the Cowboys where the paddle people were ready to open up a can we have a ranked versus unranked battle coming up here and you know how chaos can ensue if they start smelling an upset as we'll see a squad from the Big 10 the Michigan Wolverines taking on the winners of five straight the Oklahoma State Cowboy for EA Sports college football I'm Rees Davis joined here in the booth that's always by David Pollock and Jesse Palmer guys let's te this one up [Applause] the Cowboys will kick it off to get us underway hauls it in inside his 20 and here he comes finds just enough space to cross the 25 let's mark it at the 27 yd line [Applause] you think the fans are ready for this one the boot's shaking underneath this guys leaves it with the back SS across the 30 to the 32 a pick up of five it's going to be important this offensive line is able to get a little bit of push just got to give this guy an inch a little crease and he can make yards for it this crowd going to try to make life miserable for these guys to the ground with the bat works his way to the 38 after gaining five what a nice run there and from the beginning of time Michigan football has been synonymous with running the football you can think back to Tyrone Wheatley Anthony Thomas Chris Perry Hassan H Haskins big physical Runners that also had Sprinter speed and that could change the game this dude right here every time he has the football he has the ability to go the distance and that's what makes this Mission pick off he would have loved to make the big return there but he still getes his team the ball at the 37 at the start this kid was looking for very first pass of the day gets picked off this is a defense that's got a lot of ball Hawks on the back he's got to be real careful with his eyes not Telegraph throws like he did right there he's going to have to settle in here comes the offense on first down hand off to the single back he work that running game down to the 34 let's give him three on the carry and the running back didn't get much there nice job by the defense you can tell they're focused in on this running back on this run game being physical getting knock backs and limiting his carries keep it on the ground stopped just inside the 25 will'll mark it at the 24 pick up of 10 and the first down man who says you can't run up the middle anymore right everybody thinks I got to make big plays I got to go way out to the left way out to the right way out in space nope right the middle nice blocking how about the running back you could tell the speed the wheels does a great job getting down the field making a huge rushing Point tackle is made right at the 20 yd line after a pick up of four after the productive first down play it's second and six softened him up with a run and now to throw he's got it on the run defense is there to make the stop but he's got the first down and they'll have it first and goal with the six and I love the awareness by the wide receiver on that play because I'm not sure that route was supposed to be that deep you got to wonder if the receiver decided maybe to adjust the route a little bit to make sure that he got the first down and the Cowboys trying to pay off the threat on first and goal he'll try to get it in with the run and he's loose and he'll take it to the house touchdown cowboy and they just keep feeding it to their Workhorse back to open this game great job in the open field he's got tremendous Vision he can make people miss you saw all of that on display here in the opening drive and the extra point makes it seven nothing a very efficient five Place scoring Drive and he got into the house from the six to finish [Applause] it the ball bounces through the end zone and it will be a Touchback Michigan ready to get that offense rolling again after that last pick David they really need to take care of the ball this time no doubt and Palmer I want to know what Spurrier said to you on the sideline after a pick do that again and you'll be right here beside me for the rest of the game you got to go out you got to call your plays and I hope this coaching staff isn't going to be afraid to throw it this drive big chunk play to start this drive now they'll really try to take it to this defense they're going to ride this running back really nice stop there from this senior lead and it's just simple simple first down run showing your physicality setting your offense up in a good spot after the three- yd pickup they come to the line Second and seven from the gun they'll try to impose their will and they try the middle of this defense and that is not happening it's hard to run on a defense that comes off the ball like that and runs to the football like that good luck no holes in the better find the ear plug here comes the noise backing this defense on third down to the air it's orgy coming after him and he was hit just as he released it and it falls to the turf oh you know what time it is when the defense gets that stop on third down fist up in the air nice job getting to the quarterback putting some pressure on him hitting him forcing the incompletion fourth down baby [Applause] [Music] Oklahoma State hoping to get the pistols firing on offense how about the way they attacked the last time they had the ball mixing run and pass and winding up in the end zone Jesse that's why recruiting is so important they've got weapons at every skill position on the field any of these guys is dangerous if they touch the football let's see what they do on this drive David and so Palmer I got to take away something I can't let them have everything and have success I got to be aggressive against the run or play for the pass I can't give him everything didn't get much done on that first play of the drive it's second and 11 he's looking to throw fires it down the scene and that's going to be incomplete a lot of contact on the play but no Flags it'll be third [Applause] down they line up with some serious work to do if they want to convert this one quarterback checking the play on Third and long trying to have a big completion here he rifles one deep to the left and with that effort pick up a fresh set of downs they have it at the 34 yd line defenses throughout the week study every third down situation you got to be ready for what they do how they do it and then be able to adjust great job by the offense so far having success the Cowboys will line it up on First and 10 they'll run behind the big guys on the right still on his feet at the 45 he's right out of bounds but a big play on that one and it'll be a first down well the defense knew coming into this one that this team was going to try to use their speed and take advantage of it and they did right there nice gain on the Run play to the right found plenty of Running Room in that defense they've got to find a way to get there make the tackle in the open field yeah and they got to do a good job with their eyes finding the football and they've got to get a lot of bodies to this guy cuz he is fast he works his way inside the 30 down to the 29 and picks up a first down first down physicality wins football games being able to run the football and create balance and and right here just chews up another first down gives you another chance to maybe continue to run the football and I feel like this guy too is just an explosive play waiting to happen his vision his quickness and he's got a burst if you give this guy just a crease he's going to hit it and right now now he's doing some damage on this defense I'll tell you this is a running back who's very very dangerous and the defense did a good job getting him down there but they got to do a great job gang tackling because this is a guy that can break tackles and turn those types of plays into home runs extending the play nothing doing down field he'll cut his losses and thre it away it'll be third down a nice job by the quarterback there you're outside the pocket nobody's open you throw the ball away knowing that you still have more chances to get this first down they're close enough for a makeable field goal from the 26 but they'd love to convert this third and long grabbed in the middle it's Gordon and he gets it down to the four yd line before he's finally stopped a terrific run after the catch really nice job there at the quarterback reading coverage he knew exactly where to go with the football and at what exact time the timing could not have been better they get the completion on third down setting up first and goal and the Cowboys line it up with a first and goal wide receiver shows motion they'll run it on first and goal he works his way all the way down to the three and the defense is reeling [Applause] of Oklahoma [Applause] they'll try to open the quarter by cashing in on this big opportunity deep in the Red Zone they'll keep it on the ground looking for the End Zone justes hammer it with this running back again and he knowses his way into the end zone and the running back gets his second rushing touchdown of the game you want to continue to feed this guy you could tell he's got a nose for the End Zone knows how to get in there knows how to make things happen and the extra point makes it 14 nothing almost ready to kick it away after scoring the touchdown and no chance at a return here they'll start this drive at their own 25 [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] guys Here Come Those Maze and blue Wing helmets on offense this is when the pressure can ramp up a little bit on an offense David when they start feeling the heat to answer a score and I think being down 14 you can kind of feel that way but dude if you put a good drive together this is a seveno game no need to pay I was just going to say David I mean this thing can flip quick you go down score all of a sudden your defense gets a stop or who knows better yet gets a turnover this game is entirely different moving the running back forcing the defense to adjust they're trying to get to it just a short pass to the tight end gets it out to the 38 yd line after picking up 10 on that one making great decisions what all of the legendary Michigan quarterbacks have done John Navar Elvis gerbach and the guy I can't remember drafted in the sixth round by the Patriots yeah what that guy what was his name Tom Tom Brady yeah I think I think that's his name yeah he he was pretty good too but when you think about Michigan you don't always think about the quarterbacks and you don't always think about airing it out but again if you want to be a great college football team nowadays you better be able to throw that pig gin looking for space it's Edwards I like this guy as a running back because he can run between the tackles and he can also go outside he can really do it all halfway there on first down it's second and five back to pass it's orgy firing to the right complete and just a short safe pass play they pick up a few I tell you this slot receiver he really does give his quarterback a nice option runs really good routes he's got nice hands we saw it on that last play they'll try to bully their way for the first oh big Juke to get past he got a bunch and look close to getting a lot more but he's got the first down that has got to be demoralizing if you're on defense because they just ran the ball right up the middle down your throat and they gashed you they'll throw it on first down finds his man it's more and not much doing there as that defense runs him out of bounds my old coach said you'll never go broke taking a profit take what's there take the positive yards and never complain the Wolverines are threatening in the Red Zone they'll run it from the gun picked up maybe a yard it's down at the 16 I like feeding by out I like getting my running back touches feeding the ball so he can break some of those big runs but I'm also okay with these little ones set the tone stay balanced third down in this crowd is tearing the lid off this place from the gun wants to pass caught close to the marker it's Stewart The Tackle is made but he's got it first and goal from the six really nice job there by the quarterback understanding that it's Zone coverage on third down you're going to have to find someone working into a soft spot get the ball out hands quickly make an accurate throw and pick up the first well done first and goal and this feels like their chance to make a game on it looking downfield it's orgie getting some heat but a little time lets it go into the end zone touchdown Michigan and what did I start for this offense the throw game getting working getting the touchdown pass this quarterback getting a little bit of confidence this passing game getting in a rhythm nice start for this offense let's go to the studio now and check in with Kevin Connors Kevin what do you got all right guys a little update on what else is happening in college football this weekend Arkansas state is in front they've responded well to all the off the field chatter this week but they still have to finish the job and that is no sure thing right now they're up by seven over for Southern Miss we'll Circle back if anything big happens you should know about thanks for the update on that one Kevin let us know when it goes final Oklahoma state has it back and the offense is on the field after standing on the sideline and watching that long touchdown Drive they really need to put something together to give their defense a rest and that's a real thing man like you played a lot of plays you get worn out you need a chance to go decompress in the sideline get some oxygen Palmer now it's on this offense yeah this is the definition of complimentary football because it's a two-prong problem you've got to score points and answer but you've also got to take your time and give your defense an opportunity to get their win after the incompletion it's second and 10 from their own 25 they'll run the screen at the 35 is open they make the stop but before the screen has hit him for a first down and much more really good execution by this offense that was just a perfectly choreographed screen the line got out on time the running back had a wall in front of it and I think the quarterback did a really good job of selling pass then kind of dodging the pass rush getting it to the running back and then let him do the rest you got him in space he'll pick up yards in a hurry nice run there on first down you know this is a running back that gets better as the game goes on so they're going to want to make sure they keep feeding him the football let him get lathered up back to throw it's fores he lets one fly deep and the ball is picked off trying to take it back and they capitalize not only on the pick but the great return to give the offense tremendous field position they'll get this drive started from their own 45 yd line wasting no time throwing on this drive missed his receiver there it's incomplete after the misfire now on second down movement from the linebackers trying to mess with the offensive Line's assignments the playaction fake feeling some heat that pass is incomplete and they're probably fortunate that it wasn't knock free for a fumble doesn't take this defense a lot of time to get to the quarterback man they've got speed all over the place they hit him so quickly and because of that the ball Falls incomplete got quite a ways to go to keep this drive going it's third down from the 45 he's looking to throw get it out on the screen at the 45 on his way he will step out of bounds but not before the big pick up and a first down this offense and the Wolverines come to the line with a fresh set of downs they'll run it from the gun we'll give him a couple on that one second and eight coming up oh man there's some big hitting going on the trenches right now this defense they take a lot of pride in stopping the Run let's keep our eye on them throughout the course of the game and see if they can contain this running attack picked up two yards on that last one they need eight on second down wide receiver coming across in motion the inside handoff that's what you expect from a senior don't give them any extra yards great tackle there [Applause] decb Rising as the crowd Gets behind this defense on third down looking to throw it's orgy quarterback adapted he's going to run it he's R out of bounds but not before turning in big pick up and moving the sticks for a first down man that used to just drive me nuts I couldn't stand that the quarterback drops back to pass scrambles around you got me chasing you all over the field getting close to the sideline stay in bounds please stay in bounds let me get a little bit of a reward for all my running so I can just put some kind of hit on you nope steps out of bounds and he was hit just as he was releasing the pass and it falls to the ground incomplete well he didn't have a whole lot of time to get rid of that one the defense was all over him right after the snap no wonder that thing fell incomplete out of the gun to give to the back not a whole lot of progress made there on the short run Indie Car tempo as they head to the line for this third down play clock [Applause] running back to the ground with the running back and he found plenty of Running Room on that one before the defense was finally able to get him down a timeout is called as this offense tries to find a way to get more points on the board before the half down to the 12 yd line it's first down C in the back field it's Morris and the defense settled in to stop that one for a short gain we've got a timeout here late in the first half and they'll try to get more points on the board before the break just a few seconds remaining here as they try to put something up before half time to the air it's orgy quarterback strolling away from heat heau it they will score touchdown Wolverines really nice job working the route getting himself open he's able to locate the football snag it out of the air and this guy now has five receiving touchdowns on the A and the extra point was good to finish things off you get that touchdown right before the half the momentum and the last thing you need to do is mess it up by allowing a big kickoff return you'll call for the fair catch here [Music] just enough time to get off one final play of the [Applause] half one running back in the back field and he has it he'll be brought down and that's the final play of the half we played two quarters here time to go to Kevin Connor in our half time update [Music] the Wolverines will kick it away to crank up the second [Applause] half no reason to risk trying to field that one as it skips through the enzone it'll be a [Music] Touchback Oklahoma State hoping to get the pistols firing on offense first drive of the second half always fun to watch you see what type of tweaks were made at the half especially when you're locked up in a ball game like this one yeah and it's been a good game I mean it's been a little bit of back and forth and a feeling out process and now once you get into the second half who's going to get aggressive caller who's going to take some shots try to make some plays and really go for it yeah it's interesting I think as play callers right now you learn a lot about these coaching staffs with respect to who does make the best adjustments there's a lot of coaches that believe we're just going to be who we are we're going to keep doing what we do we're just going to do it better but then there are others that tweak things a little bit on offense and on defense we're going to find out here makes to grab on the left side oh look out touchdown Cowboys and with that they've got the lead here in the second half and how about the bomb the long field all the way across the field Big Time play Big Time throw receiver runs underneath it takes it to the house huge play for this [Music] offense climbing up to tack one more onto that lead and the extra point is true and they're on top by seven about to kick it off after punching it in for the touchdown and they desperately wanted to attempt a return but decided not to instead they'll take the [Applause] [Music] Touchback and here comes the Michigan off back on the field David they' love to do what they did last time and put this one in the end zone you ain't lying they did a great job the offense was clicking everything went well Palmer they executed and got the touchdown just having these dud bounce off of him like popcorn finally run out of bounds but he has this offense rolling with a first down we talk a lot about Michigan building its offense around the running game that they've always had an effective quarterback who can make plays down the field and I think some people he effective gree and take that as an insult right like I don't want to hear about my quarterback being effective I want him to be explosive I want them to be dynamic but Michigan doesn't really have those guys most of the time at that quarterback spot but when they find those good ones they have great Seasons their last completion has them set up second and short back to throw it's orgy fires to the big fella didn't pick up a lot there moved it Forward just a few that's catch by the big tart those big tight ends you can tell in football just becoming more and more of a weapon every single time Here Comes This Home crowd as the defense tries to get off the field on third down nice job to pick up the first down and they'll spot it at the 42 and that's all you want right you want that first down understand the situation understand I got to get North and South get a first down get a new set of downs and the Wolverines are on the move he wants to throw hit hard just as he released it on first down and just couldn't get it to the receiver and finally the defense is able to get some pressure on this quarterback they had been trying all game long different ways to affect him weren't able to get there but on that play because of the pressure it affected his accuracy and that's why the ball Fells in control and you can forget running in the middle against this defense great job by the defense everybody firing off the ball keeping their guys hold their gaps run into the football nowhere to go if they can convert here that type of play can really give you a shot of momentum third and long and he'll try to throw for it unloads to the wide out got it in the middle it's Morris and this junior loves to show off that big arm well look that wasn't a touchdown but that was a massive play for this offense they needed some momentum they needed to find a rhythm in what better way than converting on third down awesome job by the quarterback power football with the Run finally stopped at the 20 yd line after a pickup of six I I like it just frustrate the defense get that five to six yards make him honor the Run make them know that you're willing to run the football and run it effectively Here Comes second down and this crowd is turning it up a notch to throw it's orgy now adjusting and he scoots his way to the first down and then slides to avoid the hit it's just so nice as a coaching staff when you've got quarterbacks who make good decisions and on a second and short play you're throwing it you're trying to catch the defense napping you might take a shot nothing there go get it yourself make the right decision to keep it not panic and get you a fresh set down trying to find his man on first down quarterback moving out of the pocket reels it in in the end zone touchdown Michigan ready to try the point after and the extra point was made without incident and we're tied up here in the third we check in with Kevin Connor what's going on Kevin all right guys a little update on what else has happening in college football this weekend Tain is currently a big right now in a game they'll be talking about in New Orleans for some time they're up by 24 over rice we are the eyes and ears of the college football fan and we've got you covered all day here in studio guys and how about that one Kevin will be keeping an eye on everything going on elsewhere Oklahoma state has it back and the offense is on the field they go to the ground and that's a very productive first down play and bringing up second and three coaches always harp about staying ahead of the chains and when you could run with that type of efficiency on first down man you are doing just that [Applause] good spot after that seveny pickup on first down it's second and three they'll try the right side he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three how frustrating is that you're that running back where were you supposed to go there was absolutely no Lane for him on that play Ball's at the 29 defense can taste getting off the field it's third and long looking down field it's fores he's going for the big play makes the catch down the right side the express way is wide open and he got away from the defense and takes it in touchdown Oklahoma State how about that his second receiving touchdown of the ball game find ways to get your athletes the ball they'll do the rest that's number two they better start playing some better defense when Three is coming soon and the extra point makes it a 2821 score lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown Drive bounces through the end zone it's a Touchback they'll bring it out to the 25 Michigan ready to get that offense rolling again Jesse looking to take it down the field for backto back touchdowns I think it's really important for them moving forward to of balance right you want to be able to keep this defense guessing po yeah and you got me searching for answers after that last drive you stack another drive on top of this their defense's heads are going to be spinning all over the place from the 39 yd line it's first and 10 he's looking to throw thr it that's reeled in it's Morgan and he gets a big chunk of yardage to the 34 yd line how nice is it as a quarterback when you don't have to throw post routes to get great stats no I can just throw it quickly to one of the fastest players in the entire nation and let him burn this defense first and 10 as the clock winds under a minute to go here in the third quarter he's going to pass he's going up top and in complete on the Deep ball not sure exactly what went haywire there but the timing was just off and that's your job as a defense right you got to find a way to disrupt the timing and jam wide receivers or get to back and make him feel uncomfortable but you can't let that timing be easy and effortless nice job by the defense makes the catch it's more and they'll stop him just short of the first down just inches away from moving the stairs it's so nice as a quarterback when you've got a guy like that working for you in the slot he has such a good field to find the Open Spaces in the defense just makes life so much easier for his quarterback time winding down in the qu they come to the line on Third and short the power run here and he's tripped up but not before picking up the first down the Wolverines come to the line with a new set of [Applause] downs off the play fake on first down to throw looking to the big tight end into double coverage and they made him pay it's intercepted and he's wrapped up after a solid return on the pck not all DBS make the play at the end right they they can bat the ball down they can be in position but they don't really secure the football great job by the DB securing the football and forcing the tget quarterback checking off he breaks a tackle puts him in the spin cycle and he goes out of bounds after coming up with positive yardage there well they've got the lead the defense just did their part getting a takeaway so now if you're on offense you want to run the ball and take as much time as possible between snaps stay in bounds and let this clock tick away might as well run him until they stop him he's got it again they've got a lead here in the fourth quarter and there's certainly still plenty of football to go but this is where you'd love to control the flow of the game right you want to dictate everything to the defense and you do that by running the football that was a really nice run this offensive line is firing off late looks like they're getting stronger as the game goes on and that is a good sign for the offense from the gun give on the inside hard running there stopped at the 46 yd line but give him 10 yds and the first down he's now up to 83 yards rushing he continues to impress as he leads the nation in rushing now it's first 10 from the 46 yd line the short hands it's green and they pick up just a few on that completion well it's important in this game this offense gets the running back involved out in the perimeter in space where you can do some damage that time they got it to him throwing the football he picked up a couple of yards but it gives the defense something to think about back to throw it's forz using the quick game flipping through the defense and getting it all the way down to the 24 yd line this is so interesting right now watching this offense stay aggressive they've got the lead in the fourth quarter and you're thinking at home we got to just run the ball and try to bleed the clock they found something on defense they're taking advantage of two straight completions I won't be surprised if they throw it again going to run it it's Gordon finds a little bit of room give him a couple down to the 23 at this point of the game the offense has the lead the offensive coordinator knows they want to keep running the football so he's going back he's looking at his playlist and he's saying which runs work the best for me in this game what can I lean on right here to make sure we win this one grab behind the line it's Gordon the defense wouldn't let him loose there and it was a completion but they lost yardage love the play by the defense they just did a good job understanding where the running back was on that play after the catch ble to make the tackle right away and now they've set up third down balls at the 24 a lot of confidence in their kicker from here but they'd love to take it off of his foot and convert the first down the handoff keep working on that clock touchdown Oklahoma State and they take it in for six more points they give themselves just a little more cushion as they close in on extending this winning run this is why you consist run the football steady diet because you can break the long touchdown runs nice job breaking through the line of scrimmage out running the rest getting in for the long touchdown about to kick it away after scoring the touchdown that ball scoots through the back of the end zone it'll be a Touchback [Applause] guys Here Come Those Maze and blue winged helmets on offense that last Drive was promising for a while but you just can't mess it up at the end with the pick Jesse no You' got to be able to finish drives especially in this game if you're going to win and David they've got to be able to eliminate the M of mistakes yeah and I don't think you get conserved or play it safe you can trust your guy I think you put the ball right back in his hands and let him do his thing looking for a man it's orgie unloads to the rights it in good pick up there as he gets the first down and they'll Mark him at the 48 yeah and you see running backs in today's football they play wide receiver basically for you but you got to find a guy that you can throw it to and you know he's going to catch the ball consistently wants to throw on first down now he's going to Glide away from pressure he'll P it down he's run out of bounds but a big play on that one and it'll be a first down when you're trailing in the fourth quarter it's not just the other team right you're fighting against that clock nice heads up play by the QB he does a great job scrambling getting the first down and then stopping that clock he'll come out throwing on first down buys a little extra exra time and he was drilled just as he released the pass it's incomplete and that's why you always want to be pursuing the football QB scrambling he rolls out to the right but don't quit if you're on defense get somebody after the QB they got to him they hit him and force the incompletion on second down wants to throw it catch in the middle it's presor and chunk plays are the name of the game and they get one here before the defense finally makes the stop from the Red Zone looking for a man floating away got some room into the goal line touchdown wolver and they add six more to the board but that trip to the [Applause] house getting set for the point after they tack on the extra point and they're down a touchdown 3528 and let's check in with Kevin Conor's in the studio Kevin a bit of an under the radar game this week guys but take a look at this the Red Hawks of Miami are just steamrolling their way to Victory no way the experts on this coming a lead that just keeps growing and growing they're up by 18 over Ohio just another week of college football where we've come to expect the unexpected fellas oh and how about that I know Kevin and those guys will be keeping an eye on it for us he got a hand in there knocks it away inom complet you know as an offense when you're trying to complete these tunnel screens you're going to have to be able to negotiate some of these Defenders near the line of scrimmage they're all looking to swat it away good job by the defense there second down here and maybe they've got time to get one more snap off before the two-minute warning looking for space it's Gordon he showed it all there a little lucidness a little power and he's got the first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs they'll give it to him again they'll get him down but not before he crosses the 50 he's down to the 49 he now has 111 yd on the ground and just another day at the office for the national leader in russing the Cowboys will have it first and 10 on the ground trying to pull the plug on this clock crosses the 30 he got away pistol firing touchdown cowboy and once he found open space the band might as well start playing with that score looks as if this bunch is about to go six and one and you know late in the games offenses sometimes get conservative when they got the lead and they got the ball I love this offense they were aggressive they got another score added to the lead now you're trying to Salt this game away and the extra point is true and they have a two touchdown lead up 14 in the fourth the kickoff team out there and ready to go he wisely lets that bounce through the back of the end zone and they'll take over at the 25 [Applause] on first down here comes this [Applause] offense here's the hand off they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one you see all this movement in football now all the stem in the defensive line they're sliding right before the snap creating confusion for the offensive line then they're moving back and stunting really good job by the def continue to move continue to stunt continue to get in the back field and make this life hard on this running back really nice job to squirt his way up to the 31 yd line yeah and listen this guy's had a good day I know they're trailing and they need to put some Drives together but I also
