but it justes feel oh not really actually it's what did Wimbledon finished mid J mid July it's been it's weird it feels like the US Open usually is way past wi but feels like wion was yesterday anyways we're starting with Jang taking on an in over so we're starting with a bang one of the best matches in the first round that we could have planned I mean if you look at the draw there's a few matches that stand out and this is one of them and they put it on first which is very rare that we have a really awesome match to start the tournament usually it's like oh we'll have you know a couple of interesting matches nothing nothing massive but this is like this could have been tonight and we you know it could have been a night match first night so let's have a look cuz they're playing they're about to walk out of court apparently it's going to rain but we got roues here so it doesn't matter if it rains it can rain it can rain it's fine don't worry about it all right so there's the draw plenty of matches happening obviously day one of a grand slam is like Christmas uh and you get all the presents and there Dash is playing Dash is playing chat we just Dash is playing uh also ver and a bunch of other players but um there it is you can see there or and also um or uchima sorry or Nei and and your stre SC is also in this section of the draw so it's a pretty pretty stack section um or pretty a pretty interesting section especially cuz Jung last week wasn't great so she's going to have some work to do and also isova there's probably been the best player in this section over the last couple weeks on on hardc also veic and kazakina in this section as well uh so I would say it's kind of open especially the winner of this match might be the favorite to get through [Music] all right Amanda N over she's 49 in the world was a little bit unlucky not to me be seated she had played in Cincy and dwell there as well maybe she would have been in the top 32 but she's not here she's not and she's here 22 years old from USA she's 511 right-handed 17 wins and 10 losses on the year she has no titles this year but she's got two career titles uh and her form has been great making the final cada a couple weeks ago and queen Jong that Olympic gold medal not wrapped around her neck I don't think she bought it in like jovic did but I'm sure she has it somewhere at home 21 years old from China she is 510 right-handed 25 wins 13 losses on the year she's a title this year as well that was the Olympics three career titles and you can see there her uh her form has been amazing didn't play great last week but it has been good overall by the way if it's l if the stream is lagging just refresh and it should be fine it should be fine um these two I don't think I've ever played before play a second first time meeting between these two so no matches between these two and by the way it's funny cuz like Jung feels like she's been around for a while and N mova has been around for a while 5 years ago she made a run at the French but they're only 21 and 22 they like they're just getting started so it's it's kind of crazy to think that uh you know and this over's been a semi-finals of a grand slam uh you know made the final of Canada the other week hasn't won too many t but you know if she stays healthy she should be fine and then also uh jang's got a gold medal and they're both 21 and 22 like they've just getting started right it's crazy all right why do I feel have a feeling that can pull this off that would be uh I don't think it' be a massive upset if Jang was to lose today to anissimova anova's been been good enough to to pull off an upset like that I think would be uh wouldn't be surprised if Anissa mova won um I don't it would be an upset I guess in in a way but it wouldn't be the biggest shock in the world right uh let's go verab he's on Grand standand yes verb's coming on as well we'll keep an eye on him we got Shelton versus Team coming up in about an hour so we're going to do a double header with that one uh then we've got go later we've also got jovic tonight uh and then a couple matches in between tomorrow though is is going to be wild tomorrow is is a big big day uh today's kind of it's all right I mean there's a few few good matches and few matches we have to watch but tomorrow is like jam-packed I don't know what to do I don't know what we're going to do but we we'll watch it we definitely watch it she was on her way until uh her her dad passed away yeah I remember yeah yeah she was playing she was playing Super well her dad passed away which is sad she's also had injuries as well she had time off you know she didn't she didn't play for a while but um yeah hopefully I mean she does a she does she does play differently or does do things differently than most people she does take extended periods of time away from the tour like she'll take a couple months off and then come back she doesn't play week in week out travel the world with like you know she kind of she kind of plays here and there so you know it's a different way of doing it I don't know how you know the consistency of it all uh might not put her in the top 10 but you know whatever works right and when she plays well she we know how good she can be right no we're not watching Z we're going to watch ver played with rosor but unfortunately rosor withdrew so yeah kind of like ranu but ranu ranu travels a lot more and she just I mean ranu has been more injured right uh recently anyway quter much slower than ciny sayson I mean ciny was the fastest quar of the year that's what everyone's been saying right so it's good that it's a little slower that means gives uh those Baseline Defenders a chance yeah I wouldn't call that much of an upset yeah it wouldn't be a massive upset if over one because she's been playing well if it is over hadn't been playing well then it maybe it would be a massive upset gold medalist of played in the fourth round I maybe I would maybe a pictor but I think because I think it's just like an added like okay you've got play you got to play e Fon on a on a surface and if Fon makes the quarterfinals you know depending on her results maybe she has a couple of three setters but if she makes the quarterfinals you got to thinkon is playing okay and then pag has got to play try and win her first quarterfinal of a major in America against fance I mean that's like a whole bunch of different things so I'm like ah I'll back I'll back fonc in that situation if we get to that situation last set I tell you she win the last set of this Us open as well W let's go um yeah so the reason why I think Jung's struggling not only because she's playing in isov who's just smacking the crap out of the wall but I mean the Olympics is so much different Court wise you know the court surface she went from the slowest surface which is roll on gal clay to what a lot of players are saying is the fastest Court they've ever played on in ciny and then this is faster than well faster than usual at the US Open not as fast as ciny but still very quick so she's gone from the slowest to the fastest and now to like a slightly again a faster Court plus she's playing on a fast court against a big hitter so I just don't think Jang has adapted well to the to the hard courts and she hasn't had time right I mean most of the time once we go after Wimbledon you can play on hard Courts for a couple of weeks then you can play some tournaments you got Washington you got Canada you got ciny and then the US Open Jang didn't have that you know Jang went to the French Open rollan Garris to win the Olympics she skipped Canada and then she went to Cincy played one match got beat and then she came here and now she's playing one of the worst players you could play in a first round of a of a big tournament like this especially on this this speed of court so that's why I think Jang it's not that jang's just oh man she fell off she just hasn't adapted well you know to the to the court speed plus she's getting a very tough first round opponent we over made I mean Anissa MOA was made the final of Canada right I mean this is not this is not like Anissa hasn't played for like you know for months and she you know she hasn't done anything andov has been there you know she almost won Canada anyways she double faults love 40 I mean Jang lost to Pavia Chen of a third round weird loss but um but again just hasn't had the time that everyone else has had to get past I mean past the um past clay courts and onto hard courts J hits a winner off the top of the net and it's love uh sorry it's 51 5-2 Jung is not a top 10 player well she is she's like number seven so I mean she's a top game player nightmare but if anisimova wins won this match or wins this match then isova could be the one who goes on and does that right there's just so many of those matches you know OST Peno Osaka is another one right there's so many of those 5050 and if you don't get those right your whole bracket is screwed um you know obviously there's going to be upsets we all know that but there were just so many of
