rivalry game where the results will be remembered for a lifetime remix as we'll see a squad from the ma the Iowa State Cyclones taking on the winners of three straight the Missouri Tigers for EA Sports college football I'm ree Davis joined here in the booth as always by David Pollock and Jesse Palmer guys let's te this one up another rivalry [Music] [Applause] game these teams have had this game circled all the way back to the beginning of the off seon so you got to be able to play Under Control with passion with energy with hatred because it's a rivalry game they'll keep your emotions in check and making sure I'm controlling what I can control he's Dro behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three well just nothing doing on that last run and they knew coming into this one they were going to be challenged right this is one of the best defenses in all of college football for them to have any shot they're going to have to do a lot better running the football that incomplete and probably fortunate that it wasn't knock free for a fumble the biggest lie college football coaches tell is nameless faceless opponent David game like this you know their name and you know their face you know them well and it does mean just a little bit Yeah the the fans talking in particular that's why it means more and that's why these players will be jacked out of their minds first down physicality wins football games being able to run the football and create balance and and right here just chews up another first down gives you another chance to maybe continue to run the football and I feel like this guy too is just an explosive play waiting to happen his vision his quickness and he's got a burst if you give this guy just a crease he's going to hit it and right now he's doing some damage on this defense gets it out fast and he Murs end Z touchdown tiger really nice job working the route and getting himself open he was able to locate the football snag it out of the air and this guy now has five receiving touchdowns on the [Music] year yeah MZ sophomore likes to throw the ball around and the pat makes it seven nothing that touchdown Drive covered 61 yds and the Capper a 19 yd toss for the touchdown he'll start the return inside his sp there you go there you go first man Iowa State sending the offense back out the last time we saw this offense we had to look quick it was a three and out Jesse air intercepted touchdown tiger what a great play by the defense and paying it off with the interception return yeah this guy really is the complete linebacker not only is he physical and not only can he play downhill to stop the run this guy is a weapon in pass coverage you saw on that play what can't this guy do make this man a star and the extra point will tack another one onto this lead they'll kick it off send that defense right back out there to try to score again after the pick six looking for blockers yeah number one down he go Iowa state has theall back the Cyclones ready to go on offense the big thing now don't get rattled by that last pick six David N it was a big mistake uh obviously the defense took advantage of it but you got to put it behind you Jesse I'm sure you know or two about throwing a pick six and and had a rebound I believe I've only thrown one in my life but yes I do because of that singular instance I'll say this you can't let that play Beat you twice you got to go out not try to get it all back here in one play Just execute the offense you don't want to see this trend continue last week he was sacked four times the offensive line This offense as a whole needs to get I don't know how glitch over like that and notter this defense has kept them backed up now one more stop and they can get off the field on Third and long they'll run it from the gun and he's going to make it the defense denying him the first down Iowa State sending the offense back out that Drive won't go on the Highlight Reel after ending in a punt they'd like to be more productive this time David and I think this offense has to be a little bit more balanced find a little balance between the Run Jesse and working in that pass and I think too David it's just going to take a spark it just takes one play to get this thing picked up and going going up top on first down and this will be incomplete a big hit there forces second down couldn't make the connection last time let's see if they throw it again easy they'll ride the running back and leave it with him that one did not go well tackled in the back field for a loss of six I'm not positive but that first down marker might be in the next count on Third and long does it need to take the check down and the ball comes out what a disastrous play defense covering up and not letting the offense get it back turn over and maybe this guyy was hoping somebody would bail him out like a Tuck Rule or something not going to be so lucky this time around give the defense credit this pass rush is serious it's real and this quarterback is now going to have to play with a clock in his head that's going off just a little bit quicker he's got to do a better job understanding when to get rid of Missouri has the offense ready to go on the field after a punt on their last possession they are set up in plus territory this time and honestly it wouldn't have mattered if they scored a touchdown their last possession you've got to be able to turn the page and see this as a brand new opportunity to go get points yeah and your defense has set you up for a position to get points right away now let's get this offense back rolling again create some momentum just get a few first downs and I'm in scoring position from the 17 yd line it's first and 10 wide receiver shows motion quarterback Mak adjustments with his receivers scanning the field it's cook he's got his man they'll get it down to the8 yd line on that throw and catch and the defense is backed up against the wall time winding down in the quarter as they come to the [Applause] line he's looking for an open man on second down got a man they get him on the ground and with that we'll head to the second quarter that's the end of the quarter and Missouri has the lead really strong performance so far to be able to build a lead here in the first period as we look at the steps now to see if they can answer this early Blitz here in the second quarter they'll try to open the quarter by cashing in on this big opportunity deep in the Red Zone keeping it on the ground on first and goal he pushes his way down to the four as they get closer and closer go back in we'll see if the offense can punch it in on second and goal jackb they'll put the tight end in motion on second and goal they go right back to him and he takes it to the house touchdown by these guys are really hitting their stride in week four as they push out that lead and Ma offense did exactly what he supposed to do with a start like that one when you're set up with that field position you're thinking touchdowns you're thinking field goals it's exactly what the offense does takes advantage of great field position wants to throw on first down the short hands it's Burton at the 45 on it way he will step out of bounds but not before the big pick up and a first down for this offense the Tigers come to the line with a fresh set of downs yep we just going to run the same play back to the air one more time they're working that left side [Applause] trying to convert this second and short quarterback checking the play wants to fire on second down it's complete to the right that is exactly what you're looking for when you talk explosive plays the defense finally able to make the Stop and as a defense how scary is it having to defend this guy he's one of the fastest players in America and you saw it on that last play it's not necessarily throwing him the ball over your head they just get it to him quickly the hard part now is running and tackling that guy not easy to [Applause] do they'll use the running game on first and goal a strong tackle and wrap up from the junior defense rolls up deep in its own end on that last play now a second and long coming motion from the [Applause] offense tuna tuna to the air it's cook incomplete he lucky to get that one back defense that close to an interception oo quarterback lucky that one wasn't picked you got to be really careful down here in the Red Zone cuz these windows are small and defenders close on the ball that one should have been an INT wide receiver coming across in motion squir squir quarterback checking off on Third and goal they'll try to throw it in touchdown tiger yeah we got away with that one the and this receiver is on fire he's got all the skills that you look for in a big time Target that's already his second touchdown of the game [Music] wide receiver now comes in motion squirel n trible trying to move the sticks on third down through the air he's got an open man they make the tackle but he's got a fresh set of downs and it's first and goal from the seven while he was putting up big numbers coming into this one we knew the quarterback was going to go his way early and often with that last catch he's now got over 500 yards receiving on the air wide receiver shows motion tuna tuna he's looking to throw got it he's all the way down to the 2yd line just spectacular execution there now it's second in goal quarterback will Audible go go squirrel squirel tuna looking downfield it's cook touchdown tiger and the Ping has started now they have extended this lead guys starting to put the hammer but sometimes a rivalry game can give you a little of extra fight back and there can be no Panic at this point now you've worked too hard this off season David they've had this game circled for so long you've got to play your best football right now and fight back and you just need something good to happen on this next possession you got to get the crowd back into this football game big rivalry get some emotion get some momentum on your side down to the 12 yd line it's first down motion from the offense they're going to ride this running back and I'm a fan of this man run the football eat the clock we got the lead this offense has put together a nice day man like just balance Rhythm timing play calling everything is worked that's why they built this lead they've had a great day today going to work in the Red Zone they can pick up the first down without getting it into the end zone they'll run it keeps the legs moving that's what you expect from a senior don't give them any extra yards great tackle there and the defense is still fighting they they haven't had the day that they dreamed of but you know talking to the coaches coming in the game like they thought they had a good plan they'd be ready to attack and and and limit some of the damage this offense has done they haven't done it today though they got to go back to the drawing board figure some things out cuz this wasn't a great day here we cross now the quarterback changing the original play call horn Li Li back to throw it's cook lets it go to the end zone down Sur and the route is on they give themselves a little more cushion as they try to reel off their fourth straight win and this always is the debate of where you fall it's your job to stop me or I should get conserved because this offense obviously has had themselves a day and apparently their day is not over they're going to continue to keep scoring and the defense better do something about it Iowa State sending the offense back out this has been an Old Fashioned and Fanny paddling David I mean they've just got taken behind the Woodshed and he's all bottled up and now it's worse the ball's loose defense just cradling that fumble and securing it there is little that warms the heart of a Defender like a strip sack even better if you get the ball and I like the awareness of this defender on the play because he knew he might not actually get to the quarterback and make the hit but he's able to still SWAT away use those long arms to create the turnover and while this game is all but decided the offense's job is to score so they might try to score again quarterback reacting to what the D is showing to the air it's cook I hit the wrong button tried the interception all day but they were lucky to get that one back here late it'll be second down and how about this offense they're they're not worried about the clock they're not worried about the score they're not worried about early and downs still trying to execute their offense still trying to make big plays and they've had a great day so far timber timber gorilla gorilla on second down he'll let it [Applause] fly what happen and the punishment has been extended with that the lead nice and comfortable and they cruising a four start there is D they made him disappear if there's time on the clock there is time to put more points on the board I mean the scoreboard operator need to work out too right yeah and I guess he's he's been getting it in the defense's job is is to stop but I would argue ree you can just take a knee if you take a knee run the clock you still get out of here and and you still get the win and after this play the cake will be baked looking to move it through the air a deep throw as the clock winds down and that pass will be incomplete and time has run out on this game no matter how much college football changes real and all of that kind of stuff rivalries are consistent and winning rivalry games well that's just the best because they hate each other so you take the field against your rival you're able to put forth a performance like that man I only got 236 passing yards D unbeliev effort here by the winning team bragging right now for a while bragging right for a while trying to force our to be able to accomplish now we also got to take in the next couple games CU this is always let down that naturally happens after these big rivalry wins we feel like our chest is poked out we got to look on to the next game focus in on this next one that's going to do it for us for conference standings I didn't separate division so you see South Carolina leading in the ACC you got Clemson Central Florida Florida State Miami wait for us dude the American Conference look at Old Miss we need somebody to knock off Old Miss Big 12 damn ball Big 10 this how we set it up I don't like to have teams with the same nicknames in the same conference so that's why the Big 10 looks like this that's why you got Florida International Florida Atlantic over here with all these Western schools Conference USA the independence now I did separate us so got Penn State right there Ohio State right behind us that's a tough division over there this our next opponent they giving up points they not scoring too many Wisconsin got a solid defense what's they defense overall they just have a good schedule and Mountain West I split them up ask some you pack 12 letc wait a second why is Mississippi State still over here Mississippi State ain't supposed to be over here that probably what was
