fun one ahead top 10 team Target on their back going on their Road and right into the snake pit as we'll see a team fresh and ready to go off of my week the Clemson Tigers taking on the 24th rank team in the land the two- Lane Green Wave for EA Sports college football I'm ree Davis joined here in the booth by David poock and Jesse Palmer and guys let's get this thing [Applause] started Tu will kick it off to get this game underway going for the return didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 first and offense getting set for first [Applause] down he wants to throw unloads to the Wi out right on the money to the outside he dragged the toe about the ball placement only the receiver could get it Clemson has just been prolific at the receiver position more schem or more Talent I'd argue it's both David yeah I argue more Talent over the years just dudes on the outside that win and you know what I think Clemson as much as anybody in the country he's always featured those guys and you want to play one-on-one with those guys or you want to give them a cushion like they'll throw it right now and they've always believed in those guys out wide and you know what they usually come through for him quarterback touch pass on the Jet Sweep and they'll stop him just short of the first down just inches away from moving the sticks here on third down to the ground to try to move the chains he's got first down yardage as they move it to the 44 it's a really good sign if you're on offense here you're putting it on your offensive line on thir down critical down and distance opening drive of the game let those guys fire off get a hat on a hat you can run the ball pick up the first you're around Midfield all things looking pretty good here it inside the 10 he's brought down but he's got him inside the 10 first and goal from the and that's why this guy's a complete running back he's good between the tackles he can pass block but he can also run rout and we're not just talking about screens or swing route and you race it to the house touch tiger now the two-point conversion attempt is coming lost the pass fires to the wide out and that one's going to be over everybody's headed incomplete lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown Drive [Applause] Z bounces through the end zone it's a touch back they'll bring it out to the 25 they've got the Big Fellas out there a three tight end look on First and 10 The Run to the right finds that crease and he's got four out to the 29 When You Reach This point in the season these types of games top 25 matchups really determine whether you're going to be a contender yeah and really show what you're going to be the rest of the season how you going to finish strong throughout the season you know the first part of the season now getting to the middle of the Season Palmer getting a chance to show what you're about so you can finish it's a Resume Builder no doubt about it really there's been so much anticipation building up to this top 25 matchup so which team can control their emotions I think goes a long way and who wins this one s looking to go up top on first down he's got an open man and he's running in the open and they are pushing the ball down the field a big pick up on that one the tackle is finally made I know it's early in the game but defensively after that play you know you have to tackle the catch when this guy gets the ball in his hands he is so dangerous after the fact so it's okay for him to catches just got to get him to the ground quickly he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple and that play shows you really what this defense is about it's a difficult one to attack they're really good one of the best in the country they come at you from all angles so I I'm interested to watch how do you mix up the play calling how do you keep the defense off balance because they are a good one they think there's room to run to the right here and they'll make the Stop and we are headed to the end of the first period [Music] [Applause] a third down play to get the quarter started [Applause] they think they can create space here with the run to the right and there were some collisions in there and the D finally stops him short of the marker toan looking for the fourth down conversion here quarterback will audible he'll try to throw and pick up the first down and it's picked off at the goal line inside the 50 the 30 the 20 touchdown Tigers a great return for the touchdown any return for a touchdown is a great one to a defense yeah how about that man fourth down trying to go make a play get this offense going get it sparked get some points on the board and that couldn't have gone any worse they throw the pick not only that they return it all the way back for six that offense just shot themselves right in the foot he's into the end zone for the two and extends the lead they'll kick it off and send that defense right back out there to try to score again after the pick six and no chance at a return here they'll start this drive at their own 25 the twain offense headed back onto the field that last pick six after a drive like that David can swing the momentum of a game the defense is still celebrating I mean such a big play I mean they they gave up some yards but did what they're supposed to do now Jesse this offense has to put a drive together yeah they have to recapture some momentum here what they can't do is go three and out and give the ball right back [Applause] they'll go to the [Applause] ground they get him stopped after a gain of four out to the 28 offensive linemen love to run the power why you run power you run power then you can play action you don't want that defense to be sitting there say it's a pass it's a pass having to pass block every play you got to keep defenses off balance the receivers often will run their route based on a side adjustment they're bringing heat he took a hit as he it and couldn't deliver the football it's incomplete and fourth Down's coming great job by the defense dialing out some pressure on third down they hit the quarterback and force the incompletion they were unfaced by that earlier fourth down failure and will try for a second time in this one he'll try to throw and pick up the first down showing the arm strength to the left he's got it downfield for a huge game well they just drained all the suspense out of the fourth down conversion moving the chains easily here comes toan after picking up the first down he's looking to throw it fires to the tight end and he'll step out of bounds after a very productive play and here comes the offense on second down the give to the back he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a of three we've made our way to the two-minute warning and now they'll try to at least cut a little something off of this lead before the [Applause] break Thompson wants to throw fires to the middle finds a tight end and he Motors into the end zone touchdown and I tell you what that passing touchdown man that should spark this whole team like The Comeback is more than on now like they got the touchdown they cut into the lead you want to get a stop and go into the half get all the juices all the excitement and like listen the passing game rolling we got this The Comebacks in full effect the kickoff bounces through with the end zone they'll bring it out to the [Applause] 25 Clemson has their paws on it and they'll send out the offense that last Drive really productive David wound up with a touchdown they'll try to do it again yeah so I don't expect this offense to change too much ree they had a great Drive they got the touchdown everything working I would expect him to keep pushing this ball downhill and just imagine if they could put another touchdown on the board right here they could capture so much momentum in this game with backto back TDS wide receiver now comes in motion on second down he'll let it fly gets it out fast and they wrap him up but not before he's got enough for the first down I just love quarterbacks that aren't greedy and that aren't always trying to throw the Home Run ball right second down you're in your own end of the field the guy you want to throw to is not open just find the B he'll go do something positive with it this guy is a weapon and you got to find him in the passing Mak a connection and they got the defense on that one they get it to the 29 yd line how great is it to have a running back who can basically run your entire route tree you don't see a lot of guys line up and then run vertically down the field get open and make a big play this dude is special from the gun they'll try to impose their will coaches always harp about staying ahead of the chains and when you can run with that type of efficiency on first down man you are doing just that they can really be aggressive after that last play it's second and three here comes the rush and they've got him wrapped up at the 28 and the defense there goes Zone coverage maybe confuse the quarterback a little bit forced them to hold on to the football and that allowed the pass rush to get home defense getting stingier in their own end of the field it's third and long from the 28 from the gun wants to pass throws toward the end zone touchdown cson and they take it in for six more points number with the grab and here comes the two-point try [Applause] he'll set up to throw he's got the two-point conversion and they build on that lead so they got the touchdown now going to put it in the hands of their defense to finish off this [Applause] half and it'll come out to the 25 no attempt at a return Tain has it back in the offense coming out to go on the attack there's certainly still a hill to climb they've got to make sure these drives pay off got a touchdown he's going for a big Play Down field and it's incomplete they were looking for the huge gain on first down DB does an outstanding job here on the Deep pass locating the football no Pi able to swat it away pass incomplete Thompson to throw he'll take another shot here and that one Falls incomplete trying to get a chunk play on that one well the quarterback knew where he wanted to go with the ball his intended target just wasn't open so the quarterback made sure he put that football in the stands probably the toughest call on the play sheet third and long Ball's at the 25 from the gun wants to pass and he got smacked just as he released the pass it's incomplete and that's a play on third down this offense just has to do a better job protecting their quarterback give them a split second more time to complete that throw but they couldn't do it there fourth down and the punt team sends it the other way time dwindling away as they try to put points on the board right before the half trying to find his man on first down pocket starts to collapse he can find his man and the clock stopped with six seconds left pressure got to the QB that time he was trying to find his check down out of the back field but the hit forced the incompletion just enough time for one final play in this half misfired on first down back to the air on second a shot toward the end zone incomplete they took a shot to wrap up the half and came up empty that's going to wrap up the first half here and now we join Kevin with a half timee update Clemson will kick this deep to get the second half underway and they thought about a return Then thought better of it they'll bring it out to the 25 the twain offense headed back onto the field down two possessions to start this third quarter they'd love to build some early momentum you ain't lying cuz you only got so many possessions here in the second half so now you're down I got to maximize every single one put your best plays together start this drive off on a good note yeah it starts right here obviously you can't get it all back on this drive but you can create that momentum you can create something special and some energy but it's going to start with this offense here executing at a high L man that was a good run but it was almost even better great job by the offense keep the running game going you get big chunks Like This Not only was that a big chunk it also looked like it could have gone for more Thompson wants to throw he's going up top and they won't make connection looking to make a big play there and this offense has got to find a way to get some gim some layups some some screens they need some Yak some yards after the catch they got to find some guys that can make some plays for this offense cuz it's just Boomer bust there's not a lot of consistency they got to put some first downs together put some Drives together be more consistent I never know if it's grammatically correct to say a team is being out physical you hear it a lot in football though that's happening in this game they are just not getting the push they need all game long up front to have any success when they decide to run it and tackling there to keep him from getting to the first down marker I mean good news here they get the completion bad news though not enough to pick up the first down the target there he's got to do a better job understanding where the first down marker is make sure he gets the right depth on his route now all of a sudden head coach has a big [Applause] decision makes a catch the sticks let me tell you this senior quarterback can flat fitted in a tight window this two lane offense has a great drive going on the run is Livingston and he's a real Nowhere Man tackled in this no gain land they got nothing on the last play it's second and [Applause] 10 he's looking to throw and the quarterback is snowed under yeah and man you talk about being down at the half what's one thing I need to do I got to protect my quarterback in the first series here now you're getting your quarterback hit and taken to the ground this offense has to protect that dude at all costs on Third and long doesn't need to take the check down and this defense is bringing the heat another sack well the defense new coming into the second half they were going to have to crank up the pass rush right they've got the lead they're going to be seeing this quarterback drop back how can you affect him you've got to win up front oneon-one and get home and they did there on third down oh miss judges it a bits it oh the offense absolute Disaster by Falling on that F Turners don't get many shots right like they only get a few shots a game they want to maximize it you're not going to get any shots if you don't secure the football got to take care of the football big fell PS and fires complete at the 45 on it he's Off to the Races inside the 10 touchdown Clemson and the route is on they've extended the lead and taken control here in week n and the extra point will tack another one onto this lead and let's check in with Kevin Conor in Studio Kevin Dynamite match up this week fellas let's show you what's going down boyc state is trailing right now but I'm old enough to remember the 07 season where this program ran the Statue of Liberty play to win the Fiesta Bowl if that group could find a way there's hope for this team they're trailing by just two to San Diego State we've got our eye on things here and everything else going on right now and any updates you'll see them here ni oh and how about that I know Kevin and those guys will be keeping an eye on it for us they say you could call holding on every play well they did on that one on first down here comes this [Applause] offense Thompson to throw and those two couldn't make the connection it's an incomplete pass is now second down line getting set on second down theing receivers telling the quarterback what they see looking to throw on second down he Chucks one out to the right fires into traffic intercepted crosses the 30 got a lane he is finally out of bounds but he was smelling that End Zone on that return well he started rolling to his right and because of that it allowed the defender some time to close the distance between himself and the intended target and his speed got him to the point he was able to come away with the [Applause] pick catch in the middle it's brown really nice pick up on that one as they get it to the 36 it'll be first down time winding down in the quarter as they come to the line [Applause] he's going to pass finds his tight end and he goes out of bounds after a nice pick up on that one we'll get this quarter going with a second down play [Applause] on second down he'll fire that pass is incomplete and they're probably fortunate that it wasn't not free for a fumble doesn't take this defense a lot of time to get to the quarterback man they've got speed all over the place they hit him so quickly and because of that the ball Falls incomplete touch pass on the Run [Music] and he's brought down after a nice game I love that play call and I love the timing of the pre-nap motion because the quarterback was able to get it to the receiver right behind the offensive line because of the timing he was able to outflank the defense that puts him out in space where he's able to use his speed nice job with the pre- snap Motion in [Applause] time operating in the Red Zone here on second down after the incompletion they go back up top touchdown tigers and the puming has started with that last score things comfortable here in the fourth as they are headed to a seven and one record and this offense continuing to put up points this game's Out Of Reach you know you're going to win but still throwing the football still finding that connection I imagine there'll be some salty handshakes at the end of this game and he'll just take a knee and this drive will start at the 25 Tain has it back in the offense coming out to go on the attack after throwing the pick on the last drive need to take care of the ball this time Jesse we're going to find out a lot about this quarterback right here too how does he through adversity after that last Drive yeah clear the mechanism move on that's a part of it right you're going to be a great player got to learn how to handle these mistakes and move on you know it's so important for offens is to want to keep third Downs manageable the way you do that is by having success like that running the football on first down give to the running back defense closed down quickly after a gain of three they'll mark it at the 32 now on third down after that run he'll try to get it through the air oh he's going to take a shot at the DB snags it down the right side ripped off a huge Chun play on that one as he gets the first down before he steps out of bound tan looking to put one on the board from the red zone from the gun running back gets the GI and this one will be stopped for No Gain you're going to stop the run game you better be physical up front on the defensive line they've got some MERS they've got some dudes with bad intentions nice play there going to work on second down in the red zone is still some ground to cover to pick up that first down can't make the grab as he was looking for his man right at the goal line and it's just been that kind of day for this quart in this offense guys they have never been able to get into a rhythm throwing the football timing's been off accuracy hasn't been great we've seen some drops just noing and he throws another interception his third of the N that's a right ball the defense all over that loose ball and now they're bringing it back and the offense makes the tackle in frustration after the interception Drive comes up empty and it's a turnover will come to the line with the first and goal they'll try to pound their way [Applause] in second down here and maybe they've got time to get one more snap off before the two-minute warning wide out in motion and he was hit just as he released it and it falls to the turf and how about this offense they're not worried about the clock they're not worried about the score they're not worried about early and downs still trying to execute their offense still trying to make big plays and they've had a great day so far so they've gotten it right on the doorstep couldn't get it in via the air last time here's third down on the option now the pitch and they're going to score again yet another touchdown as they just added their total lining up to tack one more onto that lead and with the extra point they push the lead out a little further quick strike offense on that three playay scoring drive and they capped it off with a Oney plunge about to kick it away after scoring the touchdown he thought about bringing that out for a half second but he'll take a knee and they'll bring it to the 25 the Tain offense headed back onto the field well this has pretty much been an evisceration an oldfashioned stomping Jesse Yeah and listen this is one of those games where you're not necessarily throwing the playbook in the trash after this one but I do think this coaching staff David really has to be honest with themselves and rethink what schemes are working and not working and which guys maybe need to get more touches in this offense well I I think I like the trash option as well because it's been hot trash this has been a bad day offense defense giving up a ton of points not scoring near enough so it's been a bad day you're going to want to forget solid fundamentals on that tackle from this freshman and and I think this offense is all but surrendered right like they're they're down so much they need to be throwing the football they want to score a bunch of points to get back in this game but they got to find something moving forward man this was a rough day this was not a great offensive performance they got a bounce back the next opportunity the next moment cuz today o it was not a good day that third down pass was coming in hot before it fell to the ground and this defense has put a game together like it is hard to put all the facets of Defense together run defense pass defense they've been so good man dialed in you could tell they were ready they were fast they were physical they dominated this football game today on fourth down they're taking to the air and he going to be batted down they'll turn it over on Downs I think after failing on the fourth down guys you look at the scoreboard you look at how much time is left I think they're going to lose this football game this coaching staff is going to have to dig deep and try to find ways to get this team better next time they take the field Clemson ready to dial up some ball plays they've got it on offense final minute this game's on Ice they can take a knee and run out the clock this offense has to feel great with how they're able to go out execute and perform big plays all game long I think it's sending a statement to to Future defenses down the road on the schedule they're going to be tough to contend with yeah I mean they got Firepower putting up so many points this thing is easily over now they can just chillax go back to the locker room know they're going to get the victory halfway there on first down it's second and five they go to the ground really nice run there good solid pick up and they'll move the sticks with a first down the want to crank the tempo that's first the from the shotgun the hand off to the back he has an extensive Juke library and he exhausted it and still didn't pick up much just complete and utter dominance in this
