Northwestern vs Duke EA Sports College Football 25 Gameplay

hi everyone and welcome check out this scene tremendous buzz in the building here today A lot of excitement around this college football matchup we got a tremendous match up for you tonight tailgating has been going on since the early morning and this place is lock and loaded as we'll see a team from the Big 10 the Northwestern Wildcats taking on a team from the ACC the Duke Blue Devils EA Sports college football I'm Chris Fowler joined here in the booth by Kirk her street Kirk let's get to the action on the field the Blue Devils will kick this away to get us going well he thought about coming out but instead takes a knee and the bring the foot to the 25 yd line so Northwestern will get the first crack on offense today and here comes one of the Elite running backs in all of college football when he gets the ball in his hands he just hold your breath time K he's been electrifying he sure is the embodiment of a superstar the Bonafide Runner with ill intentions for the defense this offense leans on him and there aren't very many times that he doesn't come true for it goes backwards losing three yards there after the first down loss it's second and long from the [Applause] 22 looks downfield connects with a wide open wide receiver that's good for a first down near the 40 offense right to the line playing the tempo now Chris with this style of RPO the quarterback has to do a really good job of staying on that ride with the running back to make sure that the defense is really up against the run before he can pull it out and throw the football here it's a little further downfield but the same result as far as the potential and it's intercepted deflected the line of scrimmage not a long return but the important thing that P wipes out of scorting threat the offense will take over in the 29 boy this is why I love this defense so much so opportunistic we've seen it all year and now we see it right here big interception they set their offense up in great field position here on their first [Music] [Applause] [Music] possession this line getting set up it's a first down play scanning the field it's Murphy defense is coming after him senior making a disruptive impact play nothing is more gratifying for a defense to be able to sit back and play zone and still get pressure on the quarterback with your defensive front see if the offense can overcome that sack second and long and now they run the draw play in the clear at the 25 they tackle looks like it's going to be just short of the marker in inches away and the Blue Devils looking to take advantage of this Red Zone trip and they'll give it to the back Jukes to get past the man and he runs it into the end zone touchdown blute Evers they they try to add the lead now in the pat Bo as a defensive coordinator you got to be careful being so worried about this pass game and this quarterback that you're a little bit locked up front and it cost you it's exactly what happened here as they score this touchdown and he'll leave the kickoff right there he start from the 25 out comes the Northwestern offense out of the field again we'll see if this quarterback can shake off the interception he threw in the last possession from the shotgun now here's a handoff inside they bring him down just short of the marker inches away from a first down less than a yard to go as they cover to the line on second down boy positive yards there on First and 10 good job up front by that offensive line good hard running by this running back and now you got a lot of options that play and the sophomore has got him for a sack they come to the line a long way to go for the first down but needing this crucial conversion right now TR to catch the defense with the draw the defense stops him short of the marker so it's Fourth Down coming up they bring the HS are onto the field [Applause] [Music] [Applause] now and the pun coverage team able to touch it so no return on the play well I thought the return team did a really good job of giving him some room to work with but I feel like the returner was so focused on making a big Play Down field and he forgot to take care of the football and it cost him brought down at the 33 that's good enough to move the sticks first and 10 play coming up scanning the field it's Murphy he'll take a deep shot here he grabs it inside the 20 four set of bounds after a big gain this offense set up for the first down just excellent execution here by the offense they've set themsel up nicely now into the Red Zone to see if they can come up with a touch down first down here for this [Applause] offense caught near the goal line and he will score touchdown Duke well that's a well oiled machine right there everyone on this offense has been a star in their rols when they're rolling like this results in quick and positive results planning up to try the extra point with the extra point the lead is 14 now they get set to kick it away so no return here he takes any KN in the end zone and they'll begin the drive at the 25 out comes the Northwestern offense onto the field last time was a quick three and out can they get a drive going this time there's the handoff bites off a Defender he's found some room with the well the big fellows curk flowing to the right there the defense just has no answer it's a huge game yeah and what a patience there by the running back just allowing those blocks to be set up there off to the right and then once he saw the crease in the defense accelerates through that hole to show you what kind of speed he has for oh and he's in the clear now it's a foot race they've got him at the four but a big gain of that catch and run a chance to get right back into this football game it's first down and goal down first and go they'll hand it off and brought down at the line by that big defensive tackle offense comes up to the line he might have a chance for a couple more plays before the quarter expires on second and go but hand it to him again defense will make the Stop and it will probably be final play of this opening quarter that has been in large part to the Lions on the ground game which has been featured from both sides but this one so F crucial play to begin the new court the offense sets up with a third and goal off play action he's looking to throw they got him defense comes up with a sack now that is stepping up by this defense and coming up with a great play now third and goal you come up with a sack backs against the wall they get his sack and now forcing him into a possible field goal and that's a win for the defense well they almost put a touchdown on the board but instead they come away with three points here's the return from inside the five mover team brings him down at the 26 Duke's offense heads back out out of the field now great possession last time they punch it into the end zone can the defense come up with a stop this time it's a short completion to the big tight end heads out of bounds after a solid game G more than enough to pick up a first down and that's for first [Applause] down first down and 10 now to the air it's Murphy and it's in complete he dropped the first down pass over the middle it was there Chris it was the right call it was good execution he just dropped it that receiver's got to do a better job of finishing the play tackled after a three yd gain so it sets up a third and seven not going to be easy here backed up a long way to go for a first down on the ground it's Mo defense stops him short of the marker so now it's Fourth Down coming up fourth down the Blue Devils will look to convert here on fourth [Applause] down fourth down looking to throw for it it's a quick grab finds room at the 30 he make the tackle but he easily gets first down yardage and the drive keeps going boy that conversion right there was an absolute Dart by the quarterback hitting his receiver and the ball comes out that fast to puts so much pressure on the defense and he will score touchdown Blue [Applause] [Music] Devils they're setting now to try the Pat the extra point is good and they stretch the lead a little bit more kickoff team is on the field let's see if they give the returner chance to bring this one back and he'll just take a KNE Drive will start at the 25 ydd line okay here comes the Northwestern offense back out on the field it's hard to win these games just kicking field goals they need to find the end zone here some urgency and the junior able to get home with the sack I can't believe the amount of pressure this defense is getting on this quarterback sack after sack well you got to think about changing things up the snap count the scheme anything at all to help this offensive line they're overmatched so far this game third down here time for perhaps one more play before the two-minute warning so he reachs the two-minute warning and this offense trying to get something going here and cut into this lead before halftime well a serious challenge for this offense you don't want to be in third and long inside your own 20 how much of a risk will they take to try to pick up this first down and now a time out quickly CAU by the defense as they try to get everybody on the same page here here comes the pter on field going to kick it away with the second [Applause] time and the coverage scene lets the ball roll dead so the Duke offense head back out onto the field the last Drive the passing game very effective moved him right down the field and the defense make adjustments solid run they'll bring the B at the 28 yd line a gain makes it second and medium looking to pass it's Murphy fires it to the Wi out and he pulls in the catch that's a big game before he goes out of bounds it'll move the sticks more than enough for a first down fresh set it out to the offense first down and the quarterback dropping back tries the right with a quick throw the pass is dropped incomplete would have had a huge game took his eye out the ball oh my gosh they go for the big play and a drop boy that hurts and it hurts their momentum and chance at a big play looking to pass here on second down looking for the wide out easy throw to a wide open receiver downfield they bring him down but an explosive play by this offense game the BL Rebels line up on First and 10 now here's the snap offense looking to throw the ball the pass is incomplete he dropped the firstand attempt here across the middle oh man you have a good play dialed up and a great chance at yards and it goes right through his hands that'll drive the offensive coordinator in the booth absolutely crazy INE the offense was moving well but two incompletion sets up a third and 10 dropping back we going to throw for the first down Let's It Fly of the wide out grab down the middle it's Moore into the end zone touchdown Duke this guy can do it all we've seen him go behind coverage and make plays down field we can see him catch the ball underneath just like this when he catches a football he is so dangerous after the catch this one leads him into the end zone for the six points norwester so it'll be a Touchback ball spotted at the 25 so the offense takes the field in the final seconds of the half chance for just a couple more [Applause] plays hand off in a single back formation tackled behind the line it's a loss of two this will likely be the last play of the half looking for some space it's quarter he'll be brought down and that will wrap up the first half of play m going to wrap up the first half here let's kick it now to Kevin Conor with our halftime update gentlemen you've had yourselves a superb broadcast so far today in Durham and we have to start this halftime breakdown by addressing the play of this Elite wide receiver this is clearly a young man who once he's finished playing on Saturdays he's going to be playing on Sundays the kid has different gears he has a knack for finding gaps in the defense defense and I can't remember a college player with that kind of catch radius he's tackled at the 21 that's for the drive start I don't know about you but I'm ready to watch this one unfold back to our guys in the whe first down play call coming up how impressive will it be they'll come out throwing here to start the drive tries to get to the running back with the catch it's more heads out of bounds as a short gain on the play second down after that previous play second from the gun he looks for an open man looks to the left for a quick throw and it's complete downfield breaks clear End Zone ahead touchdown blud Evers stretching the lead this one is getting ugly Chris the timing between the quarterback and the receiver here is exceptional great route here to sell that Coast to the inside and then break it off to the corner and the quarterback anticipates it well puts it on the money to that touchdown and they're able to tack on the extra point here's a kickoff team let's see if they give the returner an opportunity to bring this back he thought about returning it but instead takes a knee it'll be a Touchback we'll start at the 25 out comes the North Western offense out of the field again we out of the shotgun you'll hand it off that's a solid game moves the ball to the 29 hat on a hat up front good job opening up the holes anytime you can get positive yards on first down that's a win out the play fake he'll look to throw it he's going to be brought down by that ferocious pass rush nice sack well that takes the win right out of your Sails this offense is trying to find a way to get back into this game and another pressure and a sack against their quarterback can't hold on good defensive play brings up a fourth down and the punt team makes its way onto the field it's fourth [Music] [Applause] down this will be touchdown just inside the 40 blue Devil's offense heads back out on the field now and take the field with serious momentum they have been tough to stop so far can they keep it going and he finds his tight end for the catch they stopped the receiver but that's a solid gain on that play that's a good chob here staying ahead of the chains good pickup here on first down the quarterback hits the safety valve that time the big tight end that'll bring up a second manageable here for this offense there's the tackle but first down yardage running play gives the offense fresh set of downs makes a quick catch defense reacts quickly a very short gain on the play wow they get positive yards here but I have a sense that they want a little bit more with that pitching catch looking for his big tight end and he's got his man open downfield they bring him down but a big chunk of yardage on the Play What a pitch and catch by the quarterback and receiver for a big gain for this offense that huge play sets up a great opportunity first and goal just outside the five touchdown Duke to stretch the lead the route is on he just goes up and over the pile for that touchdown and that's some serious vertical by this running back a well earned touchdown on the goal line and he knocks the P right down the middle kickoff team has come on the field now to send this one away 42w does it bring the kick out Touchback they'll start at the 25 out comes the Northwestern offense onto the field this group is coming off a quick three and out can they put something together in this drive from the shotgun here's an inside G they'll tackle him right at the 31 great job by the offensive line here opening up some holes and giving the running back room to run on first down plays like this can open up the playbook for the play caller allow him to make that defense think are they're going to run maybe play action maybe throw the ball down [Applause] field see what the call is on First and 10 for the GRE 25 they're moving the receiver now before the Snap On The Run it's corter they'll stop him behind the line for a loss of one offense getting set up here's second down well they keep trying to run the football and they keep getting dominated at the line of scrimmage that has been a theme throughout this entire game we've talked about it earlier in the game it's not changing at all they become onedimensional and I think it's allowed this defense to really lock in on that quarterback this Northwestern offense is quickly moving down the field well here the defense decided to sit back in Play Zone and that front didn't do a good job of pressuring the quarterback he had the time to make the throw and he put it on target Nowhere to Run no caral him for No Gain here's the second down play and they hand it off to the back they'll stop him behind the line for a loss of one when another tough call for this offense seems like everything that they've called is going in the wrong direction I think they're just trying to get out of this one at this point and he losts it deep over the middle catch made it's a big play inside the 30 tackle is finally made but not before it's a huge gain down to the 25 and Duke has the lead here this has been a beat down and the stats at the end of three reflect that Northwestern getting set with a first first and 10 coming up the offense with some pre- snap eye candy pressure is coming and he finds a wide open receiver they forgot about him downfield Ball Carrier tackled at the two a solid gain on that completion so two big plays in a road the defense is reeling here now it's first and goal and looks like the quarterback's going to run it try to run it up the middle but get nothing second down and goal it's now and here's the snap quarterback looking to throw that's going to be incomplete a lot of contact no flag brings up third down the offense gets set for the 10th play on this drive third and gold will try to run it in and he runs it in for the score touchdown wild cats well first of all I'm impressed that the user has not turned the game off and reset or playing it to the final whistle and the offense is following your lead by playing hard and gaining some confidence for next week we not going to win this game but I'll tell you what you're a troop and the mat Return Man decides to Signal fair [Music] catch Duke's offense heads back on out of the field now first play of the drive they come out throwing caught near the sticks it's more not much after the catch but it is good enough for a first down two set of downs after that completion on First and 10 look at the throw and it's the senior getting home with the sack man I love to see these Big Fellas get a chance to make a play usually it's the guys on the edge linebackers but here the nose guard comes up with a sack fires it to the Wi out he's got it for a big game tackle made after a big big game big CH boy this offense operating at Peak efficiency dropping back it's Murphy he's going for a big play downfield oh and he's got it big gain inside the 25 and finally tackle him down at the two yd line what a play on the completion and the quarterback looking to make a play through the air touchdown blue devs this one is getting ugly that's another touchdown for these guys and they have had a day that you dream about whether it's the quarterback the running back the receivers the offensive line the entire unit has been dominant now the try for the two-point conversion takes the hand off looking to throw catch is made behind the line of scrimmage and he'll make it into the end zone to increase the lead even more the kick team on the field now as a get set to send this one [Applause] away and he comes out to the 25 no return attempted there okay here comes the Northwestern offense back out on the [Applause] field first play of the drive they're going to throw the football junior steps up and makes an impact play and just like that you squeeze the life out of this offense that's another sack by this defense they have been in that back field the entire game and a big reason why these guys are enjoying a lead we've reached the two-minute warning here this offense needing to score and then get the football back after the sack on first down it's second down from the shotgun drops back again he's just trapped and sacked in the body it is a sack party out there for this defense everything going their way you know that this offense is going to try to throw the football down by such a big margin late in the game and this defensive line is bringing the Heat and this is going to be a safety well Chris just when it looked like it couldn't get any worse for these guys it goes from being bad to even worse they seemingly can't do anything right at least they only have the rest of this quarter don't worry fellas it'll be over soon so the Duke offense has back out onto the field and this home crowd ready to celebrate a very satisfying home Victory makes the throw across the middle of the field here's a wideopen receiver complete a big Play Moves the ball across Midfield the opponent's 43 first down play call how aggressive will it be looking downfield it's Murphy short pass finds the tight end they bring him down but an explosive play by this offense Big Game Chris I know this offense is built around this quarterback we've seen it the entire game do you realize he's now close to 500 yard in this game alone [Applause] incomplete incompletion makes it second down quarterback sets up looking for an open man it's intercepted tried to fire it into a tight window on the return where they snuff out the drive with the first and 10 what the defense really the only way they can get back into this game is to create a turnover they get an interception and they're in business so the drive gets underway backed up at the 8 yd line looking to throw it on first down that's reeled in it's quarter they make the tackle but that pass creates a solid [Applause] gain brings up second down well this one ended up being a blowout for they get the W but they also
