Gen X Dad Introduced to, by His Gen Z Daughter, and Reacts to Chappell Roan - A Double Shot

hey everybody welcome back I the eagle fan this is my channel I react to music on here and today I have a guest hello it's me again it is my oldest she has returned this time however she has me reacting to something mhm and it's a double shot got a little double feature I don't know what to expect so yes I'm scared happy pride month everyone there we go that's how it will start it it's a gay video yeah so I will let you so Chapel rone is an upand cominging uh queer pop star who has um put out an album actually last year but it's just blown up this year when she was opening for um Olivia Rodrigo's tour uh her guts tour that's touring right now um and she just blew up all over social media and now she is one of the biggest queer pop stars out there I would say she's been doing a lot of um live performances and I would say that's where she's definitely like at her best she has dry Queens open for she usually does drag at her shows um very supportive of the queer Community her music incorporates a lot of queer culture um and she's just overall a great queer artist who supports everyone and tries to have a safe space for everyone so I think she has a beautiful voice the the range that she can do with her voice is very impressive um I chose this one for you because it's has kind of like an 80s pop Vibe honestly like this is if there was a lesbian 80s pop star this is like what it would be like okay see I love her I I listen to her every day I don't know what I'm in for but let's find out this is good luck babe okay this is Chapel rone good luck babe let's get over here yeah bring her on up I mean we won't probably see her in this video the video oh this is just a lyric video so here we [Music] go it's fine it's cool you can say that we nothing but you know the truth and it was made on an old windows uh media player um editor or whatever that was called back then so yes how old is this video it's it came out this year came out a few months ago this is actually a single this is from her album her album is called the I really didn't say it earlier it's called the rise and fall of the midwestern princess cuz she's from Missouri okay it's it's very interesting so far it's not it it has almost a Taylor Swift sound to me I wasn't expecting that because I I while I do love Taylor Swift she does not have the range that chaperone does show in this video but I I don't know if you've listened to enough Taylor Swift yet uh that would depend upon never mind I'll be good okay I have not listened to much Taylor Swift let's put it that way um seems okay granted it's not my normal go-to yeah so I will say that although of what else I had lined up here to show you one of those also isn't my normal go-to so fair um have you figured out what the song is about yet um what's the song about okay the song is about uh the experience where she likes this girl and this girl likes her but the girl's not secure in her sexuality so she's still dating guys and she doesn't want to admit that she likes women so this song is kind of like from chaperon perspective upset because obviously it's playing with her emotions okay that that is what I could tell there was some definitely some uh conflict there yeah she's very good at incorporating the queer experience within her music so that a lot of queer even if they're not lesbians because she's a lesbian uh can relate to it now I will say I am not good many times the first time I hear songs of picking up the lyrics understandable many times the first time I hear songs it's more just auditory that I'm listening to I'm listening to music listening to the singing and not always picking up the words there's been many reactions that I've had in the past to different songs that you I like the song I reacted to how I thought based at on what I was hearing at that point in time and then it wasn't until later I'm editing the video all of a sudden now I'm really picking up the words and the lyrics and the meanings and and wishing that I had picked that up during the time of the actual reaction but unfortunately not the case not always the case once in a while I can so let's finish this one out it's okay but I like her album stuff better but then I listened to it a few times and then I was like wait a second wait a second and like I just started picking up on a lot of the little vocal things that she did as well like like some of the parts when she does those prolong notes at the end well she's just she's great uh love love her so much and the reason I wanted to show you one more clip is because I wanted you to see her perform something live uh this is for I don't know if anyone's ever seen tiny desk concerts but it's a little live performance um behind a little desk tiny desk concert um and this one's Pink Pony Club this one is about running away and just being who you are in a place that accepts you while your mom might not agree with it but I just want to show you her live because she's one of those artists that can also very much perform live totally fine um to let everybody know this one is a longer video I don't know how long the song itself is going to be so I will put a pause somewhere in the middle of it m it's a full set here a full it's like 23 minutes there's multiple songs we're just going to watch one of the songs in here but I don't know where to pause because of the fact that it's not like there's not chapters listed on here so I don't know where the one song ends and the next one begins so we'll find that out as we get there I don't know what to expect is she one of no she's not one of them this is her backup band also her band's all women which is what I love I love your you go does the same thing there I wanted to bring that up there so everybody could kind of see what it was I was just talking about but this is her these are her um instrumentalists if you will band I guess also that would be a better way to word it all right well this is here's her people who have instruments and they do stuff with the instruments and you also see here her drag and like her very big wig once it cuts to her um okay so I don't know what to really grabbing me at all so I do apologize on that okay um and the the lipstick on her teeth it's part of it is bugging me it it is a part of it it's the messy she has a cigarette in her wig too in where in her wig at the top of her wig there's a cigarette okay why cuz it's iconic how is that iconic just the whole the whole vibe just the details that she put into it fun fact every person who does a tiny desk concert usually leaves something like for the desk apparently she gives them her wig so tiny desk concert has this wig now okay I don't even know what tiny desk concert is but okay you should check it out NPR does it it's um it's artists go on there and they just do a little set but it's all like behind the desk live Olo has two which are really great but there's a bunch of like the moment um this one is also a more acoustic e version of the song in the normal song I don't the break like the it's like more of a guitar solo I don't think it's usually the violin okay I don't I don't mind that part or anything it's just I don't know now you might see some of this discussion we'll see what happens when I go to post this since this is a special show that they're live on I've had many issues with things like that where it's a special little look acoustic set that like uh like in this case NPR or you know many other different countries that I've reacted to to things people from many times these kind of concerts Whoever has the rights over the concert part and the Airing of it can sometimes be a little tricky to get those videos posted hopefully I'll see please be nice to us NPR well it probably goes beyond NPR it's usually not just them but then the production company so I don't know um but we'll see hopefully it is uh I don't know I I listen this song twice today okay on the way third time three times yeah now it's third okay um I am not going to throw any shade at it I will let everyone out there decide on it as you see fit what do you think let us know down of the box video reactions coming up something I'm going to show her and it's actually going to be something I haven't seen yet either from a an artist that I have reacted to multiple times in the past and who also doesn't fit what would be my quote unquote normal uh list of musicians that I would listen to although he does fall into that because he's very talented so keep an eye out that'll be
