[Music] [Music] they feasted at Magnolia table they've ridden the boats down the bres and now they're ready for their bayor Bears to go to work here inside McLean stadium in Waco Texas and the Cowboys will kick it away first and they desperately wanted to attempt a return but decided not to instead they'll take the Touchback the Bears offense will get the first crack at it here and here's the man they rally around and he has earn that type of respect David you dang right you earn it by doing it and he's done it at such a high level everyone believes in this young man in Palmer there's a reason why you're right David he's been in the Big Moment On The Ground High fall they recover their own fumble somehow who knows how they got that thing back second down after the offense averted absolute disaster they'll run the option good pick up there he gets enough for the first down if I'm building an offense in today's football it's not around a quarterback that can I'm going to find an athlete that I can give the ball because defensively it starts to limit your coverages it starts to limit what I can do it makes me play the quarterback every single play just makes your job as a defensive coordinate extremely a confident tough efficient run gets it up to the 44 got eight on first down now looking at a second and two three snap motion quarterback trying to get a read got it in the middle it's Balman and they exploited that soft spot and they get it down to the 35 and there was no question in that scenario that's where the quarterback was going he knew he had his receiver in a matchup that he liked running a route where he would find himself opening nice job between those two caught in the back field it's Hawkins and the defense had that one well covered just a short game there got the completion on the last play still some work to do on second down he's looking to throw that's caught it's Hawkins and he's able to shed one tackle and pick up pretty good yardage Ball's at the 25 they're in field goal range but they love to convert this third and short they'll try to get the first through the air fires to the wide out he caught it huge game before he goes out of bounds and now they've got it first and goal defense is backed up shadow of the goal post trying to defend their own End Zone reload flip it flip it they'll try to get it in with the Run he worked his way ever closer all the way down to the one yd line if you don't tip the scales at three bills stay on the sidelines big boys in the goal line D back to throw It's Finn and it's caught touchdown Bears well you know this offensive coordinator scripts his opening 10 15 plays and even need that they went nine plays to scor the touchdown everything working perfectly they looked like a well oiled machine early this game on about to kick it off after punching it in for the touchdown on the run from inside his own five really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 the Cowboys offense will will take the field for the first time and it won't be easy to throw the ball down the field today David because both of these teams have lock down Corners I mean these guys shut down half of the field playmaking cornerbacks that really can play manto man and lock down the best guys on the other side yeah if I'm a quarterback in this game I taking a calculated risk if I'm thrown towards one of these two dudes because you're just asking to get picked off after the productive first down play it's second and six just enough there to get it to the 25 a pick up of two looks as if we have an injury on that last play and we'll take a break to check him out they'll try to move the chains on Third and short from the [Applause] 25 and the pass hits pick off going the other way and he's got room and he's going to score on the interception touchdown Bor really nice drive by this offense this is a top 10 defense this is a challenge they're going to make everything difficult so when you can make some plays against this defense you got to absolutely take advantage create some momentum for your squad nice drive by this offense they'll kick it off and send that defense right back out there to try to score again after the pick six here he comes from inside his own five didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 Oklahoma State hoping to get the pistols firing on on offense to say this has been a slow start is a bit of an understatement and they really need to get it going here Jesse that's right the opponent they're firing on all cylinders right out of the gate offensively for this unit they've been slow and struggling they need an explosive play to wake themselves up yeah and it's just the first quarter so it's not the end of the world you've seen slow starts but you got to continue to pick and pick and pick until you find that play or that scheme that you can use against this defense looking for room it's green good job running tough and behind his pads as he gets up to the 38 yd line I like the Poise by the quarterback on that play too because a lot of times as a quarterback you see the blitz coming and immediately you want an audible you want to try to throw the ball but he knew that he had a good run play called and he knew he could leave it on heads up play by the QB we'll see if they go back to the air after the incompletion it's third and five back to pass it's Bowman and they got him he'll get him down from the sack the Cowboys will putt this one away this will be their first punt of the afternoon holds it in and looking up field they'll put that return to a stop at the 33 but the offense set up in pretty good field position and now the offense will come onto the field again that last touchdown Drive was surgical through the air Jesse it sure was and that's why this offense is so dangerous David because they can score in a hurry because of how efficient they are throwing the football and welcome to Modern college football that's what it is spread you out find my Playmakers make quick decisions and really put defenses in a difficult situation grabbed behind the line it's Richardson just what they were looking for and he's got him set up in business at the 35 with a first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs lock hand hand power football with the run and he's able to pick up a few yards as we reach the end of the first quarter that's the end of the quarter and it's Baylor holding the edge they came out and jumped on them early in the first let's take a break and look at the first quarter steps he'll run it again they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one yeah they're just going to need more push up front there was nowhere for that running back to go the offensive line got moved right back into his lap and as a result they lose yards on that play they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one they'll send out the kicker to try to salvage this drive he'll need to strike this one cleanly from 48 yds out knocked it right through showing that big range from 48 yds out they keep pushing that lead out and the kickoff team's getting some work how great is it to know that if you can get the ball down somewhere close to the 40 yd line on your opponent's side of the field you're walking away with at least three points because this dude is out of Oklahoma state has it back and the offense is on the field they've gotten nothing done so far and they already find themselves in a three-possession hole Jesse yeah and as a head coach you're wondering what didn't I say what didn't I do to get my team ready to go because we look like we're sleep walking at this point there yeah nothing went well in the first quarter you just say refresh like let's try to find a way now chip into this lead try to make it somewhat manageable when you get to the half and he's tripped up but not before picking up the first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs comes out throwing on first down how about that play to get a hand in there and force the incompletion ball still spotted at the 34 it's second and 10 after the incompletion dropping back it's Bowman looking left just let him a little too far across the sidelines couldn't make the catch in bounds it's incomplete if they can convert here that type of play can really give you a shot of momentum unloads to the wide out what a job to lay out and make the catch nice confidence by the QB good throw over the middle of the field nice little strike down the field for a big play listen you got to throw it where it's open and he found a slot found a little hole in the middle of the field nice job attacking really important for a ranked team going into a hostile environment like this one not to give the underdog reason to believe yes reason to believe and don't give the fans reason to get jacked up and excited come out early be in a business mode mindset you got to start fast you got to have a sense of urgency you cannot come sleepwalking into an environment like this because if you do and you make some mistakes this crowd will pounce on you and sees momentum it's just so nice to know you can start off on first down with positive plays positive yards hand the football off set up a good second down he finds his man that completion will take it close to the 5 yd line they'll mark it at the six that was a nice pickup running the drag route and finding that quiet soft spot in the zone yeah drag routes not only work against man coverage they work against holds it in in the end zone pistol f iring touchdown Cowboys Oklahoma St an impressive long methodical meticulous Drive ends in points they just matriculated the ball down the field didn't they ree so impressive didn't see a lot of explosive plays but how about the execution running and throwing the football wow nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the 16 here comes the Baylor offense back on into the field they kicked a field goal on the last Drive Jesse they've got the lead don't make a dumb mistake but maintain your aggressive play calling yeah no doubt I think it's the play caller right now just taking a look at that script he's got in front of him and finding out where are my Playmakers who can we take advantage of on this defense to get a touchdown here David yeah and just keep moving the ball down the field just execute a little bit better in the Red Zone there's no need to panic we're moving the football and we got the lead they him to the ground but he's got plenty for a first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs as we reach the two-minute warning they'll need to try to get a stop to keep this thing from getting out of hand offense has it at the 28 on first down he's looking to throw it fires to the wide out it's complete nice pitch and catch there and they'll have enough for the first down and the bears come to the line with a fresh set of downs check check looking to move it through the air grabbed in the middle it's Jackson and good coverage by the defense just a short game after the short completion it's now second down he's looking to throw going for it all to the end zone and it's picked off and the senior just took that one out of the air and sends it the other way first down here for the offense easy back to pass it's Bowman looking for a deep man holds it in on the right and the tackle was made but not before that completion gets him 30 plus that last big play has them in position to threaten here first and 10 from the 37 using his legs keeping his eyes downfield working that left side now they make the stop but not before they do do their work up top and pick up a first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs trying to find his man on first down throws to the wide out it's caught downfield they'll get him stopped just short of the end zone but they're in business here with a first down this offense in scoring position with a fresh set of downs he's got it down to the one yd line right on the doorstep of per brings second angle defense going all in to stop the run pushes toward the goal line and they try to run inside and there is nowhere to go get tackled down at the one yd line so offensively do you feel confident enough on third here trying to hand it off again yeah and I'm taking both these downs and I'm coming downhill I'm running the football trying to get this in the end zone I only got a yard to go I got to be physic they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that [Music] one there's a timeout called as this offense tries to find a way to draw a little closer they' love nothing better than to add a three ball here before the break and you let to be precise from the left p in this short angle no what a disappointment no good a Miss field goal leaves work up top after how productive that passing game was in the first half and it's interesting if I'm the defense and I've got the lead they've had success throwing the football but we're winning I I don't know that this defense changes too much of what they've done in the first half I think they got to do a better job with pass rush they might want to change their coverages as well because they're probably at this point expecting this offense to have to keep throwing considering they did have success in the first half gets it out to the 38 yd line after picking up 10 on that one you're down obviously at the half you had a conversation we got to come out and put points on the board and Jesse it looks like they're going to start with the ground game and I love this David too regardless of whether they're losing or they're winning come out here and try to be the most physical unit here in the second half get this run game established right away after picking up a first down they go right back to their playmaker at running back and I love the push they got up front getting a hat on a hat opening a huge hole for the back and you become so hard to defend when you can run the football successfully on the first down you're starting like that now what opens up play action now you're making me play pass and run this offense if they can create that run physicality now it opens up everything else usually see better timing between this senior quarter back in his receivers that one well behind him guys this offense is already reeling down multiple possessions really need to cash in on this drive he's missed three in a row now with that last incompletion and the Cowboys will line up to pun it away this will be the second time they've had to kick it away you'll call for the fair catch here Baylor has it back and here comes the bear offense after that last pick David they really need to take care of the ball this time no doubt and Palmer I want to know what spur you're said to you on the sideline after a pick do that again and you'll be right here beside me for the rest of the game you got to go out you got to call your plays and I hope this coaching staff isn't going to be afraid to throw at this drive from the gun the Gil looking for room and the defense holds firm no pick up at all on that play offense breaks the Huddle on third down easy they're trying to slow that Rush down with the draw he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three and the Bears will send out the punt unit let's see if he can help the coverage defense got it and that is exactly how you draw it up you get to the quarterback but you get the football out you hit him you try to rank it out great job by the defense getting the sack getting the fumble read it fires complete they stop him almost immediately short gain there and still a little ground cover to pick up the first let's see what they've got on second down looking to throw It's Finn unloads to the wide out makes the grab let me tell you this senior quarterback can flat fit it in a tight window offense lines up for a first and 10 from the 43 he wants to throw fires to the right he makes it catch and the defense makes the immediate tackle but he has enough for the first down the Bears come to the line with a new set of downs back to the air one more time it's caught and the defense was right there to make the tackle but not before they get it to the 12 and set up in the red zone and the MIRS have pushed it inside the 20 let's [Applause] go he'll pull it on the read and the defense makes the stop after a minimal game yeah it's a nice job by this defense understanding listen that QB is and they're going to run all kinds of options and he's going to run the football they were dialed in and got that ster to the ground they go to the ground Relentless tough running gets it down to the four keep pounding away at this defense and make them play the run if you can get this many a chunk they're going to have to commit more guys to the Box more guys to the run then you open it up for the passing game they'll try to get it through the air touchdown bears and they'll put that scoreboard operator to work and put six on the board number they've extended the lead and taken control here in week nine and with the extra point they now have a thre possession lead at 17 about to kick it away after scoring the touchdown bringing it back didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 Oklahoma State hoping to get the pistols firing on offense trailing Now by 17 David this is an opportunity that they need to answer and down by 17 it's not panic B yet like I know we just gave up some points and our defense hasn't played great I think this offense can still be who they are and stay consistent no doubt lots of football to go but you do get the feeling this is the time of game where you know it could get better you don't score and all of a sudden they get the ball back they take it down the field and put some points up this thing might be over so absolutely this quarterback he wants to drive this offense down the field and at least put something on and they gave him no chance to get loose and they forc a fourth down and the offense stays on the field on fourth and one I'm not sure they're just trying to make the defense jump I believe they think they can get it the Cowboys get enough to move the chains and that's first down for the off wants to throw on first down off the play fake and with the pressure on him the quarterback goes down and we've played three quarters here that's the end of the quarter and it's Baylor holding the edge and as we switch ends of the field let's take a quick look at the national rankings feeling some heat and here comes the pressure and there he goes down again I'm not positive but that first down marker might be in the next County on Third and long a check down would be the last resort and that pass picked off and they'll drag him down after a good return on the interception that's why you love veterans in this defense they stay locked in on their rules and he made the pick from the gun running back gets to give and maybe he'll get back to the line of scrimmage but no more than that they got nothing on the last play it's second and 10 [Applause] to play and he feels the heat coming and it burns him up another sack the Bears will bring the punt team onto the field three and out and not much choice but to get rid of the ball that thing was down for a while but the big bounce carried it into the end zone and it'll be a Touchback Oklahoma state has it back and the offense is on the field looking to go up top on first down makes the catch it's pressling well and here's the problem offensively because you're trailing by so much so late the game the defense now is going to be playing big Zone coverages and they're going to allow you to throw the ball underneath in the middle of the field rally to make a tackle and that is interception number three on the day just a small return but a big play as they have it now at the 45 the offense lining up for a first down play takes a handoff it's Richardson not a whole lot of progress made there on the short didn't get much on first down it's second and nine they're looking for an advantage to the right they'll get him stopped at the 34 he's got 10 yds on that one and a first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs easy they'll run the ball the clock is on their side he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three last play was a near disaster now dealing with second and 13 quarterback on the keeper that's what you expect from a senior don't give them any extra yards great tackle there well the QB decided to keep it on that one and listen if you had his athleticism you'd want to keep it too almost every time they run these types of option plays but he's just going to have to do a good job of understanding when to hand it off when to pitch it and try to keep this defense on their heels and read his keys he's got a lot of talent just got to make sure he's making the right decisions moving forward knocked it right through showing that big range from 48 yds out and let's check in with Kevin Conor's in the studio Kevin all right guys come back they needed a take away badly here late in the game and they got it let's time to take a shot and they are pushing the ball down the field a big pick up on that one and the tackle is finally made everybody has to be set they have to get it off looking for a man it's Bowman looking to the big tight end complete downfield they get him stopped the 5yd line but it will be first and goal from there first and Oklahom here's the snap looking to throw and this one's going to be incomplete he was trying to make the connection in the back corner of the end zone can the defense stop them again on second and goal he's looking to throw and that one is picked off in the end zone that should be the nail in the callner what a great break on the football getting the big turnover when you got the
