YOU GOT TO SAY HI TO STAY COOL. THIS IS THE HOTTEST DAY OF THTHE HEAT WAVE, SO PLAN ACCORDINGLY. STRONG STORM CHANCES FARTHER TO THE NORTH, BUT EVEN MORE SO INTO THE DAKOTAS. EVEN MINNESOTA, A BETTER CHANCE FOR SOME STRONGER STORMS. AND THEN RELIEF FROM THE HEAT. YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE TO WAIT A LITTLE BIT. WE'RE NOT GOING TO SEE ANY OF THOSE LOWER HUMIDITY LEVELS UNTIL WE GET MORE. SO BY FRIDAY, THAT'S WHEN THERE WILL ACTUALLY BE REALLY NOTICEABLE WEST DES MOINES SKYCAM. IT IS GOING TO BE ANOTHER HOT AND HUMID ONE AS WE SEE TEMPERATURES RIGHT NEAR 77 DEGREES. THE FEEL LIKE TEMPERATURES TACKING ON A LITTLE BIT RIGHT NOW. BUT WHENEVER THE SUN RISES, WE'RE GOING TO BE WARMING UP VERY QUICKLY. THESE DEW POINTS VERY HIGH. THIS IS TROPICAL FEELS AS FAR AS WHAT YOU'RE GOING TO BE LOOKING AT THE HUMIDITY LEVELS LATER ON TODAY. THIS MEASURES THE MOISTURE IN THE AIR. WE'RE TALKING 70S. IT IS GOING TO BE DOWNRIGHT MISERABLE OUTSIDE THE CURRENT VISIBILITIES ACROSS THE STATE. NOTICE WITH THESE HIGHER HUMIDITY LEVELS, MORE MOISTURE IS STILL GOING TO BE DEALING WITH SOME OF THAT FOG IN NORTH CENTRAL IOWA. DENSE STUFF THAT DIRECTION IF YOU'RE TRAVELING THAT WAY, OR IF YOU'RE WAKING UP THAT DIRECTION, YOU COULD BE LOOKING AT SOME OF THAT, BUT THAT WILL CLEAR UP PRETTY QUICKLY THROUGHOUT THE MORNING. ONCE THE SUN RISES. SUNNY DAY TODAY, AS WE ALSO HAVE THAT SOUTHERLY WIND FLOW, THE HEAT DOME PARKED RIGHT ON TOP OF US FOR TODAY. WE'RE NOT GOING TO CATCH ANY BREAK FROM THIS HEAT AS WE GO INTO THIS AFTERNOON. IN FACT, THIS WILL BE THE HOTTEST DAY AS WE GO INTO TONIGHT. WE'RE TALKING ABOUT THE STORM CHANCES FARTHER TO THE NORTH. YOU'RE EXPECTING AROUND MIDNIGHT AND BEYOND THAT, A BETTER CHANCE FOR SOME OF THESE STORMS TO POP UP IN NORTHERN IOWA. SO YOU'RE EVEN LOOKING AT AS FAR SOUTH AS ABOUT WEBSTER COUNTY. SO YOU'RE LOOKING WEBSTER COUNTY. EVEN POCAHONTAS, HUMBOLDT AND KOSSUTH COUNTY BY AROUND 2 A.M., A CHANCE FOR THESE STORMS TO PUSH ON THROUGH COULD WAKE YOU UP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. A CHANCE FOR SOME SEVERE WEATHER WITH THIS AS WELL. BETTER CHANCE WILL BE FARTHER TO THE NORTH, AND EVEN AS WE GET TO 4:00, GOING TO 6:00, STILL GOING TO BE WATCHING THOSE STORMS SKIRT ON BY. BUT BY 6:00 THEY'RE GOING TO BE EXITING THE STATE AND WE'RE GOING TO BE DRYING THINGS OUT THROUGHOUT THE MORNING. A CHANCE FOR SOME POP UP STORMS THROUGHOUT TUESDAY AS WELL. THE BETTER CHANCE WILL COME TUESDAY NIGHT, BUT WITH THAT HEAT AND THAT BOUNDARY RIGHT ON TOP OF US, WE ARE GOING TO BE LOOKING AT A CHANCE FOR SOME OF THESE STORMS TO FIRE OFF WITH ALL THIS ENERGY, ALL THE WARMTH THAT WE HAVE. BUT THEN GOING INTO WEDNESDAY, WE REALLY START TO WIND DOWN THAT ACTIVITY. IT'S GOING TO RETURN AS WE GETET INTO THURSDAY, BUT THAT'S GOING TO BRING THAT RELIEF THAT WE'RE LOOKING FORWARD TO THE SEVERE WEATHER RISK FARTHER TO THE NORTH, MINNESOTA GOING INTO SOUTH DAKOTA, EVEN CLIPPING NORTHERN NEBRASKA, THAT WILL BE THE BETTER CHANCE FOR THE STRONGER STORMS. NOTICE AS YOU GET INTO IOWA, IT TAPERS OFF PRETTY QUICKLY. WE'RE STAYING DRY TO THE SOUTH, EVEN US NORTH CENTRAL IOWA. THAT WILL BE THE BETTER CHANCE FOR SOME MORE OF THOSE STRONGER STORMS TO DEVELOP. THIS IS LEVEL TWO RISK OUT OF FIVE FOR US. FOR THE FAR NORTHERN PORTION OF THE STATE. BUT WE'RE TALKING ABOUT AFTER MIDNIGHT TONIGHT AND THEN WRAPPING UP BY 5 A.M. SO IT'S NOT GOING TO BE IMPACTFUL FOR YOUR MORNING DRIVE. THE HEAT INDEX VALUES. WE'RE TALKING ABOUT THE TRIPLE DIGITS 105 TO 110 RANGE FOR TODAY. AND THEN AS WE GET INTO TUESDAY NOTICE NOT AS WIDESPREAD BUT STILL CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN IOWA, ESPECIALLY SOUTHEASTERN IOWA, THAT HEAT IS GOING TO CONTINUE. HERE'S THE EIGHT DAY FORECAST. STORMS TUESDAY AND TUESDAY NIGHT WILL BE A POSSIBILITY. SOME OF THAT ISOLATED ACTIVITY POP UP WIDESPREAD THUNDERSTORMS THURSDAY AS A COLD FRONT PASSES OVER US COULD BE LOOKING AT SOME WET CONDITIONS FOR THURSDAY. FOOTBALL. JUST A FYI THERE AND THEN
