of Buffalo's roaming here we're really looking forward to this matchup you've got a team that's made its way into the top 25 now trying to pass an all important road test [Music] [Applause] and the buffalos will kick it away to start us off and he takes this from inside the five nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the 16 all right guys here's our first look at this offense today and there he is when you have a guy like this you don't mind building your attack around the running game guys and he's a grown man there's no doubt about it this offense runs through him everybody gets their emotion and everything is built on him and around him and everybody knows this guy's going to touch the football and still defenses can't stop him he can run through tackles and make big things happen not difficult not complicated but early in the game get in that Rhythm find that timing wide receiver so you're set up for Success then you go attack deep later on when with the running game on first down now back got it he wants to pass it on second Downs it in at the 45 on it way and he's running in the open and they are pushing the ball down the field a big pick up on that one and the tackle is finally made well after that last play you can see how electrifying this guy is and how special he is after he makes the catch if I'm on offense I'm trying to find a lot of ways to get him touch in this [Applause] game what a great job settling in on the road and threatening to score now here on first and goal they'll try to get it in with the Run Relentless tough running gets it down to the four hiess coming out on the goal line they're going to give him another chance on second and goal he pushes it forward all the way to the two yd line and with the stuff there Jesse on second down this still a third to midrange you got two downs what are you thinking here maybe getting your quarterback out on the perimeter and giving him a run pass option see if you can get the defense in a b and they've moved their way down but still they need two more yards can they bang it in with the running game on third down he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple and about decision time right off the Jump fourth down do I want to go for it first drive what you're going to do I'm taking the points right here it's early in the game you're trying to pay off this opening drive just get some points up on the board if it was a little closer to the end zone I'd say maybe go for it but I'm playing conservative and that is no good kicker couldn't quite get it through and the scoreboard Remains the Same you can't miss opportunities like that you're playing on the in a hostile environment you're trying to seize momentum right out of the gate you get a nice drive to start the game and then you miss the field goal you don't get any points to show for that if they're going to win this one guys they've got to take advantage of those types of opportunities line gets set first down motion from the offense they'll crank up this drive with the pass he's going to take a shot right away grabs it at the 25 in Drive he's got the sidelines going n as he catch it down to the 18 yd line and how about the big strike down the field I love when offenses take shots down the field try to make big plays now they're set up in the red zone and the Buffalo headed quickly to the line look ing for space it's Hayden not a whole lot of room there three yards maybe second and seven and offenses want to continue to feature the Run they want balance even if it's not super successful you can take it little bit at a time just to keep that defense honest got three on first down it's second and seven he'll pull it on the [Applause] read gets it all the way down to the 2yd line he was fighting for that end zone well this is one of the fastest quarterbacks in college football and that's why the option's a good idea because if he can get out in space and he has a chance to get down field he is really difficult to tackle and he's very difficult to catch as you saw in that last play getting a first down they'll dial up the run on first and goal and and he takes it to the house tdch down Cado that was a great example of a running back toting the rock with conviction there's not a lot of time to hesitate if you see a split second you see a hole You' got to hit it right now nice job by the RB there [Applause] P unit on the [Applause] field and the P makes it seven nothing quick work on that scoring drive just four plays and finish the deal with the short touchdown run from the two the kickoff team out there and ready to go on the move from inside is five didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 the offense lining up for a first down play the inside hand off good solid determined run there they'll Mark him down at the 27 I know it's sexy to throw the football but if you can pound it away and get these kind of gains they will just add up wear the defense down get first downs and ultimately get some points after the nyd pickup on first down here's second and one leaves it with the back slammed to the ground but not before he gets the first down and here we go if you're an offense you got to get that ground gain going so you can have some balance and then you give it to your quarterback Palmer and let him make some plays down the field later on yeah exactly and know coming into this game this offense knew they were going to have have to someway somehow at least establish the semblance of a running game for exactly what you just said you got to be able to use play action pass later in this game to get some explosive plays down the field and it's a play like that that we just saw which can help them get that going nice job getting outside right those running backs they get on those tracks they run outside now they're in the open field it's so tough those safeties are flying down try to get an angle but you could tell the speed sets them up makes the big play out to the left the offense showing motion from the tight end trying to get a read on the D they'll go to the [Applause] ground and they picked up nine on first down it'll bring up second and short yeah this coaching staff they're getting this offensive line lathered up and into a rhythm now they're letting him drive off the ball on first down on these running plays and they're getting chunks of yardage we're through one period and these receivers are showing out big time take a look at the stats now to see if these guys can get back in the game in the second quarter the give to the left side makes the tackle at the 27 it's a pick up of five and enough for the first down well the defense knew coming into this one it was going to be a physical game guys are going to have to be great at the point of attack and get off blocks and make tackles it couldn't stop the offense from picking up that first down on that run play this drive has been exclusively on the ground could they be setting up a shot play now he's looking to throw it to the wide out incomplete and he threw that one up for grabon into traffic and fortunate to get it back great coverage great break on the ball had a chance to really make a big play and maybe even take that thing back to the house but you got to secure the catch we like to hit people more than we like to catch balls and here comes the offense on second down from the shotgun the hand off to the back defense holds their Brown pick up of a yard it's at the 26 yeah and the running back didn't get much here but you know you clearly want to always establish the Tipo run the football be consistent make that defense physically meet the challenge they're close enough for a makeable field goal from the 26 but they'd love to convert this third and long from the gun wants to pass and the ball comes out what a disastrous play oh looks as if the defense got it nice job by the defense there they're trying to get to the quarterback you see those arms they're flailing they're swatting at that football they're trying to get the ball out of the QB's hands those long arms by those d man they were able to get that ball loose Colorado has the ball back and the Buffalo hoping to put their team in Prime position on offense David they love to do what they did last time and put this one in the end zone you ain't lying they did a great job the offense was clicking everything went well Palmer they execute and got the touchdown and they really were in a nice Rhythm as well and I'd love to see that here on the next drive to just keep doing what you're doing everything seems to be working and you seem to have this defense on their heels the buffalos are in the hurry [Applause] up Red Pass it's complete and they pick up just a few on that completion this is no surprise to defenses anymore everybody throws wide receiver screens and you could tell they were ready for it they saw the quick game they pounced on it got the wide receiver on the ground that's not the first time they've seen that rounde this defense will try to force a fourth down on Third and short from the [Applause] 45 back to throw it's Sanders fires to the right it's caught and he's knocked down immediately but not before he moves the chains we asked earlier this week who's your favorite receiver and of course he said the open one but we know who he really wants to go to on third down the best one I mean I think the open one obviously the politically correct answer but you want to find the guy that you got that great chemistry with you know exactly where he's going to be you got that Bond and that trust running back searching for a hole a strong tackle and wrap up from the junior Run game is good balance is good now listen if the Run game isn't good then you got to pass the football a little bit more but sometimes you got to keep them honest take them chunk by chunk didn't get much on first down it's second and nine he's looking to throw grabbed over the middle it's h they were able to get him stopped just shy of the first down mark one of the most difficult things about this slot receiver is his shiftiness and his athleticism he's very very difficult to tackle after the catch coming to the line of scrimmage on third down they'll try to bully their way for the first nowhere to run on that one he loses four on the carry how about Defender being a heat seeking missile he was on radar lock he found the football and flew down with some bad intentions and the buffalos will call on their punt team he ought to be able to use his first punt to pin him [Applause] deep how about this it's out of bounds inside the 10 and they're going to Mar it right around the 5 yd line what a great job there so the decision has been made and the coach will take the penalty first down here with time for maybe one more play until the two-minute warning Ed the play fake now to throw got it they'll Mark him down right there but it is a big play and they'll move the chains it's the two-minute warning and we'll see if the offense can tack a little something extra on their lead before the break and the buffalos are marching down the field F they'll run it on first and goal and to the end zone he goes C down buffalo wow this offense they have a lot of faith in this running back knowing if they get down into this area of the field he can get it done and he can answer the Bell two rushing touchdowns already for this offense [Applause] they'll try to attack one more on their score and the extra point makes it 14 nothing so they started that drive barely into opponent's territory and went 48 yds and finished to deal with the short touchdown run from the two the kickoff team out there set to Bren away let's see what he can do with the return he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 first down here for the offense looking to move it through the air throws to the wide out and the timing just a hair off well give the defense credit because they're forcing this quarterback to throw into the very small Windows under duress couldn't make the connection on first down now here on second he's looking to throw get it out on the screen he will step out of bounds but not before the big pick up and a first down for this offense there's got to be a sense of urgency for this offense right now they're trailing they're going to be kicking off to open the second half so they need points they need to go Tempo maybe that last first down gets them a little bit of confidence they'll start this one from the 29 on first down he's going to pass just masterful working that sideline and getting the toe down for the catch that's a great job by the wide receiver understanding where the first down marker is don't mess around don't run two yards short get to the first down catch the football move the sticks and get an extra set of downs after moving the sticks with the pass here we are on first down looking to throw it again receiver looks it in it's complete and he was just a couple of steps away from taking that one even further after the catch that big pick up on what they call the drag route but if you hit it on time you can hit the turbo boosters and you've got to be accurate on the throw too Reese nice job by the QB there putting it out in front of his receiver to make an easy catch and then Advance it looking to go up top on first down the short hands it's Booker and he was able to run through a tackle and they finally get him but not until he picks up the first down and offensively I love running these drag routes I mean these are the routes that whether it's Zone whether it's man they're so successful about seeing what the defense is doing and getting it to him in open space nice job the wide receiver has some space after the catch able to go make extra yards nice pitching catch it's incomplete and he's lucky to get that one back almost intercepted and that's why these guys play defense if that were an offensive player receiver that would have easily have been a catch come on man you got to catch that make that a pick and here comes play number six of the drive on second down they'll take to the air works the middle he's brought down but there's a flag on the field let's see what the call is personal foul [Applause] defense it's been said over and over you have to protect players head and neck area this penalty so important at the college level they'll throw it on first down looking to the end zone can't make the grab as he was going for six right there man you've given up this drive they come down the field and you had such an opportunity to get the pick and close the door and shut down the drive and not give up points that's a big missed opportunity for this defense going to work in the Red Zone they can pick up the first down without getting it into the end zone trying to get to it and it's in in complete it was wild high and wide on that one really need to pick up this conversion and avoid having to settle for the field goal on Third and long try to convert through the air and he'll sail it way to far for everybody nice job by the defense they're mixing up their look they're third and long in field goal range they go Zone coverage so everybody on the back end has the eye on the quarterback and they're able to break on the ball Force the incompletion and for the second time tonight they'll TR out the field goal kicker absolutely perfect [Applause] so they get the field goal now about to kick it away and you get a stop here and you go to halftime feeling really good about things on the run from inside his zone five and he'll be brought down after a solid effort on that return and the Colorado offense is coming back onto the field they've got some time to work with here Jesse and if they get a first down they might really get aggressive I'd be aggressive right out of the gate I'd be throwing for a first down if I get it then it's pedal to the medal I'm in that two-minute mode to try to score a touchdown to get a field but I do think this is a situation where you also have to understand that I have the lead going into the half I've got the momentum so don't do anything stupid here clock winding toward zero they'll get one more snap off back to throw it's Sanders going downfield for the big play he's got it at the 30 and he strides his way into the end zone touchdown buck and I love this offense man staying aggressive just because you got the lead you know people can score points in bunches this offense keeps the foot on the accelerator scores again on the final play now this offense has even more of a cushion going into half time they'll try to add another to their [Applause] lead and with the extra point there on top by 18 first half in the book time now to join Kevin Connors in our halftime update phas Yan's work so far today in Boulder and welcome in to the halime update and we have to start this halftime breakdown by addressing the play of this Elite wide receiver this is clearly a young man who once he's finished playing on Saturdays he's going to be playing on Sundays the kid has different gears he has a knack for finding gaps in the defense and I can't remember a college player with that kind of catch radius and with that let's send it back to the guys more than a mile above sea level at Fon field looks as if we're set to crank it up here in the second half looks as if Turner will try and field this one he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 Colorado has the ball back and the Buffalo hoping to put their team in Prime position on offense grabbed behind the line it's Hunter after the pick up of nine it's second and one I love offenses and quarterbacks that are willing to take the easy stuff take those easy throws that are guaranteed to get positive yards yeah I'm going to take big shots down the field too but don't forget it's easier to pick up second and five third and five than it is when we start getting those long yarded situations going to the running game tackle is made after the first down and you know big chunks like this don't happen unless you commit to the Run game you got to get those big boys up front into the game understanding I want to knock people off the football create some holes like you do here for my running back make the game easy will snap it on first down from the 35 he wants to throw intercepted trying to take it back the T strolls into the end zone for a touchdown the DB saw it he thought don't drop it don't drop it then thought don't get caught don't get caught and he didn't the pick six hey these guys can play offense too now look at this I showed you I can be a wide receiver coach might split him out at wide receiver next week after making that big play but defense great job making the interception and you're right doing something with it they'll just slide down they'll be content take that thing all the way back he'll try to tack on one more and with the extra point they draw closer it's 21- [Music] 10 they it off and send that defense right back out there to try to score again after the pick six here he comes from inside his own five he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic but they get him on the ground at the 20 and the Colorado offense is coming back onto the field the big thing now don't get rattled by that last pick six David it was a big mistake uh obviously the defense took advantage of it but you got to put it behind you Jesse I'm sure you know a thing or two about throwing a pick six and and had a rebound I believe I've only thrown one in my life but yes I do because of that singular instance I'll say this you can't let that play Beat you twice you got to go out not try to get it all back here in one play Just execute the offense going to run it it's Hayden they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one and a great job by the linebacker you could tell starting to crowd the line of scrimmage get up there in the line of scrimmage see it diagnose it get in the back field get the running back on the ground for the tackle for the loss the buffalos want to pick up the tempo back to throw it's Sanders quickly complete he's one out of bounds but a big play on that one and it'll be a first down third down a lot of times it comes down to not necessarily who's the most open who do you trust the most no it's not about the x's and the O's it's about the jimmies and the Joe and when my guy is better than you and I get you matched up out wide and I know I trust you I'm finding you off the play fake on first down wants to throw good job to toss that ball out of bounds and avoid the loss the incompletion brings us to Second and 10 he's looking to throw got his man quickly he's just winning that match up in the slot every time and when you put him in the slot Reese he's closer to the quarterback it's an easier throw we can run in we can run out and really take advantage of his versatility of the guys that slot position third and short from the 44 and we might know if they plan to go for it on fourth down by what they call [Applause] here keeps the legs moving nice pick up there gets him the first down and sets him up at the 45 yd line I'll tell you this guy can just take games over he can just make things happen when it doesn't look like anything's there that time they go rbo they're expecting to throw the football and have to make a play but nobody's open this is like sandon football he just tucks the ball himself and he goes and gets it he knows where he is on the field he knows where he needs to get to get that first down he's just playing above the x's and those you'll take this every time five yards on the first down play I I like it just frustrate the defense get that five to six yards make him on to the Run make him know that you're willing to run the football and run it effectively halfway there on first down it's second and five off the play fake right through his hands and incomplete and he'll want that one back it'll be third down you're not going to see that happen too often the quarterback man he was licking his chops he saw a big space in the middle of the field he had his best receiver there ready to make a play and he dropped it we'll see if they go back to the air after the incompletion it's third and five scanning the field it's Sanders fires to the middle what a snag by the defense taking it the other way he's at the 40 he's at the 20 finds the finish line for the touchdown what a play by this defense with the pick six and how about the defender exactly what you're supposed to breaks on the football makes the interception everybody on defense we turn to offense go lay some blocks so my guy can get it and take it back to the house they'll try to get the two-point conversion here and make it a three-point game touch pass on the Jet Sweep he gets it in for the two and now a field goal with ti they're lining up to kick it off after the pick six and that defense will come out feeling it he'll start the return inside his five nice job executing all of the assignments as they put a stop to that return at the 22 Colorado has the ball back and the Buffalo hoping to put their team in Prime position on offense pulls it in it's Hunter my coach said you never gr broke taking a profit take what's there take the positive yards and never and the buffalo's come to the line in the hurry [Applause] up gives it to the back on the draw they bring him down and he's going to lose the yard on that one man the defense was in there in such a hurry they didn't even let that draw develop got to him so quick you know the draw play has to look like a pass and not look like you're faking a pass and I think there uh it was pretty evident they were trying to run the draw somebody needs to make a play here it's third and long from the 26 to the air it's [Applause] Sanders firing to the right complete and the defense able to drag him down but not before they'll recycle that down marker defense is about learning the plays third down what do they like to do how do they do it so far the offense having a little bit of success the def now you got to figure out what they're doing and the Buffalo come to the line with a fresh set of [Applause] downs out of the gun they'll run it inside good job running tough and behind his pads as he gets up to the 38 yd line [Applause] linebackers trying to create some confusion here comes the offense on second down big catches big plays tons of yards through three quarters for these two guys one more period to go to see who can make the winning plays and come home with the [Applause] victory looking throw on second down fires to the right got his man hit the gas kid wide open ahead you were to talk about Shifting the field in an instant he's got it all the way down to the 10 yd line what a great play call offensively taking the shot you flip the field and now you better get those Red Zone play calls ready and dialed up the buffal are moving quickly down the field caught in the back field it's hunter that throw and catch gets him down to the six and the defense is running out of answers I like the decision by the quarterback here just get the ball out of your hands get it to your playmaker a lot of times he'll dance and make even bigger plays than he did here but it was still a positive game going to work on second down in the red zone is still some ground to cover to pick up that first down try to get the edge with a quick touch pass One Step WRA twep squeeze this junior knows how to get him on the ground boy they'd love to pick up this conversion and go to work with a first and goal he'll just keep slinging it and makes the grab in the end zone touchdown colado the offense flexes its muscle a bit and widens the Gap take a little exhale you know you did your job you got coach now you put your defense in position where hey go out and get another stop we're in great shape so the offense definitely taking care of their business [Applause] ling up to add another and the extra point extends the lead to double figures at 10 they March 79 yd on the drive and the score comes on a 5yd touchdown pass the kickoff team out there getting set he'll bring it back from inside his five nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the 16 and the offense takes over to dip into its Bag of ball plays trying to start the drive with a pass looking down the middle all kinds of room to throw that one in there and he gets it to the 44 yd line it'll be a first down this is the moment for this off def to put a drive together it doesn't matter what's happened up to the point of this game but you're trailing right now you got to put some points up on the board this is where all 11 guys need to be playing together as one you open a drive like that and the entire Playbook opens up on first down from the 44 he's looking to throw it and he just threw that one away safe move didn't see anything Live to play another play [Applause] clock is under four minutes as they come to the line for second down couldn't connect on first down now back to the air can't make the connection there might let him a too much and on that incompletion I think the quarterback was being just a bit too careful trying to throw that ball too far outside obviously aware that the Defenders are coming from the inside you don't want to put it behind the intended target and risk the pick six but he needs to be more accurate they had the big play to start the drive but a couple of misfires now leaves us with third and 10 pocket starts to collapse and they couldn't hold off the heat and he goes down with a sack how frustrating for an offense to not only see the extra defensive back with the dime package but still have their quarterback get hit yeah when you go down this is a passing situation and if you're def lineman I'm pinning my ears back I'm not playing the slightest bit of run I don't care if they run the football I'm getting to the quarterback nice job understanding that rushing the quarterback getting him on the way it's incomplete and they'll turn it over on now offense set on first down they'll keep it on the ground the clock is on their side they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one I I know exactly what I have to do here defensively we got to get the stop so we're playing run we're selling out to run because we're thinking they're going to run the football and we got three timeouts let's use them wisely let's use those timeouts save as much clock as we can so our offense has some time on the clock to do some damage when they get the football back back to pass Sanders quick strike complete he knew exactly where he wanted to go with that one and they've got enough for the first down this offense is not letting up guys they've got a lead here late and they are still taking shots they're still looking for explosive plays this defense just has not had an answer here all game long and the buffal want to move quickly [Applause] we reached the two-minute warning and this offense is that much closer to salting away a victory movement from the linebackers trying to mess with the offensive Line's assignments quick pass on the Fly motion able to scr three yards out of that one somehow it's second and seven quick timeout called by the defense stopping the clock to save as much time as possible for their offense at this point the defense has little choice but to sell out to stop the run on second and seven they'll ride the running back and leave it with him defense uses a timeout quickly trying to get that ball back and preserve time for their offense they're facing a third down give to the running back and he's not going to get there the defense Stands Tall and makes the stop timeout called there by the defense desperate to get the ball back and save as much time as possible so on fourth down here comes the field goal kicker in a huge spot it is perfect and now the lead is even [Music] bigger after putting up the field goal there to kick it away and he takes this from inside the five he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic that they get him on the ground at the 20 they'll snap it from the 20 for the opening play of this drive going up top on first down and the pass H picked off touch down buffalo the defense puts six on the with the big time interception return how about a gamechanging play for this defense stepping in front of the football and knowing what to do with it taking it all the way to the end [Applause] zone let's see if they can roll Snake Eyes in a good way and get the deuce dropping back it's Sanders to the endzone and is picked off running through contact [Applause] [Applause] they're about to kick it away and the defense probably can't wait to get back out there after the pick six and he passes on the Touchback here he comes not nearly as much as he' hoped when he brought it out of the end zone he'll be stopped at the 15 here's this offense with a fresh set of downs he wants to start this drive with a pass makes a connection finally right out of bounds but he has this offense rolling with a first down well this offense has a ton of work left ahead of him here in this two-minute situation late in the game but the drive off to a good start you get the first down you get out of bounds you work in the perimeter of the field that is exactly what you want to do he had the perfect play to open the drive and now they'll snap it again from the 38 coming out on first down with the play fake he's got it they'll get him down but not before he crosses the 50 he's down to the 49 yeah and he runs a quick out route and this is a timing route quarterback has to trust him throw him the football you could tell they've thrown this a time or two nice job nice success clock is still running and they have to get everybody lined up he'll come out throwing on first down he'll take a shot and it's caught touchdown and a nice touchdown continuing to fight continuing to play this one it's pretty much over down multiple possessions this late in the football game it would take a miracle but nice job by this offense continue to fight push the ball down the field make plays [Music] getting set for the point after and it's up and good quick strike offense on that play scoring drive and they finish the drive with a touchdown toss from the 49 they're definitely up against it time running out down two possessions they'll try the onside kick and a few anxious moments but the hands team is able to fall on it their work here is virtually done no need to take any more chances they'll line up in Victory formation with the game in hand the offense choosing to just have the quarterback Tak a kn e [Music]
