[Laughter] welcome everyone to College Park Maryland and the house has been built by guys from Boomer to dig home to the mar and Terin where the fans are eager to welcome visitors into the shell today a big 10 clash and you know when you square off against a conference opponent the blood boils a little hotter as we'll see the Notre Dame Fighting Irish taking on the 24th ranked team in the land the Maryland terit for EA Sports college football I'm re Davis joined here in the booth by David poock and Jesse Palmer and guys let's get this thing started [Applause] the terrains will get us started with the opening kickoff [Applause] first down here for the [Applause] offense trying to get the corner find Z gree and he's got four out to the 29 and every offense has plays that they really hang their hat on and Back in 1970 it was the toss the toss play used to be the thing you don't see as much of this nowadays it's early in the game maybe it's something you wanted to show or listen Maybe defensively this is something you need to start focusing solid pick up of four on first down it's second and [Applause] six to the air it's Leonard complete really nice job there by both guys to throw and the catch to work that defense and get the first down the Irish have always been built on the run but timely completions are important like the great Tom Clemens back in the day or John hu got to be clutch right got got to be balanced and got to find those moments where you can Thrive it's always a system it seems like it noted anywhere it's been built around the Run game and it's built around physicality but they got to get that element of balance to really take off and get to that next level looking for space it's price good pick up on that play it'll bring up second and four well it's plays like that that will help this offense stay in Rhythm all game long if you can have that kind of success on first down running the football it just opens up your entire Playbook moving forward hand off from the gun tackle is made at the 48 it's a pick up of five and enough for the first down and I don't care if I get it by two by 20 by 30 by 40 I I just I just want to get the first down understanding the situation understanding where the sticks are doesn't have to be sexy but I got to make sure I get to that stick get to the first down Mark Notre Dame ready to go back to work with another first down might as well give it to him again it's going to be important this offensive line as able to get a little bit of push just got to give this guy an inch a little crease and he can make yards for it halfway there on first down it's second and five [Applause] they'll run it out of the shotgun nice solid form tackle from this sophore all right well the offense here they trying to get this run game established they obviously don't break off a long run there but they're just trying to find their footing at this point how bold will they be on third down after that last run we back to pass it's Leonard gets it out quickly and boy is he close to that first down maybe just a couple of inches short I mean good news here they get the completion bad news though not enough to pick up the first down the target there he's got to do a better job understanding where the first down marker is make sure he gets the right depth on his route now all of a sudden head coach has a big decision and he gets it out past the sticks and Notre Dame will have a first down yeah at this point of the drive fourth down and inches in your opponent's territory you're trying to get into field goal range you're just going to run the football you're going to try to be more physical at the line of scrimmage they were right there Qui completion to the right and the defense settled in to stop that one for a short gain well we knew coming into this game this offense was going to try and get this receiver involved and get him involved early so here they are just finding an easy completion it's not a touchdown but they just want to get this guy lathered up and get him into a row and here comes the offense on second down trying to get the edge on the right and they'll shove him out of bounds after the short gain and that's something this offense is going to try to do in this game and they're doing it early they want to establish the Run game they want to be more physical they want to control the line of scrimmage that's how they're going to attack this defense they're setting the tone on this opening drive 10th play coming here on Third and short trying to pick it up on the ground and he's brought down after a nice game you've got to be loving what you're seeing from your offense here on the opening drive at this game they're in a really nice Rhythm they've got real good balance going on right now and they've got the defense on their heels they'll throw it from the Red Zone got his man quickly so close to that end zone he could almost taste it but it'll be first and goal for this offense well you're seeing the balance this offense has and how they can create explosive plays in a variety of ways we just saw one come in the Run game and now you see one coming in the passing game I'll tell you they've got this defense on their heels trying to Surge it in and he is stopped not getting getting close to the end zone line of scrimmage still at the three listen the offensive coordinator's best friend in the red zone is the running game make guys commit near the line of scrimmage TR I and throw behind this defense is good but I'm going to challenge them I'm I'm going to try to be the more physical team I love the play call I think you keep running the football and stay physical try to bars their way in and how about that interior defense stuffing the run for nothing and with the stuff there Jesse on second down this little third to midrange you got two downs what are you thinking here maybe getting your quarterback out on the perimeter and giving him a run pass option see if you can get the defense in a bind and here they come to give it another shot on Third and goal from the three powers forward and after the stop that is going to put a bow on this first quarter number 9 that's the end of the First with the [Applause] game and to open the second quarter they'll start with a field goal try and he'll boot one from the right hash he ought to be able to navigate that angle from this distance the field goal is no good guys have after the Miss no change in the score you can't miss opportunities like that you're playing on the road in a hostile environment you're trying to seize momentum right out of the gate you get a nice drive to start the game and then you miss the field goal you don't get any points to show for that if they're going to win this one guys they've got to take advantage of those types of [Music] opportunities looking for a productive play on first down he's going to pass quick completion on the out route and just a short safe pass play they pick up a few at2 up now on second down [Applause] wants to throw it's Morris gets it out fast show him a little Juke and he's up to the 30 before he's brought down and I love when you understand when I'm supposed to put some RPMs on that football you could tell he's thrown over the middle of the field he knows he's got Defenders there I got to throw this thing in there quick fast in a hurry nice job by the quarterback ball sitting right at the 30 it'll be third and short SPID movement on the offensive line that's going to be a false start and they'll walk it back so the decision has been made and the coach will take the penalty they'll try to move the chains on Third and short from the 25 from the gun wants to pass receiver looks it in it's complete works his way to the 41 and that is plenty to give him a first down he might have expected to see this DB up in his receivers kitchen instead nice little Zone and they pick up the first man offenses are getting so good reys at seeing the holes in the zone knowing you're in zone knowing where to sit down how to make it an easy pitch and catch for the quarterback and that's what it was on Third and short trying to find his man on first down pulls it in and the defense had that one well covered just a short game there and I love when my quarterback sees Zone and knows exactly where to go with the football sees the wide receiver running the drag route knows when to throw it pulls the trigger for the easy completion on second down just keeps firing HS it down field good quickness to grab it off the bals finally run out of bounds but he has his offense rolling with a first down how about that heads up play you're coming out of the back field and all of a sudden the ball's in your red basard yeah how about that just seeing the ball tipped up deflected in the air the running back's like all right I I'll take it I'll make the catch that goes down in the stab book as a catch and the Terin look to keep this drive humming quarterback checking the play leaves it with the running back crosses the 40 gets it down to the 35 before he stopped a gain of six the Terin moving quickly to the line looking to throw it's Morris he's got his man he steps out of bounds but he's got enough for a first down yeah and you see running backs in today's football they play l receiver basically for you but you got to find a guy that you can throw it to and you know he's going to catch the ball consistently and the Terin have it with a first and [Applause] 10 the give and he'll pick up one it brings up second and nine you know runs like this often times are like a box in a boxing match obviously it's not a knockout punch but these are body blows and as the game goes on these small gains are going to turn into longer runs wants to fire on second down knew where he wanted to go with it but couldn't find his Target it's incom complete third [Music] okay ready third and long coming from the 27 yd line you can make a field goal from here just don't take a negative play just a short pass to the tight end he's right out of bounds but not before turning in a big pick up and moving the sticks for a first down and that's a really good example of a quarterback and his intended target both being on the same page the timing was almost perfect on that play that's why they were able to convert the third down now setting up first and goal the terpens have it with a first and [Applause] goal they'll try to get it in with the Run he works his way all the way down to the three and the defense is reeling the clock has stopped and we've reached the two-minute warning before halftime they got it down to the three now it's second and [Applause] goal 61 G tries again to get it in and they stop him again for no gain and it will be third down referee signals timeout is the defense wanting to make sure that they have everything just right with a big play coming after getting stuffed what do they have for an answer here on Third and goal from the two dropping back it's Morris he got it into the end zone dodg down Carin and I just love the execution by this offense late in the half man you want to take the lead you want to get that momentum on your side and they do it they finish it with the passing game and tell you what keep that passing game up you can keep this lead keep the momentum and keep putting up numbers and the extra point is good and it's 7even nothing about to kick it off after punching it in for the touchdown fielded In The End Zone it's young not a lot of space to be found good Hustle by the coverage team and they stop him at the 21 [Applause] M Dame has the ball and ready to get moving we talk about settling for points but sometimes when you have to settle for nothing David it can be demoralizing yeah and it can definitely be frustrating and I think it lead you to say maybe I go for it more but Jesse I think this offense just needs to put another drive together and just finish strong Stronger Yeah and and be a little bit less predictable too especially as they get closer and closer down to the end zone good connect on first down now back to the air and the diving catch down the right side man I I love those guys that are willing to put their body on the line and he does it right here man just lays out that Ball's coming in you can see it from several yards out making that play laying out keeping the football from touching the turf great concentration great effort by the receiver looking to move it through the air using the quick game you know I know it seems like an easy pitch and catch but for the tight end there that route potentially changes if it's man coverage so good job by him knowing it zone I'm just going to sit down this is basically like a checkdown right let's just take the easy pitch and catch and keep this drive going quickly complete he almost picked up the first down on that one but he'll be just a little bit short well he comes up with the reception but not a lot of room to run after that yeah and I like the QB doing this I mean I'm going to find ways to give the football and see if he can make a miss and I'm going to bet most of the time that my guy is a little bit more athletic than that defensive guy defense won this battle but I like trying to get this guy the ball in space he will step out of bounds but not before the big pick up and a first down for this offense a new set of downs after the completion he's looking to throw it makes the pass it's incomplete and he's lucky to get that one back almost intercepted I think for the quarterback he's going to have to be so good with his eyes in this game you're going up against one of the best defenses in the country you got to look guys off especially when you're trying to throw to your primary target like he was on that last one coming after it nowhere close on that one is he got drilled trying to deliver the football and now they face third down well tip your hat to the defense getting that incompletion cuz that hasn't happened often for this guy completed over 70% of his throws last week he's doing it again in this game can the defense continue to mix things up see if they can maybe confuse this QB the quick out he's one out of bounds but a big play on that one and it'll be a first down and that's why for the offensive coordinator you've got to find as many ways as possible to get this guy going just get him the ball close to the line of scrimmage doesn't need to be a throw deep down the field he's so Dynamic when he has the ball in his hands you saw it right there touchdown Irish and they made it to the house where they found that six points waiting on him he'll try to tack on one more and the extra point is no good no good and they're still down one so they got the touchdown now going to put it in the hands of their defense to finish off this [Applause] half and he'll just take a knee and this drive will start at the [Music] 25 Maryland has the ball back and the Terin offense ready to go after standing on the sideline and watching that long touchdown Drive they really need to put something together to give their defense a rest brings it in down the left side bulldozes his way through a huge gain on that one before he ran out of bounds and he has the first down well after that last play you can see how electrifying this guy is and how special he is after he makes the catch if I'm on offense I'm trying to find a lot of ways to get him touches in this game to the air it's Morris got it and that defense doesn't allow a cut back and they get him out of bounds after a short gain I want to get my running backs the ball in space as much as possible and sometimes it doesn't work in the running game but I can throw it to him I can try to create some space out wide dump him the football let him make some catches and see if I can't get some big plays out of it time dwindling away as they try to put points on the board right for the half pushes toward the goal line and he takes it to the house Dodge down Maryland and that is exactly what you want from your offense man late in the half you want to execute and then punch it in physically on the ground take the lead go into the half take all the momentum nice execution in the drive by that offense they'll try to attack one more on score and the p makes it 14-6 quick strike offense on that three-play scoring drive and close the deal with a threey touchdown [Music] run kickoff team is on the field they'll try to drive this one deep and they thought about a return Then thought better of it they'll bring it out to the [Applause] 25 clock reads 12 seconds as they head to the line we'll see if they're content to go to the locker room off the play fake on first down to throw got it behind the line it's Lo and he's able to shed one tackle and pick up pretty good yard they'll use a timeout right before halftime maybe time for one or two more plays one more play before the teams head to the locker rooms easy gorilla looking for a man it's Leonard pressure coming and he can't escape and down he goes we played two quarters here time to go to Kevin Connors in our halftime update ready to go here in the second half and Notre Dame will kick it [Applause] away here he comes from inside his own five really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the [Music] 19 here comes the Maryland offense back onto the field they got plenty done through the air in the first half and we'll see if they even need to look for balance as we start the third quarter well and I and I think defensively you understand like the running game isn't a big part of the plan I wonder how they adjust and play more coverage to this pass happy offense yeah so you're going to have to be ready if you're a quarterback then probably going to see some different coverages you might see a little bit more Blitz in the second half as well so you have to know where your answers are there's not a lot more beautiful in football than the playaction and the open tight end yeah because it freezes those linebackers it freezes those safties because they have to come up for a second and play The Run and then the big tight ends big Targets on the back end can catch the football and make big points well the defense was ready coming into this one for this running back being a factor in the pass game that that time they were draped all over him as soon as he caught the ball he went down for a loss [Applause] yards looking for that first down on Third and short from the [Applause] 28 looking to throw for it grab near the sticks a be BYO run out of bound but he has his offense rolling with a first down great job by the running back on this PL it's a big third down and his ability to catch the ball turn around get North make a guy Miss and go move the sticks awesome individual effort got it and the Terin will have it first and 10 they go to the ground he's brought down but there's a flag on the field let's see which way that's going to go the officials offer the deal and the coach accepts it they will take the penalty offense set on first down the receivers telling the quarterback what they see they keep attacking through the air and they couldn't hold off the heat and he goes down with a sack that Defender is a matchup nightmare for any offensive line in the block he's got athleticism he's got length he's got flexibility he put it all on display on that sack back to throw it's Morris he uncorks a bullet to the right and it's knocked away downfield the DB getting a hand in there and man some people just have a knack for the football and he's one of those guys and and he just gets the SWAT right there but he's in the top 10 of the nation in in interceptions for a reason just such a great feel for the passing game and where guys are it's just it's fun to watch him play defense [Applause] I'm not positive but that first down marker might be in the next County on Third and long hoping to throw beyond the sticks that's caught it's heny and he's not going to get there the defense Stands Tall and makes the stop you got to love that on defense one of the most critical statistics out there is how do you play on third down how do you prevent the opponent from keeping drives alive right there tackling the catch you gave up the completion what would you do you set up fourth and long you're going to get the ball back go get some water and celebrate on the return it's lock everybody stays in their Lanes well enough and they stop him at the 31 yd [Music] [Applause] line here come the ey back on offense looking for a gap it's love makes his man miss found a little space and he's got four to the 35 you see they need more runs like that it's just been so few and far between defensively they've been in position they've been winning their one-on-one battles getting off of blocks and ring to the ball carrier this defense has done a nice job slowing down the Run game as far trying play action and he was drilled just as he released the pass it's incomplete third it's hard throwing in the pocket man you got bodies and 300 lb dudes falling all over the place they're trying to hit you that time the pressure got to him and they force the incompletion couldn't find his man last time and that leaves him with a third and six to the air it's Leonard unloads to the wide out it's caught and the defense makes the immediate tackle but he has enough for the first down well look that wasn't a touchdown but that was a massive play for this offense they needed some momentum they needed to find a rhythm in what better way than converting on third down awesome job by the quarterback getting to his prodction any quick completion and even quicker loss the defense was right there to knock him down well there was really nowhere to go for the quarterback with that football he's just trying to check it down to his running back and the defense was there and they made the play on second down he'll fire throws for the tight end a beautifully placed ball to the outside in the tow drag for the big pickup big time throwing that last play you know you think about great motre Dame quarterbacks I think back to a couple of jokes Joe Montana Joe thyman they'd love what they' be seeing right now from this kid he's got arm Talent he's got accuracy and because of that he gives this offense the ability to light up the scoreboard an excellent Vision to find Running Room there and make a really good pick up before the defense put a stop to it first down physicality wins football games being able to run the football and create balance and and right here just chews up another first down gives you another chance to maybe continue to run the football and I feel like this guy too is just an explo exp of play waiting to happen his vision his quickness and he's got a burst if you give this guy just a crease he's going to hit it and right now he's doing some damage on this defense he's going to pass on second down caught near the sticks it's Evans and he cruises his way to the house touchdown Fighting Irish number 8 sometimes we ask coaches about halftime adjustments and they go blah blah blah blah blah blah and then sometimes they make some good ones sometimes that blah blah blah blah blah actually works but it's working now but it might be too little too late but at least you got the party started he makes the grab for the two and ties the game on that two-point conversion they spread the field five wide receiver set trying to create some windows to throw into and they come away with a beautiful looking schemed up two-point conversion he'll bring it back from inside as spot and they'll bring him down to get the offense started on the next [Music] [Applause] Drive fly gets set first [Applause] down let go they're going to throw it to start the drive the quarterback to win more On Target there maybe they hook up but it's an incompletion got a good one going here all tied up in the third it's second and 10 to throw it's Morris he finds his man and a good job in coverage there as they stop it after just a few a quarterback dropping back understanding I'm getting Zone coverage all I got to do is be a little bit patient manipulate that defense a little bit my wide receiver runs that drag and I get the first down quick timeout by the defense here trying to make sure everyone has the same call they line up and it is a long way to the sticks from here on third down he drops to [Applause] throw oh they really could have used that catch their physical pass defense it brings up a fourth down the terrains line up to punt it away this will be the second time they've had to kick it away a low line drive and short kick and the coverage team gets the returner on the [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] ground another name has the ball and ready to get moving this could be a real turning point in the game they scored a touchdown they got a stop and now a chance to break the tie yeah this offense has got it cooking man and how about the defense great job getting that stop getting the football right back to the hot hand now this offense Palmer has a chance to take the lead you could see the offense too they understand the situation right now they were jonesing on the sidelines to get another opportunity to run back on the field they are ready to drive this ball and go score from the gun running back gets to give tackle is made at the 30 yd line after he picked up four small gain I know but again the defense knows he's going to run the football he's willing to run the football not just drop back and pass make him onor the Run game you got to do a lot of this ready that's the end of the third qu and after three the game is TI we'll get this quarter going with a second down [Applause] play leaves it with the back wrestled down for 26 it's a gain of four I think they call back knowing they weren't going to hit a home run so why would you call it that well you call it so third down becomes an easier down it's not third and long where I have to pass the football now all options on the table bully ball on Third and short they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one and these are the big decisions you have to make in a football game how confident are you in your defense that's all this decision comes down to if I kick a field goal and I trust my defense that's how this game could end or do I want to roll the dice because I don't believe in my defense spit the upright it's good and for a quick update let's go to Kevin Conor's in the studio all right guys a little update on what else is happening in college football this weekend USF fell behind early and it's been an uphill climb since thing is this is a program that's worked the portal about as well as anyone these kids are tough and could just find a way they're trailing by 10 to Navy we'll Circle back if anything big happens you should know about it oh and how about that I know Kevin and those guys will be keeping an eye on it for us Maryland has the ball back and the Terin offense ready to go the last time we saw this offense we had to look quick it was a three and out Jesse he just had no ribbon in that last drive so someone's going to have to step up and make a play David and get this thing going yeah let's find some juice find your guy find those plays that you know you can run inside out forward backwards get some first downs get some positive momentum got three on first down it's second and seven now the quarterback changing the original play call looking to throw it's Morris what a snag by the defense bringing it back and they'll close in on him after a good return on the interception and no take defense was in cover two which means they had two safeties playing deep and they took everything away from the quarterback vertically forcing him to have to try to check it down and a great job by the linebacker jumping the throw and getting the pick here come the Irish back on offense guys that last trip a little disappointing having to take the three yeah I think Jesse you see so many offenses talk about getting yards and the tempo and all the stuff they do was a nice job moving the football but they got to get in the end zone this time yeah I think to do that they just got to be more physical at the point of attack get some push up front they need to be the best running team in this game to [Applause] win here's a quick throw out to the left touchdown Notre Dame and they add six more to the board with that trip to the house number one that's his third touchdown pass of the day the defense has no clue how to respond right now no and the defense has had absolutely no answer been on the money he's been on fire making the right decisions and just carving this defense up and no chance at a return here they'll start this drive at their own [Music] 25 here comes the Maryland offense back onto the field after that last pick David they really need to take care of the ball this time no doubt and Palmer I want to know what Spurrier said to you on the sideline after a pick do that again and you'll be right here beside me for the rest of the game you got to go out you got to call your plays and I hope this coaching St isn't going to be afraid to throw at this drive and the big tight end a lot of times that's a bigger Strike Zone a bigger dude and you could tell they ked the hit on him and that ball came out and it came to the turf nice job playing physical by this defense and he was hit just as he was releasing the pass and it falls to the ground incomplete there's nothing better than being a defensive lineman and a defense period that pressure the quarterback that gets hits on him that make him feel uncomfortable especially when you come into their building and you get everybody really really quiet that's a great feeling on Third and long trying to convert through the air makes a connection at the 45 on it way and how about that what the doctor always ordered an explosive play to the 40 and even though they're trailing here in the fourth quarter they've got a quarterback that can bring them back but they need him now to play his A+ level of football we saw a nice completion on that last third down let's see if he can keep it going and the physical play there forces the incompletion on first down we know this guy's a weapon not just taking handoffs but he can catch the ball too that play not so much got to do a better job reeling it in looking downfield it's Morris quickly to the tight end he's R out of bounds but not before turning in a big pick up and moving the sticks for a first down and that's why QBs love their tight ends so much right especially when they're athletic because they make short throws turn into long Gams because of his ability after the catch it's so unique and special he is dominant in this offense that's caught it's heni Dodge down terapen reeled it in and just made the house call they got the score they needed but this isn't open the dop call it come back yet the first part step one accomplished and this offense obviously still has what to do but the defense has to go out and get a stop get him the ball back about to kick it away after scoring the [Applause] touchdown he'll bring it out it's young rolling the dice to bring it out of the end zone did not work work out as he stopped at the 13 looks as if we have an injury on that last play and we'll take a break to check him out another Dame has the ball and ready to get [Applause] moving give as they work on that clock just a pickup of a couple out to the 15 yd line and I think if you're the head coach defensively now obviously you've got three timeouts in your back pocket you're trailing at this point and the offense is going to be running the football trying to bleed the clock they're going to take as much time off the game clock as they can before snapping it you've got to start thinking about using some of those timeouts they'll test the right side nowhere to run on that one he loses four on the carry third it's a nice job by this defense obviously backed up against it time running out got to get the football back two good plays now third down I stay aggressive have to come after him if they they decide to throw the football so be it but stay aggressive get that football back for your offense holds it in and another big game for this offense they are putting explosive pass after explosive pass up in this one well this guy's been a go-to guy for this offense all game long we've seen that and here on a critical third down late in the game with the lead guess who shows up with another big one that b and if You' have told this defense that they stuffed this great running back today they'd have taken it they'd have been happy but the offense has still put up production and they're still in the lead trying to find a way to finish this one off after picking up a couple it's second and eight easy going to run it it's l and they'll pick up the first down and Mark it at the 47 well the offense knew what they needed to get that first down so they dial up the running play and they get just enough to keep the drive alive we've reached the two-minute warning in this offense trying to milk this clock and keep time on their side this Notre Dame offense carving it up they're working with another first [Applause] down right back to the well not much working there it'll be second and nine of one brings up second down they're about to run a dirty half dozen plays on this [Applause] drive toss to the outside shakes off the tackle po through and he almost ran away from everybody on that one a huge pick up on that play you see so many offenses these days just throw swing routs to the running back that's the extension of the Run Gable that's the play that's the extension of it's the toss and when he gets outside watch out he can dial up home runs to the ground with the back and I think they'll give him two on that one second and eight coming up defense uses a timeout quickly trying to get that ball back and preserve time for their offense going to work on second down in the red zone is still some ground to cover to pick up that first down trying to impose their will with the run and he is swarmed under a host of Defenders there to make the stop timeout called there by the defense desperate to get the ball back and save as much time as possible tight quarters deep in the Red Zone but they can pick up a first down without scoring third down a quick completion to the left looking for the first down touchdown Irish a great catch and run for six that is exactly what you want your offense to do you want it to eat clock but if you score go up by two possessions nail meat coffin great execution by this offense to put this game away and the extra point extends the lead to double figures at 10 lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown Drive 31 Maryland 21 the ball bounces through the end zone and it will be a Touchback Maryland has the ball back and the Terin offense ready to go no time to feel sorry for yourself here Jesse there's still a chance but you've got to get it going now no doubt two possession game at this point right David not and it's intercepted a turnover from the defense and he's wrapped up after a solid return on the pick that should be the nail in the coffin what a great break on the football getting the big turnover you got the lead now just go out there be smart on offense and run that [Applause] clock the offense starts with a short Field Time Out looking for a productive play on first down use the play fake now to throw he'll take a shot this will be picked off maybe just the turning point they needed and they'll drag him down after a good return on the interception a veteran in this defense State locked in on his rules and made the interception and you know what you kind of deserve that l in the game where you could run the clock out still throwing the football all over the yard now this game it's a long shot gave him a little bit of [Applause] Hope a deep throw as the clock winds down and they can't make the connection going for a big play on first down and I understand the logic by the offense here obviously you're down in this game you're trying to claw back into it why not take a shot why not be aggressive in that time they just can't come up with the completion after the incompletion they go back up top and he was hit just as he released it and it falls to the turf that's another example of just really good football this is why they've built the lead here in the second half nice job pressuring the quarterback making him feel uncomfortable coming into somebody else's building and keeping it really really quiet third and 10 still backed up inside their own 20 this drive hasn't really gotten started he's taking a deep shot late in the game and trying to put points on the board on third down now they're staring at fourth down and now such a tough situation late in this game you're trailing but now it's Fourth and long like it's one thing if it's Fourth and short this makes it even more difficult you got to have something dialed up you feel really great about down by multiple possessions they can't come up empty on this drive in the fourth quarter they'll go for it on fourth down he's going up top here late in the game what a spectacular grab there as they try to finish this game with a little something to feel good about hey man that was just perfect execution offensively on a fourth down like that if you're going to throw a completion get the first and keep the drive alive he off one deep down the left side and they weren't able to make the connection they were looking for an explosive play all right Q I got to trust you man you already threw one pick now that one probably should have picked you got to give me a reason to feel confident I can drop back and let you throw the football again or else this lease maybe gets a little bit short maybe we start warming up the righty in the bullpen and after the incompletion on first down this offense looking at second down SPID wide out in motion dropping back it's Morris going back to the well another deep ball and the incomplete pass taking a shot on second down and they'll be left with a third down man this quarterback is living dangerously right now obviously he threw a pick on the last Drive he's trying to complete that throw but the defender gets a hand on it tips it up in the air that's oh no that is an oh no situation they're lucky that one hit the ground on Third and long he's going to have to throw for it complete down field he will step out of bounds but not before the big pick up and a first down for this offense and a first for the [Applause] offense okay and the Terin come to the line with a fresh set of downs the receivers often will run their route based on a side adjustment going up top on first down fires deep toward the end zone can't make the connection incomplete pass and 1 second remains and the defense is playing with a sense of urgency right now obviously they're playing with the lead they know this offense needs to find a way to generate points expecting a shot on that last play so nice job in coverage one more play to pad the [Applause] stats he's looking
