sometimes a walk can get you back on track less than a 250 on base percentage over his last 10 games so that kind of tells me that he's jumpy he's not recognizing the pitches and he's out of his plate discipline I got to think he's looking for ways to try to simplify that approach and I think if you can just let the ball travel a little bit deeper make sure you see it that will help you to put good ABS together and even if you don't get hits you'll draw some walks swing and a miss struck him out and now here is Harper and another [Applause] ball struck him out swinging and that's strike out number one we go to the bottom of the first the batter now Christian Walker right through there for a strike next pitch is out side count kicks and the other way schwarber takes it himself one up one down now it's Chas Peterson one down B is empty swing in a Miss nice change up two ball two stri waves at the Bender for the strike out that's a curveball that I'm sure he wants back at the plate two strikes sort of pitch you're hoping for a bit of a mistake and I'd say in a very hitable location but clearly the break was enough to get him to swing through it him looking for the K and the Diamond one because you doubt thech wants this to go to a 3-1 count Turner with the throw to first and quickly one away in the second [Music] now next offering is in for a strike SS and misses him out off to a strong start singy as he's punched out three of the first five he's faced oh he's definitely minimizing contact he can get the swing and miss when he needs it but also keep the defense fresh behind him allowing some balls in play as well on the ground stop gathers and throws to First and Arizona all set for the start of the inning and digging in for Philadelphia Bryson stop next pitch misses inside and it's two and one swing as he was latec difficult to catch up to especially with that velocity and another B and down on strikes lead off H gone in the third very right there as a speedy potential base runner when with two strikes you just struggle to put the ball in play you don't have to get a hit at that point you can help your team just by reaching on an ER but some got to find a way toen up the swing and put the ball in play next time and that one is lifted in the air and it's caught for the out with marfield up to the plate that one hammer but pull foul top of the third no a steel situation but that's not your average catcher behind the dish you have to be careful here at the belt and fires and another ball so here we go base run at first could be running on the pitch he's got good enough speed to steal the bag get scoring position even if it's a swing and Miss at the plate runner on the goal come back her to the m he made the pitcher earn that out after a long at for that shut down in get that hot team back in there to swing theats sharp grounder that's through for a base hit so a man on [Music] basei hands in for the Phillies and now the Lefty Turner runs they pitch out and safe it's a stolen base singy he definitely showed off the wheels there yeah and it turned out to be a bang bang play stat cast gives us the data and that stolen base wasn't possible without that Sprint speed Peterson on to first that's the first out in the top of the four that's a good pce hitting right there it's early but you still want to move the runner up and give your team a chance to score that's exactly what happened so you better believe your teammates are happy with you after that advat so now one and two clearly F right there it just ended up out in Fr of the Le Fielder Alec Thomas well new pitcher will be the Lefty Matt strong well he's been a really tough guy to take deep this season you usually have to string some hits together in order to get to the best in the game righty delivers comes up empty that's strike two high drive that's a basee hit now he turns and heads for second there comes the throw the tag out got the hustle and the attitude there to try to stretch that single into a double but unfortunately thrown out at second base he was so forced to be in in scoring position so digging in now for Philadelphia Johan Roos one down base opposite didn't get jumpy didn't try to the ball let it bar right to it and then extend it through the swing for the line drive base hit and now a chance to maybe get creative on offense with good speed on First and digging in for Philadelphia Whit marfield swing a miss and the count and two and another ball the two strikes may see some movement over there at first base trying to stay out of the double play right [Applause] here looking that's a strike down well he's going to have some thinking to do when he leaves the ballark after this one that was his third strike out and this one got to feel good about that just a cookie down the middle I mean those are the ones you dream about on in the cage you're just hoping you get in the ball game right down the middle not a whole lot of velocity right on top of it fouls one off two and two runner at third nobody out here the bottom half of the eighth inning that misses and the counts full gets a piece there we'll do it again inside Ball Four next to hit for Arizona jce Peterson and that gets the inside corner for a strike Runners on the corners no outs Twins and misses it's a strike out slider got him for strike three next to hit Corbin Carroll there's a strike of the knees and a count one and two that one the other way Turner quick feed to Second for one thr to first but he beat it and it's lordis Gorel Jr first offering runner go strike in there throw second Chris there aren't many players faster than him and stast demonstrates that for us right here yeah it breaks down the data for us on a close play and that speed is about as fast as we've ever seen Bo and clearly it was the Difference Maker on that play spoils that one and it remains two and two kicks and deal right side stop throws the first in time they did not like the call oh man just locked him up with that slider even though caught a lot of his Zone and I think that tells you all you need to know about what he was looking for in thex and C was not that pitch this could end it and it's Ball Four he missed down low you know I think he's okay with that outcome it wasn't an intentional walk but he wasn't exactly trying to attack the Zone either so two down and now Christian pce tying run at the plate wouldn't chase that time Big Pitch coming right here last thing he wants to do is put the tying run on base but he can't Groove one either they're down to the final strike focusit the tying run at the plate battling here as he fouls it away kicks and fires and he walked him pretty much the last thing you want from your Bullpen arms are next pitch couple Runners on probably a challenge pitch coming and another ball this is a really good feeling for a hitter at this point in the ball game you know that they don't want to walk you so you're going to get a pitch to hit just better swing a and it's three and two so both Runners should be on the move here on the Full Count pitch yeah this is a good chance to tie up this ball game see
