is unranked battle coming up here and you know how chaos can ensue if they start smelling an upset as we'll see a squad from the AC the UCF Knights taking on the sixth ranked team in the land the Alabama Crimson Tide for EA Sports college football ree Davis with you alongside David Pollock and Jesse Palmer time to get this game started [Applause] Alabama about to kick off to get this game underway on the run from inside his own five and the returner goes down the knights return team will have that offense backed up and here's the man they rally around and he has earned that type of respect D you dang right you earn it by doing it and he's done it at such a high level everyone believes in this young man in Palmer there's a reason why you're right David he's been in the big moments and he's won the big games this guy delivers when the game is on the line they'll give it to the back nudges ahead for one out to the 16 these two conferences largely share the same Geographic footprint the ACC loves it when they can take down a team from the SEC and we see these two conferences play each other other often times early in the season late in the season David think about Clemson South Carolina Florida Florida State these players have a lot of familiarity with one another and this already matters so much to these kids because they grew up in the same area and the all the way back at the five the knights send out the punt unit well the defense has the opponent backed up in their own end and they are pinning their ears back getting after the quarterback you see the athleticism and the speed they have up front as they're able to notch that sack and the coverage team able to wrestle him down so Alabama's offense will try to get something started with their first possession as we take a look at our impact players for this game David what do you look for to make an impact from your leaders your leaders not only have to lead the football team but they got to step up and make plays on the field keep everybody calm these guys typically do a really good job of them yeah David and they also generally set the tone for respective football teams regardless of which side of the ball they play on the teammates look towards them to step up in big games like this the running back didn't get much there nice job by the defense you can tell they're focused in on this running back on this run game being physical getting knock backs and limiting his carries catch in the middle it's Jefferson brought down to the ground but he has enough for the first down well these wide receivers work the middle of the field so much of this fi understanding where the holes are in the zone or understanding how to get leverage on a man and these wide receivers are dangerous nowadays because they do it so got it they will score touchdown Crimson TI really nice job working the route and getting himself open he was able to locate the football snag it out of the air and this guy now has five receiving touchdowns on the year about to kick it away after scoring the touchdown and the extra point was good to finish things off he'll start the return inside his SP he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 now the UCF offense ready to go back to work boy three and out last time David they'd like to be more productive this time around and it's on the ground oh and the defense jumps on it they get that [Applause] turn to be a long day more carries and show the coaching staff and when you do you fumble on the first Carry you're not going to get many more opportunities either dropping back it's Simpson looking down the middle they get him stopped at the two but it'll be first and goal and I love that play call there's a great example of Sudden Change situation right your defense gets the turnover you get it right back the very first play Let's be aggressive let's take a shot and see if we can catch the defense napping boy oh boy did that ever work out great he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a l of three after getting knocked back it's second and goal from the four calls his own [Applause] number they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one the whole point of running the quarterback on these designed runs is to get an extra blocker you should be getting more movement up front time guys were getting knocked backwards and as a result they actually lost a can't make the connection on third down thanks to that tough hard noosed pass defense and now it's fourth down and they're going to head out the line up for a field goal field goal is good and that will extend their lead even further after that last field goal Drive they're set to kick it away and they desperately wanted to attempt a return but decided not to instead they'll take the [Applause] Touchback the offense set for a first down play give to the running back they make the Stop and that will likely bring us to the end of the first quarter so Alabama takes the lead into the quarter break man that was an impressive and dominant first quarter let's take a look at the stats before we move on didn't get much on first down it's second and nine Brown will throw it unloads to the right fires into traffic intercepted and they'll drag him down after a good return on the interception the safties are usually the back the defense they're getting everybody lined up they're coming down in the box and making big tackles but they also do a great job in the back end with their coverage all right BP I'm try all starts and ends with them and you saw great effort on [Applause] their they'll go right back to it oh and he does a really nice job finding space and making a good gain before the stop is made boy they' love to move the sticks here and take a shot at it on first and goal on Third and short the power run here and he's a real Nowhere Man tackled in this no gain land it's fourth down and they'll try the field goal he splits the the upright and puts three on the board and now the leads exended so after putting three on the board the kickoff team is out there ready to boot it away he'll bring it back from inside to SP good job by the coverage unit to put a stop to that return UCF has it once again what do you think about that mistakes are going to happen as they did on that last on a drive David but Chip Shot field goals can leave you a little and I think it's great to get points but the great teams get touchdowns in the red area you got to get out there this time and execute a little better on this drive you're absolutely right David generally the best Red Zone offenses are the ones that run the ball the best so let's see if they can be a little bit more physical after obvious in the first half and so this first drive you want to continue that you want to see good decision making you want to see him playing on time and as always delivering the football I mean I don't know how I don't give him a football it's the reason I built the lead he's the guy that I can trust this offense is built around him so I expect more of the same here in the second half a quick tackle bab but he's got plenty for the first down a new set of downs after the completion G to the back and how about the efficiency on that one it'll bring up second and four I think one of the hardest things to do is s to the r when it's not work but it's Those runs right there reason why you have to do it right you can't get two why you just standing there [ __ ] bit time Alabama Rolling quickly down field set up with another first down looking for a gap it's Hayes just a solid stop by this sophomore small gain I know but again the defense knows he's going to run the football he's willing to run the football not just drop back and pass make him on to the Run game you got to do a lot of this grab in the middle every and he'll be taken down but he does have enough for the first down here's this off with set of [Applause] downs open of the 25 and he's brought down after a nice game theones to the line with the first and 10 trying to run it's Hayes and this one will be stopped for no gain great job of contained by this defense and in order to do that the end man on the line of scrimmage defensively has got to be able to set the point and force the football back into traffic that's exactly what happened here defense is there to make the stop but he's got the first down and they'll have it first and goal with the six as they get set to snap it just about to reach the end of the quarter they'll run it on first and goal relentless R gets it down to the four so Alabama takes the lead into the quarter break three quarters are in the book time becomes a factor both trying to hold the lead or cut into it as we take a look at the steps they'll give it another shot on second and goal from the flo wide receiver now comes in motion quick pass on the Fly motion touchdown timee and they add six more to the board but that trip to the house that'll give them a little more breathing room as they try to push this winning streak to five there's no mercy Ru in college football man theyve got a huge lead here in the fourth quarter they are still chucking it and they are still scoring here he comes from inside his own five didn't find increase in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 now the UCF offense ready to go back to work they're going to have to be more aggressive in this drive you can't expect to win this one David kicking field goals no especially when you're trailing you got to have a little more urgency and maybe a little more aggressiveness Jesse and field goals are not going to get it done down the stretch yeah you're going to have to take some shots no doubt bottom line when plays present themselves you've just simply got to make it perfect play call for that big gain to open the drive now here they come on First and 10 that's caught it's Townson they make the stop after the catch and still some work to do to pick up that first down quarterback empties his back field looking to throw on second down got away from trouble and got rid of it short throw to the sideline complete and he'll pick up the first down just inside the 40 yd line it's first and 10 from the 39 he'll just keep flinging it deep shot for the end zone and good coverage there to knock it away and deny the score and that's just the kind of game it's been for this quarterback in this offense you got a great game plan all week long you're watching it throughout practice you think you're going to have a chance to light up the scoreboard but they're just not able to hook up you got to give this defense coverage they've been breaking on passes they've had their number and that's why they're leading by as much as they are this drive was clicking along but a of misfires threatening to stall out on Third and 10 fires to the wide out got his brought down just outside the Red Zone he moves the change it's at the 22 and they just want to give this guy a chance to make a play on third down and more times than not he is going to deliver he's so good so efficient such a good route Runner got the speed got the complete game so you definitely want to highlight it and especially on those Downs that matter the most if something's not open Qui underneath find them they'll make those contested catches after missing the connection last time it's second and 10 from the 22 Brown wants to pass getting some and the rush will get to him at the 25 well the problem for this offense now late in the game trailing by a bunch of points is that the defense knows they're going to throw the football and right now offensively they cannot protect the edge you saw the speed coming from the outside to get to the quarterback oh my God this defense is bringing the heat another sack coach has no choice here the offense has to stay on the field down multiple possessions this late fourth down attempt coming he'll try to throw and pick up the first down and he sacked a big play on fourth down to stop this drive that play never had a chance on fourth down you're trying to catch the defense off guard for it but no protection quarterback didn't have an opportunity to step up and get rid of that football give the defense credit man tremendous aggression there on four he was not foed on that one you know a lot of times you want to buy space and you throw this route really when it's off coverage but you could tell the quarterback was up ready to come pounce on that screen and get the tackle for an all they'll run the ball the clock is on their side good pick up on the ground and they'll Mark him down down at the 39 it's going to be important this offensive line is able to get a little bit of push just kind of give this guy an inch a little crease and he can make yards for it might as well stick with him they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one quick timeout called by the defense stopping the clock to save as much time as possible for their offense looks as if the tide will punt it away they'll have to punt for the first time this afternoon first one's on its way the leg ought to be strong only called on twice in the victory last week and he's going to get it up to about the 29 yd line before he's brought down UCF has it once again what do you think about that it has been a rather forgettable day that's finally coming to a close David yeah it's been an awful day I mean just not not functioning well on offense defense giv up a lot of points this is a day Palmer they'll like to forget yeah you're going to find out a lot about their character right now oh what a grab by the defense going the other way and he's got room and they p in on him after a good return on the interception great spot to start this drive for the offense On The Run it's hes not much working there it'll be second and nine timeout called there by the defense Des to get the ball back and save as much time as possible give to the running back nice move to keep running and he slid through that attempt and he's got room defense uses a timeout quickly trying to get that ball back and preserve time for their offense the quarterback takes a snap and takes a knee you know there's no real reason to panic but if you think about it when is panicking every really but certainly this was a bit disappointing out if you can
