[Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] oh almost 60,000 fans have poured into outon stadium and as usual they're revved up for this one and now the coin toss and it's presented by Nissan Innovation that [Music] excites the Broncos we'll see how this game plays out as they get ready for the opening kickoff he just drills this one and it goes into the end zone down for a Touchback the quarterback brings his troops out onto the field for the first drive of the game 1 [Applause] 1 and he is drilled at the 18 yd line man it's an offensive lineman this is the worst thing that you want to see is your quarterback not only getting sacked but getting hit like that those linemen better pick that quarterback up and start doing a better job at taking care of [Applause] it so the sack makes this a second and long bettering you know right [Applause] now tackle made at the 29 that's a gain of 11 the that'll bring up 36 thunder thunder [Applause] halfbacks got it on the quick throw he's knocked out of Bounds at about the 45 I'm not sure if the back was his first option but he got in the ball and he was able to make something big [Applause] [Music] happen tackle at the 42 yd line that is a loss of three yards that brings up second and [Applause] 13 second and 13 ball on the 42 Larry Larry it up mik 13 mik 1 here's an opening gains his way to the 49 yd line of nine on the play Third Down 1 13 easy easy [Applause] pulls down the catch and he's got room here the offense gets a first down here you got to give him some credit but really this is more about the defense when when a defense gets an offense to third down and medium you've got to be able to put pressure on a quarterback especially when they're passing the football and try to get your own offense the ball back that time they let their own offense down he might have a chance and he's tackled at the 32 yd line so they go on the ground and pick up another first down they are stringing together a nice little drive here if they keep this up it'll be hard to keep them out of the end [Applause] [Music] zone Andy's Tackle after positive yardage the tail back picks up a solid seven yards on the counter play that make it and reg regular regular quick throw and he's taken down at about the 11 y on the play first down watch one watch one got passes it to the middle of the field touchdown [Applause] ducks and did that play ever develop nicely well it's all of about the receiver on this play he beat his man off the line and then ran a perfect route all he had to do after that was make the catch they got great concentration from everyone to connect on that flag pattern he makes the pat a nice 10 play 74 yd drive and they put up seven points BR I thought that was a textbook dve I thought they did a really good job of showing balance mixing the play calling with the Run in the past just an overall well executed touchdown drive so the score now 7 nothing he gets out to about the 22 yd line the Broncos and their ground games always been Sensational it's not always one guy Herby sometimes they've got two or three that can carry the L and that's what makes it so tough for this defense is you're not focusing in on just one guy you're focusing in on really an entire scheme and because of that diversity I think it makes it more of a challenge and you got to be better tacklers in the open field and and I think that's really what they've stressed all week is tackling and gang tackling and getting to the football hard to get to guys and make tackles in [Applause] space pass right running back's got it and he breaks a tackle and now he's got room to run and down he goes around the 46 yd line gain of 20 yds that makes it first and 10 [Applause] from the 46 yd line first down hey alert 48 hey 48 right let's go down catches it and he's looking for more and they push him out at about the 37 yd line call it a gain of n y that brings up second and one we got tight left tight left four down four down Hey look 48 hey 48 go he steps up that's a great tackle at the 34 that's a gain of three on the play first down from the 34 yd line it's first down [Applause] 4 they'll give it off here he's away sends it sailing downfield this one's going to be down in the end zone for a Touchback I was really impressed with their last series they came out with a focus on the passing game and the offense got the job done we'll see if they have the same strategy here [Music] he fights forward to about the 26 gain of one Roger that brings up second and N Oregon is up by four I got [Applause] him scrambling around and he's going to be sacked loss of four on the play Third [Applause] so that sack will back them up a little now they're looking at a difficult third and 13 M [Applause] mik slings it and they make the stop right around the 28 yd line both offenses trying to find their rhythm in that first quarter low scoring and close right now the Ducks lead 73 [Music] and we welcome you back to the action here just about set to start the second [Applause] quarter gets to about the 37 yd line return for being eight yd there hasn't been too much daylight between these two teams in game like this some players try to press too much and that can cause [Applause] mistakes on the delay and he's brought down immediately noain on the play that makes it from their own 37 yd line Second down [Music] pass out to the tight end but it's incomplete number 87 is the intended receiver on the play that brings up third and 10 TI right tie right down down heyer 4 fires it out tackle made at the 50 it second and two so it's second down and about two yds to go four down four down heyert 48 hey 48 right go and he carries the ball for a nice game that's a gain of five on the play this is the 11th play of this drive first and 10 down down 4 4's go got a man open TouchDown that was a well drawn up play for the wide out and they saw something upstairs it led to a touchdown you can think the play calling there very impressive so the kicker will line up here and try to give his team a three-point lead with this extra point and he TS on the extra [Music] point and it looks like they're ready for the kickoff and he got all of this one great kick and it goes into the End Zone down for a [Applause] Touchback with one quarter down I really haven't seen too much separation between these two squads might be neck and neck the whole [Applause] way makes it out to about the 33 that makes it second and two [Applause] nice run [Music] there CH [Applause] again [Music] EAS here's a throw I don't think he got anything on that that play was going nowhere yeah gave a lot of credit to the defense here recognizing pass and swarming to the receiver from their own third the8 yd line Second down throws to feeling pressure to throw the ball just to throw the ball if you feel like you're not going to be able to make a play and the defense got you just give up on that play and get ready for the next down the punt goes out of bound to the four yd line you know we're getting so used to pinball football with a lot of points kind of fun to see defenses play this well kind of refreshing isn't it I mean every single week we call games and you're seeing scores in the 30s and 40s this is one of those lowc scoring games which all offense will get that big break eventually could be the team that wins it Boise state has a three-point lead takes it up the middle for a nice run Boise States going to take their first time out of the half they line up at the nine second down down down 4 gets to about the 11 yd line the draw play gets made two Ys don't want [Applause] that makes it to the 12 yd line Morgan's going to have to use their second time out of the half [Applause] oh man he took him down hard return for a gain of seven yards in a game that's this close you can't afford to waste [Applause] possessions he's got it out to his tight end he's at the 30 tackle at the 29 yd [Applause] line first down he's looking for six good job here by the defense if you let this quarterback set and throw he'll kill you all game but they got excellent pressure on that play So with a half ending they're just going to try to put three points up on the board it has the distance and he Nails the long field goal so at the end of the half and a 101 tie in this [Applause] game glad to have you with us in the step W two-step squeeze bring your feet arrive with bad intentions I don't want to take anything away from these defensive guys David but could this be that we're seeing a healthy dose of some pretty bad offense too it goes hand in hand doesn't Reese I mean usually sometimes uh you know pretty good defense makes you know average offenses look really really bad but you know when you have a great defense and you can take something away especially the strength of the other offense and make them do things that they don't do exceptionally well and you know don't let them throw the fast ball make them throw the curve and you see great defenses be able to do that all the time and and that's when you can be ultra successful you have to find ways to make people play you know the game out of their comfort zone we've done what we can do here at halftime time to get you back out to the second half we'll keep an eye on everything going on in college football bred nestler and kkb Street ready with a call and the second half just about set to get started we're dead even nice kick plenty of distance this one's going to be down in the end zone for a Touchback a lot of times you'll see teams start to clinch up a little bit when games stay close well into the second half you need to stay loose keep doing what you've been doing all week in practice and execute when it's time he Chucks it downfield no incomplete super effort to get the ball and knock it away real good job down the field that makes it second and 10 second down and 10 to go ball on the 25 yd [Applause] line very good up the middle and he keeps it on the option play and picks up six that will make it second and [Applause] four big opening he's at Midfield he's at the 40 and he's tackled at the 35 yd line 25 on the that'll move the chance for another Oregon first down I got eight I got eight [Applause] got and now he's got room to run number eight with the Run gain of n y that'll make it second in inches twox and he's taken down at the 18 yd line [Music] [Music] [Applause] and they get nice yardage on that run on that make second and four [Music] [Applause] caught and he's hit immediately number 98 brings him down at the 12 yd line third down and they're going to need about three yards to pick up the first down mik 1 mik [Applause] 1 he's on the run and that sets them up with a first and goal of 11 y that makes it first and goal and this is the eighth play of the drive now we'll see how the backup can do after that injury touchdown [Applause] Ducks it takes a lot of strength to run it when you're heading into a massive pile of bodies good job of holding on to it and getting it across the goal line that is a clutch touchdown tie game and they find a way to put it in for six I know there's a lot of time left but that was a big one and he hits the Pat the Ducks he's quarterback taken off earlier I'm on the sideline right now doesn't look like he's in that much pain and I would bet that we'll see him back in the game before the day is over he's to the 20 he gets out to about the 22 yd line Oregon's a type of team when you look at them it looks like their defense sort of just feeds them off itself I think the energy is there Brad but I think it really starts up front with their defensive line and their linebackers the way they're being able to just win the battle with the line of scrimmage I think it's giving them confidence it's allowing them to play more downhill where they can attack this [Applause] off he gets out to about the 25 yd line call it a gain of three yard that makes it second and six from their own 25 yd line it's second [Applause] down and a quick throw he's at Midfield and they finally knock him out at the 47 yd line the receiver never took his eyes off the ball and even though the defender was all over him he still managed to play the ball for a big completion [Applause] left from the 47 yd line it's first down heyert 4 4 watch the slat watch the slat he's on the Run decides to slide well they didn't pick up the first down but he saw that no was open so he made the right decision to tuck it and run we got tie right tie right down down hand off and he's met in the back field he knew it was a run all the way got a good jump once he got there he wasn't about to let him slip away either they need about three yds to get the first down here on third down 4 [Applause] up the middle for a nice game with the tackle that's a gain of seven on the play first down we got tight left tight left four down down hey look 4 4 fires quickly and he's got his man brought down at about the 21 number 22 on the the 21 yd line first down 10 ydd to go ball on the [Applause] 21 goes to the tight end and knocked away that was textbook coverage by the defense that's exactly what you want to do on every single pass play but it doesn't always happen this is the eighth play of this drive hey che che [Applause] incomplete and that wasn't the greatest pass in the world well I don't know how anybody can throw a great pass while getting drilled like that they'll line it up again on third down check 2 on 2 here comes the pressure deep ball laying it out there caught touchdown Broncos the wide receiver flew down the field on that touchdown connection well he he has the speed to stretch the defense and his hands are getting better every single game here comes the kicker to try to tie this game [Applause] up and he adds the extra point Boise state is lining up to kick this one off he kicks it off and he got all of that one and it goes into the end zone down for a watch back both these offens are stepping up and answering the Bell who's going to Blink first here exactly right I've just been impressed with the way they've been able to execute I there's there's a lot of pressure on them anytime you're feeling that the other offense can put points up on the board there's a tendency to want to press either one either one has done that up to this point and right now it's going to come down to who can continue to execute put points [Music] up I think it says something about the quality the preparation of both teams that we into the third quarter and nobody's been able to pull away both sides seem to know what to [Applause] expect and he makes it out to about the 27 yd line so the quarterback keeps it for two yds and that was the junior Corner who will get credit with that tackle easy easy easy [Applause] got an opening and they make the stop right around the 36 yd line that's good for a gain of n y that makes it first and [Applause] 10 nice run there as they work the outside gain of four on the play that makes it second [Applause] 1ag 68 he's taken down at the 42 so at the end of the third quarter this game is all tied up [Music] 177 overall tied up now as we head to the all important fourth quarter TI down down M 13 M 13 here's the pitch and now he's got the corner we still got a lot of football left but this is what we'd hop for tie football game big stop there and now what's the offense going to do he really got a hold of that one and it goes into the end zone down for a Touchback both teams are kind of struggling to take control of this game obviously they're both very very competitive with one another it just seems that the lead is going back and forth between the two teams and you know it's basically like we're starting from zero here in a one quarter game now every possession is [Music] vital oh and he can't hang on huge drop there number 34 the intended receiver on the play from their own 20 yd line it's second [Applause] [Music] down it's the tail back and he tackles him hard at the 28 call it a gain of eight yards that'll bring up third and two man left man left four down four down hey alert 48 4 [Applause] slings it and down he goes at the 44 yd line that's good for a gain of 16 yds first down from their own 44 yd line first down play that don't let him [Applause] gets it that quickly he's out of bounds right around the 44 yd line that makes it second and 10 oh you got deep hey 4 [Music] 4 the pass's incomplete number 27 was the intended receiver third down now and they need to get it inside the 46 down [Applause] 4 they bring him down some big time effort sack by the defensive end I want to also give some credit to the coverage downfield the end never gave up on the play but because the quarterback didn't have anywhere to go with the football it gave the defensive end enough time to eventually chase the quarterback down for that sack everybody up close it looks like they're coming after this [Applause] kick it's away and it's a booming punt he Fields it at the 17 he makes it out to maybe the 33 yd line this is when things get a little prickly you need your Playmakers to really come through here throws it in a hurry he's tackled around the 43 yd line 10 y first down easyas nice catch first down he's knocked out L Larry that's good enough for another Morgan first down team M your team the he might have a chance he gets out to about the 21 yd line 18 CH for another [Music] first tackle made round the 25 four yd line more plays like this and the coaching staff is going to need to change up the blocking scheme you can't allow the defense to play in your back field from the 24 yd line Second down less than three minutes in the game ready 18 fires it out they'll bring him down at the 20 yd line number one makes the tackle at the 20 yd line n that'll make it third and [Music] [Applause] nine pulls it in and he's in the open field tackle at the 12 yd line the Broncos taking their first time out of the half wow a long gain but still not enough for the first well the offense hurt themselves by digging themselves into a hole on first and second down so the defense didn't really have to put too much thought and how to defend on that third down he gets it up and the field goal is good and so they take the lead with that field goal Big Time kick late in the game that was a clutch kick to put them up on top and he got all of this one great kick this one's going to be down in the end zone for a Touchback you know this is a real crucial time in the game it could still go either way 4 [Music] complete brought down nothing doing three y that'll make it second to seven second down seven yds to go ball on the 28 yd line let's go Motion motion motion caught open field good tackle there in space the cat number 27 brings him down at the 32 yd line that makes it third and three four down four down hey 4 like 4 go hit as he through and he completes it and he's tackled around the 37 yd line get the tackle the 37 yd line makes just over a minute left gets it he's in space knocked out of Bounds at about the 49 call a gain of 14 yd first first and 10 ball on the 49 yd line get in the get in the heyert 4 flares it and almost had it intercepted the defense always likes to see a pass broken up but getting the turnover would have been really big and he hey hey [Applause] get passes to his tail back again and he's taken down at the 40 yd line re gain of n y that'll bring up third and it's third down and they're about the length of the football away from the first down marker [Applause] 4 brought down at the 36 6yd line hey it's a it's a first down for this offense that keeps everybody enthusiastic you can see the momentum that this offense is gaining the coaches and the players on the sideline are fired up and he it's a new set of down fires out to his receiver and they make the stop right around the 32 yd line Y that makes it second and spikes the ball spes the ball that'll bring up third and six third down now and they need to get it to the 26 four down four down hey alert 48 hey we don't like the 48 right now let [Applause] go there's another pass to the tight end and he's got it just a tremendous job by that defense and their coordinator did a super job there to keep it this close in this ball game and now the offense has got a chance to win it [Applause] [Music] there's a strike complete what a play and that'll set up a first and [Applause] goal that makes it first and goal throws
