[Music] welcome to Boom picking Stadium Still Water Oklahoma home to the Cowboys of Oklahoma State Pistol Pete ready to start firing those pistols for the battle we have in store we believe we've got a great one in store today and we've got a team that makes it into the top 25 now when you go on the road that's when you prove you belong as we'll see the number 13 team in the country the Alabama Crimson Tide taking on a team from the Big 12 the Oklahoma State Cowboys for EA Sports college football Reese Davis with you alongside David Pollock and Jesse Palmer and guys can't wait to get this one [Music] [Applause] started boys will kick it off to get us underway here's the return from inside is 10 really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 the Crimson Tide offense takes the field to start things off here he comes and obviously defense is always going to be aware of a quarterback but boy he finds a way to put defenses on their heels all the time David I mean what can't he do he's got the weapons he's got the confidence he's got the experience J these kind of guys are so hard to defend you're right they better be able to find a way to get pressure on him cuz if they don't this is going to be a long day looking to go up top on first down and they couldn't hold off the heat and he goes down with the sack looks as if we have an injury on that last play and we'll take a break to check him out not a lot of productivity on that last play they'll try it again on second second along from the 23 from the gun they'll give it on the inside they bring him down but a solid pick up to put them in position to pick up a first down third down conversions are a huge stat and this one would be a doozy if they can pull it off wide open downfield they make the stop but this passing game does some damage and they move the sticks with the first down from the gun the running back has it at the 40 there he goes his defense giving up ground as he's finally knocked down at the 26 defense is going to have their hands full trying to stop this guy they better rally to the football and get multiple hats cuz he is not easy to bring down they're going to ride this running back and a pick up of eight opens a world of opportunities on second and two Alabama trying to cash in on this Red Zone trip from the shotgun the inside K Slamm to the ground but not before he gets the first down offense walks through the line for play number seven of the drive they'll ride the hot hand relying on that running game inside the Red Zone he picked up three to the 11 got three on first down it's second and seven dropping back it's Hicks he makes you grab that completion will take it inside the four and the offense is threatening on first and goal let's see if Alabama can get it in the end zone and he takes it to the house touchdown Crimson tie you love as a head coach to watch your offense take the field and establish your Rhythm and consistency the way they did there everything they dialed up was working to Perfection they go 10 plays on the opening drive and cap it off with a [Applause] touchdown P unit on the field for the exra point and the extra point makes it 7 nothing about to kick it off after punching it in in for the touchdown and he takes this from inside the five nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the 16 so Oklahoma State offense has the ball for the first time here are our impact players for this game and it goes beyond executing an assignment to make an impact in the game yeah obviously we were talking to both coaching staffs this week and we asked them who needs to step up and play while they immediately pointed to these guys right here they are the key for their respective teams yeah and they don't always show up in the Box SC but these the guys are the leaders these are guys getting everybody organized and have to play well for their team to succeed to give to the lone running back pretty good job of running to get two there to the 32 after picking up a couple at second and eight the give to the back this wor in and poking and prodding and finding his way up to the 36 after the strong run on second down third down coming do they do it again he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three and the Cowboys send out the punt unit the punter going to get his first work of the afternoon he gets a buck coverage team was down there to Coral him they made the Stop and they'll mark it at the 39 the tied offense roll onto the field there wasn't much need to throw it around on that last drive for the touchdown Jesse they got it done running the ball and David I don't think you have to overthink this thing if they can't stop you running it why would you stop handing it on just keep at it here on this drive well and if I'm the defense I'm making some changes I'm bringing in more big bodies I'm playing more aggressive towards the line of scrimmage I am not going to let them have that kind of drive again quarterback by himself in the back field they'll try to get the first through the air he's got an open man and they were looking for a chunk play and they got it the explosive picks up more than 30 well after that last play you can see how electrifying this guy is and how special he is after he makes the catch if I'm on offense I'm trying to find a lot of ways to get him touches in this game catch in the middle it's Garrett so close to that end zone he could almost taste it but it'll be first and goal for this offense they'll try to blast their way in one step W Two Step squeeze as Junior knows how to get him on the ground offense trying to pay it off on second and goal tries again to get it in he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three third and goal where the fire purifies and separates contenders and Pretenders looking for a man it's Hicks it falls incomplete he was trying to find his man for six now on fourth down here comes the field goal team and the try is no good and the margin is still seven after Miss guys and that's just the Chip Shot that's just a field goal they got to make [Music] Oklahoma state has it back and the offense is on the field they hope to be able to cash in on this drive David after having to punt it last time yeah and I think this offense needs to start it with the first play you need to be successful and productive on that first play and it gets you in less predictable situations no doubt too don't you just feel like there's a little bit more sense of urgency on this drive it just feels like they've got to be able to put some points up on the board here they'll run it from the gun and he'll pick up one it brings up second and nine got a little work done on first down now back to the line dialing up a second down pass play throws to the tight end a strike downfield they are finding soft spots in this defense he's got it down to the 25 the Cowboys want to pick up with Tempo man if I'm a defense I got to find a way to get some more pressure on the quarterback or disrupt their timing and their Rhythm I can't give him these big chunk plays through the air I got to be maybe a little bit more aggressive or do something a little bit different lost one on that last one it's second and 11 pocket starts to collapse just too much heat that time and they knock him down at the 31 and it is hardly a big surprise that this Al defense is hitting hard and making their presence felt in the back field it's what they built their brand on they built it on physicality and stopping the run and and you've seen over the last several years too after they do that they come after your quarterback and they try to get that sucker on the ground on Third and long he'll need to push it downfield getting some heat and the pressure gets to him again another sack you got third in this long everybody knows what's coming it's going to be a pass defensive lineman get to tee off they know exactly what's coming go get the quarterback it is your dream that is what you live for it's what you practice in the offseason for I want sacks just like that and the Cowboys decide to punt it away this will be the second time they've had to kick it away make sure that there's not going to be a return on this one balls out of bounds and I think they'll mark it right around the 25 makes the quick grab and the defense settled in to stop that one for a short gain now on second down out of the gun they give to the back he's got a yard out to the 30 yd line ball sitting right at the 30 it'll be third and short to the air it's Hicks fires to the tight end and he couldn't quite get to the marker and that's going to bring up a fourth down Alabama will bring the punt team on the field he's going to try to flip the field with this one here's the fair Catch and he'll make it close to the 20 yd line Oklahoma State hoping to get the pistols firing on offense they just didn't quite find the Rhythm on that last Drive Jesse they had to punish I think they got to be more physical David I think up front they got to do a better job getting blocks and establishing this running game and how easy does football become if you're the more physical team if you can threaten the run and then then run play action it opens up the whole offense at your disposed lining up to convert third down to the ground to try to pick up the first and they did not let him reach the line to gain it'll bring up a decision here the Cowboys will punt this one away they'll look to pin him deep might have thought he'd want to try to pick up a few yards there but he's content with making the fair catch right around the 35 yd line from the gun running back on the Move good job running tough and behind his pads as he gets up to the 38 yd line halfway there on first down it's second and five off the play fake quickly out to the tight end really nice job there by both guys the throw and the catch to work that defense and get the first down the evolution of the Alabama offense has always been built around what does the quarterback do best and this guy's doing a lot of things well and we've seen some Sensational ones and to your point I like that Jaylen Herz really good runner they built it around his feet you know Bryce young really good passer two Tong of Alo really good passer more about the passing game explosive passing play so they'll do whatever it takes to win and it slips through his fingers incomplete that would have been a huge game if he could have held on they keep attacking through the air can't make the connection on third down thanks to that tough hard noosed pass defense and now it's fourth down no return possible on this one it goes out of bounds and they'll mark it right around the 30yd line Oklahoma state has it back in the offense is on the field looking for room it's Fields defense closed down quickly after a gain of three they'll mark it at the 32 after the three- yd pickup they come to the line Second and seven they'll put the tight end in motion running behind that left side nowhere to run on that when he loses four on the carry let's see what call they have on Third and long from the 28th back to pass it's Fowler he's got his man and sure tackling there to keep him from getting to the first down marker and the Cowboys line up to punt it away fourth time tonight we've seen this guy come on to punt he only needs a sliver of daylight coverage team able to put a stop to that return at the 42 yd line so we'll see the offense on the field start this drive the run from the shotgun at the 45 on it way nothing but green ahead oh he thought for sure he was going to be able to house that one but a huge pick up all the way down to the 12 yeah it was explosive but shoot Reese could have run through that hole I mean it was wide open he didn't have to break anybody's ankles he have to run through tackles I mean just great blocking up front and horrible horrible defense Alabama quickly back to the line might as well give it to him again really important for a ranked team going into a hostile environment like this one not to give the underdog reason to believe yes reason to believe and don't give the fans reason to get jacked up and and it'll be intercepted in the end zone and the senior just snatched the ball out of the air and gave it back to his offense what a nice play by the DB there when that rain starts coming down the ball gets a little bit heavier the quarterback throws the ball a little bit lighter DBS can take advantage sometimes of some underthrown balls go out and make some big plays Oklahoma State hoping to get the pistols firing on offense their Drive chart is starting to look a little monotonous punt punt punt David and their defense is starting to get a little frustrated too they just keep putting me back on the field possession after possession Jesse this offense needs to get their heads out of there you know what the punter's on the sideline with the oxygen Ms right now he's been playing so much he's not used to this this offense they just got to stay on the field they've got to put a drive together and get some balance going running and throwing the ball it'll be a draw and boy is he close to that first down maybe just a couple of inches short the Cowboys will punt it away on fourth down and may have to pay him overtime he's punting for the fifth time today he's got great speed he'll put a stop to that return as he gets it up to the 41 yd line first play of the drive comes from the 41 out of the gun now run it inside I'll tell you this is a running back who's very very dangerous and the defense did a good job getting him down there but they got to do a great job gang tackling because this is a guy that can break tackles and turn those types of plays into home runs he makes the catch close to mistakes but he'll be a little short of the first down a completion but not quite enough for the first down third down coming for this offense to the ground to try to move the change that just never had a chance as they controlled the middle of the field and stopped him in the back field on third down fourth down and the punt team sends it the other way on the return it's Fields he'll get it to about the 25 before they put a stop to the return Oklahoma state has it back and the offense is on the field they've hit a bit of a lull here and they need to get things cranked up with this position they get enough rush and it's pays off the sack at the 20 and they've been waiting for something good to happen with respect to getting after the quarterback right they're outside of the top 100 in the country in sacks per game but finally now you see they're generating this pass rush three sacks on the game so far didn't help themselves much on first down let's see what they've got on second down from the 20 here's a quick throw after the left and a good job in coverage there as they stop it after just a few now facing a third and long dropping back it's Fowler it's complete on the right side and he's not going to make it the defense denying him the first down fourth down and the punt team sends it the other way makes the catch and now looking for just a little bit of daylight working his way on the return up to the 40 yd line before he stopped they'll give it to the back they make the Stop and that will likely bring us to the end of the first [Applause] quarter so Alabama takes the lead into the quarter break we've played one before we move on let's have a look at the stats lots of time left and we're ready to get back to it and open the second [Applause] period caught behind the line it's Garrett nice pick up there gets him the first down and sets him up at the 45 yd line here's this offense with a fresh set of downs from the gun give on the inside they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one lost one on that last one it's second and 11 right back to the well they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one a third and long coming up here from the gun wants to pass he took a hit as he threw it and couldn't deliver the football it's incomplete and fourth Down's coming looks as if the tide will punt it away he's getting a lot of work fourth time he's punted tonight signals for the fair Catch and that's where they'll put it in play just outside the 20 Oklahoma State hoping to get the pistols firing on offense takes a hand off it's Fields maybe picked up a couple he's down at the 24 picked up two yards on that last one they need eight on second down right back to the well plows through the defense moves up to the 34 yd line give him a 10yd pickup they've got a first and 10 at the 34 gets it out fast tackled immediately after the catch went to the running game on first down now here they come again and off from the shotgun nice move to stay on his feet he's run out of bounds but he's got enough to move the sticks this first half of offense won't go on the Highlight Reel so far but starting to get things moving it's first and 10 he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three offense gets set for second down looking to throw it's Fowler I don't think that's the way they drew it up incomplete they line up and it is a long Long Way to the sticks from here on Third and long no secret what he needs here trying to escape and get it himself and he avoids the hit and slides after the short game and the Cowboys will call on their punt team kicks it high and it's just hanging there as if it has helium in it and floating down toward the O here comes that Alabama offense they missed an opportunity to extend this lead the last time they had it Jesse yeah they got to be able to regain that momentum right go back to what was working earlier on in this one day but to me that starts with being the more physical team oh I definitely agree being the more physical team but understanding the situation of the game you're still winning you got the football back now put a nice drive together and execute and after that last run we'll see if they keep it on the ground on third they'll try to get it through the air they're bringing heat using his feet to buy time and he scoots his way to the first down and then slides to avoid the hit here's this offense with a fresh set of [Applause] downs a seven yd pickup it'll be second and three after the good pickup on first down let's see if they keep it on the ground looking for room it's monre and he's tripped up but not before picking up the first down here's this offense with the fresh set of downs they'll throw it on first down grab behind the line it's concrete and he'll make his way out of bounds after the solid pickup and guys this is a great time to take a shot if you want on second and short he's looking to throw excellent coverage and good use of the hands to knock it away after the incompletion on second down it's third and [Applause] inches gets it to the back across the 25 he's got room and he'll take it in and house it touchdown Alabama offense slips the running back out of the back field nobody decides to cover him my man makes the play shows off the hands first got to make the catch first does the rest walks in the end zone for the touchdown [Applause] he'll try to tack on one more the kick is up and good and put one more on the lead personal foul roughing the kicker defense so the decision has been made and the coach will take the penalty they're lining up to kick it off and he ought to be able to knock this one anywhere he wants after that extra 15 yards with the roughing the kicker first down here for the offense complete to start this drive he's run out of bounds but not before turning in pick up and moving the stick for a first down and that's first out of the gun the running back has it not much working there it'll be second and nine tried to pound it on first down now back to the line on the run it's Fields he tried to find some Running Room but they get him stopped third and long from the 42 if they can get some of it it might give him a chance to go for it on fourth down from the gun wants to pass got him downfield oh look out there he goes pistol firing touchdown cowboy and once he found open space the band might as well start playing and what a nice start for this offense the throw game getting working getting the touchdown pass this quarterback getting a little bit of confidence this passing game getting in a rhythm nice start for this offense [Music] [Applause] now they'll line up for what they hope is [Applause] automatic and it's up and good as they draw Just a Touch closer we check in with Kevin Connors what's going on Kevin Hey guys let's take a look at what's happening in a a great top 25 matchup Missouri has the lead right now Columbia has just been jumping all week but this game is hardly over there is time left on that clock they're up by eight over Oklahoma will Circle back if anything changes in this exciting college football matchup oh and how about that I know Kevin and those guys will be keeping an eye on it for us to the ground he's got it again breaks the tackle he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple now on second down back to throw it's Hicks and that pressure just engulfed him a sack from this defense this offense is going to have to come up with a plan to block this guy he is an absolute monster and he showed you all his tools on that sack and whatever they did on first and second down don't do that anymore third and very long coming up looking downfield and he needs a bunch and that one's incomplete they weren't just trying to move the chains they were trying to move the scoreboard instead it's fourth down yet another punt on the way got to make sure that hamstring stays loose he's been busy Oklahoma state has it back and the offense is on the field Jesse looking to take it down the field for backto back touchdowns I think it's really important for them moving forward too to have a lot of balance right you want to be able to keep this defense guessing yeah and you got me searching for answers after that last drive you stack another drive on top of this their defense's heads are going to be spinning all over the place quarterback tried to scramble around for a while but the defense able to bring him down man that's an impressive play this dude is so dominant and I'll tell you we don't have enough time in this broadcast to list off all the great Alabama D lineman especially in recent years that play right there that reminds me of a guy I played against back in the day Cornelius Griffin playing on the inside of Alabama's defensive line you knew every single time you drop back you were going to have that guy in your lap he was always pushing the pocket and he was always collapsing it with his speed and athleticism and his first step that last right there reminds me of some of these great players we've seen on the Crimson TI D line here in recent Years first runs through the tackle he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple and now on second down for this offense looking to throw it's Fowler fires to the right got his man downfield bust through behind his p a huge gain on that one before he ran out of bounds and he has the first down knocking on the in the Red Zone he's looking to throw it finds his big tight end now a couple of times historically that the SEC has reached into the Big 12 during an expansion era and the Big 12 would love to land a blow on the field here in this one yeah I think there probably is some of that with the big 12 a lot of these teams they used to be in our conference and you've kind of ruined what we had built so we got a chance now to to make it D this to to show you like we're not just your like little recruiting system and little farm team Jesse like and the quarterback caugh up two and sacked at the 12 well I think one of the biggest reasons why this team is finding themselves in a hole here in the first half is this has been a sack party they can't keep the defense off of their quarterback they haven't been able to get the ball deep down the field throwing it with the consistency they want because they can't keep their quarterback standing up straight they've decided to try to go for the field goal here it is true as he puts three on the [Applause] board that makes the [Music] score they were able to get a field goal on the board and now they'll kick it away out of the end zone he stopped short of the 20 at the 19 and probably wishes he' just taken the touch back the tied offense rolls onto the field they'll have another opportunity to extend this lead after punting last time David and it's important to put that punt behind you it's it's over let it go get back to what you were doing that built this lead yeah and the defense obviously they won a few Downs uh that last drive so we got to put them on their heels here maybe mix up a few Personnel groupings try to show them some pictures they haven't seen yet now looking for that first down on Third and short from the 26 he'll pull it on the read but dances away from one he'll make a play on third down he's got enough for the first as they mark it at the 32 out of the shotgun they go to the the ground got behind those pads and picked up three out to the 35 got three on first down it's second and [Applause] seven on the ground it's monre a strong tackle and wrap up from the junior how bold will they be on third down after that last run third down coming from the gun wants to pass fires to the big fella finally pulled down but not before moving the change for a first down sixth play of the drive coming up wide receiver shows motion wants to throw on first down off the play fake he finds his man the defense wouldn't let him loose there and it was a completion but they lost yardage they've got a really good drive going but a little speed bump here at second and 13 part in the back field it's conre and make the stop but not before he takes a chunk out of what they need to move the sticks five yds away from another third down conversion on this drive they're already two for two and it's caught inside the 15 and he'll take it in they couldn't get him on the ground touchdown Bama a lot of times you see those receivers as soon as they get by the DBS you know that hand goes straight up in the air I got him I got to step on him he got to step on him and the ball was thrown perfectly out in front you can see he runs underneath it gets it and gets the long touchdown on the go route lining up to tack one more onto that [Applause] lead and the extra point is good and they have an 11-point lead about to kick it away after scoring the touchdown 21 Oklahoma St he Darth the return inside his five he was looking for more Running Room but none to be found as he stopped at the 23 Oklahoma State hoping to get the pistols firing on offense they're going to have to be more aggressive in this drive you can't expect to win this when David kicking field goals no especially when you're trailing you got to have a little more urgency and maybe a little more aggressiveness Jesse and field goals are not going to get it done down the stretch yeah you're going to have to take some shots no doubt bottom line when plays present themselves you just simply got to make it still on his feet at the 45 he's Off to the Races quarterback gets the first down and he'll finish the run in the end zone touchdown Cowboy it's so nice to be an offensive coordinator when you got a guy that can do this what an unbelievable job scrambling around buying time it doesn't matter whatever you want to call it running a long way and scoring a touchdown [Music] [Applause] on to attempt the try and the Pat will draw them one point closer that drive took no time at all couple of plays and finished it with the long run for the touchdown he'll bring it out stopped at the 17 and he's probably second guessing that return here comes down Alabama offense these two defenses have had their head spinning here in the first half and now we might even see a little time to take a shot and this is dropped incomplete pass he had a huge gain in his fingers and he couldn't hold on they'll ride the running back and leave it with him get some work done there pick up of four to the 22 how bold will they be on third down after that last run dropping back it's Hicks got his man he'll have the first down as he gets it to the 28 yd line before he stopped fresh set of downs after the completion they'll leave it with him gets it out to the 38 yd line after picking up 10 on that one this Alabama offense is clicking they're set up with another first down the quarterback can make a big play when he starts moving around we reached the two-minute warning and we'll see if the offense can build on this lead before the break on second down just keeps firing can't make the connection in the defense putting on the heat and forcing the incompletion they'll come to the line at the 42 facing a third and long fires to the tight end and they got the defense on that one and they get it to the 29 yd line what a weapon this guy is right at the tight end position not only can he get open he can run away from people after the catch he's a big dude so he's hard to break down anyway but the speed is what makes Indi throws toward the end zone touchdown TI and they add six more to the board with that trip to the house quarterback's abilities to read the field is huge and also the anticipation the timing to be able to throw the football Jesse and hit a guy in stride so he can get run after the catch and get in the end zone that was a nice job by the quarterback yeah it's critical David listen a lot of times touchdown passes aren't thrown into the end zone you got to read the coverage hit the open and let him do the rest well offensively they knew they were going to have some matchups they could take advantage of in this one and all of a sudden this quarterback has now over 300 yd passing in the game defensively David he has got them on their heels and he's been showing you a little bit of everything he can throw it all over the field to all different receivers to his tight ends to his running backs really had the ability to spread it around and now over 300 yd still some time left and we can put up even bigger numbers heck go chase some awards man get some postseason Wards get an All-American just put up a day finds the tight end they'll rip off eight on that play it's second and two the Cowboys headed quickly to the line scanning the field it's Fowler quickly to the tie down he's one out of bounds but a big play on that one and it'll be a first down and now aess set of downs for this offense he'll come out throwing on first down got it set up on the outside he's stop just a chain link or two away from the first down and sets them up beautifully here there's a timeout called as this offense tries to find a way to draw a little closer looking deep all kinds of room to throw that one in there touchdown cowboy and once he found open space the band might as well start playing and I tell you what that passing touchdown man that should spark this whole team like The Comeback is more than on now like they got the touchdown they cut into the lead you want to get a stop and go into the half get all the juices all the excitement and be like listen the passing game rolling we got this The Comebacks in full effect they'll try to attack one more on their score [Applause] and with the extra point they close it to a 2824 game and let's check in with Kevin Conor in the studio Kevin boys if it's happening in college football we've got eyes on it check this out Wyoming looks like an old punching bag out there today and I did not expect to say that this fan base heck this coaching staff were not expecting these results they're trailing by 17 to UT we'll Circle back if if anything big happens you should know about it thanks for the downfield nice pitch and catch there and they'll have enough for the first down well this defense is being challenged in this secondary in particular and I know a DB made the tackle there but we're only in the second quarter and already this quarterback has over 200 yards passing [Applause] Alabama comes to the line with first and 10 looking to move it through the air he'll take a shot and it was worth going for a chunk play but the long pass is incomplete after the quarterback and receiver failed to hook up they'll try it again on second down to throw it's hit going back to the well another deep ball touchdown Crimson tie and they take it in for six more points number 11 you know quarterbacks and receivers they develop confidence and chemistry as the game goes on these two right now are definitely on the same page [Applause] ready to try the point after and the extra point is good they're up 35 to 24 so that scoring Drive took only six plays and they finish things off with a scoring toss from the 33 from inside his own 15 let's see how far he can get he was looking for more Running Room but none to be found as he stopped at the 23 first they'll try the Run Bulls his way forward the offense will stop the clock and use one of its timeouts time dwindling away as they try to put points on the board right before the half the give to the running back from the shotgun and the defense doesn't let him get loose and that's going to wrap things up here in the half clock still running almost certainly the last play of the half we played two quarters here time to go to Kevin after all those first downs and touchdowns big plays have defined this one thanks to two of the best receiving core in all of college football let's see if these defenses can adjust and make the necessary chess moves with that said let's send it back to the guys at boom picking [Music] Stadium got things teed up and just about ready to go here in the second half from inside his own 10 he'll try to help out their field position he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic but they get him on the ground at the 20 trying to set the tone with the Run found a little bit of Running Room knocked down at the 24 after a pick up of four and the Cowboys want to move quickly [Applause] from the gun running back gets to get finds his way ahead for three out to the 27 yard line guys this offense is already reeling down multiple possessions really need to cash in on this drive on Third and short they'll ride the running back here didn't get much picked up a yard and that will leave them with fourth and two the Cowboys will bring the punt team onto the field a high kick let's see if he can pin them back deep in their own end the tied offense rolls onto the field and David how they would love to stick it in the end zone one more time after that last drive and once you get the defense on their heels and you back them off a little bit you get in a little bit of Rhythm it's really hard to stop Jesse and they're going to try to do it again right here and if you're this play caller you're loving what's happening right now because everything you dialed up on that last Drive ended up working out you're just looking at your play sheet everything your picking is working let's see if they can pull it off again here offense lines up for a first and 10 from the 43 the give out of the gun and I think they'll give him two on that one second and eight coming up stuck with a running game on first down now here they come again he'll run it [Applause] again and a good solid pick up there before the defense knocks him down let's see what they do on third down they'll try to move the chains on the ground they are on the move as they pick up the first down they'll spot it at the 28 this drive has been exclusively on the ground could they be setting up a shot play back to throw it's Hicks fires to the right he makes a catch he is down at the one a terrific run after the throw and catch yeah and the quarterback knew exactly where he wanted to go with the football had time spins the ball deep nice job by this offense understanding what the defense is giving him and create an explosive play they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one and the D Deni him on second and goal he's looking to throw trying to get to him and the heat gets there and they get him down at the 14 yd line the closer you get to the end zone the more aggressive I'm going to become I'm going to take away and quick easy stuff and I'm going to Blitz and bring pressure and put them on the quarterback and get him on the ground like you did right [Applause] there third and goal coming up here looking to throw and he needs a chunk play makes the grab over the middle and they'll get him down inside the five but this offense powering for to score and on fourth down they'll try to put three on the board never a doubt and that will extend their lead even further that makes the score 3 Oklahoma St so they were able to put up a three spot on that last drive and now the kickoff team out there as they prepare to put boot to leather from inside his own 10 let's see what he gets he was looking for more Running Room but none to be found as he stopped at the 23 Oklahoma state has it back and the offense is on the field this is when the pressure can ramp up a little bit on an offense David when they start feeling the heat to answer a score and I think being down 14 you can kind of feel that way but dude if you put a good drive together this is a seven-point game so Palmer no need to payt it I was just going to say David I mean this thing can flip quick you go down score all of a sudden your defense gets a stop or who knows better yet gets a turnover this game is entirely this off play action on first down extending the play he's going to run it man those little chunks keep annoying incredibly for our defense it's just putting them in Easy situations chewing up four to six yards at a pop like that put you in a bad situation as a defensive coordinator what do I call either way prob number one going to stop the third and short from the 44 and we might know if they plan to go for it on fourth down by what they call here and he's to the 48 yd line that'll be good enough for a first down and the Cowboys Bo look to keep this drive huming now the play fake going up top hits him inside the 20 is still going touchdown Oklahoma State you thought they were done they're not they're back baby and a really nice job by the quarterback he drops back he knows where he's going with the football you can tell he sees this guy coming from left to right running that post down the middle of the field throws it perfect timing to his receiver he catches the football takes it into the end zone lining up for the pat exra point and with the extra point every little bit count as they get closer let's go to the studio now and check in with Kevin Connor Kevin what do you got guys let's take a look at what's happening in a great top 25 matchup Missouri has the lead right now Columbia has just been jumping all week but this game is hardly over there is time left on that clock they're up by just one over Oklahoma we've got our eye on this one and everything else going on throughout the day guys and how about that one Kevin will be keeping an eye on everything going on elsewhere Alabama may always be built on the run but these days they elevate with a highflying pass game and great coaches evolve and we've seen the evolution of this Alabama offense over the last several years and it's not just run it's not just eat clock it is be aggressive attack make big plays down the field from the gun they'll try to impose their will and he has a solid gain before the defense bottles him up offense breaks the Huddle it's third down they'll try to pick up the first through the air caught in the back field it's m he ended up going backwards on the play and they will not convert that third down the Crimson tie will bring the punt team on the field and these guys have been busy sixth pun of the day and the returner will be knocked down Oklahoma State hoping to get the pistols firing on offense how about that last drive just carved him up in the air David yeah and how about that quarterback you gave him the ball and he delivered the goods great job taking apart the defense Jesse on that last Drive really did David I mean that was a master class in just reading coverage and being accurate really nice stop there from this senior leader ball is at the 41 as his defense tries to force the punt on Third and long looking to pass it's Fowler how about that play to get a hand in there and force the incompletion the Cowboys will line up to PL It Away Great contact on that ball as it just hangs up in the sky though a return coming he'll call for the fair Catch and let's see what kind of ball plays this offense has ready coming out on first down with the play fake gets it out quickly he knew exactly where he wanted to go with that one and they've got enough for the first down that's quite a start to a drive and now they'll snap it from Midfield quick completion on the out and and that defense is there to guide him out of bounds after a short gain L getting set on second down trying playaction and he can't escape and down he goes nice sack by the defense great job getting to him getting him on the ground that's the fourth sack of the day this defense has had some bright moments but they've also given up some big plays keep rushing the quarterback but keep that coverage and attack in the back end if they can convert here that type of play can really give you a shot of momentum third and long and he'll try to throw for it he's got it running toward the tap and the defense couldn't Corral him and he took it all the way touchdown Alabama number and this receiver is on fire he's got all the skills that you look for in a big time Target that's already his second touchdown of the [Applause] game they'll try to add another to their lead ex and he made that extra point the wet turf no problem at all quick work on that scoring drive just four plays and they finished the drive with a big play through the air scoring from 51 yds out from inside the 10 here he comes really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the [Music] 19 motion from the offense on the move it's Fields finds a little bit of space get three to the 22 after the three- yd pickup they come to the line Second and seven from the gun they'll try the middle keeps the legs moving Zid run picks up six and gets it to the 28 third down and this offense is already in a world of trouble they could really use the conversion not to mention multiple scores they'll stick to the ground looking for the marker he gets it oh so close go to the first down marker but I think he's going to be a touch short and that's a nice stop by this defense nice job stopping the Run setting up fourth in inches listen this is a no-brainer if I can't get inches I don't deserve to win I I'm coming downhill I'm playing physical I'm picking my play whether it's quarterback sneak fullback dive whatever it is that we do great and I'm going to get my inches here comes the offense on first [Music] down out of the shoot quick toss to the right they make the stop after the catch and still some work to do to pick up that first down here comes the offense on second down on the option I like the decision by the quarterback here just get the ball out of your hands get it to your playmaker lot of times don't dance and make even bigger plays than he did here but it was still a positive game back to pass it's Hicks finds his tight end and boy is he close to that first down maybe just a couple of inches short Alabama will bring the punt team on the field not able to pop the big return but they've got the ball back and ready to go with a fresh possession Oklahoma state has it back and the offense is on the field the last time we saw this offense we had to look quick it was a three and out Jesse it just had no rhythm in that last drive so someone's going to have to step up and make a play David and get this thing going yeah let's just find some juice find your guy find those plays that you know you can run inside out for backwards get some first downs get some positive momentum these are the types of plays where offenses impose their will third and short from the 45 from the gun wants to pass caught near the sticks it's ball coming through that third down conversion and they'll mark it at the 43 and the Cowboys have it with a first and 10 first down quick hand off and the Freshman does a great job using his technique in getting the man on the ground got three on first down it's second and seven they'll Run play action dances away from the Heat and he gets it just beyond the line of scrimmage before he gets down ball spotted right at Midfield as they try to convert third and short from the gun one wants to pass steps away he'll try to do it himself now with a great opportunity as they pick up the first down they've got it at the 40 the Cowboys had this offense Rolling On The Run it's fields and he'll pick up the first down after a tough run there here's this offense with a fresh set of downs comes out throwing on first down he looks that one in nicely they make the stop but not before he sets them up with a first and goal from the 10 the offense threatening close to the end zone now with a new set of downs keeping it on the ground on first and goal forges ahead for one to the 8 yd line defense roll up deep in its own end on that last play now a second and long coming to the air it's Fowler unleashes to the end zone touchdown Oklahoma State a Lazarus likee comeback is underway great example of how a second half can really change everything for team no doubt first half looked bad it looked like it was Bleak it looked like it was ugly but now you're starting to get it turned around that more drives like this is what's [Music] needed getting set for the point after extra point and it's up and good as they draw Just a Touch closer lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown [Applause] [Music] drive on the run from inside his own five he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 here comes that Alabama offense off the play fake on first down to throw quick strike complete a most efficient pickup of six on first down it's second and [Applause] four they're working that left side and he'll be taken down but he does have enough for the first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs going up top on first down pulls it in and they pick up just a few on that completion and here comes the offense on second down they'll run it out of the shotgun you want to make sure to maximize those types of runs and he gets it out to the 41 they've got it at the 41 third and short trying to keep the chains moving they'll try to run for it and that stiff arm is a weapon for this Runner he uses it and picks up a first down looking for space it's monre giving him his pads open space at the 25 and he was loose and in the open field and on his way a tremendous pick up on that one they've marched to the Red Zone and here they go finds his big tight end and that is good versatility there and a big hit from the backer in pass coverage operating in the Red Zone here on second down looking to throw it's Hicks it as he throws and he's got it touchdown B and that kind of toughness is something you can't coach in quarterbacks you either have it or you don't being able to deliver strikes like that for touchdowns when you know you are going to get absolutely popped man it is hard to find QBs like that this offense has one lining up to tack one more onto that lead and the extra point will tack another one onto this lead so an 82 yd drive there and they finish it by firing one in from the 13 for the score from inside the 10 yd line he'll bring it back not a lot of space to be found good Hustle by the coverage team and they stop him at the 21 they'd love to put a long drive together here as they start from their own 21 quarterback on the keeper nowhere to run on that when he loses four on the car as they get set to snap it just about to reach the end of the quarter on second down wants to throw finds a man on the left and he's got enough for a first down now to see if they have enough time to snap it again here in the third so Alabama takes the lead into the quarter break this has been utter domination through three quarters and The Stance will back that up one more period to go and we'll see just how much fight they've got left in them they've got it at the 37 it's first and 10 leaves it with the running back and how about that interior defense stuffing the run for nothing got stuffed on first down it's second and 10 just a short pass to the tight end and he goes out of bounds after coming up with positive yardage there off play action fires to the wide out oh picked off just a small return but a big play as they have it now at the 45 man down on the play as the officials take a break to let him be check out the tied offense rolls onto the field touch pass on the rck and he's brought down after a nice game now on first down from the 43 holds and fires complete to the right and he'll step out of of bounds after a very productive play and down so the decision has been made and the coach will take the penalty they'll move it back and it's first and 15 for this offense back to throw it's Hicks using the quick game didn't pick up a lot there moving it Forward just a few after the short completion let's see if they go back to the air the playaction fake unloads to the wide out complete to the left finally brought down at the 31 it's a pickup of 15 yds on the play and they've got a first down Ed the play fake now to throw moving keeping the eyes down field there are quarterbacks that drop back and stay in the pocket and you play action you keep him in the pocket the whole time not this guy I'm going to use his athletic ability he does a great job loot legging to the right now I got him on the Run do I stop him with his feet do I stop him throwing the ball down the field puts the defense in a really tough position the Crimson tied comes to the line with the first and 10 they go to the ground a run up the middle is stuck for No Gain they got nothing on the last play it's second and 10 rides to the back an attitude run as he's dragged down after a pick up of six down to the 14 really need to pick up this conversion and avoid having to settle for the field goal running back searching for a hole he'll get that one all the way down to the four yd line before he stopped a great chance to put this game away with a score here on first and goal he'll call his own number and a nice solid pick up there there before the defense wrestles him to the ground if you don't tip the scales at three bills stay on the sidelines big boys in the goal line D he wants it all and here's the pick and oh did they need that right now listen the enemy is the clock right you're down by two scores you got to make something happen really really good job by the defense forcing the turnover getting the ball back to your offense now you got to go score and I got to get one more stop [Music] Oklahoma State hoping to get the pistols firing on offense after that last pick David they really need to take care of the ball this time no doubt and Palmer I want to know what Spurrier said to you on the sideline after a pick do that again and you'll be right here beside me for the rest of the game you got to go out you got to call your plays and I hope this coaching staff isn't going to be afraid to throw at this drive wants to throw it's Fowler forced out of of the pocket he's going to be able to pick up a few yards before the spine facing a third down and short from the 26 it's a draw and they're able to get a third down stop here see if they go for it on Fourth and the Cowboys will try to pin them back with the punt a high kick trying to pin them deep not going to risk a return here he'll make the fair catch the offense lining up for a first down play they'll go to the ground you'll take four yards on first down every time second and six at 43 yd right back to it crosses the 30 he got a away and this offense is feeling it as they rip off a big chunk of yardage and they've got it on the 22 this guy's been special today coming into this one they thought they had an opportunity really to get him going running the football and he has delivered you've seen the speed the vision his ability to break tackles well over 100 rushing yards in this game and that's why they have a nice lead here late they stop him just a link or two short of the first and man what they can do on second down here going to the ground he'll be brought down at the 5 yd line and this defense is on its heels and if they can find the end Zone here that might be all she wrote first and goal they'll try to get it in with the run and they try the middle of this Stout defense and they rise to the challenge man oh man the ball carrier was just shut down and I tell you what they need some push up front too right they got to move those defensive linemen out of the way at least create a hole so your running back has a chance not there he didn't have it they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one if they can pay off this third and goal with a touchdown it might be getting a little tough to swallow over there on the other sideline and he rolls into the house touchdown tie they extend the lead here in the fourth and after stumbling early about to push their record to three and one offense gets the job done again you want to build that cushion as we get deeper into the second half man it makes it easy doesn't it you start getting up by couple possessions making the offense very predictable on the other side great job by the offense extending their lead winding up to add another on for the extra point and the extra point splits the uprights and they're up a full three touchdowns a 21-point cushion in the four just about set to kick it away he'll bring it back from inside is five really dis disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 Oklahoma state has it back and the offense is on the field looking for a man it's Fowler Dan is way to buy time got to protect the merchandise gets down without taking a hit second down coming up he's looking to throw got the Quick Pass he's out of bounds but not before picking up enough for the first down he's going to pass C open down the middle he gets those chains moving gets it out to the 42 yd Line This Guy's gotten off to a good statistical start guys with that last completion he's already now over a th passing yards on the season and man you know he's looking for more [Applause] the Cowboys getting set on First and 10 he's looking to throw it makes the grab down the middle and a good job of coverage by that defense just a short pick up let's see what they've got on second down they want to just keep throwing it oh he wants it all and that's going to be incomplete going for broke on second second down but third Down's coming up trying to pick up a first down on Third and long he's going to have to throw for it going to try to get it himself at the 35 he's open he gets the job done picking up the first down then getting down and the Cowboys are in the hurry up and you're seeing here the difficulties defenses have trying to contain this guy if you leave a lane open or you don't sack him right away and you allow him to get outside the pocket he is going to take off and he is very difficult to tackle in the open field he's got running back likeability out of the space for the to the air on first down keeps the play going and he runs it in for the score pist firing touchdown Cowboy having a playmaker like that he get the offense out of just about any situation and no doubt he can roll right he can roll left he can do every once and buy time and throw the football but you have to defend everything you have to defend pass you have to defend run and you have to bit of an under the radar game this week guys but take a look at this Vanderbilt has been almost Unstoppable today offensively between the game plan and the play calling and the execution it's been near Perfection they're up by 28 over the pandas we are the eyes and ears of the college football fan and we've got you covered all day here in studio guys oh and how about that I know Kevin and those guys will be keeping an eye on it for us it'll be a first and 10 from the 29 give to the running back shows him the stiff arm and he goes out of bounds after a nice pick up on that one that kind of pick up on first down and you can take a shot here on second and short free snap Motion in the back field pulls it and fires to the left turns it on in Midfield and they'll finally get him down after a terrific pickup now it's first and 10 from the four 46 yd [Applause] line he's got it on the right and how about the efficiency on that one it'll bring up second and four when with the running game on first down now back at it using his legs it's moncre stop is made at the 35 yd line a 5yd gain there and it's a first down might as well run him until they stop him he's got it again they get him stopped at the 30 but not before he gets five yds halfway there on first down it's second and five to the air it's Hicks unloads to the right he's got an open man he gets it all the way down to the 5 yd line a terrific catch and run before he stopped you know it's interesting at this point of the game with the lead in the fourth quarter the defense is expecting them to run the ball and because they're putting so many guys close to the line of scrimmage they're taking advantage throwing it two straight completion touchdown Crimson tie that is the ultimate grab and go for the score that one puts them in really good shape to get back on the right track and get another W yeah salt inter wound right late in the fourth quarter you can run the football run this game out no sir I'm going to continue to pad my stats find my receiver out wide and get me another touchdown for the extra point and the extra point splits the upright and there up a full three touchdowns a 21-point cushion in the fourth air lining up to boot it away he'll bring it out from inside his own 10 really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 wants to throw on first down makes his connection good pick up on that play it'll bring up second and four the Cowboys moving quickly to the line well here's the problem offensively because you're trailing by so much so late in the game the defense now is going to be playing big Zone coverages and they're going to allow you to throw the ball underneath in the middle of the field rally to make a tackle and B the clock it's going to be hard now for this offense to claw their way back in this one trying to find his man on first down going for the big play fires and picked off nice job by this defense that might be the exclamation point fourth quarter I got a lead you bring on the nickel defense you know they're passing the football for plays just like that to make the int and almost put this one away here comes that Alabama offense there have been few obstacles for this offense as they are starting to pull away here in the second half Jesse and this has been a dream game for this play caller too right it's like anything that he's calling is working Flawless yeah it's fun to be the offensive coordinator but not the defensive coordinator they have had no answers it's been an absolutely miserable day trying to Solve the Riddle of this offense and they tried the middle of this defense and that is not [Applause] [Music] happening on third down going up top fires downfield that third down pass was coming in hot before it fell to the ground looks as if the tide will punt it away kicks it high and it's just hanging there as if it has helium in it and floating down toward the AR personal foul ring the kicker defense the officials offer the deal and the coach accepts it they will take the penalty he want that clock to run and the defense is still fighting they they haven't had the day that they dreamed of you know talking to the coaches coming to the game like they thought they had a good plan they'd be ready to attack and and and limit some of the damage this offense has done they haven't done it today though they got to go back to the drawing board figure some things out cuz this wasn't a great thing and they'll bring him to the ground after a short gain the de thinking bring some heat on Third and long from the 44 looking downfield it's Hicks coming after it and the pressure gets two him down goes some quarterback I just love the effort by the defense on this play we're late in the game it's in the fourth quarter guys are tired they're not able to get to the QB right away but they continue pursuing them and they're able to get to him outside of the pocket nice job the Crimson TI will bring the punt team on the field trying to play a little field position with that high high punt they'll bring him down the clock is at zero and that is how this one will wrap up well this was an offensive showcase out there today we thought it would be a high-scoring game and it certainly delivered if you love offense then you love this type of game both offenses going up and down the field seemingly it will throwing the ball running the ball but David I feel like if you're a fan of Defense maybe this is wasn't your cup of teer ah more defense optional he didn't really get too much of that stuff but you know listen you got to get a few stops late in the game you got to get one actually just kind of one stop with this many points as was being scored you got the stop late
