messing around good guys uh five minutes left in the second quarter or up 11 uh but just last night you know the gymnastics the you know more track all the things and gymnastics is wrapped up now right last night was last night was it it's it's crazy it's I mean I I know it's a it's a it's a two we event but I'm like oh yeah two we event means like when you're in the second week you're on the final stretch there and it leaves just as quickly as it came yep and that that's this is we're headed for exactly what uh what I've uh talked about with the Olympics that that we go along going oh yeah the Olympics are on you pop it on and then you know watch a little bit here there then it becomes the Habit mhm just cuz we were we were there at the house last night just sitting there quietly doing something I don't even know we'd kind of gotten in thought I was tur the radio on actually we did we listened to a couple Innings of the Rangers and just had it on quietly just some for some noise in the house and like wait a second the Olympics you know I don't even know what's on you just I got to put the Olympics on and then and then uh you know we got we got uh I mean who know that could have been the last time for vials and you know who knows I mean that that I mean it was already like a miracle of science that she was comp not for my angle I'm saying this is what I have been told from the gymnastic experts on TV I mean that it's incredible she can even walk is what it sounds it used to be just cuz the age thing with gymnastics it's like 27 is the new 90 you get PS 21 and they were they were old and post back in the day I mean when you think about all the Nadia and all that group Mary letten they were all doing that in their teens and now this this whole group was post uh you know they're they're they're College AE not not all of them but you know there's a lot of them that are college AE and a lot of them are NCA gymnastics or gymnasts and uh yeah just but you know B's just kind of being koi about it it's hard to imagine her competing again but she did sort of you know leave like well you know we are in USA in four years like and you'll be 31 32 years old yeah be unheard of but if anybody can do it it's her probably right like I mean I it's one of those athletes that I don't doubt unless I'm proven wrong right how much of a yeah how much of a what's her desire to train I say that I mean if she took off like the next two Olympics and it was like 12 years down the line and three Olympics later she's like I'm making a comeback I'd probably doubt her then probably go maybe we don't take Simone BS this time like hold on yeah just at what point and I would imagine as much as anything it's just the desire to uh to train and just put their body through that yeah did you uh all the hard Landings and all that stuff and I'm when they do it right much less when they miss or over rotate and slam a heel into the floor or whatever else I tore my Meniscus watching some of the Vault events I mean goodness I know uh did you this is a story that's already come and gone but did you dive into it all the Olympic beef between the gymnastics with her and the team not biles and the team but the entire team and former US gymnastic Superstar Michaela Skinner mhm her talking about them not working working as hard all that stuff like you won the uh well I guess it was right after you won the team event and uh the way that Simone bil announced it on her little post was it word at least somewhat word for word of how they described it and then it got like blown up into this huge thing and then it was like Michaela Skinner was like I'm receiving death threats over Simone biles beef and yeah it was a bunch of stuff that I was glad did not stick around all through this week but for a day it was like man there's something there's your there's your non-actual medal type story from the Olympics today there's your story of drama and you know what 24 hours later uh I learned that you could also watch the Olympics on E which felt fitting and I did not know this it was like the fourth at least on our on our cable it was like the fourth Network you could watch it on cuz it was uh you know up at the very very NBC level to USA to USA Sports maybe I think and then we were like scrolling through we're never especially the way that ours is like we're never that low in the channels I couldn't tell you if R TV's ever been on E but it was like we were going through the guide and it was like there was an Olympic event right there I was like what is that channel and I like oh what I was doing how long have they been doing this I was doing a search for breaking for our breaking competition that we're 3 days away and it's it's way down the dial like that cuz most of the time I'm just turning on the you know putting on NBC and seeing what's on you know I'm not really digging through oh let's see if the what's on USA or this or that but that specific the breaking I was like I'm getting that to the yeah you know so it'll be on CNBC on Friday night or whatever I'm there you know what I I kind of had this thought cross my mind because you and I have been so excited about this uh what if it's a let down it's just like such a a bummer I don't know yeah hopefully the competition itself is good just in terms of you know being dramatic and well there be a new American Superstar made we find out on Friday and Saturday it's Tech talk it's every Red Raiders favorite podcast this is the tech Talk podcast fromt 973 presented by kex Roofing the left I knew him I like to think he had a picture he was showing someone else like yeah I used to wear a bowler's hat really like yeah I used to wear it all the time and I was like look at was a bonus Tech talk here for you uh we are live from the First United Bank Studio uh Gus this is a uh let's see a five day old list here from espm and uh this is the 30 teams that they say can reach the postseason so they've gone all the way to 30 teams um they're using fpi and ESPN analytics to give us a percentage uh and you know it's uh if you're going just off of all off computer obviously off of computers it doesn't mean that there isn't a team that isn't listed in this top 30 that can't do it or won't or won't make a run whatever but right now before we have seen a game this is the 30 teams that they say can reach the postseason do you want to guess how many Big 12 teams are on this list first let's start there out of 30 I'll go up I'll go four there are six oh nice who do you think has the highest [Music] percentage oh I don't know maybe of course the there's probably the conversation probably has more to do with who uh who uh schedule and things like that rather than just straight up who they think is the best team you have the correct way of thinking right here you're you're on your way to an educated guest so I should steer away from the I should steer away from the obvious um you know Utah predicted to win the thing I don't know maybe a case State close by a guess at 15 Kansas comes in again this is off of the schedule and their predictions from uh I I think Kansas is favored in every single game get every they're favored in every single game except for the game they play against Kansas State who comes in with the 16th best odds and you look at a percentage Kansas they say has a 24% Kansas State 21.4% so there's not a huge gap between the two um and so there is your first Big 12 team at 15 and then at 16 your next one doesn't come in until 23 and that is the Arizona wild cats Arizona Wildcats they say have a 16% to make chance to make the playoffs and then your last three uh all come right in a row 28 now you're getting into some of your favorites although Kansas state is a favorite as well um Oklahoma State a team we all think has a great shot to uh return to the Big 12 championship game and back to back Seasons uh 12.6% and then your big 12 favorite comes in at 29 Utah with a 12.5% chance to make the playoffs and finally we get to number 30 who is it The fighting Texas Tech Red Raiders Texas Tech Red Raiders coming in at 30 uh their fpi chance to make the playoffs 11.5 uh they also give you the national actually winning the national championship percentage 3% yeah I think the uh because what it's doing is applying those fpis to each other throughout this conversation and assigning value and things things like that um the toughest test on the schedule October 5 at Arizona yep um there's the and this is their I'll just go through this real quick this is what they say the committee will like and then what they won't like and you see if you agree or disagree for the what the committee will like a winning road record the Red Raiders best chances to impress the selection committee with quality wins uh will come on the road the most elite competition will be at Arizona in Oklahoma State but it will also be difficult to win at TCU and Iowa State ESPN's fpi favors every Texas Tech Road opponent except Washington State obviously you play in the non-conference anything you disagree with from there no I don't I mean I I that doesn't that doesn't surprise me hopefully the results are better than that but that doesn't surprise me just because that's the thing we talked about from the minute the schedule came out you know going through the spring and you look at it and go hey the five Road games here are a little salty yeah yeah that's where that is where the competi competition wise the beef of your schedule is to me although I don't think that West Virginia game at the end of the year at the Jones will be easy by any means so have you winning that game and think you should win that game uh as it stands right now you know we'll see it's a long season right uh what the committee won't like Gus the overall schedule strength Texas Tech is ranked 69th in strength of schedule schedule according to ESPN analytics and might face only two college football playoff top 25 opponents during the regular season which would be those games a mentioned Arizona and Oklahoma State uh its non-conference lineup includes ACU Washington State um which is 64th in ESPN's fpi in north Texas which is 10 106 so it's the strength of schedule that they say they won't like if it's a are we going to take this team or borderline yeah scenario yeah strength the schedule conversations in this sport in the sport of college football I mean I don't know that there's a time that it's ever matter to Texas tag mhm because you got to be good enough to have that as a conversation you know the metric that moves the needle most of the time for these Bowl teams excuse me bowl games is just oh they're a nine and2 team or a eight and4 team or whatever and you know it's just raw wins mhm cotton ball 2005 9 and2 team who' they play in the non-conference Indiana State I mean it was it was it was a lame year that year but stocked up wins so you know it it'll be a great problem if we're all sitting around lamenting the uh the the strength of schedule at the end of the year going oh man we were you if only we were oh yeah cuz you're in the conversation right yeah you're 11 and two and not in the playoff because strength scheduled then okay but you know this thing also Al started as a it would be a wonderful problem to have U it would be painful but it'd be a wonderful problem to have but uh you might not also be 11- two if you go play that game at excuse me 10 and two or 11 and two whatever if you if you're going to Eugene you like people are going to look at go should have kept that Oregon game on there maybe but you might not might not have that extra win so yeah but yeah again strength of schedule in the sport 5 years for the naming rights to Florida Internationals Stadium what's the upside is what I'm getting at what's in it for him so I wonder since Florida International is in Miami like is he a bigger hurricanes fan or is he really this is a random school I mean even though he's from that area it's it's it's random to just show I guess that much love cuz I don't think he's in alumnus of Florida International unless he just grew up a die hard but I I'm I wonder if it was like hey can I fit this with Miami you're like no we already kind of have a thing going on here and Florida International was like I mean if you're offering we are also in Miami Florida Mr Pitbull Mr Bull if you will uh and he was like yeah and if you if you've got that kind of money to do it I don't if I was in his shoes and I I'm assuming here on his net worth here which should be quite a bit right I would guess and I had you know six millions to6 million to play with for five years and I mean I would put my name on like Portland State stadium if I could that would be real cool again as play money not like uh I have $12 million I'm spending half of it to have the Clint Scott dome instead of the Kibby Dome don't worry vandals of Idaho you've got a new sponsor that's what I'm saying if Pitbull is going to be charitable and maybe I'll give five million to that's Department why you know maybe think about it in terms of a sponsorship it's a business expense rather than a charitable deal it's still the 5 million or six million MH but I don't know maybe he's got some new Tunes coming out that he wants to you know hype up that's what we joked about like he drop a new Alum if if he wants to he gets to do the halftime show like every home game right or if they have like their version of we we joked about like the different radio stations if they have their version of panthers alley or Raiders alley he's like guess what guess who your headliner is every single week Pitbull so Pitbull is in fact born and raised from Miami M went to high school at Coral Park and attended dorl College which is also in Miami so you could say it's just repping his hometown well I know that's it's like the hometown thing that's what I'm saying like did he ask the hurricanes and they were like like is he a bigger Hurricane fan cuz they're the bigger University there and they were like well we kind of already have a thing here on the stadium that's not really going to work and that was like the backup plan or is it like hey like I have been a Panther fan forever go FIU take that FAU doesn't that kind of not sit right with you the Panthers at Pitbull Stadium little dog and cat situation there huh yeah yeah it sits fine with me um I just I think it's fantastic I did not expect to wake up to Pitbull news I'm not really a big pitbull fan by any means I don't hate his music but don't love his music but I'm all in on uh yeah that's that's that's why I'm curious about the curious about the motive one of again I'm throwing out a couple of uh possibilities to thought of maybe he was going to be charitable anyway and just thought why take those naming rights that'd be cool yeah yeah but you know maybe he's going to drop some music maybe he's got a tour planned and this is just promotion it's a easy way to hear or you know who knows the new album has like seven different references to owning a stadium even though his name's just on it album name my house and it's FIU Stadium I like it I like where he heads that Gus uh this on the Yates flooring center chat line road trip to pit Stadium I wondered too which we got this on the chat line don't wander too far Clinton you make get lost yeah good point I get lost a lot it's all right uh does this because I I I wouldn't guess that they have great attendance for FIU games I mean who knows maybe they're like yeah we're the group of five that's been selling out this whole time you haven't heard about us um but I wonder if uh FIU again just getting hey one your your name's in the headline but also you're getting $6 million over five years so it's all benefit from their side it's a no-brainer but I wonder if they can work this into as like no we're going to sell a lot of tickets because now you can buy the Pitbull package right you're you're you got naming rights on your Stadium you're out there trying to sell it in a competitive Marketplace and you just sold yours now if he turns out to be you know doing something awful away from the you know what I mean like just you know whatever you can imagine I mean the all the stuff that something comes out later on like oh wow that kind of backfired but I mean that he's he's been around a while you would think that uh that might have already been played out and I'm sure somebody vetted this but yeah from FIU standpoint I mean if what I mean especially if you don't have a lot of offers yeah I doubt that FIU had you know AT&T beating down their door I don't know and that's that's my again I'm not I would like the answer but not enough to actually look it up but but like was he competing with somebody was did somebody back out or did they have like it's been something that he just found this is the Arizona Cardinals new cotton candy burrito and I got to tell you we've seen some real weird real crazy food items some of them sound a awesome some of them sound meh this sounds and looks atrocious this is a monstrosity there's like sprinkles in it there's Froot Loops there's M&M's there are uh looks like uh what is it uh Fruity Pebbles maybe a couple Red Hots in there this is way too much they look like those shakes from that Dallas joint you and choice mentioned about a couple months ago I'm forgetting the name I mean if you give this to a child they may never sleep again at least for the next year goodness yeah that seems Seems gross I'm out are you in no I was I'm out I'm out no it does it does at least um make a little more sense or it gives us a little bit of context that this is a game day item in a venue as opposed to just some some something that somebody made at their house I mean that thing looks like I love it but I'm just saying that's or hula oh is it the will faral ribbons from Old School right incredible mhm I say that I didn't watch I wouldn't watch that's doesn't have my attention arena is that the only thing that's rhythmic in gymnastics I guess no well I I don't Oh you mean the only yeah like what other events are in I mean how much can you do with the uh twirling well I would think the ribbons I guess yeah I mean I I would think that's a kin to it's a cousin of like synchronized diving and synchronized you know those things seem maybe in a similar vein mhm but U it's all a judged Sport and they change synchronized swimming to Artistic swimming correct okay I think I don't know I know that breaking's on Friday that's what I know we got the ones we want we're locked in you and I you beta yeah [Laughter] the ever or if it was like the week before game yeah leading into opening day maybe there's a little bit of a different you know that that that could be stretched out a bit just to just to you know tease us into wanting to stay or be there building everything that you're doing for um you know your kickoff to your season and not confined to one week and I do think I mean you're going to have a you're going to have a really really good crowd there anyways but you know you it is ACU so anything else to drum up everything is just going to be helpful plus you want to lean into it because it's the start of your season but on the other side of that I don't since it is the start of your season you're going to be pretty amped I mean I expect the tailgating to be great and humming and all of the the pregame entertainment should be well attended hopefully when you come and uh run by our kickoff show optimum game day live we'll get to talk to all of you so should be fun I'm excited man you mentioned this I've got the uh Olympics to hang on to right now where I've got stuff still every single point of the day you're going to have this what two week little drop between here and then week zero for college football that's going to feel like as big of a wasteland as it is between like Texas Tech base I know this yeah we're we're we're we're we're staying occupied with Olympics and 're we're sort of being treated to this in a way that uh you here in another what six seven days we're just going to be laser focus what we need is one of the uh PR preferably the Astros and Rangers to go on heaters to kind of occupy us a little bit that's still not the still not going to get the job done practice reports we will get a little media tonight from the coaches it's your walk out music but be keeps TW be keeps finding stuff on it so it's true it's the most important story today in college football I like how the athletic director goes this is a historic day blah blah blah Armando's financial support is program changing you know like he's got Perez of real he's got to use the real name as opposed to you know my boy pit you know whatever be very formal we'd like to thank Mr worldwide for his generous donations to Florida International University that's right him and his shotties have made a quite a donation the uh we are very excited for the first Stadium's do Pitbull has agreed to a create an Anthem for FIU B post about the school on social media 12 times a year and appear on one Athletics excuse me at one Athletics fundraising event per year throughout the term of the agreement in addition he will get the use of The Stadium 10 days per year throughout the term of the deal oh whoa hey yo so it probably will be some concerts I was going to say I'm I'm sure oh sorry and the Vodka company he owns will be the preferred brand distributed in the stadium there you go so and he has an OP he has an option option Pitbull has an opt let's see I think it is Pitbull but it's I think let see the deal includes an option for Pitbull to renew the agreement for five additional years okay so first we're we're very we we're becoming very good at breaking down contracts in the sporting World Gus actually you are uh I'm just tagging along yeah um so just from the wording of it it didn't say he has to post anything positive about the school right during sporting events like they could get blow like being blown out and like one of his 12 could be like bro we suck today CH that's one there's one one of 12 and it also doesn't say that it technically has to be concerts right like if he wanted to go play like the biggest game of college football 25 on FIU Stadium if he wanted to could be if he wanted to that could be one of how many was it nine uses of The Stadium 10 yeah for me what it boils down to this is from Armando for me me what it blows down to is Miami is always known for being underdogs no matter what we do and what level we take it to being underdogs is what I always felt about FIU fighting clawing their way just to be seen to be recognized whether it be from education business these Sports so when this idea came about it came about just like a Miami Dade County 305 idea would come about nobody would believe in it all we had to do was just like we say in Miami take take it to the house they only say that in Miami it's like their area saying no one else says that okay that seems funny I wonder what uh now okay I'm I I'll tell you what I'm getting invested I need to pick a random group of five team to latch on to this year uh let's see we got uh Indiana on the schedule at Indiana and then Central Michigan your first time there at a pitbull stadium is that just are they just going pretty straightforward there I guess and then they so Indiana at FIU no no no FIU at Indiana Central Central Michigan at fi got it got it then they go to Florida Atlantic then Monmouth big match up there at Florida Florida International Monmouth then the fighting Sunny cbies go to Florida International September 28th Sunny's got a birthday coming up this week oh don't give it away all right uh and then at Liberty atut hosting Sam Houston hosting New especially the steel rings but if someone has to judge it it's not a proper sport I judge dairy cows and meat in high school I had no idea how I was scored but when I hit a double to drive in a few runs I knew exactly how I scored don't tell me the plate umpire as a judge because it's not convenient to my thesis my thesis nice you know we've talked about this a little bit uh my favorite part of the Olympics is a sport that we watch and I'm I'm I'm saying a sport in a sea of sports that you see in the Olympics one once every four years and if you're a true Die Hard fan like if you're a Die Hard fan of cycling you're probably finding it somewhere if you're a true diard fan of bad mitt you're probably finding it somewhere but for the bulk of us that only see it in a twoe span every four years is the sudden armchair quarterback angle of it it's incredible like yeah now we're we're sitting here watching USA in Hungary play a Women's Water Polo game and I'm sitting here just cringing
