Texas A&M 2024 College Football Schedule Preview/Projected Record

[Music] what's up sports fans this is the Lucas Ross Sports channel we continue here with my 2024 college football schedule preview and projected record series the Texas ANM maggies are up next before we preview their schedule for 2024 and give them an early projected record based on how tough their schedule is let's take a look back at what Texas A&M did in 2023 here are my projections and predictions last year for the Texas AA magies my projection had them at 7 and5 and then my prediction for them was 8-4 so I did have a little bit of a difference there with my projection and predictions last year Texas AUM of course going 7 and5 overall in the regular season in 2023 but 7- six overall if you count their bowl game loss at the end of the year so I was right on the money with Texas A&M's projection but I was a little bit wrong there on my predict prediction here for this team last year of course Jimbo Fisher got fired at the end of the year for Texas A&M so Mike Elco taking over as the new head coach for Texas A&M we'll see what the future looks like for them uh with Mike Elco and everything we'll see if he can turn this program around here was the schedule last year for Texas A&M and they had a pretty tough schedule last year they had that one non-conference game against Miami here on the road back on September the 9th and they ended up losing that game but the rest of the non-conference schedule wasn't really too bad and then of course you look at the losses last year coming in the SEC they lost to Alabama and Tennessee both here in the month of October and then lost to Old Miss and LSU both on the road here in the month of November and that really was a tough schedule last year in the SEC I when you had to play Tennessee Old Miss and LSU all on the road and then of course Alabama here as well at home so that's the schedule from last year let's now look ahead to 2024 here is the schedule for the upcoming season for Texas A&M before we go game by game let's take a look at who Texas A&M will play in the non-conference this upcoming season this is their non-conference schedule they will of course play Nutter Dame in week number one to kick off the season that's a very tough non-conference game to kick off the year but the good news about this game is that you get it at home at least so that's the good news there if you're a Texas A&M fan and then you look at the rest of the games here in the nonconference they got MCN Bowling Green in New Mexico state so not a very tough non-conference schedule for Tex A&M but again when you got Notre Dame in the non-conference that does make it a little bit tougher but like I said the good news is that they get this game at home so again that's the really good news if you're a Texas A&M fan let's now go back to the schedule here for 2024 and go game by game now so once again they do kick off with NRE Dame here on August 31st again a big time week one matchup here in week one to kick off the season of college football in 2024 and then after that they do play MCN here on September the 7th so they will they'll play a couple of non-conference games and then they open up SEC play here on the road at Florida on September the 14th and then it's back at home here against Bowling Green on September the 21st then they um travel to Arlington on a neutral side venue they'll take on Arkansas here on September the 28th this game is in Arlington Texas every single year so they will play Arkansas there on September the 28th and then they get to the month of October they'll play Missouri here at home on October the 5th and then they get a byee here in the second weekend of the month of October they come out the buwe play Mississippi State here on the road on October the 19th and it's LSU here at home on October the 26 and then they get to the month of November they'll play South Carolina here on the road on November 2nd and then they get their second bye here in the month of November the second weekend of the month of November is when they get their bye here their second byee and then of course come out of the byee to play New Mexico state that's a pretty weird spot for a byee here for Texas A&M youd rather have it before any of these last two games here the regular season but anyways they do play Auburn here on the road on November 23rd and then they close things out with the Rivalry game against Texas here on November 30th so that's a schedule for Texas A&M in 2024 not a very tough schedule for Texas A&M uh you know compared to last year uh you do avoid Alabama on this schedule you don't have to play them on the schedule you don't have to play Old Miss or Georgia or Tennessee that's the good news but you do got some tough road games on the schedule still you got Florida on the road you got Mississippi State on the road South Carolina on the road and then Auburn on the road I think South Carolina Auburn and Florida are their toughest Row games but Mississippi state does have a first year at coach we don't know how good they're going to be but again you got four Big Time games here on this schedule for Texas A&M that are all at home you got Notre Dame in the non-conference and then for your SEC games you got Missouri LSU and Texas all three of these games in the SEC are at home so that's the good news there and those are very winnable games for Texas A&M so let's now get a projection here for Texas A&M based on the schedule and again this is not an official prediction this is simply a projection based on how tough the schedule is and here is the scale that I use here for my projections if it's a 1% game in the red that in that you know category those are counted as automatic losses there for Texas A&M in that percentage 20% games in the orange uh in this percentage are going to be counted as a couple touchdowns of underdogs 40% games in the yellow those are games where they're going to be a heavy Underdog in buy about a touchdown in the yellow at 40% 50/50 games will of course stay in the white games I think can go either way 60% games in the pur purple they're going to be favored by at least a touchdown and then of course 80% games in the blue they're going to be favored by a couple touchdowns and also by double digits and then the 99% games here in the green these are counted as the automatic wins here not guaranteed wins but they're automatic wins I will we do these projections so those are the easy wins here in this percentage so we'll start with that percentage first here for Texas and a& M for 2024 let's start with the green games here at 99% here for Texas A&M with the easy wins and I think you got three easy wins here for Texas A&M uh your three cupcake games in the non-conference you got MCN Bowling Green and New Mexico state now we did see New Mexico State last year defeated SEC team in Auburn but I really don't think Texas A&M is going to be really able to you know Overlook New Mexico State because they do get a byee before playing this game like I said that's a really weird spot for a bye Texas A&M but again you know I think they'll be big favorites in all three of these games that you're seeing in the green and I think these are automatic wins here they're not guaranteed wins but they're automatic wins like I said when we do these projections so I think Texas A&M will be favored in all three of these games by at least by more than three touchdowns and also at least by over 95% as well so you can count those three green games as automatic wins here for Texas A&M and then look you look at the rest of the schedule here as we head into our next percentages here I don't have any blue purple games on here for Texas A&M just because I think every game is pretty even let's go to the games where Texas A&M will be underdogs in I don't have any 1% or 20% games here uh for the aies but I do have a couple of yellow games on here in the 40% category in the yellow the games where there'll be a heavy underdogs in by about a touchdown and those couple games are LSU and Texas so I think Texas A&M will be underdogs in both of these games in the yellow against LSU and Texas these are really well talented teams uh again this is based off of where the teams were from last year and LSU is a home game and so does Texas here these are very winnable games here for Texas A&M that's the reason why I'm putting them here as a heavy Underdog I think they have a chance to compete in both of these games but I think there'll be a slight Underdog in both of these games just based off of the talent and also based off of Texas A&M having a first year head coach and everything but like I said these are very winable games here in the yellow and they are definitely some upset alert games as well for LSU and Texas is definitely a trap game when they do play Texas A&M here at home against Kyle Field and Kyle Field one of the toughest places to play in the SEC so I got both of these games in the yellow for Texas A&M again LSU and Texas I think they'll be heavy underdogs in both of these games they're not automatic losses but we really uh you know think they have a chance here in both of these games so those are the two games right think Texas a it will be will be about like a heavy Underdog G by about a touchdown and then the rest of the games here for Texas A&M are all 5050 games in my opinion Notre Dame Florida Arkansas Missouri Mississippi State South Carolina and Auburn I think all these games can go either way these are definitely very winnable games for Texas A&M and like I said you know it's not really just about you know like like I said it's not really just based off of how which team is going to really perform the best it's really just based off of the talent on both of the rosters and everything I think Texas ain't in playing at home though they'll be like it'll be a tight game between them and Notre Dame here uh Florida kind of hard hard to tell how good they're going to be but it is on the road so that's the reason why uh you know this is a 50/50 game if this game was at home for Texas a probably I probably would favor uh Texas A&M here in this game Arkansas of course um is a 50-50 game in my opinion uh just because that game is pretty close every year here between these two teams uh Missouri at home Missouri could potentially be a top 15 team and they really look like they're going to be really good this year but playing at home Texas AUM can make this one an even matchup Mississippi stay on the road here and and the reason why this is a 50-50 game is because this um this team also has a first year head coach and I think both of these teams are pretty even and South Carolina and Auburn I think are pretty even matchups as well for the yagis and I think they're definitely very winnable games as well and like I said if Texas aam was at home against South Carolina and maybe Florida they definitely would be favored both of these games at least by a touchdown in the purple but all these games are 50/50 games for Texas A&M I think they can go either way so let's now get a projected record here for Texas A&M based on this schedule and again not an official prediction this is simply a projection based on how tough the schedule is and we count those green games as automatic wins there then you average out these yellow games these couple yellow games at 40% and then you average out all the 50/50 games here at 50% and you split those 50-50 games and the overall projected record that you get here for Texas A&M comes out to be 6-6 here for 2024 so a 6-6 projection here for the Aggies a little bit lower compared to my last year projection for this team and again they have a first year head coach I know Texas AUM probably should be a really good team this year I don't think they're a top 25 team though in my opinion just yet I had to see what Texas aam does this year in order to impress me and also be a top 25 team as well so Texas A&M's projection for me is 6- six I think best case Center would definitely be around like 7-5 or maybe 8 and4 it wouldn't really shock me if this team did go 8 and four with the schedule that they have here and then of course it would be a disappointment if they went 4 and eight for a team that just won seven games last year but worst case scenario I think would definitely be 5- seven but uh usually a 5 and seven record is how you know first year head coaches usually finish in their first years as a head coach and everything but again my projection for Texas A&M is 6 and6 for 2024 give me your
