8 RBs Your Fantasy League Has Completely Wrong

2024 Fantasy Redraft ADPs Gone Wrong - RB Edition today the seven worst running back selections being made in your home League drafts right now 4 for four has this amazing tool that pulls together the average draft position from ESPN from CBS NFL and Yahoo so we took that found the most overrated running backs underrated running backs we're going to tell you why and Josh and I have just compiled our rankings just this morning so everything's is completely up to date before preseason you know absolutely annihilates these rankings but we'll come back next week with updates uh to this you know this show when we put let's say our opinions on the table and then watch all 16 preseason games this weekend who plays who doesn't who looks good who doesn't and then have our running back rankings Refresh on Mondays then wide receivers tight ends quarterbacks basically on Tuesdays that means you all need to subscribe to the channel because while we are sharing our rankings our thoughts right now we're not above changing our opinions and changing our rankings along the way because I think preseason and month August that's what it's all about yeah definitely so and for today's episode we made sure to like not pick players that are immediately going to change like these are probably going to last for the next month you know maybe just maybe again hit that subscribe button the thumbs up as well uh so you can join us on this month to win your League this season I said that we are going to compare our rankings to this composite ranking uh there's also an Avenue where hey and I vastly disagree on some of Kenneth Walker these players and in fact our first player has all three of those it is Kenneth Walker of the Seattle Seahawks the consensus rankings have him as running back 17 he's my running back 13 and he's Hayden running back 21 so again we hit all three points here this is a big update for me over the last few days Hayden I mean at some point to me the drum beat gets too loud to ignore what have you seen out of Ken Walker and how would you describe his game man um I think Ken Grows every day I think he gets better every single day uh I think the sky is a limit for him I think he's a really really talented powerful back that's that's a true like thre Tool Guy like he's going to be able to run the ball every run you got he's going to be able to catch the football he's going to be able to pass protect and I think he's growing you know he was a natural Runner he knew what to do with the ball in his hand and now you know is intelligent in the in the pass protection scheme um he works really hard at it man I think he's getting a lot better and he's electric out of the back field as a pass catcher you and I are big fans of new offensive coordinator Ryan grub coming from the Washington Huskies and everything he did with Michael pinx and romad dun and so on and so forth recently the words that is that are coming out of his mouth yeah I can't ignore it anymore quote a really talented powerful back quote a three- Tool Guy quote can run the ball every run you got he's going to be able to be a pass protector as well quote he's electric out of the backfield as a pass catcher I know we just had our buddy the great JJ zachar on the show who we both love and he tried to take like a big old dump on Kenneth Walker this year when hyping up Zack sharpet is Walker not a pretty standard he would destroy practice kind of running back but I'm here to say man Kenneth Walker is one of the most electric runners in the NFL we can agree on that and I believe he shown way more as a pass catcher than many in the industry wanted to give him credit for heading into his rookie season and so I'm in here as the running back 13 and a guy that I think could shock people with the workload that he gets and how explosive he can be in the most explosive offense he's probably been attached to in the NFL I absolutely love Kenneth Walker I just think that sharan is going to be in the mix a little bit but this is one where if I'm wrong I'm going to be very very wrong so I haven't really heard like the true upside case aside from the one that you're just laying out here uh that often so it is pretty interesting that that you're taking this right now I'm not sure if we're going to learn that much in preseason we'll see how much they actually use Kenneth Walker and Zack shonet but just of a last year and this is where I'm I'm a little bit lower than consensus from week eight on that was after Zack shonet's post by rookie bump he had a game where he missed some time uh Kenneth Walker had 10.6 half PPR points per game which would have been like running back 30 over the entire course of the Year 9.6 expected points uh that would have been running back 38 it's not going to be that bad because Seattle like I keep mentioning dead last in plays the defense should be better the offensive line will hopefully be better the coordinator should be better uh everything should just look better this year so I'm not expecting him to look that bad but the starting point is a little bit lower in terms of usage if this is truly a committee approach now your argument is it's not going to be a committee approach because because I have ears yeah because because you're listening and you're taking uh the words uh for what they're worth so I think that's gonna be the hard part I'm leaning towards like Zack sharan proved too much as a rookie to like completely evaporate uh his skill set because I do think that he was a pretty good pick in second a second round pick like it's hard to like just be like n not going to happen anymore so I think that's the the bummer here is that we have Zack shanet who I really like Kenneth Walker who I like even more than Zack shanet and I wish that the Seattle Seahawks didn't Draft Zack shanet because we would have been ranking them both as top 20 guys we're massive fans of both this is not like an anti Zack shbnet take and again I think there's a positive exercise to be had to rank backup running backs across the league that if one guy goes down if you have that running back handcuff how much of the workload is he going to inherit how good can he be Zack Chet ranks in the top five maybe even top three of that list across the league you mentioned that you're not sure how much we could learn from this from the preseason okay if Kenneth Walker doesn't play in the preseason at all and Zack sharan's out there playing entire quarters or two quarters that's a pretty significant gap between the two because again I know it's a totally new coaching staff on this team but to me it was notable that in games we Kenneth Walker played last year Zack sharpet never had 10 or more touches in a single game you know and totally understand that when Zack sharet scores a touchdown he averages many more points than when he doesn't that's like around eight points in a single contest but man like I totally get offensive line concerns here I also think that if we have those offensive line concerns the more explosive High variance electric big play back is going to be more beneficial to you than a Zack shanet style of ball carrier and I'll also say you and I adore and underrate I believe the the the public is underrating this passing game so if the offensive line is that bad we're also being wrong in that department too yeah I think they're going to the coordinator is going to just relentlessly pass the ball now maybe you can read that and it sounds like this is what you're doing is maybe they might pass the ball to Kenneth Walker which would be the change and that's been like the big difference between how I evaluate him as an NFL Runner versus where he has been in fantasy which has been a boom bust rb2 and then down the stretch more of an rb3 last year so uh I hope that you're right on this one because Kenneth Walker getting like real touches and some some opportunity to work out in Space the dude could absolutely go blastoff um so I don't think that Zack Shan is going to have any Standalone value here I just think that Zack Shan is a good contingent based upside play because he would be the bcow but the same thing's true if if Zack sharan miss his time all of a sudden Kenneth Walker is the bcow and I think he's got enough talent to to pay off so maybe I need to move him up a little bit and granted we are going from Pete Carrol last year who was effusive in his praise for every single player and I'm not just taking that one Brian grub press conference I'm also looking at you know what Mike McDonald says in the microphone when he says when every talk to the running backs coach it's about Kenneth Walker or when a national Insider like Albert Breer goes team it's oh they believe Kenneth Walker can be a three down player and then quote and shbnet gives them some depth behind him and then we also look at again different coaching staff but same front office that Kenneth Walker owned this team's market share inside the five yard line in carries last year at 76% that's the third highest Mark in the league they just didn't have that many carries inside the five and inside the 10 yard line again I believe Mike McDonald's a huge addition on the defense side of the ball and to elevate that side but I also think that people just aren't aware and I can be wrong on this how good Ryan grub is going to make this offense yep kth Walker catches 15 20 more passes this year I think that it's a win you and I are both higher than this De'Von Achane consensus ranking on Devon Anan Miami Dolphins running back Yahoo ESPN CBS NFL put those together he is there running back 11 he is our running back eight why since 2018 there's been 533 qualifying running backs in my fantasy points OV expected model hans's rookie season was the best of that so first out of 533 we're talking about a complete Game breaker here and all we have to do here is get him some more touches and all reports out of training camp and this entire offseason has said that Devon H is going to get the ball a little bit more even if we do chop off some of his efficiency so like last year 5.4 uh points overe expected per game let's say we drop that down to three something like that which is like the highend for for most of the elite guys he would still be the running back 14 on that really weak volume I think the volume's going to come up I think he's goingon to start stealing some of Raheem Mo's 20 goal line touchdowns from last year and there's a chance that he goes completely to the Moon I think how I'm going to compare him to is like a mini mini version of Alvin chra now Alvin chimra is one of these guys that can average 22 fantasy points per game I'm not sure if H's going to do quite that just because there are other guys in the mix there's more of a committee approach he's not as big as Alvin chra is and it's hard to be as good as Alvin CA but mini Alvin chimra is definitely worth an upside shot in the second round especially when you look around the league there's not that many bcow anymore it's not like you're plotting in Devon hen in 2010 when there was 15 guys getting 75% of the snaps there's not that many guys to compete with so I do think that these efficiency options become a little bit more appealing in 2024 just based off how the NFL uses the position I also think from a draft strategical perspective the second and third rounds are pretty murky when we get to them definely I know here overall Devon Anan is being drafted as the 26th overall player on some platforms that's after two tight ends on some platforms that's after the likes of you know Chris alve even Mike Evans yeah Drake London Marvin Harrison Jr like if we are shooting for upside which we'll get to in a moment but for shooting for upside Devon Anan is one of these few players that you can look back on in December and January and said that he painted the picture of what the fantasy football season was and fantasy football seasons Half Point PPR fullo PPR standard scoring are defined by guys who score 20 points per game at the running back position we only had two last year we had five a few years ago with how many great running back talents are now attached to awesome offenses I would expect that number to drive up from the two that we got last year and just from what hn is in even if you know we don't get his ridiculous 7.8 yards per carryer or whatever it was and we get an extra three or four or five touches per game those cancel out I'm not gonna sit here and do the math but he's the type of talent and the type of environment that is projected for the fourth most points in the League this year but I put my hands in the air and say hey this is a guy that can just qualify for you for the playoffs or win your fantasy football championship you know he has upside when on Underdog nobody wants to draft running backs but his Underdog ADP is higher than what it is in this redraft composite score maybe like the only running back that you can say that about uh so that's that's the type of upside that we're talking about with him so I think he's gonna catch the ball a couple more times per game and I think that's going to be the difference and maybe that from the rookie year they didn't want to trust TR them in some passing situations and maybe that's the difference he puts on a little bit more weight understands protections a little bit more they have more faith in what he can do out in space and is running track in the offseason yeah all those things and all of a sudden now we can get him the ball uh where he catches 60 70 80 passes in a season rather than last year where he was kind of just like it was a little mix and match of that where I do think this can become a little bit more of a foundation uh setup and him catching passes out there I mean he he will score 50 yard touchdowns again no problem a couple weeks ago recorded an episode with Ron Stewart and something that he brought up in that video was that the six best rookie running backs in fantasy points overe expected since the 2009 season all of those guys hit 20 plus fantasy points per game in their second season that list is Alvin chimra eeko Elliott Arian Foster Kareem hunt David Johnson Jonathan Taylor and you can add Devon aan to that list now is Devon aan a different build than let's say Alvin CRA eeko Elliott David Johnson all these guys yes but guess what the Dolphins running game is built different than any of the others that those guys were in they they turn carries into kick returns you know and we already got the running back four points per game season on top of that so we had this great comment and we read a lot of them from Dr Pon Pizza on our on our wide receiver show just like this and his comment was I have a hard time watching Underdog creators talk about home leagues because they valued upside a little unrealistically playing in a tournament with a 100,000 people is too different than with five of your buddies I could not disagree more okay when you think about what your home League Draft looked like from a roster standpoint to what it looked like at the start of the playoffs at the end of the playoffs sometimes you only have four five six of the same guys you can actually swallow more zeros more busts in redraft in your home leagues than you can in baseball what you're looking for is foundational pieces that are the ones that have high playoff qualification rates that have high Championship rates the ones that go from the running back 10 to the running back three overall not this I need a small win from the running back 29 to the running back 26 that feels all nice warm and fuzzy that doesn't do anything for you take these big swings take these big shots because you can turn your roster when it doesn't work and you can't do that in basketball yeah think about it if you're in a 12 person redraft League a lot of those League setups six people make the playoffs like you get first and second have buys six people make the playoffs you can afford to whiff on a player or just shoot for the moon and someone like Devon aan misses a couple games early on you can survive that more in your redraft league than in baseball where only two of the top 12 teams advance so I like taking on some risk and I like taking some of these running backs a little bit earlier in redraft but I I'll save that take for the very Travis Etienne end okay let's get negative next up is Jaguar's running back Travis eten this composite ranking has him as running back nine from these four home League platforms uh and he's our running back 12 so not a massive difference Hayden and I quickly just want to say I can totally whiff here I definitely did with Travis etan last year underrated the season that he could have had uh especially when he went to have 1400 yards for a second straight year uh and jumped his touchdowns from 5 to 12 uh but I would love to get your take on why you're not quite as high as Travis eten on the market well in terms of overall he goes top 21 in all four of those redraft sites and I just think that's too early uh because there could be a couple changes to this number one he scored 3.2 touchdowns over his usage last season so he ran a little bit hot on touchdowns maybe that regresses a little bit because he was really bad actually the year before that so that's goes to show why regression works and why we always talk about it but the other thing is his efficiency just really tanked late in the year he was used a ton which is why he's ranked so high but you're going to call me crazy here and I'm not the one writing these reports I'm not at training camp but apparently out in Jacksonville tank bsby is like the MVP out there don't shoot the messenger on this one but I think that the more realistic John Shipley is the messenger he's been on the show we're we're big fans of John Chipley and he he's a he's a great messenger so don't don't go shoot him either tank bsby I think there's a chance that he just plays a little bit more and if it's not tank bsby somebody else I'm not sure if Jacksonville wants Travis etn to get the amount of volume he got last year I just think that's how it's kind of been going back as a prospect and stuff so I think I'm not going to give him copy paste the same amount of usage as he had last year and where his current ADP is is based off of what happened exactly last year and I'm not going to say that's the absolute best of Travis e in because all of a sudden Jacksonville could look way better if Trevor Lawrence does take that leap the offensive line looks a little bit better but I think the more realistic outcome is he doesn't run as pier in touchdowns uh another running back gets in there a little bit more and at that point now you have you have an rb1 but you don't have a second round pick kind of player we had very similar notes I mean Travis eting accounted for 76% of the Jaguars backfield touches last year which was actually the second highest rate in the league behind Joe Mixon now when you watch tank bigsby's seven targets last year you understand why Travis etn accounted for 76% of the backfield touches and for the second straight off season though I'm gonna say I just don't see that happening again yeah like we just need an average player from tank bsby for really a volume sponge that Travis eten turned into last year which we had to be because of how bad the offensive line shifted into um for you know the volume to to go down but even when he was that ridiculous one-man workload he finishes the running back six in points per game 15 points on average per contest and that's nowhere near that beloved 20 point mark that I keep bringing up that we always crave and so because of that I'm simply drafting donon Anan above him on these platforms you know I'll even draft and I'm getting more excited about guys like Isaiah beo and Josh Jacobs than him because I believe offes more too so it's not like I dislike Travis eten I just prefer those three backs that are going after him on these platforms ahead of him yeah I I have the same notes I I didn't want to turn this into like some super anti-t Travis etn thing I think he's just goes a little bit too early and I'd rather take a first round running back than try to get into this tier when uh if you watch our wide receiver show like players like Malik neighbors and those type of guys they kind of go in this section and I I kind of want to take the upside shots at uh the wide receiver spot Rich rebar did have a great stat um and these things are so hard to predict late in the season but six of Travis E's final seven games of this fantasy regular season come against teams opponents that were top 10 and yards allowed per carry to running backs in 2023 so some of the best run defenses in the entire league is the closing stretch that he's going to face this season so just something to to keep in mind okay since this entire show is about running xck we have a deal for all of you and it's only for these listeners by the way our listeners Bree Hall one half yard week one free square if you sign up using the link in the description down below or use promo code the show all one word on Underdog fantasy I know you can learn over Underdog fantasy as well and who knows maybe long term if you keep using promo code the show you might get other things popping down your timeline as well and what a better time than right now to to sign up we got we got best ball closing in right now $15 million in beste ball uh Mania right now other tournaments popping in$ three five doll leagues no better way to prepare for your home League than to get on Underdog right now and start drafting that's talk Pittsburgh Steelers and a duo in that backfield in Naji Harris which consensus Najee Harris & Jaylen Warren rankings have him as running back 25 he's my running back 20 shockingly your running back 17 we'll table that for a moment and Jaylen Warren consensus running back 26 my running back 21 and your running back 22 so we are vastly higher than the market of these home leagues on this Pittsburgh Steelers backfield and my oneliner is that these redraft adps are anti Arthur Smith and I totally get it because we all get super frustrated with the quarterback decisions that he's made recently and the passing game stuff but when you look at it man his running games and his running systems are fantastic and that's what we're drafting with this Duo yeah even last year uh the Falcons were number two in running back usage that included the Tyler Alger some of the cpat stuff obviously beon got a ton of targets out there as well uh we're not paying bejon Robinson first round price tags on these guys so if this does become that committee that frustrated the beon drafters that's okay because these guys get drafted so late last year the Steelers they were dead last in yards before contact per carry dead last I think that's going to completely change for a couple reasons number one Arthur Smith dials up a great run game beyond that there is way more Talent on the offensive line you had Troy fonton to play right tackle he was a run first guy in my book I even thought there was a chance that he would be a guard so I think that's going to be a big move for the right tackle spot they drafted Zack Fraser in round two in the draft who by the way he's the center he was 159 and two as a high school wrestler an absolute dog uh in the Run game absolute merer brri Jones who was the first- round pick last year he's going to be at their left tackle as well you have two dual threat quarterbacks to open up things uh up the middle as well that's something that the Falcons didn't necessarily have at all times and those two guys Justin field and Russell WIS and I don't think they're going to be very good but they're better than Desmond Ritter and Marcus May IA and Kenny picket and Mason Rudolph those types of guys and we both know that both Naji and Jaylen Warren are good by themselves so I just think that the entire offensive environment looks way better and if one of these guys misses time or one completely runs away with the job these guys have a chance to be top 10 top 12 fantasy running backs and I'd rather play the upside game because I know the floor is going to be there just because how uh Arthur Smith just going to repeatedly run the ball yeah and his running game as we've stated is awesome he uses motion shifts condensed splits he'll run it front outside Zone then H it with counter out of the exact same look then H him with power on the very next snap then a weak side Zone then play action again all from the same formations all from the same sets and that's not forget that they also have Darnell Washington who can act as like a six offensive lineman on top of this I mean Jaylen Warren finishes the running back 33 last year in points per game Naji Harris is the running back 29 in a miserable system with a worse offensive line and now you're getting an offensive play caller who had what his running game as number two in usage or number three in usage I mean impeccable stuff impeccable environment so while the public the community football viewers at large want to fade Arthur Smith and how annoying he can be let's run to that and get excited about the running system and I want to draft each of these guys on or excuse me at least one of these guys each time I'm drafting on these platforms next gen stats has rushing yards OV expected and last year Jaylen Warren was running back three overall really efficient even though that yards before contact number was really low so he's making the most out of a really bad situation everyone already knows Jaylen Warren is very good at football Naji Harris though I do want to give him some credit because I think a lot of people just be like oh ew Naji Harris like what the hell is going on there well number one he's lost some weight which is good because I think that he was put on a lot of weight so he can handle the big workload now he doesn't necessarily have to do that because he has a running and last year he was a running back 16 he was an above average player in rushing yards overexp expected for my money I just thought he looked a little bit more explosive not like he's not gonna be breaking off long runs here but just to get to that second level obviously he's going to be the the primary guy in goal line situations so I think a lot of people want to bury Naji Harris because he hasn't proven to be worth a first round pick and he has not been a complete Workhorse over the last couple years but I do think he's kind of found his Groove here and he's his contract year for him and I think that they still want to use him especially at the goal line I should have teased this earlier but to close this episode Hay's actually going to have some real draft strategy Insight on some of the first round running backs on these platforms so stay tuned for that but right now we want to dive a bit deeper in these drafts and just tell you players that we Austin Ekeler are staying away from based on where they're going okay Austin Eckler is one of those names consensus running back 31 right now on these four platforms he's Hayden running back 42 my running back 44 Underdog is going as running back 41 this one stinks because Austin Eckler has like defined fancy Seasons oh yeah in many recent years but to me in this Washington Commander offense especially when you have Brian Robinson there when we saw James Connor in a cliff kingsberry offense be the running back six and running back 10 Connected in those systems I thought Brian Robinson is the one who is going to be the more of the work course the foundation back and Austin neckar is going to be maybe back to what he was early on in his career as like that satellite airback yes now much older all that type of stuff it's just a full-on fade at this price right now he's not going to be the goal line back is that's what Brian Robinson does I also don't think the commanders are going to get to the goal line very often this offensive line scares me it's a third round left tackle it's a new left guard who is a backup on the Chiefs they have a new center who the Cowboys let go kind of an average play player there um not a big fan of the offensive line not a huge fan of the play callers either and Cliff Kingsbury he he can establish the run a little bit but they don't throw the ball to the running backs very much uh the Cardinals when Cliff Kingsbury was calling plays they were 19th 17th 14th and 15th and running back receptions the Chargers during Austin Eckler's crazy run first first 7eventh first and then you look at Jaden Daniels Jaden Daniels as a quarterback he's not going to throw the ball to the running backs cuz he's going to scramble a ton only 14% And 15% of his receptions went to running backs uh at LSU there so I don't see the upside here just based off of the environment um I think there's a good chance that Austin ekler looks better like when you're actually watching him versus last year because it was that high ankle sprain but I don't see him catching enough passes or scoring enough goal line touchdowns and those are the two stats I I care about at running back I the same exact notes about janen Daniels throwing to his running back I mean in 2022 the running back was seventh in receptions on that team wow was fifth in running back receptions on that team in 2023 but just 14 last year just 14 receptions on that high-powered offense now how can this come back to bite us okay it is fascinating to me that again B Rob in these consensus lists running back 30 just one spot after is Austin Eckler Austin Eckler is back with Anthony Lynn who is this team's Run game coordinator and we know he has history with Anthony Lyn with the LA Chargers and I actually think that that is important for this team because talking with people that have played for Cliff kingsberry or listening to the media a major blind spot has always been the Run game for Cliff so having someone with experience there is important and the guy with experience has a lot of experience with Austin neckar so I'm just trying to connect dots but again if we're just talking about maybe the more ascending player versus the declining one and I also think Brian Robinson is an underrated pass catcher in his own right that uh I would much rather invest if they're going back toback in B Rob than Austin Eckler who by the way was returning kicks today oh yeah interesting yeah going back to Anthony Lynn it was not it was not a fun experience those Anthony Lynn teams with with the Chargers so we'll see what happens there um I'm with you Brian Robinson he caught a lot more passes at Alabama than people remember he was pretty efficient last year uh catching the ball so yeah I think there's a better chance that Brian Robinson is the guy you want but to me just like I had when I did my projections I had the commander 30th in points like I I I just don't see a lot of faith here man like look this is what the preseason is for what if Jane Danel goes it there and looks electric and then we can RE shift and change and and do all that type of stuff maybe ha won't no I mean people panicked when CJ strad wasn't lighting up the preseason I st with my evaluation uh based off of sample size of about 40 games in college so yeah okay I hate this moment because this is one of my Nick Chubb favorite players in the league but I think sometimes you have to tell hard truths and Nick chub's name has to be mentioned here because he's going on these four platforms combined as running back 35 he's my running back 47 he's your running back 48 he had MCL surgery back in September then ACL surgery back in November did I don't even know if he had another surgery after that there's a lot of things that are stacking up I mean this is arguably the best ball carrier in the NFL but as our great friend Richie I put it Nick chub is simply one of those players that I will let beat me if he hits it big this year because it seems like the slow play is what they're going to do on this offense this year to reintegrate him and it's even an offense that you and I believe is going away from the Nick chub on a baker Mayfield Le team that's going to focus on the ground game to more so we're going to air it out and pass the ball around the yard with what Kevin sansky actually wants to be I yeah that's that's the big thing even if Nick chub does return and he's himself the volume's not going to be there and we know that he's not going to play Passing situations because he never has before if you look at every single acquisition that the Browns have made over the last couple years every signal that they want to pass the ball and then last year they were number one in neutral pass rate for the back half of the season so even if Nick chub like is amazing and comes back earlier than expected and is good I don't think we're going to ever see the same Nick chub volume that we once saw but I think like the the real thing here is this knee injury was just super severe ESPN's Dan Graziano reports that he is unlikely to be ready for the season he's quote has just begun working on change of Direction stuff in addition to full speed sprinting so I know that he had that huge uh Squat and I mean what an incredible athlete to even that off but it's different to be on the squat rack and make cuts out in the open field uh the Browns are not putting any pressure there's no timeline for his return he's watching practice right now uh so I'm going to guess he comes back in Halloween and is just not going to be himself uh and they're not going to use him that much because they like Jerome Ford or Naim Hines or whoever it is to kind of spell them so too much to go yeah it's too much to Too Much stacked against him he goes one spot ahead of Gus Edwards right now on these platforms and like Gus Edwards I think has a pretty decent chance of hitting 10 touchdowns this Seas yeah yeah it is it is truth now I teased it it's your time we were going through this list and you're like man we have to talk about Bree Hall and bejan Robinson who are the second Running Back Strategy for Redraft 2024 Fantasy Football and third running back selected on all these platforms including Underdog fantasy and I was like this doesn't fit the video well we've wrapped it up in 32 minutes so tell the people why uh you want to discuss these two Elite talents uh when we're discussing these other types I think generally uh most leagues are now PPR leagues and these redraft settings have the running backs ranked too highly in default rankings for that format PPR and the biggest difference happens in like the middle part where running backs I think are being ranked way too high the smallest difference where running backs are not ranked that high is in the first round so I'm not going to say that draft Bree hall or bejan Robinson because they're so good my pitch is that structurally if you draft a running back the difference between Jamar Chase and Bree Hall is that is pretty small but once you get down to the fourth fifth sixth seventh eighth rounds the running back and the wide receiver that that are available I prefer the wide receiver so I'd rather kind of stick with a a doesn't have to be a hero running back build but if you go Bree Hall in the first round and then find one detour to go draft another running back in the first seven eight rounds I think that's the way to do it especially in full PPR leagues where we obviously want to be targeting wide receivers a little bit more there and I just think that there's a chance that breeze Hall in particular could go match CMC and have this 20 fantasy points per game season this year and I'd rather not pay the Derrick Henry who's a second round pick like to me Derrick Henry should be a third fourth round pick uh especially in full PPR I don't want to be like drafting a wide receiver in round one and then now I have to draft Derrick Henry versus some wide receivers who I think have way more upside that's a little preview for one of the best series that we do towards the end of August first week of September when the big draft week is of these cheat codes for each of these platforms that we are talking about where we basically tell you hey use this strategy on this platform based on where these guys are ranked in rounds one two three four five I'm totally with you I mean it's so easy to draft Bree Hall with the fourth overall selection then at the end of the second round Nico Collins who has like an ADP of 28th overall and then on the third round turn you can take Jaylen Wadd at 36 overall with that ADP so like it's so much different of you know spending first round Capital which we still will do on bejon and Bree Hall on Underdog in round one it just makes it so much easier to do it on these you can get the likes of Nico Collins and Jaylen Wadd in round two and in round three and I'm sure I can even go to like round four where Devonte Smith is and so on and so cup even yes yes basically the video that we just did the last time a lot of the names that we brought up are kind of like the third fourth round picks and we kept saying like why is Cooper cup here why is Jaylen wad here why are all these Malik neighbors and that's because the running backs go too too early imagine starting your draft bejan Nico Jaylen wad Malik neighbors yeah that's that's that's that's how you should do this thing so yeah this is especially true in PPR leagues and I think a lot of leagues are kind of going that direction it's it's not the right direction to go go and half PPR is where it's at but in full PPR the default R rankings the running backs are just over overrated and the smallest Gap is just in round one all right that does it if you enjoyed this episode hit thumbs up if you really want to join us
