I think all eyes are going to be on this program now David seeing how they turn the page and move on from this and I stagged in the end zone touchdown Wisconsin and this offense gets on the board and the first passing touchdown of the season and I feel pretty confident saying the first of many this offense looks like they're in a good Rhythm and this passing attack is going to be hard to stop ling up to add another oh do you just hate to see it BW the extra point so a drive there of 85 yd and they close the deal with a 16 yd throw for the touchdown he thought about bringing that out for a half second but he'll take a knee and they'll bring it to the 25 Miami Ohio has it back the Red Hawks offense heads to the field Jesse they had to kick a field goal the last time they had it and the ball comes out what a disastrous play defense falls on the ball going to be a turnover that's what I'm talking about keep fighting right this game ain't over yet like you still got an opportunity does it look good no but now I got the ball back great job by the defense forcing the turnover now we'll see if we can go out and make this thing interesting put some plays together maybe get an onside kick who the heck knows and he was hit just as he was releasing the pass and it falls to the ground incomplete there all right you dug yourself a little bit of a hole offensively you know you're going to have to throw it here in the second half you're going to have to make sure though you do a better job up front with your pass Pro you got to keep your quarterback standing upright out of the shotgun they go to the ground and how about that interior defense stuffing the run for nothing they'd love to pick up this third down and get a fresh set with first and goal they're bringing heat and he's got it touchdown Badger well we wondered exactly where the momentum was and it looks as if Uncle MO might have switched Sidelines and switched families and momentum is such a big thing it's such a real part of college football isn't it you can just feel that right now just felt a few minutes ago like this game was over and all of a sudden this team they're believing in themselves they've got some win they've got some hope their defense now that needs to get the football back to keep that momentum going quick strike offense on that three playay scoring drive and the score comes on a 12yd tou down pass he'll start the return inside is five nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the 16 guys we'll see what this Red Hawks offense can get done this time that last fumble proved to be costly as they cashed it in for a touchdown yeah and so this defense now is Juiced they're excited and ready to go so this offense David they've got to get something going yeah those turnovers can be contagious man they get you excited when your offense takes it down the field and does something with it this offense better be ready to play against a motivated defense tackle was made after the first down well the offense knew what they needed to get that first down so they dial up the running play and they get just enough to keep the drive alive back to throw it's Quinn quick strike complete and the defense settled in to stop that one for a short gain Hey listen on offense just take what the defense gives you quarterback looks out wide he sees the DB way off of the receiver throw the easy hitch pass you'll take that completion finds his way for three out to the 33 you got to give this defense credit because they have bottled this guy up all game long he's one of the best running backs in all of college football everybody was expecting him to have a big one today don't tell that to this defense though they've played with great effort they've gotten hats to the football and they have been able to shut him down these fans stepping up to help this defense on third down from the gun wants to pass and this is going to be incomplete on Third and the Red Hawks line up to pun it away offenses know and work on it all week third Downs third downs we got to be really really good this offense not good on this third down it could come back to bite and he's going to get it up to about the 20 Y Line before he's brought down the Wisconsin offense will come back on the field to jump around a bit they put it in the end zone the last time they had it and now an opportunity to really take control of this game you can feel the momentum shifting if they were able to take the football here drive it down the field score again David they would have all of that momentum on their side and there's nothing about momentum that you can quantify like I I don't understand it but once it gets going in One Direction a lot times it's so hard to swing it back the other direction the momentum is real and they got it the offense will put it in play from the 47 on First and 10 unloads it left he got a hand in there knocks it away incomplete this defense right now is not only fighting an offense with a lot of confidence but they're fighting against momentum too remember they had a big lead earlier in this game now it's been reduced to just one possession so they've got to and that is interception number three on the day and the senior just snatched the ball out of the air and gave it back to his offense aggressive versus Reckless it's such a fine line when you're trailing and you need to make plays late in the game the offense was Reckless turn the football over and this one doesn't look great the Miami Ohio offense returns to the field and they come out with a field goal lead defense just got a stop now to capitalize David yeah keep the momentum going right defense did a great job they held serve got you the football back Jesse let's go get some points I'm curious to see how they're going to do this are they going to be aggressive after the defense got the Stop and take a shot or they going to try to be more conservative here and bleed the clock the give and tick tick tick tick tick tick tick he's right out of bounds but a big playay on that one and it'll be a first down quick timeout called by the def defense stopping the clock to save as much time as possible for their offense looking for a productive play on first down and it looks as if the offense will just take a knee I know this is disappointing but plenty of teams have suffered early losses and come back to have great
