“They’ve Soundtracked Our Lives” Liam And Noel Gallagher Confirm Oasis’s Reunion For 2025

Steve Dan here uh from Virgin Radio Steve very good morning to you very good morning Mike just fresh from the uh cow Fest I saw you on Saturday was it a great weekend was a fantastic weekend absolutely fantastic I mean we I mean it didn't start out like that we were driving down onto Saturday morning and it was absolutely bucketing down and we thought blimy you know when we got there it was a little bit muddy but it all cleared up in the afternoon by the time you were there we were getting sunburn watching Jake shears little bit cold muddy but a Great British Festival you know fantastic Festival yeah organized by Chris Evans brilliantly um and yeah he's he's a great host isn't he and just all smiles around and people of all ages coming along with their family so many repeat visitors and all raising money I mean 24 million they've raised for kids Charities so hats off to Chris and the team is you know amazing absolutely brilliant you're here to talk about rases of course this morning true to their word 8 a.m. the the the the news came out they're going to play gigs in Cardiff Manchester London Edinburgh and Dublin tickets going on sale Saturday this is going to be huge isn't it I mean it's that they are a band of a generation I think every day I've been on Virgin Radio for the last decade we've spoke about would they ever do it probably wouldn't do it rumors started flowing over the weekend at the end of a blossom gig that date popped up and then it was shared on their social media the very latest we can hear is that Liam and N were laughing at their reunion photos the first time apparently they've been in a room together for 14 years um a rather poetic quote from the boys they said the guns have Fallen silent the stars have aligned the great weight is over come see it will not be televised yes so huge it all starts Cardis principality Stadium on the fourth and 5th of July next year now I'm hearing from Ellie hemman at the Sun newspaper they've actually booked 10 Dates Wembley Stadium only four have been announced at the moment but what they want to do is obviously break Taylor Swift's record saw which was eight so absolutely it's just incredible stuff I mean it really is I mean I was watching phone because there been so much on social media since this all uh excitement started and there was a there was a a whole series of um clips from nworth from 19 96 I think it was um uh which I didn't see but I saw them in glasgo fun enough because my mate Donald McLoud who works up in Scotland runs things up there he put them on at Lo lman um I think Chris was actually there he know he sort of knows him from there and he said it was just incredible like nothing he'd ever seen before where they suddenly when they did nworth it was the same just thousands of thousands of people tens of thousands hundreds of thousands probably um and some of the the the music the songs the performances just you can't they they've soundtracked Our Lives you know whether you're a fan or not those songs I saw Liam gallago the Royal Albert Hall last year it was a solo show but um it was rockus it was beer being chucked around but as soon as they did wonder wall Don't Look Back in Anger there's grown men with tears in their eyes you know those songs you know kids have been born relationships have been formed we've lost people to those songs when that awful Manchester Arena attack happened they played Don't Look Back in Anger it's they're a band of a generation and this is just huge so I think people I went to see Taylor Swift the other month I was sat next to a guy who was a dad he went if only if only this was Oasis you know I could properly get into is there is there something I mean there's always going to be these questions but I mean is there something that you know they're much older now um they're not in sort of the lad from Manchester you know they're not just little hooligans that used to go to football and now they're rock stars I mean they their dads they might be grandads they're in their 50s now they're in their 50s you know it was a bit like when you know I used to watch the who singing I hope I die before I get old when they were old it kind of didn't quite have the same ring to it you know and the same with with with um the kind of the Swagger that they've got Now is it going to be different do you think well it's interesting there's a black and white picture on everyone's timeline this morning this new picture that they got together they still look pretty cool they do I mean I think they like well no's a big fan of talk sport he comes into talk sport quite a bit um I don't know if he's he's coming in anytime soon but you know he's been in and out of here and he's a he's he's a great character yeah as is Liam you know Liam was on with Chris Evans a year ago but it's interesting they both been in they've both said within the last 18 months it's never going to happen don't focus on it it's a waste of energy it's really interesting obviously no Gallagher's had his had his other band he's band the highflying birds on the go right you know they were good they never I mean how could you match what what Oasis achieved I mean those they are a rock band of a generation so it' be interesting to see what happens I think I'm a bit anxious could they fall out again before well I remember back to um the Olympics in 2012 and the closing ceremony Liam sang the closing ceremony I think he was I think the Hoover there as well fin enough and no I remember afterwards very cuttingly um said on on some inter or other you know I didn't really enjoy that Oasis tribute band that came on at the end and and Liam's voice sounded awful um but I think he's he's sort of recovered his voices then hasn't he yeah I saw him at the Royal outb Hall um a year and a half ago and it was incredible like really incredible and look let's face it we will help them out uh because we all know their words for Bas don't we it's you know it's an incredible thing to see and there's so many songs as well and they're such great songs and those started the whole kind of brick Popp when we left cuz we didn't stay on Saturday night we were in the car and and we just started playing our AC songs in the car and it was brilliant driving what we do isn't it yeah absolutely tremendous stuff one other story just to touch upon Before I Let You Go Mariah Cary a very strange story that she's revealed that both her mother and her sister died on the same day yeah incredibly tragic she posted out she said my mother Patricia and sister Allison have both died on the same day she said my heart is broken I've lost my mother this past weekend um nobody really knows the details behind this but so strange that she lost her sister yeah as well on the same day she's asked for uh for privacy but you can only imagine the Heartbreak absolutely uh you know mom's been there we don't know anything about the sister interestingly enough but I mean what a thing to happen and you know our hearts go out to her she's given so many people um a lot of pleasure over the years got a 40-year career one of those arti we feel like we know we grown up with Diva demands the great songs you know uh but what a terrible thing song if nothing else that everybody loves you know she be gearing up to be over here
