ball great yeah the tradition and the history but right here right now there's great intensity this is why these guys came to these schools to playing games like this we'll see the number nine team of the land the florid Gators they on the third ranked team the Miami Hurricane 3A sports college football I'm Chris fer here in the booth with Kirk herb Street I think we've talked long enough Kirk let's get this game [Applause] going the Hurricanes will kick it away to get this game [Applause] going fielded In The End Zone it's Hawkins they'll be tackled at the 18 that's good coverage [Applause] [Applause] there listen to the crowd energy here in the early going this is a tough tough environment for visitors looking to throw it on first down makes a quick catch Runner Scoops out of bounds after gaining decent yards one thing I love about this B is how he gets involved in the passing game nice catch here house complete it's second down [Applause] now out of the shotgun he hands it off the junior able to bring him down quickly G looking to crank up the tempo a [Applause] bit can he make it to the marker and he's brought down but that strong stiff arm earned him the first down boy an opportunity missed here by this defense they get him the third down they load up the line of scrimmage but they could not deny this back of coming up with that conversion the gator starting a new series here on First and 10 off the play fake looking to throw he's moving out of the pocket and a short pitch and catch to the tight end he bring him down but he makes the 40 yd line that's a solid Game Boy great recognition here by the quarterback recognizing zone defense initially didn't have anybody open but I love he's able to show that he's got enough athletic ability to get outside of the pocket and be able to make that nice throw for a big first down quarterback s with the football got the first down now looking for more tackled but only after picking up a fresh set of downs just outstanding execution here by the quarterback and being patient in the option game and eventually picking up the first down and showing what he can do with his legs something that the gator love to do is incorporate that option game just to keep that defense honest Got Run come here going to see a time these teams played it got ugly Chris that's one of those games you just hate to see in a rivalry game when it get so one-sided hoping today to see this defense play much better you sweet dream just peace and joy her heart father I pray that you cover father recover pray that you bless them bless all of our family and our friends thank you I continue to ask your favor um grace and mercy in God's name and pray amen after the catch the defense all over in that time man the defense was all over that play just left him almost no room to walk after catching the ball seventh point of the opening drive they've moved it and now face a third down dropping back they going to throw for the first down looking for his big tight end passes incomplete the defense affecting the quarterback with pressure there so their first drive of the game they're going to go for it on fourth down aggressive start dropping back it's lagway quarterback looking to scramble slides down to avoid the tackle well they did a good job of getting pressure on the quarterback but man make the play bring him down instead they give up posi yards here on the scramble it's early but this crowd is fired up listen to this noise here this is going to be tough breaks into the clear it's a Sprint and he'll make it in for the score touchdown Gators you talk about the right way to get a game started this offense put together a nice scheme they felt comfortable with the script and they move the ball all the way down the field 10 plays and they get a touchdown you're the defensive coordinator you're back to the drawing board trying to figure this out now the kickoff team is out on the field bringing it out it's Joseph he stopped at the 20 I to make something happen but that's good coverage there first down play call how aggressive will it be what out the ground game here with the running back Breaking Free at the 35 tackle made after a big game there's nothing more that helps an offense than committing to that running game and popping an explosive run like this on the ground keeps the confidence of your offensive lineup same with your back it helps everything else that you're doing as an offense in your Rhythm now you can come back with some counters try to take some shots off of play action and keep hammering away with that run game second what's the play call here on second down for this offense play action fake looking to throw and it's incomplete a very quick throw well K played in rivalry games no shortage of inspiration but how do you manage the emotion of it all well I think you need great leadership from the team sometimes teams don't handle the emotions of it and the game can get sideways on you the teams that play the best in rivalry games are the teams that have the best leaders to keep them focused on the task at hand drops back looking to throw for it on third down he's going to P it down and run quarterback gets down to avoid the tackle Chris watch him work through his progressions here finds the first and the second option aren't there by the third option he's got to pull it down and try to pick up some positive yards in which he did and then he slides down to avoid the big hit from the shotgun now here's a hand off inside when you can get good chunks of yardage like this on early Downs it just keeps you on sched leading to more manageable third down situations never underestimate the value of consistently getting four more yards a pop like that off the play Fade looking to throw the football caught near the sideline it's Allen it's a good job here to be able to catch that ball but let's give credit to the defense for making that play offense set for the sixth play in this [Applause] drive quarterback appears to be changing the play Third Down play here out of the shotgun and he'll Loft this one deep to the left side hey the good news is here Chris they're still in field goal range and they didn't cost themselves any points but they could have more got to be thinking about going for this on Fourth and short re receiver in motion now fourth down he's throwing for it he's got it and enough for a first down tackle made at the 26 good enough for a first down I thought the defense did a pretty good job here on this fourth down but how about the quarterback throws an absolute laser to get that one in there for the first down the canes come to the line to start a fresh set of downs the shotgun handoff here tackle behind the line it's a loss of two Chris I think we all kind of get caught up in third down what what's an offense doing on third down but I think what's also important is how well do you defend first down if you can hold your opponents to a short gain or a tackle for a loss you throw the offense out of whack and their game plan gets much more challenging to try to come up with that first down oh they've got him for a sack a big play made by the junior boy how fortunate is the Florida defensive coordinator when you can rely on speed and quickness like this on the defensive line no need to Blitz you don't have to bring those linebackers when you have the tradition and speed and excellence in the defensive line like these Florida Gators have so a tough third and long on the 10th play of the [Applause] drive here's the snap looking to throw here running back grabs it on the screen the defense stops him short of the marker in that screen fourth down coming up Chris I love the versatility of this running back we're seeing what he can do on full display on this drive he's been running the football very well this time they get him the ball out of the back field catching it and he gets another positive gain [Applause] that's the end of the first quarter Florida 7 Miami [Applause] Z the offense will quickly spend a timeout here after the play time out Miami the cage will come to the line looking to keep the drive going on fourth down easy and he's throwing forward on fourth down should go quickly he's got it near the end zone he make the tackle but he easily gets first down yardage and the drive keeps going well the defense is in the right coverage here looked like they had exactly what they wanted to be able to come up with a stop here on fourth down but there's the timing between a quarterback and a receiver they knew exactly where they needed to go great timing and a first down they'll stop him behind the line for a loss of one well this defense is being challenged they're close to their own goal line but how about this play all 11 guys coming together they stood firm the result is a short loss for the offense nice job he Powers into the end zone touchdown hurricanes they slow the game down with a long grinding Drive touchdown that was impressive what's impressive to me is the consistency you know it's one thing to hit a receiver you score a big touchdown but to be able to go and sustain drives and keep the sticks moving a lot on the quarterback and the execution of the offense man did they make that look easy fielded In The End Zone it's Parkins solid coverage there they get him at the 15 that's what the offense will take over the G offense retakes the field the last possession was just old school Power Football let's see if they can keep that going here off the play fake on first down quarterback moving out of the pocket trying to create and he'll wisely throw that one away man I like this play I not only is it the right play throwing it away like that but giv that he had no other option he just did what he's supposed to do to survive and get ready for this next down offense lines up for a second down play off the incompletion [Applause] using his legs it's Daniels they tackle him out across the 20 just love watching his back run Gets behind that offensive line lowers his pads it's a nice solid game solid gain in the running play third down now dropping back it's lagway he's running out of time here the first making an impact play there nothing is more gratifying for a defense to be able to sit back in Play Zone and still get pressure on the quarterback with your defensive front and at Fourth Down they'll putt it away here the coverage te able to bring the returner to the ground here comes the Miami offense back out onto the field they really had the defense off balance in the last possession mixing the run and pass extremely well and he'll get the first down yards before they finally bring him down just a great play by the running back here finding his LS and then exploding through the Gap when it opened up they're moving the receiver now before the snap and in first down right back to the running game they try the middle but gain nothing on that play no that's an excellent effort here by this defense staying in their run fits they holding their own at the line and making the tackle the offense just couldn't get enough of a push to get anything going there playaction fake looking to throw got him for a sack a big play made by one of the senior leaders of this defense I like the call here but you can't run long developing play action passes like that if the offensive line is not going to give the quarterback time to throw defense are going to keep the pressure up on this third down and he drops back in the gun Let it Fly of the wide out he's got it for a big gain he's not going to get the first down it's fourth down now the Hurricanes will come to the line to run the hurry up receivers now getting some new assignments before the snap fourth down looking to throw for it just gets it away it's a deep ball intercept In The End Zone can he take it all the way not just the pick but a big return sets up the offense in good position Chris if you're going to make that throw that's called a two ball that means it's got to be on a line here he puts it way up in the air and allows the defender to come over and make the play on the ball great job by the defense they'll run it here running back has the ball they'll stop him behind the line for a loss of one well somebody talks about a play being blown up this is a great example of that that's exhibit a for how to be physical on [Applause] defense getting set here's second down scanning the field it's leg way it's a quick grab receiver brought down after a short pitch and catch well it's a game of matchups always has been and it always will be especially on the perimeter the back believes his guy is better than their guy that's the two-minute warning now here in the first half challenging play for the offense they face third and long here from their own 43 dropping back he going to throw for the first down going to try to use his legs here could not get there on the scramble short of the marker and now a fourth down decision coming up I just love the fact doesn't take a sack here in fact I'm sure he can imagine hearing his coach saying it's third down do not take a sack and in this case he's able to avoid the pressure and get out of there he doesn't quite get the first down but he does turn a possible it's picked off he tried to fire the ball into a tight window they get him down after a short return but the offensive to work on the 44 what a great job here by the safety to anticipate where the quarterback was going to go with the football that gave him time to be able to get over and break on the football in time for the interception and the Hurricane's offense retakes the field this offense trying to bounce back the last possession and then in a pick receiver makes the grab that's a big game before he goes out of bounds it'll move the sticks more than enough for a first down you know we talked this week with the offensive coordinator about what makes this receiver so special he kept referring to his route rning here's an example of that great route enough separation to give the quarterback a nice Lane to throw the football first down looking to throw the football and he's going to fling it deep going for it all here makes the grab in the end zone touchdown KES you put five wide receivers in your formation that put so much pressure on the defense do you have enough guys that can cover quarterback does such a good job of finding weakness and exploiting the extra point makes the lead 147 K up team is on the field let's see if they give the returner a chance to bring this one back he's going to bring this out a few yards Deep In The End Zone oh he's got some space here turns on the speed can they catch him can they catch him no touchdown we knew this returner was a dangerous guy that was an electrifying play all the way to the house Chris it was great blocking but the guy just so natural back there as far as once he got his hands on the ball it was like he was setting up his blocks knowing exactly where he wanted to go and then once he hit it right around Midfield nobody was catching he'll return it from inside the five and he stopped at the 19 good job by the coverage team and the Miami offense is back on the field they scored a touch Center of their last possession let's see if this defense can make adjustments and prevent that this time on First and 10 looking to throw caugh over the middle it's Joseph solid gain there moves the ball out with the 32 and the Kans will hustle to the line to run the hurry up offense on First and 10 they'll look to throw it it's a risky pass he gets away with it almost the second interception for this defense today pretty nice catch here but a missed opportunity for an interception let's face it a lot of these Defenders they've got it all speed athleticism but hands sometimes a little questionable as we saw here they'll change the pre-nap look now after the incompletion on first down we're going to throw it again and is intercepted and that's a solid return after the interception I'm going to give the defensive coordinator a tip of the cap here they went with dime coverage with six defensive backs which gives them a lot more speed on the field and with those defensive backs they're able to play better in space they recognize the ball step in front of it for a nice interception and the ball is handed off out of the shotgun he stopped but he gets a first down Chris what I love here is just The Vision by the running back showing great patience the hole opens up and then he's able to use his speed to pick up some good yards the gator looking to take advantage of this Red Zone trip on First and 10 here looking to throw the ball makes it across the goal line touchdown [Applause] Florida and they'll set up now for the extra point [Applause] Dy knock through the extra point the lead is s 14 that makes the score Florida 21 Miami so after the touchdown here's the kickoff and we'll see if the opposing offense has time to answer before halftime return starts from inside the five gets it to the 25 yd line that's where the start the drive andami and here comes the Miami offense back out onto the field they've got a choice here in the final minute that they get aggressive try to cut into this lead or play it safe and point toward the second half that one Falls incomplete good defensive play brings up second down Chris I thought he had his hands on that football I thought he was going to come down with it but give the defense all the credit with a big hit to knock that ball loose so after the incompletion it's second down that's the wide receiver coming in motion now he look to throw it here on second down wow a third pick tonight by the QB going the other way can they stop him not a great return but the important thing the pick wipes out a scoring threat they'll set the offense up at the 31 so here comes the first play of the drive can they do something in the final 30 seconds of the [Applause] half extending the play now and he'll step out of bounds after a solid gain on that run I love that this guy's not willing to just give up on plays you know he's got enough athletic ability to give you some positive yards in a run game and he's able to do that right here second down play coming up for this offense going to run it it's web they bring him down just short of the marker inches away from a first down now the offense will call a timeout here something they didn't like about what they saw there want to make an adjustment for this critical down so the offense takes the field in the final seconds of the half chance for just a couple more plays here's a shot toward the end zone and it's caught touchdown Gators touchdown so the offense clicking now KK building the lead and this one could get out of hand well it's just complete domination the offense is executing and doing their job putting points on the board the defense has shown up prepared ready to play it just feels like this game's getting sideways in a hurry with the extra point the lead is 14 so [Applause] gets off a squid kick it'll be fielded by one of the up men they get him down at the 39 yd line after an excellent return 10 just time enough for one more play in the half hand off here from the shotgun tackled up near Midfield at the 48 M's going to wrap up the first half here let's kick it down to Kevin Conor with time update [Applause] LA and here's the return from inside the five and the coverage scene gets the returner to the ground [Music] [Music] and the Hurricanes offense retakes the field as a designed quarterback [Applause] keeper defense makes the stop after a 5yd gain so second and five you expect big gets in an emotional game c and the quarterback that time paid a price well the quarterback's got to know in a rivalry game he better have his head on a swivel that time they hit him hard and they tried the middle but stuck for no game that back just had nowhere to go got to give credit to the defense and their run fits on that play urgency now for the offense that hate to come up empty on this drive down multiple scores here's the snap he's looking to throw it's a screen pass complete to the running back finding some room with the 25 out of bounds but not before a huge game offense gets a fresh set of downs that'll put him over 150 yards they he is putting on a show on this big stage how great is this on this stage as you mentioned Chris just playing his best game he's been in sync with his receivers back there has time to throw just having a dream performance offense getting set it's second Down K decides to keep it here has the first down and more he's brought down but a gain moves the ball across Midfield of the 41 man is this guy difficult to deal with or what when your quarterback can just say I am pulling this down and I taking off myself on the option he has that kind of speed as a defense all you can do is just say your prayers oh what a move to break into the clear finally brought down but it's an explosive game called all the way to the 21 how about setting the edge there on the right side of that offensive line wouldn't be surprised if they keep going back to the well pounding it behind that Right Guard and right tackle and tight end seeing what additional damage they can do tackle made after just a short gain not exactly the outcome this offense was hoping for here on the option they didn't lose any yards which is great I think they're definitely looking for more from that play the hurricanes are in the red zone back making adjustments now what the defense is [Applause] showing so early movement from the offense that'll push him back five pretty easy call for the head coach he will accept that penalty of course offense getting set up here's second down s here's the snap quarterback looking to throw trying to create outside the pocket now and they hit him just as he releases the ball it's incomplete well sometimes an answer for an offensive coordinator against a good pass rush is to move the launching Point move the quarterback from one spot to another to affect the rhythm of the pass rush that's not having any kind of impact at all on this defense they're getting after this quarterback no matter where he is they do a good job of it right here incomplete he was hit as he threw the ball that's a big third down defensive play hey it's an incompletion but it's a nice job by the quarterback I know it didn't pan out but the most important thing is he didn't turn the football over and he didn't take a sack it'll give your kicker a chance to put some points on the board if they opt for the field goal here on fourth down and it sails right through the middle of the up right solid kick so after the fal goal the kicker out there again to boot it away oh Chris it's a nice kick here to polish off that drive with at least three points up on the board and he'll be sto short of the 20 yd line good job by the coverage [Applause] team and the Florida offense is back out on the field now so of that first half lead is gone this game has gotten tighter there's some urgency now in this possession they'll run it out of the shotgun they'll tackle him about the 23 yd [Applause] line Second down after that run on the previous play using the ground game here tail back has the hand off solid run will bring the B at the 28 yd line the Gators hustle to the line to crank up the tempo try and muscle for the first down they'll stop him behind the line for a loss of one they don't block the defensive end who shows some quickness getting around the edge that time yeah this guy's usually getting around the edge to put pressure on the quarterback but he reminds everybody here that this guy's a complete package not only can he pressure the quarterback but also he is very very talented and shows you the physicality he has against the run as well trying for a fourth down completion looking a scramble On The Run he's going to Chuck it deep it's caught did he get a foot in yes they say it's a catch a big game that's a pretty good job here by the defense really on this fourth down they took away all his intended receivers he just checks that down as a last ditch effort give credit to the back for picking up that first down out of the shotgun he'll hand it off goes backwards losing three yards there that was that excellent linebacker with a clear path just run downhill quickly you know I think one of the great things about watching this guy play all year is his vision he just has great instincts that time the defensive line ate up all the lineman freed up the linebacker to get into the back field and the result is a tackle for a loss for the backer on the ground it's Daniels stops him but that's a solid game I think this defense keeps thinking about them throwing the football and by doing that opening up running Lanes good positive yards there by the running back offense been in Reverse here now a long way to go to convert this third down scanning the field it's lagway it's a wide receiver screen good execution gets a block and gets the first out well this offensive line you got to tip your cap they've done everything you would ask of them and taking care of this quarterback they do it again here on third down working with that lead you know the pressure is coming and they deliver from the shotgun it's a hand off defense gets him down but they'll take the gain on that play So down here in the Red Zone every yard tough to find here is a crucial play coming up The Backs got it that's a nice tackle there by the senior and here comes the noise this crowd is trying to inspire this defense to make a big red zone stop can he get there on the ground and'll be smarther right at the line from no game on [Applause] the third Florida 28 Miami 17 [Applause] and the Gators will come to the line looking to keep the drive going on fourth down didn't quite get the playoff in time it'll be delay of game and the head coach will de to accept the penalty and take the yardage so here we go we'll start the fourth quarter with a field goal attempt that one straight down the middle and that will extend their lead even further I was watching this guy in pregame he has got a strong leg not surprised here he's able to put three points up here for the offense and the fair catch signal for and take it [Music] and Miami offense is back on the field tough to win these games kicking field goals they know they need to reach the end zone this time grab down the middle it's Fletcher The Tackle him at the 38 solid gain nice play there hey it's a nice gain here and they get the first down to stop the clock but late in a game trailing by a couple scores these receivers have got to be thinking about getting out of bounds as often as they can to preserve that clock to give them a real shot to come back to Win It and looking to throw now on first down it's incomplete he was hit as he threw good pass rush there on first down that's a misfire there Chris this passing game has got to be able to get into syn and find a rhythm offense getting set second down play here and he's back to throw again after that incompletion on first down pass not complete but they don't make the completion here the timing seem to be off between a quarterback and receiver but this defensive coordinator he may want to consider getting more pressure on this quarterback by changing some things up he's got a lot of time back there to throw the ball and eventually it's going to cost you back to throw again incomplete for a third straight play well that's not what you want to see as an offense when you're trailing late in a football game an incompletion on third down and long it's a bit of a risk but with that clock looking the way it looks right now I think you got to go for here and hope to convert on Fourth and long the offense stays on the field down multiple possessions Easy Choice quarterback changing the play now at the [Applause] line needs a completion here on fourth down it's complete that's enough for a first down and a big game before he goes out of bounds the offense keeps churning gets a fresh set of downs just great execution here on this fourth down to keep this drive alive and what I love is the accuracy from the quarterback and a good job by the receiver knowing where that route needed to hold on a second the replay official has signaled that he wants to have another look at this play and that review confirms the ruling on the field was correct so the play will stand the canes pick up enough to get a first down there quarterback drops back probing the secondary and he's intercepted for the fourth time tonight and he's wrapped up after a solid return boy would this quarterback love to have this one back they're trying to work themselves back into this game here in the second half and the defense comes up with a big turnover that could be the nail in the coffin here comes a handoff The Tackle is made after a four yd gain so second and six well this is where the offensive line can really assert their will and put on the finishing touches to this game the defense you can see them they're breaking little by little right now you make sure they break completely they bring him down but a big chunk of yardage on the play that's going to be a first down and and really Chris kind of surprised here in the fourth quarter not to see this defense dial up some pressure they're just sitting back in the base making it relatively easy for the offense to Pi up first down in the ground stopped short the marker after just a short game coming to the line on second down this is important they want to avoid a third and long great job by the running back is staying inbounds to continue to work that clock working here TouchDown for it still no answer for this offensive machine and momentum really building now this one could get out of hand here in a hurry and that's the last thing you want to do in a rivalry game not just lose the game but get in man you got to fight for 60 minutes and they're able to tack on the extra point getting set to kick the ball off now [Applause] Miami bringing it out it's Joseph solid job by the coverd team they bring him down at the 16 here comes the Miami offense back out on the field the possession ended in an interception let's see if they continue to trust this quarterback in the passing game quarterback takes off now looking to scramble slides to avoid the big hit the cage hustle to the line to run the hurry up looking to pass here on second Down Easy throw to a wide open receiver down field they bring it down to the 38 but that's good enough for a first down no hudle here for the offense we'll see if the defense stays in zone after that big play if they can change things up on this drive and get a little bit more aggressive and he's brought down offense going backwards with the sack well that takes the wind right out of your Sails this offense is trying to find a way to get back into this game and another pressure and a sack against their quarterback that sack makes it second down and forever running out of time in the pocket pressure coming and they've got him again and just like that you squeeze the life out of this offense that's another sack by this defense they have been in that backfield the entire game and a big reason why these guys are enjoying a lead fires it to the Wi out caught over the middle it's George finally brought down but the game moves it to the 44 the Hurricanes will have first and 10 here well this defense has played well with a let down there little too comfortable with this big lead at the moment maybe yeah and I what I love to see is this offense is not giving up this game has not gone the way they had hope but here they are taking a few swings late in this game this one ends up working out and now let's see if they can put another play or two together and get the points on the board and he floats this pass deep down the right side and he's got it touchdown for the U now the offense will go for a two-point [Applause] conversion they'll try the option play here and he converts the two-point try now at 13-point Game Boy that's why I love watching this guy play he can do so many different things and here they go with the option on the two-point conversion nice job of stretching the defense out he saw he could get underneath that defensive leverage did a good job of getting north and south and came away with the two [Applause] points the fora offense retakes the [Music] field use the running game to chew on this clock now the defense coordinator this week all week telling us about Gap Integrity not giving this running back is at all really sound defense on that play second down after that run on the previous [Applause] play looking to pass it's leg way quarterback leaves the pocket on the Move now and left with no option just has to throw it away man the defense took everything away from him what do you expect him to do he can't force the ball into traffic and potentially throw the interception does a good job of getting out of the pocket away from the pressure just throw the ball away see what happens on this next down on third down he drops to throw as he releases it and the pass ball is incomplete Chris I just don't know about this B I like the aggressive approach but at this point late in the game playing with the lead third down long if you run the ball you know work that clock think about the big picture now you're facing fourth down and long and I think you got to punt it away and hope the defense can secure a victory fair catch made at the 35 and the Hurricanes offense retakes the field let's see if he can keep that passing game going the last position very efficient and precise on the junior gets home making a sack there man it has been a rough night for this poor offensive line and it's only getting worse that's five sacks they've now given up so far in this game alone a sack sets up a second down and very long looking for the wi out he pulls in the catch T will finally made that's a very solid gain but not close to first down yardage yet coming drops back needing a third down completion here grab down the middle it's Joseph it's a huge gain the stop is finally made at the 41 yd line they'll hurry to the line here with the clock running look like QB is changing the play at the line here comes a first down pass attempt fires it to the wide out looks down field and finds a receiver who worked his way wide open and the canes come to the line in the hurry up first down looking to throw the ball Let's It Go quickly makes the catch down field stopped right there it's first and goal at the five the Hurricanes line up with a first and goal there's the snap quarterback setting up to throw catch Made In The End Zone touchdown Miami hold on now Chris we're under two minutes to go and these guys will not go away they hit this extra point they cover an onside kick you never know now the try for two it's an option look and they'll get him down that time but he's such a threat with those legs and the defense is aware of that this time eyes on his swivel good job of being aware that threat they kept him out of the goal line and prevent the two-point conversion it looks like the hands team are able to recover the [Applause] football so this one is tucked away time for victory formation looks like the offense will just take a knee here let's be honest all wins are not equal you go in there and
