14 Massive Fantasy Football Moves We Made This Week

NFL Preseason Week 2 Reactions you loved our rankings changes last week so we're running it back again this week despite 14 teams not caring about preseason action this week Hayden uh we still have 14 rankings changes for the people everywhere from rookie quarterbacks rookie wide receivers running back rooms and a whole slew of other information yes let's run through them uh most important to least important how about that I don't know if I set it up that way uh but hopefully the show sheet makes sense for the people out there and we'll kick things off with the New York Giants why not Malik Nabers and the New York Giants Malik neighbors Daniel Jones 33 snaps for Daniel Jones this past weekend uh he went two of six for 18 yards and two interceptions versus the Texans starting defense then after that he went nine of 12 for 120 yards Malik neighbors we know finished 4454 we have been clamoring for people to draft Malik neighbors much earlier than on the redraft sites out there where he's like the second pick of the fifth round what did you take away from our first real Target former League neighbors this preseason six targets one carry on 17 routes that's 35% targets per route which would be absolutely Elite if we can extrapolate that thing out I thought it was just nice to see what he looked like when the ball's up in the air and his movements are just they're freaky now he was not perfect uh the rookies actually really screwed over Daniel Jones in this game Malik neighbors ran a couple routes uh interestingly uh Theo Johnson also made some mistakes one of the interceptions it was both neighbors and Theo Johnson uh causing some problems there was some drops down the field from the backup uh wide receivers neighbors did have a drop as well so it was not a perfect performance from the New York Giants certainly Daniel Jones uh wants at least one of those interceptions back but I just thought it was nice to see Daniel Jones move in the pocket scramble throw down the field and not a a single point during this entire game was I like oh this is a guy coming back from an ACL like you kind of like forgot about that he tore his ACL like we have a few weeks before the season he's moving around and it's very obvious that the peak of Malik neighbors will be right at the top of the list uh across the entire NFL so yeah the interceptions were bad but I thought he did settle down and he did throw the ball down field and uh I thought the offensive line looked okay as well I mean his brain did depart his body on too many occasions like that I think that's my big concern with this offense especially the start again that we got against a really good Houston Texans defense and they didn't play all their starters but even the first year he's G be a problem such a good team this year right where they're projected for the fourth fewest points in the NFL this season that is Meaningful and as we talked about on he the call we went on their show on Friday as we talked about all summer long you had to scroll down to the wide receiver 29 in points per game this past season to find the first wide receiver that played in a bottom seven offense in terms of touchdown scored now I'm not saying that to say you should not draft Malik neighbors I am saying that in regards to Malik neighbors individual talent and maybe just maybe this offensive environment we should have some concerns about that could lead him into a top 10 season you're obviously not having to draft him as a top 10 wide receiver on Underdog he's wide receiver 18ish on your redraft leagues ESP and Yahoo so on and so forth if you combine them all they're about wide receiver 25 again hammer it hammer it if he's around that wide receiver 18 territory but I am trying to despite how awesome as an individual Malik neighbors looked and when Daniel Jones saw single High coverage it was oh where's Malik I'm going to throw the ball to him and ask him to win one-on-one that's awesome stuff I do have real legitimate concerns about this team at the exact same time I have concerns about the environment about a hundred other players so again it's not a do not draft it's a hey draft with some concerns and understand what the environment can do as an output and a trickle down for an awesome awesome talented wide receiver when I went back I obviously saw the viral Twitter Clips the interception the pick six he can he had to throw that ball away there was some issues from the receivers on that play but yeah that was Daniel Jones can't have that the other interception though I mean Jaylen r or Jaylen hayatt got absolutely dominated it was isolated coverage one-on-one and he basically got thrown out of bounds so I'm not sure if I want to like throw that completely on Daniel Jones either there the offensive line looked okay and I think that was like another takeaway for me was how much Deon single ter played as well if you want to kind of tie those two together 29 of 33 snaps Tyrone Tracy did not suit up for this one Eric gray barely played with the first team but Deon single ter ran the ball very effectively up the middle the offense of line to me looked decent and remember back when Brian dable had single ter with the bills a couple years back there was a stint where he was playing like 75% of the snaps and then in this one obviously Tyrone Tracy is the number two he wasn't active so we can't extrapolate this thing but just putting out there like for the first half playing 90% of the snaps like to me that that made move him up my rankings he's still in that like rb2s mix but there's a chance he just plays more than we're expecting we we love the idea of Tyrone Tracy but he has to come back from this injury he is a day three rookie at the end of the day but there is a history with d ball and Devon single ter uh that he played a lot and that's what we saw in this last game yeah Devin single ter right now being drafted as running back 34 to me this is a pure situation where you're drafting the running back 34 and hopefully he finishes as like the running back 26 so it's like small win totally hear you on the jayen right thing also in that first snap we saw my league neighbors Go In Motion run a stop and that should have been an interceptable ball that Daniel Jones through I know that you're of the opinion that this Giants offense is not getting enough credit for what Brian deal did with them back in 2022 where they were like middle of the road in EPA and touchdown scored and all that type of stuff because everyone just thinks they totally suck they might um I think malague neighbors is awesome just a little worried just a little worried about the environment at large okay next DeVon Achane and Raheem Mostert Dolphins running backs if you don't mind me I might go in a bit of a monologue here because I feel like we need to talk about this you and I have been discussing Devon hen has being an awesome selection out there because you play for upside in fantasy football you play for the guys that can be the running back one running back two running back three overall and Devon hen has that in his realm of possibilities this year we know he's going to get the two3 turn on Underdog fantasy obviously in home leagues he's going a little bit later than that as the 31st first 30th overall player um there's a ton of awesome football content out there Nick urano mentioned that rahee moer snap counts with two and Anan uh was up to 85% compared to Devon Anan being at around 15% I know Mike Florio of NFL media did the exact same thing I had a totally different read on how those running back snaps were divied up in this game a big part to me of the distribution was the Dolphins only dressing three running backs for the entire game so Rahe moer got nine snaps then hn got 13 snaps and then Chris Brooks got 10 snaps and he got injured and they didn't have a literal running back for the entire rest of the game they ended up throwing 46 passes to 17 runs on 63 total snaps so for one I highly doubt that Devon Anan is going to see fewer snaps than he did last year when this 85% Mark is being mentioned for Raheem moard again I just feel like they knew that they had to space it out because Jeff Wilson was out Sav naked was out they had another back that was out there too so it was just hey let's not put everything on this one third string running back for an entire game because when he misses we have no one else and then he missed and they had no one else so they were just trying to split it up between the first two teams out there between their first two running backs and when Devon aan was on the field he saw three targets and they were designed there were some out wide uh he just a special player and to me his up side the hidden part of The Upside with Devon this year is if they really let him loose as a receiver because they were effective when it happened last year but they didn't do it enough he was a rookie after all that was part of the offseason thesis uh from Mike McDaniel this year is to get Devon ding going as a receiver and in the preseason we did see that so I'm with you that the Raheem moer it was a positive that he was out there for nine of the 11 snaps with Tua like I think that we've kind of like forgotten about exactly what Raheem moer just did last year Downs yeah I mean this is the latest a player that scored that much has gone in a fantasy draft I would guess in NFL fantasy football history so it's a reminder that if if this theory that devvon H is g to be used as a receiver a little bit more than he was last year he's still gonna obviously run the ball a ton there's still a path where like Raheem Moser gets 14 carries per game gets a lot of the goal line stuff and his price tag right now never made sense Devon aan Still gets there because he's going to catch two more passes per game he's still going to be like one of the best if not the best on a per touch basis and Raheem moer still is the one that's going to be uh finishing off drives with touchdown so I I've moved Raheem moard up partially because of this game but also just if they're gonna throw the ball to Devon hen that could be still enough for Raheem Mo to get there even though he's a 32y old and by the way he started his career so late he doesn't have the same like where and tear yeah the wear and tear of guys this rate so I he was always inj so there was a bit of wear and tear on top of course yeah small small running backs to get the ball ton do get injured that's definitely within the realm of possibility here but the upside is like so obvious my comment was like hey let's take things away from Raheem Ard like him as the running back 26 I'm obviously willing to take that selection because it's a piece of this Miami Dolphins offense that are gonna be top four in points scored this year I'm just standing up for my guy devvon AEK because I've been advocating for people to draft him all summer long and I'm seeing that this is fueled to say well why are people doing that why are people taking him in round two it's to what you said he had three Targets on 13 snaps this has been a drum beat all offseason in fact he didn't have a single catch or Target 10 plus yards down the field this past season he had won for 14 yards when he shifted out wide in this game um we've talked about it so often that Mike McDaniel is so good at turning running plays into kick returns with all this motion getting these guys out in space hey a new way that we can do it and we saw it on one play with Anan was hey get in swing passes get him out there as a pass Catcher And there's already manufactured space out there so I am firmly of the opinion that where Devon Anan is going we aim for upside we aim for guys that can change the course and the scope of your fantasy football season and he's one of the handful of names that are most likely to do it in my opinion last note from this game Nate Ty pointed this out from from Yahoo sports uh we always talk about Mike McDaniel he's always in innovating one tiny little wrinkle he did this this time he is motioning the tight end back one way and then right after that snaps the ball so the tight end can move back to where he was with a little bit more leverage on these run blocks so now all of a sudden the tight end has a little bit more momentum than he would have been if he was fully uh in a three-point stance so these type of little things just grinding the edges that's what Mike McDaniel does and that's why we always want to be drafting as many dolphins as possible and the third back that missed it didn't come to my mind it was Jaylen Wright obviously so again three of the six were healthy and active and two of them are pivotal players to your offense Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders let go to uh some of these rookie quarterbacks how about that let's H things off with Jaden Daniels because just before the show hit record he was named the starter of the Washington commanders raw stats from this preseason Hayden 12 of 15 for 123 yards one rushing touchdown can't get better than that right y well let's dig below the surface just a little bit on how those stats came into fruition Jaden Daniel's time to throw during 15 preseason dropbacks was at 1.91 seconds the quickest in the NFL last year of 40 plus quarterbacks 2.36 seconds Jaden Daniels air yards per attempt in the preseason five and a half yards down the field shortest in the NFL last year I think was Trevor Simeon at 5.7 yards okay so what we've seen so far is plenty of focus on quick passes plenty of rpos but we haven't seen like a real dropback game from this Commander's passing attack so far and we're not going to see it for the rest of the preseason so that's going to make week one really interesting lots of rpos lots of screens and then that ad do would even be lower obviously he completed the downfield pass but that was just like isolated coverage like a big uh go route yeah just pre- snap there's no reading that just saw what he saw pre- snap and threw the ball over there so yeah I'm seeing the same thing there's just like very few progressions now it's been effective so far and Jan certainly could run so uh it's also a good tactic if you don't have faith in the offensive line get the ball out that's what the Dolphins Mo has been the Dolphins has been a pretty bad offensive line but it hasn't mattered because Tua just throws the ball out immediately he sees what he sees pre- snap and gets the ball out um so that's kind of the horizontal raid that Cliff Kingsbury is bringing to this offense uh it makes it pretty hard to evaluate exactly where we are with Jaden Daniels at this point um but this was somewhat similar to what he was doing uh at LSU now those were like way more field vertical stuff but it was it was very much like all right slot fade Malik neighbors all right Brian Thomas go route and a little bit less uh that progression than some of the other quarterbacks out there but once again you don't have to be Mr progression to be effective if you are as athletic as he is yeah this is the patented Cliff kingsberry horizontal raid that we're getting so far and the main difference between you know the quick passes and someone can speculate on downfield stuff with what Miami is doing is with Jaden Daniels I think he only has one pass thrown between the numbers uh beyond the line of scrimmage so far so everything is outside the numbers and quick quick quick um a couple things with that that leaves me with the questions that I had unanswered positively or negatively the stat that we always come back to is that on all of his dropbacks 50% of his pressure dropbacks ended in a pass and that's it so it's either a sack a throwaway or scramble that was what like 193rd out of 196 according to Nate Ty now of Yahoo sports um because of these quick passes we haven't seen a single pressure drop back according to PFF so far this preseason I highly doubt that this is the offense that we see in week one that as JP Finley a beat Rider the team pointed out that maybe this is just to get Jaden acclimated to the NFL in terms of speed and coverages and these things but you're not asking to read coverages and typically with these athletic mobile quarterbacks their time to throw is very high because they make things happen with the ball in their hands so again it's just almost unanswered he hasn't done anything negative on this it's been positive with this stuff it's just week one to me is going to tell us more than what we've seen in these two preseason weeks which I can't really say the same thing for a bunch of these other rookie quarterbacks we're about to talk about yeah going to be very exciting I I do think there's going to be really high up there on the rpos this year lots of screens lots of rpos we're still trying to figure out exactly who the screens and stuff are going to go to do you have a temperature check on Johan doson so Nathan yonke who does great work over at PFF pointed out that Johan doson played all 171 personel snaps in the first three series only missed two total snaps I believe that third wide receiver spot was a rotation between dami brown and old media zakus and then unlike last week where Johan doson stayed in for like another it felt like 18 snaps after Jaden Daniels left he only played another five snaps in this game and there was those were mostly on the outside to get him reps there so look do I think Johan doson looks good in this preseason even average in this preseason absolutely not but these numbers especially this one in comparison to last week doesn't point us to him losing his job for week one for week two for week three at this point as a three wide receiver set player and even a two wide receiver set set player who shifts into the slot he he did miss a couple two wide receiver sets in now play off time yeah I think it was three of five uh which would be serviceable for Johan doson he just has to like make a play every once in a while that would be that would be pretty nice but if if he's working the middle of the field you know they haven't thrown to the middle of the field as of yet but and that's why I was curious who are all these rpos and screens going to go to it seems like that's going to be a pretty focal part of the offense in theory I thought that was going to be Johan Dawson once they got rid of Curtis Samuel they have not been throwing very many screens and stuff to Johan doson so yeah I think the floor is lower than we anticipated I think ultimately it will be okay but he does need to make a a play every once in a while because this is a completely new organization staff team name the whole exact whole opposite for where he was drafted um Luke mcaffry still with the backups um just for what wor yeah a little nervous I drafted a guy a whole bunch who's running a bunch of wi Sprints right now uh Ian hardit our buddy pointed out that Taran McClaren played left wide receiver snaps on 28 of 29 snaps so far this preseason so he is in the DeAndre Hopkins role under Cliff Kings Bear yeah he it's going to be the exact 2021 Cardinals offense now are you are you stoked the other part of this and we know hopefully Jaden's gonna be allowed to throw more vertically are you against people drafting Dy Brown in like round 17 round 18 because he is the clear other player that can do this in this offense other than Terry McClaren second play of the game screen to dami Brown and then third like the third and six on the third play and he converts it for are going to straight up draft dami Brown over John Dotson uh no uh I will draft him over Luke mcaffrey though uh I have some and I'm not sure if I'm proud of this I have some dami brown receipts uh if he does start popping off all the way back but if he doesn't we we'll we'll we'll make sure to hide this all the way back from 2020 I'm not saying that Luke mcaffry is going to see early season work but if they were just like totally fed up with Johan doson it's he is the archetype that will play the lot more so than dami brown or OLS okay before we go any further uh hopefully you're enjoying this we're getting so many new viewers on this channel that typically I focus on the 61% that check out our videos that watch them and don't subscribe instead I want to thank the 39% the 39% of you who spend your time which is very valuable watching us leaving thumbs up and then hit that subscribe button so we know that you 39% have a much greater chance of winning your fantasy leagues than the other poo pooed 61% that just check us out and leave and waste bags that they have you know so thank you thank you to the 39% that hit that subscribe button actually the these people are sick they like to be bullied and yelled at and stuff so I think we need to go back to the other tactic where we yell at people I think I think people deep down they they like that okay let's go to your guy bonck and the Denver Broncos if it hasn't happened already by this has come Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos out he will be named the starter for week one on Denver hey and simply put I'm surprised at the public surprise that Bon Nick looks competent in the preseason I mean he runs around like a madman we saw that at Auburn and but at Oregon he played a little bit more under control I've been okay with B Nick's preseason he has not completely wowed me either like this is kind of what I was anti yeah he's he's confident but that shocking people out there yeah I mean I don't I think people really gave up to him at Auburn and like didn't see what happened at Oregon now there's a couple couple pros and a couple cons immediately that back exactly what I saw at Oregon he is very underrated as a Scrambler and you actually can get him in the quarterback design stuff we saw that once again he is capable of throwing the ball downfield but he just plays very quickly and he always wants to take the low route instead of the high route there were two uh third down like third and N third and 12 completions beyond the sticks that were on time always accurate I mean bonck is always going to be accurate and those were nice reps but that was like two throws most of the other ones were like all right uh it's going to be a Tampa two the linebacker clears out and then he's just going to hit the tight end sitting down for seven yards that's I would say it's a pretty solid gain here and this team's just going to really just March down the field very methodically if this is going to be a functional offense I do think like the Broncos right now is like five and a half is their win total I think it's pretty low I think I think offense going to be a little bit more competent um and now we have a little bit more clarity on who exactly is going to be on the field uh as well for Fantasy but I do think this team in bonck like raised the bar of just like what this offense we can expect to be um right out of the gate he makes certain pieces viable rather than just the floor falling out from underneath them and a quarterback like Russell Wilson who will get to in a moment uh where you just don't know what you're getting Series in and series out like you talked about it all the time during the draft process Shawn pyton stole your notes and his pre-draft or post-draft press conference where when you took take away the screens and the rpos he was still second in EPA on all throws right and then when you actually watch the games yes there was underneath stuff and I always talk about he's more comfortable when throwing on the Move than he is just like impure dropback in the pocket stuff which is fine it can destroy his base at times but it's okay I'm not a quarterback Guru um but there were still like three to four to five plays in every single game where he elevated like the team in those moments and like that can translate here to Le now who's he going to throw to Hayden uh his top three wide receivers once again were courland Sutton cool we got that right Josh Reynolds yeah we understood that after them signing him and Tim Patrick for the second straight preseason game people's favorites out there and Marvin Mims had the same amount of snaps with his first team unit which was like 12 or 13 uh he had a single snap the same as David SS and Lil Jordan Humphrey again so your takeaways after seeing that for the second straight week I mean it's beyond over for Marvin Mims it's it's beyond beyond over for him uh there the one snap was also not the first snap with the starters anymore we don't have to we don't have to Galaxy bring this I I put my tin foil away I actually threw it right into the trash can it's over uh the the surprise here is Tim Patrick we're talking about two major injuries and he's just going to be the starting slot wide receiver they're going to go big slot they're going to go bully ball and it's going to be interesting to watch but Reynolds and Tim Patrick round 18 go for it round 17 B Knicks see if you can get a little scrambling round 18 with one of these two Giants and you've got uh a little stack at the end of your drafts here so I'm not super fired up about either one of them but if B knck is going to be serviceable this year and I think that he will be I I can see this team just like throwing plenty of passes underneath like it's not going to be chunk gains repeatedly so you might be able to PPR scam your way there and Tim Patrick uh he was the one that was targeted quite a bit in this last game I'm sure weaves will throw the tweet on the screen we talked about it last week where coache index has mentioned how often Shawn Payton this offseason has brought up size size size at the wide receiver position oh now we can add David Sills at 6 fo3 211 to that list in comparison to Marvin Mims is 511 183 and Troy Franklin 62 176 pounds like yeah we just have to forget that Shawn pyton traded up to get Marvin mims in his first draft back in the NFL because he seemingly has forgotten it that his kick this offseason his Kink has been going out and getting big wide receivers and that's just how he wants to play he wants to play bully ball Above the Rim at the wide receiver position it's pretty obvious yeah his Kink is Size Matters you can't knock him okay let's talk about the running back room and see if it fits there because what we got in the quote unquote starting snaps was somewhat of a 50-50 split between gavon Williams and Jil mcglaughlin we know last week that sham samaj perine featured in there and then audre Esme did not see a snap with this quote unquote starting unit you know me huge advocate for jilo mclin I loved this 5050 esque usage because Shawn pyton has fully committed to this air type back in plenty of other stops along the way in fact he's top five top three top one and his quarterbacks throwing to running backs in all of his best seasons in the NFL javante can do that we saw some of that in this game including the take away taking away touchdown but Jil mlin can definitely do that too yeah it's gonna be those two guys I think audri ese is eventually going to mix in there as well because samaj P Ry he gets demoted to the second team doesn't do anything last week he had that dropped uh pass that led to an interception they can save a couple million dollars by releasing him I'm expecting that to happen potentially this week so they give some ojp Ryan a nice guy a chance to sign somewhere else and if it's not then it'll be by cut down day in August uh when I was watching the second team reps audri EST had a couple massive like really big boy pass protection stuff and I think that's notable he also caught his passes as well just like he did in the first game because if samaj peran is not on this team he served a purpose not necessarily for Fantasy purposes but just to be out there on third Downs third and longs against blitzes and I'm not sure if Jalil mclin's going to be able to do that because he's too tiny maybe they want Javon Williams to have a huge load and he gets early down stuff and this role or it potentially could be audri ese as a kind of a pass protector uh check and release type of guy uh we know that they want to pass the ball B Nicks has a history of passing the ball to his running backs as well so there's value here I think that Julio McGloin and audri ese are worthwhile Dart throws towards the end of your draft and I think there's also a hidden upside that gavon Williams bounces back and then he's kind of the guy that's playing a lot more snaps than we anticipated from about a month ago yeah I I don't know if we're seeing the same javante Williams that we saw at UNC where he just refused to go down on First Contact he broke PFS yards created forc Mis tackle rates all that type of stuff but we can still get a bit of a grinder back out of him you know where jillan mlin can be that air guy the Pierre Thomases whatever you want to put it Darren sprouls some might say um and just you know not the plotter in javante Williams he's not again as explosive as he used to be but the guy who just picks up yards and CH yards now he's going around a bunch of those types you know we just talked about Devon Singletary a little bit zamir white is going way ahead in people's I rather have javante okay I think that that that's kind of the topic I wanted to bring up where that's going to be an interesting conversation whereas Amir White's going is like the 21st running back on redraft 24th on Underdog whereas javante is going 33rd in your home leagues and 34th on Underdog this point I think the Broncos offense is going to be better than the Raiders offense I don't know if that's a spicy take and I just think that javante um has a path to playing on third Downs where zir white after this preseason game Alexander Madison mix in again on passing situations uh so I just think that javante has a little bit higher of a ceiling uh but by the end of this this this year though there's a chance that gavonte Williams is not a Difference Maker he's not under contract and then all of a sudden the early down guy does become audri ese so even if we can write off audri estim for week one week two week three I do think by the end of the year this is the type of guy who keeps making every single pass protection rep he's identifying nickel Blitz as he's hanging in there and then all of a sudden now it's week 15 the Broncos are eliminated from playoffs and now they want to see what's happening with the young guy he's a boulder with legs you and I thought much more highly of him than a lot of the people in the draft Community who gave up on him after his uh combine and prod day numbers still running that that 40 but that's okay it's okay as long as you can pass protect yes as Ken William showed us okay since since we talking about running backs I have a gift for all of you if you use our promo code the show all one word or hit the link in the description down below you will get a pick them special for week one of Bree Hall a half yard that's it plus another gift we're matching your first deposit 50% of it up to $11,000 what a lovely time to play an underdog if you're getting ready for your home leagues it's the best homework you can have and also pick them those yellow States those blue states that producer weaves put on the screen you can play it you might not think you can but you can so click the link or in promo code the show to get all those goodies okay next let's talk about New England Patriots uh we did see more than Drake Maye and the New England Patriots three dropbacks from Drake May in this game what were your takeaways from the UNCC product plus his rookie tandem of wide receivers so 15 drop backs that was that was sweet and there he flashed on a couple of them his two best reps were deep or intermediate passes there was a backside dig that was right on time and we saw that on his tape at UNCC that was sweet we also saw that like post route where Javon Baker Dives and drops the ball that thing was to me was right on the money perfect throw as well you see the Zone read keeper for a touchdown you see a couple scrambles that's how you can start identifying a fantasy football ceiling now there were still a couple downsides that I saw with Drake may just for whatever reason some of his short throws just are Off the Mark we saw that a couple times I saw that at UNCC as well we had a little bit of a fumbled snap there as well he took a third and 10 sack don't love to see that um but the tools are there I think this was a positive debut from Drake maid now that he was actually playing for like legit snaps they actually gave him real dropbacks you can see the appeal with him the problem to me still is when you're watching this Patriots offense everybody is still so slow and pulk was supposed to be a a bright spot Javon Baker was supposed to be a bright spot I have not seen enough from those two guys to get me super pumped up Jaylen pulk nice couple Miss tackles out in the flats Javon Baker there's sometimes where he's looks like he's running fast but there's also times where he seems like he's just being thrown out of bounds he drops some pass he's fallen on the top of his routes so I I don't know I still have some problems with the offensive line definitely um I'm lowering my expectations for a couple of these rookies as well just because I'm not seeing a Difference Maker in terms of speed uh from any of the guys that are going to be in this rotation I think that's going to be their offense in 2024 is just a total lack of a Difference Maker and it's going to be 10 11 12 13 14 play drives all over again tough and that that's a tough way of playing in the NFL at this moment to me Jaylen PK was never going to be this exciting Dynamic Athlete more of a Robert Woods type that can play outside can play inside I've seen I guess more juice from Javon Baker than you have if he had come down with that vertical shot maybe the framing of this conversation would be a little bit different I don't know he he he's been thrown out of bounds multiple times and that that does worry me there's also if you're watching like the wide receiver room as a whole to me he has the most of the group I agree it just everything else seems so sloppy with them now the other part of this is that they are still running with the second team it's a problem that they jayer yeah they haven't been elevated to like the the real first team now again it's a very long season we're not necessarily playing for week one but you I would have at least thought that Jaylen pul would be out there like no matter what with the first team unit um yeah I think pop Douglas is like the definition of a pop gun slot receiver we know what Jaylen rer is at this point we know in week one they after that they cut Jud Miss Shuster Kendrick Bourne might come back and the goal to me though of that duo is for them to be secured starters like for the future if they get that out of those draft picks those are two hits for me I I'm not expecting Dynamite from both no it was notable to me though with pulk 54% of his snaps have been in the slot which is more than I was expecting I know he's an inside and outside receiver but if I felt like most comfortable with one receiver on the team it' be like pop Douglas is like a capable slot wide receiver and it's really low ceiling and stuff I completely agree with that but I thought that Jaylen P was going to be more competing with the X receiver role the Z receiver role and it doesn't seem exactly like he's necessarily doing that I think that was the easiest path better is just a sponge you know and I think Javon Baker is going to be a high variance spiked weak type like I just don't see consistency out of the guy with a juice and then I don't see dynamism out of the sponge if that makes sense I think you nailed it that has me concerned these are these are the guys that are supposed to move the needle for Drake may this year so that that does have me concerned it's just I mean they're projected for their fewest points in the League this year so like why are we why are we getting upset about this uh yeah to me the concern of Drake May by many people out there was how he drifted into pressure I think he showed in this game that pocket movement is like not the issue the drifting into pressure to me was drifting away from it and buying himself the most time as possible as he told us during Super Bowl weekend so I'm just a big fan of Drake may I don't know how long the leash can be for job Bret I'm just a little bit confused at like all the moves that the Patriots are kind of doing at this point and the offensive line is a massive worry uh not positive things about Co strange coming out right now okay let's go to the Chicago Bears we know that Caleb Williams are going to going to be their week one starter uh I don't know if you have any takeaways from his games and other takeaways from this wide receiver Trio of DJ Moore Keenan Allen Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears and roma dun was that a perfect game from Caleb Williams uh not at all but the flashes are just like so absurd that who honestly even cares like just throwing that ball on the money after that spin out was impressive there just there just too many rare throws that he's going to figure this thing out I think my my bigger takeaway enough already with the Gerald Everett stuff I mean the guy is just he's not the same player and they're using two tight end sets you're telling this Shane Waldren he's gonna keep doing it it's enough he's gonna canot move he cannot move he must evaluate and reconsider because they need to get three wide receivers on the field and when they do get to two wide receivers on the field this is the most important takeaway enough of Keenan Allen you got to get Roma dun out there there was too many reps in preseason week one that was on my radar and then we saw a couple of them against man coverage on this one where Keenan Allen just does not look like he's playing very fast and there was a couple mistakes uh in his routes as well which is really weird to say about Keenan all like the best one of the best route Runners of this generation but I don't know man romad dun is absolutely flying past some guys and he needs to get out there immediately because when it's when they go to two uh wide receiver sets and it's Keenan Allen as one of them and then Gerald Everett is like the designed first read Target is not going to work and this offense could be so much fun this defense is going be really good there's a chance that the Bears can be a very frisky playoff team if they get the ball to romad Dun instead of Gerald Everett is that is that crazy no it it's not crazy but there's a whole lot of structural things that we to talk about with Shane Waldron to kind of get over for this altim make his fetish yeah it doesn't totally make sense okay let's just look at what he did last year with the Seattle Seahawks who arguably not as talented of a wide receiver Trio but did have a rookie wide receiver there and did have enough three wide receiver set talent that that should have been his primary position it was at 63.8% of the time they ran out there in 11 personnel that was 19th in the NFL and our buddy Ian hardit also pointed out that so far this preseason the Bears are 32nd in the NFL with 11 personnel usage at 40% now that can be dictated by you know the depth and what they do in the later parts of the game so on and so forth but it's on my radar especially when you consider this tight end room that was most healthy all last year for the Seattle Seahawks they had three guys that played over 380 snaps at the tight end position okay Noah off Fant Kobe Parkinson will dley we we know and we talked about it last week on this very show that that's going to happen and in our opinion the ceiling what Cole K gives you where he's being drafted is what like tied in 15 which is nonsense over over but then we haven't even seen Mercedes Lewis this year and he's a glorified blocker but guess what just like will dley was last year who got 381 snaps on that team so Shane Waldron's offense uses all these different formations packages alignments that the math is getting pretty difficult right now unless DJ Moore definitely uh you I don't think you can draft Keenan Allen right now because if it's two wide receiver sets and Roman dun does flip past him then Keenan Allen based off of his uh athleticism at this point I don't think that he would be somebody you'd be fired up to start I still would want to play the long game with romad dun even with some of this two wide receiver set stuff maybe the first month of the Season he's he's not necessarily on on the starters list when we're doing our wide receiver ranking shows every week but I think he just moves too too well you know he's just too good of a player and I think that the the decline in age 32 I think this is like year 12 for Keenan Allen this is like when the AG Cliff really hits a year 12 32 years old and I think I've seen it with with Keenan now we know that he had an awesome season last year and was kind of that inside outside player that Kell Moore really features CD lamb type role right we also saw and we talked about I think last week in this very show that when Albert Breer went in there or talked to the Bears organization he said that Keen Allen was at 230 pounds we it there was a small comment that we made but the more you watch him the more and you have that in your mind the more that you see it a little bit yeah I'm with you on the radun stuff where right now he's being drafted as wide receiver 38 on Underdog and wide receiver 41 in home leagues ke Allen the wide receiver 34 on Underdog wide receiver 31 in home leagues I'd simply take Rome ahead of Keenan Allen in all those environments yep and that might not be the case in week one but when it really starts to count or like if you're trying to Envision who can be a top 15 wide receiver I do think that Rome has the better odds than Keenan and quick shout out to khil Herbert for just a nasty Zone run it looked like he tried to bang it in on the front side two Cincinnati Bengals Defenders cuz 65 I think the center whiffed his block converge in that hole he makes both Miss and then cut it all across the backside so arguably still the best Pure Runner on this team uh and if it doesn't happen for this team hopefully he gets a chance somewhere else he's too good he's not he's not leaving the Bears so I don't know why the Bears would get rid of them same okay uh one more rookie quarterback to talk about unless I missed one uh Michael Penix and the Atlanta Falcons Michael pinnix is not playing anymore the rest of this preseason Hayden 13 or so dropbacks what were your thoughts on that decision well just odd that uh they either 13 snaps is enough for until you see him in 2025 or something more Sinister is up and that Michael penck might get some action in 2024 that was my takeaway is like got to move Kurt Cousins down like they're this bullish on them every single one of their moves has been like this guy is the is the guy so obviously Kirk Cousins going to be the week one starter they've given him too much money um and by the way if they do end up trading Kirk Cousins after this year it would essentially be a one-year $62.5 million contract can't get moved until 2026 it'd be very difficult you can you can get rid of him next year it would just be a really big 2024 paycheck that You' be giving them for but it's it's kind of just like lost cause like you made your bed with Michael penx and they seem to really enjoy it now with Michael penx I thought he looked okay in the preseason week one it's not like he was looking like an MVP out there you know like he missed a couple throws I it was kind of puzzling to me that you wouldn't want to just like see him out there right uh but yeah this was just to me like all right the Kurt Cousins later half of the Season odds that he is the starter I think we're a little bit overhyped in this Falcons team which has been making some puzzling decisions last couple offseasons seems to really like Michael penck more than the rest of us and I think we should start kind of factoring that in a little bit interesting I'm not going as Sinister as you are I think it's puzzling from the fact that if everything goes according to plan base if we're following the money then we're not going to see Michael pennick until next preseason you know and this includes whenever you talked with former NFL quarterbacks or people who build NFL rosters or coaches how few snap second string quarterbacks get during NFL season because of just the time limits that these teams have so just from my zoomed out view I would have thought that more reps gives more work to Michael pinnick who really might not get any this entire season if if if the season goes the way they want it to go he's not going to get any this season I also wonder if this was part of the trickle down from the JJ McCarthy thing where I think Rime moris went on kadam show and said that hey you just don't know what's going to happen with injuries but again maybe we don't see Michael pinks now until he's 26 years old like that's that's pretty crazy yeah we also know what happens with injuries when you signed a quarterback who's like 37 coming off at Tor ailles like you like I don't know the Falcons are they're an odd team man yeah very odd um I skipped over a big one and in the preview notes hopefully you don't mind us jumping here but we need to talk Kansas City Chiefs WRs (Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy edition) about these Chiefs pass catchers oh my gosh because we know that Maris Brown is having a shoulder clavical all this type of stuff screwed up so five six weeks on the sideline there it is this Kansas City Chiefs offense even without him is going to do some amazing stuff you and I were much bigger Advocates than the wider draft community on Xavier worthy for me he was much more of like a pure wide receiver than people were giving him credit for who just thought he was the fastest 40 of all time he would do actual wide receiver things if you gave him a Runway you had no chance and then even along the sideline when he was pinned there he would lower his shoulder and try to run over your face what we saw this past week other than a behind the back pass from patri Mahomes who Travis Kelce was the effect and the balance in my opinion that Xavier worthy and Rashi rice give each other where we know Rashi rice when he started playing games from what week six week eight on last year it was all Crossing routes yards after catch they didn't have anyone to clear out space Xavier worthy at the very least is going to make Rashid Rice's job easier but I also think there's a chance that Rashid Rice playing well Travis Kelce playing well is going to make Xavier Worthy's job easier as well and it's so obvious that Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes know how to utilize the strengths of a player like Xavier worthy that we're already seeing more downfield shots with him than we have come down with than recent years with any of the other guys that tried it out in that role I have worthy and Rashid rice is top 30 wide receivers I want as much Xavier worthy as I possibly can draft down the stretch here uh he played in the slot he played on uh on the perimeter where he's running like really downfield shots and and Patrick Mahomes is like trying to give him a chance some of those will hit this season we saw some shallow crosses we saw some mesh concept as well and that was been a staple with at least last year's Chiefs when they weren't throwing the ball downfield and then more importantly we saw lots of motion from Xavier worthy one where he was it was a false start uh so don't want to over Overlook that but wins downfield against man coverage from the slot where he really slowed down his pace and then absolutely left that poor defender on his touchdown this offense to me like I don't know I don't have all of the the best offenses of in NFL history memorized but 5,000 yards 50 touchdowns from momes this year it does just feel like one of those Seasons where everything is truly coming together and I want to wave a huge white flag and maybe weaves can put this in in post production a huge white flag Rasheed rice is gonna ball out this year and I've been too low on him we haven't got a single lick of news on Rasheed rice in terms of his legal case it's probably getting to the point where there's not a trial set I I it's probably not going to get suspended this year it's at least probably what 65 75% that he's not going to get suspended this year then you get Hollywood Brown uh going down with injury and I think Patrick Mahomes is so locked in the left tackle looks good that's a first rounder or a second rounder um rookie he looks like he's going to be good it just feels like one of these Seasons from the Chiefs where everybody is gonna get home this year so I don't want to be completely out on Rasheed R so even though I've been low on him I'm looking to draft him uh as much as I can down the stretch this is the bar to draft him okay right now on all platforms Christian Kirk is being drafted as the wide receiver 30 you have to take in my opinion Rashi rice and Xavier worthy ahead of that wide receiver 30 Mark I agree uh yep yeah and even in this game it's not like we saw Rashi rice line up as an ex outside wide receiver and run downfield routes pinned along the sideline I'm okay if we don't get that stuff we got like three or four examples of it down the stretch last year so maybe here or there he gets I saw whip route today wh so if he just does what he did well last year it's going to be easier for him and if he does that well then what Xavier worthy does well is going to be easier for him too and I know that people saw the training camp clip of I think it was a Detroit Lions corner or San Francisco I can't remember who but locking Xavier worthy up in press coverage and stalling at the line of scrimmage do you think that Andy Reid is a good coach did you see how he was affording him free releases here either off motion or the slot or in Bunch sets or by splitting everyone out wide he knows how to manufacture space for these guys and as Hayden said the pacing to Xavier Worthy's routes is unreal he's not John Ross he's not tut2 outwell he's not Marvin Mims Anthony Schwarz I don't think that those guys had the route running Tempo and ability that I've seen with Xavier worthy so hopefully he goes to the right offensive coordinat because I think that he could be a very dangerous number two receiver look if if you had a pre-draft opinion of him that was not strong and you didn't love him as a pass catcher we saw different tape but I think at the very least right now he is locked in and that is rare to do in an Andy Reid offense is to be an impactful rookie from week one it would be stunning to me if Xavier worthy isn't an impactful rookie from week one as we see screen passes screens this type of stuff I think he's guaranteed at least four to five targets per game and that can go up from there too we'll do a quarterback ranking show next week so I want to say most of it but right now I have Mahomes my quarterback too I I fli him ahead of Josh Allen ahead of Lamar Jackson I know that those guys run more but this just feels like one of these Patrick Mahomes like a legacy season like really Legacy this defense is really good now he has like legit weapons like to me this is like a classic look back in history season from Patrick Mahomes and I do not want to be missing out round four Patrick Mahomes round five sometimes even like auto click figure out the rest later where are these going as wide receiver 42 in your home leagues out there wide receiver 38 is on Underdog right now again that wide receiver 30 Mark that's where I want to draft him okay sorry to do that just definitely wanted to discuss that Chiefs offense let's get back to some starting quarterbacks uh and namely ask Hayden what the hell that the Pittsburgh Steel's going to do so Russell Wilson vs Justin Fields Russell Wilson started this game after as you called uh leading his team out of the tunnel last week just some obvious notes Here Russ had five of the six third Downs that he faced were third and 10 third and 12 third and 8 third and 14 third and 11 they all failed he was sacked on two of them now we turn the page to Justin Fields who last week had two fumbled exchanges at the line of scrimmage with the center coming out from Center this week he had a wrong read on a fourth and two keeper and then his arm got hit as he was throwing it the ball popped in the air he caught it and then tried to throw the football again what is Mike Tomlin and Arthur Smith going to do here Hayden I think going to go with Russ and I would go with Russ just starting with him some of the sacks were on him an old version of Russ a more mobile version of Russ I think would have gotten out of at least one of them but almost every single one of them was just brri Jones or their first round tackle from last year he's playing right tackle right now getting his ass kicked and I mean I think most quarterbacks are getting sacked on those so yeah Russ Russ should have made a couple plays here and there Russ was not perfect he nearly had that downfield shot to George Pickins but to me if brri Jones or just the offensive line in general I think particularly the tackles can't play then this under Center play action deep shot scheme that Russell Wilson's been good in that Arthur Smith wants to design it's not going to be able to work if brri Jones is just absolutely oaying it out there so that was my big takeaways this offensive line a little bit more problematic than I was hoping for and Russell Wilson can't play in that environment but to be honest I thought Justin Fields was worse in this game uh than Russell Wilson uh I don't think I remember like a single Justin Fields drop back where the ball was out on time on the first read that made a difference he played like three quarters yeah that that's the thing okay so brck Jones I believe has an elbow injury right now brck Jones did not play this poorly during his rookie season like this was one of the worst efforts that we had seen so far and yeah there's that one snap I think it was an early third and 10 where he gets shoved into the back field there is an alley for Russ to climb the pocket Naji Harris whiffs on his chip block and then Russ drops his eyes and runs into the sack when there was a cavity for him to step up and climb the pocket this is the issue with me with Russell Wilson right now like for a while now he has been a quarterback you have to coach almost around rather than coach with because when there is pressure he drops his eyes and he tries to do this Hoke pokei and he's not as athletic as he used to be he's not as Noble as he used to be and I am totally with you that Justin Fields has glaring flaws right but I do wonder if it's fair to ask that if Arthur Smith believes that it's easier to build an offense around the strengths that Justin Fields brings to the table now you might be asking what those strengths are drive to drive it's quarterback mobility and the creation off of that like the quarterback Mobility is going to help with the running game which Arthur Smith specializes in and then if your offensive line is going to cave in like this it's the creation off of it either on scrambles or buying 3.6 seconds and then launching the football out of structure because Russell Wilson can't do that stuff you know and I'm I'm kind of getting to the point where I am wondering that hey Pete Carroll done with Russell Wilson sea pton done with Russell Wilson I know that they've invested a ton of this offensive line and maybe it clicks in week one or it clicks in week three but I'm getting to the point where I'm questioning if we are fair to assume that hey Russell's going to have a long chance at this because if he starts out poorly I think the leash is shorter than ever where Justin Fields is going to be a starter for this team I hear you with all that stuff I don't think the offensive line performance from this last week is is sustainable it's going to be better than what it was and I think that Russell Wilson will look a little bit better when I mean it was like the worst offensive line performance you can possibly draw up so I want to see the offensive line and Russell Wilson there becomes terrible of course but so does Fields Fields is the worst of all time but but fields at least can evade it and Escape it and create Russ just drops his eyes and takes a sure but Justin fields did not play a single snap on time and throw through the ball you can't you you can't win like that you cannot win like that I'm not saying either choice is a good one I know but Tomlin is a defensive minded head coach and this team wants to be able to throw off of play action down the field they do not want turnovers right that is the exact opposite of Justin Fields Justin Fields he can I thought he battled his ass off he made a couple really fun plays in this game but not a single time did he make a play on time right you can't win like that in the NFL I think the turnovers part is maybe Russ's big Advantage other than hey because I thought this offensive line and look it's just one preseason performance would look better than it did in that because they've invested so much in it over the last didn't play as well right and you know Zack Fraser is now going to start at Center because herbig is missing and all this type of stuff to me if the offensive line plays poorly that just like it's over the season's over it X yeah the season is over is the right way of putting it I I was of the opinion that Russ was just going to be the starter for this team and that was it because the beat Riders are saying that all summer long he also has this calf issue that is making his Mobility even worse I think we see both I think we see both before week six I I think Russ is going to play more than people think Garner mchu was named the starter for the Las Vegas Raiders Luke getsy I think Gardner Minshew Named Starting QB is really trying hard in preseason just from watching these G needs to because it feels like no team is trying to put up more yards and like actual week one game planning type stuff than the Las Vegas Raiders so far like menu's throwing more intermediate and downfield this preseason than it feels like he ever has before I was of the opinion that a no Connell was better for the likes of Devonte Adams of Brock Bowers of jacobe Meers because he would actually sit there and go through his progressions whereas Garner mchu just plays on his own schedule but I think unwillingly uh Antonio Pierce based on his press conference uh has to pick someone and based on the money they've given Gardner mchu they're going that direction your thoughts we know where this one's going they're both gonna play and it's not going to look pretty for either of them I don't know I don't have any any strong takes I don't think M or no connell's very good so well okay there's a chance that we get a bunch of RPO Luke mcaf like or uh L Luke getsy to Devonte Adams like that's been the history of of those two together and obviously Garder muu did that last year at a fair enough level to Michael Pitman so if I had to guess it's going to be a lot of things like that the defense is a little bit better I'm not sure if they're goingon to be able to run the ball that effectively behind this offensive line uh so yeah I don't have high expectations for either the starting quarterbacks and I think the most likely scenarios they're going to see both of them and neither neither one of them is going to play well kind of going back to our Malik neighbors conversation from earlier okay the projected points for the Las Vegas Raiders this year are at 22 I believe and that puts them sixth worst in the NFL this season again just to repeat this point and it was just one season we had to scroll down to the wide receiver 29 in points per game last year to find a wide receiver that played in a bottom seven offense and touchdown scored we know that Devonte Adams is being drafted in home leagues as the wide receiver 10 right now wide receiver 15 over on Underdog do you have faith that this team's going to score more than what people predict that Vegas predicts more than a bottom six offense in the League this year that terrifies me we're going to do our landmines in every single round I'm already telling you that Devonte Adams in round two was that for me yeah I don't draft Devonte Adams in round two I think in round three I I would I would draft him there I think that's that's totally fine but yeah it's it's going to be how it was last year where the targets are going to be there he can have some crazy games because he gets 14 targets but the touchdowns aren going to be there the explosive play down the field it's not going to be there either so yeah I think he's he's a more of a volume play in round three than like some Dynamic uh round two draft pick which is which is really sad because Devonte Adams to me still could play football totally but when they have they're going to design some some stuff for Brock Bowers we know that jacobe Myers weirdly got a lot of targets last year I think that he's he's a fine enough player as well Michael Mayer got involved a little bit in this one this team wants to run the ball and play slow because their defense is better not a good recipe I'll give you that we know that the snap counts and how long people play is an art and a science as you have put it I think zamir white played till the third quarter of this gamees that is that on your radar at all I mean it has to be on your radar a little bit and then with the starters he was not a bcow I I hope people weren't expecting that but down the stretch last year like zamir why like the Raiders were like in a lot of games they were winning games when he was the starter um I don't think that we should be copy pasting those because the Raiders gonna be trailing in a lot of football games this year and Alexander Madison we don't like to hear it Alexander Madison is going to be on the field for the Las Vegas Raiders plenty this year I think zir just looks so much better than Alexander Madison but but you can't you can't give zamir white 70% of the snaps and I think it's going to be like 55 45 zamir White's going to get most of the the the goal line stuff and then Madison when it's the two-minute drill I think it's going to be Alexander Madison should we go to rookie running backs then uh let's kick things off with Kimani Vidal and the Los Angeles Chargers the Los Angeles Chargers Gus Edwards did not play JK Dobbins did not play but the real boy kamani Vall suited up and stepped onto the field uh of Nathan yon's eight snaps that allocated to starters it was four for Jarrett Patterson four for Kanan viid doall he stayed in obviously longer than that uh you and I had the conversation last week from the great Daniel popper over on the athletic who left previously kamani Vidal off his 53 man roster that has now been updated I'll read this quote for all of you quote I left Vidal off my 53 man roster projection after week one of the preseason my grade at that stage was incomplete he had missed a week of practice including the joint session with the the Rams before not playing in the preseason opener against the Seattle Seahawks you have to earn your spot in the NFL and that will especially be the case under Harbaugh bll had a strong week of practice last week followed up with a solid performance in his first game action I moved him ahead of Isaiah Spiller and onto my 53 man in my running projection Hayden is he now a value yeah nothing really changed with kman V all the whole offseason it's been the same thing like we know that Jared Patterson isn't very good Patterson by the way is like one of the only running backs to not force him his tackle this preseason there's a reason that he's been cut by the Chargers and commanders multiple times I'm not worried about Jared Patterson Gus Edwards and JK Dobbins they're the veterans week one it's going to be those two guys do we think that those guys are stable presence no I think the big takeaway with uh the Chargers is this offensive line rules and will dley rules they were doing so many fun uh running schemes they were pulling people we had I mean Joe Al looks amazing the tight ends can block which we have not been able to say Antonio Gates was there no Gerald Everett can't run or block it it was it's something else but will dley can block and this offensive line is going to be really fun and I think that's kind of the reason why that you should still be able to draft kman Vidal in the last couple rounds because we're playing for way down the the season Y and this offensive line we know is going to be good because they have bunch of first round picks we know Harbaugh wants to run the ball a ton and every single one of their offseason moves suggest that they want to do that so the kamani viall process has been secure the entire time um and I'm glad that we got him uh in the game so so early but the ADP has very fluctuated we did a show a long time ago I think back in June where seven players we haven't drafted so far that was right when Daniel Jeremiah mentioned hey if you play Fantasy Football you need to be drafting JK Dobbins I mentioned I was terrified at that point I drafted any JK Dobbins I since packed my bags with JK Dobbins at that point vidall was going 17 spots ahead of JK we know kind of since then it's fluctuated to now Vidal as being the running back 54 over on Underdog JK doin's the running back 47 and Gus Edwards the running back 36 so the 8p has very fluctuated despite you thinking like the room has not at all yeah I'm moving down a tiny bit off the popper thing but the other thing is when you have a new coaching staff and new decision makers the beat reporters just don't have the same sources like that's just how the business works and I think it was just mainly a guess and He adjusted his opinions but yeah I think like week 12 to week 18 you you think that's gonna be Dobbins over Vidal no no no no no no no no that's not what I'm saying that's my and that's my and that's my thought process is that's why I'm higher on the fact that the Chargers their first running back goes RB 36 is a sign that we should be drafting somebody and I would rather take I've been saying that the entire summer like every single guest we bring on whoever that hey everyone believes that this team talked about it on Mark and Dan show that this team is only going to run the football and yet we get these guys super late I think if JK Dobbins is healthy in week 17 he's going to be running ahead of kamani Pall but I mean if you gave me the odds on that we know which dire I would go into so vidall who by the way on his individual runs was very little waste in movement following his blockers bowling ball Boston Scott is a little bit okay okay so I think it's very obvious that this team is going to give Gus Edwards and JK dobins the first chances and Vidal is goingon to be one of those players that hey he might need to make the most of five snaps here or there at the start or if a player goes down for an injury then that's how you build up the chart that's happened to so many late round running backs in the Years um so because of that Hayden I disagreed with him being drafted ahead of JK Dobbins but I'm totally fine with drafting him later on right now where he's going y uh after watching Vidal on this Vision super super short stocky built Harbaugh I was like a little Blake Corum to his game now he's not as explosive as like what I'm hoping Blake corm could be um but like if you're just told me like all right we have to get through this season and some short stocky back is going to come out of nowhere and just touch the ball a ton I think like there's a potential that it's kamani VI all if Justin Herbert did not have this planner fascia injury I would be talking more and more and more about this Chargers offense because the foundation of it as you said is this offensive line that's gonna be sweet they're so sick you have a quarterback who is awesome you know and just again people have these assumptions that they're never going to throw the ball by the way what you think of llad makoni we saw his first snaps this preseason too it was almost exclusively out of the slot yeah um not not a whole lot of takeaways to be honest not notable that Quinton Johnson was still running behind Josh Palmer and Bryan rice on the outside but he did credit where it's due yesj got open way down the field in and a nice comeback route too along the sideline so that that was that was cool for for QJ I'm hoping that he can figure it out because the best of QJ is a fun player so i' would rather have fun players be good than not the Chargers backup quarterback situation is as bad as y it's pretty bad you can't you can't even evaluate these guys basically it's tough when when trying to throw it on the field but qj's like wide receiver four on the outside at this moment so it seems like lad I don't know about two wide receiver sets I would probably bet against it at this point but I would say he's their starting slot wide receiver and we'll see how that build but again the foundation of justce offensive line I think this is going to be a winning football team this year and for that reason I think they're going to be in the mix of League average in touchdowns and we just get so many these guys at discounts man that that would be a little bit surprising to me the we need to get Joey Bosa on the field there's some injuries on the Chargers defense that needs to get IR yeah no I know but just to be like win half their games this year that would be pretty impressive stuff but that offensive line I'm telling you guys when you have the end zone angle with these runs and you got to see what these offensive lineman are doing and it matters so much sweet it matters everything for an NFL season okay we all have uh preseason crushes they come around every single year I found mine this year it is bills backup running Ray Davis and the Buffalo Bills back Ray Davis wow so if we're talking about snap counts Mitch trubisky playing this game I think all 18 snaps he was in with the starters James Cook saw all 18 of those but man when Ray Davis gets in games he makes things happen and I think back to how Brandon Bean and Sean McDermot and all the OC's that they've had have like tried to build this running game and where they have trusted a talent and I think James Cook is talented on the field they brought in Damen Harris prior to last year with most likely the idea of hey do what you do with the New England Patriots when we get down to inside the 20 inside the 10 you're going to score touchdowns we know that never worked out because he was never healthy but I think there's a ray Davis Damen Harris combination uh in comparison to to be made and we still don't have an answer of if James Cook despite these awesome between the 20 Seasons that he's had so far who they trust inside the 20 yard line just from a pure type of player standpoint Bray Davis is that kind of guy I think he's gonna surprise people again despite not playing a single starting snap in this week I think he's gonna surprise with how he's going to be used in this offense and how he's going to be relied upon in certain situations and with the bills I'm not sure if he it's like exactly trust with James Cook it's like he's just not the body type that you could just absolutely Hammer so he needs a compliment latavius smurray Damien there's a bunch of names Ray Davis is they finally went young with with the compliment which I think was smart the the interesting part with Ray Davis and I thought he was an okay prospect there nothing like really stood out to me there was a couple runs here like you said that that caught my eye but he can play in passing situations and catch the ball and that's to me like his best upside cas is if James Cook is like erased from the offense due to injury I think that there's a chance that Ray Davis can kind of play like all the important stuff two minute drill and at the goal line he's competing with Ty Johnson and I think like Joe biscaglia said that Ty Johnson's gonna be in the mix to some degree but that's not assuming that Ray Davis is like a Difference Maker if Ray Davis like actually could run it a little bit then I think he's got some upsides like compared to like brayan Allen and some of these other rookies out there I think that Ray Davis's like path to being like a passing down guy and the goal line backs a little bit clearer so he still should go after the alers and the chuba Hubbards and those type of guys who we've seen it but in terms of like the rookies I think he's my rb4 of of the rookie class projecting for this season I would have him in the same spot like he's going right next to audri Ese and I would take him above aldre G on all those leagues I think there's going to be some Standalone value there I know we haven't seen it with the starters yet but I do think as the season goes along what he brings in comparison to maybe weaknesses that James Cook who I really like as a play they just you know they fill in where the other one might not it's the yin and the Yang a little bit and this team's been searching for the yin and the Yang again like a 35y old latavius Mur was taking opportunities away from James Cook last year how about bringing in a 25y old rookie to do that this year that just makes sense yeah um also we got news that Curtis Samuel has a turf toe week to week why me why does this always happen to me uh we did see Keon Coleman and M Hollands running as outside wide receivers quite a bit in this game yeah this was one where like in my column uh where where I recap the games I just put stock down all of the Bills wide receivers because to me this is just going to be a rotation and the guys that don't play full-time Snaps are going to be the ones with the highest targets per route yards per route because they're G to be schemed up passes that's C and Curtis Samuel when he's back and then the two guys are going to play a bunch of snaps which is Keon Coleman who played all the snaps of the first team offense once again and then Mack Holland he was playing over mvs as the other big outs side receiver those guys aren't going to be Mr yards and targets per route so what do you get you get a bunch of wide receiver fives in fantasy and maybe in best ball it's it's a better value because you don't have to predict when the touchdowns or the the game scripts going to flip and all of a sudden Curtis and khil Shakir catching a lot of passes but to me this is like set up to be a four wide receiver rotation um and Curtis Samuel wasn't getting the snaps I thought he was going to in the first game now he's injured so you have to move him down and then Keon Coleman he's played a bunch and he has what uh like a 63 yards per route that's not going to get it done 19% Target Target only on the outside basically yeah it's just not it's just not a recipe like who would you who has the best chance of becoming the wide receiver 32 in in fantasy like of this group like to me it's like hard to really guess which one because the guys I'm I think I'm most excited about is Curtis Samuel but he's injured and was not getting the snaps I thought he was going to I I think he'll still get the snaps when he's out there I mean I don't think you bring in someone like Curtis Samuel that already has the history with Joe Brady and then play him wide receiver four in snaps no yeah I think he's gonna be like the wide receiver three in snaps and play 68% of the snaps be manufacturer touches on them more than 68% I think if when he's healthy I hope so so I think I would rather have cures but I'm not as optimistic as I once was because I thought there was a chance he be like 85% and I'm not sure if he is but in a weird way this doesn't change my feelings on Josh Allen because he's still is just like gonna put the team on his back it really doesn't to me it might for you like again we talk all the time I really like dton conade as a player he just has to play more this year in order to really make good on the tight end five ADP that he's going in and he probably will he probably will do that but I'm okay with or not being like a true Alpha because again when it's nut cut in time Josh Allen just runs for scores throws touchdowns and Wells them into existence into a playoff team yeah I'm not saying Josh Allen's gonna be a bust he's he's too good for that but it's enough it's enough for me where Patrick Mahomes I I do have Mahomes ahead of Josh Allen you you just can't project 15 rushing touchdowns from Josh Allen and especially score them all exactly but yeah I just think the bills this wide receiver rotation they can finish 10th in in scoring this year and and Mahomes might set the record let's talk about another rookie Runner uh we discussed Trey Benson last week and showed you Trey Benson examples from his preseason week one where I felt he was bracing for contact on every single one of his runs uh Charles Robinson pointed this out he talked to an NFL evaluator prior to the draft quote from here he can be physical but he looks like he's a bit of a crease Hunter at times I don't want to be overly critical of that it meshes with his speed and creates big plays but the level of athleticism is about to take a huge jump in defenses he's facing and sometimes he's just going to have to take the tough yards so I never seen that quote until this morning um watched preseason yeah watched preseason week two and when they gave him those creases uh there was that fourth run to the outside where boom Lane Off to the Races he did some Slalom skiing in between the center in the guard and the tackle in this week and picked up some cool runs and it was just so much better at breaking tackles once he got to the third level than he was trying to take on contact at the first level but again I want to bring it back to where he was being drafted before as like running back 35 to me baked in the Public's idea that there was a chance that he would just take over for James Conor even when both were healthy I still don't see that here and I'm still comfortable ranking him honestly in line with someone like Ray Davis who I think that it's more of a sporadic player maybe some Standalone value but no real chance of taking over as the primary Runner because I think James Conor is still clear in shoulders ahead yeah I think it's gonna be James Connor again this year for as long as he could stay healthy right um Trey Benson looking back at my running back uh notes from the the the process 13 career under Center carries 13 this is an offense that will be under Center play 13 his entire career that's pretty incredible uh below average 42% success uccess rate now he makes up for that because when he does hit that he can he can hit it for 60 yards so he's not as Shifty and talented to me as like Kenneth Walker but it's like kind of that type of profile I think Trey Benson's a tick Below in terms of just like how Dynamic he is but that's a style and when you have James Connor who could Loki can kind of do a little bit of both uh his vision's awesome he can he can finish he's got a little bit more burst than given credit for so just different styles in the card like really trying to figure out exactly how to use and I think the end of the day it's going to be compliment outside Zone see if he can cut it back and there will be times where he rips off a 40 yard touchdown but I think a lot of times can be a little bit of a work in progress as a rookie and I wouldn't rule out Michael Carter as playing a role in this team on passing Downs too just I think it's likely yeah I think it's very likely okay Bucky Irving Tim Bay Bucks guy I was a big fan of kind of broke the mold Bucky Irving and Rachaad White at Oregon where he was 192 pounds but when you watched him just forced a ton of Miss tackles was so good at for forcing Defenders to overrun plays and then cutting it off their shoulder and making them whiff in the Hole uh he's shown the same exact things during this preseason with the Box yeah the Graham Barton once again the first round Center looked awesome name the starter at Center yeah I mean he might be a pro bowl starter at this point uh he looks amazing Bucky Irving yeah his his explosiveness like not long-term explosiveness but like just enough to get to that second level has has been impressive so so that's good to see against more athletic play players around him um still undersized and some of those weaknesses are going to kind of hold him back long term but the they they have a number two back that's very capable in my opinion I thought he made the right cutback decision on four of five of his runs um so yeah I think it was a good performance from from Bucky Irving but I think that I think the Buccaneers like they're to me like the obvious team that everyone's gonna say yeah they're going to regress this year they lose Canales I don't know man if this offensive line is better than they were last year they have a little bit more depth at wide receiver and at running back I think this team could could win the division still I think they're very much in the mix and uh I think Graham Barton being a a smash pick could really be the Difference Maker uh in the NFC South he can be a massive differen maker for someone like Rashad white who Rashad White had a ton of passing game volume that's what he was good at at Arizona State uh I think some of his efficiency numbers were because of the inter tier of the offensive line and a player can change that I mean Graham Barton can do that for someone like Rashad white and just I'm a fan of Bucky Irving but let's say Rashad white keeps somewhat of the same workload that he did last year he's being drafted as the running back 15 and Underdog running back 14 in your home leagues uh wouldn't shock me at all if he beats that if he beats that ADP like I'm I'm more comfortable drafting him this year than I was last year albeit I understand s last year he did very well for the people that did draft him if that makesense yes he did yeah it's it's him James Cook Joe Mixon that's kind of the tier you can tell me that he should be the first of that tier you know like he he catches a ton of passes this I think that this offensive line like you said is going to be average to good now instead of awful and and it's not worth saying like Tristan wors was all for Luke geki was but as a run blocking unit they were not good yes and and grah Barton is an elite athlete and Rashad white was excellent in the screen game I want to see Graham Barton out in space absolutely dominating some poor safeties and Corners at the second and third level and I believe we get some uh Ray Davis Love from Liam Cohen who caught a lot of passes during his time at Kentucky who knows how to script it up and those types of things obviously with the Rams too Shan shanan or McVey tree Chris Rodriguez bcow Ray Davis bcow at Kentucky Rashad white is proven that he can be a bcow let's let's see what happens it's always tough for me to know which years Liam Co was actually at Kentucky because he like went from there to the Rams and back and then now he's back anyways it's just it's a weird all mix up okay uh not a rookie but I feel like we need to close the show maybe Tank Bigsby with tank Bixby I know that we let you down by advocating for people to draft Tank bsby last year and on some level Travis etn 2022 season and 20123 season from like a efficiency standpoint were very similar yet last year he scored tons tons of touchdowns I think a major part of that was because again Doug Peterson being unable to trust anyone HS in the depth chart we have shown you many times these seven targets that tank bxby had last year there is no worst film out there no worst film okay including Alexander the worst film I've ever seen and Miami Vice the worst film I've ever seen tank BBY looked good this preseason Hayden he does he does and he's doing the things that went exactly wrong last year this last game uh he C catches a screen pass does not drop it does not lead to an interception that's a win catches a ball out of the slot and then wait for it even catches a ball not on the slot out wide catches the ball in pass protection two blocks up the middle uh AAP Blitz another one where where there was a stunt the the three technique comes around and he squares him up love to see that he has always been able to run with with burst and I think that's kind of like the the part of his rookie profile that kind of goes a little bit Overlook he played a little bit of fullback which dropped down his yards per carry but I think he's always had like the athletic traits to be a good runner he's catching the ball right now so that's super promising training camp reports have been positive I would say the preseason performances those have also been positive I I you have to move them way up the list in terms of like the rb2s that could get replaced I don't see tank bsby getting replaced in fact like from what I've seen like he's he's been a good football player like not even a replaceable one he's been like actually good because of last season tank bsby is is being drafted as the running back 65 is on Underdog running back 71 in your home leagues I put him right there with again my guy Ray Davis as where you should be drafting him much much much earlier than where he's going if if you're into that sort of thing late in your drafts okay we have to get out of here before 90 minutes a couple of notes that I missed on during this marathon of Rapid Fire an episode the first one is with a Steelers we forgot to mention that Jaylen Warren is dealing with the hamstring injury that is according to insiders putting his week one status already in doubt that is not what you want to hear hamstring very different than ankle sprain hamstrings high risk of recurrence hamstring already saying uncertain not that oh he's definitely going to be back here in three weeks we talked about the offensive line hopefully they better run blockers and they are pass protectors you and I have been like 5050 on oh yeah give us Naji Harris give us Jaylen Warren whichever one is going to fall to us in drafts because we believe in this running game does this make you want to bump up Naji Harris at all maybe a a a tick and then Jaylen Warren down a little bit but they're priced that where I think they should be priced um but yeah in my notes with Jaylen Warren is like just because you like the player does not mean you got to ignore their soft tissue injury the soft tissue is a soft tissue so um yeah it's notable but in week one you can you can hopefully you've been able to draft somebody else that can fill in for Jaylen Warren so I think the long-term upside case Still Remains is just the floor is lower later on this week I think probably Wednesday Thursday Friday we'll have cheat code videos for ESPN Yahoo and sleeper on some of those platforms Naji Harris is going way too late as like running back 25 we're close to running back 20ish for those so again if it's your first time here on the channel you kind of hold your hand through the biggest values in every single round on each of those platforms give you a blueprint to draft from so uh definitely hit that subscribe button because those are some of our best videos all season long and one final thing shout out to the Nate excuse me shout out to the great Nathan yon jonu Smith who we haven't talked about enough this preseason had some really interesting interesting splits okay in 11 personnel which is One Singular tit on the field the Dolphins had 13 plays of that jnu Smith saw 12 snaps compared to Durham smi's one okay then in 12 Personnel meaning two tight ends on the field the Dolphins ran that out of 12 Place Duren SMI had 11 snaps Julian Hill had 10 and jnu Smith had three so we even saw this sick reverse of getting a player like Johnny Smith out in space and a Mike McDaniel offense he knows how to use a player like that but it's fascinating to me that we talk about just singular and two tight end set players at tight end this one's even more so where it's Personnel grouping standpoint yeah for Janu Smith that hey when we get speed out there on the field he's out there we want to bulk up and get size he's not out there when they want to pass he's out there when they want to run he's not out there and like McBay really he does not want to have HS McDaniel and Shanahan are more okay with like switching out the Personnel because they're like just stop it I I dare you to stop it you know you're running the ball because Johnny Smith's not on the field and we have we bring in these tight end that you've never heard of well good luck stopping it because you don't even know which direction this damn ball uh is even being ran to so yeah you have to move Johnny Smith a little bit down there but to me when they want to pass the ball he he will be on the field and it's just harder to earn targets when you have you know Tyreek Hill and Dylan W on thei and it's one of those scenarios where maybe snap counts doesn't matter as much because when he's on the field he has a chance of getting the football you know so like the efficiency will be higher than the total per route than the total number of snaps will be uh anything we missed on your end yeah um generic Prince demoted to rb4 it's Carson steel who's like a big fullback looking guy did not look right and to me Carson steel didn't so I think CH is still the most likely answer at Chiefs rb2 probably save the Steph digs Nico Collins stuff for a wide receiver ranking show um but got more confidence in Steph digs there Andre yosias he sat with the Bengals starters uh Jermaine Burton made another play in this one but he's clearly behind Andre yosias because he didn't play in that game brayan Allen this is something to keep an eye on he played behind Isaiah Davis yeah on early Downs in this one this was kind of odd the ability to diagnose snap counts art science whatever it is I am unmoved by BR behind Isaiah Davis I think what we saw in preseason week one what we've heard all through training camp that bril Allen is the backup to Bree Hall to me that is just going to happen if something happens to Bree Hall it's going to be BR and Allen yep at least on the early Downs um but that's kind of all you want in that situation so yeah those are those are my last notes uh Big Show the rest of the week and with the the sleepers or the Yahoo cheat codes those type of guys yeah way to pitch it okay the rest the rest of the week we'll cut that out tomorrow Hayden will have his landm in every single round of your draft time to get Negative least favorite pick I'll put mine out maybe on Saturday or Sunday of this week too yeah make sure to hide it so people don't yell at you when you're wrong so we get a double dose of that and again Wednesday Thursday Friday cheap code videos depending on your platform so if you're drafting this week you got a lock in to the channel and by the way you always leave comments since I talked about my least favorite movies and films of all time leave yours in the comments that's how we know if you made it 90 minutes on the show Alexander Miami Vice are my least favorites how about you guys name a movie that I that you think I've watched how about that for for a game it's not many of them let's not put too many assignments or else they won't join the 39% that have actually subscribed to this Channel all right shout producer weaves shout out to Hayden shout out to all of you up the Villa we'll talk to you soon see you [Music]
