Olympics got all the onscreen gooss we want to know what's happening like in the Olympic Village yeah and you oh sorry sorry this is my bit um no I was going to say and you got a TV debut tonight we're going to talk all about that oh we do I thought we were going to talk about the bit of Australia that seems to hate me we definitely need to talk about that okay well let's get going so we can get it all done car and Tommy Monday Aro it's carry and Tommy I needed some help yesterday is what I did because I look trying to be fun mom trying to get out there you know show the kids how it's done um a few weeks ago I was uh skimboarding off the back of the boat y That's right I've been calling it the wrong thing that's what fun mom's doing you're scy you're doing it and that's what's important I just getting into a bit of water sports you know yeah we've told you that's got another meaning not in my world I was out there on the paddle board real fun mom in the other world and on the weekend uh we went up to see some snow dog to bogg and run I can't even speak at the moment to it what are you laughing at no that's got another meaning as well it doesn't matter guys you keep your meanings we're talking fun mom stuff I went to bogging and I and I so here's the thing there wasn't a lot of snow but I didn't let that stop it it doesn't need to be that's why that's what toboggans are for I know and I thought they did warn us as we there's a little gate you go past and they said look all of the tobogan runs are actually shut there's not enough snow so find a uh snowy bit and good luck and so we found a snowy bit but this tobogan run had a lot of UNS snowy bit as well and I think that was the mistake cuz I assumed you tobogan would just stay on the snowy bit oh you thought it was like a a reverse heat seeker a bit like a a lug it would just stayed you thought it had tracks on it yes it didn't and um just a piece of plastic what I thought being the responsible mom is of course I'd send the kids down first yeah you got to test it to be fair they they do bounce they're very durable and so the first so my son went down first and he went down with speed and I I I've not SE and he was careering towards a tree with his legs wide open I thought that's going to go right up his and so then I started thinking I thought this was just a bit of fun like it's you know no one's going to hurt themselves you didn't know you were at the X Games but no I thought no one can hurt themselves to bogging like you're on the ground you're not in the air you're on little no one can hurt themselves on the thing that has no brakes or steering and careers I and I'd be keing to here 13 1060 cuz I now that we're all through the other side safe in in one place I'd like to know um some of the things that could have gone wrong on the deogan slopes because then I so then the kids went down and they loved it I've never seen schools like it it was wild but they managed to stay pretty straight well the good thing about little ones is because they don't have as much weight wait they don't actually um uh shoot with such speed I also think they don't have the fear and I think the fear was what happened with me because I think the fear started really getting into my head and so as I launched myself off and I was very nervous but I thought look like you're not because the kids have done it your 5-year-old's done it you can do it and and sound like you're not oh absolutely I was in control of all of it um for the first second and then as I slightly veered off to the left and realized I then couldn't stop cuz there's no breaks and I was off the off the snow and onto the dirt bit by now and I was going towards a tree and i' for some reason taken my gloves off and something in my head said if you just put your hands out you'll be able to stop yourself and I couldn't and this is the sound that happened get laughing I know it s honestly sound I was in so much pain and I was so so scared and I was about a meter away from a ginormous tree and I thought this this fun mom stuff could go horribly wrong if you're not careful a couple questions why did you take your gloves off for the one moment you needed the most I've got no idea I remember thinking I'm not building a snowman anymore don't need them there is also another trick and I think this is what may have undone you it is true of all snow Sports um you generally go towards the thing you're looking at and I reckon in your I reckon in your moment of Fe to that tree St straight at the tree which means you end up going straight to the tree and then I couldn't I couldn't like Veer away from it I couldn't no cuz you were staring straight at no and there was also there's no way of steering so then I anyway it it was all fine I'm um I've got very sore hands and nothing bad happened after that I said no more tobogganing guys this is dangerous you made the kids stop yeah well just started with fun mom story I know but then I realized that things could go wrong um if if you stop the kids doing everything that you did badly they'll never be allowed to drive a car oh that's not fair remember when you crashed one seven times in two weeks I it was three times in two weeks no it's not seven let's not get three times is five yeah absolutely 13160 I need to know um tobogganing Tails gone bad because to me it's a bit of plastic a small slope and nothing really could go wrong but I realized as I was careering down towards my near death that things could seriously go wrong and I've been ke Keen to hear on your family holidays what happened yes cuz you know it's not always just the person on the toboggan I have seen some wonderful tobogganing mishaps where the kid is fine but the parent trying to catch misunderstands the force the Kitt is coming with and they think I'll just stop them with my shins and get B over give us call car and Tommy if you're Monday AR though it's Carrie and Tommy coming up very soon we're going to find out which part of the country is not a fan of Tommy at the moment yes I'm intrigued but right now specifically one there could be many but we're going to talk about one we're going to focus on one right now uh we're doing toboggan Tales took the kids tobogganing thought bit of fun chance for me to show them how it's done this was how it was done for me I was so bad I took my gloves off and I ended up like raising my hands down an entire to and run actually I stayed on the snowy bit for I reckon 5 m and the rest it was just dirt and like sticks and but I thought at the time nothing serious Could Happen though it's just a bit of fun a bit of Toboggan and Ken yeah yeah a little bit to bogging I had a friend Allan used to work on a ski patrol he'd go down there every weekend Friday till Sunday and he used to tell me about some of the horrific accidents on toboggans where people are ling flat on them hit hump up in the air when they come down they get neck problems Broken Backs and he says yeah and while he's treating people for Broken Backs and damaged spines they complain about their hands and when he looks at their hands same as you they put their hand down and you see bones scking out so yeah safe SP definitely safe SP so so Ken do you reckon it's it's um more dangerous than skiing or snowboarding um probably when when you're skiing or starboard you're waiting for or waiting to stop yourself it's a bogging you're just going in a direction it's ready you can't steer it which your heal to a certain degree but yeah I think it's probably but you probably also with like skiing or snowboarding you you get a level of skill before you do it or is De Boggan you just take the little plastic thing and you're like I got this anybody can do that yeah get on you Ken what about Julie hey Jules hey how are you good have you been to bargaining uh yes a long time ago what happened well my friends decided that we go to bargaining because we've never been to the snow before so I was like oh I can do this so they gave me a big push go down the hill there's like a little ramp of snow that's meant to slow you down I flew over that over the fence and into the car park oh my oh my God you landed in the car park was it snowy there or was it like cement no it was the road but so Jules Jules it was one of those was it one of those things where because you were in high school was that little ramp of snow enough to stop a kid but when an adult came at it in Full Steam oh no I was a teenager I was a kid at the time teenager is not a kid though like in terms of in terms of tobogganing size I think it was more the run up and the push that my friend gave me gave me the extra speed I wonder how often tobogganing featured in Funny's Time videos so often I think it must be a lot as someone who often threw to the stupid Clips on the project it featured a lot of the project Eli just showed me a video he took his nephew to bogging and they were coming down the slope and his nephew was behind him and he went to grab him to take a selfie and he grabbed him and then got to the bottom and realized he'd grabbed a different kid and his his nephew had veered off into a tree off the side so you just got a photo with a Rand got a video of him with a random kid get CHR on yeah very good what happened well I reckon everyone's doing toog um we don't do it well hold hold on chis we've you coming in and out are you saying that everyone's doing it wrong yeah that's right CU you have to drag the toog up the hill again so yes what what we do I've got an excavator and I hook the kids on the end of the excavator and swing them round and round and round flat out my God that is so fun dangerous what are they um what's under their bum uh an old plastic wheelbarrow tub oh that is so fun how many of you lost kids they always fall out but we make them where pushbike helmet so then don't end up with an acquired braining yeah yeah have you had any in bad injuries no not yet yet my wife nearly had kittens the first time I did it she didn't really trust me but do you know how I can't tobogan Chris you can't use and I have some more amazing Back stories for you there's been some couples at the Olympics there is uh a married couple competing a USA par Olympic sprinter Hunter Woodle and Olympic long jumper Tara Davis Woodle are competing in their first Olympics as a married couple in Paris how's this beautiful story they met at a track meet in um Idaho during their senior year of high school Tara saw Hunter warming up for the 400 while she was warming up for the hurdles and thought o who's that she says at the time she didn't know that he didn't have legs because he was wearing sweatpants then she went on to find out that Hunter was diagnosed with fibula hemia I think when he was born and his parents chose to amputate his legs when he was 11 months old and what he's gone on to achieve is incredible Hunter says he watched Tara racing the hurdles that day turned to his friend and said damn that girl's fine I'm going to marry that girl and here they are competing together at Paris I mean how incredible sorry Ed is a wonderful and heartwarming story bers if that's the only time he's said that because maybe why do you have to ruin it it's just gorgeous but maybe it's his catchphrase and every woman he's like damn that girl's fine I'm going to marry her and they're like oh God just cuz you're miserable let these people be happy I'm happy they just having a time of their life as are all the Czech X's who won Olympic gold did you see this in the mixed doubles so Katarina CIA cover and Thomas machak uh they hugged and kissed when they they won together the mixed doubles tennis gold medal and it was a beautiful moment they had a little kiss on the lips and thought that's peculiar uh there was a moment where he's holding her head in very intimate pose and the world discovered that knocked out she made it to the top 16 uh she's from Egypt and she posted saying what appears to you as two players on the podium they were actually three it was me my competitor and my yet to come to our world little baby my baby and I have had our fair share of challenges be it both physical and emotional the roller coaster of pregnancy is tough having to fight to keep the balance of life and sport was nothing short of strenuous she said I'm so um proud to have made made it into the round of 16 incredible but then there's also another woman called Yul ramazanova she's from Ab Aban that's it and uh she there is in archery she's in the recurve category of archery she's six months pregnant her beautiful belly sticking out there she said I was not just fighting alone but fighting together with my baby how beautiful you love it I mean obviously pregnancy is going to prot your body in in almost everywhere but you think for an Archer when they their whole time being almost the same weight but also just not moving and something goes to kick oh my God imag kick as soon as your arrow goes off know that would be a cheeky way to come into the world wouldn't it you know that timer cost you gold mom because um I just want to bring you a fun thing from the Olympics this was Snoop Dog just with a little girl and he gets her to rap about being clean and it's so cute clean up clean clean at the skating and then I ran into at the fencing last night um he was there with like leis Hamilton and Shawn W and um yeah mate you know what like he's pretty much conquered everything in life this is just his side quest that he's trying to do and um he's like the official unofficial mascot of the Paris 2024 games I don't know if the French knew that was coming that American was going to take over but yeah he's having a good time so I find it so peculiar Dylan because I was not across the fact that he'd commentated before so I was just like what is after the opening ceremony I like what's happening as an athlete do you love it or does it feel misplaced to you how do you feel great question k at first I I was actually in Paris when the torch relay and then next minute Snoop Dog's doing the [ __ ] walk with the torch right and I saw it and I was like what is going on and then I'll give him credit like I was at the skateboarding for the finals of the of the men's and women's Street and he wasn't just he didn't just roll in and roll out he sat there he got around the crowd everyone loved it and the energy when he was on camera to kind of pump everyone up it was actually pretty cool to see and I actually knew he was a pretty good basketballer back in his back in his Heyday before he took on rapping so um yeah he loved the sport and um I think my favorite was when he dressed up in the equestrian kit did he see that he's like 6' stha Stewart so I with Martha Stewart so good on him he's learing in so I even saw um I think it was Simone BS um see that he was in the the stadium watching her and she got such a pump up she was like oh my God it's Snoop and I thought oh well that's great then like if the athletes are stoked to have him there and he's not distracting awesome yeah I'm not sure Tom Cru is stoked he was there and I don't think Simone even cared but then when she saw Snoop she lost it so say hey D who is the um who is the athletes athletes like I remember um back in the day with the first Dream Team they actually kept them separate from all the other athletes just because they were getting harassed too much who who are the big stars that even all the athletes kind of want to want to get a rear sighting of yeah look it's still the the basketballers they've actually been playing in Le so they've come into Paris um as of today the quarterfinal start tomorrow morning Paris time shout out to the Boomers who are through um they're playing Serbia and um Nik yic the best player in the world which would be an unbelievable match so the the Basketball Dream Team but um K you said it before how Bloody good is Simone balls like the fact that what she went through in Tokyo she stood up for herself and her mental health she got criticized for that you know she's old in terms of gymnasts and she's come back and she has just absolutely ripped up this games and there's a swimmer from France called Leon Leon Marshon and he is like the Kathy Freeman of this games he is winning every swimming race that he's doing and like every single time that he his head comes up in the breaststroke they scream his name and I was at one of the races and you could feel the stadium shaking like I've never really experienced that at a sporting event like that the other time that I've heard it was like that was when Kathy was running um but I was too young to be there and uh yeah it's really cool to see um I'm not sure the French were fully keen on this to be honest and once the game has started like when that Leon guy swims I actually saw a cabie a cab driver just stop in the middle of the street and get out of his car blocking traffic and just watched it on one of the big screens in one of one of the cafes and then all the other cars also got out and watched it and I was like wow that's pretty cool and I actually just got Goosebump saying that at I feel pretty lucky that I'm here getting to experience that you know what I mean and if we can try and bring that energy into the screens of everyone back home you know that's what we're here to do well D you are doing an amazing job um but I have a question involving you and how much money you earn and that's next car and Tommy car and Tommy for your drive home we're still joined by Dylan orot who's our Wheels on the ground getting us all the Goss at the Olympics uh we've isn't it yeah especially your ex partner um you know what it was pretty beautiful on the podium wasn't it like they really did look at each other um lovingly uh I wonder who broke up with who one of them must have been better than the other but uh I think it was great that they could get it done but yeah you definitely you definitely haven't one more uh Rondevu in the village there's plenty of got two quick um queries for you about things that I didn't understand and you weren't on my TV at the time to explain them um the boxing so we've got an amazing boxing Katie Parker and um she won her quarterfinal and so she's through to the semi-final but this bit I didn't understand they kept saying that she's guaranteed a medal and she's our first female boxer to be guaranteed a medal but I would have thought with four of them left one of them wouldn't get a medal I would agree with you but boxing they don't have a so what happens in the tennis for example if you get knocked out in the semi you play off of bronze someone wins bronze someone comes fourth but they don't do that in the boxing they don't do a fourth and third place box off I'm not sure why I think it's something to do with head contact in so many fights yeah so they both get a bronze oh great answer thank you very much that's what I'm here for my second question is about the uh the cost of the gold medals deal of course man you can ask me know um Dill uh as you are more than aware um the par Olympics are also coming up I I'm interested because obviously a huge part of what you do is um not only showing young kids that maybe have a disability that kind of anything is is possible and and being a visual representation on our screens to normalize living with a disability there's been a lot publicized about um the amount each country wins for a gold medal and I think you would know the Australian number it was as just shy of $220,000 I think the Olympians got um for for a goal correct um you have a couple of par Olympic gold medals would do you mind telling us how much you got for them yeah I wouldn't mind being back paid that'd be nice um but uh we we originally didn't get anything and then um in Tokyo was going to be the same thing um and then we just wrote a couple of vulnerable tweets back in the village and I'll give the gov credit they are they understood that and they've matched the par Olympics to Olympics which is incredible awesome um however there is yeah there is a um Filipino gymnast who won Gold in the floor and he also won Gold last night here in the Olympics and he gets $296,000 a house a car and a boat that's not bad is it and then he won his second goal overnight Dron gets 2 I didn't realiz that in Australia you only get the 20 grand for the one gold if you go to win six Golds you're not getting it times six yeah you it's C at 20 I think the number one is Hong Kong you get $876,000 Australian I was an athlete i' just be going to live those places citizenships make my first appearance tonight very excited it is so exciting he loved it yeah a wonderful experience I do have to apologize to you Tom because I went in I feel like you cop a bit too much on that show I feel like you're unfairly uh maligned and treated and targeted and I went and I went in quite honestly with the intention of having you back yes and how long did that last well pack mentality took over and I just went with the people I was sitting with sure sure and so I'm sorry for that you sense a wounded animal and you've surrounded me no that's fair enough I'm used to it I'm not so much a host as as a moving Target uh but it's all part of the the fun and uh we love I re you give as good as you get oh thank you yeah I reckon you can hold your own you just you won't be worried was just an enormous Studio no no no well that's the thing up until then we assumed that TV studios were massive BN like places where they did hey he at Saturday or you know something like you know big reality talent shows and to see just a little intimate room we thought wow what a what a great space so yes shows have been coming out of there for decades he's working dog is it only 10 cuz they just celebrated 60 years is it only 10 that working dog have worked with or you've gone to other networks as well we sleep around um well ABC for of course and might have done a little bit of Channel 7 I think Channel 9's the only place we have't land a bit of Foxdale work in there well absolutely yeah so yeah for some reason I think nine is the The Late Show was originally done for Channel 9 as a pilot and they passed and said no thanks so we went to the ABC and went from there we're going right back into the Wikipedia Pages now aren't we we did that with an Bishop the other day got some then not be there I heard that Tommy did a lot of uh Chopper chat with Rob S is that one of the only reasons he was on just so they could talk about helicopters backstage Aviation once they get into that as you know carry it's a it's a a deep well well I didn't know that Rob was into Aviation oh no loves it loves it his dad was a pilot and back in back in the World War II so yes and Rob himself is is very qualified and far more capable than I am have you been flying with him um yes yes we did a we did a series The ABC called a river somewhere we we flew briefly from I think somewhere like kanara up in way up in the there you go well we we crash landed there Tommy no well we it was it was a proper Landing just a little bumpy did you feel nervous flying with uh I think so yes cuz it's it's feels like the only person flying should be like in full uniform with epolets and and not your mate not your mate that's why even the regional Airlines when they the pilots come out in short pants she go this is not going to end well well it's interesting cuz on Saturday my son went flying for the first time cuz he wants to be a pilot it was his first time up and watching it as a parent I was thinking going all the thought process of will I and when will I fly with him and how will I feel about that process yes and I wondered how different it is to flying with a friend whether you're as nervous or or whether you feel more confident in your son's it's it's similar but yeah that is a milone isn't it you're totally in someone else's hands of course the problem is is if your son does something wrong that's half your jeans so that's kind of your fault yeah well if he does something right though half that is very true very capable and competent up there um so who's on tonight's show with her one of the questions she asked was was about Megan the stallion oh yes and the way she said it how producer came out big said I will just get you to do that quick question again cuz I think you mispronounced her name and Chelle goes no I didn't and she was she wasn't mean shitty she was absolutely right she's she's a huge fan been to her concert numerous times so apparently we're saying
