Jordan hair Stadium one of the most intimidating and passionate environments in all of college football more than 87,000 will be watching that eagle fly overhead and getting set to back their beloved Auburn Tigers and while today is the final home game of the season for one team it is more importantly a celebration senior day as we'll see a squad from the SEC the Texas A&M Aggie taking on a squad hoping to prevent another L this week the Auburn Tigers glad to have you with us for EA Sports college football I'm Rees Davis David poock and Jesse Palmer with me in the booth guys we are ready to Tee It [Applause] [Applause] Up Texas A&M about to boot it away to start this game on the run from inside of zone five and good work by the coverage team to get the Return Man Down on the ground so the Auburn Tigers return team will have that offense backed up and here's the man they'll try to feed the football D no matter what the coverage looks like Jesse he's their best player on offense and I like the way this coaching staff moves him around and tries to create good matchups to take advantage of David and that makes it so hard to defend when receiver lines up in the same spot every time I can bring extra coverage man use this guy all over the field as a weapon of mass destruction here comes the offense on second down DB's right up on the receivers power football with the Run picks his way ahead pick up a three and gets it to the 20 yd line I like feeding my guy I like getting my running back touches feeding the ball so he can break some of those big runs but I'm also okay with these little ones set the tone stay balanced back to pass it's Thorne quickly to the tight end good tackle there to stop him short of the first down it'll bring up a big decision Auburn sends out the punting unit they'll have to punt for the first time this afternoon makes a move they'll put a stop to that return at about the 37 yd line so Texas A&M's offense has its first opportunity of the day you know yard figure to be hard to come by through the air but some quarterback's Jesse just love to go with the star Corner yeah and this guy's Got Confidence he's not afraid to go at anybody but he better be careful because this quarterback is one of the best in the nation one of the best no doubt and I think they will trust him on defense to make plays so you got to make a decision is my guy good enough to beat him on the outside I am fascinated by this match up and that's going to fall to the ground incomplete that was a physical match up there third down coming you can barely hear yourself thinking here as they're trying to get this defense off to a good start and they knock him down but he got past the line gain you know it's a nice throw by the QB there when you throw into running backs you got to make it easy on so you want to put it right on their body make the catch simple and let them go to work like they did just there getting that first how about that play to get a hand in there and force the incompletion second down coming up quarterback touch pass on the Jet Sweep they'll give him four on that one it's third and [Applause] six trying to pick up a first down trying to move the sticks on third down through the air and he was drilled just as he released the pass it's incomplete looking for the first down Texas A&M lines up on four the aerial assault continues makes the grab well past the sticks and he unleashed the RPMs on that pass man this sophomore has an arm and the aies are rolling down the field they'll go to the ground just what this offense was looking for sets him up at the 26 with the first down the aies come to the line with a new set of downs from the gun the running back looking for room and they'll finally get him down after a terrific pick up you've got to be loving what you're seeing from your offense here on the opening drive of this game they're in a really nice Rhythm they've got real good balance going on right now and they've got the defense on their heels they go to the ground they knock him down after a pick up of four ball is at the 9 yd line going to work in the Red Zone they can't pick up the first down without getting it into the end zone quick touch pass to the receiver and the defense makes the stop after a minimal game well and on these little push passes timing is so important trying to snap it right as he's getting a full head of steam when he gets the ball he's hitting the outside David it puts the defense in such a difficult spot you immediately have to be rotating when you see that motion so everybody's got to communicate and kind of bump over that's why offenses love to run it just it makes the defense communicate and see if you can just get him out of a spot and it's no good and after the Miss guys the score stays right where it is they knew coming into this game touchdowns were going to be real hard to come by going up against this defense so when you got opportunities to kick field goals you've got to come away with three points you're not going to get these chances very often a knock him down for a gain of three to the 23 after the three yd pickup they come to the line Second and seven leaves it with the back and they try the middle of this Stout defense and they rise to the challenge if they can convert here that type of play can really give you a shot of momentum on Third and long trying to have a big completion here find just tight end now they'll try to get this drive going good execution on First and 10 at the 31 the coach wants the officials to have another look at the monitor using a timeout here thinks the call is going to end up going his way [Applause] so he took a chance by using a Timeout on the challenge and it comes back to B him we'll see if he needs that timeout later and they'll line up from the 31 on first down they'll try the Run pushes ahead for a couple they'll mark it at the 33 picked up two yards on that last when they need eight on second down looking to throw it's Thor to the wide out got his man they make the stop but this passing game does some damage and they move the sticks with the first down Auburn lines up quickly going to run it it's Hunter he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple I love this linebacker because he's able to dissect what's happening in front of him and he reacts downhill speed to get to the line of scrimmage and create the negative play they make the stop after the catch and still some work to do to pick up that first down well we knew coming into this game this offense was going to try and get this receiver involved and get him involved early so here they are just finding an easy completion it's not a touchdown but they just want to get this guy lathered up and get him into a r they make the stop but not before the screen has hit him for a first down and much more really good EXE by this offense a new set of downs after the completion moving the running back forcing the defense to adjust trying to get to him and the quarterback runs out of time and down he goes at the 38 he has been terrorizing quarterbacks all year long that now his 10th sack of the Season he's got speed he's got power he's going to play on Sundays and he is not cooperating with this offense's game plan with the catch it's Lewis they make the stop but not before he takes a chunk out of what they need to move the sticks already two for two on third down but this time they'll need nine to convert we've reached the end of the first quarter and it has been a defensive battle and the stats tell the tal so far let's see if the offenses can find a little rhythm here in the second back on the field after the break and we'll start the quarter here on third [Applause] down looking to throw it's Thorne feeling some heat and the defense gets home and makes a play at the 37 yd line now on fourth down they'll try to come away with three this is going to have to be Unleashed from 54 yds out he got it and that'll put the first points of the game on the board it's three to nothing after putting up the field goal they're set to kick it away how nice is it as a head coach to have a kicker like this it makes these decisions on fourth down so much easier just trut him out there and let him stroke through the upu T&M has it back and the offense ready to go to work you want to talk about taking the wind out of your sails Drive the ball down the field and miss the field goal David you know what don't leave it up the kickers execute better offensively I think you move the ball nice keep that in mind but I think you got to stay aggressive and don't settle for field gos yeah because you got to know there's just no margin for error right now you just have got to be able to execute nowhere close on that one as he got thrilled trying to deliver the football and now they face third down they line up with some serious work to do if they want to convert this one now the quarterback changing the original play call on third down up top quickly complete a little more space open up that Playbook even more as they pick up the first down out to the 30 and the agies come to the line with a fresh set of downs the give to the tail back cross the 30 to the 35 and that's a gain of six you want to talk about making it easy for an offensive coordinator you Pi up a bunch of yards on first down make that second down really really manageable that's a great job by the offense second down he'll let it fly that pass is incomplete and they might be fortunate it wasn't knock free for a fumble it'll be third down trying to pick up a first down scanning the field it's Wegman they're trying to get to him got his man down the middle major gaps in that defense and he got loose and they finally knock him down at the 41 M offense is wasting no time trying to find his man on first down gets it out fast and he'll step out of bounds after a very productive play just keep giving him the easy catches until they do something to stop it yeah you're going to dictate to the defense you're going to make the defense cover him up and then obviously it leaves the middle of the field a little bit more wide open for receiver for a tight end so QB keeps making the right decision getting the ball running back making plays you have to wonder after missing a field goal on the last Drive how are they going to play this third down they'll try to power their way ahead he's got enough for the first down they'll spot him at the 24 yd line been really impressed watching this offense this year and how good they are on third down the reason they're so efficient they don't have penalties they keep these third Downs manageable and they've got a special Talent at running back that can find his way to the sticks he's brought down solid pick up a little bit short of the first down Texas A&M will snap it in the Red Zone just a quick Rhythm throw there and really good use of the tight end yeah good use of the big fell I mean go through the progressions real quick you can't find anything get the easy gain don't take a shot down the field all the time take those shots later but take those easy wideopen opportunities to get some positive chunks quarterback flips itead quickly to the receiver just nowhere to go against this defense to find that single yard he needed on third down that's a great job executing up front by the defense they looked like they were ready for that play and that was a bit of a more unconventional look from the offense on third down but the defense was there to make a big stop it's incomplete and they'll turn it over on down Sometimes the best defense is a little bit lucky he had a chance to make a play he just drops it through his hand it was pretty good defense but you take those breaks when you well it's a nice job by the quarterback getting the ball out of his hands quickly on that RPO he saw something he liked just not on the same page with his receiver wide receiver now comes in motion hand off from the gun sweet feet on the move that may not look like a huge run but they'll take it as it gets him up to the 24 they're facing a third down wants to throw it's Thorne a little screen to the running back and the defense able to drag him down but not before they'll recycle that down marker it's first and 10 from the 31 he's going to pass makes the catch it's Lambert Smith make the stop right there good pickup it's still short of the first down that last completion sets him up on second down he's looking to throw gets it out quickly they'll get him down but not before he crosses the 50 he's down to the 49 finally this offense starting to show a little juice theyve got a first and 10 he'll just keep slinging it fires and picked off and he's wrapped up after solid return on the pick and that's just a force by the quarterback they're throwing it into cover three it's a Zone coverage and if you're going to try to throw it deep down the middle you need another route to occupy the safety and take them away there was nothing there that time that's just way too easy of an interception for him good timing on the quick out makes the grab and he's dragged down now here on second down see if they keep tossing it around he's looking to throw pressure coming he just throws it away and I think the flag's going to be coming and there it is the official has offered the deal and the coach accepts it they will take the penalty Here Comes This Home crowd as the defense tries to get off the field on third down on the run it's Owens in a world of trouble from the start and a massive loss on that play quick timeout by the defense there trying to make sure everyone has the same call the aie send out the punt team to kick it away fair catch called for and made line gets set first down he wants to throw using the back as a receiver on the screen not able to break the fck one on that screen to the running back but he found enough and a solid pick up on first down picked up some yardage with that completion now second down looking to throw it's Thorne fires the pass intercept it takes it the other way and he's going to score on the interception touchdown agie really nice drive by this offense this is a top 10 defense this is a challenge they're going to make everything difficult so when you can make some plays against this defense you got to absolutely take advantage create some momentum for your squad nice drive by this offense we check in with Kevin Conor what's going on Kevin arguably the game of the week fellas with two top 25 teams locking horns Michigan is currently ahead in this one inside a jam packed big house but the Maze and blue have struggled to really pull away they're up by seven over northwester any big developments in this on we've got you covered with the best studio team in the business gentlemen and how about that one Kevin will be keeping an eye on everything going on elsewhere now on second down after the incompletion he's looking to throw coming after it and the sack all the way back at the five well for this defense finally you're seeing pressure on the back they're outside the top 50 in sacks per game they've been waiting to find some more consistent pressure to help them win games and they're getting it in this game now three sacks on the day they're just simply winning and doing a better job executing up front at the point of attack just about set here in the second half as Auburn about to kick it off fielded In The End Zone it's Owens didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 Texas A&M has it back and we say howdy to the aie offense again and then a lows scoring game like this one David every possession is magnified and I think more than anything it just gets frustrating and you got to put that behind you you got to see what this defense has been doing to be so successful now use it against yeah David I think for a play caller this is tough right it's like you have to have the perfect play on just to get a first down in these types of games I think you're just trying to get guys out in space see if a dude can break a tackle maybe that generates an explosive play and it breaks this trend got it in the middle it's green now they'll really try to get this drive going good execution on third down as they have it first and 10 at the 31 the agies come to the line with a new set of downs they'll go back to the ground they've got the play bottled up bubble it's out and the defense has it everybody reverse skate man it was the impact of the hit that dislodged the football from the ball G he was a heat seeking missile coming in there and he knocked that thing loose now here comes that Auburn offense onto the field again the sledding has been tough scores have been at a premium Jesse in every and the quarterback will take a sack back at the 36 I love the defensive effort there they didn't get him right away they stayed after him he was scrambling going backwards they get the sack on the first play of the drive flip it flip it leaves it with the running back and he didn't have a whole lot of operating room after the Juke and he stopped for a short gain it's a nice game but the big theme Here is they just haven't been able to get the Run game going on offense they've been very onedimensional they're just not being physical enough the point of attack getting some heat and the defense gets home and makes a play at the 37 yd line and it's been a long day for this offense if you can't protect your quarterback it's hard to be success that's the fist sack they have given up the offensive coordinator has no answers and this defense has been flying winning the turnover battle is so important and you got to make these turnovers convert into points they get the fumble recovery yeah they didn't get a touchdown but they're still able to get a field goal and put three points up on the board nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the 16 Texas A&M has it back on the off ready to go to work they coughed it up on that last drive but the defense really bailed him out holding him to a field goal Jesse yeah and I I think the offense the expressway is wide open and they'll do more than move the chains they'll move that thing more y down the field before he's finally [Applause] stopped they say it's still a game of field position and that last one just flipped this baby they've got it first and 10 in the Red Zone they're threatening to score and they'll throw it can't make the grab as he was going for six right there man these windows get tighter down here in the red zone and those catches are a little bit more contested more people near you and it gets a little bit more difficult that you need your players to step up for your QB and make big plays I think he's going to look back in touchdown agie they take the lead with the six and I love the wheel rra I love calling it because most of the time I'm going to get my running back who's a fast athlete in space against a linebacker or somebody who can't catch him nice play design nice job throwing it out in front of him he does the rest gets in for the touchdown here he comes from inside his own five he'll go out of Bounds at the 27 yd line just couldn't quite Shake free and Auburn is ready to go back work on offense man how comforting is it to know that even if your offense stalls out a little Jesse that field goal kicker can knock it in from a long way out well he's one of the best in the country be no doubt but this offense would like him and prefer for him to kick an extra point on this drive and to do that David they've got to have more Rhythm on it yeah create some more Rhythm create some more explosive plays and maybe some more balance and listen it's nice to have that weapon and kick long field goals if you kick too many field goals you don't get very many WS and they drag him down but not before he picks up the first down here's this offense with a fresh set of down wide receiver shows motion with Jet Sweep pass he is going nowhere stop at the line of scrimmage got to give the defense credit watching film anticipating they knew that this offense had this play in their back pocket they knew about the speed of this wide receiver different ways they were going to try to get him involved everybody on defense on the same page playing together I love it lining up to convert third down they'll try to pick up the first through the air incomplete and he threw that one up for grabs and into traffic and fortunate to get it back and here comes the field goal unit this kicker has already made a couple today he's going to try to knock one through from 49 yds away just in between the uun well the head coach decided to play it safe on Fourth and inches and try his field goal team out there and his field goal kicker just made him look like a pretty smart guy after putting up a three spot the kickoff unit set to go fielded In The End Zone it's mock that gamble did not off down at the 12 yd line Texas A&M has it back and we say howdy to the AI offense again one running back in the back field and he has it picks his way ahead he'll get five out to the 17 yd line halfway there on first down it's second and five to the air it's Wegman using the quick game after 40 there he goes and he is marked out of bounds after another big game this aial attack has had no problem moving the ball with chunk plays the offense setting up shop at the 46 first and 10 looking for a gap it's Moss he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three last play was a near disaster now dealing with second and 13 he's looking to throw pocket starts to collapse the Tigers bringing the heat the way Andre Bruce did back in the day and they just find those big nasty strong physical guys that can eat up the line of scrimmage and get after quarterbacks it's one of the Staples of these all throughout the and he was on his way gets it all the way to the 38 this dude is just exceptional in every facet so fluid such a great route Runner and a big play there and money down third down find him I mean you want to find that match up because he's going to win and gets a good release gets down the field you see his that's your playmaker that's your guy get it to him get the first down got some work to do after that last play second and 13 caught over the middle it's green and a good job in coverage there as they stop it after just a few as they get set to snap it just about to reach the end of the quarter third and long and he'll try to throw for it and that's incomplete a Defender all over him knocked the ball to the ground fourth down coming up Texas A&M will have to boot it away second time today they've been forced to punt personal foul ring the kicker [Applause] defense so the decision has been made and the coach will take the penalty Texas A&M has the lead at the end of the quarter and as we switch ends of the field let's take a quick look at the national rankings back at it to open the quarter with this first down play quick strike complete he's run out of bounds but a big play on that one and it'll be a first down and the agies come to the line with a fresh set of downs to the air it's Wegman he got it so close to that end zone he can almost taste it but it'll be first and goal for this offense and this defense has to step forward not only do they have to get a stop they've got to do it quickly to keep that time and he takes it to the house touchdown Texas they extend this lead and it looks as if they are going to make it two wins in a row they marched 79 yds on the drive and they capped it off with a one yd Plunge [Applause] about to kick it off after punching it in for the touchdown on the move from inside his five he'll go out of Bounds at the 27 yd line just couldn't flight Shake free now here comes that Auburn offense onto the field again it's always great get points on a drive but it would behoove them to try to get a touchdown this time around Palmer they may have to get out of their comfort zone here too David a little bit and just start being more aggressive and take some chances but that's what's going to have to happen for them to win this game yeah and when you're losing obviously everything gets hyp everything becomes more critical this drive is crucial because You' got to cut into this deficit and put some points on the board he stopped just a chain Linker from the first down and them up beautifully here let's see what they've got on second down they'll run it from the gun tackled after picking up the first down well the good news is is you got the first down running it there on second and short the bad news is you're down by quite a bit here in the fourth quarter and two three four yard gains aren't going to get it done you've got to start chucking this thing vertically to get back in the game and and just a short safe pass play they pick up a few Auburn to the line in a hurry you just got the feeling this defense is going to make it hard on them right they've got the lead it's late and they're going to try to tackle everybody in bounds offense is going to have to really work for this and be smart you got to attack the sidelines you got to throw first down you got to keep this thing moving vertically down the field on Third and long he's going to have to throw for it it's caught down field they just gashed the defense on that when they've got it down to the 23 now on first down after that completion they're trailing like they are right now in the fourth quarter their execution offensively is just going to have to be at a premium pressure is on the way and the pressure has arrived and down he goes at the 30 this drive was rolling and then it got thrown into reverse here's a second and 18 and it'll be incomplete this defense is physical and pass deep this will be the eight play of the drive but a great opportunity for the defense to get off the field lets it fly deep down field and they dialed up a shot play but they couldn't hook up nice job by the defense they're mixing up their look they're third and long in field goal range they go Zone coverage so everybody on the back end has the eye on the quarterback and they're able to break on the ball Force the incompletion and the kicker delivers the three to salvage that drive so after the last Drive ended with a field goal the kickoff team out there to send it away he'll bring it out it's Owens rolling the dice to bring it out of the end zone did not work out as he stopped at the 13 Texas A&M has it back and the offense ready to go to work the defense will have to key on the run and try to get this ball back he'll come out throwing on first down finds a tight [Applause] [Applause] end and now on second down for this offense now the play fake oh what a spectacular layout in catch you know this sop has a big arm and there were some revolutions on that one and they'll line up from the 31 on first down it's a fleet flicker he's going to let one fly down the middle makes a catch at the 20 he's showing it all the juice the Jets the moves and he's got it down to the 16 yd line I love when you back the defense off if you want to get aggressive I'll take down the field make the defense play more conservative and now what now you're in the Red Zone with a chance to get some points you can tell this quarterback did his homework coming into this game he has been dissecting this defense pressure is on the way and the pressure has arrived and down he goes at the 30 defense uses a timeout quickly trying to get that ball back and preserve time for their offense second down here and maybe they've got time to get one more snap off before the two-minute warning and here comes the pressure and there he goes down again we have arrived at the two-minute warning a one possession game as this offense tries to hold on big third down as the crowd Gets behind this defense oh he's going to try to get it all here it's complete they will score touchdown agies they built a comfortable lead in trying to hang on for a weak 13 Victory and you know late in the games offenses sometimes get conservative when they got the lead and they got the ball I love this offense they were aggressive they got another score added to the lead now you're trying to Salt this game away almost ready to kick it away after scoring the touchdown he'll bring it back from inside his spot nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the 16 and Auburn ready to go back to work on offense they're going to have to be more aggressive in this drive you can't expect to win this one David kicking field goals now especially when you're trailing you got to have a little more urgency and maybe a little more aggressiveness Jesse and field goals are not going to get it done down the stret yeah you're going to have to take some shots no doubt bottom line when plays present themselves you just simply got to make them grabbed over the middle it's Hunter and they wrap him up but not before he's got enough for the first first down looks as if we have an injury on that last play and we'll take a break to check him out new set of downs after that [Applause] completion looking downfield it's Thorne he's got his man and they finally haul him down but not before the good catch and run they'll hurry to the line with the clock still running they keep attacking through the air snagged in the middle it's Lewis chopping up this defense and they've got it all the way down to the 23 the Tigers in the hurry up looking to go up top on first down finds his man it's Hunter the offense will quickly use a timeout man down on the play as the officials a break to let him be checked [Applause] out alurn hopes to get war eagle flying in this Red Zone trip defense going to jam these receivers right off the line throws toward the end zone and he's got it for a touchdown so hold on a second they're not dead yet in fact they're suddenly feeling much better if we had any chance to make this happen we had to score with a little bit of time on the clock now we need a miracle now now we need to kick the onside get an onside kick and somehow someway make a big play and for a quick update let's go to Kevin Conor in the studio fellas it's a final now in one of the more intriguing games of the week that notable top 25 flash Michigan found a way to pull out a victory it wasn't vintage Maze and blue football those folks in the big house won't remember this one forever but they will remember it was a w a top 25 clash and an impressive showing that could be a huge confidence builder for this program back to you Kevin thanks a lot for that one sounds as if they had a good one there Texas A&M would love to run out this clock little touch pass to the receiver nice solid form tackle from this sophomore and these little touch passes man they're just the easiest completions ever for quarterbacks Palmer I bet you would have loved being able to just Flip It Forward that counts as to your completion percentage which is good and then it's all run after the catch so pretty easy for a QB you wouldn't have been the only allamerican in this boo if I were allowed to had push passes when I was playing quarterback I'll tell you that it is so hard
