[Applause] [Music] [Music] we're here in Salt Lake City you near the Great Salt Lake and now we bring you the coin to and it's presented by Nissan Innovation that [Music] excites we see how these two teams play in this game as they prepare for the opening kickoff sends it sailing downfield and it goes into the end zone down for a Touchback now the offense gets ready to take their first crack at it red88 red88 and he carries the ball for a nice gain the B that makes it second and six check right check right he's taken down at the 41 yd line getting the ball to your tight end and allowing him to make plays in the passing game can really open things up on the outside for your real [Applause] speedsters che che and he tackles him hard at the 50 that's a game of n on the that brings up second and one they'll bring him down around the 47 yd line when you're an option quarterback you get used to getting pop pretty quickly he'll bounce right back up so it's third down now and they're going to need about [Applause] four and he throws it away Brad I just think this quarterback's got to do a much better job of being able to read that defense and make quicker decisions and especially when the defense starts to get pressure you've got to either get rid of that football or check it down or take off and run with it he punts no he won't feeling the pressure and he fumbles a football so the offense will come out in opponent's territory for their first drive of the game they couldn't have asked for better field position than [Applause] this and they make the stop round the 24 yd line number 18 makes the tackle at the 24 yd line like seven that makes it second and two kill kill [Applause] kill tackle made at about the 23 yd [Music] line make easy easy gains his way to the 13 yd line call it a gain of 10 y that makes it first and 10 brought down at the 10 yd line make it second to seven [Applause] K yellow now he's scrambling Rose complete touchdown I like how the quarterback the offensive line and the receivers made a concerted effort to get into the end zone [Music] [Music] he splits the uprights with the extra point a five playay 32 yd drive and they come away with seven points Brad I thought the offense did a really nice job of mixing up the play calling on that drive I thought the defense was on its heels most of the drive because of the versatility of the offense they'll bring him down at the 28 yd line the Bears are right where they want to be early in this one part well this is what their coach talked about off to a great start the defense did their job and it's nice to see the offense move the ball down the field and also get some points on the board let's see how the offense rebounds after fumbling on their last possession you don't change your philosophy after one play they'll be out doing the same thing as before just with better awareness that makes it second and twoo here's an opening makes it out to about the 46 so he keeps it and he gets a big first down quarterback made a very good decision here not to pitch he saw a break in the defense and just hit it for a big game they'll line up with five wide [Applause] receivers great pressure on the quarterback forc that incompletion boy they really pounded him on that throw from their own 46 yd line it's second [Applause] down run run run they go with a run and he's taken down at about the 47 yd line one y that'll make it third [Applause] and Che here's a screen pass gets it to the back and he's tackled at the 46 the pass good for maybe seven yards and I thought this play was going to go for more yards but the defense did a good job of shutting it down before the halfback could get any further [Applause] downfield nice run to the left there on the first they'll spread the field with five wide [Applause] [Music] he airs it out doesn't get there the defense got some pressure and forced a bad pass I think they've been a little bit more aggressive here with their pass rush and that time it paid off with an incompletion from the 40 yd line Second down what a play brought down inside the five a heck of a play by the receivers we talk all the time about the emotions of college football this play was definitely an emotionally charged Play What a way for the white out to make a statement in this game touchdown [Applause] Utes that is great tough football right there getting down to the goal line and just punching it in here's the pat to tie this thing up he makes the p8 they line up to kick this one away he sends this one deep this one's going to be down in the end zone for a Touchback and so far it's been totally even in close games like this every possession is likely to matter quick throw to the tight end he's tackle around the 36 yd line a nice completion to the tight end a good play here and the thing that I noticed is that he provides a nice big Target out there for the quarterback check check three check three and down he goes at the 46y gain of 10 on the play that'll make it second and inches kill kill [Applause] kill taken down as he works the left for a nice gain gain of four y first down down s Mike mik seven easy easy [Applause] hit as he thre and he completes it tackle around the 42 yd line gain of Y that makes it second and two kill kill kill he makes it out to maybe the 39 yd line that's a gain of three on the play Down Down easy [Applause] easy quick shot to the tight end and he can't pull it in Number the inted receiver on the Mak for the 39 yd line it's second down [Applause] greenen looks left finding his tail back he's taken down right around the 38 yd line so at the end of one quarter we're even at seven in this one set to resume action here in the second quarter and we've got a tight ball game huls it in as he's pushed out of bounds catch that's a gain of 12 on the play tight left left that makes it first and 10 check 82 watch 82 ball coming 82 Mike kill kill [Applause] kill he's on the Run here's play number 10 on the drive Rog they'll spread the field here let's see what the defense does with a five wide Outlook scrambling around they'll bring him down at the 31 he keeps it and maybe gets three yards that makes it third and 15 they come out in a five wide set kill GRE kill gets it out quickly he's at the 20 and they make the stop at the 11 when you can move the ball downfield in big chunks like that you've got the defense right where you want them check che che easy easy quick throw touchdown bears [Music] and he TS on the extra point is good Baylor yet set to kick this one away he just drills this one and it goes into the end zone down for a Touchback well this is turning into a shootout here now remember the last time we saw this offense out on the field they answered the bell and scored a touchdown can they do that now a second time there hasn't been too much daylight between these two teams in games like this some players try to press too much and that can cause mistakes and he makes it out to about the 27 yd line that's good for a gain of two y that makes it second and eight che che K kill kill kill kill quick throw incomplete wed his receiver number 83 from their own 27 yd line it's third [Music] down and he can't get away from the pressure that is a loss of four yds that makes it fourth and 12 [Applause] everybody up close it looks like they're coming after this [Applause] kick room around the corner he's at Midfield gets to about the 47 yd line momentum swings have been fairly even and with so little separation this game can be drastically changed on just one or two plays Baylor is up by a [Music] touchdown makes it out to about the 30 that's how we do d That's How We Do they don't want they don't want none of this first down easy [Applause] easy and he just gets rid of it so it's second and 10 ball in the [Applause] [Music] 30 he's at the 20 and he's hit before he can go anywhere makes the grab gain of 13 on the play that makes it first and 10 two y he gets out to about the 15 yd line that makes it second and eight k k [Applause] k he's going to try and scramble and now he's going to run touchdown Baylor he just put his eyes on that end zone and ran with some real purpose [Applause] [Music] there and he converts the extra point a five playay 47 yd drive and that's good for a touchdown Brad I thought that was a textbook Drive I thought they did a really good job of showing balance mixing the play calling with the run and the pass just an overall well executed touchdown Drive they're ready to begin another [Applause] Drive tackle after a decent run up the gut five Ys that brings up second and five they us he fights forward to about the 33 gain of three on the play that'll bring up third and [Applause] two he makes it out to maybe the 36 yd line first [Music] down brought down after a nice run up the middle he decides to keep it and picks up seven yards so it's second down and about two yards to [Applause] go and his tight end open and he drops it number 82 was the intended receiver on the play Third Down caught open field tackle made at the 41 that's good decision making there and mechanics by the quarterback he knew where he wanted to go with the ball but he looked off the other receivers first [Music] he steps up fumble and it's picked up by one of the linemen they'll get him for a loss yep and this is why you need to know where the ball is at all times out [Applause] baby this is the eighth play of this drive on the ball on the ball on the ball he's scramble slides down2 watch2 Bing got get the makes it to the 21 that makes first and 10 brought down at the 13 yd line Utah is going to have to use their second time out of the half and this is the 11th play of the current drive that makes it second and [Applause] [Music] [Applause] two nice run and he's brought down that makes it first and goal they come out on an empty Back [Applause] Field fires back to the tail back but he can't bring it in the quarterbacks dialed in so much on the coverage and looking downfield by the time he came over to find his running back he just misfired this is the 13th play of this drive Mo again he'll get the call tackled after a decent pick up the tackle that's good for a gain of five y that makes it third and goal empty Back Field quarterback in the gun five wide receivers and he throws it away the offense is staying on the field it's all or nothing here we go no [Applause] quick strike and he drops it I'm not going to fault that decision it was definitely a first down that they could have picked up you want to be aggressive early on even if it doesn't always work out they ran the ball very well on their last drive and it resulted in six they come out in a goal line set and he's taken down at the one no G on the play that makes it second and 10 down down easy [Applause] easy gains his way to the 16 yd line gain 15 on the play first down first down 10 to go ball on their own 16 Innovation that excites Prest Davis and David Pollock here completely locked in on that first half perhaps the most important statistic in any football game is turnover margin I want to had a wise coach tell me that the football was so important they named the game after it whatever that means I think it means that you're not supposed to let it get away from you and give it to the other team and so far both of these offenses have done a great job of that no doubt and most games are lost not one and it's because of the turnover differential and you can look at the stats when you say that every single time but you know both teams doing a good job taking care of it both offenses executing and still calling a game still still scoring points still putting up good numbers but at the same time taking care of the pig skin and they better value that thing cuz yeah you give it away and bad things happen David and I will stay locked in on everything going on in college football going to wrap it up here in the studio just about time to get you out to your second half Brad and Kirk ready with a call and we welcome you back to the action here just about about set for the second half he really got a hold of that kick this one's going to be down in the end zone for a Touchback the offense is on its way out on the field again and they haven't had any problem finding the end zone in their past couple of drives and he's tackled at the 36 yd line nowh that's a gain of 11 on the play first down [Applause] danc number 16 with the reception call it a gain of 13 yds that makes it first and 10 black five [Applause] gets it he's in space he's tackled at the 36 the catch number 25 on the tackle with the 36 yd line first down down they'll knock him down for a loss A Los of two y on play the Bears had one of their key guys go down earlier but it looks like he might be able to return excellent kick looks like they're ready for the kick and it goes into the end zone down for a Touchback Baylor is the type of team when you look at them it looks like their defense sort of just feeds off itself I think the energy is there Brad but I think it really starts up front with their defensive line and their linebackers the way they're being able to just win the battle with the line of scrimmage I think it's giving them confidence and it's allowing them to play more downhill where they can attack this offense give to the tail back and he's met in the back field no that makes it second and 10 check got a man in and out of his hands number six was the intended receiver on the play Third Down third and 10 coming up ball on their own 25 I gains his way to the 36 yd [Applause] [Music] line makes it to the 47 makes a first and 10 on the delay and he's brought down immediately L of two on the play that'll bring up second and 12 from their own 45 yd line Second down they'll spread the field with five [Applause] wide catches it and he's looking for more tackle around the 44 yd line you know what after a play like that I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they went to the A again quarterback all by himself in the back field with five wide [Applause] outs and he's tackled in the open [Applause] field they'll line up with five wide [Music] receivers fires out to his wide out he's taken down at the 34 yd line number three on the top at the 34 yd line that brings up second and five gets it out to him again they'll bring him down at about the 27 yd line [Music] [Applause] gets to about the 24 yd line call it a gain of three yards that'll make it second to [Applause] seven hand off and he's met immediately no gain that makes it third and seven we're at the 12th play of the drive here we go Quick Pass and they make the stop around the 14 yd line down the 14 yd that's good enough for another Utah first [Music] down and they get nice yardage on that run y that makes it second and [Applause] two tackle made at about the three yd line number 64 makes the tackle at the three yd line that'll move the chance for another Utah first down laterals back he's in for the score and they're back in it perfect call under these circumstances confusing them with the option and then getting the football into the hands of the running back a lot of concern from his teammates with a guy down on the field he makes the pat Utah kicked this one off nice kick plenty of distance this one's going to be down in the end zone for a Touchback so we're just about ready to return to action down down mik s [Applause] Mike he's into the open field gains way to the 40 yd line that's a gain of 15 on the play that makes it first and [Applause] 10 there he [Applause] goes the Run gain of 12 Ys first down down down seven Mike Mike seven orange three [Applause] orange and he's tackled after positive yardage that's a gain of five on the play that brings up second and [Applause] five there some daylight knocked out of Bounds at the 32 yd line gain of 11 yard first down mik Mike seven orang orang nice run there with the tack call a gain of six yds that'll bring up second and three kill kill [Applause] kill here he goes he takes it right side for a good gain so the option keeper will get him a first down this a very well executed option play The Blocking was there the quarterback made the correct decision to keep it himself and get the first down it's first and 10 ball on the 19 catches it he's immediately tackle behind the line so with one quarter remaining Baylor leads it 2414 second and [Music] 12 into the fourth quarter now and we're back to the action down down 14 14 and [Applause] makes it out to about the 13 gain of eight y that'll bring up third and four kill kill kill a lot of emotion over there with the coaching staff on the sideline the defense did their job and they've got a lot of confidence that their offense can come back and take the lead fourth down this should be an easy field goal the kick is up and he got [Applause] it Baylor to kick deep to return he sends this one deep and it goes into the end zone down for a Touchback the quarterback leads the offense back out onto the field as we get set to resume play the quarterback in the gun empty backfield five wide receivers in the formation and he throws it [Applause] away so it's second and 10 ball on the 25 yd line [Music] brought down right around the 30 that's good for gain five y let's go let's go they're not ready let's go make it [Applause] thir well they've got the lead and they come up with a big stop and it looks like they're going to get the football back it's fourth down and they're going to try to go for it he gets out to about the 35 yd line yeah the defense knew exactly what was coming and they still got out muscle they'll have to stay out on the field for another set of [Applause] down brought down after a nice run up the middle G ball theall ball make it second and four [Applause] he gets another carry and they got to him before he can get back to the line Los of two y on third down from their own 39 yd line third [Applause] down caught out of the open he gets hit out of bounds around the 3 seven yd line good job here by the receiver to look the ball in and ensure he had possession that's the right way to catch a pass [Applause] thetion caught with room to work and he tackles him hard at the 34 that's good for a gain of three y that'll make it second to seven there are five wide receivers split out the quarterback in the gun fires quick out to the receiver and he can't make the grab number 83 the intended receiver on the play third down and they need to get it to the 27 less than three minutes in the game strike to his receiver no Goode number one the intended receiver on the play that brings up fourth and seven I got I'm coming for you [Applause] both teams are well aware that a score on this drive is going to create an almost insurmountable lead this defense has really got to step it up and make a stop just under two minutes in the game tail
