say sooner born and sooner bred and when I die I'll be sooner dead welcome to Oklahoma and the home of the [Applause] [Music] sooner the Sooners will kick it away first [Applause] [Music] [Applause] but see what he can get done from inside his own 15 the Lobos offense will get the first possession of the game and here's the man they rally around and he has earned that type of respect David you dang right you earn it by doing it and he's done it at such a high level everyone believes in this young man and Palmer there's a reason why you're right David he's been in the big moments and he's won the big games this guy delivers when the game is on the line hard as he released the ball on that first down pass and it never had a chance you can barely hear yourself thinking here as they're trying to get this defense off to a good start drag down after a pick up of five out to the 35 and often times running backs love drop is because there's less traffic in front of them the offensive line is selling pass the quarterback's selling pass they don't get the hand off until the very last possible second so the D lines rushed away up field and now it's so much easier for these backs to find their holes and pick their Lanes Pockets starts to collapse and a missed opportunity on third down as the defense knocks it free and fourth down is coming up Lobos will send out the punt unit the punter going to get his first work of the afternoon wants to return it makes a move he's brought down but a really solid effort to pick up every bit of yardage good on the punt return the Sooners offense has its first opportunity of the day here are our impact players for this game and it goes beyond executing an assignment to make an impact in the game yeah obviously we were talking to both coaching staffs this week and we asked them who needs to step up and play well they immediately pointed to these guys right here they are the key for their respective teams yeah and they don't always show up in the Box SC but these are the guys of the leaders these are the guys getting everybody organized and have to play well for the their team to succeed throws to the wide out grabbed over the middle it's Anderson and the tackle is made but not before that completion gets them 30 plus they had hoped to come up with explosive plays and they used one there to set him up inside the 30 first and 10 and they'll finally get him down after a terrific pickup the Sooners trying to pay off the threat on first and goal back to throw it's Arnold into the end zone and it's caught touchdown Oklahoma well this offense is top 10 in the country at points per game because they've got a lot of speed and they've got home run hitters they scor fast they don't need 10 plays to go down the field you saw it right there they've recruited well they've got Playmakers they're going to be a problem for defenses all year long here he comes from inside of own five he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 now New Mexico will go back to work on offense wants to throw on first down off the play fake got his man downfield he's loose down the Rough Side touchdown New Mexico and once he got loose it was all over and what a nice start for this offense the throw game getting working getting a touchdown pass this quarterback getting a little bit of confidence this passing game getting in a rhythm nice start for this offense and we're all square as he set to kick it [Applause] away going for the [Music] return he stopped at the 23 a couple yards short of where he would have been with a Touchback so Oklahoma has it again and here comes the offense boy David they would love to stack another touchdown on top of that last drive and this offense did such a good job on the last Drive everything in Rhythm moved the ball down the field didn't make those mistakes Jesse and they need to do it again on this one yeah you're right they had the defense on their heels you wonder what sort of communication was going on that sideline what sort of changes were they able to make cuz they got to stop the bleeding right now looking for room it's sawchuck makes him man miss he showed it all there a little elusiveness a little power and he's got the first down that's a nice run this guy has it all doesn't he he has speed he has shiftiness and he has power the power reminds me of an old great sooner running back Marcus ji arguably one of the most going deep and it's knocked away downfield the DB getting a hand in there DB does an outstanding job here on the Deep pass locating the football no Pi able to swat it away pass incomplete grabbed in the middle it's all CH tackled almost immediately they're well short of the first down offenses don't like being in these situations they don't like having little success on first and second down cuz now you know I got to pass the football I got to air it out makes me really predictable so let's make sure you take care of the football and find those plays you really like throw to the tight end right on the money to the outside he dragged the toe and how about the ball placement only the receiver could get it and the Sooners getting set on First and 10 tackle is made after a pick up of six down to the 19 yd line I know the passing game sells the passing game is exciting but it's not exciting to get five or six yards a pop on the ground but it will be very successful got six on first down now a lot of options on second and four looking for a man it's Arnold ball in the air intercepted he was looking for room to return that but he'll just hand it to the offense they'll take over at the 18 looking for a productive play on first down makes the quick grab the quick passing game does several things one it doesn't let the pass rush get you those great defensive linemen the ball's coming out so fast they can't get there and then what else it gets me ahead of the sticks I don't have to worry about getting in Long yardage and predictable situations that pressure got to him and he just had to Chuck it out of bounds and how nice is it to have the home crowd flowing absolutely bananas communication is harder the the snapping the football everybody being on time man this crowd really affecting the football game shotgun snap on third down he's got the tight end good job r running that route to get past the sticks because he got nothing after the catch these routes have some reads and adaptability built in and the big fella found that cushion and made the play man it's so awesome how much offenses have evolved they know exactly what they're getting where to sit down quarterback tight end on the same page gets the first [Applause] down we have the early makings of a quarterback back duel as these stats will show you we'll get this quarter going with a second down [Applause] play from the gun the running back looking for room turns it on to Midfield what a good run there he has enough for the first down and the lbo are flying down the field the might as well give it to him again and the defense stops him just short of the first down maybe needed a few more chain links to move the sticks man when I can run the football like that on first down and create second and inches and stay way ahead of the sticks and and be in a position now where I can throw the football or run I will have a lot of success on the offensive side of the football second and very short here for the offense they'll try the Run globo let get it past the sticks that's just tough hard-nosed run you need one yard to get let the running back figure it [Applause] out they've got a first and 10 at the 34 back to pass it's Danier quarterback moving out of the pocket and he can find a receiver and down he goes and come on now oine you got to take care of your quarterback he takes care of you he's the one who takes you to meals he's the ones that get you those nil deals everything happens through your quarterback you got to keep him upright that is your number one priority FSE start so the decision has been made and the coach will take the penalty second down coming up it's a draw just a solid stop by this sophomore the Run game just has not been working for this offense all game long we saw it on that last play as well just not getting enough push up front on the offensive line they haven't been physical enough oh they really could have used that patch their physical pass defense it brings up a fourth down and the Lobo send out the punt unit this will be the second time they've had to kick it [Applause] away pretty solid coverage there and they'll stop him at the 26 guys we'll get another look at this Oklahoma offense boy they had that last Drive moving a little bit David but then the mistake just crushed them yeah those mistakes are going to happen you're going to throw the football you're going to throw interceptions but I think I stay aggressive with this offense I get back to what I did in the first part of that drive what made me successful I agree David just turn the page if you're a quarterback right on this drive you did a lot of good things there leading up to that pick he's got it down the right side and they'll do more than move the chains they'll move that thing more than 30 yds down the field before he's finally stopped after that huge play they've now got it inside the 30 it's first and 10 and a really nice run and pick up there before the defense avoided disaster and stopped the really big play the Sooners have it with a first and 10 they've marched to the Red Zone and here they go got the Quick Pass they make the stop after the catch and still some work to do to pick up that first down operating in the Red Zone here on second down gets rid of it makes the grab and the defense able to drag him down but not before they'll recycle that down marker looking downfield it's Arnold it's complete and he'll run out of bounds just short of the goal iine wanted to get it in but couldn't quite get home second down here and maybe they've got time to get one more snap off before the two-minute warning we'll take a quick break here two minutes to play in the first half he'll just keep slinging it reels it in in the end zone touchdown sooner and the extra point is true and they're on top by seven about to kick it away after scoring the [Applause] touchdown coming out with it it's Miller stopped at the 17 and he's probably second guessing that return let's see what the Lobos offense has in store Man David that last drive an exercise in frustration just couldn't pay it off with the score yeah and I I think this defense is riding the bend but don't break velocity don't give up explosive plays this offense Jesse has to find your way to manufacture some big plays and some scoring opportunities man I don't know if they're going to win David if they have to keep driving 8 10 12 plays you're right you got to find chunk plays somewhere so identify the guys that can score touchdowns and get them the ball quickly to the tight end and he's still running after the move and he earns a first down and boy did he earn it after taking that lift and that's good up for first down they'll throw it on first down got it in the middle it's Jacobs they make the stop right there good pickup and still short of the first down the hurry up now second down clock kicking he's looking to throw firing to the right complete and he'll pick up the first down but he got drilled on that tackle all the way down at the 3 three yd line it's first and 10 he wants to throw catch in the middle it's Miller throw a little hitch route that's job getting the ball out of his hands quickly wide receiver quarterback nice job being on the same page nice completion nice catch on second down just keeps firing working the middle it's complete and he's tripped up but not before picking up the first down the lals have taken it inside the 20 from the Red Zone looking for a space got it in the middle it's dorsy a timeout is called as this offense tries to find a way to get more points on the board before the half going to work on second down in the red zone is still some ground to cover to pick up that first down he's looking to throw caught over the middle it's Jacob they'll get it down to the 8 yd line on that throw and catch and the defense is backed up against the wall not a lot of ground to cover and not much to defend a big third down in the Red Zone they'll try to get the first through the air and the misconnection on third down third and short in college football today you see so much more pass than you used to the offense stays aggressive and I think they stay aggressive because they know they're in F goal range they got that three in their back pocket and the kicker delivers the three to salvage that drive that makes the score okoklahoma so they put the field goal on the board and about to kick it away and hoping that'll be the final points of this first half and he takes this from inside the five he gets a block they bring him down but not before a really good return sets up this offense in solid field position here comes the Oklahoma offense how about that last drive just carved him up in the air David yeah and how about that quarterback you he's loose slippery slide find his way and ran away from the crowd into the end zone touchdown okahoma this offense is so good man they can hurt you in so many different ways and they do it so quick so explosive they can put small Drives together big Drives together they've really had a great year and that's why they're a top 10 offense and the return man has no place to run no place to hide and a place to be tackled looking to move it through the air fires to the right pass on the way it's picked off didn't find much room on the return but now they are in business and pois to strike from the 25 the offense lining up for a first down play uncor one and this will be incomplete a big hit there for second down the offense will have to use its first time out of the half Oklahoma to throw it's Arnold unleashes one deep and they can't quite hook up trying to make the completion in the back corner of the end zone running out of time here in the first half they're going to have to be efficient to put some points on the board before the break receiver looks it in it's complete he's run out of fouls but not of four turning in a big pickup and moving the sticks for a first down just enough time to get off one final play of the half receivers telling the quarterback what they see he's looking to throw it pressure coming pass is incomplete and half comes to a close on that play we played two quarters here time to go to Kevin Connor in our halftime update guys you've been calling a lively one from Norman so far each of these two offenses has looked like well-oiled machines but it doesn't take a genius to figure out these two passing attacks have run circles around these defenses man or Zone nothing seems to be working and I'm not sure that defensive coordinator is going to be able to figure things out here at halftime and with that let's head back to Oklahoma and Memorial Stadium thanks for that halftime report Kevin here's the return from inside his tent he was looking for more Running Room but none to be found as he stopped at the 23 here comes the sooner offense back onto the Field opening play of this drive will come from their own 23 trying to set the tone on the ground in the second half really nice job to squirt his way up to the 31 yd line nyd pickup on first down and now they can take a shot on second and short he'll try it again the Sooners get enough for the first down all right nothing flashy there he just did what it took to get the first down ball is at the 35 it's first and 10 unloads to the wide out how about getting the foot down on that throw for the big completion and the Sooners will snap it on First and 10 wants to throw it's Arnold tight end getting vertical moving closer to the Red Zone it's at the 27 on first down he's going to pass a shot toward the end zone and he's got it touchdown sooner no step back in week three they have been sharp as they extend the lead and the extra point sails through for a 2810 lead lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown drive on the move from inside is five he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic but they get him on the ground at the 20 let's see what the robo's offense has dialed up this time well the good news about this drive Jesse it can't go worse than last time through a pick on the first play no it certainly can't I think one good way David to help your quarterback Turn the Page is just find him an easy completion here him get back into a r yeah or find him an easy hand off just hand the football off maybe get the ground game going maybe jump start this offense a little bit looking for a crease it's Jacobs he got a bunch and look close to getting a lot more but he's got the first down here's this offense with a fresh set of [Applause] downs they'll give it to him again and he does does a really nice job finding open space and making a good gain before the stop is made good spot after that seven yd pickup on first down it's second and three they'll go to the ground at the 35 he's got room finally run out of bounds but he has this offense rolling with a first down out 21 been showing them the run now they'll throw it a shot toward the end zone fires a fullet now it's picked off and he's brought down and this defense gets the ball backto and another mistake from this quarterback that's backto back drives now that have resulted in interceptions he's got to find a way to find something different get in a better Rhythm start seeing the field better Palmer cuz he's not in a flow right now no David it looks like he's forcing the football a little bit maybe trying to make up for that interception he threw on the last drive but that last play there was no way that football should have gone there he could have gotten off of that and checked it down or thrown it away this quarterback he need hit the afterburners kid he's inside the 40 running inside the 20 touchdown okahoma and the Ping has started I mean let's go that's a day worth of yards right there on one carry the home run hitter takes the snap gets the football he does the rest shows off the Speed taking it 90 plus yards through the house he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 we will get another look at this New Mexico offense after throwing the pick on the last drive need to take care of the ball this time Jesse we're going to find out a lot about this quarterback right here too how does he fight through adversity after that last Drive yeah clear the mechanism move on that's a part of it if you're going to be a great player you got to learn how to handle these mistakes and move on the offense showing motion from the tight end trying to get a read on the d off the play fake on first down to throw and they took a shot on that one but couldn't make the connection it's incomplete after the misconnection it's second down we on the ground it's [Applause] Jacobs third down conversions are a huge stat and this one would be a dooy if they can pull it off here's the snap itching to fire downfield they'll run the screen at the 45 on it way big big gain on that one as he steps out of bounds with a first down and the Lobos are on the move at the 28 and first down for the offense he'll try to pop the draw and he's brought down after a solid gain and that'll be the final play of the third quarter these two quarterbacks have produced as we check out their numbers after three the big pickup on first down leaves him with second and one out of the gun the running back has it he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three already in Chip Shot field goal range at the 21 but this third and short they're still thinking touchdown to the air it's dampier fires to the wide out and that's incomp complete a Defender all over him knock the ball to the ground fourth down coming up coach has no choice here the offense has to stay on the field down multiple possessions this leate fourth down attempt coming really nice job there by both guys to throw and the catch to work that defense and get the first down movement here from the tight end the give to the tail back Relentless tough running gets it down to the four going to work in the Red Zone they can pick up the first down without getting it into the end zone they go to the ground and he takes it to the house touchdown Loos Precision blocking up front created the open Lane and the running back followed it beautifully yeah it's pretty easy to follow an offensive line that makes those holes and just gives you a caravan all the way to the end zone what an unbelievable job blocking up front they're down big but they'll keep fighting to The Bitter End and line up for the onsite kick here looks as that the hands team will be able to recover the ball now the Oklahoma offense will go back to work this has been exactly the way you draw things up David the offense has really been moving the football and it's been great execution they've done exactly what they wanted to do build the lead and now Palmer an animal now you got to protect you can tell they were paying attention in practice this week in the film room because they have gone out everybody right now in the same page finds his man it's AA they make the stop at the 5 yd line but they've got it first and goal he's been so locked in it seems like pass called as a guaranteed chunk play yeah and winning late like this in the ball game keep trusting him keep spinning you know why because stats matter late in the game you want some postseason Awards keep chucking it touchdown sooner and The Stomping has commenced they tackle a little more onto this lead and they're on their way to a three and0 start [Applause] now on second [Applause] down running back goes in motion looking to throw it's Arnold he's going up top and he makes the catch inside the 20 that's where they'll Mark him they play there to pick up a first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs just inside the Red Zone first and 10 from the 19 they'll keep it on the ground they want this clock to move headed to the end zone touch they won the game today that's two in a row if they win the
