Fenway Bowl Miami vs #15 Tulane

hello and welcome to Boston Massachusetts home to the Freedom Trail the heart of the American Revolution and we are here to find out who will end their season on a high note as champions of the Fenway bowl while this game caps off the regular season how that season is remembered will be impacted greatly by what happens in this game as we'll see a squad from the ACC the Miami Hurricanes taking on the 15th rank team in the land the two- Lane Green wve for EA Sports time college football I'm ree Davis David poock and Jesse Palmer with me guys it's time to get it [Applause] [Applause] going kickoff team out there ready to tee it up and get this bow game underway and he takes this from inside the five he was looking for more Running Room but none to be found as he stopped at the 23 so the Miami Hurricane offense will take the field to get things started and here's the manand they rally around and he has earned that type of respect David you dang right you earn it by doing it and he's done it at such a high level everyone believes in this young man in Palmer there's a reason why you're right David he's been in the big moments and he's won the big games this guy delivers when the game is on the line looking for a productive play on first down he'll put the tight end in motion now they'll run it to the right here he had all kinds of company as soon as he got and he had to fight his way back just to get to the line of scrimmage got stuffed on first down it's second and 10 they'll turn to Martinez just enough there to get it to the 25 they pick up of two oh man there's some big hitting going on in the trenches right now this defense they take a lot of pride in stopping the Run let's keep our eye on them throughout the course of the game and see if they can contain this running attack on Third and long he has to throw for it caught in the back field it's Martinez he ended up going backwards on the play and they will not convert that third down the canes will try to pin them back with the punt first time we've seen their punt team this afternoon he'll bring it back it's Rogers that Nifty return sets up the offense in negates some of the yardage on the punt so tain's offense will take the field for the first time here are our impact players for this game and it goes beyond executing an assignment to make an impact in the game yeah obviously we were talking to both coaching staffs this week and we asked them who needs to step up and play well they immediately pointed to these guys right here they are the key for their respective teams yeah and they don't always show up in the Box Score but these are the guys are the leaders these are the guys getting everybody organized and have to play well for their team to succeed they're trying to get to it fires to the tight end great veteran presence in the pocket he knew he was going to take a hit on that one and now on second down for this offense trying to beat him to the corner on the right and he's tripped up but not before picking up the first down and you're trying to get the ball to you're running back in space and really good job tossing it on the perimeter what do you need you need to set the edge you got to do a good job with your offensive line and then you need perier blocking out wide to hold their own do a good job hold the own nice positive game nice positive toss up well the offensive line had everybody blocked except the defensive end he was able to sneak into the back field and get the tackle for couldn't get him blocked on that last one now it's second and 14 Thompson wants to throw quickly out to the tight end they make the stop but not before he takes a chunk out of what they need to move the sticks well a nice completion there finding the tight end and what's so beautiful about that is while they didn't get the first they were able to pick up enough yards now to make the third down manageable really putting this offense in a good position on Third and long try to convert through the air unleashes one deep and makes the grab in the end zone touchdown to Lane and what a ni start for this offense the throw game getting working getting the touchdown pass this quarterback getting a little bit of confidence this passing game getting in a rhythm nice start for this [Music] offense they'll try to add another to their lead and the extra point makes it 7 nothing a very efficient five play scoring drive and the finisher courtesy of that touchdown toss from 45 ydd out on the move from inside is five and the returner is Stu and the Miami off will take here comes the hurricane offense looking to gather a little more strength the last time we saw this offense we had to look quick it was a three and out Jesse he just had no ribbon in that last drive so someone's going to have to to step up and make a play David and get this thing going yeah let's find some juice find your guy find those plays that you know you can run inside out forward backwards get some first downs get some positive momentum line getting set on second [Applause] down defense going to jam these receivers right off the line didn't get much done on that run he'll fight his way out and maybe maybe pick up a yard if they can convert here that type of play can really give you a shot out of momentum third and long and he'll try to throw for it quickly complete and he's not going to get there the defense Stands Tall and makes the Stop and the caves send out the punt unit this will be the second time they've had to kick it away he make the Stop and that it's exactly what you want out of your punt cover unit Twain has it back and the offense coming out to go on the attack that last touchdown Drive was surgical through the air Jesse it sure was and that's why this offense is so dangerous David because they can score in a hurry because of how efficient they are throwing the football and welcome to Modern college football that's what it is spread you out find my Playmakers make quick decisions and really put defenses in a difficult situation after picking up a couple it's second and eight Thompson to throw finds his tight end still on his feet at the 45 and he was loose and in the open field and on his way a tremendous pick up on that one well I know the tight end did some good things after the catch but got to give the quarterback credit too for the location of the throw because he put it out in front of his big man he was able to make the catch and accelerate creating some distance there between him and the defense David given the fact that you are devoted helmet head I'm not sure that you're aware there are a lot of other festivities around the bowl game did you ever experience any of that of course I'm a helmet head get a spot on agree with that but here's the thing we did a meat eating contest at the Outback Bowl my senior year which Squad could eat more steak from Outback it was absolutely amazing so I experienced that in all of its Glory feeling some heat pulls it in it's Williams and they reacted well to the completion but it was too late to keep him from getting the first down this defense has got to be better in coverage you want to get off the field you got to keep defending you got to do something to make the offense feel uncomfortable so far way too easy for this offense from the Red Zone it's Hughes made a little something out of that Ronnie picked up a couple down to the 14 well guys B season is here always fun to get these non-traditional matchups That You Don't See regularly what do you guys remember about playing in a bowl I think you remember all the moments throughout the season and throughout your career and it's the last time that you ever get these group of individuals together you say goodbye to so many people and and it's kind of Bittersweet but always fun Jesse uh to do to dance with your boys one last time but another thing too I love the Swag Bags personally I love getting the gifts yeah I mean to me David really it was thinking about the tradition in history of these bowl games I think that's one of the best things about college football we're in an era today where bowl games don't matter matter as much as they did back when you and I played but it was special to take the field with your guys one more time but playing in games that had so much history unsuccessful second down and now I'm immediately thinking I got a little bit more than I want so what are my pass plays what am I going to get into here offensively try to have success on third down this whole red zone offense thing has been a little shaky they've been stopped twice already maybe they ought to try to score from Deep they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one here comes the field goal unit as they'll try to get the three he'll boot it from the left side and from this distance that angle ought to be fairly easy never a doubt right down the middle and that lead grows even bigger so after putting three on the board the kickoff team is out there ready to boot it away here he comes from inside his own five he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 and here comes that Miami offense back onto the field boy three and out last time David they'd like to be more productive this time around yeah in the last Drive nothing really quick no rhythm got off the field really really quickly they need to put something together here yeah David bad execution on that last drive so they got to take a collect itive breath and start playing like a unit on this drive after the three- yd pickup they come to the line Second and seven touch pass on the Jet Sweep not much there picks up a couple to the 22 now on third down after that run looking to throw it's Ward how about that play to get a hand in there and force the incompletion and the hurricane will putt this one away it's on the move it's Rogers he only needs a sliver of daylight he'll be guided out of bounds but not before a Nifty return on that one good field position to start this drive at their own [Music] 47 trying to to start the drive with a pass fires to the wide out all kinds of room to throw that one in there and he can't hold on to the ball at the end of this big game this should be the last play of the quarter using his legs it's Hughes nowhere to run on that one he loses four on the car guys the quarter comes to a close and Tain has the lead here really strong performance so far to be able to build a lead here in the first period as we look at the stats they largely dominated the first quarter and built a nice lead to get [Music] started we'll get this quarter going with a second down play snap it to the back makes the tackle at the 31 it's a pick up of five on the play listen I know that's not a huge game those run plays add up they make you tackle the back every single play physically you have to get some guy on the ground that takes its toll throughout a fourth quarter game now on fourth down they'll send out the field goal unit well they've already made one the holder will put it down at the 38 for a 48 yd attempt just drives in between the uprights and that will extend their lead even further after putting three on the board the kickoff unit ready to go no chance return that one a booming kickoff out of the back of the end zone it's a Touchback here comes the hurricane offense looking to gather a little more strength off play action on first down and he was hit just as he released it and it falls to the turf after the incompletion it's second and 10 from their own 25 out of the shotgun they go to the ground not much doing there he gets it to the 26 a gain of one somebody needs to make a play here it's third and long from the 26 back to throw it's Ward and the misconnection on third down every defense in the country talks about getting offenses in predictable third and long situations where I can bring on more speedsters and I know the pass is coming so I can have have more success and the punt team able to smack him to the ground the Tain offense headed back onto the field they've got the lead here last time they settled for a field goal but David got to find that balance between being aggressive and careful and I think they'll take that I got the lead Palmer I got the football I got to take care of the football put a nice drive together and just get some kind of points on this drive no doubt lock to be happy about right now if you're this team I think for this one though on this drive it's about finding the one-on-one matchups that are in your favor and then exploit it they'll go back to the air on second down just a short pass to the tight end and he's able to shed one tackle and gets a pretty good pickup passing game very effective on second down what about here on third from the gun the running back has it they tried to go Smashmouth on Third and short and it did not work against this defense keep the foot on the pedal if you're on offense here you got that yardage yeah you didn't get the first down but you've set yourself up now to go for it here and keep this drive alive and they're running out the kicker to give it a try that is no good after the Miss field goal this lead still sitting at 13 1 Miami and here comes that Miami offense back onto the field their Drive chart is starting to look a little monotonous punt punt punt David and their defense is starting to get a little frustrated too they just keep putting me back on the field possession after possession Jesse this offense needs to get their heads out of there you know what the punters on the sideline with the oxygen maxk right now he's been playing so much he's not used to this this offense they just got to stay on the field they got to put it d drive together and get some balance going running and throwing the ball they'll give it on the counter they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one offense trying to go with some misdirection in the Run game to the boundary but the defense was there they're able to Coral the back behind the line of scrimmage for a loss they're about to wear this punter out he's already been out four times staring at a if they can't move the chains can't make the connection on third down thanks to that tough hard-nosed pass defense and now it's Fourth Down the Hurricanes will send out the punt unit they may have to pay him overtime he's punting for the fifth time today no return coming he'll call for the fair catch Twain has it back in the offense coming out to go on the attack we talked about settling for points but sometimes when you have to settle for nothing David it can be demoralizing yeah and it can definitely be frustrating and I think it leads you to say maybe I go for it more but Jesse I think this offense just needs to put another drive together and just finish Stronger Yeah and and be a little bit less predictable too es going to let it fly makes the grab inside the 30 a huge gain on that one before he ran out of Val and he has the first down I love when you back the defense off me if you want to get aggressive I'll take shots down the field make the defense play more concerned and now what now you're in the Red Zone with a chance to get some points his offense thrives on those big explosive plays and that one has them set up with the first and 10 from the 17 and a nice run there before the defense final makes the stop one thing I've noticed from talking to coaches about their approach to bowl games is how many of them use it as a springboard for next season they try to focus on developing some of the new guys maybe that have joined them for the Bowl practices I mean you get and he'll finish the run in the end zone touchdown Green Wave and this offense is clicking another touchdown didn't have to go far for this drive but this offense is doing what they want want how they want when they want lining up to tack one more onto that lead and the extra point is good and the lead moves to 20 quick strike offense on that three-play scoring drive and what a way to finish it with a 9yd touchdown run and he'll just take a knee and this drive will start at the 25 here comes the hurricane offense looking to gather a little more strength they just haven't been able to get anything going and they better get started or it's going to get away from them David yeah and these are the weeks that you really wish that you would play After Burner coming and what a huge chunk play for this offense just exactly what you need to move the ball down the field we didn't have to work very hard on that one there was nobody in sight as he rips off a massive run sort of a mark of Excellence for any back his yard after contact well yards before contact can be sort of a badge of honor for that o line yeah let's give them some credit they got tremendous push getting hats on hats they made that easy lost one on that last one it's second and 11 the hand to the running back and those physical runs take a toll it might not be a big game now but down the road third fourth quarter late in the ball games they tend to turn into bigger runs they're close enough for a takeable field goal from the 26 but they'd love to convert this third and long lets it fly deep downfield throw into the end zone and it's picked off you know the best free saves I ever played against were the ones that just have a six sense it's like they know where the ball is going and they can just bait the quarterback into trying to make throws that they never have a chance of making that's what that guy did right there he baited the QB into a bad decision and made him pay not much working there it'll be second and nine and sticking to the run I tell you what a lot of teams that are really good are really stubble and they continue to run the football even with little success so this offense is going to continue to focus on running the football you can tell we've reached a two-minute warning and they will try to build on what has already been a dominant first half performance they'll go right back to the Run what a good run there he has enough for the first down and a great job on the offensive line if you're going to run the ball right at the middle you better control the line of scrimming you can see the center of the Guard tackles doing a good job getting on their guys just enough where this running back can get in the space and make the big game on the run it's Hughes that's what you expect from a senior don't give them any extra yards great tackle there you know it's so important for offenses to want to keep third Downs manageable the way you do that is by having success like that running the football on first down receivers telling the quarterback what they [Applause] see got it in the middle it's Roger and good coverage by the defense just a short game and quarterback driving back understanding I'm getting Zone coverage all I got to do is be a little bit patient manipulate that defense a little bit my wide receiver runs that drag and I get the first down got the Quick Pass he steps out of bounds but it will be enough for a first down just a few seconds remaining here as they try to put something up before halftime going up top on first down right down the middle complete downfield and they'll finally catch up to him but not before a big chunk of yardage is picked up quick timeout call by the offense after the play [Music] [Applause] just enough time for one final play of the half used the play fake now to throw going for it all and it's an incomplete pass on the Deep shot but the flag is down let's check the and the defender just way too handsy on that last play could see all the contact as the ball was in the air you simply can't do it and the referee's caught and it's no good really had a chance to stretch it out there but I think they'll live with a 20p point lead we played two quarters here time to go to Kevin Connor in our halftime update three hard not to enjoy that incredibly historic town what a fun time to be in Boston and what a fun first half we've had in the Fenway Bowl not going to risk a return here he'll make the fair catch the Tain offense headed back onto the field they more than got the job done in the first half now the job in a b game don't get distracted and finish the deal here in the second half I mean love the way they came out they all that time off didn't look Rusty at all came out with the foot on the accelerator looked really really good Palmer he's just more of the same here in the second half I agree and if you're on that sideline right now now's not the time to be thinking about the off seon your strength program what classes you're taking in the spring you need to focus on finishing this game and punctuating this season they get him on the ground after he gets enough to move the sticks offenses when they run these rpos they just want to be comfortable the quarterback wants to make the read very easy very clean it's your job as a defense to kind of create some confusion speed up that process any way you can he's going to pass quickly to the tight end and it is a good idea to gang tackle first guy couldn't get him second guy finally did Here Comes Tain after picking up the first down first for the off from the gun give on the inside it's just so nice to know you can start off on first down with positive PRS positive yards hand the football off set up a good second down after the productive first down play it's second and six C in the back field it's Rogers he almost picked up the first down on that one but he'll be just a little bit short I love offenses and quarterbacks that are willing to take the stuff take those easy throws that are guaranteed to get positive yards yeah I'm going to take big shots down the field too but don't forget it's easier to pick up second and five third and five and it is when we start getting those long yard situations that'll be enough for the first down as they mark it down at the 31 yd line a lot of times when you think about speed back speed speed speed you think on the edge you don't think in between the tackles you don't think about breaking tackles they try to break your ankles the problem is when you're trying to run there as fast as you POS Poss can a lot of times you don't get to put a good hit on him and in turn you see he breaks tackles and make big plays coaches always harp about staying ahead of the chains and when you can run with that type of efficiency on first down man you are doing just that got six on first down now a lot of options on second and [Applause] four from the gun they'll give it on the inside he got a bunch and look close to getting a lot more but he's got the first down it's a really nice job of the offense mixing it up on this drive we've seen some nice plays throwing it how about that one running it too great push up front inside the 15 first and 10 from the 14 from the Red Zone looking for a receiver quick strike complete they'll get it down to the8 yd line on that throw and catch and the defense is backed up against the wall a nice job by the defense they're tackling the catch and smothering the tight end they know this offense is going to try to find him in the passing game in a lot of different situations that time perfect coverage and nice job bringing the big guy down not easy to do going to work in the Red Zone they can pick up the first down without getting it into the end zone he'll pick up three before he's down at the six number third down coming they'd love to pick up this third down get a fresh set with first and goal motion trying to get the defense to show its hand on Third and short trying to impose their will and move the chains nowhere to run on that when he loses four on the carry they'll try to get something out of this drive and kick the field goal here on fourth down it's good he hit that one right down the middle and now the lead is even bigger they're really starting to extend that lead as they get ready to kick it away again again he'll Darth the return inside his [Applause] five and here comes that Miami offense back onto the field that last Drive was promising for a while but you just can't mess it up at the end with the pick Jesse no you got to be able to finish drives especially in this game if you're going to win in David they've got to be able to eliminate the metal mistakes yeah and I don't think you get conserved or play safe you can trust your guy I think you put the ball right back in his hands and let him do his thing trying the left side that may not look like a huge run but they'll take it as it gets him up to the 24 and a nice job by the running back finding space getting downhill making the good run great job finishing with his pads and this offense can ill afford to come up empty on this drive already trailing by multiple possessions on third and short they'll go to the power running game and that stiff arm is a weapon for this Runner he uses it and picks up a first down now on First and 10 from the 29 looking for a physical attack from the gun they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one you know defensively you live by the Blitz and you die by the blitz that time they dialed it up into the Run play and the linebacker able to make a nice tackle takes down his hand off and headed to the right they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one and it wasn't lack of effort by the running back he was trying you could tell he fought one guy off but another guy in his face right away just trying to do something the offensive line needs to do a better job keeping some guys off his guy come on man take care of your he off one deep down the left side and it goes through his hands oh he had an explosive play right there for the taking couldn't reel it in and the canes will call on their punt team they're up to a half dozen kicks today he's got great speed and the returner will be brought down Tain has it back in the offense coming out to go on the attack so last time David they ate up some clock ran a bunch of plays but settle for the field goal yeah but they're still up Rees and I like where I'm at and if I'm on offense right now my job is to put another long drive together eat more clock and get another score just got to be better in the Red Zone this time around when they get down close to the goal line you need better execution put a touchdown on the board here and here comes the offense on second down gets it out fast they make the stop trying to pick up just a little bit at a time to get to that first down marker this quarterback right now is an improved he's doing a nice job in priestap he's reading the coverage and he's getting an idea of where he wants to and the quarterback is sacked there are penalty Flags down but this might be doubly bad for the offense I think the penalty might be on that so the penalty will not be enforced that he has declined stands on the result of the play Tain forced to send out the punt unit first time today we've seen a punter go to work fair catch called for and [Applause] made first down here for the offense [Music] [Applause] makes the grab down the middle and a good job in coverage there as they stop it after just a few really nice job by the quarterback understanding I needed to throw this ball hard like I got to fit it in there tight and a nice job by the wide receiver wearing it cuz he really didn't have a choice cuz he was going to wear that one with regardless got it behind the line it's Martinez didn't pick up a lot there moved it Forward just a few yeah and you see running backs in today's football they play a wide receiver basically for you but you got to find a guy that you can throw it to and you know he's going to catch the ball consistently dances away from one he'll have enough to move the change it's first down at the 38 and I don't care if I get it by two by 20 by 30 by 40 I I just I just want to get the first down understanding the situation understanding where the sticks are doesn't have to be sexy but I got to make sure I get to that stick get to the first down Mar Mark they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one how about the defender being a heat seeking missile he was on radar lock he found the football and flew down with some bad intentions they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one with time winding down in the quarter as they come to the line on Third and long he'll have to turn it loose deep caught in the back field it's stpo and as they get him to the ground clock running looks as if time will expire here in the [Music] third guys the quarter comes to a close and Tain has the lead here and they are starting to pull away as we come to the end of the third quarter let's take a look at how we got [Applause] here one more quarter to go and it looks as if we are ready to play Down by multiple possessions they can't come up empty on this drive in the fourth quarter they'll go for it on fourth down grabbed in the middle it's George he was running through tackles and picked up the first down and finally got knocked down the offense has struggled they're not going to win this game but trust me this coaching staff is still trying to find things to build off of for next week and after an explosive play like that maybe they can generate just a little bit of momentum and gain a little bit of confidence that they can keep C and there was nowhere to go for this quarterback and down he goes the and this defense came to play they know about the high-profile QB they Rose to the challenge and dominated the competition today they took care of business and they made no doubt about who's the better football team and the pass is incomplete Jarred Loose by the hit well a lot of things haven't gone right for him you saw an incompletion right there it's been offense it's been defense they just haven't been able to click and get into a rhythm here and now they're playing catch up and you know they're going to be throwing at each and every play here in the fourth quarter he lobs one high down the left side and they won't be able to connect downfield looking for a big time Play Down by multiple possessions you can't come up empty on this drive they'll go for it on fourth down catch in the middle it's a Royo he will not get it a four down stop for this defense as they try to Salt this one away the Tain offense headed back onto the field they'll have another opportunity to extend this lead after punting last time David and it's important to put that punt behind you it's it's over let it go get back to what you were doing that built this lead PA yeah and defense obviously they won a few Downs uh that last drive so we got to put them on their heels here maybe mix up a few Personnel groupings and try to show them some pictures they haven't seen yet the officials offer the deal and the coach accepts it they will take the penalty here comes the offense on first down they'll run the option he'll toss it and he's a real nowhere and tackled in this no gain land boy there wasn't much room to wiggle for that running back there none at all great job by the defense getting the Back Field quickly closing up all the holes nowhere to Mo second down coming [Applause] up leaves it with the back really nice stop there from this senior leader the big defensive tackles in the middle they're not always the best pass rushers but they are strong and I say country SC they put their hands on you you feel it they lock people out on the line of scrimmage they create separation they wrap running backs up and usually they don't get out of the midst of those big boys and sure tackling there to keep him from getting to the first down marker Tain forced to send out the punt unit this will be the second time they've had to kick it away and the punt team gets down there and touches it dead that's where they'll put it in play here comes the hurricane offense looking to gather a little more strength the corners are walked up tight and he got a hand in there knocks it away incomplete incomplete and that's just the kind of game that's been for this quarterback in this offense you got a great game plan all week long you're watching it throughout practice you think you're going to have a chance to light up the scoreboard but they're just not able to hook up you got to give this defense a ton of credit they've done a great job in coverage they've been breaking on pass they've had their number and that's why they're leading by as much as they are they'll try to move the chains on Third and short from the 25 looking to throw it's Ward throws to the wide out and they can't make the play on third down and it's just been that kind of day for this quarterback in this offense guys they have never been able to get into a rhythm throwing the football timing's been off accuracy hasn't been great we've seen some drops just not in sync that's why they find themselves trailing by a lot right here L they spun that Wheel of Fortune on fourth down and come up bankrupt running behind that left side they make the stop but there is a flag on the field we'll see what that's all about holding holding penalties the ultimate Drive killer we'll see if it cost this offense here line gets set first down little touch pass to the receiver and they'll bring him down after a short Pickup Man Down on the play as the officials take a break to let him be checked out ran the ball on first down let's see what they do on second now the quarterback changing the original play call wide receiver coming across in motion quick pass on the Fly motion shakes off a tackle and that defense is there to guide him out of bounds after a short gain and guys they really need to make something happen on this third and long he's looking down field to throw unloads to the wide out good quickness to grab it off the deflection The Tackle is made but he's got it first and goal from the six well they say the bounce is eventually even out but they've been pretty much one-sided today and the defense needs something to happen so bad you're you're in a deficit already you you get your hands on a football and the offense still makes the play that is so demoralizing for this team well they want to come out and try to get the Run game established but up front defensively they made a play they gave up nothing on that one got to find some breathing room if you're going to establish yourself on the ground and there wasn't any that time yeah ree I wonder now if this offense is maybe going to try to get to the perimeter of the field and see if they can use their your speed to hurt this defense and you hear about run blitzes this is exactly what a run blitz is when you know the ball's coming up the middle you want to bring those linebackers get them closer to the line of scrimmage and fire right when the ball sna he's coming downhill doing a good job creating the loss that linebacker really knew what was going on so here comes the field goal unit again this kicker has already made three in this one oh the attempt is no good guys after the Miss field goal the weed is still 23 they'll start this drive with a pass got his man quickly smashes him with the stiff arm ripped off a huge shark play on that one as he gets the first down before he steps out of bounds here's this offense with a fresh set of downs wants to throw it's Ward fires left he's got it wrestled to the ground after picking up the first down the C moving quickly to the [Music] line they'll throw it on first down going for the big play snags it stopped at the three but it'll be enough to give them a first and goal the offense threatening posted the end zone now with a new set of downs he'll set up to throw unleashes to the end zone and he can't find his man as he was trying to pay off this Red Zone opportunity got to give this defense credit guys because all game long they have forced their opponent to be onedimensional they haven't allowed anything to happen in the passing game as a result we're here in the fourth quarter they barely allowed over a 100 yards pass and he's sprinting he'll take it all the way touchdown Kan the defense knew coming into this game they were going to have their hands full not only do they have to worry about these running backs in the running game they had to worry about the quarterback as well on n runs and on scrambles they didn't have an answer for him right there he's not going to make it in and the decision to go for two does not work out the deficit is huge this one is all but over the they'll keep trying and line up for the onside kick the defense uses their second timeout of the half as they try to get their act together they're down big but they'll keep fighting to The Bitter End and line up for the onside kick here not much drives more anxiety than waiting to see if the hands team can Cor the onside kick and they do first down here with time for maybe one more play until the two-minute [Music] warning touch pass on the r and he'll pick up one it brings up second and nine we reached the two-minute warning and this offense will be quite content just to drain the rest of the time away they'll line up for a second down play they'll run it they want to take their time here and he broke one tackle on the way to a solid pickup there well we are winding it down guys only a few more plays left in this season also wrapping up a really outstanding performance for this offense yeah and they're sending out the seniors on the right foot guys we've seen a lot of great football there was so many tremendous moments of individual efforts David this is a year in college football I know I'll never forget won't forget it loved working with you guys L being in the booth love covering these football games and I tell you what a lot of excitement in college football surrounding the sport man let's just keep loving on it offense calls a timeout here critically important to make sure they have the right play called and everyone on the same page here Tain forced to send out the punt unit he'll try target with that last pass now it's second and medium he's looking to throw he's going up top here late in the game and the incomplete pass taking a shot on second down and they'll be left with a third down trying to pick up a first down on third down he drops to throw he wants a big play here late picked off looking for more room and they capitalized not only on the pick but on the great return to improve this field position keep up them pass rushers bringing them DBS that's what I'm doing in this situation when I got the lead by a couple scores late in the ball game in the fourth quarter I'm going to rush the passer like crazy I'm going to put all those DBS back playing the pass that's what happened great job understanding they're going to have to take shots we get the interception this one's almost over a strong methodical workmanlike effort from this team No Frills just get the job done and get the win I love when you describe my teams like that just consistent
