Purdue vs Rutgers Friday night prime time

the campus of fleers University in Piscataway New Jersey where the game will be a little more technical but no less [Applause] down so rur returns all the time David I mean what can't he do he's got the weapons he's got the confidence he's got the experience Jesse these kind of guys are so hard to defend you're right they better be able to find a way to get pressure on him cuz if they don't this is going to be a long day when I'm an offensive coach I'm going to take shots I'm going to take those 5050 balls and most of the time I'm going to trust my wide receiver to come down with it the defensive back said no sir the incomplete pass leaves him with second down they'll leave it with him at the 20 he's got space and he'll have enough for the first down at the 42 defense is going to have their hands full trying to stop this guy they better rally to the football and get more multiple hats cuz he is not easy to bring down no matter where they are on the field they've got one that has them set up first and 10 at the 42 might as well give it to him again I'll tell you this is second and seven running back searching for a hole still on his feet at the 45 he's one out of bounds but not before turning in a big pickup and moving the sticks for a first down I think it's really important for this offense they get this guy going early in the game and they're doing a nice job of that right now remember he's the kind of running back who gets better as the game goes on that's a really good omen for this offense considering his success now early from the gun he leaves it with the b and a good solid pick up there before the defense knocks him down yeah this coaching staff they're getting this on offensive line lathered up and into a rhythm now they're letting him drive off the ball on first down on these running plays and they're getting chunks of yardage eight- yd pickup on first down leaves them with second and short the run from the shotgun he showed it all there a little lucidness a little power and he's got the first down I think throughout the week in practice when they were game planning their opening script I don't even know if they envisioned it going as well as it has this has been beautiful nice balance really nice Rhythm it feels like everything they're dialing up here on their first drive of the game is working to Perfection they've marched to the Red Zone and here they go he's got it on the move and he cruises his way to the house touchdown ruer well that couldn't have gone any better so great for an offense to come out right out of the gate and for a touchdown on your opening drive it just helps the offense establish that Rhythm that is so important it'll be interesting now to see how this offense does the remainder of this [Music] contest lining up for the pat extra [Applause] point and with the extra point they get the first seven of the [Applause] game that makes the score R almost ready to kick it away after scoring the [Applause] touchdown and he takes this from inside the five he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic but they get him on the ground at the 20 so the perue boiler makers offense headed onto the field our first look at them today as we take a look at our impact players for this one what are you looking for Jesse for a guy to make an impact well these are simply put the leaders of this football team and generally games go how these guys play if they make plays and they've got a shot to win this one no doubt they got to show up the these are the team leaders these guys have to should play well if they're going to win the [Music] foame didn't get much on first down it's second and nine and off from the shotgun maybe picked up a couple he's down at the 24 [Music] [Applause] quarterback stands alone all wide receivers looking to throw it's Carr unleashes it on the run that was almost picked off and what a disaster that would have been to throw a pick on the opening drive instead it's fourth down wow the quarterback got away with one there's lucky that Defender dropped that pass because if he picks it he might have taken that one to the house the boiler makers line up to punt it [Applause] away not going to risk a return here calls for the fair Catch and makes it just around the 30 yd line and the ruter offense heads back onto the field from the gun the running back looking for room and they'll stop him just short of the first down just inches away from moving mistakes man when I can run the football like that on a lot of success on the offensive side of the [Applause] football they give it to him again they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one defense is about firing off hitting the offensive guys and staying in your gaps everybody knowing where they're supposed to be you could tell the defense everyone was right where they're supposed to be nowhere to run offense breaks the Huddle it's third down they'll try to run for it and he gets it done on third down they move the chains and they'll mark it at the 44 yeah you start day one of training camp running your base runs you need a few yards you run these plays you need a first down you run these plays you rep them over and over and over again they're not sexy they're not pretty but in the end they're effective and they get you that new the Downs when you need them they'll run it from when it's second and 11 looking for room it's Monaga continuing to turn and move it forward and they're closing in on Midfield it's down at the 48 I think tackling is about effort most of the time it's about how much passion how much physicality you can bring to get your guy on the ground refuse not to get him on the ground that's not a big back you got to get that guy on the on the ground you can't let him pick up an extra couple yards and stay ahead of the sticks on third down he'll try to pick it up through the air finds his to spot in the middle and the defense able to drag him down but not before they'll recycle that down marker one of the things I love about this running back he can run a lot of different types of routes I like the job on the angle route there putting his foot in the ground crossing the defender space and making it an easy pitch and catch for the QB the Scarlet Knights look to keep this drive humming they think they can create space here with the run to the right not a whole lot of room there three yards maybe second and seven you know runs like this often times are like a boxer in a boxing match obviously it's not a knockout punch but these are body blows and as the game goes on these small Gams are going to turn into longer runs got three on first down it's second and seven he's looking to throw that's caught it's Miller he almost pick up the first down on that one but he'll be just a little bit short and that's the looking man coverage you can throw the hitch route against right when the receiver's got a little bit of access so he's got some room to work with against press you're risking a pick six so good decision there by the Q knowing that was a good look to throw into on Third and short the power run here that'll be enough for the first first down as they mark it down at the 31 yd line yeah had a nice job dialing up that short yardage situation play call there David they needed one yard picked up two yeah great job up front great job by the back knowing where they need to go nice having a hole you can get through and not have to just do it all on your own as a running back they'll give it to him again makes the tackle right at the 21 yd line pick up of 10 on the play and this offense is threatening with a first down well right away after picking up the first down they go right back to their playmaker at running back and I love the push they got up front getting a hat on a hat opening a huge hole for the back and you become so hard to defend when you can run the football successfully on the first down you're starting like that now what opens up play action now you're making me play pass hand run this offense if they can create that run physicality now it opens up everything else picked up two yards on that last one they need eight on second down looking for a physical attack from the gun and he's tripped up but not before picking up the first down well the offense knew what they needed to get that first down so they dial up the running play they get just enough to keep the drive alive and the Scarlet Knights trying to cash it in on first and [Applause] goal got it behind the line it's Miller and the defense coming with bad intentions a pounce on that screen and get the tackle for a loss the run up the middle trying to find his way to the goal line he pushes his way down to the four as get closer and closer and that last run is just a nice job seeing the hole exploding through it he has had a heck of a night now with that carry over a 100 yards on the game that's the mark you really want to hit as a running back and he's got that here tonight third and goal is where offensive coordinators earn their keep he makes a grab and he wanted to score badly but the defense wrestles him down at the two they' hop to be able to pick up enough after the catch but a good stop leaves them with a fourth and short really good job by the defense being physical understanding the situation in the game the ball's going to come out quick you know that go make the tackle Force the fourth down try to barge their way in Into The End Zone he goes touchdown Scarlet Knight you get down here in the Red Zone you get close to the end zone and you get gold at those situations you've got to be physical and I love teams that can run the football they run the football hand it to the running back he does the rest puts it in the end zone lining up to tack one more onto that [Music] lead and the extra point will tack another one onto this lead so they played keep away and held it for 16 plays on the scoring drive and finish to deal with the short touchdown run from the two just about set to kick it away on the run from inside his own five just never had a chance to shake loose and he'll be brought down at the 24 the bo makers have it back and here comes the offense to say this has been a slow start is a bit of an understatement and they really need to get it going here Jesse that's right the opponent they're firing an all cylinders right out of the gate offensively for this unit they've been slow and struggling they need an explosive play to wake themselves up yeah and it's just the first quarter so it's not the end of the world you've seen slow starts but you got to continue to pick and pick and pick until you find that play or or that scheme that you can use against this defense gets it out fast good job running that route to get past the sticks because he got nothing after the catch well we knew coming into this game this offense was going to try and get this receiver involved and get him involved early so here they are just finding an easy completion it's not a touchdown but they just want to get this guy lathered up and get him into a r they'll snap it from the 36 they've got a first down they'll go to the ground and he'll pick up one it brings up second and nine I like feeding my guy I like getting my running back touches feeding the ball so he can break some of those big runs but I'm also okay with these little ones set the tone stay balanced didn't get much on first down it's second and nine hand off from the gun that's what you expect from a senior don't give them any extra yards great tackle [Applause] there they've got some work to do on this third and long from the 40 back to pass it's Carr and the third down pass is incomplete [Applause] [Music] INE the boiler makers send out the punt unit this will be the second time they've had to kick it away [Applause] he'll feeli the Putt and look for room they'll get down and put a stop with this return they'll mark it at the 32 ruter has it back they'll send the offense back onto the field they'll try the run just working and poking and prodding and finding his way up to the 36 when you're a defense it is stop the run first that is your first responsibility it makes the whole game easy and right now they got it going in the ground the defense is going to have to change something up these little tiny Dink and dunk Dink and dunk you keep doing this they'll go all the way down the field on you so you might want to get a little bit more aggressive looking to throw on second down and he was hit just as he released it and it falls to the turf I love the job here by the linebacker he just kind of floats and's shuffling and he's waiting to see which way the quarterback's going to go with the football not able to snag it out of the air but hey batting it away it's a big time play couldn't find his man last time and that leaves him with a third and six from the gun wants to pass and he just throws it away that is not what you're looking for on third down fourth down coming [Applause] up the Scarlet Knights will try to pin them back with the punt [Applause] tries to find a little more Running Room on that return but he'll be stopped at the 36 the Purdue offense heads back out to the field they just didn't quite find the Rhythm on that last Drive Jesse they had to intercept it made that play was hoping to make another one on the return but they'll take it in business at the 41 well the defense comes away with the pick there with their nickel Personnel I think moving forward if you're on offense when you see that Personnel on the field you want to run the ball against it cuz you got smaller guys out there or if you're going to throw think about quick screens outside when you have tight ends flexed on the perimeter bigger bodies blocking smaller guys first down here for the offense from the gun the running back has it not a whole lot of progress made there on the short run that's a really good job by the defense wrapping them up getting them on the ground take away that run game make them onedimensional put him in passing situations really good job by the defense after picking up a couple at second and eight from the gun to give looking for room tough physical hard noosed running gets it to the 34 this defense has got to get better at tackling in the open field or gang tackling because if you need three or four guys to bring a guy down have fun with that they need a conversion on Third and three to make the most of that great starting field position they'll try to run for it they make the Stop and this running game moves to change as they get the first down there's really no secret to it David when this guy's running well this offense is so hard to stop it opens up everything and he's having a great day showing you a little bit of everything and this offense has got it rolling on the ground and the Scarlet Knights have it with a first and 10 one back in the back field and they'll give it to him and he's a real Nowhere Man tackled in this no gain land no doubt offense wants to keep running the football to win this game but I'm wondering if they're starting to go to the well too often they got to start showing some new wrinkles here at the second half they got nothing on the last play it's second and 10 from the gun running back gets to give headed to the end zone and he waltes in for the score touchdown Scarlet Knights and the running back gets his second rushing touchdown of the game you want to continue to feat this guy you can tell he's got a nose for the The End Zone knows how to get in there knows how to make things [Music] happen getting set for the point after is on for the extra point and with the extra point they're up 21 to nothing a very efficient five play scoring drive and they finished it with a beautiful 15yd Run for the score lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown Drive Hill Darth the return inside is five he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic but they get him on the ground at the 20 the boiler makers have back and here comes the offense well the good news about this drive Jesse it can't go worse than last time through a pick on the first play no it certainly can't I think one good way David to help your quarterback Turn the Page is just find him an easy completion here and let him get back into a red yeah or find him an easy hand off just hand the football off maybe get the ground game going maybe jump start this offense a little bit the boiler makers moving quickly to the line takes the hand off it's makobe and after the tackle we are headed to the end of the first quarter on the play guys it is ruter on top here at the end of the quarter they wanted to strike first and strike hard and they've been able to do that here in the first quarter as we take a look at the stats [Applause] this could be a pivotal moment in this game as we open the second period and they try to find a way to answer to throw it's Carr using the back as a receiver on the screen didn't have much room to run and not a whole lot of help short gain there and still plenty of ground to cover for the first down and so many things have to come together perfectly for a screen to work for big yardage and they were close you can tell that almost busted but they just got wrapped up got a a little bit of yardage but they really wanted that one to be a big game on Third and long trying to have a big completion here and the pass it's picked off not only made the pick but he also made up some ground and took it back to the 38 this is obviously not a great start for this quarterback here two interceptions already in this game he's got to do a much better job with his decision [Music] and the ruter offense heads back onto the [Music] field out of the gun the running back has it gets him on the ground at the 28 but not before a big 10yd pickup another good run man he has been picking up yards in bunches today Jesse showing off all the skills and he's showing no signs of slowing down David this guy just gets better as the game go goes on he is a beast offense has it at the 28 on first down right back to the well couldn't fight his way out of his grasp maybe that stop shows this defense is tightening up especially in the Run game the offense frankly they've been able to do whatever they want to do they just handed the ball off this guy's having success left and right no sir no Moss get it together got stuffed on first down it's second and 10 he's looking to throw fires to the wide out he caught it they'll get him stopped just short of the end zone but they're in business here with a first down nice play design on that one you make it easy for your quarterback too because it's easy to see what's happening right in front of you over the middle of the field you can see where Defenders are dropping you can see where the soft spots are in zone coverage and just a really nice job by the QB locating his guide making an accurate throw a first down run in the red zone and he takes it in for the score touchdown State University of New Jersey and he's in for his third rushing touchdown you College fantasy football players that is what you want to see plus six plus six plus six let's go [Music] [Applause] they'll try to add another to their [Applause] lead and with the extra point they pushed the lead out a little further quick work on that scoring drive just four plays and they closed the deal pushing their way inches into the end zone about to kick it away after scoring the touchdown set to kick it off on the move from inside is five couldn't find a way to create that broken field as he stopped at the 25 the Purdue offense heads back out to the field mistakes are going to happen as they did on that last drive now how will they respond Jesse and this is the kind of guy who's going to take full accountability that was my bad that's on me I'm about to lead this offense now down down the field to score some points dang Palmer I wish I would have played with you I didn't play with many quarterbacks that were just like yeah my bad hey guys I got this sorry about that it was more you should have ran a better route first and 10 they're getting this guy lathered up oh the ball squirts out everybody needs a little luck and the offense just got it by Falling on that fumble so the officials take a closer look in the replay Booth will overturn the call he'll pull it on the read he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three how about the defensive end understanding football understanding that I got to keep outside contain I'm responsible for the quarterback good job playing his responsibility and how about getting that sucker on the ground he's a pretty good athlete to be able to Coral him tackle him right in the middle of the field and get him to the ground on third down he drops to throw finds a man on the left defense caught out of position and they get him down finally at the 38 and the quarterback knew exactly where he wanted to go the football had time spins the ball deep nice job by this offense understanding what the defense has given them and creating the explosive play and the boiler makers are on the move going up top on first down complete to the right and they'll finally bring him down after he rips off a huge play and really good that guy a few more times today this first half of offense won't go on the Highlight Reel so far but starting to get things moving it's first and 10 he's got his man that completion will take him inside the 10 to the N yd line I like the slot receiver because he gives his quarterback a good option working the middle of the field a nice weapon in this [Music] offense going to work in the Red Zone they can't pick up the first down without getting it into the end zone motion by the back forces the defense to adjust pushes ahead for two to the seven yd line [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] tight quarters deep in the Red Zone but they can't pick up a first down without scoring third down back to throw it's C unleashes to the end zone and he's got it touchdown boiler makers one of the areas they really focused on with this receiver in the off season was we need you to make more plays for us in the end zone we're taking shots we need to be able to step up and make tough catches and David what a grab right there and I think a lot of that has to do with trusting your guy knowing where he's going to be knowing when he's going to sit down when he's not so being on the same page and then having a guy that can go get it just when the ball is near him he's going to make the play just like he did right there for six points now they'll line up for what they hope is automatic the extra point is good but they're still down 28-7 they put together a 74 yd touchdown drive and they Clos the deal with the seven Y for the score about to kick it off after punching it in for the touchdown set a kick one away here he comes from inside his own five couldn't find a way to create that broken field as he stopped at the 25 ruter has it back they'll send the offense back onto the field this has been exactly the way you draw things up David the the offense has really been moving the footb and it's been great execution they've done exactly what they've wanted to do build the lead now Palmer is a different animal now you got to protect it you can tell they were paying attention in practice this week in the film room because they have gone out everybody right now on the same page they got nothing on the last play it's second and 10 now the play fake I don't think that's the way they drew it up incomplete there's a lot of QBs that when they get get hit and when they get hurried and when they get pressured they become very average really nice job by the defense pressuring the quarterback probably the toughest call on the play sheet third and long Ball's at the 25 from the gun wants to pass LS one deep down the right side and that'll be incomplete they certainly weren't afraid to take a shot there and now it's fourth down it's so nice when you know it's third and long you know a pass is coming you worked on it all week get your feet set at the sticks understand that quarterback's got to be rushed get him off of his spot nice execution by this defense the Scarlet Knights will line up to punt it away this will be the second time they've had to kick it away slips through the line working his way on the return up to the 40 yd line before he stop the boiler makers have it back and here comes the offense the last time they had it they took it down the field for a touchdown they can build some confidence that they could go backto back scoring drives here yeah and remember it's not uncommon for offenses to find themselves as the game goes on they had some things not go their way early but they found something last Drive David let's see if they can build on it yeah you you you just pick and pick and pick until you find that place where you're like okay this is an advantage I have they've clearly found that dude they score here we're in for a ball game to the air it's Carr get it out out on the screen and maybe he'll get back to the line of scrimmage but no more than that nice job defense you always hear people talk about tackling the catch you saw it right there there was nowhere for that receiver to go once he had possession as a result no game third and long from the 42 if they can get some of it it might give them a chance to go for it on fourth down he's going to let one fly down the middle it's complete a huge pick up That's What's So Scary About This offense they've got guys in the perimeter that can change the game in one single play and you saw it right there too much speed on the perimeter to create that explosive play the boiler makers are in the hurry up they'll move the running back to try to force the defense to adjust and there is nothing doing on that one you got the completion and nothing else to show for it so many Playmakers so much speed in college football so many big plays after the catch not on this instance the defense did a great job reacting to the throw getting there in a hurry and making sure he didn't get any yards after that [Applause] catch grabbed behind the line it's mobe and the defense had that one well covered just a short game there well he comes up with the reception but not a lot of room to run after that yeah and I like the QB doing so I I'm going to find ways to give him the football and see if he can make a miss and I'm going to bet most of the time that my guy is a little bit more athletic than that defensive guy defense won this battle but I like trying to get this guy the ball in space finds his big tight end and he's not going to get there the defense stands tall and makes the stop you know the tight end's going to have to do a better job of separating and giving his quarterback a place to go with the football that time just couldn't create it and as a result as soon as he made the catch he was brought to the ground setting up fourth down and they'll have to settle for a field goal try kick is good the offense has three points to show for the drive score 2 after putting up the field goal they're set to kick it away set to kick this one away he'll bring it back looking for help and the returner goes down and the ruter offense heads back onto the field they'll have another opportunity to extend this lead after punting last time David and it's important to put that punt behind you it's it's over let it go get back to what you were doing that built this lead yeah and defense obviously they won a few Downs uh that last drive so we got to put them on their heels here maybe up a few Personnel groupings and try to show them some pictures they haven't seen yet after the three- yd pickup they come to the line Second and seven he leaves it with his back at the 35 he's got R they finally make the stop with the big run is plenty to move those sticks [Applause] down he lofs one down the sideline and this is dropped incomp complete great pass he had a huge gain in his fingers and he couldn't hold on well on defense they know that this offense is going to try and take shots they're going to try and keep their secondary players in a position to make these types of plays good job on the back end forcing that incompletion he'll try the left side and they pick up just one it'll be third and nine yeah and the running back didn't get much here but you know you clearly want to always establish the tempo run the football be consistent make that defense physically meet the challenge they've got a good chunk of ground to cover on Third and long from the 41 from the gun wants to pass right down the middle finds the big tight end boy did he look as if he was going to go gets it down to the 37 just beautiful and that's a great feeling as a quarterback when you make that throw it keeps your offense on the field keep the offensive Rhythm obviously not as good as throwing a touchdown pass but I'll tell you this way better than having to trot off over to the bench and wait for your turn to getting another shot all kinds of room to throw that one in there there to make the tackle but the big throw is good enough to give him a first down this offense is clicking everything working together really well coordinator quarterback offensive line good Rhythm good flow defense is going to have to find something to kind of mess up this timing they got going on and the Scarlet Knights will snap it on First and 10 used the play fake now to throw a strike downfield he stopped just short of the goal line at the one an explosive play has him set up this defense has got to be better in coverage you want to get off the field you got to keep defending you got to do something to make the offense feel uncomfortable so far way too easy easy for this offense the Scarlet Knights have it in scoring position on first and goal they'll try to get it in with the run you can't let the same guy beat you over and over and over again you got to make adjustments sometimes you got to bring more guys in the Box more guys to the football and make sure he's not the one who beats you can the D deny them on second and goal he'll run it to the right here and try to get it into the end zone he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple and with the stuff there Jesse on second down this little third to midrange you got two downs what are you thinking here maybe getting your quarterback out on the perimeter and giving him a run pass option see if you can get the defense in a bond cutting it close now with third and goal upcoming touchdown rers and they take it in for six more points [Applause] [Music] lining up to attack one more onto that [Applause] lead the kick is up and good and put one more on the lead they go 83 yds on the drive and they finish it up with a three yd scoring toss lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown Drive he'll bring it back from inside is five nice job executing all of the assignments as they put a stop to that return at the 22 the Purdue offense heads back out to the field Jesse they had to kick a field goal the last time they had it yeah often times early in games you're just trying to find your Rhythm some things work some don't on that first drive David be interesting to see what happens here on the second Drive yeah you got to feel for the defense now you understand what they're trying to do what their game plan is now you get to go into phase two of your game plan didn't get much on first down it's second and [Applause] nine they'll run it from the gun just what they were looking for to get this drive rolling there're out to the 35 all right well look I know the defense was feeling real good about their rund de coming into this one and how they've been playing up to this point but finally David the offense breaks through and they finally generate something positive on the ground and I can't tell you how easy it is when you're going to throw the ball consistently and I know it I'm going to pin my ears back and I'm going to get to the quarterback it makes life really easy on a defensive line but when you can have balance now the defense doesn't know what's coming they need more of this if they're going to be successful on offense it's going to be important this offensive line is able to get a little bit of push and just got to give this Sky an inch a little crease and he can make yards for it dropping back it's Carr he looks that one in nicely gets it to the 46 yd line first down for this offense and there's finally a bright spot for this offense in the passing game completing that on third down I know we're in the second quarter they're trailing by a lot but you need something positive to happen here to build some momentum maybe they can build on that drive the field score some points before going in here at halftime and get a little juju going he makes the grab they make the stop right there good pickup it's still short in the first down nice completion here to this wide receiver and you're going to see this receiver line up in different spots all over the field all game long defense has got to keep their eye on where this guy is because they know he's a big part of this offensive success the boiler makers want to crank the [Music] tempo he's looking for an open man on second down fires toward the end zone and and good coverage there to knock it away and deny the score and I know most offensive coaches they're going to be thrilled taking all these 50/50 shots against man coverage I don't know though if they want to keep testing that defensive back he has been unfied couldn't pick it up on second down now they need a couple on third down they want to just keep throwing it got it in the middle it's brown third they've got it inside the 30 they'll mark it at the 28 it's first down wow and what a great job by that quarterback finding his open receiver on third down you know guys one of the most telling stats at the end of the game is third down conversion percentage if you're a great third down team it's invaluable to your offensive success and that's why teams drill third down so much in practice quickly to the tight end a timeout is called as this offense tries to find a way to get more points on the board before the half I'll say this man in college football you see a lot of bad tackling you didn't see it right there that was an awesome job first off being there at the point of attack once the tight end made the catch there was no doubt he was going down great job touchdown Perdue reeled it in and just made the house call man nice job getting the passing game going this is big man going into the half and listen I know you're trailing but building some momentum maybe this second half we can keep airing the football out cutting into this deficit and who knows what the heck will happen winding up to add another KCK is on for the extra point and after the extra point they Trail 3517 they March 79 ydd on the drive and they finish things up with a dart from 24 yds out so they got the touchdown and as they kickoff really important for the defense to shut them down here and he's going to try to return this one nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the 16 ruers has it back they'll send the offense back onto the field throws to the wide out off the deflection missed a great chance to force the turnover instead it'll be second down well I know that one fell incomplete but what a day this guy has had thrown the football multiple touchdowns and he's done a really nice job with his decision making hasn't thrown any picks which has really helped keep this offense on schedule and here comes the offense on second down he's looking to throw got the Quick Pass didn't pick up a rot there moved it Forward just a few the offense will have to use its first timeout of the half I'll tell you for this defense they're going to have to find a way to bracket this slot receiver because of how athletic he is they're going to defense is about learning the plays third down what do they like to do how do they do it so far the offense having a little bit of success but the defense now you got to figure out what they're doing and the Scarlet Knights have it with a first and 10 quick timeout call by the offense after the play time out Ruckers and this set of downs get started from the 33 first and 10 he's looking to throw it catch in the middle it's Miller the offense waste no time getting the timeout call it's so nice as a quarterback when you've got a guy like that working for you in the slot he has such a good feel to find the Open Spaces in the defense just makes life so much easier for his quarterback quarterback wants to throw on second down gets it out quickly G room at the 35 he gets it to the 31 yd line a quick play for this [Applause] [Music] [Music] offense that's the end of the second quarter qu that means it's time to join Kevin in our halftime update all right guys looks like we've got a great scene there today in cascata away toughest job inside that Stadium right now might just be the scoreboard operator after all those first downs and touchdowns big plays have defined this one thanks to two of the best receiving core in all of college football let's see if these defenses can adjust and make the necessary chess moves and with that let's send it back to the guys inside the birthplace of college [Music] football got things teed up and just about ready to go here in the second half and he takes this from inside the five didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 the boiler makers have it back and here comes the offense off the play fake on first down wide open downfield that's the kind of play that can really get you going as they get it out to the 36 I tell you what that's great execution between the QB and receiver they looked like they could execute that throw in their sleep quarterback took his steps threw it on time great route by the receiver nice job securing the catch the boiler makers come to the line in the hurry up leaves it with the back and he's brought down after a nice game you're down obviously at the half you had a conversation we got to come out and put points on the board and Jesse it looks like they're going to start with the ground game and I love this David too regardless of whether they're losing or they're winning come out here and try to be the most physical unit here in the second half get this run game established they'll throw it on first down makes the grab over the middle and good coverage by the defense just a short game he's just winning that match up in the slot every time and when you put him in the slot Reese he's closer to the quarterback it's an easier throw we can run in we can run out and really take advantage of his versatility of the guy that slot position give to the back a run up the middle is stopped for No Gain you got to have that defense you know you can go team running situations your base defense when you say okay this is where I'm going to start and I'm going to stop the run stuff it up front my guys play Big up front and if I need to add some blitzes to it later on down the road I can a great job in the base defense making back to throw it's Carr coming after him took a shot as he threw and trying to put points on the board on third down now they're staring at fourth down he didn't have a whole lot of time to get rid of that one the defense was all over him right after the snap no wonder that thing fell in contr and the boiler makers will punt this one away he shanked it and they'll keep it away from The Return Man as the punt goes out of bounds and the ruers offense heads back onto the [Applause] field they'll throw it on first down fires downfield caught over the middle it's Monaga and how about that what the doctor always ordered an explosive play to the 40 well ree you and I were talking about this before the game how is this defense going to be able to deal with all the speed they have offensively you saw them just rip off a big play and Jesse now their head spining just a little bit give up a big chunk play and it's right back at him they'll put it in play from the 40 on First and 10 he's going to pass good job to avoid the negative play and just get rid of that thing second down after the incompletion it's second down takes a hand off it's Monaga really nice st stop there from this senior leader third now facing a third and long from the gun wants to pass unloads to the wide out just too much juice on that one as he air mails his receiver out of bounds on Third and short in field goal range they dial up the pass play quarterback was trying to get through his progressions there was just simply nobody open couldn't make an accurate enough throw ball Falls incomplete Now setting up a big decision here on fourth down they'll try to cap off this drive with a field [Applause] goal oh and he missed it no good and after the Miss fellas still sitting on an 18-point lead5 Purdue [Applause] [Music] 17 the Purdue offense heads back out to the field they hope to be able to cash in on this drive David after having to punt it last time yeah and I think this offense needs to start it with the first play you need to be successful and productive on that first play and it gets you in less predictable situation no doubt to don't you just feel like there's a little bit more sense of urgency on this drive it just feels like they've got to be able to put some points up on the board herei picked up two yards on that last one they need eight on second down [Applause] looking downfield it's Carr fires to the wide out working that left side he's right out of bounds but a big play on that one and it'll be a first down awesome body control and great job too knowing where he is on the field to make sure he got his feet down in Bounds at this point this guy's been open all over the field and if I'm the QB man I keep throwing him the ball they'll snap it from the 47 on first down using a quick game I like the decision by the quarterback here just get the ball out of your hands get it to your playmaker a lot of times he'll dance and make even bigger plays than he did here but it was still a positive [Music] game second down coming [Applause] up moving the running back forcing the defense to adjust throws to the wide out working the middle ripping off a good chunk inside the 25 and they're set up with a first down you know the defense doesn't have an answer for this slot guy right now they may want to think about bracketing him having a Defender play to the outside and to the inside probably some sort of Zone coverage where you're trying to get two bodies forcing the quarterback to have to go somewhere else with the ball fires to the right how about that play to get a hand in there and force the incompletion defense doing a great job watching the quarterback's eyes and breaking on the ball they already have two picks in the game and they SWAT that one away they are doing an awesome job in coverage after the misfire it's second down the give to the tail back going to be a gain of about three down to the 21 [Music] [Applause] [Music] and this offense is desperate to keep this drive alive trailing by multiple possessions and it's getting late wants to throw it's C looking left and it's picked off again his night vision hasn't been on par and defensive back you think don't have good hands big fell shows it how about that defensive back going up and getting the interception nice job breaking on the football you say that's why you play defense cuz you own [Music] hands ruter has it back they'll send the offense back onto the field you want to talk about taking the wind out of your sails Drive the ball down the field and miss the field goal David you know what don't leave it up to Kickers execute better offensively I think you move the ball nice you got to keep that in mind but Palmer I think you got to stay aggressive and don't settle for field goals yeah because you got to know there's just no margin for error right now you just have got to be able to execute at a higher level halfway there on first down it's second and five he's looking to throw quickly complete he's really close to that first down marker but they stop him just a bit short slant routes they're good against man coverage but they're good against Zone coverage too if that receiver can find the soft spot between the linebacker and the DB you'll take that throw all day so third and short from inside the 20 you convert here and this drive takes on a different complexion looking to throw for it got his man in the middle and they reacted well to the completion but it was too late to keep them from getting the first down really nice job there by the quarterback understanding that it's Zone coverage on third down you're going to have to find someone working into a soft spot get the ball out of your hands quickly make an accurate throw and pick up the first well done movement here from the tight end off play action on first down trying to get to it fires to the tight end and not much doing there as that defense runs him out of bounds a nice job by the defense there tackling the catch and smothering the tight end they know this offense is going to try to find him in the passing game game in a lot of different situations that time perfect coverage and nice job bringing the big guy down not easy to do off play action unloads it left and they can't make the connection the timing on that throw and on the route was just convoluted and messed up from the beginning and you see quarterbacks and wide receivers in the off season always working on timing and always working on throwing on air but when you put a defense in front of them now things start speed up a little bit a lot of times you'll see these little mistakes and where it looks like just they're not on the same page all the time unloads to the wide out got his man downfield they'll get him on the ground at the 46 and it'll be a first down big third down there for the quarterback and he knew where his best chance was at getting that first he found the Cur rout made an accurate throw as a result the offense stays on the field the Scarlet Knights are rolling down the field comes out throwing on first down makes his connection and a good job in coverage there as they stop it after just a few I love playing man-to-man defense and I love getting up in your kitchen and jamming you at the line of scrimmage but it's really hard when they start running these Crossing routes and drags and ends because now I'm in Chase mode and the QB has a little bit of space A lot of times and those fast guys can create some separation and get a first down like they did there quarterback on the keeper just a solid stop by this sophomore well the QB decided to keep it on that one and listen if you had his athleticism you'd want to keep it too almost every time they run these types of option plays but he's just going to have to do a good job of understanding when to hand it off when to pitch it and try to keep this defense on their heels and read his keys he's got a lot of talent just got to make sure he's making the right decisions moving forward caught they've got it in inside the 40 at the 39 as they pick up the first down everybody on the same page there on Blitz pickup right offensive line everybody communicating understanding where they have to work to give their QB time to make an accurate throw and pick up the first and the Scarlet Knights getting set on First and 10 looking to move it through the air that friends is a busted play incomplete not just a Miss by the quarterback that's a simple slant route that Ball's got to be thrown out in front or put in the face mask of the receiver bad throw by the QB defense has to be frustrated the offense keeps metrica and matriculating and matriculating the ball down the field they go to the ground they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one well this guy's been eating them alive all game long finally though David you wonder if the defense has been able to make some adjustments and find something positive to help slow this guy down baby steps right that's a tackle for a loss I know he's got over a hundo on the game but this defense is definitely going to have to be more aggressive commit more guys to stopping that bad man on Third and long tried to convert through the air and finally the defense is able to get some pressure on this quarterback they had been trying all game long different ways to affect him weren't able to get there but on that play because of the pressure it affected his accuracy and that's why the ball Falls incomplete the Scarlet Knights will call on on their punt [Applause] team able to keep them from getting a return and the ball goes out of bounds they're going to mark it right around the 20 the boil makers have it back and here comes the offense from the shotgun they'll run it he is going nowhere stop at the line of scrimmage well they want to come out and try to get the Run game established but up front defensively they made a play they gave up nothing on that one got to find some some breathing room if you're going to establish yourself on the ground and there wasn't any that time yeah ree I wonder now if this offense is maybe going to try to get to the perimeter of the field and see if they can use their speed to hurt this defense makes a man miss they'll knock him down after a 6yd gain to the 27 and a nice job by the running back finding space getting downhill making a good run great job fishing of his [Music] pass and this offense just has find a way to convert this third down or else third down but now dealing with fourth down third and short like that on your own side of the field you're just looking for a quick hitter you're trying to get the ball out of your hand quickly but the timing completely off there for the offense and the ball Falls incomplete the boiler makers will bring the punt team onto the field let's see if he can help the coverage team out with this one oh he got home and blocked the punt he's taking it the other way he's brought down but there's also a penalty marker down let's see what this is about personal foul ring the kicker defense so the decision has been made and the coach will take the penalty so the offense keep this drive alive thanks to the roughing the punter penalty and it's his fourth interception of the game not a lot on the return and they can live with that as they've got it at the 49 most defenses are lucky if you have one good covering Corner fewer are lucky if you have two they've got three DBS three corners that can play at the same time in their nickel package that they feel can go mono imano with anyone in the country you saw it on that last play coming away with the on first down here comes this [Music] offense wide receiver coming across in motion looking for a crease it's Monaga this offensive line better figure out a plan for this def tackle he is tough to block with one guy you might want to start double teaming him he's going to be a problem moving forward you saw all of his ability on that last [Applause] play didn't get much on first down it's second and nine the give on the inside they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one when a running back has had as much success as this guy's had had so far listen defense has got to queue in they got to queue in to him he's priority number one number two and number three that's a good start to maybe turning this defensive effort around a third and long coming up here from the gun once to pass under heat and he gets rid of it just tried to ease it out there and it falls incomplete and this is why you don't want to get in these situations third and long defense knows its pass they're playing P playing deep QB has nowhere to go with the football so he just throws it away and the Scarlet Knights will punt it away on fourth down he'll try to really get into this one and that is how a punter helps out his defense pinning them deep in their own territory the Purdue offense heads back out to the field they'll give it to the back knocked down after a pick up of three to the 12 small game I know but again the defense knows he's going to run the football he's willing to run the football not just drop back and pass make him on to the Run game you got to do a lot of this got three on first down it's second and seven motion from the offense quick pass on the jet motion slam to the ground but not before he gets the first down and just went with something very easy very reliable Flip It Forward let your receiver do the rest I only got to get a few yards nice job nice execution first down ball spotted at the 21 it's first down used the play fake now to throw fires to the wide out and he was firing for the left side but couldn't make the connection now second down [Music] they'll line up for a second down play looking to throw it's C and he got smacked just as he released the pass it's incomplete it's hard throwing in the pocket man you got bodies 300 lb dudes falling all over the place they're trying to Hitch you that time the pressure got to them and they forced the incompletion third down conversions are a huge stat and this one would be a doozy if they can pull it off he'll just keep slinging it catch in the middle it's mobe building momentum picking up a chunk of yardage moving the chains out to the 34 great job by the running back here on that third down catch there was no wasted movement as soon as he got the ball in his hands he turned around and he got up field that's what you got to do you got to be decisive on these third down type plays to move the STS the boiler makers are marching down the field wants to throw on first down they're working that left side and gang tackling on this dude is a good idea they needed it but he still got the first down and there was no question in that scenario that's where the quarterback was going he knew he had his receiver in a matchup that he liked running a route where he would find himself opening nice job between those two they'll run it out of the shotgun it's just so nice to know you can start off on first down with positive plays positive yards hand the football off set up a good second [Music] down after the three- yd pickup they come to the line Second and seven he's looking to throw fires one high and deep and he's got it inside the 15 yd line and he ran away from the crowd and he'll take it in Dodge down boiler maker yeah and that's simple but it's not easy it's a go route like that receiver streaking straight down the outside of the field and my job as a quarterback is to put that ball up in the air keep it away from the safety he does just that receiver comes down with a catch nice pitch nice catch touchdown [Music] on to attempt the try on for the extra point and with the extra point they now Trail 3524 score 354 almost ready to kick it away away after scoring the touchdown on the run from inside his own five didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 and the ruers offense heads back onto the field after giving up that last touchdown they still got the lead but now feeling a little bit of pressure to answer with one of their own David and it gets a little bit tight listen we're getting later in the ball game this offense punted last time they got to find a few plays Palmer that they really love here steal some momentum back in this ball game they do David and after watching their defense just get gash down the field that last Drive the dream drive for this offense would be to matriculate the ball down the field eat up some clock and finish it off with a touchdown he tosses one high and deep down the left side oh he's playing with fire and he's picked off and they'll drag him down after a good return on the interception you know the best free safeties I ever played against were the ones that just have a six sense it's like they know where the ball is going and they can just bait the quarterback into trying to make throws that they never have a chance of making that's what that guy did right there he baited the QB into a bad decision and made him [Applause] pay the boiler makers have it back and here comes the offense there's certainly still a hill to climb they've got to make sure these driv pay off got a touchdown last time can they back it up here well and it's amazing in a football game how sometimes they'll surprise you with what you do once you get settled and you realize what's going on now I'm comfortable with it Jesse this offense looked comfortable in it's last Drive they sure did it looked like they started to find some momentum so now it's on this defense to stop that all right you're a little bit upset based on what just happened the previous drive you've got to Bow up again and go back to what was working earlier in this game looking for a man it's Carr not quite in Rhythm there [Music] incomplete and this offense can ill afford to come up empty on this drive already trailing by multiple possessions from the gun on third down unleashes one another incompletion on third down yeah and third and short that choose not to run throw the football and I think a lot of that has to do with they know they're in field goal range they can take the three points on the board and here comes the field goal unit for the second time tonight he's going to try to punch one through from 45 yds away never a doubt you've got to make the opponent pay for turning the football over and while this team would have liked to have scored a touchdown off that pick I think they're pretty happy [Applause] [Applause] getting so after putting three on the board the kickoff team team is out there ready to boot it away and he hauls it in and everybody's on the edge of their seats didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 they'll get this drive going from the 17 out of the gun the inside handoff looking for a crease they knock him down but not before he gets it out to the 21 yd line pick up a four and talk about spreading the ball around everyone getting a chance to show off the hands based on the number of targets we've seen one quarter to go and might we have the makings of a classic fourth quarter [Music] finish they feed him again defense there to stop him after a gain of one to the 22 tack at the 22 yd line Rings up third [Applause] down how bold will they be on third down after that last run they go to the draw nice move to keep moving and boy is he close to that first down maybe just a couple of inches short faing [Applause] the Scarlet Knights decide to pun it away and may have to pay him overtime he's punting for the fifth time today he'll get away another punt he's been really active today and no doubt he's going to earn his varsity lad he'll put a stop to that return as he gets it up to the 41 yd line the Fue offense heads back out to the field guys that last trip a little disappointing having to take the three yeah I think Jesse you see so many offenses talk about getting yards and the tempo and all the stuff they do was a nice job moving the football but they got to get the end zone this yeah and I think to do that they just got to be more physical at the point of attack get some push up front they need to be the best running team in this game to win this offense has a second down play looking for a man it's car and he can't escape and down he goes this Mike backer showing some versatility think he always just has to stay home and play The Run was bringing the pass rush that time this ain't old school football anymore ree these guys got to be so athletic and you see them Blitz and RN games and all the different things they can do aside from making the calls and being the communicator on defense these guys are as versatile as it gets this is a third and [Music] long looking downfield and he needs a bunch got his man to the left and there was lots of space as he gets it to the 39 yd line I don't blame them they're going to keep working this guy out of the slot until somebody finds a way to stop him yeah and why wouldn't you man you you find a matchup that's working and you got a guy with this kind of athletic ability in the slot dude keep finding him keep using different routes so far the defense doesn't have an answer for him from the gun running back on the Move that's what you expect from a senior don't give them any extra yards great tackle there you know it's so important for offenses to want to keep third Downs manageable the way you do that is by having success like that running the football on first down got three on first down it's second and [Applause] seven pulls it and fires to the left gives him a little shake and he's got some room he will step out of bounds but not before the big pick up and a first down for this offense and a big key on that throw out of the gun the inside hand off to the running back he stopped just a chain link or two away from the first down and sets them up beautifully here and that would be the definition of first down success putting yourself in a good position it's second and inches I can do whatever I want next I can take a shot down the field I can run the football and get a new set of downs like nice first down execution it could have gone for more and the offense knows the task ahead they're down eight it's first and goal they need a touchdown and the two trying to barge their way in and he takes it to the house touchdown berue number well well well somebody's been doing their box jumps you ain't lying getting up in the air Hey listen I'm taking a picture of that saving it that might be my screen saver on my phone that vertical way up in the air after the score they need this two-point conversion to tie slams ahead he's not going to make it in as this defense comes up with the stop on the two-point conversion to hold on to their lead5 33 about to kick it away after scoring the touchdown and he's going to bring it out of the end zone and they'll bring him down to get the offense started on the next Drive Line gets set first down the give from the gun good vision and determination there to find his way up to the 23 they've got a lead here in the fourth quarter and there's certainly still plenty of football to go but this is where you'd love to control the flow of the game right you want to dictate everything to the defense and you do that by running the football that was a really nice run this offensive line is firing off late looks like they're getting stronger as the game goes on and that is a good sign for the offense into a mass of giant bodies we'll call it a one yd gain to the 24 third down coming [Applause] up and after that last run we'll see if they keep it on the ground on third [Applause] they'll try to pick up the first through the air grabbed in the middle it's Miller such a big part to convert these third downs and they got it at the 42 he has been the go-to guy on offense all game long and on a critical third down here in the fourth quarter surprise surprise guess who they go to that guy maybe this will breathe a little life into this offense which has been flatlined in the second half here's first and 10 he wants to throw finds his tight end and a good job of coverage by that defense just a short pick up I think that time offensively you're just trying to take what the defense is giving you right they're playing Zone coverage you got your big fella just working right over the ball it's an easy pitch and catch just take the profit and let's keep going now here on second down see if they keep tossing it around he's looking to throw and he'll Chuck it into the cheap seats there and save the down nobody getting open there even if they don't convert picking up a few would give them a decision to make on fourth down is third and long from the 45 they're and the ball comes out what a disastrous play defense swarming on that loose ball it'll be a turnover and that was the biggest play of the game they've got the lead offensively they're trying to run this thing out he coughs it up the defense jumps on it and all of a sudden this game has a different [Applause] feel the boiler makers have it back and here comes the offense they're going to open this drive with a pass finds his big tight end they make the stop after the catch and still some work to do to pick up that first down I'll tell you I love the play call on first down here you're just trying to find an easy completion and the shortest throw on the field the quarterback is finding your biggest Target and that's the tight end nice job got some of the work done on first now let's see what they have on second down pulls and throws off the RPO got some room headed to the goal line touchdown boiler maker and they've moved out front here in the fourth yeah and a nice job in the fourth quarter making plays and a nice job being on the same page QB receiver you could tell he broke with the football he caught it in stride gets into the end zone nice pitch and catch right there nice Chemistry by the QB and wide receiver [Applause] ready to try the point after extra point and the extra point is good and the lead is five here in the fourth this offense Prim itself on going after you and they did with that long touchdown pass to finish off a two-play drive kickoff team lining up to send this one away he'll start the return inside his SP just never had a chance to shake loose and he'll be brought down at the 24 ruter has it back they'll send the offense back onto the field going to run it it's Monaga into a mass of giant bodies we'll call it a one yd gain to the [Applause] 24 didn't get much on first down it's second and nine he's looking to throw excellent coverage and good use of the hands to knock it away love the competitive nature by the defender on that play that's just a 50/50 ball and that Defender swatted it away they couldn't connect on second down now staring at a third and [Applause] nine from the gun wants to pass makes the catch it's Miller gets it to the 42 yd line and that's a first down this dude is putting in work out of the slide and he is just wearing out this defense man you see it re in football they just these slot guys are so quick so athletic you back them up off the football so you can't get hands on them and you just find ways to continue to get him the football he's making plays so I'm going to continue to throw it his way nice move to pick up yardage a strong tackle and wrap up from the Junior and the defense is doing a great job committing into the run when you commit to the run like this obviously you can give up some plays in the passing game but you got to stop the run first after picking up a couple it's second and eight to the ground with the back and they try the middle of this Stout defense and they rise to the challenge great team defense on that run play everybody doing their job people winning their one-on ons D lineman staying in their gaps linebackers and DB's feeling you just can't do it better a chance to sort of put the defense on its heels if you convert a third and long this one from the 44 from the gun wants to pass and they fail to hook up on third down after that incompletion fourth and long now on your own side of the field you're trailing in the fourth quarter what's your go-to play call here in the passing game where is the matchup that you trust in to come up with a big one to give yourself a chance to stay alive and win and the Scarlet Knights will send out the punt unit they're up to a half dozen kicks today make sure he doesn't get backed up any further signals for and makes the fair catch at the 10 the Purdue offense heads back out to the field and they've got a little bit of a cushion here David if they can add to it on this drive it would be nice and it definitely makes a little bit of a difference know when I'm up by more than a field goal obviously Jesse my mindset switches and I know I can't make mistakes yeah and David I don't think they have to reinvent the wheel on offense here what they've been calling has been working just get back to doing what you're good at after the three- yd pickup they come to the line Second and seven on the ground it's mobe he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple really nice job by the defense getting that last stop all third downs and games are important but this one just feels like it's the biggest down of this game right now for this defense thinking get off the field they've got to give it back to their offense with as much time as possible to have a chance to win this game if they can convert here that type of play can really give you a shot of momentum third and long and he'll try to throw for it quarterback doing what he does best he can move across the 25 he's got room and he scoots his way to the first down and then slides to avoid the hit nice job by the QB sitting back in the pocket you can tell he wants to throw the football go through his progressions nothing home take off and slide I love the slide at the end don't take a big shot and the boiler makers want to move quickly scanning the field it's car feeling some heat buys a little extra time he'll try to do it himself welcome to the frustrating reality of college football like the guy at the quarterback spot you can just do that pull it down get positive yards makes the defense have to account for him every single play and now on second down for this offense just when they're looking run now up top and the pass is incomplete Jarred Loose by the hit [Applause] [Music] from the gun wants to pass the short hands it's Smith good solid pick up on that one they've got it out to the 40 and it's first down boy the defense really needed to get off the field there and they just couldn't do it and it's a fresh set of downs man that hurts when you're trailing late in the ball game you need those stops and you get him to third down you get him to those critical points now they get the first down you don't have many left you better get aggressive and that incomplete pass has caused by the big hit on first down second down coming well it was a good throw it was a good route but it was the hit that forc that incompletion here comes the offense on second down using his legs it's mobe just a one yd gain leaves him with third and nine and with a lead like that they have here in the fourth quarter no question this offense is going to continue trying to Pound The Rock they're going to run the football and try to ice this game they'll come to the line at the 42 facing a third and long to the air it's Carr and a missed opportunity on third down as the defense knocks it free and fourth down is coming up and that is a frustrating possession for this offense you wanted to run the football maybe take some time you did the opposite got in a bad situation threw the football stopped the grab what a nice connection knocked down immediately and they've got it at the 25 the boiler makers will line it up on First and 10 from the gun the ground game game a seven yd pickup it'll be second and three defense uses a timeout quickly trying to get that ball back and preserve time for their offense now on second down and we'll probably see another run and that might do it if they can get a first [Applause] down the give to the back he breaks a tackle quick timeout called by the defense stopping the clock to save as much time as possible for their offense that's got to be demoralizing if you're the defense you're trailing you need to get the ball back you got to get off the field but you can't stop the run when they're going between the tackles this defense is going to have to get a lot more physical especially in the middle he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three timeout called there by the defense desperate to get the ball back and save as much time as possible got some work to do on second down after that last one they need 13 leaves it with the running back tackled there by the defense and I know it's not a first down uh but I still like the way they they ran the football just try to make the next third down manageable try to get it where it's not as predictable I think the offense did a really good job being smart there taking what the defense gave boy they'd love to move the sticks here and take a shot at it on first and [Applause] goal they'll try to power their way ahead gets it in inside the five down to the four and it'll be first and goal and and I don't care if I get it by two by 20 by 30 by 40 I I just I just want to get the first down understanding the situation understanding where the sticks are doesn't have to be
