Farm in Palo Alto home to the Stanford Cardinal and the legend such as lway luck and mcaffrey all of whom went through battles like the one we'll see in this one there's just something about the night cap after a day of wall toall football it just seems this is when chaos ensues as we see a squad from the Big 12 the TCU horn frogs taking on a team from the ACC the Stanford Cardinal for EA Sports College football ree Davis with you alongside David poock and Jesse Palmer and guys can't wait to get this one started Stanford about to Tee It Up to get this one going here he comes from inside his own five he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic but they get him on the ground at the 20 so the TCU horn frogs offense will take the first swing of the game and Here Comes This quarterback this entire offense is built around him he is the engine of the entire team I mean he's the leader he's the alpha everybody looks towards him he's been doing it all year long everybody believes in this young man big opportunity big stage and maybe they want to try somewhere else because there is nothing doing in the middle of this defense how about the defender being a heat seeking missile he was on radar lock he found the football and flew down with some bad [Applause] intentions now they'll try the right side found a little bit of Running Room knocked down at the 24 after a pickup of four just a simple power play again not sexy run the ball up the middle physicality offensive line gets to assert themselves run block what they love to do this pace dividends down the road in the fourth quarter and the horn frogs in the hurry up third and long and he'll try to throw for it going downfield for the big Play It's incomplete But Here Comes the flag and I think it's going to be a first [Applause] down and the defender just way too handsy on that last play you could see all the contact as the ball was in the air you simply can't do it referee's call the give to the back he is going nowhere stop at the line of scrimmage well this is a defense that we know takes tons of Pride stopping the Run that's where it all starts and ends with them and you saw a great effort on that last play got stuffed on first down it's second and 10 [Applause] quarterback on the keeper oh he's so hard to get on the ground he's got room and he's brought down after a nice game this defense has to know that QB Zone read is a big part of how they're going to be attacked these linebackers they've got to switch and get into position to replace these crashing defensive ends because this is a quarterback that can get up the field quickly like he did on that last play the horn frogs will snap it on First and 10 looking for space it's cook at the 35 he's open and they'll finally catch up to him but not before a big chunk of yardage is picked up I think it's really important for this offense they get this guy going early in the game and they're doing a nice job of that right now remember he's the kind of running back who gets better as the game goes on that's a really good omen for this offense considering his success now early they'll give it to him again he's all the way down to the three an electric run has him set up I'm Amazed by this offense this is how you set the tone for a game running throwing on the opening drive driving right down the field you've just run to set yourself up now and first and goal they are feeling this defense might be reeling after those last two and now facing first and goal he'll try to get it in with the run and he takes it to the house touchdown TCU and re no secret about it line up in goal line formation I'm going to run the ball down your throat my guys are more physical than you six points on the play now they'll line up for what they hope is [Applause] automatic and the pat makes it 7 nothing an impressive 66 yd touchdown drive and Clos to deal with a three- yd touchdown run kickoff team is on the field they'll try to drive this one deep he'll start the return inside his five just never had a chance to shake loose and he'll be brought down at the 24 the Cardinal offense will get its first chance now as we take a look at our impact players for this game David what do you look for to make an impact from your leaders your leaders not only have to lead the football team but they got to step up up and make plays on the field keep everybody calm these guys typically do a really good job of it yeah David and they also generally set the tone for their respective football teams regardless of which side of the ball they play on the teammates look towards them to step up in big games like this eight- yd pickup on first down leaves him with second and [Applause] short they'll run it from the done nice move to keep moving they make the stop but this running game moves to change as they get the first down you know they Pride themselves on being physical at the point of attack dominating at the line of scrimmage nice job there picking up the first down see if they can turn this drive into points they've got it first and 10 at the 50 give to the running back they'll pick up four second and Six coming that's a really nice play it's impressive when it's first down and the defense thinks you might be running the football you still can line up you can get some movement at the point of attack and find a little crease for your running back after the productive first down play it's second and six now the play fake going for it all and good coverage and better Hands by the defender to knock it down in the end zone DB does an outstanding job here on the Deep pass locating the football no Pi able to swat it away pass incomplete couldn't find his man last time and that leaves him with a third and six back to pass it's Daniels trying to get to him didn't have anything working and just had to throw it away on third down [Applause] Stanford lines up to punt it away first punt of the day and he' love to lock him up close to their goal line no opportunity to run it back as the ball goes out of bounds TCU has it back in the horn frogs go on offense if you like oldfashioned grind it up run over him football that last touchdown Drive was for you Jesse that was impressive man great blocking up front and tough physical running by these ball carriers they and now you wonder how the defense responds like are they going to get way more aggressive to try to stop the run I got to do something to break the rhythm of that running game they'll try the run really nice stop there from this senior leader I'll tell you this is a running back who's very very dangerous defense did a good job getting them down there but they got to do a great job gain tackling because this is a guy that can break tackles and turn those types of plays into home runs kept it on the ground on first down now back to the line running back searching for a hole maybe picked up a couple as he gets it to the 14 not exactly the ideal situation for this offense third and long backed up inside their 20 looking to throw and he needs a bunch just had to get rid of that one to save the yardage on third down that's why it's so important for this defense to win first and second down you set up third and Longs like that you can show your exotic looks you can get the pass rush going everybody in the back end EXP throw and that's how you force incompletions and Force fourth BS and the horn frogs will send out the punt [Applause] unit good job by the coverage unit to put a stop to that return the Stanford offense making its way back onto the field they hope to be able to cash in on this drive David after having to punt it last time yeah and I think this offense needs to start it with the first play you need to be successful and produc on that first play and it gets you in less predictable situations no doubt to and don't you just feel like there's a little bit more sense of urgency on this drive it just feels like they've got to be able to put some points up on the board here all right now let's get both teams wanted to establish the run and they have done exactly that in the first quarter and they've swapped into the field and we'll get it going in the [Applause] second looks as if he's going to run it oh it's on the ground High fall defense coming up with a huge fumble recovery and he's brought down and this defense gets the ball back for its own man it was just the impact of the hit that dislodged the football from the ball carry there was a heat seeking missile coming in there and he knocked that thing loose TCU will send its offense back onto the field they had to punt it away on their last possession but man what great field position this time I mean this is awesome like last possession didn't go great now you're set up in an opportunity to get some points start thinking about what plays I like Jesse as I cross the 50 there are a lot of offensive coordinators out there David and in this position they like to take a shot right away and try and capitalize on this field position the horn frogs moving quickly to the line to the air it's Hoover fires to the big fella how about this backer in pass coverage and bringing the big hit stick with him too it's so important that this offense is able to stay on schedule and what that means is keeping third Downs manageable that last completion to the tight end accomplished just that really nice play call passing game very effective on second down what about here on third they'll try to get the first through the air I don't think that's the way they drew it up incomplete third and short in college football today you see so much more pass than you used to the offense stays aggressive and I think they stay aggressive because they know they're in field goal range they got that three in the back pocket and they'll send out the kicker to try a field goal and he's going to have to get into this football this is a 53 yd [Applause] attempt it is true as he puts three on the board and that will extend their lead even further well sudden change situation you got to give this defense credit their offense just turned it over they held tight they didn't allow a touchdown and they forced their opponent to kick a field goal nice job they'll kick it away after putting up a field goal on that last drive and he passes on the Touchback here he comes not nearly as much as he' hoped when he brought it out of the end zone he'll be stopped at the [Applause] 15 out of the gun the inside G and he's almost to that first down marker there saying he's a little bit short they might want to bring out the sticks and measure but it looks as if he'll be just short of the first down line getting set on second down out of the gun the inside hand off looking for a crease they knock him down but he gets enough to give Stanford a first down they needed only one yard good job by the offensive line getting just enough push to keep this drive alive they'll snap it from the 26 on first down leaves it with the back at the 40 there he goes they got him free for a big Gainer to the 43 I love that play call this offense is going to run the football they're not just going to do it between the tackles but they're going to attack you outside you saw that with that handoff they get to the right they get him in space using his speed good play call finally this offense starting to show a little juice they've got a first and 10 the give to the tail back keeps the legs moving and he fights his way forward gets away from one but not much doing on that one great job by the defense everybody firing off the ball hitting their guys holding their gaps running to the football nowhere to go they got nothing on the last play it's second and 10 back to throw it's Daniels fires left got his man down field and chunk plays are the name of the game and they get one here before the defense finally makes the stop that's what's so scary about this offense they've got guys in the perimeter that can change the game in one single play and you saw it right there too much speed on the perimeter to create that explosive play Stanford going back to work with another first down they're threatening to score and they'll throw it get enough rush and it pays off the sack at the 20 often times with play action you're asking the quarterback to hold on to the ball a bit longer and you're asking this offensive line to hold up and pass Pro a bit longer against this athletic front seven on defense it's going to be tough that sack gets this offense behind the chains it's second down the give to the back and the defense drags him down really nice play call there on second and long by the offensive coordinator he was able to get a lot of that yardage back by running the football and now of course it sets up a third and manageable situation the terrain gets rough this deep in the Red Zone third down they can pick up the first without scoring they'll try to get it through the air those two failed to make the connection it's an incomplete pass got to give the defense credit on that play taking everything away forcing the incompletion now it's decision time fourth and short in your INF field goal range what do you do here it's fourth down now and this likely the final snap before the two-minute warning try to get it on the ground how about that defense rising up and stopping him short on fourth down first down here with time for maybe one more play until the two-minute warning looking for room it's cook he's there to make the stop as we reach the two-minute warning they'll need to try to get a stop to keep this thing from getting out of hand well they want to come out and try to get the Run game established but up front defensively they made a play they gave up nothing on that one got to find some breathing room if you're going to establish yourself on the ground and there wasn't any that time yeah ree I wonder offense is maybe going to try to get to the perimeter of the field and see if they can use their speed to hurt this defense we've got a timeout here late in the first half and they'll trying to get more points on the board before the break they line up with some serious work to do if they want to convert this one looking downfield it's Hoover he losts one down the sideline and they can't hook up on the big play and that brings up a fourth down third and long situations are really hard to convert the defense knows it's going to be pass the pass rushers are getting up field you're under pressure you don't have timing and as a result now fourth down and the horn frogs will punt this one away this will be the second time they've had to kick it away he'll call for the fair catch here Stanford has it back the Cardinal offense returning to the field getting late here in the first half they'll have a chance to make this a one possession game and the offensive play caller here has to really be dialed in it's important down two possessions dve that they're able to score some points you got to call your best stuff in this two-minute situation and and such a good opportunity to cut into a one- score game create that momentum get some good juices going for the second half because obviously you know you built yourself a little bit of a deficit you need some good things to happen and it needs to happen on this possession they'll throw it on first down quickly out to the tight end and he laid the lumber to stop him from getting the first down I'll say this and in college football you see a lot of bad tackling you didn't see it right there that was an awesome job first off being there at the point of attack once the tight end made the catch there was no doubt he was going down great job form tackle he wants to pass it on second down makes the grab on the left he's there to make the stop but the damage has been done as they pick up the first down on the throwing catch they built this offense around finding mismatches and just get the ball to the back let him do his thing yeah it it didn't have to be long down the field like it threw it right near the line of scrimmage but you know I got a guy when he gets in space he can make big plays happen nice decision by the QB got his man in the middle and he'll run it into the end zone touchdown Stanford and I tell you what that passing touchdown man that should spark this whole team like The Comeback is more than on now like they got the touchdown they cut into the lead you want to get a stop and go into the half get all the juices all the excitement and be like listen the passing game's rolling we got this the comeb back's in full [Music] effect lining up to add another and the Pat will draw them one point closer quick work on that scoring drive just four plays and they close the deal with a 16 yd throw for the touchdown the kickoff team out there set to boot it away he'll bring it back from inside his spot nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the 16 TCU has it back in the horn frogs go on offense find just tight end excellent job working through the air there finding a hole in that defense and picking up a first down the offense will stop the clock and use one of its timeouts now on first down from the [Applause] 28 looking downfield it's Hoover fires to the wide out excellent coverage and good use of the hands to knock it away defense were always trying to get some tips you know break on the football get a tip get it up in the air nice job by the player breaking on the football and forcing the incompletion they'll run this play from the pistol on second down he'll try to make the connection Fire's complete on the Crosser the offense waste no time getting the timeout call this offense is clicking and clearly everything is working the offensive coordinator is calling good plays the quarterback and his unit is executing and this defense right now they have no answers comes out throwing on first down got his man and a big gain there he's knocked down immediately at the 45 and that's a really good example of why offensive coordinators script plays you know the down in distance and you know which routes can get you to the stick so there's no waste of time that coordinator got the play in early to his quarterback knowing that his players were going to be able to execute the horn frogs will have it first and [Applause] 10 just had to get rid of that one good job to avoid the [Applause] loss ball's still at the 45 after the inet comption they'll snap it second and [Applause] 10 misfired on the last play they'll go back to the air and they can't make the connection and it could get worse a penalty flag on the field and it's in the holding Zone let's get the call that penalty moves the ball back 10 yds will replay the down time dwindling away as they try to put points on the board right before the half good job to avoid the negative play and just get rid of that [Applause] thing got quite a ways to go to keep this drive going it's third down from the 45 dropping back it's Hoover unloads to the wide out he can find his man the clock stop with 6 seconds left it's so nice when you know it's third and long you know a pass is coming you worked on it all week get your feet set at the sticks understand that quarterback's got to be rushed get him off of his spot nice execution by this defense and the horn frogs will call on their punt [Applause] Team all the way back to the 15 they'll knock him down and that'll take us to halftime we we played two quarters here time to go to Kevin Connors in our halftime update guys a stirring start to things today in p elto as we say hello from our broadcast Studios and it's been said football is a game of inches and guess what based on the comparison between third down conversion rate today and the average yard per play how can you argue that I mean the low-lying fruit is to look at some of the explosive plays we've seen in panic but really this game is going to come down to which team is more efficient when they have the ball and how they play when it matters most and with that let's send it back to the guys inside Stanford Stadium the horn frogs will kick it off to start the second [Applause] half and he takes this from inside the five he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic that they get him on the ground at the 20 the Stanford offense making its way back onto the field wasting no time throwing on this drive the short hands it's I Manor they make the stop after the catch and still some work to do to pick up that first down and I think this receiver's Forte is his route running he's a guy that can line up all over the field but it's not just catching post routes and goes this guy can run shallows he can run Slants he can run the option routes and find soft spots in the defense this guy really has all the routes in his toolbx really nice job there by both guys the throw and the catch to work that defense and get the first down big play in the passing game there and I like the receiver gearing down in the zone did a nice job finding the soft spot on defense between the Defenders giving the quarterback an easy target to throw to to complete that throw the offense lines up at the 41 with a first and 10 he's going to pass the quick out still running at the 40 and he'll ramble to the 34 before he's finally knocked down and a big key on that throw to the slot receiver guys is putting the ball out in front the location of the throw is what helped that guy get extra yards after the catch they'll snap it from the 34 on First and 10 here's the hand off able to SC three yards out of that one somehow it's second and seven you know it's so important for offens is to want to keep third Downs manageable the way you do that is by having success like that running the football on first down after the three y pick up they come to the line Second and seven looking to throw it's Daniels he finds his man good job running that route to get past the sticks because he got nothing after the catch Stanford gets set to snap it on first down get out of with a win used the play fake now to [Applause] throw touchdown gardo and with that they've got the lead here in the second half quarterback's abilities to read the field is huge and also the anticipation the time to be able to throw the football Jesse and hit a guy in stride so he can get run after the catch and get in the end zone that was a nice job by the quarterback yeah it's critical David listen a lot of times touchdown passes AR thrown into the end zone you got to read the coverage hit the open guy and let him do the [Music] rest P unit on the [Applause] field and the extra point is good and it's a four-point lead so that scoring Drive took only six plays and the scoring play comes on a touchdown pass from 22 yds out the kickoff team out there getting set on the run from inside his zone five not a lot of space to be found good Hustle by the coverage team and they stop him at the 21 TCU will send its offense back onto the field they just didn't quite find the Rhythm on that last Drive Jesse they had to punt it I think they got to be more physical David I think up front they got to do a better job getting blocks and establishing this running game and how easy does football become if you're the more physical team if you can threaten the run and then then run play action it opens up the whole offense at your disposal and the horn frogs want to crank the tempo to throw it's Hoover getting some heat nowhere to go and the ball is loose it's as if that ball and a magnet going back to the offense how in the world did they keep it and those are so frustrating when you're a defense and you swarm to the football and you stick the quarterback and you make him cough it up just to have the other team recover it again and you don't get it still a good stick still a good physical play keep hitting that quarterback this defense has kept them backed up now one more stop and they can get off the field on Third and long he's looking downfield to throw he hurs one deep down the left side he's got it downfield for a huge gain and they pick up a better than 30 yard on that completion before the defense brings him [Applause] down after that huge play they'll try to finish him off with another one it's first and 10 from inside the 40 and you can give all the credit to the crowd for that one offense no chance and call for the false start the officials offer the deal and the coach accepts it they will take the penalty snap in the shotgun fires to the tight end and he'll step across the sidelines after making a good gain on that one it's important on offense to get the tight ends involved in the passing game these are Big Fellas that can run this guy's a big Target so nice job on that play moving quickly trying to Rattle the d off the play fake feeling some heat and and he'll Chuck it into the cheap seats there and save the down nobody getting open there they line up and it is a long way to the sticks from here he wants to throw it again they're trying to get to it and couldn't quite find the crevice he needed to pick up up the first down this is why third down is so difficult for quarterbacks because the defense substitutes they put faster guys on the field and they've got all of their different exotic looks they've been game planning all week for some things you haven't seen on film yet and it confuses your offensive line it confuses you and you're out here just trying to make plays trying to do something right to get a first down wasn't able to gain a lot there and the try is no good and guys still down by four still needing a touchdown to take the lead Stanford has it back the Cardinal offense returning to the field man what a drive last time for the touchdown that passing attack was Lethal David and you know you hear all these stupid commentators like me and Jesse talking about create balance you know run and pass no when you throw that good spin the ball around so the defense has to find a way to affect the quarterback on this drive because last drive he had way too much time to throw and here comes the offense on second [Applause] down looking for a man it's Daniels just a short pass to the tight end they make the stop but this passing game does some damage and they move the sticks with the first down ever since they invented the forward pass the tight ends have been running the drag and getting the first down I I think it's because the tight ends is so much versatility you know they can block and stay in the formation or they can release and come out but either way if the quarterback's patient most of the time that drag route's going to come open they'll go to the ground that play just never had a chance a knock him down for a loss of five maybe that stop is a good sign for this defense maybe the def starting to figure it out obviously offense has been running the football with so much success something has to change that was a good start ready to fire from the [Applause] pistol and you want to talk about his favorite receiver it might be everybody based on the number of guys getting touches and a chance to show off their hands in the passing game when you're dealing with a deficit like this it's all about somebody stepping up to make a play and you might as well start here in the fourth quarter they'll go right back to the Run they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one defense doing their job getting that last stop and now third in California not a lot of play calls to convert this so defensively let's get off the field now the clock's running we need to give it back to our offense with as much time as possible I'm not positive but that first down marker might be in the next County on Third and long he'll need to loosen up that arm that pressure got to him and he just had to Chuck it out of bounds defense has been looking so good on this drive so far they already set up third and long and now they take all the throws away down the field great job in coverage great job reading the QB's eyes so there's nowhere for him to go with it he's got to throw it away Stanford lines up to pun it away he's going to try to flip the field with this one not going to risk a return here he'll make the fair catch TCU has it back in the horn frogs go on offense he wants to start this drive with a pass L one deep down the right side throw to the sideline and it's complete and they've got a big play man if I'm a defense I got to find a way to get some more pressure on the quarterback or disrupt their timing and their Rhythm I can't give them these big chunk plays through the air I got to be maybe a little bit more aggressive or do something a little bit different the horn frogs want to pick up the [Applause] tempo looking to move it through the air part in the back field it's they get him down after he makes the catch and that's kind of a lot of today's running game right spit the ball out quick get it to your Playmakers in space get positive yards it's instead of running the ball a couple yards up the middle now you just spit it out wide and a lot of times if you break a few tackles it could be even bigger let's see what they've got on second down back to throw it's Hoover pressure is effective from the defense they knock him down just behind the Midfield stri at the 48 when it's a playaction pass that quarterback he really has to sell the fake he can't tell his offensive lineman's getting beat right away while he's selling the fake he had no shot this is a third and long looking down field and he needs a bunch he's got an open man and they make the stop just short of the line to gain inches to go it'll be fourth down well this offense has given a lesson right now in how to fight through adversity because first and second down was ugly but they come up with that huge completion to Now set up a manageable fourth down opportunity to keep this drive alive they'll stop him short just what they needed as they get the ball back for their offense looking for a productive play on first down used the play fake now to throw and they're on him in a heartbeating down he goes playaction pass success has a lot to do with selling that fake you could tell defense was not buying it got in the back field got the big play they'll try to put it in drive this time on second down from the 22 from the gun the G looking for room they bring him down but a solid pick up to put them in position to pick up a first down listen you you got to be able to know what play to call and what hole to go through like the line blocks for a certain hole good job getting through the hole getting what was blocked getting a nice positive game making your situation really good on the next down certain moments in the game you know we just a little bit bigger here's one of them big play coming on Third and long didn't have much of a choice just had to throw that one away it'll be fourth down and this is why you don't want to get in these situations third and long defense knows its pass they're playing pass playing deep QB has nowhere to go with the football so he just throws it away the Cardinal will have to boot it [Applause] away excellent coverage that time didn't give him any room to set up a big return TCU will send its offense back onto the field trying to start the drive with a pass fires into traffic intercepted he didn't get B him the return but man did he set his offense up at the 30 and that just kind of caps off this day it's been a day with not a lot of Rhythm not a lot of tining not a lot of guys on the same page and they weren't right there and the quarterback throws an INT and this one is not looking [Music] good on first first down here comes this offense they'll start this drive with a pass how about getting the foot down on that throw for the big completion and if it ain't broke don't fix it right this is what got this team in this position to win this game aggressive offense taking shots here we are in the fourth quarter they've got the lead Why Stop Now they've moved to the 16 it's first and 10 off the bootleg wants to toss it fires to The End Zone it falls incomplete he was trying to find his man for six oh you're living dangerously now you've got the lead late in the game don't do anything to turn it over and they almost did throwing it there if I'm the head coach now I'm thinking man let's just run the ball this offense has a second down play he want that clock to run [Applause] this offense thinks that they have enough left in the tank here to run the football and run all the time off the clock they got the lead late didn't get the first down on that last one but it's not going to surprise anybody if they turn around and hand it off again here not a lot of ground to cover and not much to defend a big third down in the Red [Applause] Zone looking to throw for it it's complete this is one of those unique situations in a game as a head coach you're trying to feel the momentum and what's your confidence in your quarterback because you've got fourth you're in field goal range but you've got the weapons to get one more completion and ice this thing so do you kick the field goal or do you go for it and now on fourth down they will put it on the shoulders of the kicker to save them with his foot just drives it between the uprights that's a huge kick right there because now the opponent has to score a touchdown here in the fourth quarter that put so much pressure on the opponent now nice job by the Special Teams going out and executing in a big [Music] move so after the made goal they'll kick it away and rely on their defense he'll bring it out from inside his own 10 able to find enough room to get it out across the 25 he's brought down at the 26 TCU has it back in the horn frogs go on offense fires to the big fella he will step out of bounds but not before the big pick up and a first down for this offense they pick up the first down on the drag route I know that seems like a simple route but it's actually a lot more complex than what it looks like because that route changes based on whether it's man or Zone if it's man coverage he's flying across the field if it's Zone he's got to sit down over the ball in a soft spot giving his quarterback a place to go with it nice job of those guys being on the same page there and he might be known for run pits but that was a sure and heavy tackle on the tight end you just get the feeling this defense is going to make it hard on them right they've got the lead it's late and they're going to try to tackle everybody in bounds offense is going to have to really work for this and be smart you got to attack the sidelines you got to throw first down you got to keep this thing moving vertically down the field oh goes right through his hands and he will think about that one for a while it'll be third down man this late in the game it's go time I got to have a score I'm not worried about downs I'm going through my two minute script we know what's coming we practiced this all week it's second down incomplete pass go to third down down we need to go for it on fourth down this offense just has to keep that high energy up and try to run these plays fast a beautifully placed ball to the outside and the tow drag for the big pickup and he'll get out of bounds it's a first down they're in plus territory and now threatening to get the score and the horn frogs come to the line with a new set of downs back to the air one more time snagged in the middle it's Richardson he's brought down solid pickup but a little bit short of the first down they immediately call timeout trying to preserve every second they can to try to rally here late the playaction fake throws to the wide out and you'd like to think this sophomore wouldn't make a habit of trying to force passes into double coverage like that one of the reasons this defense is so hard to move the football on they've got a safety back there who's just reading the QB's eyes and he's so athletic and so fast he's able to break passes up and right now it's like he's just toying with the quarterback he's inviting him to try and take some shots knowing that he's going to get there to disrupt the ball catch in the middle it's Williams they make the stop but not before they do their work up top and pick up a first down he might have expected to see this DB up in his receiver's kitchen instead nice little Zone and they pick up the first man offenses are getting so good reys at seeing the holes in the zone knowing you're in zone knowing where to sit down how to make it an easy pitch and catch for the quarterback and that's what it was on Third and short they're working that left side they make the stop at the two but he's got enough to give them a first and goal and there was no question in that scenario that's where the quarterback was going he knew he had his receiver in a matchup that he liked running a route where he would find himself open nice job between those two to the air it's Hoover lets it Fly throw to the end zone picked off the 50 the 40 the 20 he's at the 10 and he's going to take it all the way touchdown Stanford man what a play by this defense you're trying to get the ball back to your offense trying to Salt this game away get the win not only do you create the turnover you get the touchdown now you take a two-c scored lead late in this ball game this defense just stepped up in a big [Music] [Applause] moment lining up to tack one more onto that lead [Applause] and the extra point is true and they have a two touchdown lead up 14 in the fourth they'll kick it off and send that defense right back out there to try to score again after the pick six on the move from inside is five nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop stop him at the 16 TCU will send its offense back onto the field looking to go up top on first down it's caught down field quick timeout called by the offense after the play trying to preserve every minute possible I don't think the pressure is going to get to these guys this is when it's fun late in the game down one score got to have it right now and the defense is playing with a sense of urgency right now obviously they're playing with the lead they know this offense needs to find a way to generate points expecting a shot on that last play so nice job in coverage after misfiring it's second down looking to throw it's Hoover and it'll be incomplete this defense is physical and pass deep this defense has a lot of speed especially in the secondary and you saw that speed that Defender got to that receiver so quick and because of the hit incomplete pass being started out great on this drive but then couple of incompletions and now it's third and 10 from the gun wants to pass it's caught creates a little room chopping up this defense and they've got it all the way down to the 23 well how about the offense setting that play up we've seen earlier in the game a couple shorter throws but just trying to suck those safeties closer to the line of scrimmage anticipating that they would get an opportunity to take a shot they called the perfect play at the perfect time right [Applause] there every second is Meaningful and they save a few of them with the spike second down coming up he's looking to throw makes the catch into the end zone touchdown horn frog if we had any chance to make this happen we had to score with a little bit of time on the clock now we need a miracle now now we need to kick the onside get an onside kick and somehow someway make a big play how about this these guys are going for two wants to throw it's Hoover he's in there for the two-point conversion and now they're just down six so that scoring Drive took only six plays and they finish it off with a touchdown toss from the 23 the clock reads 19 seconds onside kick coming they have to get it to have a chance to win they' hope to get that thing bouncing around but the hands team is able to Corral it so with the late lead they're ready to just drain the clock in Victory formation and they'll take a knee for
