we're set for a class between these two Rivals from the Mountain West [Applause] the aex will put total Lea and we'll get started and it'll come out to the 25 no attempt at a return so the boyy State Broncos offense takes the field and here's the man they want to get the ball to in this passing game this is the type of receiver David when he's covered he's still open I'm still he's still putting that hand up in the air coach I'm still open and more importantly his quarterback knows that they're going to move him all over the field they're going to open Runway ahead he just brought some serious energy making that huge play and getting it all the way down to the 23 yd line well after that last play you can see how electrifying this guy is and how special he is after he makes the catch if I'm on offense I'm trying to find a lot of ways to get him touches in this game to the ground with the back he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple now on second down linebackers trying to create some confusion give to the back and he won't quite get there but boy after that pick up just a few inches to go for the first an array of possibilities here unlock alert they'll try to run for it the Broncos get enough to move the chains you know this is a running back who wants the ball and he wants the offense to run through him really nice job there on the third down of this opening drive for his offense I can't wait to see what kind of game this guy's going to have he'll be brought down at the 5 yd line and this defense is on its heels going to work in the Red Zone they can't pick up the first down without getting it into the end zone they got him to jump the defense got into the neutral zone and that'll be a first down def the offense needed something just anything to give them just a little breathing room and the defense provided it with that penalty back to pass it's Nelson snags it and he'll go out of bounds just short of the goal line and they've got it right on the doorstep and the Broncos line it up with a first and [Applause] goal try to barge their way in Into The End Zone he goes touchdown Broncos they'll try to add another to their lead follow the blockers the offensive line will take you to the Hallelujah land and I tell you what most of the time Reese it requires a little bit of skill to find that hole and you know Slither through a little crack that was not a crack that was wide open didn't take a lot of vision cuz the blocking was outstanding on the move from inside is five didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 the Aztec offense will go to work for the first time as we take a look at our impact players for this game David what do you look for to make an impact from your leaders your leaders not only have to lead the football team but they got to step up and make plays on the field keep everybody C these guys typically do a really good job of it yeah David and they also generally set the tone for their respective football teams regardless of which side of the ball they play on the teammates look towards them to step up in big games like this takes a shot as he lets it go and he hauls it in inside the 30 touchdown aszx and once he found open space the band might as well start playing and he splits the uprights on the extra point aggressive play calling on that drive just two plays they get the long touchdown pass to pay it off after that latest answer tied things up just about set to kick it away again and no chance at a return here they'll start this drive at their own 25 boyy state has it back ready to go to work on offense boy David they would love to stack another touchdown on top of that last drive and this offense did such a a good job on the last Drive everything in Rhythm moved the ball down the field didn't make those mistakes Jesse and they need to do it again on this one yeah you're right they had the defense on their heels you wonder what sort of communication was going on that sideline what sort of changes were they able to make cuz they got to stop the bleeding right now defense showing Blitz trying to Rattle this quarterback power football with the Run they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one that linebacker was a heat seeking missile and the heat that he sought was the ball carrier yeah great job great fi linebackers are making all the calls in the defense and understanding when I need to come through that Gap and come through with bad intentions those guys are usually 245 lbs of heat seeking missile and that big Gainer on the last one has them threatening from inside the 10 they'll keep it on the ground for first and goal he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple well the most insightful analysis I can come up with on that one is that didn't work back to the drawing board to see if there's something that works a little better soon or if I can quote to Great ree Davis that was very UNG good not a productive first down play well this offense knew coming into this game they wanted to try to attack the middle of the field in the passing game and they're able to execute the end route there third and goal from way back there looking downfield it's Nelson going for six makes the catch several Defenders there to get him on the ground right there I think you need a better play call you got to help your quarterback out a little bit because the throw has got to at least make it to the sticks on that last play You're basically trusting the guy to make a and he takes it in for the score touchdown Bo now we'll hang on here the coach is called a timeout he wants the officials to take another look thinks he's got a good shot at getting this one overturned and how about this offense a big situation on Fourth and goal and you trust your running back you trust your offensive line you trust the physicality of this unit and they reward that trust and they punch it in for six the coach still thinks he was right the officials say he was not the challenges tonight and the timeout is gone and the pat gives him a 14-7 lead almost ready to kick it away after scoring the touchdown and he takes this from inside the five couldn't find a way to create that broken field as he stopped at the 25 first down for this offense he's looking to throw it he makes the connection and the defense settled in to stop that one for a short gain trying to throw the wide receiver screen to pick up that first down but the defense just too much speed getting to the ball carrier on that one wants to fire on second down he's turning it Loose into the middle fires and picked off taking it the other way and they capitalized not only on the pick but the great return to give the offense tremendous F position man that is how you get it done as a defense when you're playing cover one like you got the middle of the field safety but everybody else is Manning up nice job running with this guy seeing the football breaking on it making the interception making the big play for this defense they stop him almost immediately short gain there and still a little ground to cover to pick up the first while we're only through one these quarterbacks have been lighting up their stat lines we'll get this quarter going with a second down play defense trying to keep this offense from getting a line on who to block running back searching for a hole and the Freshman does a great job using his technique and getting the man on the ground and sticking to the run I tell you what a lot of teams that are really good are really stubborn and they continue to run the football even with little success so this off going to continue to focus on running the football you can tell well I think on that play you saw why this guy's such a big weapon in this offense at receiver he does such a nice job with his routes he's patient and he's consistent and he's got good hands you don't see him put a lot of balls on throws toward the end zone and the pass is intercepted and it's nice to be the middle of the field Saint that's my responsibility I own the middle if you want to come across the middle I'm going to hit you if you want to throw across the middle I'm going to do a good job breaking on the football unbelievable job you got to have Vision on the quarterback see it break it go get it give me that I int they're going to open this drive with a pass keeps looking down field crosses the 30 he got leg he's R out of bounds but not before turning in a big pickup and moving the sticks for a first down big play to start this drive now they'll snap it from the 39 quick release on the RPO and he goes out of bounds after coming up with positive yardage there hey I'll tell you what that slot receiver he may not be the biggest receiver in the world but he is Shifty and he runs really good routes you saw it on that play quickly to the tight end at the 45 on it way he's R out of bounds but a big play on that one and it'll be a first down and the Tech come to the line with a new set of downs they go to the ground open space at the 25 he goes out of bounds after the big play but there is a penalty marker on the field let's see what that one's [Applause] about just an obvious holding call there and one that just kills an offenses momentum looking for a productive play on first down he'll set up to throw dances away he's going to run it finally run out of bounds but he has this offense rolling with a first down the Aztecs have pushed it inside the [Applause] 205 touch pass on the Jet Sweep the defense wouldn't let him loose and even though it's in completion they lost yardage I like offenses being creative I'm I'm not sure if that was the best place to call that play I think this offense needs to think about just doing things a little bit more by the book they've got a lot of good Playmakers you don't have to reinvent the wheel this early in the game looking to throw on second down quarterback floating away from pressure and the pass is incomplete thanks to a big hit hey when you speed quarterbacks up like this and you hurry their thought process they're going to make mistakes that was a mistake there throwing into double coverage obviously not something you want to do could have been worse nice job by the defense Fire's on the move and he's going to score touchdown San Diego State lining up for the [Music] pat hit that one with some aggression for the point after that is an efficient drive seven plays 75 yds and they finish it up with a 15yd scoring toss and it'll be a Touchback the ball will come out to the 25 yd line the Bronco offense back out there ready to give it another spin after that last pick David they really need to take care of the ball this time no doubt and Palmer I want to know what spur said to you on the sideline after a pick do that again and you'll be right here beside me he's loose that defense got gas but they finally get him to the turf at the 47 the Broncos in the hurry up yeah how about this offense a little counter a little misdirection get everybody's eyes going One Direction they go back the other way nice execution by the offense to make the big running play down the field all right well the offense here they're trying to get this run game established they obviously don't break off a long run there but they're just trying to find their footing at this point looking to throw it's [Applause] Nelson fires to the big fella and he goes out of bounds after a nice pick up on that one a completion but not quite enough for the first down third down coming for this offense they'll try to get it through the air throws to the back grabbed on the outside it's Stone burer he's run out of bounds but he's got enough to move the sticks we'll take a quick break here two minutes play in the first half looking to go up top on first down he got a hand in there knocks it away incomplete after the incompletion looking at second down he's looking to throw unloads to the right holds it in and he almost ran away from everybody on that one a huge pick up on that play and the Broncos trying to pay off the threat on first and goal he's looking to throw he's got it and he'll step out of bounds just short of the goal line almost almost a touchdown but not in there yet they wanted to get the ball to the tight end and they've already done it five times and were not even to the half I'm about to say mission accomplished that's what they want to do take advantage of the matchup right zone or and throw to the end zone picked off and he's brought down and this defense gets the ball back for it's own this is obviously not a great start for this quarterback here two interceptions already in this game he's got to do a much better job with his decision making guys let's see what adjustments this San Diego State offense has made this time how big is this drive scored a touchdown the last time they had it defense gets a stop and now it's up to them in a tie game all right so if you're the offensive coordinator here let's dial it in who are your best matchups and best Playmakers to take advantage of this golden opportunity yeah and I'm interested to see this defense too like the momentum is clearly not in your favor how do you get it back how do you make a big play do you be more aggressive here to try to get the football back to your offense picked up two yards on the that last one they need eight on second down he's looking to throw he's got his man across the middle the offense calls a timeout to stop the clock if they're going to sit back in zone I'm going to make sure I know exactly what they're doing find those holes find those Crossing patterns and take advantage of that zone coverage to the air on first down he's going to take off on the move at the 30 he will step out of bounds but not before the big pick up and a first down for this offense and the Aztecs come to the line with a fresh set of downs wants to throw on first down pressure coming still on his feet at the 45 they got him free for a big gain her down to the 43 and you're seeing here the difficulties defenses have trying to contain this guy if you leave a lane open or you don't sack him right away and you allow him to get outside the pocket he is going to take off and he is very difficult to tackle in the open field he's got running back likeability out in space they'll use a timeout right before halftime maybe time for one or two more plays quarterback changing the plays at the line pocket starts to collapse he's out of bounds but not before picking up enough for the first down as the end of the second quarter that means it's time to join Kevin in our halftime update thanks guys looks like a terrific atmosphere there today in San Diego it's been a fun start to this one and this offense has really been the story they've opened up a sizable lead and unless something drastic changes things might get even more out of hand a combination of lethal efficiency and that offensive line has been the key they've mauled that defense and also just about broken their [Music] will the Broncos will kick it off to start the second half here he comes from inside his zone five not a lot of space to be found good Hustle by the coverage team and they stop him at the 21 the has Tech's offense ready to go back to work first drive of the second half always fun to watch you see what type of tweaks were made at the half especially when you're locked up in a ball game like this one yeah and it's been a good game I mean it's been a little bit of back and forth and a feeling out process and now once you get in the second half who's going to get aggressive Palmer who's going to take some shots try to make some plays and really go for it yeah it's interesting I think as play callor right now you learn a lot about these coaching staffs with respect to who does make the best adjustments there's a lot of coaches that that believe we're just going to be who we are we're going to keep doing what we do we're just going to do it better but then there are others that tweak things a little bit on offense and on defense we're going to find out here trying to escape and get it himself man that used to just drive me nuts I couldn't stand that the quarterback drops back the pass scrambles around you got me chasing you all over the field getting close to the sideline stay in bounds please stay in bounds let me get a little bit of a reward for all my running so I can just put some kind of hit on you nope steps out of bounds and they'll line up from the 31 on first down gets it out fast a most efficient pick up of six on first down it's second and four I love offenses and quarterbacks that are willing to take the easy stuff take those easy throws that are guaranteed to get positive yards yeah I'm going to take big shots down the field too but don't forget it's easier to pick up second and five third and five and it is when we start getting those long yard of situations couldn't find his man last time now they'll have to convert third and four here's the snap itching to fire down field he looks that one in nicely and they stop him just short of the stick it'll bring up a decision on fourth down they really have no choice here this is a no-brainer you go for it here on this fourth down he's got him and they convert not much of a fourth down Gap when it's that much of a sure thing an easy conversion for this offense the Aztecs are moving quickly down the field the aerial assault continues how about that play to get a hand in there and force the incompletion well I know that one fell incomplete but what a day this guy has had throwing the football multiple touchdowns and he's done a really nice job with his decision making hasn't thrown any picks which has really helped keep this offense on schedule just what they were looking for and he's got him set up in business at the 35 with a first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs they move the tight end all over from the shotgun the inside K they finally make the stop with the big run is plenty to move those sticks for the first down and the Aztecs moving quickly to the line from the Red Zone looking for a man here comes the rush and they've got him wrapped up at the 28 this drive was rolling and then it got thrown into reverse here's a second and 18 off the play fake and he feels the heat coming and it burns him up another sack and we might as well State the obvious first and second down didn't work out third and very long looking to throw and he needs a chunk play that pass has not close as he got drilled trying to deliver it and it'll bring up fourth down no hesitation at all the offense stays on the field they'll go for it on fourth down they'll throw for it getting some heat they stop him short of the marker and they'll turn it over on Downs great coverage on that fourth down play nice job blanking the receiver out wide the defense you could tell they knew they were going for it they had a game plan they get the big stop and turn it over to their offense not much he could do there does pick up two to the 34 after picking up a couple it's second and eight they'll ride the running back and leave it with him and the first guy couldn't get him but the second one does but not until he picks up the first down now a first down from the 45 yd line moving the running back trying to get the D to tip it hand it's complete to the left there to make the tackle but the big throw is good enough to give them a first down and the Broncos come to the line with a new set of downs back to throw it's Nelson using the quick game tackled immediately after the catch this quarterback right now is in a Groove and he's doing a nice job in prap he's reading the coverage and he's getting an idea of where he wants to go with the football that's why the ball's coming out of his hands so quickly that's why he seems like he's in a great good and he's a real Nowhere Man tackled in this no gain land let's see what they do on third down from the gun wants to pass throws to the wide out finds a man on the right he's run out of bounds but not before turning in a big pick up and moving the sticks for a first down they fought tooth and nail through three and it is all locked up as we take a look at the stats they'll break the seal on this quarter here on first down they'll go to the ground he get him down Tough Run picks up four they'll mark it at the 19 looks as if we have an injury on that last play and we'll take a break to check him out leaves it with the running back drives into the defense and they get him down after a pickup of three to the 16 they've controlled the football on this drive the eighth play will be a third and three they'll try to pick up the first through the air and he just throws it away that is not what you're looking for on third down fourth down coming up and now on fourth down they will put it on the shoulders of the kicker to save them with his foot and he missed it no good and after the Miss field goal guys we are still locked up guys we're about to get another look at this San Diego State offense trying the left side not much there picks up a couple to the 22 picked up two yards on that last one they need eight on second down might as well stick with him and he runs through one tackle and picks up a few you got to think they'll try to muscle their way forward on Third and short from the 29 they'll try to get the first through the air the throw to the outside is complete he steps out of bounds but he's got enough for a first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs they'll throw it on first down makes his connection he's brought down quickly minimal gain there still a bit short of the first down man down on the play as the officials take a break to let him be checked out and here comes the offense on second down looking for room it's Sutton and they'll pick up the first down and Mark it at the 47 the Aztec want to pick up the tempo to the ground he's got it again and a pick up of eight opens a world of opportunities on second and two after the good pick up on first down let's see if they keep it on the ground trying to get to it and the quarterback is snowed under when it's a playaction pass that quarterback he really has to sell the fake he can't tell his offensive lineman's getting beat right away while he's selling the fake he had no shot got him man it's Sutton and he's not going to make it the defense denying him the first down tie game here late in the fourth they want to control the ball and they're not going to punt it away they'll go for it on fourth down it's incomplete and they desperately needed to keep that drive going and they couldn't make the connection here comes the offense on first down the GI to the back and they try the middle of this defense and that is not happening got stuffed on first down it's second and 10 dropping back it's Nelson unloads to the wide out find space on the right they make the tackle at the 36 but they're in plus territory now with the 15yd pickup the defense has their hands full trying to stop this guy in the slot they're going to have to figure something something out to bracket him try and get two bodies around and maybe get some safety help as well cuz right now they do not have the answer for this guy from the gun the running back has it that back had absolutely nowhere to run the football actually is he counting I think he's counting to make sure there's only 11 guys on defense the clock stops as we have reached the final two minutes of the game he's going to pass on second down and will be incomplete this is some physical pass defense if they tried the field goal from here it would be 53 ydd they'd love to help the kick her out on third [Applause] down out of the gun the give to the back just what this offense was looking for sets him up at the 26 with the first down the Broncos come to the line with a fresh set of downs they're going to go right back to him on first down able to scr three yards out of that one somehow it's second and seven quick timeout by the defense there trying to make sure everyone has the same call got three on first down it's second and seven from the gun they'll try to impose their will that's what you expect from a senior don't give them any extra yards great tackle there referee signals timeout it's the defense wanting to make sure that they have everything just right with a big play coming on the run it's Stone burer tackled after picking up the first down well that's kind of the advantage of third and medium right is the defense you keep them guessing you could throw it you can run it that time they hand it off and they pick it up yeah and you can see the d drop back a little bit it creates a little bit of space the running back blast through gets the first down and as time is dwindling away in this one the offense is set up first and goal a great opportunity to get the goahead score and they try to run inside and there is nowhere to go the defense calls the timeout and that's their last one of the half trying to Surge it in and maybe they want to try somewhere else because there is nothing doing in the middle of this defense if they can get it in here we could have a thrilling into this game it is third and go trying to barge in that just never had a chance as they controlled the middle of the field and stopped him in the back field on third down so here we are on fourth down and this field goal kicker is going to face all the pressure in the [Applause] world that is no good after that fail field goal attempt spell still tie ball game the offense lining up for a first down play that's just one the kicker would love to have back here in the fourth quarter in a tie game he wants to go deep and that'll be incomplete they tried to hit him with a big one on first down after the quarterback and receiver failed to hook up they'll try it again on second down he's looking to throw coming after him takes a hit as he fires pass is incomplete and we dwindle down to 7 Seconds you make up the game plan and not a lot on the play sheet for this third and long from inside their own 20 easy early movement on the offense will push them back a bit false start offense the officials offer the deal and the coach accepts it they will take the penalty not exactly the ideal situation for this offense third and long backed up inside their 20 looking downfield and he needs a bunch trying to make magic on the scramble and sure tackling there to keep him from getting to the first down marker well guys let's play some more headed to overtime and this just feels right both of these teams going back and forth so of course David this thing needs to get decided in OT let's see who's better short amount of time to do it a couple possessions probably maybe one possession each who's the better team got it so here comes our first play of overtime on the run it's Stone burer they wrestle him to the ground but he's got plenty for magic number for touchdowns yeah it's as easy as ABC goodness gracious he's been getting whatever he wants whenever he wants however he wants I might want to change something up or maybe focus on that guy that's getting the football a lot and scoring they know what's in front of them they have to answer that score with a [Applause] touchdown he'll PLL it on the read and this one will be stopped for No Gain No on the offense gets set for second down he's looking to throw fires to the middle freshman trying to take a shot but put just a little too much on it third down in overtime they have to
