final home game of the season for one team it is more importantly a celebration senior day as we see a squad from the Big 12 the Texas Tech Red Raiders taking on a squad hoping to prevent another L this week the Oklahoma State cowbo for EA Sports college football I'm Reese Davis joined here in the booth as always by David Pollock and Jesse Palmer guys let's te this one [Music] [Applause] up boys we'll put total Lea and we'll get started and they desperately wanted to attempt to return but decided not to instead they'll take the touch back so Texas Tech's offense will have the first possession of the game there are always butterflies to start a game but when you have a rivalry like this the adrenaline is pumping on overdrive guys they aren't all the same we say that but we know differently the blood is boiling the temperature is hot Jesse you want this week more than most yeah and David we've played in these games before everything just seems to be heightened right the game game seems to be moving faster the crowd noise feels louder your composure will be tested early in a game like this these routes have some reads and adaptability built in and the big fella found that cushion and made the play man it's so awesome how much offenses have evolved they know exactly what they're getting where to sit down quarterback tight end on the same page gets the first down it's first first and 10 from the 38 yd line they'll give it to the back able to scr three yards out of that one somehow it's second and seven went to the running game on first down now here they come again on second down he'll let it fly and he tries to get away but he cannot he's taken down he'll lose a couple this defense has the ability to get pressure on the QB from The Edge and that don't necessarily mean from defensive ends but from the outside linebackers these guys get in their Sprinter stances and they come off the ball that outside linebacker showed you his speed right there ball is at the 41 as this defense tries to force the punt on Third and long from the gun wants to pass he's got it down the middle and stampeding through the defense and he's brought down after a huge completion and the Red Raiders racing to the line in the hurry up quarterback on the keeper and he's a real Nowhere Man tackled in this no gain land now on second down he's looking to throw fires into the end zone and the pass hit picked off and how about that play by the defense here early in this game opening drive facing one of the best quarterbacks in all of college football and they're able to get an interception that is going to be massive for their confidence in this [Music] game offense getting set for first down I [Applause] to hold and fired complete he's brought down quickly minimal gain there still a bit short of the first down after the run second and [Applause] medium going to run it it's Fields nowhere to run on that one he loses four on the carry they line up and it is a long Long Way to the sticks from here trying to move the sticks on third down through the air quickly out to the tight end they able to get him stopped just shy of the first down marker and the Cowboys will try to pin them back with the punt let's see if he can help the coverage team out with this one he'll settle for some pretty good field position and make the fair catch at around the 35 Texas Tech has it back and the Red Raider offense on its way to the field brings him down at the 48 it's a gain of 15 and a first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs used the play fake now to throw moving keeping the eyes down field trying to make magic with his feet on the run and he'll slide to avoid the big hit second down coming up he's looking to throw quick strike complete and they bring him down but did you see this freshman rifle that thing in there here's the handoff and the defense holds firm no pickup at all on that play got stuffed on first down it's second and 10 he's looking to throw they'll run the screen they make the stop after the catch and still some work to do to pick up that first down Ball's at the 27 it's third and short can they avoid making that fourth down decision they've got it just outside the Red Zone they'll move the chains it's at the 21 the Red Raiders will line it up on First and 10 to the ground he's got it again and he does a really nice job finding open space and making a good game before the stop is made got it behind the line it's Johnson they make the stop at the two but he's got enough to give them a first and goal this offensive scoring position with a fresh set of downs barges ahead and he takes it in for the score touchdown Red Raiders they can use this first score to sort of set the tone guys in this rivalry matchup man doesn't this feel good to come out score early get the crowd involved get the nerves out of the way Palmer when you're playing in a big rivalry game yeah and I feel like momentum is always a big thing in any game but in rivalry games it's that much more important because everybody is going to feed off that first score now and the extra point makes it seven nothing and for a quick update let's go to Kevin Connor's in the studio hey guys got a final score in a big top 25 matchup Nebraska went into hostile territory and came away with a convincing Victory the Huskers always seem to get everyone's best punch but today they were the ones who delivered The Knockout finds his man it's b a top 25 clash and an impressive showing that could be a huge confidence builder for this program back to you Kevin thanks a lot for that one sounds as if they had a good one there stacked up after gaining a couple to the 23 they line up with some serious work to do if they want to convert this one feeling some heat picks up the first down and gets down to avoid contact here's this offense with a fresh set of downs running back searching for a hole he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple they'll line up for a second down play the give to the running back from the shotgun he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three Ball's at the 27 this offense facing a third and long he's looking downfield to throw pocket starts to collapse they get enough rush and it pays off the sack of the 20 that is not an easy situation if you're an offensive lineman second and third and long because you know the dline they're coming they know you're throwing the football as an O lineman you better get out of your St dance and get your hands up and punch and not miss cuz if you do then that's what happens right there the Cowboys line up to punt it away this will be the second time they've had to kick it away and the punt team able to smack him to the ground Texas Tech ready to send the offense back onto the field that last Drive really productive David wound up with a touchdown they'll try to do it again yeah so I don't expect this offense to change too much Reese they had a great Drive they got the touchdown everything working I would expect them to keep pushing this ball downhill and just imagine if they could put another touchdown on the board right here they could capture so much momentum in this game with backto back TDS trying to move the sticks on third down third keeps it on the bootleg looking to throw quickly to the tight end he gets the job done on third down they move the chains it's at the 37 wonder if they'll be conservative on First and 10 finds the tight end that's about as close as you can get to that marker and it will be second and just a few breaths away from the first down now the play fake caught over the middle it's Johnson good job running that route to get past the sticks because he got nothing after the catch out of the shotgun they go to the ground got some room Ed to the goal line and he rolls into the house touchdown Red Raiders I can hear the defensive coordinator in the next Booth yelling wrap up you have to wrap up bring your feet four points of contact you hear all those stuff from your defensive coaches but you know what sometimes the guy's just better than you he makes a play and gets in the end zone [Music] they'll try to add another to their lead the extra point and the extra point makes it 14 nothing so that scoring Drive took only six plays and what a way to finish it off with a 21 yd touchdown run Z he'll start the return inside his five nice job by the k off team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the 16 Oklahoma state has it back in the offens is on the field to say this has been a slow start is a bit of an understatement and they really need to get it going here Jesse that's right the opponent they're firing on all cylinders right out of the gate offensively for this unit they've been slow and struggling they need an explosive play to wake themselves up and it's just the first quarter so it's not the end of the world you've seen slow starts but you got to continue to pick and pick and pick until you find that play or or that scheme that you can use against this defense good pick up on the ground and they'll Mark him down at the 39 they plow ahead with the run but still more ground needed to pick up the first down third down coming they get him on the ground but not before he gets enough with the first down and the Cowboys look to keep this drive huming they'll leave it with him just a solid stop by this sophomore got three on first down at second and seven off play action getting some heat and the throw out to the sideline good for just a few yards here on third down y they'll try to pick up the first through the air and it's incomplete despite some serious arm strength shown there the Cowboys will bring the punt team onto the field oh this is a bad bad shame not going to take a chance to grab that one as it bounces out of bounds Texas Tech has it back in the Red Raider offense on its way to the field Jesse looking to take it down the field for back-to- back touchdowns I think it's really important for them moving forward too to have a lot of balance right you want to be able to keep this defense guessing PA yeah and you got me searching for answers after that last drive you stack another drive on oh picked off got some room to run the 10 and with the interception he'll take it all the way back touchdown Oklahoma State the DB saw it he thought don't drop it don't drop it then thought don't get caught don't get caught and he didn't the pick six hey these guys can play offense too now look at this I showed you I can be a wide receiver coach might not at wide receiver next week after making that big play but defense great job making the interception and you're right doing something with it don't just slide down don't be content take that thing all the way back brother now they'll line up for what they hope is [Applause] automatic and with the extra point every little bit counts as they get closer they're about to kick it away and the defense probably can't wait to get back out there after the pick six on the move from inside is five he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 Texas Tech ready to send the offense back onto the field from the gun they'll try the middle that keeps the running game churning pick up of five to the 23 halfway there on first down it's second and five he'll do it himself he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple if they can convert here that type of play can really give you a shot of momentum on Third and long he's going to have to throw for it got it in the middle it's Johnson After Burner coming and a pick up of better than 30 yards on that completion before the defense brings him down well after that last play you can see how electrifying this guy is and how special he is after he makes the catch if I'm on offense I'm trying to find a lot of ways to get him touches in this game got his man downfield and he gets it down to the four yd line before he's finally stopped a terrific run after the catch I know it's early in the game but defensively after that play you know you have to tackle the catch when this guy gets the ball in his hands he is so dangerous after the fact so it's okay for him to make catches just got to get him to the ground quickly defense rolls up deep at its own end on that last play now a second and long coming tries again to get it in he's got it down to the one yd line right on the doorstep of per they've moved it right to the precipice of a score and they need one more yard the give he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three they'll play it safe send out the field goal unit Neil boot one from the right has he ought to be able to navigate that angle from this distance oh and the attempt is no good and the margin remains at seven after the Miss that's just a chip shot that's just a field goal they got to make [Music] guys Oklahoma State hoping to get the pistol firing on offense their Drive chart is starting to look a little monotonous punt punt punt David and their defense is starting to get a little frustrated too they just keep putting me back on the field possession after possession Jesse this offense needs to get their heads out of there you know what the punter's on the sideline with the oxygen mask right now he's been playing so much he's not used to this this the quarterback bought as much time as he could but the defense got to him and sacked him all right that's one the offensive line has got to be able to communicate and pick up when that inside linebacker comes running through the a gap or the B Gap those o lineman they've got to work together and they've got to pass guys off to one another to make sure they pick him up they didn't do it that time now looking for that first down on Third and short from the 26 back to throw it's foward W doing what he does best he can move and the ball is out who's going to get it picks up the ball and tries to make something of it does it always seem like that ball is on the ground for like 30 seconds you got 17 guys running at it and slow motion like I got to get the football offense very lucky to get that football back and the Cowboys will send out the punt unit fourth time tonight we've seen this guy come on to punt [Applause] he'll feel the punt and try to make something happen they were playing with fire on that return and he got loose for a good return of better than 30 yards using the quick game defense makes a stop but the chains move and it's first and goal from the eight the offense threatening close to the end zone now with a new set of downs they'll keep it on the ground for first and goal he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three defense rolls up deep in its own end on that last play now a second and long coming gets it out fast good throwing catch takes it down to the five as the offense tries to cash in this defense was put in an awful position if they can get a stop on third down a huge win to force the field goal T down Red Raiders and they'll put that scoreboard operator to work and put six on the board number three well this offense is top 10 in the country in points per game because they've got a lot of speed and they've got home run hitters they score fast they don't need 10 plays to go down the field you saw it right there they've recruited well they've got Playmakers they're going to be a problem for defenses all year long and the extra point pushes the lead to 14 let's go to the studio now and check in with Kevin Connors Kevin what do you got lot of eyeballs on your game guys and a few on this interesting matchup as well Nevada is down right now but this young man under center today has shown some Moxy we could see a Legend born today in Reno it's a touchdown game they're trailing by seven to Fresno State your boy KC has you covered here in studio guys in case anything changes in this one and how about that one Kevin will be keeping an eye on everything going on elsewhere stacked up after gaining a couple to the 23 as they get set to snap it just about to reach the end of the quarter on third down he'll try to pick it up through the air and that's incomplete a Defender all over him knocked the ball to the ground fourth down coming up yet another punt on the way got to make sure that hamstring stays loose he's been busy that's the end of the quarter and Texas Tech is on top they largely dominated this first quarter as indicated by the staffs this could be a pivotal moment in this game as we open the second period and they try to find a way to answer off the play fake on first down to throw got his and he was loose and in the open field field and on his way a tremendous pick up on that one well this offense told us coming in they were going to challenge this secondary it's a fumble on the play and the defense has got it there trying to pick up some yards there he goes to the right at the 20 touchdown Oklahoma State and the defense doing work and that's just the guy you want to find that football the ball's loose who you want to get it one of your little fast guys the defensive back picks it up and turns on the afterburners takes it all the way back for the touchdown [Music] [Applause] ling up to add another and it's up and good as they draw Just a Touch closer the kickoff team just about set to go and that defense is eager to get back out there after the scoop and score on the run from inside his own five he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 Texas Tech has it back in the Red Raider offense on its way to the field from the gun the running back tries to hit the hole they stop him after a 6yd run out through the 24 got six on first down now a lot of options on second and four give to the back tackled at the 29 let's give him five on that one it'll be a first and 10 from the 29 he's going to pass makes the catch it's Johnson they stop him just short of the first down but it will be second and inches coming up he's looking to throw coming after him and the Freshman will CH up a sack this offense was set up perfect second and inches you can do whatever you want but how about the defense responding getting the big sack and now putting this offense in a horrible third and long situation [Applause] third down conversion is always a huge stat and they've got a third and long from the 27 he's looking to pass got it set up on the outside defense was not fooled by that screen to the back and they'll stop him short of the marker it'll be fourth down and the Red Raiders will line up to punt it away he'll try to really get into this one no return coming he'll call for the fair catch Oklahoma state has it back in the offense is on the field they've hit a bit of a lull here and they need to get things cranked up with this possession Jesse just haven't had a rhythm these last couple of possessions but I'll tell you the best way to get back into one is to run the football establish yourselves up front at the line of scrimmage and help keep these third Downs manageable yeah and the best news is your defense at least forced a pun of their own so now you can go answer with that good stop while this game is still close this is going keep putting more on the board and let's see less of the pun they'll run it out of the shotgun all down at the 38 yd line and a big pick up of 15 yds there the Cowboys come to the line with a new set of downs wants to throw on first down off the play fake going to try to get it himself and he gets out of there he gets some yardage and gets down without taking any punishment down to the 18 ydd line it's first and 10 unleashes to the end zone and the ball is pick off when you get in the Red Zone you can see as a defense you get into your drops really quickly and you get your eyes on the quarterback and you try to read his eyes and break on the football it's such Tight Windows to throw in great job by the defender breaking on the ball creating the interception Texas Tech ready to send the offense back onto the field here's another opportunity Jesse to stretch out this lead after punting last time I think it goes back to your Playmakers reys I think it's finding the guys that have been working for you earlier on in this game and getting them the football yeah and there's obviously no need to panic I mean think about it you got the lead you got the football you got to be smart with the football make your plays put a good drive together here that play Just never had a chance a knock him down for a loss of five this defense has kept him backed up now one more stop and they can get off the field on Third and long and sure tackling there to keep him from getting to the first down marker he just didn't have a chance to get loose and make his way to that first down marker I think fans get upset sometimes like run your route past the sticks so we get the first down but nice job by the defense understanding where the sticks were and forcing the for fourth down the Red Raiders send out the punt unit this will be the second time they've had to kick it away he will signal for the fair Catch and take it just inside the 35 Oklahoma State hoping to get the pistols firing on offense he's got his man he's R out of bounds but a big play on that one and it'll be a first [Applause] down on the run it's Fields man that D tackle is a freaked athlete did you see him come out of his stance and beat the offensive lineman getting to the running back catlike quickness the inside hand off a solid pick up there before the defense is able to make the stop let's see what they do on third down moving the running back trying to get the D to tip its hand finds his tight end he gets it to the 38 yd line and they'll pick up a fresh set of downs and the Cowboys have their offense in high gear from the gun leaves it on the inside with the back they they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one lost one on that last one it's second and 11 from the gun running back on the move and the Freshman does a great job using his technique and getting the man on the ground third down conversions are a huge stat and this one would be a dooy if they can pull it off finds his man he's run out of bounds but not before turning in a big pick up and moving the six for a first down looking to move it through the air makes the grab on the left nice completion here to this wide receiver and you're going to see this receiver line up in different spots all over the field all game long defense has got to keep their eye on where this guy is because they know he's a big part of this offensive success here they come facing third and long from the 20 to throw it's Fowler dumps it to the back quickly complete gets out of bounds after the big play and they'll be set up in business for the first and goal first and goal he'll try to get it in with the Run brought down at the seven after picking up three defense roll up deep in its own end on that last play now a second and long coming the run up the middle trying to steamroll his way in knocked down after a game gain of one they'll mark it at the six this is one of those momentum turning points that this defense can force a field goal attempt that is a victory and he's got it pistol firing touchdown cowboy and this quarterback really does a great job of seeing the defense and seeing what kind of coverage they're in and I think when this offense goes empty and they spread the defense out it just makes it so much more simple for the QB to see what the defense is doing and wait just a second the officials going to take a second look at this [Applause] one after taking another look just to confirm everything the officials on the field got it right play will stand and he Ted on the extra point we check in with Kevin Connors what's going on Kevin arguably the game of the week fellas with two top 25 teams locking horns Iowa is currently trailing but if this young star leads back today he could join former Heisman winner Nile Ken among the legends to wear that uniform it's a touchdown game they're trailing by seven to Illinois quickly complete we'll Circle back if anything big happens you should know about it thanks for the update on that one Kevin let us know when it goes final from the gun the G looking for room stuffed almost in his track but strong enough to pick up one to the 35 he wants to pass it on second down makes the grab and they'll finally get him down after a terrific pickup you know it's one thing to have all the accolades preseason and have all the expectations but it's another thing to be able to go out and execute week in week out he's done that he now has over 1500 receiving yards on the year [Applause] and the Red Raiders have it with a first and 10 pulls and fires it complete to the right they pick up half of it it'll be second and five stuck with a running game on first down now here they come again they'll keep it on the ground to the right makes a man B they make the tackle at the 33 but he's ripped off 15 yds and picked up a first down might as well give it to him again not much room to run let's give him one to the 33 didn't get much on first down it's second and [Applause] nine they'll run it from the gun they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one seventh play of the drive coming up but a long way to go on third down looking to throw and they can't make the play on third down the Red Raiders will putt this one away they'll look to pin him [Applause] deep and they'll blow this one down at the 20 yd line Oklahoma state has it back in the offenses on the field how big is this drive scored a touchdown the last time they had it defense gets to stop and now it's up to them in a tie game all right so if you're the offensive coordinator here let's dial it in who are your best matchups and best Playmakers to take advantage of this golden opportunity yeah and I'm interested to see this defense too like the momentum is clearly not in your favor how do you get it back how do you make a big play do you be more aggressive here try to get the football back to be off leaves it with the running back not a whole lot of room there three yds maybe second and seven tried to pound it on first down now back to the line they'll run the counter nice solid form tackle from this sophomore offense breaks the Huddle on third down wants to throw it's fouler finds it back in the middle and they knocked him down but he got past The Line Game the Cowboys are on the move a little misdirection and the hand off on the counter and excellent Vision to find Running Room there and make a really good pick up before the defense put a stop to it the p and throw off the RPO really nice job there by both guys the throw and the catch to work that defense and get the first down first down for the off he's looking to throw it unloads to the wide out it's caught downfield the stop is made but this offense is threatening first and goal from the nine okahoma they'll try to get it in with the Run nowhere to run on that one he loses four on the carry defense roll up deep in its own end on that last play now a second and long coming they'll run it up the middle here looking for a path to the end zone pull down after a pick up of five they'll mark it at the eight they've gotten pushed back but is still third and goal from the gun wants to pass on the Run still looking and he runs it in for the score touchdown Cowboys you know what methus lived 969 years he was born and died in the amount of time it took them to walk it down the field and score that touchdown that's just so frustrating play after play after play you line up you try to do your assignment and you fail and they cap it off with a touchdown oh methusa lining up to tack one more onto that lead and the extra point is true and they're on top by seven so it's an yard drive and it was capped off with the 8 yd [Applause] run he'll bring it back from inside his five nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the 16 to the air on first down throws to the wide out a strike downfield finally run out of bounds but he has this offense rolling with a first down well it didn't take long for this guy to leave his impact in the game guys with that catch this guy's already over a 100 yards in the game and we're not even done the first half and this will be incomplete a big hit there for a second down couldn't make the connection last time let's see if they throw it again on second down he's looking down field buys a little time with his feet last time these two got together it was a tight one Jesse seems like every time these two teams play the game just feels faster right because it is a rivalry game there's just a greater sense of urgency when we see these teams match up yeah the fans feel it they know it there's so much true they think about it all year long we can talk about the next game on the schedule they're always looking forward to this one makes the grab and it's enough for the first down before he's dragged to the ground there's a timeout called as this offense tries to find a way to draw a little closer fires to the big fella they make the stop trying to pick up just a little bit at a time get to that first down [Applause] marker wants to throw on second down catch in the middle it's Johnson and he'll be taken down but he does have enough for the first down and the Red Raiders come to the line with a fresh set of downs going up top on first down they're working that left side there to make the tackle but the big throw is good enough to give them a first down the Red Raiders have taken it inside the 20 from the Red Zone looking for a man catch in the middle it's reinbolt we got a timeout here late in the first half and they'll try to get more points on the board before the break going to work on second down in the red zone is still some ground to cover to pick up that first down he's looking to throw right down the middle and it's picked off at the goal line that's one way to make a stop and he's wrapped up after a solid return on the pick and that's just excellent cover man cover one nowhere to throw the football look at everybody playing man across the board and you still got the safety in the middle of the field nobody open and if I'm the QB man I don't need to force it I I Don't Force It In The Tight Windows if it's not there he throws it unfortunately gets the interception bad decision by the QB there Oklahoma State hoping to get the pistols firing on offense now you find out just how much of a gunslinger you are will he off one deep down the left side and it slips through his fingers incomplete that would have been a huge game if he could have held on looking downfield it's Fowler he's got him this time he's really close to that first down marker but they stop him just a bit short on third and short they'll try to pick it up on the ground here it'll be brought down and that's the final play of the half we played two quarters here time to go to Kevin Connor in our halftime update thanks so much guys and I need not tell you rivalry games always bring out a ton of emotion and no surprise we saw just that in the first half today and it' be easy to say these two offenses are glad we've hit halftime based on their respective performances it would also be accurate turnovers and sacks have told the story so far and you got to believe the play calling has been the issue right time to shred those game plans and just get back to basics that said let's get back to the field and our guys in the booth to see who comes out on top of this rivalry contest and the Red Raiders will kick it off to start the second half [Applause] and he takes this from inside the five really disciplin job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 Oklahoma state has it back and the offense is on the field trying to set the tone on the ground in the third running hard and getting six yds out to the 26 6yd pickup on first down leaves him with second and four takes a hand off it's Fields out to the 36 yd line after gaining 10 on that one bill snap it from the 36 they've got a first down right back to the well he'll give him a couple on that one second and eight coming up got a little work done on first down now back to the line looking to throw it's fow working that left side now and the defense had that one well covered just a short game there they've got it at the 41 third and short trying to keep the change moving from the gun wants to pass quickly complete they make the stop but the sweet flow catches plenty to give him a first down and the Cowboys have this offense rolling working the middle it's complete stopped after making the catch man down on the play as the officials take a break to let him be checked out line getting set on second down he's looking to throw fires to the wide out he's got it and the quarterback stuck it right in the keyhole and they've got it down to the 30 yd line he'll pull it on the read he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple after losing yage is second and 12 they'll move the running back to try to force the defense to adjust fires into traffic it's picked off going the other way and he's got room and they capitalize not only on the pick but the great return to give the offense tremendous field position we've just seen in this game the ball has just gotten away from him a little bit a couple of times just hasn't been able to put it where he want wants to and as a result that's now his second pick thrown in this game Texas Tech has it back in the Red Raider offense on its way to the field that last possession a prime example Jesse of how things get condensed in the Red Zone hard to throw when the windows are smaller and that's what happens down near the goal line David this quarterback here just take accountability and ownership and come out here lead your offense and move on like we needed points makes the grab at the T and it is a chunk play a huge gain on that one before the defense brings it to an end he's got it crisp execution in the passing game and they've got it down to the three operating in the Red Zone here on second down out of the gun they'll run it inside touchdown ready Raider and they add six more to the board with that trip to the house3 this running back was not going to be denied nice blocking up front to create a hole for this running back and he was able to take advantage they'll try to attack one more on their score and the extra point was made without incident and we're tied up here in the third and let's check in with Kevin Conor in it for us defense covering it up and not letting the offense get it back it's a turnover Texas Tech ready to send the offense back onto the field this could be a real turning point in the game they scored a touchdown they got a stop and now a chance to break the tie yeah this offense has got it cooking man and how about the defense great job getting that stop getting the football right back to the hot hand now this offense Palmer has a chance to take over you can see the offense too they understand the situation right now they were jonesing on the sidelines to get another opportunity to run back on the field they are ready to drive this ball and go score they'll throw it on first down how about that play to get a hand in there and force the incompletion going to work in the Red Zone they can pick up the first down without getting it into the end Zone grabbed over the middle it's Johnson he's down at the one and they almost had the touchdown pass on that one the terrain gets rough this deep in the Red Zone third down they can pick up the first without scoring throws into double coverage and it's picked off and the senior just snatched the ball out of the air and gave it back to his offense that's number two that's a good year for a lot of people what a day having two interceptions already I might try my hand on the other guy this guy is not somebody I want to mess [Music] with Oklahoma State hoping to get the pistols firing on offense ball security always Paramount that football must be riveted to your rib cage Jesse and it wasn't last time and look he knows if that happens again he's going to find himself on the sideline so this is going to be a dude very motivated to make some plays on this drive yeah and and I think it's it's frustrating but you got to put behind you you got to move on and this offense has to go through him anyways you got to be able to run the football and have some balance after the strong run on second down third down coming do they do it again and it's intercepted a turnover for the defense he was looking for that big return to go with the pick but he'll set him up in business at the 36 and defensive backs you think don't have good hands the big fell shows it how about that defensive back going up and getting the interception nice job breaking on the football you say that's why you play defense because you don't have hands yeah I bet you did on first down here comes this offense catch open down the middle and just a short safe pass play they pick up a few kept it on the ground last time bringing up a second down got his man quickly and they pick up just a few on that completion they are in danger of squandering this great field position unless they can convert this third and five unloads to the light out he makes a catch and what a throw to get it in there and they've got it in business in the red zone at the 13 the give to the back and he'll pick up one it brings up second and nine going to work in the Red Zone they can pick up the first down without getting it into the end zone on second down just keeps firing he's they've got it down to the three yd line really well done on that throwing catch tight quarters deep in the Red Zone but they can pick up a first down without scoring third touch down Red Raiders an epic comeback they'll talk about this one forever if they can hold on but they're on top right now love the thought process by the quarterback here on this play Nobody open in the Zone find your check down find the running back he does that once this guy's got the ball in his hands he shows you six plays and they finish it up with the three ydd scoring toss he'll bring it out from inside his own 10 not a lot of space to be found good Hustle by the coverage team and they stop him at the 21 Oklahoma state has it back and the offense is on the field after throwing the pick on the last drive need to take care of the ball this time Jesse we're going to find out a lot about this quarterback right here too how does he fight through adversity after that last Drive yeah clear the mechanism move on that that's a part of it right if you're going to be a great player you got to learn how to handle these mistakes and move on gets it out quickly they make the stop but not before he takes a chunk out of what they need to move the sticks how bold will they be on third down after that last run looking for a man it's fow throws to the wide out got him downfield and the big gain and they've got it on the 46 love to see the fearlessness of a quarterback to work the middle of the field and he's got so much confidence in his own arm talent to be able to get that football there before the defense can break it up looking to go up top on first down he fires to the left side QB over throwing an open guy like that that is just a kick in the gut for this team still looking well the defense basically played that one perfect right against the RPO they did a nice job staying back hanging watching the quarterback's eyes and taking away any throw and when he decided to try to keep the football and scramble to his left they were all over him great job defensively playing together as one unit on that one a third and long coming up here from the gun wants to pass he rifles one deep down the right side and the defense couldn't caral him and he took it all the way touchdown cowbo and what nice play design you get your speed s you put them in the slot you usually get a better matchup and then what do you do you fade him towards that sideline run a go nice ball thrown way out wide he just runs underneath it and just too much speed couldn't catch him gets in the end zone for six getting set for the point after and the extra point was good no no incident there and we are tied up in the third after that latest answerer tied things up just about set to kick it away again and they thought about a return Then thought better of it they'll bring it out to the 25 Texas Tech has it back and the Red Raider offense on its way to the field David they love to do what they did last time and put this wining the end zone you ain't lying they did a great job the offense was clicking seems to be working and you seem to have this defense on their heels on Third and long try to convert through the air oh they really could have used that catch their physical pass defense it brings up a fourth down might have thought he' to try to pick up a few yards there but he's content with making the fair catch right around the 35 yd line they go to the ground you'll take four yards on first down every time second and [Music] six the option [Applause] look got her enough for the first nice job to keep it himself five the first down marker and move the change for this offense quarterback checking the play trying to get the edge on the toss on the nasty move and now he's got room really nice stop there from this senior leader after the three- yd pickup they come to the line Second and seven to the air it's Fowler fires to the wide out finds a man in the middle they are on the move down to the 32 and they pick up another first down first they'll go to the ground not much there on the line he gets one to the 31 didn't get much on first down it's second and nine from the shotgun the inside G pulled down after a pick up of four to the 27 Here Comes third and short from the 27 this defense trying to make them settle for a field goal quick release on the RPO good tackle there to stop him short of the first down and now they have to make a call now on fourth down they'll send out the field goal unit and the kicker delivers the three ball to finish off the drive and now they take the lead and this guy has been a machine all season long he is absolutely automatic you know you're getting three points when this guy js on the field [Music] so they were able to put up a three spot on that last drive and now the kickoff team out there as they prepare to put boot to leather he'll take the return try to get better field position nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the 16 Texas Tech ready to send the offense back onto the field he'll keep it himself he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple after getting knocked back to open this drive it's second and 12 he's looking to throw and the sack all the way back at the five this is a tough part of the field you want to try to create some space and and give yourself an opportunity not to throw out of your own inzone they didn't hold up in protection they give up the sack but thank goodness they didn't give up the safety they've already punted four times in this game and they're about to run the guy out there for a fifth time if they don't pick up the first down here give to the running back and he's not going to get there the defense Stands Tall and makes the stop the Red Raiders will call on their punt team doesn't say much for your drive when you're looking forward to the punt boy that seemed to be prime return territory instead he'll make the fair catch Oklahoma State hoping to get the pistols firing on offense from the gun the ground game and the defense makes the stop after a minimal gain didn't get much on first down it's second and nine they'll keep it on the ground and they're able to shove him to the turf as they stop him for a short gain how bold will they be on third down after that last run they're trying to get to it and this is dropped incomplete pass he had a huge gain in his fingers and he couldn't hold on now on fourth down they'll try to come away with three splits the uprights right down the middle and he knocks another one through and how about this kicker good way to start off your season right like what do you putting up a field goal let's see what the defense can do here he comes from inside his zone five didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 Texas Tech has it back in the Red Raider offense on its way to the field snags a quick pass on the left the pass on first down so after the first down run here's second down from the gun running back gets to give nowhere to run on that one he loses four on the carry now facing a third and [Music] long he's looking to throw and this is going to be incomplete on third down and the Red Raiders will punt it away on fourth down and these guys have been busy sixth punt of the day that's usually Prime return position but he'll make the fair catch just outside the 40 good field position here as they start this drive from their 43 nowhere to run on that one he loses four on the carry a negative play to open the Drive let's see what they've got on second and 14 takes the hand off it's Fields he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple and the running game has been going in the wrong direction they'll try to get their first positive play of the drive here on third down unloads to the wide out and a missed opportunity on third down as the defense knocks it free and fourth down is coming up he'll call for the fair catch here Texas Tech ready to send the offense back onto the field they've had to punt the last couple of times they've had it David now trying to put something together the re do you know how much I love punters and kickers like you don't want to see them very often those are not guys that we want to see on the field you want to do something else and be a little bit more productive offensively I think David on this drive the quarterback's just got to settle down a little bit these last few drives looks like he's seeing ghost we've seen him Force the football he's missed a couple throws he needs to just take a deep breath and play Within himself I know the passing game sell in the passing game is exciting but it's not exciting to get five or six yards a pop on the ground but it will be very successful to the ground with the back found enough room to get it into enemy territory they're down at the 43 yd line the Red Raiders are marching down the field he'll come out throwing on first down makes the grab along the sidelines but it'll be a little short of the first down out of and the play will stand after the replay moo just does a little double checking to make sure they'll try the Run tackle is made but not until he gets the first down and the Red Raiders come to the line with a new set of downs they'll give it to him again they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one they've got a solid Drive working but now looking at second and 11 he's is looking to throw trying to get to him and it's incomplete it was wild high and wide on that one this will be the eighth play of the drive but a great opportunity for the defense to get off the field he hurls one deep down the left side and it's incomplete good play downfield by the DB the Red Raiders decide to pun it away the punt goes out of bounds and a nice job to get them backed up I think they'll spot it right around the 15 line gets set first down from the shotgun now here's an inside g at the 35 he's open and he's got enough for a first down now to see if they have enough time to snap it again here in the third guys at the end of the quarter and Oklahoma state has the lead here let's take a quick look at the national rankings to see how this playoff race is shaping up they'll break the seal on this quarter here on first down they're going to ride this running back at this point of the game the offense has the lead the offensive coordinator knows they want to keep running the football so he's going back he's looking at his playlist and he's saying which runs work the best for me in this game what can I lean on right here to make sure we win this one creating some space getting just enough good blocking and they've got it up to the 47 yd line free snap Motion in the back field quick strike complete excellent job working through the air they're finding a hole in that defense and picking up a first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs from the gun they'll try to impose their will it's a point in the game I think as a coaching staff where you really challenge your offensive line to go win the football game right we've got to lead late we're going to run the football and the Def and everybody in the stadium knows that's what's going to happen can we run the ball down their throats and impose our will that's what this offense right now is trying to [Applause] do working the middle of the field and it's complete makes a catch and knock down going to work on second down in the red zone is still some ground to cover to pick up that first down out of the gun the running back has it nowhere to run on that one he loses four on on the carry this will be the eighth play of the drive but a great opportunity for the defense to get off the field sticking with the running game and finding enough space to get eight it leaves them with a fourth and two so on fourth down here comes the field goal kicker in a huge spot and the kicker delivers the three to salvage that drive and for a quick update let's go to Kevin Conor's in the the play they line up and it is a long way to the sticks from here incomplete he had to get rid of it before he wanted to the defense put the heat on and the Red Raiders will try to pin them back with the punt he's going to try to flip the field with this one he'll signal for and make the fair catch right around Midfield Oklahoma state has it back and the offense is on the field so last time David they ate up some clock ran a bunch of plays but settled for the field goal yeah but they're still up Le and I like where I'm at if I'm on offense right now my job is to put another long drive together eat more clock and get another score just got to be better in the Red Zone this time around when they get down close to the goal line you need better execution to put a touchdown on the showing off those sweet feet as he gets it to the 45 and now on third down after that last run the receivers often will run their route based on a side adjustment Nifty little dance step he steps out of bounds but he's got a first down on the play the Cowboys come to the line time with a fresh set of downs and first looking for a gap it's Fields had to work to pick up three down to the 33 yd line got three on first down it's second and seven the run from the [Applause] shotgun tackle was made after the first down and the Cowboys are on the Move first for the off they'll throw it on first down fires to the wide out all kinds of room to throw that one in there they make the stop but not before he sets them up with a first and goal from the 10 and they'll try to get it in with the Run gets it inside the 10 picks up a yard they'll mark it at the nine defense rolls up deep in its own end on that last play now a second and long coming dropping back it's Fowler and the pressure gets there and down he goes at the 18 quarterback now has to make sure his guys are dialed in you can't make any more mistakes giving up a negative play on second down down by the goal line you've got to be really smart with this football third and goal from way back there looking down field and he needs a bunch it's complete to the left looks as if we have an injury on that last play and we'll take a break to check him out so here we are on fourth down and this field goal kicker is going to face all the pressure in the [Applause] world between the uprights it's good and that will extend their lead even further and three more on the board and this kicker is starting to get a reputation starting off the seon hasn't missed yet nice to have a guy that you can really really depend [Music] on so after putting three on the board the kickoff team is out there ready to put it away and he'll just take a knee and this drive will start at the 25 Texas Tech has it back and the Red Raider offense on its way to the field snag it quickly on the left makes the grab and he's dragged down and here comes the offense on second [Applause] down he's looking to throw oh goes right through his hands and he will think about that one for a while it'll be third down trying to pick up a first down on Third and long he has to throw for it and he got smacked just as he released the pass it's incomplete the Red Raiders line up to punt it [Applause] away fair catch called for and take it at the 30 yd line the offense lining up for a first down [Applause] play got his man in the middle and he laid the lumber to stop him from getting the first down second down the give on the inside stopped at the 44 after a 5yd gain now they'll line it up from the 44 on First and 10 quarterback on the keeper and that Ball's on the ground behind the line everybody needs a little luck and the offense just got it by Falling on that fumble the G to the back creating some space getting just enough good blocking and they've got it up to the 47 yd line they line up with some serious work to do if they want to convert this one on third down he drops to throw he's got an open man and he'll go out of bounds and this aerial attack just continues to carve this defense into tiny slices this dude is just exceptional in every facet so so fluid such a great route Runner and a big play there and money down third down find him I mean you want to find that match up because he's going to win and gets a good release gets down the field you see his that's your playmaker that's your guy get it to him get the first down scanning the field it's Fowler they're bringing heat flushed out of the pocket and this sof able to wreak some havoc and get the sack this quarterback is thinking to himself I need to get nil deal at some restaurant so I can take my offensive line out and feed them more because I don't think they like me very much right now I've been sacked six times in this game it's time to get that new nil deal paycheck seventh play of the drive coming up but a long way to go on third down motion by the back forces the defense to adjust unloads it downfield touchdown Oklahoma State and they take it in and for six more points they build this lead here in the fourth and man has this been a long time coming as this brutal losing streak is close to ending now they have extended this lead guys starting to put the hammer but sometimes a rivalry game can give you a little of extra fight back and there can be no Panic at this point now you've worked too hard this offseason David they've had this game circled for so long you've got to play your best football right now and fight back and you just need something good to happen on this next possession you got to get the crow back into this football game big rivalry get some emotion get some momentum on your side he'll start the return inside his SP and The Return Man is stopped and that'll leave it up to the offense on the next drive he wants to throw and the physical play there forces the incompletion on first down second and 10 here he's looking to throw good timing on the quick out he will step out of bounds but not before the big pick up and a first down for this offense he's going to pass snags it over the middle and he was loose and out the gate and doesn't go down until he gets to the 48 yd line and at this point the def defense looks as if they've been in one of those dizzy bat races they've got no idea where the ball the ball is out behind the line it's as if that ball had a magnet going back to the offense how in the world did they keep it man down on the play as he off and it looks as if they've buzzed down replay wants to have another Peak at that last play so after reviewing the undisputable video evidence the replay booth has decided to overturn the call he's looking for a man on second down excellent coverage and good use of the hands to knock it away if they can convert here that type of play can really give you a shot of momentum on third down going up top fires to the tight end and he's not going to make it the defense denying him the first down coach has no choice here the offense has to stay on the field down multiple possessions this late fourth down attempt coming he's not going to make it and what a big stop for this defense and they might be able to put this thing away from the gun they're running back looking for room man that's the advantage of having a good coaching staff that teach these players in this type of situation with the lead late in the game you want to stay in the field of play and keep the clock ticking they do that after that nice run knocked down at the 37 it's a 5yd gain and enough to move the chains here comes the offense on First and 10 from the 47 smart move to keep it on the ground just has a knack of finding that crease and gets it down to the 41 6yd pickup on first down leaves him with second and four from the gun they'll give it on the inside that's what you expect from a senior don't give them any extra yards great tackle there now on third down after that run trying to pick it up on the ground crosses the 30 He Got Away really nice run there good solid pick up and they'll move the sticks for the first down no mystery on that play with the lead we are going to run the ball you know it's coming and we are running right at you right into the teeth of the defense and they're still able to get a nice game we reached a two-minute warning and this offense will be quite content just a drain the rest of the time away looking for a crease it's fields and a good solid pick up there before the defense knocks him down looks as if we have an injury on that last play and we'll take a break to check him out they can really be aggressive after that last play it's second and three the give to the tail back and he showed himself to be a regular Spinderella but not l a lot of room to run man down on the play as the officials take a break to let him be checked out they've been able to control the ball this is the seventh play of the drive it's third and three they'll try to power their way ahead they get him on the ground but not before he rumbles all the way to the five the Cowboys trying to get a touchdown on first and goal they'll try to get it in with the Run he step and powers and works his way they finally get him down at the two now the offense tries to punch it in on second and goal B tries again to get it in and he is stopped not getting close to the end zone line of scrimmage still at the three no matter how much college football changes realignment all of that kind of stuff rivalries are consistent and winning rivalry games well that's just the best because they hate each other so much so you take the field against your rival you're able to put forth a performance like that that is worth its weight and go David unbelievable effort here by the winning team and bragging rights now for a while bragging rights for a while it's it's a fun thing to be able to accomplish now we also got to take in the next couple games cuz this is always there's a let down that naturally happens after these big big
