e e e hello everyone and welcome we are surrounded by pageantry and tradition and it's clear to see the college kickoff team out there set to boot it away here he comes from inside his own five and they'll bring him down to get the offense started on the next drive so Kansas state will have some work to do after that short return and as this star running back comes onto the field everybody in the stadium knows he's going to get it the defense knows it doing something about it is quite a different thing it's hard to stop him he's hard to handle because he can do it in so many ways he can run by you he can run through you he really has the whole package and that's why he's a superstar and that's why they'll feed him early and often Johnson looking to throw fires to the wide out and it's intercepted a turnover for the defense and he's into the end zone for a touchdown I mean you talk about coming out of the defense and setting the tone and letting know it's going to be long game let's do this how about a pick six on the first possession nice job by the defense coming out striking first in this ball [Music] game they'll try to add another to their lead and with the extra point they get the first seven of the game they'll kick it off and send that defense right back out there to try to score again after the pick six and they the NCAA college football season 5 2024 week 2 games go how these guys play if they make plays they've got a shot to win this one no doubt they got to show up the these are the team leaders these guys have to play well if they're going to win the second down third down coming do they do it again and I think everybody holds their breath when that QB is back to throw and he's right near the goal line you never know if it's truly a safety but he University Dukes one and zero and the return man has no place to run no place to hide and a place to be tackle K state has the ball back and the power cat offense returns to the field they run the for a ranked team going into a hostile environment like this one not to give the underdog reason to believe yes reason to believe and don't give the fans reason to get jacked up and he can't escape team some space on the Move looking for a little sliver of hope they'll get him down at the 21 yd line the coverage team able to stop him right there the give to the left they bring him down and he's offense comes up on second down looking for a gap it's week two Baylor Bears one H and zero at Arkansas Razer backs one H and zero 45 yd line yeah defensively you better be ready to run east and west when you're playing against this offense in their running game that time the offense was able to outflank the defense to the right side for a big play they're going to ride this running back and a good solid pick up before the defense Cuts him down got six on first down now a lot of options on second and four he's looking to throw gets it out fast and the defense makes the immediate tackle but he has enough for the first down he to throw grabbed in the middle it's Jackson and the catch was one thing and the Run even better a big pick up on that one Kansas state has it with another first and 10 power football with the run after the pick up of nine it's second and one going to work in the Red Zone they can pick up the first down without getting it into the end zone Johnson wants to throw it that completion will take it inside the four and the week two UMass Minute Men Oney zero at Georgetown ho one hyen zero they'll try to get it in with the run and he takes it in for the score up of eight now to convert this third and two trying to pick up a first down third they'll try to pick it up on the ground and he's brought down at the 40 yd line and that'll be a first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs oh it's a reverse that play just never had a chance a knock him down for a loss of five he'll try to overcome that last play on second and 15 the give to the tailb good pick up on the ground and they'll Mark him down at the 39 third down conversions are a huge stat and this one would be a doozy if they can pull it off gets it out quickly and he's not going to make it the defense denying him the first down fourth down and the punt team sends it the other way and the ball will bounce at the four and find its way into the end zone for a Touchback and here comes the Kansas State offense back onto the field off the play fake on first down to throw and this will be incomplete a big hit there forces second down couldn't make the connection last time let's see if they throw it again trying play action trying to burn this defensive back and it goes through his hands oh he had an explosive play right there for the taking but couldn't reel it in off the bootleg looking to fire steps to his left out of the pocket and the defense makes a play sacking him back at the 10 good disciplined defense on that play it's third and long right you're not going to B on a play fake nobody's going for that everyone knows it's a passing situation they use their speed to get to the [Applause] QB week 22 Tennessee Volunteers one- zero at BYU couger one- zero so from his own in zone the punt is away a fair catch is called for a made just across the 50 yd line offense making its way under the field to start the drive from the gun the running back tries to hit the hole and how about the work up front by that big defensive line got stuffed on first down it's second and 10 he's looking to throw gets it to the back week two Old Miss Rebels one and zero at LSU Tigers one zero trying to pick up a first first down thir it'll be a draw Powers through the defender he gets the job done on third down they move the chains it's at the 37 they're getting this guy lathered up they worked that running game down to the 34 let's give him three on the carry after the three- yd pickup they come to the line Second and seven they'll go to the ground relying on on that running game and it works for about three yds to the 31 offense breaks the Huddle it's third down running back goes in motion snagged in the middle it's Matthews wrestled to the ground after picking up the first down as they get set to snap it time winding down here in the quarter he'll keep it himself smashes through and they drag him down but not before he picks up the first down the a OPP in the how about these two running games so far dominance on the ground as we look at the first quarter steps we've got a good one going here and looking forward to keep those vibes rolling here in the second out of the gun looking to throw fires into traffic it's picked off and they'll drag him down after a good return on the interception and the senior just snatched the ball out of the air and gave it back to his offense QBs have to understand when I'm throwing against zones I got to manipulate guys with my eyes I might have to look one direction to create an opening to throw that ball or zip that ball in I got to use Touch it's really hard when all eyes are on me and you could tell the quarterback was not ready and did not make a good throw K state has the ball back and the power cat offense returns to the field boy three and out last time David they'd like to be more productive this time around yeah in the last Drive nothing really clicked no rhythm got off the field really really quickly they need to put something together here yeah David bad execution on that last drive so they got to take a collective breath and start playing like a unit on this and the first guy couldn't get him but the second one does but not until he picks up the first down coming out on first down with the play fake moving out of the pocket oh he left him grabbing he's finally stopped but a big play there with his feet as he moves those sticks Kansas State back at it after picking up the first down out of the shotgun they go to the ground shakes off the defender he's run out of bounds but a big play on that one and it'll be a first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs they'll ride the hot hand and he goes out of bounds after coming up with positive yardage there nyd pickup on first down and now they can take a shot on second and short it's reverse he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple they're facing a third down third a quick completion to the left looking for the first down he's run out of bounds but not before turning in a big pick up and moving the sticks for a first down one back in the back field he gets the carry Solid pick up a four on first down in second and six run in the Red Zone it's gens [Applause] just trying to power it ahead they pick up five ball spotted at the 12 really need to pick up this conversion and avoid having to settle for the field goal he's looking to throw on Third and short got it into the end zone touchdown wilds and the offense punches it in again and we called his name again that's two touchdowns now in two games with still more to be played I tell you what I think this guy's name will be called a lot more throughout the season he's that kind of good ready to try the point after and the pat gives him a 147 lead we check in with Kevin Connors what's going on Kevin boys if it's happening in college football we've got eyes on it check this out LSU has the lead right now but it hasn't come easy they're in a tight one they're up by a field goal over the pandas just another week of college football where we've come to expect the unexpected Ellis and how about that one Kevin will be keeping an eye on everything going on elsewhere last run didn't get much balls at their own 26 here's second and nine quick strike and he was just a couple of steps away from taking that one even further after the catch the pull and throw off the RPO they make the stop right there good pickup it's still short of the first down got his man quickly a quick tackle made but he's got plenty for the first down here's this offense with a fresh set of down they're going to throw it again and they got him for the sack defensive linemen live to get after the quarterback to get sacks to get by those big hog moles up front on the offensive line and say you taste dirt the first down sack pushes the ball back for this long second down he's looking to throw caught in the back field it's weeks he's there to make the Stop and they threw it in reverse losing yardage on that play on Third and long hoping to throw beyond the sticks he holds it in and nobody's close and he's in for the score touchdown and that's three touchdowns in two games just continuing to find the end zone to make plays this guy is on Pace for a great season he's putting the college football World on [Music] notes the at unit on the field and it's up and good an 84 yd drive there and the score coming on the touchdown pass from 55 yds out set Kick looking for an alley from inside his own 10 he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic but they get him on the ground at the 20 and here comes the Kansas State offense back onto the field the way this game started you feel as if you have to score a touchdown every time you have it and now we'll see if they can respond yeah and I wonder how much pressure that puts on the offense Jesse like you know this is back and forth I gotta score and every possession matters so much what does that do to you as a quarterback well it puts a lot more pressure on you for sure to feel like I got to make every third down throw if guys are open vertically down the field I got to hit them too we can't let our serve get broken takes a hand off it's gens you'll take this every time five yards on the first down play and on second down for this offense running back searching for a Midfield he's got room finally run out of bounds but he has his offense rolling with a first down the Wildcats headed quickly to the line well there's the offense trying to take advantage of this running back speed I like the call hand off to the left to the outside put him in space and let him go to work he's got the tight end he will step out of bounds but not before the big pick up and a first down for this offense [Applause] it's a reverse he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three got some work to do on second down after that last one they need 13 Johnson looking to throw just a short pass to the tight end they bring him down but a solid pick up to put them in position to pick up a first [Applause] down trying to move the sticks on third down through the air get it out on the screen fights off a Defender he's run out of bounds but he's got enough to move the sticks and the Wildcats have it with a first and 10 they're in the red zone and they'll pass it using the quick game and an absolutely Fearless tackle giving up size still got him on the turn up grabbed in Back Field it's Davis he almost picked up the first down on that one but he'll be just a little bit short really need to pick up this conversion and avoid having to settle for the field goal and they're able to get a third down stop here see if they go for it on Fourth no movement from the field goal unit the offense is out there to try to keep this drive alive on fourth down the incomplete pass ends a frustrating series and they turn it over on down three tight ends in the formation on First and 10 on the move at the 20 he's got space tackled at the 25 but they get out of jail with a 15yd pickup they've got it first and 10 from the 25 and that's first they'll give it to him again and he broke one tackle on the way to a solid pick up there they can really be aggressive after that last last play it's second and three gets it out fast turns it on in Midfield he's right out of bounds but a big play on that one and it'll be a first down QB excellent location on that throw out route against man coverage you cannot miss if you throw that behind that might be a pick six so nice job by the quarterback with his accuracy got his man on the right slicing and dicing through this defense and they've got it down to the 23 and that's why for the offensive coordinator you've got to find as many ways as possible to get this guy going just get him the ball close to the line of scrimmage doesn't need to be a throw deep down the field he's so Dynamic when he has the ball in his hands you saw it right [Applause] there snap's going to come from the 23 on First and 10 he's going to pass throws to the wide out got a man in the middle they make the tackle but he's got a fresh set of downs and it's firsts and goal from the seven the offense threatening post to the end zone now with a new set of downs and it's caught for the touchdown yeah and it's a nice toss in the back of the end zone give your receiver a chance to make a play and you could tell he knew exactly where he was got those tippy toes right down inbounds for the touchdown [Music] reception ling up to tack one more onto that lead and the extra point is true and they're on top by seven so that Drive took only six plays and they close the deal with the seven yder for the score he'll start the return inside is five not a lot of space to be found good Hustle by the coverage team and they stop him at the 21 K state has the ball back and the power cat offense returns to the field he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple after getting knocked back to open this drive it's second and 12 Johnson wants to throw it and he'll Chuck that one away and save the down nobody was able to get open you make up the game plan and not a lot on the play sheet for this third and long from inside their own 20 makes his connection they're able to get him stopped just shy of the first down Mark K State sends the putt team onto the field ready to boot it away he's getting a lot of work fourth time he's punted tonight fair catch call for and made first down here with time for maybe one more play until the two-minute warning motion from the offense to give to the lone running back he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple we've reached the two-minute warning and we'll see if the offense can build on this lead before the break throwing rights it in passing defense they say no thanks to that pass interference penalty and they'll take the results of the play he'll come out throwing on first down he's got his man stopped just across the 50 at the 49 yd line it's a pick up of 10 and a first down looking to move it through the air got it in the middle it's Allen makes the easy catch and weaves his way into the end zone for a touchdown one thing this team has shown early this year it does not take them long to find their footing they get off to fast starts that was critical for them winning their first game and you've seen it here in this one too they show up ready to go there's no sleepwalking I think you got to give this coaching staff a ton of credit to put their players in good positions to have success on to attempt the try is on forra point and with the extra point they push the lead out a little further let's go to the studio now and check in with Kevin Connor Kevin what do you got week in and week out guys you never know what's going to happen in college football check this out Alabama is currently ahead early in this one and he's knocked down immediately but not before he moves the chains and the Wildcats will snap it on First and 10 he's looking to throw it going deep and it falls incomplete and the offense is lucky to have it Defender right there almost haded in his grass right back up top on second and 10 this time he's got his man got a timeout here late in the first half and they'll try to get more points on the board before the break they've been able to control the ball this is a seventh play of the drive it's third and three unloads to the right and this is going to be incomplete on third down it's fourth down and they'll try the field goal and this field goal attempt will be a 48 Y and not straight on from the left side knocked it right through showing that big range from 48 yds out [Applause] so they get the field goal now about to kick it away and you get a stop here and you go to halftime feeling really really good about things he'll bring it out it's Clayborn he's brought down at the 16 would have been much better off to take the Touchback a first down for the offense they'll crank up this drive with the pass it's complete on the right side the offense will stop the clock and use one of its timeouts picked up some yardage with that completion now second down [Applause] he's looking to throw the quick out really confident throw and catch there big pick up and they have a first down timeout called by the offense and now they just have one remaining in the half to the air on first down nice defensive play to get a hand in there and knock it away after the quarterback and receiver failed to hook up they'll try it again on second down got his man and he'll ramble to the 34 before he's finally knocked down his offense lines up feeling awfully good after that big play tip ball put it up for grabs and I thought he had it but somehow it slithered through his fingers running out of time here in the first half they're going to have to be efficient to put some points on the board before the break and the ball is intercepted and they come up with a big way to make sure no more points go on the board before the end of the half and this is obviously not a great start for this quarterback here two interceptions already in this game he's got to do a much better job with his decision [Applause] making and the offense will play it safe take a knee and head to halftime that's the end of the second quarter that means it's time to join Kevin in our halftime update guys a first half that saw a little bit of everything there in East Hartford each of these two offenses has looked like well oiled machines but it doesn't take a genius to figure out these two passing attacks have run circles around these defenses man or Zone nothing seems to be working and I'm not sure that defensive coordinator is going to be able to figure things out here at half time and with that let's send it back to the guys at wrencher [Music] field Kansas state will kick off as we get things started here in the third quarter on the run from inside his zone five he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 the offense set for a first down play they'll open the second half on the ground he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three not what they had in mind to start this drive here comes second and 13 he's looking to throw receiver looks at in it's complete he's close to the first down but they're going to Mark him just a little short facing a third down and short from the 26 they'll try to get the first through the air quickly complete nice job to get it past the sticks and they get him down at the 35 after that completion move the chains now first down makes the grab on the left a seven yd pickup it'll be second and three kept it on the ground on first down now back to the line BRS up second down leaves it with the back and he's knocked down but not before moving the chain they'll line up right at the 48 yd line on First and 10 wide receiver shows motion might as well give it to him again he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple now on second down gets it out out quickly he's brought down solid pick up but a little bit short of the first down this has the makings of a good drive the seventh play brings up a third and four from the gun wants to pass can't make the connection on third down thanks to that tough hard noos pass defense and now it's Fourth Down the punt goes out of bounds and a nice job to get them backed up I think they'll spot it right around the 15 and here comes the Kansas State offense back onto the field quick strike complete knocked down immediately but a nice pick up on that one Kansas State quick to the [Applause] line Johnson wants to throw it complete to the right he'll get it up to about the 32 yd line before he stopped and it'll be first down now they're running the curl route against Zone coverage the quarterback knows that's going to be a tight window he's got to rifle that ball into his wide receiver he does just that and as a result they pick up the first down he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three last play was a near disaster now dealing with second and 13 he's looking to throw got his man quickly they make the stop but not before he takes a chunk out of what they need to move move the sticks they're about to wear this punter out he's already been out four times staring at a fifth if they can't move the chains he makes a catch and they reacted well to the completion but it was too late to keep them from getting the first down they just keep throwing him the ball this time on the slant no doubt and and you've seen it with the slant you've seen other routes every route he's running he's good he seems to be open and they get the sack right out of the gate this defense they are tenacious and they've got guys up front that are athletic and that are so strong that could collapse the pocket you saw it right there in that play action attempt big first down sack for the defense brings up second down he's looking to throw fires to the wide out is just a sideline credit throw catch tow drag everything you want third on third down going up top he's taking the shot and he makes the catch inside the 20 he's there to make the stop but not before he sets up this offense first and goal from the seven man this offense is so dangerous re they've got dudes all over the field that can make plays there's a big gainer in the pass game you get a chunk of yards like that now the defense is really on its heels now the chance to pay off that big play from just outside the five Johnson looking to throw he got it and he won't be able to get in as the defense gets him down at the one second and goal coming up back to the air one more time pulls it in in the end zone touchdown Kansas State Kansas State and it's not an accident they're featuring this guy his second receiving touchdown of the game that's your job as a coach find my Playmakers get him the ball so they can do damage and have games like this right [Music] here they'll try to get the two point conversion here and make it a three-point game the snap sets up to throw still looking on the Move he's in there for the two-point conversion and now they're within a field goal about to kick it off after punching it in for the touchdown on the move from inside his five nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop stop him at the 16 a lot of work to do as this drive will start from the 16 yd line from the shotgun they'll run it what a Nifty run there to pick up the first down here's this offense with the fresh set of down the RPO it's complete and the defense had that one well covered just a short game there five wide receiver formation on second and nine he's looking to throw caught in the back field it's Allen and good coverage by the defense just a short game now on third down for this offense from the gun wants to pass back open in the middle they make the stop but the sweet throwing catches plenty to give him a first down he wants to throw fires to the big fella and the defense settled in to stop that one for a short gain and the short completion brings up second down he's looking to throw unloads to the wide out a strike downfield boy did he look as if he was going to go gets it down to the 37 this offense absolutely humming as they come to the line again makes the catch it's Allen this back right now is in a Groove and he's doing a nice job in pre-nap he's reading the coverage and he's getting an idea of where he wants to go with the football that's why the ball's coming out of his hands so quickly that's why he seems like he's in a great Rhythm right and what moves this guy has the Jukes The Wiggles the squirts just went right past him and picked up the first down they're going to go right back to him on first down he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple after that last lost it's second and 12 he's looking to throw grabbed behind the line it's Matthews got some room headed to the goal line he's got it and just s into the end zone for the touchdown well they started with horrible field position but ended with perfect field position in the middle of the End Zone it all comes down to execution Le you've got to have guys going out and doing their jobs you saw the off L up front there physical skill players made it happen with the ball in their hands and the quarterback really showed command on that last they'll try to attack one more on their score the kick is up and good and put one more on the lead and for a quick update let's go to Kevin Conor in the studio all right guys a little up dat on what else is happening in college football this weekend Florida Atlantic is trailing right now and I know it may look Bleak but this team needs to regroup remind itself it's at home and remember just how quickly things can change Johnson wants to throw it it's a touchdown game they're trailing by seven to Army we'll Circle back if anything big happens in this college football matchup oh and now about that I know Kevin and those guys will be keeping an eye on it for us may not be the most memorable play of the day but it's important as he gets him out to the 25 yd line they'll try to get it through 300 yards on the day really nice job executing putting up some yards today pretty good day for the young man he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple they'll line up for a second down play wide receiver coming across in motion out of the gun they give to the back several Defenders there to get him on the ground guys this offense is already reeling down multiple possessions really need to cash in on this drive try to get the edge with a quick touch pass the wild cats pick up the first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs going to run it it's giddens we'll give him a couple on that one second and eight coming up they're about to snap it for the seventh time on this drive on second down he'll fire wide open downfield good job running that route to get past the sticks because got nothing after the catch off the play fake on first down quarterback now on the Run still looking and he gets it just beyond the line of scrimmage before he gets down second down coming [Applause] up Johnson looking to throw got his man in the middle and he's tripped up but not before picking up the first down the wild cats come to the line with a fresh set of downs comes out throwing on first down and swatted down by the defense to stop the scoring opportunity long drive continues as the offense keeps working the ball down the field oh big Juke to get pass he's brought down but he's got him inside the 10 first and goal from the eight new seter Downs right on the doorstep for this offense they'll keep it on the ground for first and goal nowhere to run on that one he loses four on the carry looks as if we have an injury on that last play and we'll take a break to check him out defense rose up deep in its own end on that last play now a second and long coming calls this offense has ready they Unleashed an aerial assault last time that took them right to the endone David So ree with that drive I think you've accomplished something you wanted to accomplish make this defense think put them back on their heels now shoot you might be able to slip a few runs in on this drive to really Jack him up yeah I like that idea but I also like the fact that speed kills they've got it at the receiver position so if you got one-on-one matchups man take advantage they make the stop right there good pickup it's still short of the first down kept it on the ground last time bringing up a second down from the shotgun the hand off to the back and he fights his way forward gets away from one but not much doing on that one time winding down in the quarter as they come to the line he'll throw on third down and that's incomplete a Defender all over him knocked the ball to the ground fourth down coming up and after that best thing you can do hunt it away here comes the Special Teams the punt goes out of bounds and a nice job to get them backed up I think they'll spot it right around the 15 Johnson wants to throw it got his man in the middle they get him on the ground and that'll be the final play of this third period these two quarterbacks have produced as we check out their numbers after [Music] three one more period to go to see who can make the winning they move the chains they mark it at the 29 pulls it and fires to the left this is the moment for this offense to put a drive together it doesn't matter what's happened up to the point of this game but you're trailing right now you got to put some points up on the board this is where all 11 guys need to be playing together as one he steps out of bounds but he's got enough for a first down this Kansas State offense is moving quickly down the field they keep attacking through the air got it in the middle it's cus they stop him almost immediately short game there still a little ground cover pick up the first he's looking for a man on second down fires to the big fella he is tackled but it'll be a fresh set of downs the offense will put it in play from the 47 on First and 10 used the play fake now to throw Dan is away from the pressure going to his left and they're on him in a heart beat and down he goes this quarterback is thinking to himself I need to get an nil deal at some restaurant so I can take my offensive line out and feed them more because I don't think they like me very much right now I've been sacked six times times in this game it's time to get that new nil deal payche up that last play the kind of thing that can mess up a really good drive it's second and 17 Johnson looking to throw quickly to the tight end he's run out of bounds but not before turning in a big pick up and moving the sticks for a first down I'll tell you you cannot count this team out because of who's playing quarterback when this guy's in the game it's never over yeah they're trailing here in the fourth quarter but this dude can put up points quickly didn't get much on first down it's second and nine he's looking to throw fires deep toward the end zone and they want it at all on that incomplete pass instead they're looking at third down if they can convert here that type of play can really give you a shot of momentum going back to the well another deep ball makes a has work to do but the defense has to go out and get a stop and get him the ball back he'll try to tack on one more exra point and it's up and good as they draw Just a Touch closer about to kick it away after scoring the touchdown and he takes this from inside the five he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 the offense lining up for a first down play CAU in the back field it's Allen I think this receiver Forte is his route running he's a guy that can line up all over the field but it's not just catching post routes and goes this guy can run shallows he can run Slants he can run the option routes and find soft spots in the defense this guy really has all the routes in his tools first down here for the offense using the quick game and just a short safe pass play they pick up a few quarterback by himself in the back [Applause] field on second down he'll let it fly swings it out to the flat they make the stop trying to pick up just a little bit at a time to get to that first down marker lining up to convert third down they'll try to run for it he's got first down yardage across the 50 they'll mark it at the 49 here's this offense with a fresh set of downs welcome to the stream big Hampton a solid pick up there before the defense is able to make the stop after the run second and medium he's looking to throw flips it out in the flat they are on the move down to the 32 and they pick up another first down offense about to reel off seventh play of the drive off play action on first down going over the top and it'll be a touchdown you know quarterbacks and receivers they develop confidence and chemistry as the game goes on these two right now are definitely on the same page [Music] he'll try to tack on one more and bunch of world beaters right now I'm not sure I've ever seen this offense look this crisp they're up 14 over the as just another week of college football where we've come to expect the unexpected fellas and how about that one Kevin will be keeping an eye on everything going on elsewhere a little bit more to go after that last completion they'll try to pick it up on second down Johnson wants to throw it fires to the wide out got his man on the right and he gets it to the 45 yd line and that'll be a first down fresh set of downs after the completion grabs it in the middle and he's brought down after a nice game man down on the play as the officials take a break to let him be checked out Kansas state has it with another first and 10 he's going to pass got it behind the line it's gens and a good job in coverage there as they stop it after just a few still some work to do after that last completion at second down he's looking to throw finds a tight end and that defense doesn't allow a cut back and they get him out of bounds after a short gain passing game very effective on second down what about here on third fires to the right makes the grab finally way run out of bounds but he has this offense rolling with a first down from the Red Zone looking for receiver that's caught it's Swanson makes the catch and he's brought down offense gets set for second down they're going to run it fights his way ahead they get him down after a pick up of three they'll mark it at the 12 boy they'd love to pick up this conversion and go to work with a first and goal he got it and he will score touchdown Kansas State tou I know it's early this year but it's obvious this guy is a focal point in this offense after having two touchdowns in his first game he gets on the board here doesn't matter where he lines up they find ways to get him the football and defenses just have not been able to figure him out ling up to add another is on for the extra point and with the extra point every little bit counts as they get closer almost ready to kick it away after scoring the touchdown fielded In The End Zone it's Tomlinson nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the 16 okay so here comes the offense returning to the field motion by the back forces the defense to adjust gets it out fast the defense wouldn't let him loose and even though it's in completion they lost yardage this could have the ear marks of a wasted drive if they don't come up with something on second down from the 13 good blocking up front great job following it he's got six to the 18 now facing a third and long from the gun wants to pass and they'll miss the connection here on third down the punt team makes its way onto the field they're up to a half dozen kicks today he's got great speed he'll put a stop to that return as he gets it up to the 41 yd line K state has the ball back and the power cat offense returns to the field pulls it fire complete he will step out of bounds but not before the big pickup and a first down for this offense looking to move it through the air grab behind the line it's Jackson makes a grab and he's dragged down that completion leaves us with second and [Music] medium they think they can create space here with the run to the right they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one hoping to help there kick her out with a few yards on third down because from here it would be a 58 yder they're trying to get to him strong pass rush gets to the quarterback and they get him at the 46 they got more sacks than a grocery store goodness gracious time and time again getting to the quarterback getting him on the ground this defense having their way he'll get away another punt he's been really active today and no doubt he's going to earn his varsity L first down here for the offense he wants to start this drive with a pass complete to the left and they'll get it to the 39 yd line and they'll move the chains they created a lot of breathing room with that first play of the drive now first down from the 39 trying to get them out flat on the Jet Sweep One Step WRA twep squeeze this junior knows how to get him on the ground second down here and maybe they've got time to get one more snap off before the two-minute warning we have arrived at the two-minute warning a one possession game as this offense tries to hold on fast motion from the offense the handoff keep working on that clock timeout called there by the defense desperate to get the ball back and save as much time as possible big third down play here if they get a stop you'll see an immediate timeout from the gun wants to pass it's caught down field running toward the tapate and he will house it and you know late in the games offenses sometimes get conservative when they got the lead and they got the ball I love this offense they were aggressive they got another score added to the lead now you're trying to Salt this game [Applause] away they'll try to add another to their lead and the extra point extends the lead to double figures at 10 quick work on that scoring drive just four plays and they cap things off with a touchdown pass from y out from inside his own 10 let's see what he gets really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 and here comes the Kansas State offense back onto the field David the punter got some work last time they'd like to keep him on the sidelines in this drive yeah it's not something you want to say very often you don't want the punter out there this offense needs to get back lathered up and get a little bit more best way to do that identify where your best players are and just get them the football give these guys some touches to Kickstart this offense and now on second down for this offense Johnson looking to throw pressure coming all kinds of room to throw that one in there he knew exactly where he wanted to go with that one and they've got enough for the first down looks as if we have an injury on that last play and we'll take a break to check him out with a first down they will snap it from the 32 he's looking to throw it quickly complete and that will go backwards a negative play in that defense on high alert that time on second down wants to throw complete downfield the offense will quickly use the timeout ball is at the 42 yd line close to four down territory here's third and short grabbed over the middle it's cus and he gets it out past the sticks it'll be first down for Kansas State clock stops momentarily for the first down they'll hurry to the line looking to go up top on first down and they got him he'll get him down for the sack the hurry up now second down clock ticking he'll spike the ball to try to save every precious second he can I'm not positive but that first down marker might be in the next County on Third and long does it need to take the check down and the incomplete pass will bring up fourth down no signs of any kind of kicker as they'll leave the offense out there to try to move those chains feeling some heat it's incomplete and they desperately needed to keep that drive going and they couldn't make the connection and this one is just about in the books the defense can stop the clock one more time as the offense takes a KNE I know a lot of people thought this was going to be a blowout but this team said just when you think you have all the answers I change the questions it's so true reys I mean they had a lot of dudes that we were talking to leading up to this game just had a chip on their shoulder they just didn't feel like they were being respected and they wanted to come out and they wanted to prove a point in David they did exactly just that and it's so much easier to be the underdog it's so much easier to coach that team and you go hey they're ranked everybody's talking about them you don't have a chance it just builds all that momentum all that hate and you
