welcome to an arbor and the big house home to one of the most story programs in college football and the first one to win a th000 games the Michigan Wolverine and while today is the final home game of the season for one team it is more importantly a celebration Senor day and the hooers will get us underway with the opening kickoff and they desperately wanted to attempt a return but decided not to instead they'll take the touch back the Wolverines offense will get the first swing of the game and not only is this guy the energy and the engine of the offense there's a certain Charisma that he has that sort of elevates everyone around he's got a Moxy about him Rees just seems like when he's in the Huddle he's got 10 other sets of eyeballs looking at him and believing in him to lead this offense down the field towards scoring points this guy is a leader in every sense of the world the emotions and energy figure to be high all day guys because of what's at stake this late in the season really a must win for both teams these are the ones that get your blood moving re you get jacked up man we don't have to say anything in the locker room give these big speeches you know what's at stake Jesse you're ready to rock and roll this is when you prove you're the big dog which is pretty cool too because it's been a long season these teams obviously are both physically and mentally tired but you're right for this kind of game this is the one you circled at the start of the year you knew that this was going to matter there was going to be a lot on the line now it's time to go out and prove you're the better team really nice job there by both guys the throw and the catch to work that defense and get the first down the Wolverines come to the line with a fresh set of downs leaves it with the running back at the 35 he's loose he's Off to the Races touchdown Wolverine and once he found some daylight it was time to make a house call and to have a rushing touchdown of that type of yardage you've got to be able to make something Miss it's one thing to get into the second level but can you make that last Defender Miss and you saw it on that play once he was in the clear with his speed he was gone lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown drive from inside the 10yd line he'll bring it back not a lot of space to be found good Hustle by the coverage team and they stop him at the 21 so Indiana's offense will get the ball for the first time here are our impact players for this game and it goes beyond executing an assignment to make an impact in the game yeah obviously we were talking to both coaching staffs this week and we ask them who needs to step up and play well they immediately pointed to these guys right here they are the key for their respective teams yeah they don't always show up in the Box world but these the guys are the leaders these are the guys getting everybody organized and have to play well for their team to succeed and that's going to fall to the ground incomplete that was a physical match up there third down coming this crowd bringing the energy and noise early oh he wants it all and he's got it inside the 35 and they were looking for a chunk play and they got it the explosive picks up more than 30 out of the gun the running back has it he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three last play was a near disaster now dealing with second and 13 to the air it's Cherry Pockets starts to collapse nowhere close on that one as he got drilled trying to deliver the football and now they face third down looking to throw and he needs a bunch and that's incomplete a defend all over him knock the ball to the ground fourth down coming up they'll play it safe and send out the field goal unit looks as if this will be a 51 yd attempt the official says no good guys they could have cut the deficit in half if that field goal had been good still down by six and here comes the Michigan offense back on the field D they love to do what they did last time and put this one in the end zone you ain't lying they did a great job the off was clicking everything went well Palmer they executed and got the touchdown and they really were in a nice Rhythm as well and I'd love to see that here on the next drive too just keep doing what you're doing everything seems to be working and you seem to have this defense on their heel and he's a real Nowhere Man tackled in this no gain land they line up and it is a long way to the sticks from here wide out in motion on third down going up top going to try to pop one on the screen defense was not fooled by that screen to the back and they'll stop him short of the marker it'll be fourth down and the Wolverine send out the punt unit the punter going to get his first work of the afternoon you'd think they would have had a good chance to down that one deep but the the bounce carries it into the end zone for the Touchback Indiana has the ball back and the hoer offense comes out ready to go we talk about settling for points but sometimes when you have to settle for nothing and they get to the quarterback and knock him down back at the 16 a first down sack can wreck a drive let's see what they've got on second and 14 scanning the field it's Cherry they're trying to get to it and the pressure is coming in and they get him again listen to this crowd just shaking the gers of this place trying to help their defense and it falls incomplete but it could have been much much worse as the defender was right there the hooers will line up to punt it away doesn't say much for your drive when you're looking forward to the punt on first down here comes this offense here we go [Applause] reverse nowhere to run on that one he loses four on the carry and that play shows you really what this defense is about it's a difficult one to attack they're really good one of the best in the country they come at you from all angles so I I'm interested to watch how do you mix up the play calling how do you keep the defense off balance cuz they are a good one the express way is wide open and the tackle was made but not before that completion gets them 30 plus he dialed up a beauty on that last one it got him inside the red zone now it's first and 10 from the 16 heret away from the [Applause] defense going to work on second down in the red zone is still some ground to cover to pick up that first down they'll run the counter and with that stop we are headed toward the end of the first [Applause] quarter we reached the end of the period and Michigan has the lead guys let's have a look at the stats as we played one [Applause] period back on the field after the break and we'll start the quarter here on third down they'll try to pick up the first through the air and that's not the way they drew it up it's incomplete now on fourth down they'll try to come away with three and he'll try it from the right hash and the angle shouldn't be too bad from this distance right down the boulevard it's good so after the last Drive ended with a field goal the kickoff team out there to send it away and he takes this from inside the five he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 Indiana sends the offense onto the field boy three and out last time David they'd like to be more productive this time around yeah in the last Drive nothing really clicked no rhythm got off the field really really quickly they need to put something together here yeah David bad execution on that last drive so they got to take a collective breath and start playing like a unit on this drive gets it out fast and he goes out of bounds after coming up with positive yardage there now looking for that first down on Third and short from the 26 quarterback reacting to what the D is showing and that defense doesn't allow a cut back and they get him out of bounds after a short gain and now about this lower intestinal fortitude four than one in your own territory and they're going fights off a Defender he's got enough for the first down they spotted at the 37 and a lot of times when you're in your own territory and it's fourth and one you see the offense try to draw people off sides no sir they said we're going to get this thing we need one yard we got one yard we worked on it all week they were successful nice aggressiveness early in their own territory they stop him almost immediately short gain there and still a little ground cover pick up the first pre snap Motion in the back field looking for a man it's cherry and they couldn't hold off the heat and he goes down with a sack Here Comes This Home crowd as the defense tries to get off the field on third down looking to throw and he needs a chunk play and he makes the catch inside the 20 touchdown Indiana what a grab and go for the score number can these guys just score from anywhere out there after that drive it sure looks that way and that's what separates really good offenses from great offenses when you're backed up in a bad position and you can still fight your way out they'll get you a touchdown that's a great drive by the offense he'll start the return inside his five really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 Michigan ready to get that offense rolling again and to settle for the Chip Shot field goal last time Jesse they'd love for this one to pay off bigger yeah it just comes down to execution too did a nice job out in the field stalled a little bit once they got down to the goal line so they just need to be a little bit more crisp here yeah and listen I I think the first part was the most important part you got to put the drive together first to get down there now when we get down there focus on execution and getting six points they'll keep it on the ground got to be smart patient great vision uses all of that to get to the 29 they'll try to muscle there Way Forward on Third and short from the 29 trying to pick it up on the ground at the 40 there he goes and they'll move the chains and get it to the 47 yd line and they may have caught the defense snapping there a little bit David maybe expecting pass on that third down but because of the backs effort now fresh set it down and it's so nice to have a guy that you can give the football on these third down situations and feel confident you're going to continue oh it's a fumble and the defense grabs it and they're taking it the other way the more hats you have near the football the more likely you are to cause a fumble so many guys with their hands wrapping around guys the ball's bound to pop out occasionally and you got to be in the right place at the right time the Run game just has not been working for this offense all game long saw it on that last play as well just not getting enough push up front on the offensive line they haven't been physical dropping back it's cherry right down the middle all kinds of room to throw that one in there and he'll haul it in and take it to the end zone touchdown hoers one of the reasons this offense is so exciting to watch they've got guys that are dangerous after the catch if this quarterback gets through his progression David he HS you in stride these guys will take it to the house man it's your job to do the rest right you hit me in stride where I don't have to stop running I don't have to break down it makes it so easy the connection between quarterback wide receiver you can tell this is a good one and that's why they got six on that play So they start this drive from inside their own 20 e e Y Line running back searching for a hole crosses the 30 he got away and he was Off to the Races and he gets it to the 45 yeah I tell you what I'm always keeping track as a defensive coordinator where they're running with football you can see they ran to the right do they like this matchup is the right side of their offensive line really good I'm going to be pay attention to that cuz that's a big game I got to make sure I shut this down the next time they run they make the stop but the sweet throwing catches plenty to give him a first down this offense always looking for those big explosive plays and now they've got it just inside the 30 to the air on first down catch in the middle it's Morgan I love playing manto man defense and I love getting up in your kitchen and jamming you at the line of scrimmage but it's really hard when they start running these Crossing routes and drags and ends because now I'm in Chase mode and the QB has a little bit of space A lot of times and those fast guys can create some separation and get a first down like they did now a nice job by the QB there timing out that drag throw it's Zone coverage so he's got to make sure he gets it to his receiver in a window to allow him to catch the ball and then turn it up field fires downfield touchdown Michigan oh it in and just kept right on running to the Hallelujah land that touchdown grabbed the 25th of his career not surprising either when you've got this guy's ability at that position quarterbacks are going to be looking for you 25 touchdown catches that's an impressive F yeah he's definitely one of those guys that have been so big time Big Time moments clutch plays you know makes those contested catches is a guy that can do everything and that's why he's putting up such great stats finds the tight end how about this backer in pass coverage and bringing the big hit stick with him too that completion leaves us with second IMM medium back to throw it's Cherry looking deep it's caught and they knock him down but he got past the line of game it's first and 10 from the 38 yd line looking to move it through the air caught over the middle it's Becker and how about that catch and run so dangerous this guy there's a timeout called as this offense tries to find a way to draw a little closer trying to find his man on first down sends it down field and it's caught inside the 15 touchdown Indiana and once he found daylight it was Katie Bar the Door baby and with the extra point they're on top by five they got the touchdown on the board now about to kick it away and hoping the defense can keep them from answering on the move from inside is five and good work by the coverage team to knock down the Return Man guys Here Come Those Maze and blue winged helmets on offense now they're backed up here Jesse wonder how aggressive they're willing to be I think it's going to come down to how much confidence they have in this quarterback in his decision making because you cannot throw an interception at this part of the field with this little time left and I think that's conversations you've had with a young fell on the sidelines being like what are you comfortable with right here that we can run maybe stay aggressive but make sure I don't make that mistake they'll knock him down and that'll take us to halftime that's going to wrap up the first half here and now we join Kevin with the halim update indana all teed up and ready to go here in the second half number set a kick one away looking for an alley from inside his own 10 really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 this drive will start from the 19 yd line they keep it on the ground to open the third and maybe he'll get back to the line of scrimmage but no more than that this is a defense that we know takes tons of Pride stopping the Run that's where it all start and ends with them and you saw a great effort on that last play makes the catch it's forward now they've got even more breathing room out to the 31 and a fresh set of downs they've got the Big Fellas out there a three tight end look on First and 10 finding a way to put that foot in the ground and get it up to the 37 yd line coaches always harp about staying ahead of the chance and when you can run with that type of efficiency on first down man you are doing just that he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three how frustrating is that you're that running back where were you supposed to go there was absolutely no Lane for him on that play to the air it's Cherry a strike down field all kinds of Running Room touchdown hoers he broke away from the defense and they couldn't catch it and with that pass right there over 300 y That's a good at the office being able to execute doing a good job seeing what's coming anticipating taking some shots today but has H really strong put up some good numbers and they thought about a return Then thought better of it they'll bring it out to the 25 and here comes the Michigan offense back on the field they'll put this one in play first snap of the drive from the 25 power football with the Run Works ahead for a couple they'll stop him at the 27 and the defense doing a great job committing to the run when you commit to the run like this obviously you can give up some plays in the passing game but you got to stop the run first out of the gun they'll run it inside he'll push his way out to the 38 pick up of three if every Journey begins with a step this offense needs to step into a third down conversion and then try to turn it into some scores and fast from the gun wants to pass and this sophomore able to wak some havoc and get the sack and a great job by the defense dropping in zone coverage all eyes on the quarterback taking away the options and then finally the pass rush gets home gets him on the ground now a fair catch is called for in may just shy of Midfield Indiana has the ball back and the hooer offense comes out ready to go that last Drive really productive David wound up with a touchdown they'll try to do it again yeah so I don't expect this offense to change too much Reese they had a great Drive they got the touchdown everything working I would expect him to keep pushing this ball down here and just imagine if they could put another touchdown on the board and that pressure just engulfed him a sack for this defense they've got some work to do on this third and long from the 40 looking downfield it's Cherry fires left got his Man Down field a huge gain on that one before he ran out of bounds and he has the first down and the hooers come to the line with a new set of downs from the Red Zone looking for a receiver using the quick game touchdown Indiana and they add six more to the board with that trip to the house number the Mantra is always finished and they're trying to do that here in the regular season with this week 12 performance so after reviewing the undisputable video evidence the replay booth has decided to overturn the call if this dude and he takes it to the house touchdowners the offense strikes again to extend its lead here in the second half and they got everything working how great is this you extend your lead now you get your defense back on the field great job taking advantage of the situation and building on that [Applause] lead Michigan ready to get that offense rolling again the last time we saw this offense we had to look quick it was a three and out Jesse he just had no rhythm in that last drive so someone's going to have to step up and make a play David and get this thing going yeah let's find some juice find your guy find those plays that you know you can run Inside Out forward backwards get some first downs get some positive momentum on second down they'll take to the air grabbed over the middle it's Morgan that is exactly what you're looking for when you talk explosive plays the defense finally able to make the stop we talked a lot about Michigan building its offense around the running game but they've always had an effective quarterback who can make plays down the field and I think some people here effective Reese and take that as an insult right like I don't want to hear about my quarterback being effective I want him to be explosive I want him to be dynamic but Michigan doesn't really have those guys most of the time at that quarterback spot but when they find those good ones they have great Seasons to throw it's Boston throws to the tight end complete downfield finally brought down at the 31 it's a pickup of 15 yds on the play and they've got a first down a really nice job by the quarterback putting some extra heat on that throw as a defensive back I'm going to drive to that curl try to get there really quick to try to break up the pass but when the QB puts it that hard on the money with that much accuracy really hard route to think makes the tackle right at the 21 yd line pick up of 10 on the play and this offense is threatening with a first down [Applause] clock strike zero here in the quarter and Indiana is on top let's take a quick look at the national rankings to see how this playoff race is shaping up they'll break the seal on this quarter here on first down used the play fake now to throw and that pass intercepted and he's brought down the pick but not before putting his offense in business and as a defensive lineman late in the game man when you know it's passed you're pinning your ears back trying to get to the quarterback and DBS are trying to do this had them stats get the int nice job by this D it's going to be tough sledding for the offense here they're trying to ice this game by running the football and leeding the clock they've got a pretty good lead here late in the game but the defense knows the run's coming right so they're going to be loading the line of scrimmage getting stops like what they just did interesting to see what the offense does on this next one not exactly the ideal situation for this offense third and long backed up inside their 20 and he's not going to get there the defense Stands Tall and makes the stop the hooers will bring the punt team onto the field this will be the second time they've had to kick it [Applause] away fourth down and the punt team sends it the other way now a fair catch is called for a may just shy of Midfield guys Here Come Those Maze and blue Wing helmets on offense boy they had that last Drive proving a little bit David but then the mistake just crushed them yeah and those mistakes are going to happen you going to throw the football you're going to throw interceptions but I think I stay agressive with this offense I get back to what I did in the first part of that drive what made me successful I agree David just the page if you're a quarterback right on this drive you did a lot of good things there leading up to that pick forget about it move on play the next play unloads to the wide out wide open downfield TouchDown Wolverine that is the ultimate grab and go for the score you know quarterbacks and receivers they develop confidence and chemistry as the game goes on these two right now are definitely on the same page about to kick it off after you get in for the touchdown he'll bring it out it's coffee nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the 16 Indiana sends the offense onto the field they still have the lead here Jesse but this would be a good time to put together a drive you're right ree you can't rest easy right now you just watch the opponent drive down the field and score a touchdown of their own so You' got to answer that here your Playmakers better step up and I don't know what it is about moment in all the locker rooms in all the years coaching everything you can't quantify it you can't measure and the momentum has swung to the other side you got to get it back at this point of the game the offense has the lead the offensive coordinator knows they want to keep running the football so he's going back he's looking at his playl list and he's saying which runs work the best for me in this game what can I lean on right here to make sure we win this one better find the earplugged here comes the noise backing this defense on third down dropping back it's Cherry working the middle of the field and it's complete ripping off a pretty good chunk of yardage they've got it out to the 41 with a first down and the hooers are rolling down the field they'll run it to keep this clock grinding and a decent gain there before the defense makes the stop these situations are pred so much in college football finishing a game strong understanding circumstances they are running the football right at you trying to keep that clock moving get a few first downs and get a w and they'll stop him just short of the first down just inches away from moving the sticks we reached the two-minute warning and this offense is that much closer to salting away a victory on Third and short they'll ride the running back here and he just needed a few inches and he didn't get it the defense denies this offense the hooers will pun it away on fourth down fair catch called for and made and here comes the Michigan offense back on the field so they start this drive from inside their own 20 at the 19 yd line he'll start this drive firing finds his tight end at the 35 he's got M and oh he was off to the RAC after the catch and they finally drag him down looking to go up top on first down and it's incomplete it was wild high and wide on that one line getting set on second down he's looking to throw snagged in the middle it's Hansen there to make the tackle but the big throw is good enough to give them a first down they immediately call timeout trying to preserve every second they can to try to rally here late they'll throw it on first down holds it in defense needs to regroup as he gets it down to the 26 clock is still running and they have to get everybody lined up looking to throw it again fires to the wide out ball in the air intercepted and they'll close in on him after a good return on the interception that should be the nail in the cin what a great break on the football getting the big turnover you got the lead now just go out there be smart on offense and run that clock a strong methodical workmanlike effort from this team No Frills just get the job done and get the win I love when you describe my teams like that just consistent you know methodical strong I don't have to do things special every single week all I'm supposed to do is get the W and that's what they did and this is why practice is so important guys you can tell that this team was locked in way back earlier in the week they watched the film they got good looks in practice they knew what to anticipate they knew what looks they were going to see and
