College Football 2024 Week 1 Notre Dame vs Texas A&M Live Broadcast

what's up sports fans this is the Lucas Ross Sports channel and welcome back everybody to the live stream here live play-by-play broadcast getting ready for our second game of our double head we just completed our first game of our double header again we uh now are switching over here uh for our second game our second game of the evening is between the Notre Dame Fighting Irish taking on the Texas Ana maggies at a top 25 matchup number seven rank Notre Dame taking on Texas A&M the 20th ranked team in the country about almost 30 minutes away from the kickoff but we got pregame coming up for you here in just a moment um I wanted to first start off with our um you know final score of that Miami versus Florida game again if you weren't here for that stream Miami of course defeating Florida 4117 was the final score that one the hurricanes with a great offensive performance let's take a look at the final stats again your Lucas Ross sports player of the game is going to go to cam Ward uh cam Ward was 26 of 36 of passing 385 yards of total yards of passing let's take a look at the final stats here of this game between Florida and Miami well Miami finished with 25 first downs they were five of 10 on third Downs at 52920 yards of offense a great offensive performance and like we mentioned earlier 385 yards of total passing for this Miami team and then looking at uh rushing yards Miami had 144 yards on the ground 33 rushing yard or 33 Rush attempts and they just had two penalties in the game took care of themselves with a penalties they just had two penalties with two of them with 26 yards and then they had one turnover so Miami took care of the football pretty well in this game they had a great offensive performance again cam Ward is your Lucas Ross sports player of the game again of course with that kind of performance he is definitely player of the game in this one uh looking at Florida stats their final stats of their evening uh first downs Florida had 17 first downs struggled on third down though conversions one of nine and then they were one of two on Fourth Downs 261 total yards they finish with in total yards on the day again not really a great offensive performance by the Gators in this one 122 passing yards uh grah Merz did go out with the injury and then of course DJ lagway came in there but overall they were 14 of 26 passing in the game as a team and then of course they had two interceptions two turnovers 139 rushing yards that was the strength of this uh you know Florida offense was the running game but they had two penalties for 25 yards so both teams didn't really have a lot of penalties in this game but um before grah Merz went out with the injury uh gry Merz um had 11 of 20 of passing and then 91 yards and then one interception we wish um you know the best of a speedy recovery there for grah Merz but again your final score of the Florida and um Miami game your final score was Miami 41 uh Florida 17 Miami starts 1-0 uh they get ready for three cupcake games the next three weeks before they open up ACC play on September 27th against uh you know Virginia Tech which lost today to Vanderbilt and then of course we had Clemson lose to uh you know we we we saw Clemson lose to Georgia so uh the ACC was 1 and2 today against SEC teams but either way Miami takes care of it uh they get the win for the uh conference and everything we probably could see Miami now be the front runner in the conference so again watch out for this Miami team they look like they were a really good team out there uh for Florida it gets really tough for them uh you know next weekend though they get a cupcake game against sford uh looking to redeem themselves and then of course the schedule gets tougher and it's especially going to be tough for the next seven games they got Texas A&M then they got UCF and then they got the rest of their SEC schedule which is going to be really tough but again your final score in that Miami versus Texas A&M ready for our second game of our double header we just completed our first game now it's time for our second game again it's Nutter Dame versus Texas A&M top 25 Showdown here of college football week number one it's been a really quiet week one a lot of the top 25 teams you know have taken care of business throughout the weekend so far but you know we do have some other top 25 match up coming up for you tomorrow night that's LSU and of course USC but Miami just took care of business against Florida on the road and you know we saw Clemson you know a top 15 team lose to Georgia but that has been the only top 15 team to go down today and also a top 25 team as well so it's been a really quiet week one but we'll see what happens on Sunday and Monday when Florida State and LSU and USC are in action so and again we got some indiv ual videos definitely to look forward to coming up next week as well meanwhile Texas AUM and Notre Dame these are two programs that of course have a lot of history not a lot of history in terms of you know meeting each other but in terms of talent and also definitely in Heisman Trophy winners we saw Johnny Manzel the former quarterback of Texas A&M in college game day of course one of the all-time greats but for Texas A&M we'll get to them in just a minute let's start with Notre Dame first they come in ranked the number seven team in the country and they finished 10 and3 last year it was a 10- win season under Marcus Freeman in his second season as the head coach he now enters his third year as the head coach he's got a new quarterback in Ry Leonard the transfer from Duke of course that you know will go up against his former coach at Duke as well and Mike ELO but let's talk about this Nutter Dame team plenty of talent every single year on both sides of the football but can they live up to the expectations this is a team could be a playoff Contender as an independent team even though they don't play the toughest schedules and everything but they got a really tough game here in this one against the agies and it's in College Station Texas and it should be a really tough matchup here for the agies either way or the um Irish either way but you know Notre Dame comes into this game as the um as the favorite according to the FBI matchup predictor uh Texas A&M though gets the spread Texas A&M comes into this one as a favored by three but the matchup predictor gives Notre Dame a 58% chance to win this game and they give Texas A&M a 41.2% chance so pretty even FBI uh matchup predictor just like the Miami and Florida game but it wasn't even that close Florida got absolutely manhandled by Miami could the same thing happened tonight could NRE Dame ruin Texas A&M's offseason hype and get a big win here tonight but I think this Texas A&M team they're going to come out really focused and you look at this Texas M team of course the big story is Mike Elco new head coach for Texas A&M takes over Jimbo fiser after not living up to the expectations for the aies he takes over a Texas A&M football team that brings back a lot of experience from last year of course Conor wi wingman returns from injury from last season takes over at the quarterback position for another season and hopefully he can stay healthy this time and have a full college football season Mike Yoko had a really sucess successful year at Duke for the last couple years LED Duke to bowl games LED them to a nine- win season in 2022 and he's looking to live up to those expectations like he did at Duke when he comes to play for the SEC in Texas A&M but again n Dame and Texas A&M that's all the preseason story lines again Mike ELO taking on his former quarterback at Duke and Ry Leonard that's a big storyline there and I wonder if they got together before the pregame and saw each other for the first time ever since riy Leonard transferred out of Duke but we'll see what happens we got more pregame we're about close to about 15 minutes away from second game of our double header again we just had Florida and Miami while ago Miami winning 4117 and now we're getting ready between nutre Dame and Texas A&M it's a top 25 Showdown the biggest game of the weekend college game day of course was at um was in um you know Texas in College Station Texas today again talking about story lines here Notre Dame again number seventh ranked team in the country taking on the 20th ranked team in the country Texas A&M a lot of hype around the Aggies this year again they're you know projected to probably really at least compete in the SEC this season even though it's a first year head coach but Texas A&M has a schedule that you know it it really sets up pretty well for them they don't have to play Alabama this year I believe so uh that's been the strength of this Texas A&M team is that what they have done in recruiting and also in the transfer portal and a lot of experience again on this roster and they also got got the home fit Advantage tonight uh which is going to be a really tough tough place to play here for the Irish and um Texas Anam and Notre Dame have not met each other in a long long time so we'll see what happens in this game but um you know let's take a look at some of the uh college football you know final scores throughout the day uh we did have a lot of games of course in week number one uh we saw of course Georgia Dominic Clemson 34-3 the number one ranked bulldog out really strong they pulled away in the second half against that Clemson team the Clemson offense just really struggled to get things going meanwhile looking at some matchups that are going on right now Alabama leads Western Kentucky 7 to zero with 725 to go in the first quarter of play looking at Old Miss they lead 20 to Zer with 439 to go in the first quarter Kansas State leads 14 to Zer over UT Martin with 345 to go in the first Michigan is now just underway the defending national Champions as they are taking on a group of five team in Fresno State that game is going on right now and again some other final scores for you Penn State defeated West Virginia 34-2 they had a weather delay of course in that game a little bit earlier Iowa puts up 40 points in their first game with a new offense 40 to Zer over Illinois State Tennessee dominating Chattanooga 69-3 Oklahoma State defeats South Dakota State 44-2 Ohio State took took care of business today 52-6 so that offense is looking a lot better compared to last year Texas took care of business against Colorado State 52 to Zer and some other matchups that are coming up for you in just a little bit it's Oregon um taking on Idaho and then we got Arizona taking on New Mexico at 10:30 tonight so that'll be the last game this evening for the college football week one of between the agies and the Fighting Irish this is the only uh this is only the six alltime meeting between nutre Dame and Texas A&M the last meeting came in 2001 a win by the Aggies largest margin of Victory Texas a or Notre Dame 28-3 they have beaten um they once beaten Texas A&M three straight times longest win streak for Texas A&M is one and largest margin of Victory is 35 to10 looking at National Championships Notre Dame with a big Advantage there 11 national titles three national titles for Texas A&M conference championships of course Notre Dame not in a conference but 18 for the agies in conference championships some of them coming from maybe from a different conference and then of course not from the SEC of course I mean there's not been a lot of n conference championships bowl games both teams pretty close in this cat or 42- 40 in favor of Texas A&M wins all time NRE Dame leads that category by a big margin 920 948 out of the 778 for the aies and then looking at consistence all-americans NRE Dame with a big Advantage there 109 to 34 Heisman winners of course Notre Dame with seven and then Texas aen with two their last Heisman Trophy winner was Johnny Manzel back in 2012 when he was just a true freshman back NFL draft picks 532 for under Dame Texas a't in with 306 first round NFL draft picks and then 71 for under Dame 36 for the aies and then um like I said that is just the comparisons here between Notre Dame and Texas A&M the aies getting ready to make their entrance at Kyle Field in College Station Texas again this is the sixth alltime meeting between nutre Dame and Texas A&M so again not a lot of history but again the last meeting came in 2001 23 years ago and here come the Aggies Mike Elco the Mike ELO era begins in College Station Texas what an entrance we are ready for the biggest game of the weekend Texas A&M and Notre Dame top 25 matchup Notre Dame though number seventh in the country yagi is number 20 Fighting Irish now ready to make their walk to the field in this hostile environment this is not the only toughest Road game that they've played all year and also in the history of college football they played on the road with the likes of Georgia an SEC program there a lot of booze by this Texas A&M crowd as Ry Leonard tries to soak it all in Texas A&M will be in the maroon uniforms the home maroon uniforms with white pants and white helmet the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the white uniforms with navy numbers and gold trim and the gold pants and the old gold helmet and of course has been the tradition at Notre Dame really big game here for both of these teams playoff expectations maybe on the line for both Notre Dame and Texas A&M Texas A&M wasn't really considered a playoff Contender though but if they can win this game and get off to a right start and get on the right track to start it will definitely be maybe a playoff Contender both quarterbacks warming up Connor wingman of Texas A&M Ry Leonard of Notre Dame Marcus Freeman looks at this hostile crowd you could tell there is a little bit of nerves between Texas A&M and under Dame as the coin toss is getting live here so we don't really see this very often throughout the college football season where they show a live of the coin toss they usually just go to commercial break but they are showing it under Dame one that toss and they defer so Texas A&M will get the ball to start this one so Notre Dame will kick it off Texas A&M and this mikoko offense will come out onto the field first led by Conor wigman at quarterback course Marcus Freeman again in his third season as the head coach for the Fighting Irish he is seven and five all time versus top 25 opponents Mike Elko of course in his first year as the head coach for Texas ANM you can feel the energy between Texas A&M and NRE Dame and all these quarter and all these players they are ready to start start the college football season but this is the biggest game right here on Saturday the football with two just with just two interceptions and then 16 touchdown passes again missed all last year with the injury could this finally be the year that he's finally fully healthy Texas A&M takes over from their own 25 yard line Le'Veon Moss is in the back field wman gets the snap Wiman throws on first down and a quick first down grab over the middle and the agies get a quick automatic first down to start this game catch Made by Allen number six and Texas AUM hurries up to the line they want to be aggressive in this game as they get to about the 40 yd line gain of 15 wingman to throw on second first down again and it's incomplete that time so Texas A&M with a quick first down on the drive Noah Thomas and Amari Daniels will be the two impact players for the aies Jack Kaiser and Benjamin Morrison on the other side for under Dame will the be the impact players there second down and 10 after the incompletion from Connor wingman womman hands it off Moss gets the carry and he'll get about four it'll be close to that 45 yd line and it'll be third down coming up the first third down of the Season here and also the first third down of the mikelo era third down and seven after the three- yard carry by Moss Conor womman out of the shotgun Notre Dame jumped it's going to be a flag but free play incomplete it's not going to be enough though I think for the first down though it will just move it a little bit closer and make it third and short so it will be third down still coming up that's the first penalty on the Fighting Irish good strategy there by the agies to try to make Notre Dame jump off sides and they do that but it's now third and two not third and one third and two as they're inside Midfield already Conor reman out the shotgun Moss comes to his left this time though Moss or wean takes the snap hands it off to moss on the right side and Moss gets to the edge and he has a first down for Texas A&M gets to Notre Dame territory right around the 49 yd line great drive here so far by the agies first row of the game was a automatic first down for 15 yards first down and 10 at the 48 Wayman takes the snap hands it off to Moss up the middle and hammers ahead or Moss Hammer ahead for about a two-yard gain Texas A&M again we'll see what this offense looks like again Bobby Patrina was the offensive coordinator last year now moved to Arkansas so a different kind of coaching staff here for the aies Conor wean out of the shotgun here on second down and eight and going to be another penalty against under Dame here I believe for off sides there is Flags down so there is a long discussion here a lot of pointing here and it's a off sides against NRE Dame so backto back off sides by NRE Dame on this drive it is a 5-yard penalty so 10 yards already on penalties for the Irish makes it second down in about four Conor wean out of the shotgun wean waiting for the snap gets it wean to throw Under Pressure fires a quick slant complete to his tight end and a first down great pressure by NRE Dame but Conor wigman with was able to get that throw off and it's a first down for the aies the safety came on the blitz there for the Irish but Texas A&M gets the ball out just in time they're inside the 24 yd line first down and 10 in nutre Dame territory Wiman gets the snap looking to throw again looking to his left still looking under pressure now ween rolls to his right now he's going to scramble Gets Out of Bounds at about the 20 yd line maybe the 18 that's where they'll spotted at and a great run there by Connor wigman to get out of pressure so Colin clean is the offensive coordinator for Texas A&M again it's a new coaching staff again that's the reason why this is a new error for Texas A&M football but this is there's a lot of Talent on this roster no question about it eighth play the drive here for the agies it's their first drive of the game in this one wean out the shotgun on second down and three under Dame almost jumped again there's a snap wean to throw shuel it and that one almost intercepted a dangerous throw there by Connor wean but it's incomplete so it will bring up third down and about three coming up again Conor wean missed out the whole season last year with the injury again can he stay healthy this season that'll be a big key here for this Texas A&M football team third down and three for the aies wean gets the snap wean tosses it out right that one's going to be incomplete running back was the intended receiver that was Smith and now a field goal attempt will come out so fourth down for the agies Texas game of our double header we had Florida and Miami earlier Gators of course tough loss for them 4 417 over the Miami Hurricanes Texas A&M will kick the ball away and man almost every kicker has kicked a Touchback a lot throughout these college football games today again it's been a really quiet you know college football week one so riy Leonard comes in the transfer from duke 24 passing touchdowns in his career at Duke 10 interceptions 19 rushing tou touchdowns of course had a season ining injury in week nine so under Dame takes over on the offensive side of the football last year they had Sam Hartman at quarterback but this year they once again got a transfer quarterback out of an ACC program first down and 10 for the Irish out of the shotgun goes Leonard R Leonard to throw his first passes the Notre Dame quarterback fires it complete and out a two yard game maybe three they'll give him three on that play out to about the 28 yd line impact players Jeremiah Love at running back for Notre Dame Anton nap and then on the defense Nick shorton and tan York for Texas A&M second down and seven for the Irish Leonard out of the the shotgun boy you could hear you could just tell how Ry Leonard is not getting a snap B because of this crowd low snap Linder picks it up though and now fires across the middle and he's got him in and it's a first down boy what a recover if you're Ry Leonard there after bobbling the snap and getting the ball out of his hands and throwing a completion for a first down so first down and 10 here 954 to go in this first quarter of play Aggie's in front 30-0 Leonard out of the shotgun takes a snap going to hand it off to his tailback and about a yard on that carry maybe two Marcus Radcliffe with the stop for Texas A&M RI Leonard of course really recovered after bobbling that snap they just showed it while ago great play second out of nine ball at the 36 yd line Leonard out of the shotgun takes a snap Leonard short Pro to the right it is complete right around to the 40 yd line Lee thei comes up with a tackle number 26 for the aies Texas A&M fans now getting loud here on this third down third down and five coming up for the Fighting Irish Ry Leonard shouting out but I don't think his teammates can really hear him in front of this High crowd Ry Leonard out of the shotgun here takes a snap low snap but now gets pressured Leonard he's going to take off and run for it he has a lot of touchdown career touchdowns in his career at Duke and there is a flag down Leonard gets to about the 50 yard line it's going to be a penalty against Texas A&M for a late hit and Texas A&M with a little bit of hustle there Harris number 25 I believe was the player that hit Leonard on that late hit boy a great effort by Ry Leonard to escape from pressure and get the first down automatically well I tell you what Ry Leonard is clearly down on that play Oh targeting now is under further review here it is a 15 yard penalty against Texas A&M but now a targeting review is under a review here and again Harris number 25 or Brooks number 25 for Texas ANM is the one that is called on the targeting if it is a targeting he will be ejected for the game back in the old targeting days it used to be the player had to go to the locker room but now they can sit for the rest of the game on the sideline but I think this might be a targeting it looked like it was a clear shot to the helmet still waiting here for the official so Brooks is now disqualified for the remainder of this ball game a targeting is confirmed so not what you want to see there if you're the Texas A&M defense Dalton Brooks disqualified from the game he's just a sophomore and Mike eloko having a talk with his Defender other scores going on Alabama leads 21 nothing over Western Kentucky let's watch this play Ry Leonard out of the shotgun ball is at the 35 Leonard takes the snap hands it off to his tailback left side and he's going to be dropped for a loss wrapped up right around the back the back of the 38 yard line Old Miss leads 31 to zero over Ferman Kansas State leads 14-3 over UT Martin Oregon leads Idaho 70 Michigan leads 7-0 against Fresno State and again that's the scores coming going on for the top 25 teams second down and 13 after the three- yard run or three- yard loss on the play Leonard to throw here on second down and miscommunication there it's incomplete it is now a long third down coming up here for the Irish not a bad first drive here for Notre Dame but again the penalty has led Notre Dame to like you know in Texas A&M's territory again a 15 yard penalty targeting was called against Dalton Brooks and he is now disqualified for the remainder of this game third down and 13 here for the Irish Leonard takes a snap a little short screen pass got blockers to the 30 and short of the first down he'll be Dred down right around the 28 yd line so what will you do here if you're under Dame on fourth down and it looks like it's going to be the field goal team so that's what NRE Dame will do to try to tie this one up at three all boy a tough you know break there for under Dame to not get the first down Mitch jeder number 98 will attempt while ago and again was a game that where Miami just dominated 41- 17 and um other college football action still going on again we had a lot of college football action for you here in week number one but again it just been like a really quiet week here it seems like because we haven't had a lot of upsets but you know one upset that was not a top 25 match it was vanderbelt upsetting a veteran team like Virginia Tech that was the only upset that I think is Big throughout this week one so another Dame after that field goal will kick off again we're deadlocked at three with 639 remaining in the first quarter of play Touchback and Texas AUM will take over at the 25 yd line Texas aum's first drive they had an automatic first down and then they went three and out again the Oregon Ducks Dylan Gabriel making his debut as the or quarterback gets a touchdown pass to his wide receiver and the Oregon Ducks lead 7 nothing at the end of the first quarter of play that Oregon team could be very dangerous this year so watch out for Dan lanning's Oregon Ducks Texas ANM takes over at the 25 yd line first down and 10 Conor wean goes out of the shotgun Moss now goes in motion to the left so wean all by himself takes a snap wean going to throw left outside to Moss and that one's just a bad throw incomplete so second down coming up again Connor wean missed all of last year almost all of last year I should say with the injury so it is good to see him back and still playing in a Texas Anum uniform Notre Dame had two offside penalties on Texas A&M's first drive but they were lucky to get a stop there on that first drive of the game they're going to hand it off on a Jet Sweep and no gain on the play for Texas ANM and good defensive stop there by the Irish again Marcus Freeman is a defensive minded head coach so you kind of expect the defense to be the best strength of this Notre Dame team instead of the offense I don't think we're expecting a lot of points in this game because the over and under was at 47 and a half third down and 10 coming up here for the aies at the 25 and Notre Dame jumps again it's going to be another flag and it's a free play and now another flag comes out and it looks like it's going to be double penalties on Notre Dame one for offside and then one maybe for pass interference Marcus Freeman really frustrated on that sideline boy Notre Dame's arburn up on Alabama A&M 38-3 we've seen a lot of these teams take care of business in their first games which is you know sometimes very unlikely Kentucky and Southern Miss game has been in a delay for quite a while again there's been some weather that has been going on I believe throughout the day of college football Connor wingman comes out of the shotgun here on this first play Moss gets the first half for Notre Dame as penalties but for both teams as well it's going to be on the left tackle I believe seventh penalty on Notre Dame out of 59 yards Texas A&M has four penalties for 40 backs him up at about the 39 yd line as we're in the final seconds here of this second quarter of play and this first half of play they're going to run it here on the left side and still on his feet and gets out of bounds close to about the the 35 maybe the 40 yd line I should say got past the 40 so it looks like it's inside the 42 and looks like Notre Dame's going to let this clock run out and ago of course final score of that game was Miami 41 defeating Florida 41- 17 just an absolute Domination by the Miami Hurricanes today meanwhile Alabama opening up Kalin debor ERA with a huge lead over Western Kentucky last I heard they were up 42 to Zer at the half so great start for the Crimson tied in that Kalin dor offense and we'll see what the future looks like for Alabama moving forward it's Now 49 to Z in the third quarter but looking at this game we are all tied up here at six Notre Dame 6 Texas A&M six boy both defenses coming out really strong here in this game it has been a defensive battle for both of these teams let's now take a look at your first half stats for both of these teams looking at Notre Dame first they had nine total first downs in that first half third down efficiency one of six on third Downs they had a 139 total yards of offense and in that first half passing yards 74 Ry Leonard was 11 to 19 passing again 74 yards passing in that first half for him looking at the rushing yards for Notre Dame they got 65 rushing yards and then 14 times they have ran the football but the biggest weakness here for this Notre Dame team has been the penalties they have seven penalties for 59 yards they have to clean those penalties up in order to kind of win this ball game because if they can clean those penalties Up Notre Dame will win this ball game and they have no turnover so that's a look at the Notre Dame Fighting irishes stats looking at the Texas AA Mages they had nine first downs as well in that first half they also kind of struggled on third downs but were definitely a little bit better than Notre Dame three out of seven they had 127 total yards of offense and that first half 68 passing yards uh Conor wean was seven of 17 but through two interceptions so that was the inconsistency of that first half for uh you know Conor wingman again seven of 17 for two interceptions but again 68 yards of passing and then looking at rushing yards Texas a't in with 59 rushing yards they have ran the ball 17 times they had four penalties in that first half for 40 yards and then two turnovers again two of those interceptions thrown by Connor business against akan Tennessee take care of business against Chattanooga and a lot of these top 25 teams again just today just really taking care of business against their cupcake opponents and the Oregon Ducks are in action right now meanwhile the Kentucky Wildcats game is still in a delay against Southern Miss Oregan up 14 to zero against Idaho as of right now in the third quarter of play and then looking at other actions here Virginia up 27 to7 over Richmond and then we had Alabama of course up 49 to nothing over Western Kentucky Old Miss leads 59 to Zer against Ferman Kansas State against UT Martin they lead 34 to six and then looking at other matchups Houston trailing 24 to Z over unlb boy who saw this coming uh Houston obviously a team with Willie Fritz taking over as the head coach not a great start for the Willie Fritz era they are trailing 24 to Z with 235 remaining in the third quarter of play Baylor leads charlon State 35-3 and then looking at some other games here for you we got of course Michigan the defending national champions up by 10 over Fresno State 13-3 the Auburn Tigers lead at the half 52-3 seconde head coach UK freeze UCLA Trails Hawaii at the half 10 to zero so that's another Power four team down at the half and then Texas Tech leads Alin Kristen um 32-21 uh 937 to go in the third quarter of play Jord Tech up at halftime 14-3 against Georgia State SMU up 42 to7 definitely a lot of better performance um for SMU compared to the game against Nevada this past weekend and then other games down the list again that was just a few games that we um looked at that are going on right now uh Penn State defeated West Virginia early 35 to uh 34-2 a game that was in the weather delay for quite a while and then we had Iowa defeat Illinois State 40 to Z again the biggest upset I think would definitely be Vanderbilt upsetting Virginia Tech Virginia Tech had a lot of experience coming back uh you know in the country Vanderbilt pulls off the upset 34 to 27 Maryland defeats Yukon 50 to Z Louisville defeats Austin Pete 62 to Z 49 to Z Purdue beats uh Indiana State Pittsburgh was Victorious today 55 to 24 again Tennessee took care of business against Chattanooga 69-3 and then Oklahoma State defeated South Dakota State 44-2 took care of business in that game Texas of course did the same thing 52 to0 and then Miami of course earlier defeated uh Florida 41-17 so that was our first uh broadcast that we had a little bit earlier for you today Nebraska took care of business against UTEP 40 to7 Indiana took care of business against FIU 31-7 and then Syracuse beat Ohio 38-22 Iowa State beat North Dakota 21-3 they'll get ready for Iowa course next weekend Northwestern only won by seven points today 13-6 over Miami of Ohio University getting ready to start the second half of play again your score is all tied up 6 to6 between nutre Dame and Texas A&M our second game of course of our double header and we had Florida and of course Miami Miami earlier we had Miami come out on top with the victory 4117 great offensive performance in that game earlier from cam ward he was our Lucas Ross sports player of the game in that one kind of hard to pick a player of the game in this one because it's been player the game goes to the defense mainly um and everything I don't think that's really a bad idea as the second half gets underway Texas A&M kicks off ball will be returned from the 5 yd line by the Irish across the 20 yd line and gets to about the 24 so not a bad return there by the Fighting Irish again both defenses coming out really strong in this one again the biggest weakness for Notre Dame in that first half definitely was not just third Downs it was really about the penalties for Nutter Dam can they clean those penalties up here in the second half Texas A&M of course had a couple of turn turnovers in that first half that they forced and everything Texas A&M of course with two interceptions by Conor weeman first down and 10 here for the Irish at the 24 yd line Leonard gets a snap fires a quick slant over the right side broken Tackle by the tight end and it'll be close to the first down Cooper Flanigan I believe is the receiver that made the catch so it be shorted the first down but it'll be a yard short Ry Leonard was 11 of 17 in that first half lry out of the shotgun takes a snap hands it off to his tailback and nowhere to go didn't get anything on that run he'll get back to the original line of scrimmage and now it's third down and short coming up here for the Fighting Irish again Mike OKO making his debuted as the Texas A&M football coach the Mike ELO era is underway nutre Dame with a quick snap they go to the left and second effort can he get there Texas A&M got all over it Anderson got on top of it did the second effort give NRE Dame the first down I really don't think so so with that it's fourth down and one what does Notre Dame do here Notre Dame's going to go for it here in the early going of this second half wouldn't be surprised though if they took a timeout here Leonard out of the shotgun and that's exactly what they do Marcus Freeman calls the timeout so a first timeout there of the second half here for the Fighting Irish Marcus Freeman kind of a little bit upset because of the play clock Marcus Freeman and Mike Yoko you got to feel the kind of the frustration here for both of these teams because their offenses have been really really having a tough night in this biggest game of the weekend but I know going into this game it would be a defensive battle like how I predicted it on my week one predictions and week one in my video riy Leonard still on the field so the Fighting Irish are going to go for a risky fourth down here a fourth down and short Leonard out of the shotgun Leonard gets the snap quarterback keeper and he gets the first down and more and Ryan Leonard gets all the way out to the 41 yd line big first down and big fourth down conversion for the Fighting Irish Ry Leonard using that big weight of his to get the first down so now n Dame at the first down of the 41 Leonard gets the snap Leonard he's got time fires over the right side and it's too high and incomplete look like Leonard was going to take a deep shot there but instead try to do a check down and L Leonard and Ry Leonard's finger is he is clut clutching on his finger there but he is still playing hard second out and 10 somebody's got to score here a touchdown somewhere someday or later Leonard gets a snap he's going to hand it off and he's dropped back for a loss Bryce Sanderson number one with the tackle for loss drops him back at the 40 yd line so now it's third down coming up third down and 11 just underway here in the second half and we're tied up at six ball at the 40 ydd line nut Dame was is one for seven on third Downs Leonard out of the shotgun takes a snap Leonard to throw still looking Leonard now has to take off leinard almost got to the first down he'll be brought down right around the 40 sumon yard line and it looks like n Dame might go for another one here on Fourth and short it is fourth and one again the Fighting Irish converted on a fourth down on a quarterback sneak well they run the same kind of play Leonard out of the shotgun takes a snap it's a quarterback keeper Leonard trying to get to the second effort it looks like he did and Leonard's second effort gets the first down for n a and Texas A&M saying they got the turnover on downs but it clearly is a first down I don't know what the agies were looking at Notre Dame going for it on fourth down twice on their first drive here of the second half maybe there's a strategy here to keep that Texas ANM defense on the field for as long as possible and you see Ry Leonard on this second effort looks like he got the first down on that play but it's really tough to tail and now they bring out the chains here so a big first down kind of thing here short it is a turnover on Downs Texas A&M comes up with a big stop but I tell you what that looked like it was really close to being a first down as Marcus Freeman just got a smile on his face so Texas A&M will take over at Midfield when we watched it before the replay it looked like it looked like you know RI Leonard's second effort got the first down but it did not look like it was enough though score update for you Oregon only up 14 to7 over Idaho very surprising of a game there for or a lot of hype around that team and they're reviewing it here so yeah from the like you know normal angle it looks like a second effort by Ry ler got the first down and and this is a really tough call here again the rolling on the field is a turnover on Downs again it looked like Ry Leonard just got enough for that first down based on the second effort so here is the call wow and the ring on the field stands so turnover on downs and the ball will go back to Texas A&M so Texas A&M will take over with 1114 to go in this third quarter of play it'll be their first drive of the second half and they'll start at Midfield with great field position Conor wean comes out after throwing two interceptions in that carry and not doing much on that play either only about a yard gain on that play So second down and about eight coming up boy what a defensive battle it's been another score update for you with two minutes to go in the four Kansas State leads 41-6 so the Wildcats will start out one and0 B at the 38 yd line here for the aies second out of nine wingman out of the shotgun takes a snap wingman's got plenty of time over the left side incomplete Shay Calhoun the intended receiver for the aies and it will bring up third down coming up third down and about nine boy a tough day here for both of these offensive teams but the agias I believe are close to field goal range that they can take the lead with a field goal at 96 but they rather have a touchdown here Texas A&M two out of six on third Downs this evening we out of the shotgun takes a snap going to hand it off to Moss here on third down and doesn't get any yards on that carry so it is now fourth down so the aies I think will have to kick
