welcome in everybody it's the coach this is Madden 20 on EA Sports up next we've got what ought to be a great matchup between the Green Bay Packers and the Denver Broncos with that we're off to the Rocky Mountains standing by in Denver here are Brandon genen and Charles Davis EA Sports coverage of the NFL has us at the foot of the Rockies just west of downtown Denver at in power Field at Mile High just a short time ago sounds like loud enough to reverberate across the Rockies they're ready for football in Denver as the Broncos get set to do battle with Aaron roders and the Green Bay Packers alongside Charles Davis I'm Brandon garden and Charles kickoff moments away quickly what are you watching in this one the offensive line for both teams because both teams have a terrific pass rush they've got to keep their passers upright if they have a chance to do that they can both thrive on on offense and move the ball down field the veteran kicker Mason Crosby set to do the honors here and in front of a rockus crowd this one is underway this is taken at the three and not a bad return here he gets it out to the 25 yd line so here are the Broncos now for their opening drive they'll be let out by their veteran quarterback a former blue hen out of Delaware it's Joe Flaco you got throwing here on first down Flo man open he's got it complete to cland Sutton and he's taken down but able to slip across the 35 14 yds there on the first play from scrimmage so here's a first and 10 at the 38 right right right down down now the first Carry here for phelip Lindsay zarus Smith able to get him down the offensive lineup now and the guy we highlight Emanuel Sanders you can use him in any spot as a wide receiver in the slot out wide it doesn't matter he just makes plays the first down run got five here's second and five on second down a run with Lindsay looking for a crease can't find one stopped at the line of scrimmage no gain on the play that time and they'll look to convert on what'll be a third and four [Applause] third down Flaco from the gun under pressure and Flaco's going to be dropped zarius Smith gets in there to drop him for a loss of 13 yds and it's also fourth down now it always helps for a visiting team to come in and set the tone on defense in fact when we talked with them prior to the game they said they wanted this home crowd to feel like they had to hide their valuables when they were in town well the home crowd quiet now early see if their offense can take over and get some points on the [Applause] board well on fourth down on is the punter Colby wadman Trevor Davis deep for Green Bay he'll send this one into the mile high air and it's a good one AB love the flexibility of these punters their leg Drive able to get it way up in the air and that allows the punt team to get down there and down it inside the 10 because they've had some time and Green Bay getting ready to go as they take the field [Music] now the man from utap this is Aaron Jones and he's going to be taken down shy of the 10 right around the 9 yd line two yds on the carry there it'll be second down they tried to Quick hit her inside but that one was swallowed up because what they're hoping those big defensive linemen will take the bait and move laterally and open up a crease that they can run through didn't happen on that play on second down it's Jones and a short gain here across the 10 to the 12 just a couple on the pickup there and now it's third down Brandon we talk all the time about those hybrid players guys who could do more than one thing and I think if you're playing strong safety in the NFL today you are a true Hybrid part linebacker part cover guy and coming up sticking his nose in the mess there and making a nice play defensively Rogers going to throw open man is Allison complete and he'll be taken down but they've got this one up to the 35 yd line a pickup of 24 on the third down conversion one of the selling points at the end route is it gives the quarterback a really nice sight line to his receiver and almost on a direct shot able to throw the ball into the middle of the field and have a great chance of success as they did on that play ball up to the 35 now as they come up on First and 10 now some movement before the snap and we'll hear from our referee for the first time this afternoon and that'll set him back five the ball right here let go after the penalty it's Jones they get the penalty yardage back plus a yard 6yd gain and it's second and nine all right BR I know we're in the early going here but those kind of runs they're going to open up a world of opportunities for this offense going [Applause] forward on second and nine Rogers Pass hauled in by the 64 tight end sternberger that catch good for only a yard and it'll be third down and partner I think that was a great example that not all tight ends are created equal because everything was right got the completion but he's not one of the more Dynamic guys in the league so even though he caught it couldn't turn it into much more throwing is Rogers on third down he's got his man Valdez scantling 11 yards and a Green Bay Packer first down well from their point of view this game could not be starting out much better could it force a punt on defense and now they're moving it crisply on offense crisply I like that yeah yeah moving it very very well looks like the defense on their heels a little bit you put a score in here long way to go but you're right that's a heck of a start yeah and I think this is where the play caller is looking at his play sheet and saying do I have that dagger play do I have that play can just finish them off right now cuz I think they'd love to gain that big Advantage early Rogers now on first down and that is incomplete took a shot there on first down but he couldn't reel it in well that certainly looked like something that they discussed all week in practice getting ready for this one take the big shot right out of the gate at worst you'll open up the defense a little bit loosen them up have back on their heels an incomplete pass on first down that leads to a second and 10 Rogers with a give it's Aaron Jones and this may be a carbon copy as he'll again be stopped right at the line of scrimmage call it no gain on the run there and now they'll be looking at a third down well if you look where that play starts o line versus dline that was a battle won by the dline Yeah and often times it's won by quickness off the ball who can handled the guy across from them best on that play the defensive line did exactly that got an open man it's valz scandling and this is going to be another first down as they'll make the tackle at the Broncos 38 yd line nice job keeping that opening drive alive and they're in plus territory that part of the field where you really want to convert on third down they did Big Time pick up for them and now I think the aggressive play callers think to themselves this part of the field I take my shot at the end zone because the closer you get to the end zone the field gets condensed makes it a lot tougher to run those you still got a chance to actually run past people right now take your shot at the end zone early in down and distance count now a first down carry by Jones and he'll get four here down to the 35 yd line I call that play a success a nice inside run sets up a very manageable second down a very solid gain on that play The Run got four now they deal with a second and six from the shotgun to give to Jones and a short gain down to about the 33 well they had that one sniffed out excellent run blitz stopped that one for a short gain what makes a good run blitz a good run blitz the ability to stay on task to follow up your assignment go to the Gap you're supposed to cover and not be deterred by anything else from the gun on third third down Rogers got a man that's Allison and this is going to be another first down as they'll make the tackle at the Broncos 13 yd line they're piecing together a nice drive to start this one seems pretty scripted and pretty successful so far and I think they did it without our help CU you remember when we sat in with in the production meeting with them to talk about this anding hey you know how you guys going to come out of the gate I know I offered my help with a few plays and they didn't seem to want I didn't offer mine you were you were the smart one whatever they're doing though it's working really well Rogers will bring him up to the line first and 10 and he's five for six now throwing the ball on this drive now Rogers open here is Allison that's complete and he's going to be brought down just shy of the five at the six seven yds the pickup on the pitch and catch I know from past experience before you actually play a game you visualize what's going to happen and I don't know anyone who doesn't visualize themselves being in the center of what's going on that's three catches for him here in the early going he's got to like the way this is started absolutely three catches on any drive and it's intercepted at the goal line it's Chris Harris with a pick and a big turnover there as his guys will get the football back Brandon this is why golfers do their best to never count a score in their head before the ball goes in the cup this looked like a slam dunk for points on this drive didn't it instead they throw an interception and they're going to come away empty and Denver getting set to take the field they punted last time they had it what steps Charles you think they have to take to make sure they don't do that again well let's just go to the football 101 the TR expression 101 win first down make five six seven yards on first down and make it a second and three second and manageable keep accumulating first downs that way keep moving the football you don't want to get behind the sticks because then the defense has the advantage the completion good for three and it's second down I think it's okay there they didn't get a whole lot on that play but it's nice to have a safety valve that's built like this guy big Target guy you can spot pretty easily put it on him when your other targets aren't open [Applause] so that'll back him up [Applause] five on second down now it's Lindsay limited Running Room as he'll get about three to the 21 well so many times we look at a short run and we praise the offense for trying to set the tempo and establish things but the defensive guys hey they just won the battle there it wasn't a big run given up they don't always have to absorb the body blows sometimes they dish them out themselves third down Flo needs a decent chunk of yardage screen pass to Lindsay and he'll lose yardage here back to the 15 call it a loss of six on the play and that's going to bring up a fourth down well the good thing about covering any game I do with you is I know that there's no problem with rhythm now what we're watching offensively a little bit of a problem there yeah punt on the first drive looking at another one here just a little slow and you know they they were talking about a fast start but that hasn't been the case yeah and let's face it any team we cover always talks about a fast start but it's not necessarily going to happen just because they say so and whether it's the script whether it's you know just what they're going through whether they see in different defenses they're have to figure it out as this game moves on boys let's go let's go the Green Bay offense now about ready to take possession here that opening drive ended with the int it didn't lead to points but still not the way they were hoping to begin the game but how about going and telling your defense thank you a huge thank you you said didn't lead the points stalled off that drive now they've got a chance to redeem themselves and maybe reward their defense a little bit by put some points on the board on this one throwing to start the drive but that one incomplete Jimmy Graham the intended receiver and it's second down well it certainly appears that they're going to try and keep getting him the football it's the third time they've looked in his Direction unfortunately haven't completed one yet but I'm not sure they're going to shy away from him they feel like they've got something there and they want to capitalize I think you're right we're only in the first quarter so a lot of opportunities ahead and again he's going to be stopped up right at the line of scrimmage no gain on that one as it brings up a third and 10 I know the speed is the Hallmark of today's NFL game but the key to good rushing defense is still having your linebackers set the edge on the delay Jones and he's not going to sniff the first down here he stopped at the 25 give him a couple on the run as it brings up a fourth down we often talk of situational Football let's just call it team football the defense did their job got off the field brought up a puning situation so they're turning the ball back over to their offense you think those guys will get along very well right now of course they will defense help the offense now it's their turn to take it down field on is the punt team now as this one sent away fair catch called for and made right at the 25 yd line so a change of possession here on the punt and the bronos take over first down and 10 here's the Denver offense now as they get set to take over here they've had it twice they punted twice not the start they were hoping for not at all and let's face it every facility we visit everyone talks about converting on third down how big that is in this situation they've had to punt it away twice so they're furiously going over things on the sidelines what do we need to do to pick up a first down and change our momentum 18 big yards on that one and a Denver first One play has him up past the 40 already and another first and 10 no score after one on EA [Applause] Sports here's Flaco off the play fake to Lindsay and that is caught on the right sideline but out of bounds says the line judge the throw took him a little too far it's second down well there's times when you see these catches that are made and we just know the guys playing it are really wishing for college rules only need that one foot down instead of two it's awfully difficult on the sideline isn't it so second down still 10 yd to go ball on the 43 here's a throw right side taken in by his tight end and he's going to get this all the way down inside the 35 23 yds the pickup there well certainly feels like they're more stars at the tight end position than there were even 10 years ago and I think it's become more of a glamour position because of the ways it can hurt a defense and guys want to be involved they can be in line close to the line of scrimmage they can split out like receivers but hands route running speed and some toughness to go across the middle you put it all together you got heck of a tight end candidate on First and 10 it's Lindsay Mike Daniels makes the tackle not much happening there on first down I thought there might have been a hole for a split second yeah but it dried up pretty quickly didn't it closed fast the last run got three now here's second and seven Flo on the give to Lindsay and the running Lanes non-existent in this first half as they'll stop it behind the line it'll be a loss of a full three yds there and it also brings up third down part of the thinking when you bring in extra tight ends you're hoping that each of your guys gets those one-on-one blocks and creates a crease for your Runner know the converse is though you've got to win those one-on-one blocks and when you don't that's the result you end up [Applause] with the Packers bringing in an extra member of the secondary here to try for the third down stop EO from the gun it's caught by Sanders and he will be very close to a first down but I see the Clos fist to the referee and that means fourth down well it wasn't a big strike but that completion put them in really great range what do we have now fourth and inches yeah it's not more than a half a foot you know what I would do here you would always go for it I'm one of those guys so on fourth down on comes Brandon mcmanis and the field goal unit for the Broncos from the left hash this will be a 41 y the kick by mcmanis is good and the Broncos the first to Grace the scoreboard it's three Z been a bit of a dog fight thus far into the second quarter now and we do have our first points a field goal yeah a lot of people say Wow first action on the scoreboard about time to me the action's been right there on the field trying to figure out who could gain an advantage gain some field position finally get points on the board I'm loving this kind of game and feels like kickers might play a big role in this one yes make sure you give them the respect they deserve they could cost you a game or win you one after splitting the uprights mcmanis to kick it away this will be taken in at the one one and not a bad return here he gets it out to the 25 yd line and Green Bay getting ready to go as they take the field and it's been a rocky start for them thus far they had the turnover and then the punt on those first two drives so there is optimism because they've improved right turnover you just noted better pun's better than the turnover the pun is better on the second one now they're hoping to turn into first downs and hopefully points a run there on first down going nowhere as he stopped right at the 25 officially no gain on the play and it's second down and he got off the end there very quickly to make that play yeah that was almost like the bullet train wasn't it I mean just zoom quick quick quick and what a terrific play holding them to No Gain they had the run for no gain now they'll try again from the 25 on second and 10 hit from behind and he's going to be driven down credit the sack to Von Miller Brandon if I'm an offensive coordinator and I see an allout rush like that I file it away because I'm going to use their aggressiveness against them as this game goes on I'm going hit them with a screen soon Rogers now after the sack he'll lead the pack up on Third and [Applause] long working from the gun Rogers try to lay he's got him in complete and they work this well up field across the 45 it'll go as an impressive 31 yd gain for an offense that has not found the end zone yet that's a big play there's the spark right there the big play that they needed now they've got to go ahead and finish this drive and put this ball in the end [Applause] zone the big play has him all the way out near midfield for a first and 10 Rogers now to throw to Valdez scantling over the middle and they'll get him down as he's inside the 40 14 yds good for a Packer first down and he went in route there from the slot for the completion love how he runs his routes because it's all setting up your Defender give him a little something one way take it the other way Head and Shoulder fake sometimes you make one step to the outside then break it inside really well-run route this offense finding its legs now here's another first and 10 to throw it's Rogers his throw incomplete trying to get that one to his tight end and they've been trying to get the ball to him but as of yet unable to successfully complete one but you know there's usually a nice comfort zone and throw into the tight end great sight lines usually right in the middle of the field they work again from the 38 on second and 10 now Rogers throwing again he'll run it The Improv act there good for nine and now they'll be looking at a third and short third and one they brought the blitz that time and I thought they were going to get to him but instead he flipped it on its ear and ended up picking up positive yardage I thought he was dead to rights but you are exactly correct so able to turn that into a positive game they'll try and run for it with Jones and he's got the first as they'll bring him down at the 28 yd line he needed a yard that's what he got and it's going to earn him a new set of downs I think they like this drive a little bit better there partner running game helping out picking up some of the slack cuz remember the last Drive they went three and out [Applause] and they'll keep on the ground with Jones he's able to get six a nice pickup down to the 21 that's a strong pickup right there on first down and as this drive goes on we're seeing an offensive line and running game imposing its will the last run got six now second and four now they'll throw with Rogers and he finds his tight end Graham and they'll bring him down at the 13 yd line that one a first down pick up of eight when an offense reads Blitz doesn't matter where it's coming from tight ends know that they become a big part of the passing game because they should be an easy Outlet when all those extra bodies are trying to get to the quarterback a hot route so to speak into the Red Zone it's Rogers and that's complete to Adam and he's able to work it here to the 8 yd line a gain of six there on first six yds was the pickup on the last completion so here's second and four they go back to the ground with Jones so he got free of one tackle but couldn't do a a whole lot else just a yard on the pickup there and it'll leave him with a third and three well when you go from second and four to Third and three that just tells you who won that battle on the last play huh yeah first round went to the offense second round the defense the Packers on third down they've been excellent six for seven here it's third and [Applause] three now Rogers and it's caught he didn't get the touchdown but he did get the first down as he's tackled at the one the gain of five that time gives him the conversion and makes it first and goal and that one was a lot of fun right there cuz that was the game within the game third and short Blitz was on what's the key for the quarterback get out of your hands in a hurry and that was a quick little completion got the job done for a first [Applause] down so another third down conversion and now they've got a first and goal they'll try and run it in with Jones and he is going to be stopped cold behind the line of scrimmage it's a loss of a yard there and it's second down well it's been the air game that's taken him down on this drive before they finally turned around and handed it off on the last play and now they're looking for the big boys to get him in the end zone couldn't do it there it'll be interesting to see offensive lines had to pass block a lot on this drive will they be able to revert and fire out and create some space in the Run game one back in the game that's Jones second and [Music] goal he'll get it up the middle and he is met in his tracks behind the line of scrimmage he lost two there and it's third down that's a really alert defense there because they saw the heavy look come in from the offense countered it with extra linebackers who brought a little bit of speed and heft and able to really make a big time play for their defense three receivers to the left one to the right they've been stuffed twice here for losses now it's third and goal shotgun now for Rogers got a man open it's Adams touchdown Green Bay four yds on the touchdown grab and the Packers have taken the lead that was quite the call down around the goal line on Fourth and goal yeah they fake the Run pull it out throw it and as a defense I've been in that spot before and we see it all the the time you almost have to overcommit Against The Run you have to almost sell out and say they're going to run it go make a play they got fooled on that one Crosby connects on the extra point and that makes it a 73 lead that drive a long one spanning 15 plays and it ends with a Packers touchdown now after the touchdown here's Crosby to kick it away that's fielded in the end zone and he'll elect not to return this one so they'll bring it out to the 25 on the Touchback and Denver getting set to take the field and last time able to get three it's not what they wanted they wanted six but they got at least something they mustered something out of the drive they'll take it just I like the way you've described it not ideal but they'll take it anything to put some points on the board but this time on offense they want to see the field goal kicker trout on the field they want that ball in the end zone yeah they'll be going for six and the first play of the drive there is incomplete that pass just a little bit off it looked like maybe he tried to force it in there game speed always different no matter what you do in practice can't simulate it right so your decision making everything has to be a little bit quicker sometimes it can throw you off until you adjust he's going to launch this thing way downfield and this is going to wind up incomplete the coverage there too strong on the Deep ball and now they face a third down well you got a Young quarterback you know maybe that's just an example of a growing pain for him I think you're right about that because when the game starts to move fast and it moves quickly on him a lot of times they fall back on what they know best their arm he's he's slinging it on this one had a wide open Target but didn't have the proper footwork to increase his accuracy that eventually taken down here great coverage downfield the ex Iowa Hawkeye Mike Daniels in for the sack I remember when I was a kid and all I wanted was a nickel so I could get that soda down at the fountain and guess what the nickel came into play well five defensive backs they covered well allowed for the sacks sodas were a nickel when you were a kid no I just needed the extra nickel so I could pay the so I could pay the proper price okay how much were they a dime what were they uh 15 cents the Broncos send out their pter now as the drive goes backwards so he's on to putt it away he's been a busy man here in this first half as he gets it away officially that'll go as a 52 yd punt not too shabby and it'll be Packer football here first down and 10 Aon roders he's getting ready to go again here on offense he's got to be feeling pretty good playing well team has the lead so just looking amount a drive here that ends in the end zone and all quarterbacks will tell you hey we love a running game helps us out but at the end of the day they want to rely on their arm throw the football feel good about things keep things moving in the right direction right now that's exactly what we're seeing and we'll see if that continues coming up at halime in a little less than two minutes we'll to Orlando where Jonathan Coachman is standing by he'll have highlights and Analysis of this first half now this one complete downfield on the left side 14 yds good for a Packer first down well obviously Red Man covers their partner and he got downfield broke down the defender made him mean by that broke yeah he made him think he was going to run a different route probably thought he was going to take it up field then he curls back inside for the completion here's Rogers to throw and he's into the clear the 20 10 and he takes this one back into the end zone and the Bronco defense has a touchdown about that for a little jolt right before intermission talking about taking momentum into the half with you and so many teams have an emphasis on trying to score in the last two minutes of a half to carry that with them it's not often talked about scoring on defense though that's extra Mo and now they may take the lead into the locker room as well on here Brandon mcmanis for the point after and it's through and that makes the lead 107 a heck of a play there defensively getting the interception navigating his way into the end zone for the touchdown so they throw the pick six they'll get another shot at it now as this one's in the air this is fielded at the goal line and he's able to get it across the 20 but not by much as he's marked down at the 21 yd line the Green Bay offense now about ready to take possession here it was still more than minute to go in the half time to try to mount a drive and I would think that they would have to this is today's NFL you got to push it whenever you get an opportunity you can never have enough points with the high-powered offenses that you face and analytics will tell you try and score when giving the opportunity 11 yds and a Green Bay Packer first down partner it's a lot of fun watching the NFL Now isn't it because when the big fella runs routes it used to be when we were kids he'd run about three different routes and that was it now he can run anything and catch the balls we just saw [Applause] there from the 32 now here's first and 10 now it's Rogers it's caught here by Adams now the Packers going to go ahead and use the second of their timeouts as the stoppage will come with a little under a minute to go in this first half backto back good plays have them on the move on first [Applause] down shotgun now for Rogers a dump underne the Jones it's a four yd pickup and that'll bring up second down everyone's got to be able to catch the football doesn't matter what position you play but if you're on offense be aware ball may come your way the clock rolls as the Packers look to hurry things up throwing again on second down Rogers this one to the right caught by Valdez scantling and he'll be brought down at the 45 yd line now the Packers going to burn their third and final timeout as the clock will stop with 21 seconds to go here in the first half Rogers will bring him up to the line first and 10 and he's four for four now throwing the ball to start the drive now Rogers got an open man it's Valdez scantling and he is out of bounds but not before he's inside the 30 it's a gain of 16 and a first down for the green and gold and with that completion he's now north of 200 yds here in the first half boy a tough start for the secondary defensively it is and it's got to put a dent in their confidence and and you know you always want to keep that up and feel like you can always bounce back after plays but with the kind of numbers he's putting up here it's starting to wear on them a little bit I think so they're looking at each other and trying to figure out what defense will work and how can they play better without getting beat deep for big passes and the former Colorado Buffalo Crosby puts this one through and that will knock things up here late in the first half now maybe a nice psychological boost there just to get back to even with that field goal as we head towards half coaching 101 always says at halftime play it like it's z00 on the scoreboard well in this case it's level right same score each side just start over now you've got the second half to play all level now at 10 AP piece as the kicks away this is fielded at the goal line and he'll get across the 20 before he's brought down at about the 23 yd line n seconds to play likely the final snap of the first half as it's first and 10 here's Lindsay and he'll just push his way forward for a few as the clock will run so thanks to the late field goal we are all tied up heading to intermission as now we send you out to Orlando and hook back up with Jonathan Coachman for our EA Sports halime report we thought this one would be a close battle coming in and we have not been disappointed but they are all even to this point so to see if either side can pull away let's get you right back out to Brandon and Charles for the start of the second half all right coach thank you and we welcome everyone back for quarter number three and ready to get the party started for the second half it was an even first half All Tied on the scoreboard that'll be taken in the end zone and no run back here this will be a touch back and it comes out to the 25 yd line and Green Bay getting ready to go as they take the field they have a chance to break our tie here as we get a look at the first drive of quarter three and it's such a tone Setter isn't it because both sides trying to seize momentum to begin the half what do they have dialed up that'll give them an advantage to move the ball down field let's find out what they have dialed up quick hitter here it's complete he'll be dropped after a gain of about six across the 30 to the 31 [Applause] they'll come up now second and four from the 31 out of the pistol the give to Jones and he'll scratch out only about a yard up to the 32 well they're hoping that the second half is better for him than the first half they've got to find a way to get him going he's a big part of their offense a nickel set defensively for the Broncos here on third down throwing now is Rogers lets this one rip toward Graham and that's caught inside the 30 and all the way down to the 26 Rogers to his tight end Graham on a big one 43 yds well Parton I'm not sure how this drive is going to end but how about the way they flip field position there a nice attacking play they picked up a heck of a chunk of [Applause] yardage so now then the big play has him all the way inside the 30 now first and 10 from the gun it's Rogers and Grahams got it complete and taking it to the 15 yd line before he's brought down 11 yds and a Green Bay Packer first down a coach is always harp on the quarterback reading the defense and getting it to the open man that's good recognition there and how about what he did after the catch yeah hit your tight end let him get some rack yeah when he when he gets moving not many guys want to come over and put a hit on him do they here's Rogers looking in zone but it's incomplete the veteran tied end Mercedes Lewis the intended receiver but it'll be second down I'm going to need some help with this one how did he miss him wide open in the end zone he's not hurried he's not hit and somehow incomplete yeah what happened during film study that's one where he's just going to shake his head not be able to believe it six points go by the wayside on that one and he'll go down here at the 12 yd line only three yds on the catch it's third down a field goal would get him the lead but that's not what they're shooting for as they come up on third down Rogers to throw once more and tight coverage there it's knocked away incomplete I think that was a good job there defensively they did allow him to drive all the way down field but once they got their backs to the goal line they really turned up the pressure yeah they let them get all the way down here now the field shrinks they've struggled to convert and that last incompletion brings up fourth so out comes the field goal team now for the second time here today and the former Colorado Buffalo Crosby puts this one through and they will take the lead at 13- 10 they don't get a touchdown here on the opening drive of the third quarter but I think maybe you still say mission accomplished as they come away with the lead no absolutely you keep the pressure on right you go down field get some points up on the board and hope that you've motivated your defense to take the field and hold that lead after the made field goal now Crosby will do the kickoff duties this will be fielded at the six and not a bad return here he gets it out to the 25 yd line so now a look at the Broncos as they head back out there for their first possession of the second half they Trail offense first time to touch the ball in quarter three and we'll see what they can do and I can't wait to see what they have planned because some teams script to start a half other teams just go okay these are the sequence of plays we want to run these things worked well for us and sometimes they throw in that big chunk play right away try and get after him early and try and create a big play to give themselves some momentum see what they have up their sleeve this is a little bit like basball here strong up the middle both sides want to be that in this case the offense end up winning the ultimate battle and those big runs between the tackles that's a little deflating for a defense isn't it it really is because that's where your strength supposed to be you're supposed to be in a spot where they can't make that yardage there you're supposed to send them outside not in this case a big play to start him out has him at the 45 [Applause] already finding the open man and that's Tim Patrick and they went the wrong way there losing yardage back at the 43 yd line they completed the screen on the perimeter but boy that was textbook defense exactly as you're taught to play against a wide receiver screen and they snuffed it out for a loss of [Applause] yardage on second down it's Lindsay and they're going to get him behind the line yet again as his nightmare afternoon continues it's a loss of two now third down he continues to struggle to find a crease to break off a big one and might need to just put that aside and just try and RAM his way forward and get what he [Applause] can couple of plays sent him the wrong way and now they face a third and 14 from the gun Flaco he'll get this one to Patrick and he'll be out of bounds just shy of the 40 17 yds for the Broncos there as they've got themselves a first down timing is everything and they work on this cut all the time they work on all the timing patterns and this time it paid off for him worked him to the center of the field cut it to the outside Ball's delivered gets both feet down for the completion so into Packer territory now here's first and 10 at the 42 yd line now a carry for Lindsay credit him with a one yd gain there to make it second and nine tough first half for him unable to put up the numbers he's used to producing but with a guy like him you and I both know it just takes a couple of explosive Touches for him to make an impact on this game and on the stat sheet as well they'll go again with Lindsay and this has been a familiar sight all afternoon as they stop him behind the line chalk that up as a four yd loss and now it's third down unfortunately for you you've been around me for a little while now so you know me as well as anyone and how I look at a game I don't ever Advocate abandoning anything but in this case I'm going against my own thought process you got to change it up you got to start throwing it around a little bit finding ways to try and move the ball because keeping on the ground just isn't working for them yeah maybe get him the ball out of the passing game a swing pass outside or something just something to varry it up and now here's a deep shot that's complete and this is going to result in another first down as the tackle made at the packer 16 you know I'm going to lean towards the defender right you know I'm going to do that I know that's a tough situation for him as I see it but the truth of the matter is that ball was not streaking towards him had a little arc on it he's got to find a way to get his head around and make a play on the football so that one will be accepted so a little bit of a stiffer challenge now first and 15 following the delay of game Flo from the gun and that's complete to Sanders and he'll take it down here just shy of the 15 at the 16 yd line five yds on the catch there brings up second down that time they hit him out of the slot on the drag and that route takes some fortitude from the guy running it because he knows he's going through the Brier patches I like to call it right he's trying to work his way through all that traffic and people want to put a little contact on it really well done first Target First Catch and a first down I like watching the wide receiver screen CU it's a real teamwork Play Because guess what the guy catching the ball he'll get all the credit but how about the people have to block in front of him either fellow receivers or offensive linemen that makes that play a really nice timing play and sometimes it can break big they come out here in the eye they'll run here with Freeman and he will push his way forward down to about the three yd line only a yard that time second and goal good first step there defensively but they're still knocking on the doorstep so maybe another run here I think so one of my favorite coach which as you say son if you can darn near lay down near the end zone and get in give me my best power running play with my best back right now they'll try to run with Lindsay and the D not yielding much there he's only going to get a yard to about the two I have to think a major focus of the halftime me had to be figuring out how to create space for the running game to get operating well what you pointed out to me at half seems accurate that line has struggled to sustain blocks yeah I would agree with that totally they've got to focus on staying on their double teams at the first level make sure that Block's secured before they slide off and try and Chip someone at the second level and he'll take it into the end zone for a Denver score a 2yd touchdown grab and the Broncos have retaken the lead the big fell was the recipient there for that touchdown pass and it seems like more and more the tight end is the guy you have to worry about most in the passing game now mcmanis to tack on the extra point and that will make this a four-point game that one in the books as a 12pl drive and it culminates in a touchdown by the Broncos after the touchdown here's mcmanis now to kick it away that's fielded in the end zone and he'll elect not to return this one so they'll bring it out to the 25 on the Touchback now the Packers get set to go and they had three points last time but they didn't want three points because they were well within range of scoring a touchdown we'll see if they can do better now I'm with you on that one let's just go ahead and be frank about the whole thing the only one happy about the three-pointer kicker exactly he put it through the post that's going to help him in contract time but that offense they're thinking let's get in the end zone this time I don't know if that help him the contract time you you could have kicked that one through I don't know about toe I don't know about that super toe to win any route you've got to break down the defender and that's exactly what happened here on this really nicely executed curl [Applause] route Rogers now nearing the 300 yd Mark with still a quarter to play it's first and 10 working from the gun Rogers going right side here and that's complete give him a couple on the catch it's second and eight so second and eight here after the pass play for two yds on first down out of the shotgun it's Jones and three yds there takes him to the 45 and that's one other reason you like the blitz even on run Downs it confuses the blocking assignments and doesn't allow those offensive linemen to get up to the second level now whistles here flag down I think one of the Packer linemen was moving big play coming up here's third and 10 I would expect to see some pressure here the pressure drops off as they'll look to throw and that'll wind up incomplete bold play call there now it's fourth down you can tell they were hoping for a flag there offensively several on the sideline motioning hey why not a penalty why not a penalty I what did you see yeah I think You' got to let them play and the officials are instructed if there's contact coming from both sides no flag Let them fight it out and forces fourth down here's JK Scott now as he'll putt it away for the second time and a great job here this is going to turn out to be a beauty this is marked down at about the three yd line that is how you flip field position that's an absolute bomb of a punt Downs it inside the fou Y Line absolutely ideal from that position you're hoping to get it down inside the 15 inside the five superb now Joe Flaco and the offense heading back out onto the field how do you break down his game so far just the one touchdown pass but sometimes the touchdown pass stat category that doesn't tell the whole story it really doesn't not until you balance it with the error side you know and in this case he hasn't thrown any interceptions so a lot of people would call this almost a pedestrian game kind of a bus driver game but that's just really wrong being a bus driver is a good thing if you're running a football team because that means you're in control and you're taking your team to the right places yeah he's been pretty solid they run it with janovic the fullback and he's going to be met at the line of scrimmage and taken down call it no gain on the run there and now they'll be looking at a third down let go ahead and detail this situation here third and long coming up back near your own goal line I would be very very hesitant about throwing the football in this situation maybe just run run up the middle yeah I think that that might be the spot for them you got to try and find some space for your punter because you don't want him backed up where he has to alter what he does he's got his big tight end fan and he's brought down but not before they get it across the 20 yd line solid gain of 18 yds and a Denver first down not too many teams that use a first round pick on a tight end so you know that when one does he's got to be pretty PR darn special a small example of why they took him in the first round there nice little catch and run to get the good yardage now they can breathe a little easier some room to operate as they've got it first and 10 now out past the 20 and as they come to the line they will not be able to get off another play as time has run out on this third quar we'll return with more after this this is the NFL and it's on EA [Applause] Sports they'll run on first down Lindsay and I think this defense knew what was coming as he is smothered behind the line calling a loss of two on the play and that'll make it second and 12 he has just been completely taken out of this game we're in the fourth quarter he singled digits in the rushing department and I know we look at him because the numbers do go to his production but how about the guys blocking for him they don't just have his number as a ball carrier they've got the number of the offensive line and the other guys because they're getting to him before he can get started he's com's another run by Lindsay and his rough afternoon continues he's going nowhere again maybe a gain of a yard that time but yeah from the spot actually no gain so third and long the Broncos on third down they're at 50% four for eight this is third down and 12 operating out of the gun Flo and that'll be incomplete well they took their shot all right but it comes up empty and it's Fourth Down critical play in this football game because if they pick up the first there that clock keeps rolling has to be a little frustrating for them because they know that if they pick up a first down there and continue to eat away at the clock really increases their chances of closing this one out now they're likely going to have to give the football up and sweat it out on the [Applause] sideline so they're forced to punt on Fourth as this one's away that'll be put in the books as a 53 yd Punt and possession will switch hands first and 10 the Green Bay offense now about ready to take possession here and hoping to do better than they did their last possession when they punted the football appeal to theity of your offensive line tell them that they control your fate leverage guys win the line of scrimmage if you do that you start to win first down you win second down and guess what you start accumulating first downs and that's what they need in order to not punt the ball again seven yards the pickup on the pitch and catch they'll operate from the 32 yd line here second and three to throw is Rogers the connection made it's Graham and he'll be brought down shy of the 40 at the 38 yd line six yds the pickup and that's a first down that's a staple of this offense drag route to the tight end yeah he was unable to use his size to break off much more yardage after the catch but still an effective gain nonetheless so here's a first and 10 at the 38 now Rogers and he finds his time INR and he'll be taken down but not before he gets into enemy territory give him 15 there and the Packers have a first when we see another great performance like this out of Aaron roders you have to chuckle thinking that his only FBS offer was a walk on at Illinois and now he's the pride of but junor College of course at Cal and I remember watching him play at Cal and he would run seven on seven drills angry if the ball ever hit the ground and it didn't do it very often show a first and 10 now in Denver territory at the 47 Rogers again now got a man that's Allison and past the 35 he'll be dropped a yard or two shy of the 30 give him 15 there and the Packers have a first it is hard in zone coverage to stop a curl route because when they see it they just try and find the open spot and sit down yeah we always talk about finding the soft spot in the zone what's the key to doing that how do you do it you have to read what the coverage is is it two deep is it three deep because then you know where the linebackers are going to drop what spots on the field they naturally get to and you find that open space and then you're in sync with your quarterback he should be reading the exact same thing and they put the ball right on you Rogers will bring him up to the line first and 10 and he's four for four now throwing the ball to start the drive again they'll throw with Rogers to Valdez scantling over the middle and he'll go down at the 26 following a gain of six a gain of six there on first good throw good catch but I really like the route the drag and being able to run away from Defenders hard to stick with them for that long yeah better against man than zone or better against man because now you're running away from someone and you're not running into a defensive player in another Zone Rogers On Target here to Allison and they'll be inside the 25 now at the 24 [Music] on third down here's Jones and he is going to lose yardage here fourth down now after a loss of two seems pretty obvious defensively a Kei was stopping the Run game how have they done it so successfully to me it seems that these guys really did a nice job of paying attention during The Scouting Report meeting and you know Brandon when they do those they talk about the top plays that these guys like to run the best runs for the top running back those are the ones you focus on and want to take away and they've done that pretty successfully in this game one score down here we go they're going to go for it here on fourth down to throw it's Rogers he's got his man Valdez scantling give him 10 there good enough for a Packer first down fourth down trailing in the fourth quarter they felt compelled to go for it and they got it well I'd look down at my play sheet and what I would find plays have been successful throughout the game that have worked at the distance you need that's exactly what they got done into the Red Zone it's Rogers and he's got his favorite Target yet again it's complete he's down inside the 10 to the eight and it comes on a gain of eight a good pickup there eight yds on the first down [Applause] completion facing a second and two after that last catch good for eight yards Rogers going to throw and he's going to take it in touchdown Packers from eight yds out and the Packers have retaken the lead [Applause] now an important extra point here to stretch this lead to a field goal he's got it and this is indeed up to a three-point lead so that one a pretty timec consuming 10-play drive and the result a Green Bay score [Applause] now after the touchdown here's Crosby to kick it away this is fielded a couple yards deep and all that worked but he stopped where he ultimately would have been and he simply taken a knee and that's the 25 yd line here's the Denver offense now as they get set to take over here and last time out they had to punt the football away anything positive possibly to take from that there always is when when you're punting the football away it doesn't sound like it because you're giving it up but you've avoided mistake at least you didn't turn it over you didn't turn it over right you're giving it giving your defense a chance because you're punting the ball away and they're set to go on the field as opposed to Sudden Change after a turnover and wow now we got to go out there and stop people so yeah there's always something positive to be gain from it an incomplete pass leads to Second and 10 from the 25 now Flaco this one complete to the running back Lindsay they'll give him eight on the play and just like that it's third down the Broncos on third down not quite 50% four for nine here it's third and two they'll try and run for it with Lindsay breaks the tackle he's got room to run there he goes left side and all the way home for a Broncos score Philip Lindsay 66 yards as his guys are able to regain the lead so minutes after giving up the lead in the fourth quarter they say not so fast big play and they grab that lead right back talk about a seesaw game up down up down did you have a seesaw did you play that when you were kid oh yeah huh out on the playground absolutely you had to make sure that you matched weight though on the other side though right otherwise you could be up in the air a long time by the way we're not done in this one I think we're set up for an exciting finish extra point from mcmanis is good and that will make this a four-point game the drive there only spanning three plays and it was capped off by a Philip Lindsay touchdown run he after the touchdown here's mcmanis now to kick it away this is fielded at the goal line and he'll get it up past the 20 to the 22 yd line and Green Bay getting ready to go as they take the field and for them a touchdown their last go round obviously they'll be hoping to do that again and when you start plotting for this drive when you start thinking to yourself okay what are we going to do do you don't go away from what you did before because that worked but you have to be prepared for wrinkles and counters because you know they'll make some adjustments they'll start out on the ground with Jones and he'll wind up losing yardage here back at the 21 yd line it'll be a loss of a yard and it'll be second and 11 and yet again this run game just continues to be completely shut off completely styed I they're trying to get some consistency trying to find places to roam they just haven't been there throughout this game after the loss to start out here's second and 11 shotgun now for Rogers gets this to his running back Aaron Jones it's a gain of five on the play and that's going to lead to a third down 31 throwing is Rogers on third down got an open man it's Valdez scantling and they'll get it up just short of the 45 at the 44 that'll put him over 150 yds receiving now quite a ball game and a first down and that last reception puts him over 150 yards now on the game Charles and now it's not just execution it's not just performance it's a mental aspect that's going on because right now he has got the defense so much on their heels got them looking at each other who's going to cover this guy and what type of coverage can we put out there to try and slow him down on First and 10 here's Rogers open on the left side this is Valdez gantley six yds was the pickup on the last completion so here's second and four from Midfield here's Rogers open here is Allison that's complete and this time he's able to take it down to the 42 that one a first down pickup of [Applause] eight Rogers will bring him up to the line first and 10 and he's four for four now throwing the ball to start the drive Rogers to throw once more and a quick throw here that's complete that'll be a up of four as they work with this four-point fourth quarter lead four yards on that last completion so that sets up second and six and again it's Rogers and that going to be incomplete a lot of contact no call and it's third third down it's easy to see when we review this that the ball needs to come out quicker because if you don't throw it right on the break you bring a crowd of people into the equation and that's why it got knocked away there one of the bigger plays in the game thus far the crowd getting into it as we come up on a big third down from the gun it's Rogers drops it to Jones in the flag well this is going to depend on the spot but it's not a very generous one he looks to be about a yard or so short so it's Packer football here as we welcome you back and let's see what they've come up with offensively after having time to talk it over Rogers going to go on fourth down and that is incomp complete complete they had to go for it with such little time remaining and the Broncos will take over on Downs Joe Flo and Company heading back out onto the field and after the slow start the numbers show he has really straightened things out how often sometimes is that that you come into a game and the defense's game planned a little differently than you expected more often than maybe people realize so adjustments are often a big part of each and every game and it's not just getting to halftime it's series to series to make it work and being able to hang in there when there's a little adversity early and see them able to flip it around it's kind of gratifying for a team to watch especially for a coach the last run got a couple here's second and eight how about this Flaco setting to throw it he's got his big tight end F that one going for a gain of 11 and a Bronco first down well they got the yardage they needed there picked up the first down got out out of bounds how about the urgency that they have as well as the understand where they are in the field not totally Home Free yet but it's looking good as they come up first and 10 here's Freeman and he'll lose yardage here back at the 41 now the Packers going to go ahead and use the second of their timeouts as they'll talk things over prior to this upcoming second down play second and long but you got to figure this almost certainly another run on second down a run with Lindsay and he's going to have to protect the football and take his lumps here at this stage of the game as they stop him behind the line [Music] first and second down were a disaster both went backwards now it's third and 18 they need something big Flo to throw well the two men come together and it's incomplete excellent work defensively brings up fourth down you get a tight end like this and you know he's used to dishing out punishment but here he's one that has to absorb the contact and as a result unable to hold on to the football the Broncos send out their pter now he's been terrific so far and he deserves a bronze leg as he gets this one away and a great job on special teams to doubt it as this will be marked out inside the 5 yd line you need to get the ball away here in the fourth quarter while you're just holding a slim lead but that punt absolutely ideal they pin him inside the 5 yd line they give their defense a really nice opportunity so now Rogers in the pack down 2420 less than 90 seconds to go they've got to take this pig skin a full 96 yards and a field goal won't help they run on first down but it only produces a gain of two it's second down now Tackle by Bradley chub the number five pick in the 2018 draft no time out you got to go quick here Rogers in control as he hurries his guys to the line he'll look to throw and his throw is going to be incomplete third and long coming up defensively you pressure the quarterback or drap ball over the passing Lane yes that's exactly what you do it's both because they're not mutually exclusive they may have been at one time in football but not anymore you want to have that pressure and if you have a big time pass rusher send him after the quarterback and then make sure you blanket the field back to throw and able to find grab complete and he takes this just about a yard shy of the 20 13 yds first down Packers I like what they did there still keeping their tight ends involved they understand it's not quite Hail Mary time just yet first down now but the clock continues to move they'll look to throw throwing left side here and it's complete and he's got it past the 30 before he's hit and dropped it's a gain of 12 and the Packers have the first and now he's closing in on 450 yd passing that's an incredible number I mean you're talking about the best defenders in the world that you're trying to throw the ball against and you're creating that type of a number fantastic job fantastic performance and he's going to have to ice up his arm afterwards too let's go baby let's go well going into the final play of this game they knew that they needed some type of a miracle there at the very end but they couldn't get it done however we were treated to really a spectacular Affair even though they didn't finish it off you're exactly right they took us down to the last play We Still you're wondering could it happen possibly even though we both knew it was a long [Applause] shot so that'll just about do it for Charles Davis I'm Brandon Garden you've been watching the NFL on EA Sports for more log on to easports.com the Broncos are winners as we say so long from Denver [Applause] [Applause]
