welcome to Norman Oklahoma tonight at the Gaylord family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium the Sooners are set to open another season on Owen field what a scene this is a veritable camade of colors stripe after stripe that they hope leaves the visitors dizzy as we'll see a squad from the AAC the temple Al taking on the 14th ranked team in the land the Oklahoma Sooners for EA Sports college football ree Davis with you alongside David Pollock and Jesse bber and guys can't wait to get this one [Applause] started the Sooners will boot it away to start the [Applause] game he'll start the return inside his spot really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 so the Temple Owls offense will have the first possession of the game and here's the man they rally around and he has earned that type of respect David you dang right you earn it by doing it and he's done it at such a high level everyone believes in this young man and Palmer there's a reason why you're right David he's been in the big moments and he's won the big games this guy delivers when the game is on the [Applause] line they'll try the right side nowhere to run on that when he loses four on the carry and the owls in the hurry up trying to move the sticks on third down through the air he strike downfield he's brought down but there's a flag on the field let's see which way that's going to go def an ill advised play by that Defender as he makes contact with the quarterback well after the throw and it'll cost his defense really nice stop there from this senior leader this crowd trying to make life miserable for this offense they'll run this one off right tackle he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three better find the ear plugged here comes the noise backing this defense on third [Applause] down looking to throw it's Brock and that's incomplete a Defender all over him knock the ball to the ground fourth down Coming Up Tempo lining up to punt it away this is a point where you just got to be able to focus and the critical down and distances in this game like that third down right there when it's a good throw you got to make the catch you've got to be able to make that play So the Oklahoma Sooners offense will take the field for the first time as we take a look at our impact players for this one what are you looking for Jesse for a guy to make an impact well these are simply put the leaders of this football team in generally G gam go how these guys play if they make plays they've got a shot to win this one no doubt they got to show up these are the team leaders these guys have to play well if they're going to win the football game they move the tight end all over he'll pull it on the read got enough for the first down and they'll finally bring him down after he rips off a huge play they'll snap this one from the 32 it's first down well this is one of the fastest quarterbacks in college football and that's why the option's a good idea because if he can get out in space and he has a chance to get down field he is really difficult to tackle and he's very difficult to catch as you saw in that last play getting a first down off the deflection missed a great chance to force the turnover instead it'll be second down they'll give him a couple that leaves him with third and eight if they can convert here that type of play can really give you a shot of momentum third and long and he'll try to throw for it right on the money to the outside he dragged the toe and how about the ball placement only the receiver could get it he finally goes out of bounds but you better check that laundry on the field the Sooners getting set on First and 10 hand off from the gun and he moved it slightly for defense played it well after picking up a couple at second and eight quarterback on the keeper he breaks a tackle and they'll stop him after a minimal pickup and the Sooners come to the line in the hurry up on third down he'll try to pick it up through the air it's caught downfield and the defense makes the immediate tackle but he has enough for the first down and listen you get Zone coverage and you can hit that curl route and he comes open continually keep hitting it this might be a play to come back to caught in the back field it's Anderson touchdown Oklahoma reeled it in and just made the house call they strike first in that opening Drive of the Season could not have gone better you want to make sure this Boomer Sooner crowd gets it going early that is one way to get it done and we get to break out the sooner Schooner the wagon gets to come out everybody gets jacked up everybody gets excited Oklahoma has an electric atmosphere and when these fans get involved early like this good luck they'll try to add another to their lead and he's got the extra point point and it's 7 nothing to start this one so that's a 59 yd touchdown drive on the run from inside his own five he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 Temple takes over and the owl will send the offense back onto the field they hope to be able to cash in on this drive David after having to punt it last time yeah and I think this offense to start it with the first play you need to be successful and productive on that first play and it gets you in less predictable situations no doubt too don't you just feel like there's a little bit more sense of urgency on this drive it just feels like they've got to be able to put some points up on the board and the defense stops him just short of the first down maybe needed a few more chain links to move the sticks he'll do it himself really nice job to get it past the sticks pick up the first down at the 30 here's this offense with a fresh set of downs from the gun running back gets to get and the defense holds firm no pickup at all on that play he's got it again runs through a tackle he's run out of bounds but not before turning in a big pickup and moving the sticks for a first down you got to feel good for this kid too he worked so hard this past off season to put himself in position to be the starting running back and he's got a lot of skill guys he's got speed open field running ability I think he's going to be a big part of the offense this season fires to the wide out complete to the right finally run out of bounds but he has his offense rolling with a first down throwing the comeback looks like such a simple throw but the timing is so important and as a quarterback man this is all about trusting your guy you know exactly where he's going to sit it down you anticipate it you throw it you know he's going to come back and make that play for him power football with the run defense holds their ground pick up of a yard it's at the 26 Temple lines up quickly looking to throw it's Brock fires deep toward the end zone and he's going to score touchdown and that is the first passing touchdown first of many the season for this offense nice drive by the offense way to finish it take care of the football make some plays in the passing game this offense looks like they're going to be a really hard one to [Applause] stop winding up to add another is smashes it through for the pat we check in with Kevin Conor what's going on Kevin terrific Showdown this week guys let's take a look at what's going on Duke is ahead in this one but unlike the days of Daniel Jones this offense is not guaranteed to just keep scoring points today they're up by seven over the astronauts any big developments in this wand we've got you covered with the best studio team in the business gentlemen oh and how about that I know Kevin and those guys will be keeping an eye on it for us didn't get much on first down it's second and nine they feed him again stacked up after gaining a couple to the 23 now facing a third and long give to the back got enough for the first and he's still going coming through that third down conversion and they'll mark it at the 43 the Sooners have it with a first and 10 and how about that on third down you give it to your playmaker in the back field and he's able to use his speed to go get the first and he's a guy that you should be focusing on with this offense he's definitely a game breaker he's a guy that they starred you know going into this matchup that they had to stop third down money down you figured they might probably get him the football they do and they get the first down fires to the tight end they stop him at the 42 but they get it across Midfield pick up 10 and the first down and this passing game has him calling Boomer and answering sooner again and they're starting to get this crowd jacked up and this crowd riled up and listen they love their team and dude think about all the success Oklahoma has had over the years different cast of characters but one thing they always have offensive success they're going to run it and they try the middle of this defense and that is not happening this has the makings of a good drive the seventh play brings up a third and four from the gun give on the inside and there were some collisions in there and the D finally stopped him short of the marker would have been a 52 yd field goal attempt from here so they'll try to pick up the first down here on Fourth makes the grab one pass the sticks they get him on the ground after he gets enough to move the sticks offense getting set for first down used the play fake now to throw unleashes one deep throw to the end zone it's picked off and he picks it off and takes it back before he finally steps out of bounds and that is how we will wrap up the first quarter entertaining first quarter and we are all locked up after one as we take a quick look at some stats we've got a good one going here and looking forward to keep those vibes rolling here in the second temple takes over and the offense will return to the field they're going to open this drive with a pass receiver looks it in it's complete he's there to make the stop but the damage has been done as they pick up the first down on the throwing catch sometimes you have to put it in a tight window and sometimes the window is gargantuan and it was there yeah that was one of them big old huge windows and and I tell you what when you throw over the middle of the field a lot of times quarterbacks are a little bit hesitant when you're that open it's easy to pull the trigger easy to make the decision make the read get the ball to your receiver it'll be a draw nowhere to run on that one he loses four on the carry the owls racing to the line in the hurry up [Applause] on Third and long he has to throw for it and the pressure gets to him down goes the quarterback third and long situation we're bringing an extra DB on the Fielder we're telling our front guys to pin your ears back and go get the QB and they get the job [Music] done Tempo lining up to plattered away a fairly short distance here toward the sidelines not his best work now the Oklahoma offense will go back to work boy they had that last Drive moving a little bit David but then the mistake just crushed them yeah and those mistakes are going to happen you going to throw and they got him for the sack we'll see if they can get a little better protection after the sack it's second and 12 the playaction fake oh oh so close to paying off the tip BR had it in his hands but it falls incomplete his defense is heating up they got an interception in the last possession you could tell breaking up and that pressure just engulfed him a sack for this defense pretty nice as a defense right when you can go nickel put five DBS on the field and not have to Blitz anyone trusting your front four to get the job done on third down and they do it right there getting the sack the Sooners will punt this one away doesn't say much for your drive when you're looking forward to the punt fair catch called for and made around the 20 yd Line Temple takes over and the owls send the offense back onto the field they just didn't quite find the Rhythm on that last Drive Jesse they had to punt it I think they got to be more physical David I think up front they got to do a better job getting blocked in establishing this running game and how easy does football become if you're the more physical team if you can threaten the run and then then run play action it opens up the whole offense at your disposal they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one lost one on that last one it's second and 11 back to throw it's Brock get it out on the screen turns it on in Midfield they finally get him stopped but what a good job by that front wall to set up the screen and create some lanes for their running back that is a time honored way to slow down the rush hit him with the screen and a chunk BL yeah such a great job cuz you're flying up the field to get to the quarterback cuz everything looks like pass down the field let those guys get up the field throw it right behind him he does a little bit of the rest making some moves getting up field making the big play the gift to the bat crosses the 30 he's got away and this offense is feeling it as they rip off a big chunk of yardage and they've got it on the 22 you count up those explosive plays in a game and you put a little extra Star by the big run yeah and this running back is a weapon boy he is so good in space he's got shiftiness he can make guys miss and if this guy gets into the second level watch out he can hit a home run Temple lines up quickly they'll run it out of the shotgun going to be a gain of about three down to the 21 debb Rising as the crowd Gets behind this defense on third down pressure is on the way and the pressure has arrived and down he goes at the 30 just a great job defensively making him go through his progressions and he really didn't have time to do it and that's exactly what you do in zone C you dring your spots you read the quarterback's eyes make sure you take away that quick stuff and a great job rushing the passer and getting the center and they decide to trot out the kicker and there is a degree of difficulty with this one a 47 y from the right hatch field goal is good and with that field goal they now have the lead Oklahoma [Applause] [Applause] so after the made field goal they'll kick it away and rely on their defense and he's going to bring it out of the end zone slips through the line he's got an all it can they catch him they won't get him it's a touchdown he just took it the entire link of the field end to end Coast to Coast Nationwide for the touchdown and how about the fans and the stands going no no no no no take a knee take no yes yes yes yes over 100 yards to the kickoff return nice job taking at the Enzo making a huge [Applause] play Ling enough to tack one more onto that [Music] lead and the extra point is good and it's a four-point lead you get a return like that and it can't just be the guy with the ball who's right everybody has to do a job and they did that in brilliant Fashion on that one and the returner goes down Temple takes over and the offense will return to the field maybe they couldn't pay off that last drive with a touchdown now they moved the ball down the field and executed like they wanted to until they stalled out and had to settle for a field goal I think if you want to take the next step two here and score a touchdown you got to start finding more creative ways to get your best players the ball let's see if they can do that here and the ball comes out what a disastrous play the defense snatches it and they're going the other way touchdown sooner don't just get the ball score with the ball and the defense did what a nice job by the defense not only getting the football out the awareness to scoop it up I got space get up the field a little Caravan To the End Zone making the big play and this offense in game one man not only do you give up the turnover give up a touchdown and you haven't scored that many points they got to get it [Music] together he'll try to add another to their lead point and the extra point is good and they have an 11o lead and let's check in with Kevin Conor in the studio Kevin all right guys want to update you on a game that went final moments ago too was able to cap off a close one inside the glass bowl with a narrow Victory and that's the mark of a solid program pile up wins build on games like these and main focus on the big picture unloads to the wide out makes a connection it's one game you don't want to react too much either way but I think both teams will leave this one with some things to work on moving forward and Kevin Conor is keeping an eye on everything all over the country sounds like they had a good one there back to throw it's Brock quick L out to the tight endend they've got it to the 49 yd line and they'll move the chains Temple lines up quickly ever since they invented the forward pass the tight ends have been running the drag and getting the first down I think it's because the tight ends is so much versatility you know they can block and stay in the formation or they can release and come out but either way the quarterback's Pati most of the time that drag route's going to come over on the move is the 30 and good good blocking in space out there to give him enough room to pick up the first down well this offense told us coming in they were going to challenge this secondary early and often they were going to use their speed to their advantage and take advantage of this quarterback's touch and arm talent and they'll already in the second quarter they've got over 200 yds thrown able to make the stop after a gain of two to the 22 second down here and maybe they've got time to get one more snap off before the two-minute warning we've reached the two-minute warning and this thing has been one-sided and they hope to at least have something to feel good about going into halftime on second down looking to throw he's got it huge game before he goes out of bounds and now they've got it first and goal this offense in scoring position with a fresh set of downs and that one is picked off in the end zone and he's brought down and this defense gets the ball back forito and to just turns out to be a missed opportunity you get the ball in the red zone and you turn it over momentum it plays a big role for teams and especially for offenses and when you have chances like that when you're down in this area of the field you've got to be able to come away with points even if it's not going to be a touchdown you are not leaving this area the field without putting at least three up on the board missed opportunity for the other the sooner offense returns to the field boy three and out last time David they'd like to be more prod Ive this time around yeah in the last Drive nothing really clicked no rhythm got off the field really really quickly they need to put something together here yeah David bad execution on that last drive so they got to take a collective breath and start playing like a unit on this drive from his ends a lot of room to throw downfield and the pass is incomplete thanks to a big hit tall Hill to climb here third and 10 from inside your own five just don't turn that thing over how about this confidence in the running game and he picks up nine just short of the marker it'll be fourth and one here's a Timeout on the field tight game here late in the first half fourth down and the punt team sends it the other way not going to risk a return here he'll make the fair catch the offense lining up for a first down [Applause] play looking downfield it's Brock throws to the wide out wide open downfield put it right on him sweet play good pickup and they'll move the change with the first down he's going to pass caught over the middle it's Clark there's a timeout called as this offense tries to find a way to draw a little closer now on second and short after the first down completion he's looking to throw shoots it to the left just flying through the air like a superhero to make the grab change are set and Temple has it with another first and 10 looking to move it through the air a little floer there that falls incomplete going to work in the Red Zone they can pick up the first down without getting it into the end zone he wants to throw here on second down and the quarterback is knocked down back at the the 13 they'll hurry to the line here to try to get off that third down play from the gun wants to pass they're bringing heat didn't have anything working and just had to throw it away on third down so they won't get a touchdown but a chance to put something on the board before [Applause] halftime it's good is [Applause] makes the score of Oklahoma 21 [Applause] 13 so they get the late field goal right before the half and not much time after this kickoff for an answer here's the return from inside is 10 nice job executing all of the assignments as they put a stop to that return at the 22 so the offense doesn't want to take a chance here they'll just come out and take a knee and wrap up the half we played two quarters here time to go to Kevin Connors in our halftime update guys you've been calling a lively one from Norman so far and it's been a clinic in fundamental defense football both teams have been Relentless and ball Hawking refusing to give an inch this is the kind of slugfest that real football fans love crushing tackles and dudes flying into gaps and passing Lanes a testament to the discipline both of these teams have shown with that said let's send it back to the guys at Memorial Stadium Temple will try to boot this one deep to get the second half underway and he takes this from inside the five nice job executing all of the assignments as they put a stop to that return at the 22 here comes the sooner offense back onto the field they go to work in the third quarter with the lead but they have had a little trouble keeping their quarterback upright yeah and you you have the lead you're positive but the offensive line coach is definitely going to be upset and the offensive Bo listen I don't want my guy getting touched he's being productive but give him some more time here in the second half I think you can do that too offensively by maybe leaving your tight end in to help block maybe chipping with running backs to help these tackles out on the edge because you're right that pocket has been shaky if it continues to be that way in the second half this could be a much different looking football and the Sooners want to pick up the tempo movement here from the tight end he'll keep it himself brought down to for 48 after a gain of five they'll line up right at the 48 yd line on First and 10 there's an example of the offense taking advantage of all the attention the defense is giving this outstanding running back remember he's one of the best in the and there was nowhere to go for this quarterback and down he goes playaction pass success has a lot to do with selling that fake you could tell defense was not buying it got in the back field got the big play a first down sack can wreck a drive let's see what they've got on second and 14 he'll pull it on the read they bring him down but a solid pick up to put them in position to pick up a first down it's third down and they have to get it to the 42 to move the sticks to the air it's Arnold fires to the right it's caught and he's knocked down immediately but not before he moves the chains moving into scoring territory at the 36 on first down caught in the back field it's SPS didn't pick up a lot there moved it Forward just a few they'll go to work on second down after doing damage on the ground nowhere to go and the ball is loose a defense Scoops it up and they're bringing it back and they'll drag him down after a good return looking for a productive play on first down first game of the year you're always worried about turnovers right and this guy has the Ultimate Nightmare on his first touch of the Year puts the ball on the ground he's got to be able to flush that out now you got to get ready to go play the next qu now the play fake and this sophomore able to wreak some havoc and get the sack when it's a playaction pass that quarterback he really has to sell the fake he can't tell his offensive lineman's getting beat right away while he's selling the fake he had no [Music] shot and guys they really need to take advantage of this field position on Third and long he's looking downfield to throw and the incomplete pass will bring up fourth down and this kicker has had a busy night the field goal unit is out there for the third time and this will be a bit of a challenge a 46 yd attempt from the right hatch oh he missed it no good flag on the field and the kicker's going to have a little bit shorter distance to work with here might be the worst case scenario for this defense thought they'd held them to three now the offense with a chance for more gives it to the back on the draw fights his way ahead they get him down after a pick up of three they'll mark it at the 12 operating in the Red Zone here on second down they'll give it to the back give him about a yard on the play it's down at the 10 and the owls will hustle to the line On The Run it's Brock and that one's way too far for everybody and they'll run the field goal unit back out there this kicker is already banged a couple through got to give the defense credit on that play taking everything away forcing the incompletion now it's decision time fourth and short in your INF field goal range what do you do here let's go to the studio now and check in with Kevin Connors Kevin what do you got two very different emotions inside the locker rooms of these teams who did battle today North Carolina overcame a sloppy start and just put the finishing touches on a notable Road win and to pick yourself up and dust yourself off away from Chapel Hill these Tar Heels got to be thrilled with this result 60 Minutes of football and a convincing outcome and certainly a game with implications far beyond just the standards fellas Kevin thanks a lot for that one how they had a good one there so Oklahoma has it again and here comes the offense that last drive and the turnover not what you're looking for when you have the lead Jesse Yeah and really I think for them it's just staying out of their own way they're making plays they've got The Playmakers to go and win this game so it's just a matter of executing better don't you executing better understanding I still got the lead put a drive together here and build on that lead they work their way to the 35 yd line it's a gain of five ball is at the 35 it's first and 10 they'll give it to him again got the first down and more and they'll finally get him down after a terrific pickup the Sooners will snap it on First and 10 and you're going to hear this guy's name a lot they're going to ride the big fella he's such a stud they're going to build the offense around him this is just game one but you're going to get a lot of big runs from this all the way down at the 33 yd line it's first and 10 the offense showing motion from the tight end trying to get a read on the D from the gun the running back has it they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one the Lost yardage leaves him with second and 11 trying play action pocket starts to collapse strong Pass Run gets to the quarterback and they get him at the 46 awesome job by the defense not only getting a fast quarterback on the ground but understanding what he wants to do he can take off I got to make sure I got good Pursuit angles and I got to make sure I build rails I can't let him outside I got to keep him in the pocket he tries to get outside they get the sack and get the huge loss on that play and whatever they did on first and second down don't do that anymore third and very long coming up going to try to pop one on the screen they play that screen nicely he tried to find his way to the marker but it'll be fourth down the Sooners will line up to pun it away and The Return Man will have no chance as the ball sails out of bounds Temple takes over and the owls send the offense back onto the field and that pass is intercepted oh big Juke to get pass didn't really have room to operate on the return but he hands him the ball at the 32 and that's just excellent cover that cover one nowhere to throw the football look at everybody playing man across the board and you still got the safety in the middle of the field nobody open and if I'm the QB man I don't need to force it I I Don't Force It In The Tight Windows if it's not there he throws it unfortunately gets the interception bad decision by the QB there now this offense is back on the field using his legs at SAA got the first down in more brought down just outside the Red Zone he moves the changes at the 22 might as well run him until they stop him he's got it again able to move it ahead a couple of yards he gets it down to the 20 and the Sooners hit it quickly to the line on the move it's Arnold and it'll be incomplete this defense is physical and pass deep they've got it right on the edge of the Red Zone but they face a third and long trying to make that Rush think on the draw play here they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one they'll play it safe and send out the field goal unit he'll try to knock it through from 38 yds out and it's right down the boulevard [Music] [Music] [Applause] the so the kickoff team is out there ready to boot it away after putting up a field goal let's see what the defense can do on the move from inside is five not a lot of space to be found good Hustle by the coverage team and they stop him at the 21 Temple takes over and the offense will return to the field he leaves it with his back into the pile maybe got one he stopped at the 21 didn't get much on first down it's second and nine quick completion to the right and they pick up just a few on that completion Here Comes his home crowd as the defense tries to get off the field on third down from the gun wants to pass grabbed over the middle it's right and with that effort they pick up a fresh set of downs they have it at the 34 yd line first and 10 as the clock winds under a minute to go here in the third quarter and that's enough leaves it with the running back stuffed almost in his tracks but strong enough to pick up one to the 35 didn't get much on first down it's second and nine looking to pass it's Brock finds a tight end and he might be known for run pitch but that was a sure and heavy tackle on the tight end a nice job by the defense there tacking the catch and smothering the tight end they know this offense is going to try to find him in the passing game and a lot lot of different situations that time perfect coverage and nice job bringing the big guy down not easy to do Tempo lining up to put it away he's going to try to flip the field with this one and they'll get off one more play before the end of the [Music] [Applause] quarter from the gun the ground game crosses the 30 got away they get him down and that'll be the final play of the third period we reach the quarter break with Oklahoma on top three quarters are in the book time becomes a factor both in trying to hold the lead or cut into it as we take a look at the stats one more period to go to see who can make the winning plays and come home with the victory so much for the tough field position One play and you're already to the 35 they'll try the run and he'll pick up one it brings up second and nine the Sooners want to crank the tempo at this point of the game the offense has the lead the offense of coordinator knows they want to keep running the football so he's going back he's looking at his playlist and he's saying which runs work the best for me in this game what can I lean on right here to make sure we win this one on Third and long trying to have a big completion here that pass not close as he got drilled trying to deliver it and it'll bring up fourth down and that is a frustrating possession for this offense you wanted to run the football maybe take some time you did the opposite got in a bad situation threw the football stop the clock not how you manage a game late in the fourth quarter Temple takes over and the owls send the offense back onto the field from the shotgun the hand off to the back tackle is made at the 28 after a pick up of three got three on first down it's second and seven give to the running back and more yards after contact and they drag him down but not before he picks up the first down no huddle offense to the [Applause] line hand off from the shotgun we'll give him a couple on that one second and eight coming up they want to get this defense on its heels up looking for a physical attack from the gun that's what you expect from a senior don't give them any extra yards great tackle [Applause] there they'll Run play action that pass is well off Target he got hit as he was trying to throw and they can't convert on third down Tempo lining up to PL it away a fairly short distance here toward the sidelines not his best work here come the Sooners ready to go on offense here's another opportunity Jesse to stretch out this lead after punting last time I think it goes back to your Playmakers Reese I think it's finding the guys that have been working for you earlier on in this game and getting them the football and there's obviously no need to panic I mean think about it you got the lead you got the football you got to be smart with the football make your plays put a good drive together here fires to the big fella they push it out to the 39 after picking up five from the 39 yd line it's first and 10 I love an offense that wants to stay aggressive even when you've got the lead late in a game like this right you still try to find your Playmakers and get them the B he's got it he got a foot down along that left sideline you know what it takes to make a throw like that touchdown Oklahoma and once he found daylight it was Katy Bar the Door baby game one you want to come out put drives like that together score a bunch of points and especially at home give your home crowd something to get excited about they have today they've been jacked up and they're going to go one and0 getting set for the point after and the extra point splits the upright in the lead balloons to 15 and for a quick update let's go to Kevin Conor in the studio fellas I think at least a portion of your audience will have an interest in the one that just finished up Wake Forest put one in the win column in convincing fashion the decks had zero issue moving the ball and that defense held strong and moments talk about a complete performance the circle of life in college football where one team moves on feeling like kings and the other heads home licking its wounds yeah how about that sounds as if they had a good ball game there Kevin thanks for the update comes out throwing on first down and it's incomplete if you're going to take a hit like that you might as well hang on to the ball after the quarterback and receiver failed to hook up they'll try it again on second down grabbed behind the line it's Washington he is going nowhere stop at the line of scrimmage better find the ear pluged here comes the noise backing this defense on third down all kinds of room to throw that one in there he knew exactly where he wanted to go with that one and they've got enough for the first down I think if you're the head coach at this point you're telling your offense doesn't matter what's happened up this point of the game obviously things haven't gone our way but we have a chance to execute in a two-minute situation and give ourselves a chance to win let's go do it one play at a time he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple Temple lines up quickly they'll keep it on the ground picks up the first down still moving and he's brought down after a nice game the owls come to the line time with a fresh set of downs he'll put the tight end in motion from the shotgun now here's an inside GI after the three- yd pickup they come to the line Second and [Applause] seven looking for a man it's Brock and they got him get him down for the sack a chance to sort of put the defense on its heels if you convert a third and long this one from the 44 looking downfield and he needs a bunch he's got an open man and he gets a big chunk of yardage to the 34 yd line well offensively they knew they were going to have some matchups they could take advantage of in this one and all of a sudden this quarterback has now over 300 yds passing in the game defensively David he has got them on their heels and he's been showing you a little bit of everything he can throw it all over the field to all different receivers to his tight ends to his running backs really has the ability to spread it around and now over 300 yards still some time left and he can put up even bigger numbers and hey go chase some awards man get some postseason Awards get an All-American just put up a day snagged in the middle it's right couldn't quite nudge it in not sure you could get much closer but it'll be first and goal this is an offense that has skill and they've got speed and because of that this defense they can't wall themselves to sleep they've got a big lead here late but they've now given up back and the defense makes a play sacking him back at the 10 defense rolls up deep in its own end on that last play now a second and long coming trying to get to him good job to avoid the negative play and just get rid of that thing so loud is rattling your fillings on Third and goal from the gun wants to pass ball into the end zone and it's intercepted and he's brought down and this defense gets the ball back for it own nice job by this defense that might be the exclamation for fourth quarter I got to lead you bring on the nickel defense you know they're passing the football for plays just like that to make the int and almost put this one away guys we'll get another look at this Oklahoma offense they'll keep it on the ground the clock is on their side running hard and getting six yds out to the 26 the Sooners moving quickly to the line and I like the first thought process right here run the football we want to run that clock with the lead thank you to the defense for forcing that turnover setting us up now if we can put a few first downs together we're looking really good from the gun they'll try to impose their will he's up to 81 yds on the day and the defense has been getting a steady di of this dude on opening day they'll snap it on first down from the 35 the run from the shotgun oh Ball's out oh the offense looks as if they fell on the fumble and they'll keep the ball quick timeout called by the defense stopping the clock to save as much time as possible for their offense and you know the standard is indisputable video evidence and the officials will change the call from the gun they'll try to impose their running game and the defense finally makes the stop after the sweet run and good gain the defense calls the timeout and that's their last one of the half and they'll take a knee we waited so long to start the season and just the way you want to start getting that first Victory and the first Gams are so much fun you've been practicing against each other over and over all through camp now you get to come out start the season off one and0 Jesse great start it was a great start for the winning team now for the losing team obviously not the way you want to get into this season there were some mistakes with execution and guys are going to have to do a better job individually but that's why you play the games you get to now go back to the drawing board get get back on the practice field try and IR out these wrinkles it's a long season ahead lot to play for that's going to do
