chipa and it looks as if we are due for a full house as we have a terrific game in store this match up today part of the life blood of the sport a rivalry game where the results will be remembered for a lifetime as we'll see a team fresh and ready to go off of by week the Western Michigan Broncos taking on another team from the mat the central Michigan chipa for EA Sports college football Reese Davis with you alongside David poock and Jesse Palmer and guys can't wait to get this one started and the Broncos will kick it away [Applause] [Music] I have I have piz and he takes this from inside the five didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 so Central Michigan's offense takes the field to start this game off and the adrenaline is pumping on overdrive in games like this guys and it's crucial to get your emotions under control no doubt in rival games you've got to limit the mental errors and you've got to limit the penalties cuz those will kill you B and you got to come out under control it means so much we know that the fans are now talking about it but it's just football I like the decision there in the RPO game too guys I only only got a couple of yards but that play is going to open up bigger opportunities throwing the football down the field in the RPO game too so keep handing it off to this guy let him see what he can do and when the defense gives you the to hold the football and then finally throw it that's when you take [Applause] advantage his big tiend he will step out of bounds but not before the big pick up and a first down for this offense well it's a nice job to of a quarterback after the play fake there getting his eyes down the field he had to get that to his tight end quickly knowing he wasn't going to have a lot of space to run with after the catch at the 45 on his way what a Nifty run there to up the first down first down you know you always want to establish the running game how about this offense nothing fancy run the football be physical get a big game off the play fake on first down looking for an open area to his left he's right out of bounds but not before turning in a big pick up and moving the sticks for a first down and the chipa come to the line with a fresh set of downs touch pass on the the rot running with power and he'll step out of bounds after a very productive play and on second down for this offense looking to pass it's Emmanuel got the Quick Pass he's R out of bounds but a big play on that one and it'll be a first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs re snap motion quarterback trying to get a read [Applause] unloads to the wide out just too much juice on that one as he air mails his receiver out of bounds last time these two got together it was a tight one Jessie can't faster right because it is a rivalry game there's just a greater sense of urgency when we see these teams match up the fans feel it they know it there's so much true they think about it all year long we can talk about the next game on this got enough space he is down at the one a terrific run after the throw and catch they built this offense around finding mismatches and just get the ball to the back and let him do his thing yeah it it didn't have to be long down the field like it threw it right near the line of scrimmage but you know I got a guy when he gets in space he can make big plays happen nice decision by the QB [Applause] the chip will try to put one on the board on why I gota be checked I'm fine I just want gym [Applause] players well you know this offensive coordinator strips is opening 10 15 plays and he didn't even need that they went nine playes scor a touchdown everything working perfectly they look like a well oiled machine early game off they'll try to add another and with the extra point they get the first seven of the game an 84 yd drive there and they capped it off with a one y the kickoff bounces through the end zone they'll bring it out to the 25 so Western Michigan's offense headed onto the field out first look at today as we take a look at our impact players for this game David what do you look for to make an impact from your leaders to lead the football team they got to step up and make plays on the field keep everybody Cal these guys typically do a really good job yeah David and they also generally set the tone for their respective football teams regardless of which side of the ball they play on the teammates look towards them to step up in big games like this and you hear about run this is exactly what a run blitz is when you know the ball's coming up the middle you want to bring those linebackers get them closer to the line of scrimmage and fire right when the ball snapped he's coming downhill doing a good job creating the loss that linebacker really knew what was going on the counter Run play is really tricky for defenses to stop because it forces I am the sh everything in PR snap is telling you the ball's going to the side but now they run it back weak and pulling line this won't be the last time today they coun and he's down at the 41 that's a first down and they bring him down but did you see this freshman rifle that thing in there up at the 41 with a first and 10 Davis throw what the [Applause] [ __ ] and he SLI through the crowd and he'll house it TCH down Broncos man how hard is it to defend when you have a weapon like this and running back that can play wide receiver you can design ways to get the football in his hand Palmer once you get in his hands he'll do the rest yeah no doubt I mean and often times those are easier throws for quarterbacks and these running backs they're just naturally so good when they have the football out in space their Vision their creativity their ability to make people miss and this guy showed you right there a difficult difficult guy to stop now if you're this defense moving forward lining up for the P see I got a whole right down the boulevard quick work on that scoring drive just four plays and they C things off with a touchdown pass from 59 y out sh I got a whole line my Bo and we're all square as he set to kick it [Applause] away here he comes from inside his own five nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their Lane and they'll stop him at the 16 Central Michigan takes over and we'll get another look at this offense that last touchdown Drive Jessie it sure was and that's why this offense is so dangerous David because they can score in a hurry because of how efficient they are thr the football yeah and welcome to Modern college football that's what it is spread you out find my Playmakers make quick decisions and really put defenses in a difficult situation you know it's so important for offenses to to keep third Downs manageable the way you do that is by having success like that running the football on first down thr to the back and it's intercepted turn from the defense and they'll him down [ __ ] can't inter what a gameing byce in their territory coming out now you force the turnover set your offense up with some great scoring field position and he's a real Nowhere Man tackled in this no game land operating in the Red Zone here on second down the G on the inside he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a comp awesome job up front by this defensive line being so good at the point of attack and eating blocks eating some double teams that allows these linebackers to run free unencumbered and get to the football that's the end of the we played we are right back where we started all tied up after the first period as we take a look at the stats if get the edge in the second quarter really need to pick up this conversion and avoid having to settle for the field goal getting some heat it's incomplete on third down nice jot by the defense they're mixing up their look they're third and long in field goal range they Zone coverage so everybody on the back end has the eye on the quarterback and they're able to break on the ball Force the incompletion now on fourth down they'll settle for a field goal try they get through and it's blocked get this [ __ ] oh no no Central Michigan has it back let's see what the chipa can do on offense one running back in the back field and he has it that's a 15 he's loose in his sophomore season he's really learned to find that Running Room it's first down from their own 23 yd line fast motion from the offense receiver on the Move gets the touch pass he's out past the 35 and they spoted at the 45 that's good enough for a first down let them n here's this off with a fresh set of downs coming out on first down with the play fake out of the pocket trying to make magic on the scramble finally run out of bounds but he has this offense rolling with a first down and the chipa come to the line with a new set of downs quarterback making adjustments with his receiver [Applause] you can't he was beating this [ __ ] at very on first down second down coming now on second down looking to throw it's Emanuel this time he's got it he's there to make the stop but the damage has been done as they pick up the first down on the throwing catch the chipa are threatening in the red zone they're threatening to score and they'll throw it Ires deep for the End Zone Falls incomplete and he did everything perfectly except catch the football second down com couldn't make the connection last time let's see if they'd throw it again pocket starts to collapse pressure is on the way and the pressure has arrived and down he goes at the 30 seventh play of the drive coming up but a long way to go on third down looking to throw and he needs a bunch and the bring the heat and down he goes again the defensive line you know third and long situations I'm rushing the quarterback you bringing the nickel a little bit more speed on the field and the defense throws toward the end zone and it's incomplete and the defense Stands Tall and gets off the field the Western Michigan offense ready to go back to to work line gets set first down quick timeout by the defense there trying to make sure everyone has the same call the offense set for a first down play defense loves to show heat and try to confuse the quarterback the give from the gun he's drop behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three not what they had in mind to start this drive here comes second and 13 he's looking to throw working that left side now and he brought one tackle on the way to a solid pick up there I'll say this man in college football you see a lot of bad tackling you didn't see it right there that was an awesome job first off being there at the point of attack once the tight end made the catch there was no doubt he was going down great job for time trying to move the sticks on third down through the air bro come on man he will step out of bounds but not before the big pick up and a first down for this offense the clock has stopped and we've reached the two-minute warning before half time with the first down they'll put it in play from the [Applause] 33 looking to move it through the air trying to get to it can't find his man as he took a shot trying to deliver that football and it'll be second down yeah it felt incomplete because he did a great job of getting to the quarterback he's in the pocket yeah he's he's comfortable but you get in there and you get a hit on him now he feels it can't throw the football can't follow through with his arm motion nice job by the defense third and short from the 26 pretty easy field goal range but they'd love to pick up the first he wants to throw it again Cat come on C me a m defense is back up shadow of the trying to defend their own he deliv to round knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple and you got to get locked in in the Red Zone a lot of defensive coordinators don't tell you we'll give up yards but we got to understand what we're trying to get accomplished great job down here near the and into the house touchdown Western Michigan and that is exactly what you want in your offense man late in the half you want to execute and then punch it in physically on the ground Take the Lead going into the half take all the momentum nice execution in the drive by that offense they got the late touchdown on the board now about to kick it away and hoping the defense can keep them from answering he's going to try his luck from The End Zone I imagine he's going to get near full on the sideline out the and beinged down at 11 want walk up and should didn't show I think it's going to come down to how much confidence they have in this quarterback and his decision making because you cannot throw an interception at this part of the field with this little time left and I think that's conversations you've had with a young fell on the sidelines be like what are you comfortable with right here that we can run maybe stay but make sure I don't make that mistake looking to throw it's Emmanuel oh he's going to try to hit him over the top and that's going to be incomplete going for broke on second down but third Down's coming [Applause] up from the gun wants to pass going back to the well another deep ball pass is incomplete and we dwindle down to s seconds and the chipa will bring the punt team onto the field s his first one of the day on the way we didn't see much of him in that Victory last week just called on one time he make the Stop and that is the end of the first half first half in the book time now to join Kevin Conor in our halftime update phas what an environment there today all the animosity and flat out hatred that comes with a good oldfashioned rivalry game on display in that first half and it's been said football is a game of inches and guess what based on the comparison between third down conversion rate today and the average yard per play how can you argue that I mean the low-lying fruit is to look at some of the explosive plays we've seen in panic but really this game is going to come down to which team is more efficient when they have the ball and how they play when it matters most with that let's throw it back to the guys to see how this rival match up plays out they'll move the running back to try to force the defense to adjust dumps it off in the flats at the 35 he's got room and they'll do more than move the chains they'll move that thing more than 30 y down the field before he's finally stopped and this defense is going to have their hands full because they're going to need to be comfortable with guys one-on-one on islands in the perimeter of the field and they're just going to have to make better plays than what we saw right there they knew this offense was going to try to be aggressive got to need better effort in the back running for the T touchdown Western Michigan and once he got loose it was all over now they've got a little breathing room they are in firm control with this game guys but you never want to let up in a rivalry game because it only takes one play we know how much of a factor momentum can be games David So this game still far from and this is where my leadership and my experience comes into play you got guys that have been through these fires been through these rivalry games you know the swings happen quick now you got to swing it back your way Central Michigan has it back let's see what the chipa can do on offense this is when the pressure can ramp up a little bit on an offense David with trying to get behind the defense and it slipped through his fingers incomplete that would have been a huge gain if he could have squeezed it they'll line up for a second down play Touch pass on the Jet Sweep they the first thing you have to know to make these plays successful offensively is I have to block the Ed I got to get my speeder in space they didn't do a good job of getting that guy out there in going to let it fly and it slips through his fingers incomplete that would have been a could have on the ship will call on their punt team doesn't say much for your drive when you're looking forward to the punt no return coming he'll call for the fair catch guys we're about to get another look at this Western Michigan offense this offense has really been clicking in the game so far Jesse no doubt everything their play caller is dialing up these guys offensively have been able to go out and execute yeah and it's just maintaining the lead lead keep doing what you've been doing you got a big lead let's just keep piling it on until they find an answer they'll run the screen hey man sometimes you get the perfect play call at the perfect time that time the defense blitzing offensive line allowed everybody to run up field and they slip in the running back screen and behind it there was nobody there to make a tackle and this offense generates a massive play the Broncos will move the sticks and that's a great sign for this offense because this year we know there's been a little bit of inconsistency and I think the biggest problem has been third down right there nice job executing running the ball picking up the first and keeping this drive alive that's about as close as you can get to that marker and it will be second and just a few breaths away from the first down and they'll come to the line with less than a yard to go from the gun running back on the Move he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple I love this linebacker because he's able to dissect what's happening in front of him and he reacts downhill uses his speed to get to the line of scrimmage and create the negative play and they got him for the sack often times with play action you're asking the quarterback to hold on the ball a bit longer and you're asking this offensive line to hold up and pass throw a bit longer against this athletic front seven on defense it's going to be tough [Applause] they're able to put a stop to that return right at the 30 yd line Central Michigan takes over and we'll get another look at this offense boy three and out last time David they' block somebody together here yeah David bad execution on that last drive so they got to take a collective breath and start playing like a unit he's going to let it go and he makes the catch inside the 25 and they were looking for a chunks play and they got it up [Applause] more quarterback on the keeper got some room headed to the goal line he'll be down at the yd line after that the ball a first down run on the doorstep he pushes it forward all the way to the two yd line they've been denied on two of their three previous Red Zone trips looking to pay this one off with a touchdown this game ain't aat me come on damn come on third is going oh are you [ __ ] get me bro come on CP ain't bing up like this bro come on ranking one more quarter to play they might be unlikely but he it's college football comebacks happen a field goal really doesn't too much for you in this situation so they'll go for it on Fourth and goal the just hammer it with this running back again and he knowses his way into the end zone well we wondered exactly where the momentum was and it looks as if Uncle Mo might have switched Sidelines and switched fames momentum is such a big thing it's such a real part of college football isn't it you can just feel that right now just felt a few minutes ago like this game was over all team they're believing in themselves they've got some win they've got some hope their defense now needs to get the football back to keep that momentum going tackle was made at the 28 after a pick up of three at this point of the game the offense has the lead the offensive coordinator knows they want to keep running the football so he's going back he's looking at his play list and he's saying which runs work the best for me in this game what and the pass rush is a effective and they tackle him at the 19 strong safety buzzes can sometimes be hard to see coming from a quarterback standpoint because we're used to seeing the strong safeties insert themselves into the box but you don't tricky to watch defense was not fooled by that screen to the back and they'll stop him of the marker it'll be fourth down come on off you got this damn it and the coverage team able to wrestle him down Central Michigan has it back let's see what the chipa can do on offense leaves it with the running back finds enough room to get three out the 34 small gain I know but again the defense knows he's going to run the make him on the Run game you got to do a lot of fires to the wide out he's open on the right good pick up there as he gets the first down they'll Mark him at the 48 running backs on either side of the quarterback wants to throw on first down off the play fake gets it out quickly and he was able to get away from one tackle but plenty of help was on the way he believeing in your in to the fat lady sing let's do [Applause] it throws to the let's go some reason they man to man is on 100 let's go and this offense is in business and the chipa are marching down the field run from the shotgun he's Dro behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three not many hiccups on this drive but it's second and 13 now this show in show in he's looking to throw a Shot For The End Zone and good coverage there to knock it away and deny the score and I understand the logic by the offense here obviously you're down in this game you're trying to claw back into it why not take a shot why not be aggressive in that time they just can't come up with the completion unloads to the wide out he's got get out of bounds after the big game but they've got it first and goal what a great job outside working that route not only did he get to the sticks to make sure he got the first down but also was able to get himself out of bounds to stop the clock you could not do that any better in a two-minute situation and he runs it in for the score touchdown Chi well that didn't necessarily go as planned but it was most effective in the end I love it down in the this quarterback didn't have anybody open didn't Panic he just decided man I'm going to go do this myself I'm going to use my wheels and put up six on the board he did just that bounces through the end zone it's a touch back they'll bring it out to the 25 Western Michigan has it back as they send the offense onto the field last time David it was one two three kick the last drive that three and out sometimes that puts your defense in a bad spot and you got to get a drive together here so you don't wear the defense out I just think David too predictable that last Drive they got to do something here to get this defense on their heels I like the decision by the quarterback here just get the ball out of your hands get it to your playmaker a lot of times he'll dance and make even bigger plays than he did here but it was still a positive game Davis looking to God D to killing us with these screens go that makes the grab and it's enough for the first down before he's dragged to the ground clock stops moment early for the first down they'll hurry to the line he wants to throw fires left he's got an open man and the defense the immediate tackle but he has enough for the first down they'll hurry to the line with the clock still [Applause] running the aerial assault continues one y should have been catching it bro y'all a got to kill him bro some to be prepared to catch it's been tough for this QB in this one very small Windows to throw into and he's been under as a QB in those of situations though his team going to be leaving here with down [Applause] [ __ ] shotgun snap on third down [Applause] bronos Mo and they're able to score on a drive where they had to have it this late in the game and they look to their playmaker on the outside to win that one-onone match Big Time moments who do you trust as a quarterback you could tell this was a big moment wide receiver come down to it and now the big play in the fourth quarter for the touch that's a kick off from inside the 10 here he comes couldn't find a way to create that broken field as he stopped at the 25 Central Michigan takes over and we'll get another look at this offense these are the games these are the moments this is the opportunity and he can't get it off taken down what a huge play this late in the game we've got a Timeout on the field a tight game in the fourth in the Brain Trust will go to work looking to throw it's Emanuel scrambling away he'll P it down they'll force him out of bounds after a solid pick up on the play well great job there by the defense because they weren't able to get him sacked right away but you saw the coverage in the back end nowhere for the quarterback to throw the football didn't get the sack obviously you don't get the negative play but you also don't give up a big one you're feeling pretty good about where you are right now in this drive he's going to take off he's run out of bounds but not before turning in a big pick up and moving the sticks for a first down no time to waste here they've got to get set and pick up chunk yardage going up top on first down got his man there to make the tackle but the big throw is good enough to give him a first down they immediately call timeout trying res every second they can to try to rally here Le big try for this off Le trying to tie the game they pieced together a couple of first downs and here they come again he's looking to throw it unloads it left Mak a connection great job in this two-minute drill as he gets out of bounds keeping the clock on their side as they're trying to pull it out the chipa getting set on First and 10 quarterback will audible they'll throw it from the Red Zone he goes out of bounds after a solid gain on the play going to work on second down in the red zone is still some ground to cover to pick up that first down quick touch pass to the receiver the H look them [ __ ] no who oh off man you needed it what the I didn't pick this no no sir no I take the OT for anything sir sir to set you up like baby this extra point attempt is filled with pressure he splits the upright and we tied in the four he mared y down the field Andra point to get it in the final minute that one bounds through the end zone and it'll be a touch back the Western Michigan offense ready to go back to work this one is about finding the balance between being aggressive and not being Reckless Jesse the only way this thing works though if they're going to be aggressive this offensive line has got to be able to hold up here for this QB yeah because you need to take shots beyond the sticks so the clock will stop you can save every second you have he'll do it himself he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three well guys let them know let these [ __ ] know to get decided to know two let's see who's better short amount of time to do it a couple possessions probably maybe one possession each who's the better team all right guys so here we go in overtime and just to refresh everyone's memory alternating possessions starting on the opponent's 25 and it's so nice to be on defense first just to set the tone to understand what you need try to hold to a field goal the off knows these [ __ ] two possessions Paul like you got to be at your best yeah and I love the new rules too because in the third overtime possession it goes to alternating two-point plays back and forth who's got anything left in the tank here in OT first play of the first possession of OT [Applause] use the play fake now to throw incoe get it there dog get it there man theat on and at this point Come field it's Emanuel they're bringing Heat Rush coming after the quarterback and they get him at the 32 I'm not positive but that first down marker might be in the next County on Third and long doesn't need to take the check down it's complete on the right side and chunk plays are the name of the game and they get one here before the defense finally makes the Stop and the chipa will take it first here in overtime the give to the tail back let me fall man behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three going to work in the Red Zone they can pick up the first down without getting it into the end zone fck all that nitty-gritty right here on second down he'll let it fly the quarterback can make a big play when he starts moving around and this [Music] dis on that this is a third and [Applause] long looking down field and he needs a bunch going for it all if he runs this back this game's over and they'll close in on him after a good return on the interception first down in this defense is desperate any kind of score and it's over they'll ride the running back and leave it with him made a Defender miss defense makes a stop but the chains move in it's first and goal from the e they're already in position for a potential game-winning field goal here on first and goal in overtime feeling some heat and they got him he'll get him down for the sack on the defense roll up deep in its own end on that last play now a second and long coming he'll pull it on the re head it to the end zone he got it in a walk off tou
