game 52 on offense but they were actually 30 on defense so you see some value there while the yards they were number eight they gave up some points and they're number 30 their strength of schedule last year was number 42 and when you look at their efficiency ranks their offense very poor was number 73 their defense was number seven they went nine and four six and seven against the spread and six and seven over under that snapped a streak of 12 straight seasons of double digit wins under tabos Sweeny how about this for a bizarre stat offensively in the Red Zone they were number 118 poor defensive on Red Zone they were number 63 poor but they were surprisingly a number two in plays per game last year so despite having the offense that struggled he still kept the pace up and again that's shocked me when I realized that Clemson ran the second most number of plays per game in the season when we look at their schedule they had six games decided by eight points or less which I call close games many times when a team has a great season on close games they fall back a few if they have a bad season it tends to improve well Clemson went three and three so we can't take anything out of that the Duke loss they had first and goal from the Duke seven and first and goal from the Duke one they fumbled both times then Duke had a 33 yard TD after a fumble and a 49 yard TD after the stop of downs to give the Blue Devils that rare win against Clemson against Florida State tied at 17 tied at 24 Florida State got a 56 yard fumble return touchdown in the third quarter no scoring in the fourth quarter and Florida State scores a TD in overtime to win that Wake Forest they held Wake Forest to 239 yards the game was close 17 to 12 but they had a touchdown plus lead until the last minute of the game so that really wasn't as close as a five-point final and against Miami remember Miami was wild van djk at quarterback Miami D held Clemson to 31 yards rushing on over 30 attempts it was tied 77 it was tied 717 into 0 time Clemson gets a field goal Miami gets the touchdown and against NC State there were minus two turnovers that led to two touchdowns that was the difference in that two players for six points the year prior but again when Clemson was on that run they had historic numbers of players drafted so they know how to withstand the losses in the NFL draft again they lost six players this past year for 19 points again clb Nick your quarterback 2800 yards 199 ratio does need to get better with some of those interceptions had four rushing touchdowns they do return their leading running back but they do lose Shipley they had a one-w tandem last year we'll have to see if someone else can pull the weight as they split carries often with their back field they lose their number two receiver but that's fine they return top of their five six top of their they return five of their top 6 I can speak and they are going to be an improved unit and the o line returns four starters they're in solid shape of all the four units on the offensive side of the ball the o line will be the rock their dline their dline loses their number their defense loses the number one tackler and nine of their top 15 tacklers their dline loses three and a half starters and three draft choices massive losses the linebackers lose two including an NFL draft pick and the DBS lose three and a half starters so when you lose when your DBS are basically all new starters and one of your DBS was a number one draft choice pick to Baltimore you know that is going to be the unit that has the most concern Clemson is still a fine defensive unit folks they play a lot of players they have a lot of depth but again that Lineback in core early you'll see they play Georgia and NC State in the Louisville at home so I do like this schedule no team has a buy before playing Clemson this year that's a positive when you look at the NC State game Clemson get a buy after game two of the Season they'll be your Young quarterback can now Prosper again they can work on things going in to that conference setting against nsky state they're off a buy meanwhile the wolf pack are against the neutral game against Tennessee and home against Louisiana Tech week two against Stanford excuse me game four against anford the second week after the buy the Cardinals are off Syracuse the week before so they're GNA fly to Syracuse and then either go home or fly back to Clemson now again these are all new travel situations that we're going to have to realize with these pack 10 teams I can tell you if an NF NFL team was traveling across country they likely would stay on the East Coast for that entire week I'm not sure that Stanford will allow that with their kids missing that much school so they may have to go at Syracuse at Clemson home Virginia Tech and then back out to MRE Dame keep an eye on that Stanford scheduling situation against Louisville they're off a bu Louisville's playing their seventh straight week second of back-to-back away games and third away game in four weeks and they're at BCC the week prior plus they're off Miami at Virginia SMU and Notre Dame again so both against ACC foes they've gone 20-6 77% and they're 7-1 88% if they're off off they have revenge for a home loss including four and0 since 2009 so we're venge spot against Georgia conference Revenge off a previous home loss Florida State and NC State are in that mix and my actionable info for this game Clemson minus 7 and half against NC State if you remember going back to look at our schedule I
