turned into a first class facility and now we bring you the coin toss it's presented by Nissan Innovation that [Music] [Applause] excites North Carolina state has lined up for the kickoff and we're ready to get this one underway deep to return from his own goal line tackle at the 21 yd line turns the kick turn 20 y so here comes the offense taking the field for the first time [Applause] [Music] today throws it in a hurry tackle made around the 33 yd line I'm really liking what I see from this guy he's not afraid to go to the air on any [Applause] down and he's taken down at the 48 yd line that was a really nice play on the ball by the receiver for a substantial gain and a first down [Applause] [Music] and and he's level at the 38 yd line not a real fan play here just a smartly run route good protection and a well-placed ball most times you don't need much more than that easy he might have a chance he's at the 20 and he shoved Out of Bounds at about the N yd line this back might need a breather after that run but when he comes back just give it to him again easy sh sh he's taken down at the 6yd line call G of Y easy easy touchdown [Applause] VA it shouldn't have surprised the these guys to see the Run coming at them but they just couldn't stop [Music] it he makes the pat a six play 79y drive and the result seven points Brad I thought the offense did a really nice job of mixing up the play calling on that drive I thought the defense was on its heels most of the drive because of the versatility of the offense taken from the three yd line takes it to the 22 yd line off return 19 y now the offense gets ready to take their first crack at [Applause] [Music] it gets out to around the 32 that'll make it second and in throw complete he's got space to work brought down at the 40 gain of eight y that'll move the chains for another North Carolina State first [Music] down he's at Midfield and he is drill at the 47 [Music] the quarterback in the gun empty backfield five wide receivers in the [Applause] formation he's tackled at the [Applause] [Music] [Applause] 32 just throws this one away second down and 10 to go ball on the 32 yd [Applause] [Music] [Applause] line and a quick throw brought down in the open field 17 that's good enough for another North Carolina State first down [Music] there he goes touchdown NC [Applause] State well a quarterback just showed us he can beat you with his feet as well as his arm and what a dangerous weapon this guy is here's the pat to tie this thing up and he hits the p8 a seven playay 79 yd Drive and it results in a touchdown BR I thought that was a textbook Drive I thought they did a really good job of showing balance mixing the play calling with the run and the pass just an overall well executed touchdown Drive he's to the 20 heading for the corner he's taken down at the 25 off returns 25 y let's find out of the defense has made any adjustments after giving up a touchdown on that last drive so much of the passing game is about the timing between the quarterback and his wide receivers and right now with this offense they are in sync and really the timing and execution is Flawless first there are five wide receivers split out the quarterback in the gun little screen pass and down he goes right around the 46 yd line the man defense proves to be too tough against the screen that was an excellent job by the Defenders they fought off their blocks and found the ball before the play had a chance to [Applause] develop pass incomplete trying to get it to his receiver number 87 was the intended receiver on it's third down eight to go ball on the 46 yd [Music] line once and all going deep the defender had his hands on it but it's incomplete you never never know what'll happen when the ball Ricochet is like that good effort by the [Applause] defender oh excellent Punt and it goes into the end zone down for a Touchback and here comes the offense again they'll try to make it two touchdowns and two possessions great passing was the key for the offense the last time they had the ball they were able to pick part the defense and get down the field for a [Applause] touchdown he fights forward to about the 23 gain of three on the Play Let's Go D that'll make it second and seven hey check M 45 check [Applause] 45 throws a laser across the middle and he's tackled at the 39 yd line 16 yd8 18 Mo the chain for another Carolina States first [Applause] down tackled after decent pickup y that brings up second [Applause] and four four catches it and he's looking for more he's pushed out of bounds right around the 44 yd line I'll tell you something I'm loving this quarterback back's confidence more and more as this game goes on he's really throwing the ball with some [Applause] purpose looking for his man incomplete number 80 was the intended receiver on the play second down 10 to go B on the 44 yd line the sub package in there defensively in this five wide receiver set step it's out of bounds right around the 42 yd [Applause] line they'll spread the field here let's see what the defense does with a five wide [Applause] Outlook fumble loose ball recovered by the [Music] defense so the offense turns over the pkin the ball carrier here was just careless in handling the ball and a great awareness by the defense to jump [Music] on I don't think either team has a clear Advantage so far let's see if they can make some plays and get a little separation here's the halfback and they get nice yardage on that run down gain of five yards that brings up second and five easy easy Zips it to the tight end he's to the 40 and they make the stop around the 42 yd line of 10 y first [Applause] down9 quick throw out to the receiver tackle round the 43 yd line number six on the tackle at the 43 yd line left tight left that makes it first and 10 check number six check number six3 four I love the toughness here by this quarterback of sitting in into the last second trying to make a play downfield only to have this defense get to him he's got to do a better job maybe feeling things out a little bit but at least he ha in aess and a toughness to sit in that pocket they'll bring him down at the 32 yd line number 14 brings him down at the 32 yd line first [Applause] down slings it tackle made at the 23 yd line gain of n y that brings up second and one get the you go get this take four take four and they get him in the back field for a loss the offensive line needs to do a better job of not only handling the defensive lineman but getting up to the linebackers that way the ball carriers will have a little bit more room to get to that second level catches it and he's taken down at about the 13 do they don't want they don't want first down he's on the Run big play there and now they're looking at first and goal gain of 11 on the play that makes it first and goal easy easy tackled for a loss and the defensive end comes up with a big play boy he's quick as a cat no question he got tremendous penetration and was able to wrap him up for a loss there it's the 11th play of the drive they line up in the jumbo set looking for the corner touchdown [Applause] Tennessee that is great tough football right there getting down to the goal line and just punching it in [Music] and he adds the extra point this game's already shaping up to be a good one as we head to the second quarter Tennessee's lead is a touchdown Tennessee to kick for the kickoff number 19 back to return he'll return it from the three gets to about the 27 ydd line [Applause] Y back to the action now here in the second quarter the offense comes back out and as I'm sure you'll remember their last possession ended in a lost fumble so much in football is about how you respond to adversity moving forward after a turnover is a perfect example of that makes it second and eight down [Music] take four four fires incomplete he was looking for the tight end well that was clearly a poor read on somebody's part and the bad news is there was no Defender around if the pass was anywhere near him it could have gone for a big [Applause] play he's taken down at about the 41 let's go let's go that'll move the chains further North Carolina States first [Music] [Applause] down brought down at the [Applause] 39 39 that's good enough for another North Carolina State first down he's at the 30 and he hauls that one in he's tackles at the 21 Ys that makes [Music] it he's on the Run that's a great tackle at the 12 a gain of n y that brings up second and one hey the SL the slam [Music] and goal that's a that makes it first and goal shows some moves and he's [Applause] in they just make that play look so simple the timing on that option was just perfect and when the option has run this well it is very very hard to defend the extra point to tie this game up and he TS on the extra point the kicker looks like he's ready to kick this one [Applause] off he'll return it from the one and he's tackled at the 26 returns kick kick off returns 25 y this is the point in the game where you don't want to make any mistakes that give the other guys a reason to feel more confident going into halftime he makes it to the 28 yd line that's a game of two that'll make it second and seven easy easy gets out to about the 31 gain of three yard that'll make it 35 I got one I got one I got one easy easy looks middle got his back and down he goes at the 33 yd line excellent job here by the defense to sniff that one out before it turned into a first down and down he goes at the 38 [Music] yard the offense was able to punch it in the end zone on that last Drive they'll come back out looking for more the same as long as this quarterback has time to throw and you can guarantee that he'll find the open [Applause] man he's GBL up in the back field L of one yard on the play that makes it second and 10 [Music] [Applause] [Music] and he's going to come up with a sack boy this pass rush is sometimes scary they're really getting after the quarterback now that'll bring up third and [Applause] long third and long now after the sack up hey check mik 45 check mik 45 let's make these babies cry all back che check he's under some heat he gets sacked on the play The Volunteers will use their first time out of the halfs he just blew past the blockers and drag the quarterback down boy excellent play by the defense here a few extra seconds and those receivers might have been open and that'll be three and out brought down at the 43 yd line return for a gain of Y you always want to go in the locker room with momentum so as we get closer to halftime I think we'll see more and more attempts to create big plays good open field tackle the number 43 makes the tackle at the 49 yd line that makes it second and two green nine green [Applause] nine gets it out to his receiver in a hurry and he's tackled at about the 35 that's a gain of 14 yd on the play first down all day all day every day3 throws incomplete so when you feel pressure like that the worst thing you want to do is just to throw the ball into coverage he got away with one right there he's very fortunate next time he should just throw it away out of [Applause] bounds gets it he's in space and they make the stop at the 26 yd line that's good for a gain of n y Third Down [Applause] Easy he might have a chance makes it out to about the 16 the volunteers call it time out that's their second of the half first and 10 ball on the 169 green n blue a huge play and now they're in a great position to score easy easy makes it first and goal Green n green n the defense got some pressure and forced a bad pass I think they've been a little bit more aggressive here with their pass rush and that time it paid off with an incompletion second down and goal ball on the one give to the tailback and he's met in the back field easy easy go quick throw tight end t touchdown so he was able to connect with a tight end for the score yeah they did a nice job inside the red zone of mixing up the play calling that touchdown obviously fooled the [Music] defense he makes the p [Music] everyone's all lined up and ready for the kickoff two set to [Music] return taken from the three yd line they'll bring him down at the 22 yd line KCK off return 19 y momentum swings have been fairly even and with so little separation this game can be you know it's not a secret Reese they get the best game every week that we think's on the schedule right so they got this grave it's great it's close it's going back and forth I mean what a treat to watch one of the best games of the year just unfolding in front of us and more importantly to hear the silky smooth sounds of Kirk herb Street and Brad nestler does it get any better that's it for us good this is a well-designed play by the offensive coordinator everything really seemed to be working just fine except for the quarterback he's got to throw a better football this is the eighth play of this [Applause] drive setting up block here's a running back's got it on the [Applause] screen they'll call on the field goal unit here for this long field goal attempts Tennessee is down three and looking to tie it [Applause] up he gets it up and it's long enough and he got it [Applause] [Music] [Applause] and it looks like they're ready for the [Music] kickoff he'll return it from the three tackle at the 25 yd line and both offenses here in this third quarter have been on fire time for the defense to step to the Forefront a little bit makes you wonder which of these defenses has the ability to come up and make a stop it could be one of those games games where whichever defense comes up with that stop could be the team that wins the game a lot of times you'll see teams start to clench up a little bit when games stay close well into the second half you need to stay loose keep doing what you've been doing all week in practice and execute one it's time there's a strike complete get the first down here on third down the volunteers saw one of their top players going down earlier but it looks like he's going to be able to get back in [Applause] there he's to the 40 gains his knocked out of bounds around the 30 yd line gain of 10 y first down all day baby all day 43 is the m easy E's to the 40 he's at Midfield and they push him out around the 16 yd line that's a gain of 54 to have some success these guys got to be coming over Sidelines after touchdown after touchdown saying man I I didn't expect it to be this easy the score now 24 and down he goes at the 21s well this is a very competitive game just when you think one team has gained the advantage or the momentum the other team comes fighting back and it's going back and forth this is almost like a basketball game this deficit can be easily overcome sure but they have to be thinking if they don't get something going on this series the burden is going to be felt by their defense he's out to the 30 Out of Bounds at the 40 left that makes it first and [Music] 10 quick out to his receiver and down he goes at the 39 behind the line loss of one yard on the play that'll bring up second and [Applause] 11 give to the tail back they bring him down and Back Field tackles him for a loss that's a l of two y on the play that brings up third and 12 we'll head to the final quarter of play will the offensive fireworks continue Tennessee leads it [Music] 3124 Back In This Very pivotal fourth quarter Roger Roger 45 the bike all day pun over the middle to his tail back that's a huge huge stop here in the fourth quarter they've got the lead they're going to get the football back but there's still a lot of ball left and [Applause] seven he makes it to the 28 yd line the defense has gotten a good dose of this young man's abilities today Kirk the thing that's been unique about watching him play is of course he can make throws but I think his athletic ability and his playmaking ability has really caught this defense by surprise you know with the production that this quarterback has on the ground I think it's really opened things up in the passing game well all of his good plays have added up to his team enjoying the lead things aren't tied but they might as well be it's this drive that could really dictate the tone for the last quarter Tennessee is up seven caught open field and he's tackled right around the 34 gain of six y that brings up second and five EAS easy and they make the stop right around the 42 yd line that's good for a gain of eight yard first down out to the tail back and he dropped it number 15 intended receiver on the play from their own 42 yd line it's second down9 [Music] [Applause] [Music] quick throw excellent open field tackle tack gain of 19 on the left man left first down3 [Applause] green makes it out to about the 29 Down gain of 10 on the play that makes it first and 10 fumble the defense Scoops it [Applause] up9 good hustle there by the D lineman it's often an overused term when referring to defensive lineman but that's what they mean when they talk about a guy has a motor that's running he never quit and he played to the whistle both teams realize that when the ball is sna were one play away from a very different ball [Applause] game steps Out of Bounds at the 34 yd line gain of three on the play that'll make it second and [Applause] seven tackle around the 46 yd line che check che check che che first down hey Che 45 check [Applause] 45 fires incomplete knocked away I think the quarterback that time didn't even see the linebacker I think he was so focused downfield trying to read the safeties in the secondary that by the time he came to his receiver that was being guarded by the linebacker I don't think he saw him the linebacker made a good play to be able to knock that ball away they'll bring him down at the 46 number 27 makes the tackle at the 46 yd line that'll bring up third and [Applause] two gets out to around the 38 gain of eight y first down Che 45 K kill kill K kill kill and he's tackled right away first hey you don't want you don't want and this one's broken up I know this quarterback trusts his arm and his receivers but he's got to know when not to throw the ball he didn't have any room at all and he's lucky it wasn't intercepted from the 25yd line Second down this is incomplete number 19 was the intend we're at Play number nine of this current drive up third and 10 go here we go ready throws it in a hurry inside the 10 big play there and now they're looking at first and goal number 37 makes the tackle yd just under three to go in [Applause] regulation tackled after a decent pick up that's a that brings up second and goal they're packed in tight on the line touchdown wolf pack [Applause] here comes the kicker to try to tie this game [Applause] up and he hits the pat an 11 play 69 yd drive and they get it in for seven the kicker looks like he's ready to kick this one [Applause] off from his own goal line he got hit hard it's been a good one so far today let's see what happens here there's a lot of time left and I think the important thing for this offense is to get their momentum back and move the ball down the field this is when things get a little prickly you need your Playmakers to really come through [Applause] here moves up in the pocket and down he goes That's a l of five y that'll bring up second and 15 it's second and 15 ball in the 16 come on baby I see what you got Quick Pass tackle made at the 14 yd line number3 back the yd that'll bring up third and long left left a little more than two minutes to go in the fourth quarter throws it deep nobody covering the tight end and he's got it and he's taken down around the 39 yd line on the play not over here first down not over here on the ground inside he gets out to about the 38 yd line and he gets a yard on the run one thing about this linebacker over the years that separates him from the rest are his instincts and ability to make the play that's a nice Tackle by the senior here's another pass to the tight end and he's got it and he is drilled at the 28 yd line good for a gain of 10 y first down3 check 99 here's the halfback on the screen he's taken down at the 18 the quarterback and his receiver make a great play here and convert on an early down so it's second down and they're only about a foot away from picking up the first [Applause] down nice run there but that's a great job by this offense the defense knew that the Run was coming and they still could not slow them down pick up a first down and allows them to continue to work this clock green n green n run run run and he hits him hard at the 14 the volunteers taking their first time out of the half from the 14 yd line it's second [Applause] down Tennessee is going to have to use their second time out of the half here's play number 10 on the drive ready ready the kick is up and it sails through the [Applause] [Music] uprights I wouldn't be surprised that they just squib it here he really got a hold of that kick he's to the 20 he's taken down at the 24 and what a game it's been for this quarterback here well I think this whole offense is really clicking and it's allowing him as a quarterback just to sett in and find his rhythm you know and I also think he's showing that he's a lot more athletic than people want to give him credit each and every pass matters now and he'll try to give them the lead here this has been a great game and it all comes down to this who can Prevail the offense or the defense we're about to find out who's going to win it in this drive five wide fires out to his receiver and he's hit immediately so they pick up quite a few yards on that play Kirk well that was an excellent route and he did a great job of holding on to the football he sails it long oh and a huge drop by the wide out here in the fourth quarter and the ball game's over and our final score in this one 3431 volunteer and
