[Music] welcome everyone to Tucson Arizona Arizona stadium with this red and blue crowd ready to Bear down with their wild cats maybe you need a little caffeine or maybe the sheer energy of this matchup will keep you wide awake as we know anything can happen when you kick off after dark as we'll see the Coyotes Taking on the 16th ranked team in the land the Arizona Wildcat for EA Sports college football I'm Reese Davis joined here in the booth by David pic and Jesse Palmer and guys let's get this thing started [Applause] Sona will kick off to get things [Applause] underway he'll bring it back from inside his five not a lot of space to be found good Hustle by the coverage team and they stop him at the 21 the coyotes offense will get the first possession of the game and here's the man they rally around and he has earn that type of respect David you dang right you earn it by doing it and he's done it at such a high level everyone believes in this young man in Palmer there's a reason why you're right David he's been in the big moments and he's won the big games this guy delivers when the game is on the line and the coyotes want to move quickly off the play fake on first down wants to throw can't quite make the connection there might have let him a little too much looks as if we have an injury on that last play and we'll take a break to check him out line getting set on second down to the ground with the back well man there's some big hitting going on in the trenches right now this defense they take a lot of pride in stopping the Run let's keep our eye on them throughout the course of the game to see if they can contain this running attack on third down he drops to throw and they got him for the sack defensive linemen live to get after the quarterback to get sacks to get by those big hog moles up front on the offensive line and say you taste dirt the coyotes decide to P it away kick wants to return turn it they make the stop on the return but there is laundry on the field let's get the call personal foul ring the kicker defense so the decision has been made and the coach will take the penalty so the offense keep this drive alive thanks to the roughing the punter penalty breaks the tackle just a svage stop by this sophomore after the three-y pick up they come to the line Second and [Applause] seven keeping it on the ground with the running back and they'll stop him after three minimal pickup ball spotted right at Midfield as they try to convert third and short now they'll run the draw they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one and the coyotes will line up to PL it away makes the catch and now looking for just a little bit of daylight they'll get down and put a stop to the return at about the 28 yd line so Arizona's offense has its first opportunity of the day here comes the offense on first down movement here from the tight end on the run it's Conley still running at the 40 open Runway ahead at the 20 he'll be stopped just short of the end zone but they'll have it first and goal I'm the offensive coordinator I finding more ways to get this guy the football I feel like he is just a home run waiting to happen we saw it in his last game when he had over a 100 rushing yards he's almost at the 100 yard Mark now on first and goal let's see what Arizona does trying to Surge it in and he takes it in for the score touchdown wild cats did not take long to get into the end zone now and see if this gets this offense to hit overdrive yeah we may have a situation here we might have points more points and more points you keep putting Drives together like that that quickly chewing up that much yardage defenses are going to have to get something they it out he'll try to tack on one more extra point and with the extra point they got the first seven of the game they wasted no time on that drive two plays touchdown just like that kickoff team has the ball teed up and they're about ready to go on the run from inside his own five he was looking for more Running Room but none to be found as he stopped at the 23 this drive opens up at the 23 yd line out of the gun the inside hand off to the running back picks his way and gets four out to the 27 the coyotes are in the hurry up looking to pass on second down and the pressure gets there and down he goes at the 18 and that is a great job by the defense containing and constricting the pocket there was nowhere for the QB to go and he did not have a lot of time he went down quick this defense has kept him backed up now one more stop and they can get off the field on Third and long getting some heat and here comes the pressure and there he goes down again what a great job by this defense setting the tone early in the first half they've been hitting the quarterback early and often make him feel uncomfortable make him feel that pressure keep getting him on the ground that's why theyve built the lead and the coyotes send out the punt unit three and out and not much choice but to get rid of the ball really good job by the coverage team to make the Stop and that's where they'll put it in play Arizona sending the offense onto the field David they'd love to do what they did last time and put this one in the end zone you ain't lying they did a great job the offense was clicking everything went well Palmer they executed and got the touchdown and they really were in a nice Rhythm as well I'd love to see that here on the next drive too just keep doing what you're doing everything seems to be working and you seem to have this defense on their heels the give on the inside makes his man miss and a nice run there before the defense finally makes the stop good spot after that seven yd pickup on first down it's second and three wide out in motion they'll try the Run running toward the tape he's brought down but not before they pick up the big first down and the Wildcats come to the line with a fresh set of downs they're going to ride this running back Mark it off as a 6yd gain down to the 6yd line going to work on second down in the red zone is still some ground to cover to pick up that first down they move the tight end all over he'll do it himself can't quite cross the plane to get the six but they'll have the first down so so close to cashing it in for this offense they'll dial up the run on first and goal and he takes it to the house touchdown wild cats one thing this team is shown early this year it does not take them long to find their footing they get off to fast starts that was critical for them winning their first game and you've seen it here in this one too they show up ready to go there's no sleep walking think you got to give this coaching staff a ton of credit putting their players in good positions to have success they'll try to attack one more on their score and the extra point makes it 14 nothing let's go to the studio now and check in with Kevin Connors Kevin what do you got he guys got a final score in a big top 25 matchup Tennessee managed to eek out the victory in a tighter than expected one and they'll be singing from the top of Rocky Top after this one no matter the final score always interesting to see ranked teams Collide and today was no different the agony and Ecstasy of college football fellas yeah how about that sounds as if they had a good ball game there Kevin thanks for the update takes a hand off it's Kev able to pick up a couple before he's dragged down at the 19 the coyotes moving quickly to the line [Music] coming on Third and long try to convert through the air grabbed over the middle it's Ken and how about that catch and run so dangerous this guy and this set of downs get started from the 33 first and 10 keeping it on the ground with the single back a seveny pick up it'll be second and three went to the running game on first down now here they come [Applause] again wide receiver coming across in motion try to get the edge with a quick touch pass and after the tackle that will bring us to the end of the first quarter that's the end of the quarter and Arizona has the lead here they largely dominated this first quarter as indicated by the stats now the challenge here they've taken a punch but they can't let it get out of hand as we start the second here's the snap itching to fire down field they'll run the screen turned it on in Midfield they finally get him stopped but what a good job by that front wall to set up the screen and create some lanes for their running back wide receiver now comes in motion great job too by the QB there holding the ball as long as possible allowing the pass rush to get up field and at the very last second getting it to his guy so that he can go get the first [Applause] down the back goes in motion on second down wants to throw blasted as he lets it go that pass is incomplete and they're probably fortunate that it wasn't knock free for a fumble he'll just keep slinging it he's got his man he'll come through on third down as he's got enough and they'll mark it at the 23 not the most productive half for this offense so far but finally starting to get it in gear first and 10 from the gun the running back has it discards a man they get him on the ground with this running game imposing its will 6yd gain down to the [Applause] 17 just feeds the running back got enough space and he's sprinting he'll take it all the way touchdown dingo number zero an impressive long methodical meticulous Drive ends in points they just matriculated the ball down the field didn't they re so impressive didn't see a lot of explosive plays but how about the execution running and throwing the football wow lining up for the Pat and after the extra point they've cut the lead in half down 147 lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown Drive looking for an alley from inside his own 10 nice job executing all of the assignments as they put a stop to that return at the 22 Arizona has it back the offense coming out to Bear Down getting that push a pick up of four out to the 26 solid pick up of four on first down it's second and six give to the back hits the spin cycle that run epitomizes a veteran Savvy senior who knows how to find Space looks as if the defense was a little too eager there got into the neutral zone and that'll be a 5yd penalty defense so the early contact for the defense and they'll move it up five yards takes a hand off it's Conley and they'll bring him down but not before he picks up the first down the Wildcat come to the line with a new set of downs out of the gun the inside K he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple let's see what they've got on second down to the air it's faf throws to the wide out and this is dropped incomplete pass he had a huge gain in his fingers and he couldn't hold on on third down he'll try to pick it up through the air excellent coverage and good use of the hands to knock it away the wild cats will have to send out the punt team first punt of the day and he love to lock him up close to their goal line and the Return Man couldn't get to it to make the catch and the ball will bounce out of bounds and the offense back on the field ready to dial up ball playes wide receiver shows motion off the play fake on first down to throw he's got it he's brought down but he went backwards after that completion not the way they had it drawn up and the coyotes in the hurry up wants to throw on second down he's got the back in the middle they make the stop but not before he takes a chunk out of what they need to move the [Music] sticks takes it from the gun on third down and the quarterback goes down at the 11 yd line on the well I think one of the biggest reasons why this team is finding themselves in a hole here in the first half is this has been a sack party they can't keep the defense off of their quarterback they haven't been able to get the ball deep down the field throwing it with the consistency they want because they can't keep their quarterback standing up straight the coyotes will bring the punt team onto the field makes a move he's brought down but a really solid effort to pick up every bit of yardage he could on theing the kicker defense the officials offer the deal and the coach accepts it they will take the penalty going up top on first down looking to scramble he'll pull it down and run he's finally stopped but a big play there with his feet as he moves those sticks here they come first and 10 from the 48 and you're seeing here the difficulties defenses have trying to contain this guy if you leave a lane open or you don't sack him right away you allow him to get outside the pocket he is going to take off and he is very difficult tackle in the open field he's got running back likeability out in space he's looking for an open man on second down and that pass picked off well the defense comes away with the pick there with their nickel Personnel I think moving forward if you're on offense when you see that Personnel on the field you want to run the ball against it cuz you got smaller guys out there or if you're going to throw think about quick screens outside when you have tight ends flexed on the perimeter bigger bodies blocking smaller [Music] guys Arizona sending the offense onto the field they'll have another opportunity to extend this lead after punting last time David and it's important to put that punt behind you it's it's over let it go get back to what you were doing that built this lead yeah and defense obviously they won a few Downs uh that last drive so we got to put them on their heels here maybe mix up a few Personnel groupings and try to show them some pictures they haven't seen yet really nice stop there from the senior leader third and short from the 44 and we might know if they plan to go for it on Fourth down by what they call here the offense showing motion from the tight end trying to get a read on the D they'll mark it down and that will be enough for an Arizona first down we reached the two-minute warning and we'll see if the offense can build on this lead before the break he'll come out throwing on first down and the Freshman will talk up a sack and how about the true fresh we've heard about this guy we heard he's got a chance to be really really good talking with coaches this week and he gets his first sack listen guys I'm a pass rusher everybody remembers their first sack a big play for the defense with the first down sack now Advantage d as the offense comes up on second down got his man downfield they bring him down but a solid pick up to put them in position to pick up a first down third back to throw it's faf got his man in the middle good job running that route to get past the sticks because he got nothing after the catch to the air on first down quickly complete and he goes out of bounds after a nice pick up on that one right on target with that last pass now it's second andm mediate caught over the middle it's Murphy stop is made at the 22 a 10yd pick up and a first down just outside the Red Zone back to the air one more time makes the catch and he will score touchdown Arizona the defense just lost track of him there's no other explanation I've got to assume they knew he was in an eligible position or it was just ridiculously good scheming on the offense r i mean just an unbelievable job of getting your guy wide open the at unit on the [Music] field and the extra point pushes the lead to 14 they took it 71 yds down the field and the scoring play comes on a touchdown pass from 22 yds out here he comes from inside his own five he was looking for some running room and not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 they'll start this drive from the 18 yd line they try to pop a run on the draw just searching and working for the Running Room as he gets it out to the 26 there's a timeout callone as this offense tries to find a way to draw a little closer feeling the heat as he lets it go nowhere close on that one as he got thrilled trying to deliver the football and now they face third down they'll try to pick up the first through the air tremendous awareness along the sideline and the ability to get the foot down for the big pick up trying to find his man on first down and he's all bottled up and now it's worse the ball's loose the defense all over that loose ball and now they're bringing it back first half coming to an end offensively try to put a drive together get back in this ball game the last thing you wanted to do was turn the football over dig yourself an even bigger hole not good execution on the [Music] offense Arizona has it back the offense coming out to Bear down this has been an impressive first half and Jesse did love nothing better than to attack another one on Fires into traffic intercepted going the other way and he's got room at the 20 touchdown now dingo a great return for the touchdown any return for a touchdown is a great one to a defense with the defensive score just one moment and all of a sudden the Fortune's turn you're in a position where you're about to give up points and now you flipped that around and you put points on the board perfectly executed what do you do in an interception first guy blocks the intended receiver everybody else starts to form a wall where the ball's going nice blocking nice interception nice return for the touchdown lining up to add another is on for the extra point and it's up and good as they draw Just a Touch closer so they got the touchdown now going to put it in the hands of their defense to finish off this half from inside his own 10 let's see what he gets couldn't find a way to create that broken field as he stopped at the 20 five Arizona sending the offense onto the field this possession will be a test after squandering that long drive throwing a pick six Jesse you're right reys well I think this is really dependent too on the leaders in this huddle right now to step up and help this offense get back on easier on this drive yeah and this defense is froing at the M they're excited they're jacked up they just made a big play they got all the momentum so they're ready to hunt got it in the middle it's Conley timeout called by the offense and now they just have one remaining in the half time dwindling away as they try to put points on the board right before the half comes out throwing on first down they're trying to get to it and he'll Chuck that one away and save the down nobody was able to get open just enough time for one final play in this half looking downfield it's faid fires toward the end zone and it's a touchdown it is also a play in which there is a flag on the field let's see what the call is so not even the pass interference could stop that play they'll decline the penalty and they have the touchdown climbing up to tack one more onto that [Music] lead and the extra point is good for a 28 14 lead at the end of the second quarter that means it's time to join Kevin in our halftime update guys time for everyone inside that Stadium to take a deep breath and digest what we just saw and it's been a clinic in fundamental defensive football both teams have been Relentless and ball Hawking refusing to give an inch this is the kind of slugfest that real football fans love crushing tackles and dudes fly fying into gaps and passing Lanes a testament to the discipline both of these teams have shown and with that let's send it back to the philas at Arizona stadium and the coyotes will kick it off to start the second half from inside his own 15 let's see how far he can get and he did a good job bobbing and weaving and finding a little bit of Running Room on that return Arizona has it back the offense coming out to Bear down if it's working why change it and that running game was working in the first half I imagine we'll see a lot more of it here in the third quarter and you just know the offensive line was telling their coordinator put this on us let us continue to go out there push these guys around we can put this game on our back and end this thing by running the ball and this is a manhood question for this defense like as a defensive lineman and you're pounding the rock pounding the rock like I got to physically rise to this challeng this defense has to play more inspired and More Physical in the second half Arizona runs out the punt T well this offense did a lot of good things there in the first half uh wouldn't surprise me if they pump this one away after that incompletion on third down they do have the lead I think you've got to put some trust in your defense here do not give up any points and get you the ball back here comes the offense onto the field again wide out in motion quarterback Quick Pass to the receiver and he's a real Nowhere Man tackled in this no game land the coyotes come to the line in the hurry up on second down looking again to throw he's got his man they stop him almost immediately short gain there and still a little ground cover pick up the [Music] first from the gun he'll try to throw for it on third down and the inmp complete pass will bring up fourth down and the coyotes will try to pin them back with the punt they'll get down and put a stop to the return at about the 28 yd line Arizona sending the offense onto the field here's another opportunity Jesse to stretch out this lead after punting last time I think it goes back to your Playmakers reys I think it's finding the guys that have been working for you earlier on in this game and getting them the football yeah and there's obviously no need to panic I mean think about it you got the lead you got the football you got to be smart with the football make your plays put a good drive together here he's brought down but there's a flag on the field let's see which way that's going to go holding penalties the ultimate Drive killer we'll see if it cost this offense here back to pass it's faid looking deep makes the catch down the right side he's Off to the Races touchdown Arizona and once he found open space the band might as well start playing if this dude were a kitchen KNE he would be slicing tomatoes so thin your in-laws would never come back to your house well that'd be a good thing I don't know if I want my in-laws to come back anyways but he's been on fire he's been absolutely torture this defense they've had absolutely no answers for [Music] it they'll try to add another to their lead and they split the uprights on the extra point they're up 3514 and let's check in with Kevin Conor's in the studio Kevin two very different emotions inside the locker rooms of these teams who did battle today Ohio State looked dominant in a victory that was never really in question that offense had zero problem putting up points not unlike the days of stad and Fields and so many greates before them takes the easy throw in the flag it's one game you don't want to react too much either way but I think both teams will leave this one with some things to work on moving forward Kevin thanks a lot for that one sounds as if they had a good one there [Applause] got his man just what they were looking for to get this drive rolling they're out to the 35 man down on the play as the officials take a break to let him be checked out ball is at the 35 it's first and 10 it's reverse he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three the coyotes want about to crank the tempo it is so easy when you're a defensive player when you watch a little misdirection with the ball go one way to turn and to run that's not my job my job is to stay home defensive did a good job of that defense stayed home made the play third down in this offense is already in a world of trouble they could really use the conversion not to mention multiple scores and the incomplete pass will bring up fourth down and the coyotes will call on their punch team just a wall of Defenders everywhere he looks and he's guided out of bounds after a short return Arizona has it back the offense coming out to Bear Down the give to the back you want to make sure to maximize those types of runs and he gets it out to the 41 halfway there on first down it's second and five they'll go right back back to the Run nice solid form tackle from this sophomore third and short from the 44 and we might know if they plan to go for it on fourth down by what they call here to the ground to try to pick up the first and the Wildcat get it past the sticks first down 10 yds to [Music] go trying to surprise him with the pass he'll take a deep shot here he's got it down the right side touchdown Arizona and The Stomping has commenced yeah and that's simple but it's not easy it's a go route like that that receiver streaking straight down the outside of the field and my job as a quarterback is to put that ball up in the air keep it away from the safety he does just that receiver comes down with a catch nice pitch nice catch touchdown on to attempt the try kicker on for the extra point and the extra point will tack another one onto this lead quick work on that scoring drive just four plays and the final 53 yds coming courtesy of that touchdown pass and he takes this from inside the five nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the offense set on first down they'll run the RPO and throw it right stopped after making the catch they'll line up for a second down play up second down he's looking to throw he's got him in the flat makes the grab and it's enough for the first down before he's dragged to the ground fresh set of downs after the completion the 26 yd line looking to go up top on first down swings it out to his running back and that play just looked to be a mess from the snap and he's right out of bounds behind the line of scrimmage looking to throw on second down quickly complete he almost picked up the first down on that one but he'll be just a little bit short wow this offense is doing nothing they've already punted four times and staring at the possibility of a fifth tackled after picking up the first down the coyotes are moving quickly down the field the off they'll throw it on first down and the pressure gets to him down goes the quarterback this has been a rough night for this offensive man they have not Protected Their quarterback everything starts with the big guys up front that's their fifth sack given up of the game as they get set to snap it just about to reach the end of the [Music] quarter on second down looking to throw setting up the screen there to make the Stop and we played three in this one that's the end of the quarter and Arizona has the lead here well guys so far this has been a massive feat down and it would appear the biggest challenge is what kind of Records can they set as we have a look at the third quarter stats so will the beat down continue or is this a comeback for the ages in store we'll see as we start the fourth on Third and trying to have a big completion here and that one's incomplete they weren't just trying to move the chain they were trying to move the scoreboard instead it's fourth down he'll try to throw and pick up the first down gets it out quickly how about that defense rising up and stopping him short on fourth down first down here for the offense they'll leave it with him and that's a very productive first down play and bringing up second and three fast motion from the offense quick pass on the jet motion he is is going nowhere stop at the line of scrimmage trying to move the sticks on third down to throw It's faid Quickly out to the tight end he's out of bounds but not before picking up enough for the first down the wild cats come to the line with a fresh set of downs from the gun the ground game and a pickup of eight opens a world of opportunities on second and two when with the running game on first down now back at it defense way too anxious there and they just hand them a first down with a penalty the encroachment penalty on the D gives the offense a free five yards little touch pass to the reer they'll get him stopped just short of the end zone but they're in business here with a first down defense going all in to stop the run defense a little too jumpy there and they got into the neutral zone too soon neutral defense the offense needed something just anything to give them just a little breathing room and the defense provided it with that penalty touch pass on the Jet Sweep touchdown Wildcats and the rout is on points points and more points this offense has had their way they just keep their foot on the gas keep putting up points keep putting up touchdowns and you know what this is one of those stats days you look back and you're like that guy had 12 touchdowns on the well four or five of them might have been in this game ling up to attack one more onto that lead the kick is up and good and put one more on the lead about to kick it off after punching it in for the touchdown coyes he'll start the return inside his five didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 okay so here comes the offense returning to the field they're going to throw it to to start the drive got his man on the outside makes the tackle at the 32 but they were backed up inside their 20 and they pick up 15 with a first down they'll snap it from the 32 he's going to pass grabbed in the middle it's Beal didn't pick up a lot there moved it Forward just a few short completion last play Let's see if they throw it again second down on second down he's looking down field he makes the connection to the 43 yd line and a first down for this off 43 yd they're going to throw it again he's got his man and they finally haul him down but not before the good catch and run maybe this will breathe a little life into this offense which has been flatlined in the second half here's first and 10 looking down the middle HS it in and they reacted well to the completion but it was too late to keep them from getting the first down that's a first down for the off coming out on first down with the play fake he'll pull it down this senior quarterback never afraid to run it when he has to pick up a first down looks as if we have an injury on that last play and we'll take a break to check him out down to the 18 yd line it's first and 10 they'll go to the ground just trying to power it ahead they pick up five ball spotted at to 12 going to work in the Red Zone they can't pick up the first down without getting it into the end zone and they can't connect but the flag flies and I think this is going to be pass interference interfer defense Defender gets a little too aggressive there and this offense gets some free yardage motion from the offense trying to barge their way in he's got it down to the one yd line right on the doorstep of per we hit the two-minute warning and this offense is desperate to make something happen and do it in a hurry on second down they'll take to the air got it and a good job of coverage by that defense just a short pick up this is a money play on Third and goal and he crosses the goal line and gets the touchdown but way too little way too late but they still do count it for six with that last touchdown now they're trying to create some momentum they're trying to avoid starting the season 0 and one they know they've got a lot of work to do here in the second half but you should be feeling pretty good about that last score now you've got to keep that up ready to try the point after is on for the extra point smashes it through for the P we check in with Kevin Connors what's going on Kevin all right guys want to update you on a game that went final moments ago Notre Dame took care of business and left little doubt in doing so kind of felt like how that 2012 Irish team led by mantio would just take the will of opposing teams impressive to watch 60 Minutes of football and a convincing outcome and certainly a game with implications far beyond just the standings fellas and Kevin Conor is keeping an eye on everything all over the country sounds like they had a good one there and you see so many of these plays now in today's football wide receiver coming in motion and the quarterback catches it just flips it forward that's a completed pass uh you see the big plays where it just lets him get on the The Edge really really quickly and if he drops the football coming in motion it's just an incomplete pass so these plays are getting big plays with really no risk they'll keep it on the ground the clock is on their side and how about the efficiency on that one it'll bring up second and four going to work in the Red Zone they can pick up the first down without getting it into the end zone hands It Off he'll be brought down at the 5 yd line and this defense is on its heels third [Applause] coming well this one had all the suspense of a bug hurdling his way toward a windshield and they did splatter them an absolutely dominating performance you got to give the coaching staff a ton of credit they obviously had their guys ready to play and motivated right from the opening kick all three phases we saw just spectacular football no mental mistakes David you really can't play better than that n it's it's really fun to do this come out and just dominate opponents start from Finish nothing to worry about you just know you're better you're going to do you put up a bunch of
